Five minutes to register for an event, show up on the big day, go to a few talks, drank a free beer (or two), and then head home. That is how it used be. In comes Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Periscope, Meerkat, Snapchat and the like. Social media and technology has changed and is changing all of that.
Event organisers and sponsors now need to look at creative means to engage attendees and remote audience, and ultimately to get them talking about the event. In this presentation, I talk about my key takeaways from marketing the hell out of the events BRCKTS have worked on, along with observations from case studies of viral campaigns.
