Action – Disciplined Action
13. • Anant
To maximize our potential to our clients, we need to focus on
ourselves. What is the one thing we can be doing this year, this
month, this week to be better?
• Client
To maximize the potential of our clients, we need to focus on how
we can best serve them so that they can serve their customers.
What’s the one thing we can do for our clients so that they are
better?
• Mastery
To maximize your potential to Anant or the Client, you need to
focus on how you can improve yourself. What’s the one thing you
can learn or be better at so that you can help your team mates?
Focus – One Thing
14. • Practical
Every time we decide to focus on the One Thing for Anant, the Client, or
ourselves, we need to work on the Most Important Task related to completing
our objective. It is what needs to be done before everything else. That is why
a Priority is a priority. It is the most important thing.
• Incremental
Urgent items can be distracting. Should they take precedence over the Most
Important thing? You have to decide if it could potentially derail the company,
the client, or yourself and take the right action. Not all urgent items are
important.
• Smart
Our priorities set direction on what we are doing. We should set priorities that
are smart and realistic so that we can move forward. Taking on something that
is too big for a certain time frame will not help anyone because you’ll be too
busy and not helping others.
Priority – Next Most Important Thing
15. • Practical
What is the next practical thing that can be done to improve?
What is the next thing that can be done to do it faster?
• Incremental
If the next practical thing is big, how can we break it down and
move it forward on an incremental basis?
• Smart
What is the next smart thing that can be done? Is it going to
help us move forward quicker, faster, cheaper? Is it a force
multiplier?
