• Cold infusion of dry coriander
• Contents –  Crude powder of Coriander seeds 
-- 20 gm + 
•  Water -- 120 ml (6 times of crude powder)
• Instruments --  steel vessels, spoons, muslin 
cloth or funnel for filtration,measuring 
cylinder

• Procedure – i) Take 20 gm of crude powder in 
a vessel. ii) Add cold water --120 ml ( 6 times 
of powder) in it. iii) Keep the mixture covered 
for 6 to 8 hrs.
•  Ideally Mixture can be kept overnight for 12 
hours ,to get Samskar (Effect) of cold,cooling 
atmosphere for 12 hours
• iv) Then stir the mixture and filter it. And drink 
it after adding sugar in  it.

• iii) Odor – coriander

• Procedure ---- First put vessel with sugar & 
water on the fire to prepare syrup 
 
• When solution starts becoming thick ,add 
Shatavari Ghana powder 
• Then stir continuously .Otherwise mixture will 
burn

• Slowly water will totally evaporate & mixture 
will become solid .After total granulation of 
mixture put of the Fire.

• Contents – 
•  Bala crude powder -- 50 gm + Water -- 400 ml 
( 8 times water) + Milk  -- 50 ml (1/2 of the 
decoction) + Sesame oil -- 50 ml (1/2 of the 
decoction) + Bala fine powder   -- 12 gm (1/4th 
of sesame oil)

• Procedure – i) First prepare Bala decoction. 
For this take Bala powder 50 gm in vessel ( 
having handle). Add 200 ml water ,stir it and 
note the level. Then add remaining 200 ml of 
water. Boil the mixture on low flame of the 
fire till 200 ml water remains.Control 
temperature with knob of hot plate & 
continuous stirring is important.Filter the 
Decoction

• Procedure –
• (Textual reference says to prepare decoction 
16 times water should be added in crude 
powder and reduce it to 1/8th part. Here we 
have added 8 times water to reduce it to 
1/4th)
• ii) Take sesame oil 50 ml in the vessel .Add 
Bala fine powder kalka (paste – prepared with 
adding little water in fine powder)  in it.Then

• Procedure –
• ii) Take sesame oil 50 ml in the vessel .Add 
Bala fine powder kalka (paste – prepared with

•  iv) Keep the mixture on the low flame of fire 
and stir continuously .                               
• v) Water will be evaporated and medicated oil will be 
ready

• Procedure –  vi) Test for concluding the 
procedure- Paste of the plant can be rolled in 
to fingers and wick can be prepared.
• This wick can burn on fire without any 
crackling noise
• Froth will appear on the surface of the oil.( At 
final stage of Medicated Ghee ,Froth 
disappear)

ml (8 times of total powder contain).

• In Sharangadhar ( Sharangadgar Madhya 
Khanda –Chapter 2/1 & 3/1)— 
• 4 times water is mentioned .
• But then it becomes too strong .Which may be 
tolerable to people of his time .
• But considering present time ,we are adding 8 
times of water .So this is diluted Recipe, which 
is tolerable to the people of this time period.

• Instruments -- steel vessels, spoons, muslin cloth or

• Procedure –   i) Take 160 ml water .Note the level 
.Then add 40 ml of water .So in total it is 200 ml 
.Now boil it & reduce to 160 ml 
• i) Take all above said ingredients in crude powder 
form.
• ii) Pour boiled water in it and cover it.
• iii) When mixture becomes Luke warm, filter it and 
consume it.

•  i) Color – Faint Brown
• ii) Taste – Pungent
•  iii) Odor – Like Ginger
• Dose – 15 to 20 ml tds.
• Indications – .This phant is Good Pachan or 
Carminative .So even it can taken in between 
meal .Appetizer, Gases, Indigestion, Cold.

• Contents – Bark of Arjuna – 10 gm crude 
powder + Cows milk -- 80 ml (8 times of 
powder) + Water -- 320 ml (32 times of 
powder)
•  Instruments – steel vessels, induction platter, 
spoons, tongs, muslin cloth or funnel for 
filtration, measuring cylinder.

Arjuna Kshirapaka (Medicated milk)
• Procedure – i) Take Arjuna bark crude powder 
in a vessel  ii) Add 80 ml milk in it. Note the 
level of the milk. Stirr it  iii) Now add the water 
in it.Stirr by spoon iv) Boil the mixture on low 
flame of the fire, evaporate the water.Stirr 
while boiling +  v) Remaining milk should be 
filtered, which is ready to use
