 INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT): IT refers to all the computer based information
systems used by organizations and their underlying technology. IT is the use of
computers to store, retrieve, and manipulate data or information.
 Information technology is the study, design, development, implementation, support or
management of computer-based information systems-particularly software applications
and computer hardware.

 INFORMATION SYSTEM: This refers to a set of interrelated components that collect,
manipulate, and disseminate data and information and provide feedback to meet an
objective.
FOR EXAMPLE: ATMs, airline reservation systems etc.
 MIS helps organize complicated information, so decision making becomes easier right
from simple low-level decisions to strategic plans made at the top level of management.

processing, also known as data processing, reflects the principal business activities of a firm like- sales,
