3. ROHub
• Enables the sharing of scientific findings via Research
Objects (ROs)
• Support scientists throughout the research lifecycle to
create and maintain high-qualityROs that can be
interpreted and reproducedin thefuture.
• Combination of digital libraries, long term-preservation
and semantic technologies.
• ROHub comprises a backendexposing a set of RESTful
APIs and a SPARQLendpoint, and a frontend Web
Portal providing a graphical userinterface.
RO storage, lifecyclemanagement and preservation
4. • ROHub backend is composed of
– access components,
– long-term preservation components and
– controller that manages the flow ofdata.
• ROs arestored in the access repositoryonce created, and
periodicallythe new and/or modified ROs are pushed tothe
long-term preservation repository.
• The storage backend can be based on dLibra1,orit can use a
built-in module for storing ROs directly in the filesystem.
• The long-term preservation components is based on dArceo2

ROHub is a digital library system for research objects that supports their storage, lifecycle management and preservation.
It provides a Web interface, a SPARQL endpoint and a set of RESTful APIs defining resources and representations according to the RO model.
Internally, ROHub has a modular structure that comprises
Access components: storage backend built on dLibra or filesystem and semantic metadata triplestore backed by Jena TDB
Longterm preservation component built on dArceo
Controller that manages the flow of data
