early years
Durban: Born and bred.
Singapore and AUSTRALIA: My first big family adventure to Singapore, Brisbane and
The Great Barrier Reef.
Bahrain: The first time I flew solo was to visit my life-long friend whose family had
relocated.
Malawi: A trip to the warm heart of Africa, and one of the poorest countries in the
world, was a heartwarming and eye-opening experience which left me with a new
awareness of the world. I stayed with my Aunt and got exposure to her work at SOS
Children’s Villages, Tobacco farming and the beautiful Lake.
Mozambique: More adventure.

7. After school
California: After waitressing throughout High School at John Dory’s, I managed to
save enough money to take a gap year. This was a year of growth and learning.
I began my trip in California, where I moved in with a family close to Laguna Beach,
in San Clemente. I worked at the John’s family Surf Shop, Laguna Surf and Sport. In
the evenings and on weekends I Au Paired for friends of the John’s. Any spare time
I had was spent in Los Angeles with friends I had made, or taking trips along the
coast, from San Diego to San Fransisco.
Europe: After four months, I has saved enough money to buy a ticket to London,
where I met up with a friend and backpacked through Spain, Italy, France,
Amsterdam and Scotland. After exploring I found a new adventure and worked for
five more months at Villa Saint Exupery in Nice, South of France, as a receptionist
and house keeper(amongst other odd jobs). My life-changing trip came to an end
and I headed home fulfilled to an unforgettable family reunion holiday to celebrate
my Gran’s 80th birthday.
during studies
Thailand: After a year of studying at Vega, I moved into a flat, closer to my studies
and worked as a waitress at Hemmingways Bistro and 9th Avenue Bistro, as well as
a Brand Ambassador for Lillets for the final 2 years of my studies. After my first year
I had managed to support myself and save up for a month long holiday to explore
Thailand and it’s exquisite Islands.
Europe: At the end of my second year I was able to backpack around Europe, to
Spain, France and Italy with a friend.
post studies
MAURITIUS: My family jetted off to Mauritius to enjoy my sisters wedding in celebration
of her new life in a not-too far-off country
