8. • Lime scale is formed primarily because the
solubility of calcium carbonate decreases with
increasing temperature.
• Lime scale is only a problem if calcium
carbonate deposits calcite crystals, which may
form hexagonal fibrous crystals.

13. • The magnetic field changes the direction of the crystal
growth to the aragonite which is a softer type of scale
and less likely to form an adhesive scale which can be
easily removed.
• Scale formed in the surface of the boilers before and
after magnetic treatments, shows a significant decrease
of the scale.

14. • The process works due to the presence of Lorentz force
which creates ionic charge, magnetic field and flow
velocity, respectively.
• Lorentz force also causes the opposite ionic charges
move in opposite directions and therefore decreases the
adhesion scale formation, on the jacket of boilers, and
corrosion considerably.

15. • Lorentz Force changes the morphology of the mineral
crystals. This effect causes the shape of the crystals
change to aragonite which is less likely to form a scale.

OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCY OF BETWEEN 65% TO 96% WITH

20. BECAUSE OF THE INCONSISTENT NATURE OF FUEL BEING CONSUMED
IT IS DIFFICULT TO GIVE ACCURATE SAVINGS IN OIL CONSUMPTION.
