1. • Demographics are 'the statistical characteristics of human populations (as
age or income) used especially to identify markets'
• These are called social demographics.
• It can be used by the producer to take note of what social group are most
likely to watch their movie therefore helping shape the creation to appeal
to specific target audiences. The class system consists of 6 levels.
• Producers need to use demographics of their potential audience so they
can know their viewing habits and shape their film to appeal to them.

• We believe the level E would be the best to aim our thriller at, as it includes
students and young people who would be the most likely to enjoy a thriller
film. Younger people buy into the realism of thrillers much more. However as
there are contrasting social groups of people within the demographics- as
pensioners also come in to the level E group of whom aren’t very likely to
invest in a thriller film. It would be wise to aim to include groups A and B as
they will be able to invest in our film the most.
