3. Idaho Shakespeare Festival's Access
Program
For more than 35 years, the Idaho Shakespeare Festival has been
presenting high-quality classic, contemporary, and musical plays in a
scenic outdoor amphitheater. The festival exists not only to present
professional-level work, but also to share the arts with as many people as
possible. To begin, each summer production includes one performance
with American Sign Language interpretation. As a supplement, the
company also maintains a Signing Shakespeare YouTube channel with play
synopses and other educational materials.
4. Idaho Shakespeare Festival's Access
Program
The Idaho Shakespeare Festival also maintains relationships with community
service groups to offer free tickets to individuals with financial limitations.
Similarly, the company's Blue Star Theatre program offers discounted tickets
to active military personnel, while student discounts are available to
patrons with appropriate ID. The theatre also reaches out to children at St.
Luke's Children's Hospital with classes led by the Shakespeare Festival's
School of Theatre teaching artists.
