Michael will do this slide: That being said, let’s talk about BI running on the cloud and the scenarios where it could be most applicable such as marketing launches, events, new games or iphone apps. Imagine using BI to evaluate results quickly and with literally one button push. Well, now I want to show you how easy this can be, I’m going to show you how quickly you can launch a BI project using our new solution….. Michael goes to demo like he did at Cloudworld.
Brian: This is the irst end-to-end totally open source BI, ETL, and Data Warehouse solution running on the cloud. Let’s dive into the details in the following slides.

Brian I mentioned earlier that Vertica is a native cluster database. I’d like to go into a little more detail on how this works. Vertica’s grid architecture is shared nothing – which means that independent nodes are connected only by GigabitEthernet. They have separate CPU, Memory and Disk. This also means that every query can call on the full power of the cluster, so the bigger the cluster the faster your results come back. This gives you near linear scalability and significantly lower hardware costs. Each node is a peer, allowing you to load balance connections, administer from anywhere and query and load in parallel across the cluster.

Brian We have a reference customer using the solution today to optimize their facebook game. Crowdstar’s game Know-it-all has one of the most popular trivia games and has millions of players. The facebook game environment is extremely competitive and game producers have to know exactly what elements of their games are popular, the demos of their most productive players etc. Crowdstar processes 20 million records each day to understand game play using our BI Stack. Now we want to switch over and complete the demo to show you the full power of this solution stack.
