Experiential prototypes targeted at new ways of working Try out newtechnology and seehow ICT – solutionscan support newways of working We developed 2 applicationsfor the MicrosoftSurfacetableaimed at workingtogetherwiththisnewtechnology and Buzzcuit, aninteractive screen to triggerconversationsacrossorganizationalboundaries The customernowuses these prototypes in an “experience room”

5. Developing a wiki introductionstrategy How can we successfully introduce a wikifor knowledge sharing within the company? We developed a wiki introduction strategy and helped the teamto incorporate wiki’s in their own working processes As a result, the customer is nowhelpingotherdepartmentsunderstandhowwiki’scanimprovetheirworkingprocesses

6. Experimentingwithsocial media to increasegroupcohesion We are a distributedgroup. Canyou help us experiment withusingsocial media to improvegroupcohesion? We held a workshop to provide anoverview of thesocial media landscape and set up a series ofexperiments and evaluations of 3 selected tools The customerexperiencedwhat these tools can do (and whatnot!) and cannowmakeaninformeddecisiononwhich tools to use

7. Evaluating a co-working office What are the user experiences of ourco-workingspace and whatare the perceived value factors of the concept? We interviewedusers of the co-workingspaceand held an online survey to gather feedback The customer has obtained a detailed image ofhowpeopleperceive the co-workingspace, whatimprovements are useful and whereuserssee the addedvalue of the space.

Workshop: Business use of virtualworlds Howcan we usevirtualworldsfor business andwhatcan we learnfrom online games aboutthe organzation of work and virtual teams? 29 april 2008in co-operationwith Free University, Amsterdam. Members of the Future Workspaces consortium participated in the workshop and exploredpossibilitiesforcollaboration in thisarea

9. Workshop: EnterpriseSocial Software Sharingexperiences and practical tips onintroducing and usingsocial media withinenterprises 17 september 2008, IBM, Amsterdam,The Netherlands 24 participantsfrom 13 organizationsparticipatedin the knowledge café that was part of the workshop.

10. Workshop: 7 skills of the modern knowledgeworker What are the mainchallenges modern knowledgeworkers are facedwith and whatskills do theyneed to tackle these? In thishighlyinteractive workshop,part of the Innovatieproeftuin 2008, 80 participantsworked in smallgroupsto deriveessentialskills of the modernknowledgeworker, given the challengesthey are facedwith.

Yearlynetworkevent Example:The Professional Playgroundof the Future (June 2009) Over 60 people working in industry, knowledge institutes and government organisations joined to ’see, share, do, create’: learning about playfulness at work and serious gaming, experiencing new technology and exploring ways to use it,while connecting with other professionals.
