10. Boy’s Life Scouts that receive Boy’s Life stay in Scouting an average of 5 years , while those who don’t only 2 years. Scout’s who get Boy’s Life advance faster.

13. Getting Started Continued Click On: First Time User for 2012 Recharter (for first time) Returning User (when entering to make changes before submitting to council)

14. Getting Started Continued Log In: Access code (found on label on front of recharter package) Unit Type (drop dpwn box) Unit # (4 digits and found on recharter package) continue

15. Getting Started Continued Confidentiality Statement Review and click on “I agree” Enter Contact information then click “register” Review 5 stage process then click begin

16. Getting Started Continued YOU MUST SELECT “LOAD COUNCIL INFORMATION.” DO NOT USE THE “UPLOAD UMS FILE.” If you select UMS file you will remove the codes causing you to pay for members already paid.

17. Getting Started Continued From point of update roster follow the directions. A. Update Roster B. Check Roster C. Update Fees D. Submit Roster E. Print recharter F. After printing recharter, please indicate who the unit’s advancement and training chair are. Write to the left of the appropriate name: 112 advancement chair 128 training chair Use the calculations sheet in packet to figure amount due.

21. Blue Ribbon Unit Program REQUIREMENTS: Be a Journey to Excellence Silver or Gold Unit. Participate in Scout Show with a booth and $500 minimum in sales FOS presentation at Blue & Gold or Court of Honor Sell minimum of $500 in popcorn sales Recharter completed and turned in on time.

Blue Ribbon Continued Unit is Blue Ribbon when completed all 6 requirements Blue Ribbon pays for rank advancements for cubs and scouts Any unit not a blue ribbon needs to pay for summertime pack award, world conservation, Emergency Preparedness, and National Den Awards NOT INCLUDED: Merit Badges, activity pins, Badges of office and replacement badges

23. Journey to Excellence Filled out and returned with recharter Signed by Cubmaster or Scoutmaster, Committee Chair and Commissioner When recharter and everything turned in look at Journey to Excellence for next year for the requirements have changed and start planning on what you need to do to be a silver or gold unit.
