For the past few years Coca-Cola Amatil Indonesia (CCAI) and Quiksilver Indonesia have been joint forces with their actions and campaign of ‘Cleaning Up Bali Beaches”. This great initiative was based on the growing concerns that Bali beaches are potentially becoming “giant rubbish dumps” if no one starts doing something about it.
By working very closely with the local Banjars and creating jobs for 75 Balinese people to be part of the “Coca-Cola Quiksilver Beach Clean Up Team” the results have been slowly enjoyed by millions of tourists and local residents.
Our next objective is to challenge industry to ‘get involved’ through contribution and fun and raise enough funding for the next set of Beach Clean Up Equipment to be owned by the local community but operated through the existing Bali Beach Clean Up Program under the coordination of Coca-Cola Amatil Indonesia and Quiksilver Indonesia. We are organising a series of events to kick off our initiatives. One of them is a charity event "BALI\'S BIG ECO WEEKEND GOLF TOURNAMENT, which will take place at Nirwana Golf Club Bali on Friday, 6th July 2012.
