As president of Chandler, Arizona-based Healthcare Provider Connections, Heather Burke assists health plans with Network Development and Provider Contract Negotiations. She has successfully built networks for multiple HMO and PPO networks across the country. In this role, Ms. Burke has developed a network strategy approach, recruited targeted providers, and negotiated contract language and fee schedules. She’s also responsible for managing several consultants, operations, marketing, accounting and everything it takes to run a successful business. While with Amerigroup prior to her current role, she built managed care networks for Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, and ABD products. Ms. Burke negotiated contract language, terms, and rates with hospitals, IPA's, PHO's, physician groups, and ancillary providers. She also performed orientations and credentialing site visits, responded to state complaints, second and third level payment appeal review and determination, claim adjustments and exceptions, and general servicing of providers. In 2008 Ms. Burke started “Plan for Success,” a business development company that assists small business owners with business planning, strategic marketing, and ongoing consulting. Burke takes the techniques she mastered from developing new business for health care organizations and tailors it to fit any industry and create success.
