Mango tree is a woody plant that can grow over 5 meters tall, originating from India but commonly found in Indonesia. The mango tree has a branching root system that can extend up to 6 feet underground. The bark of the mango tree trunk is gray-brown to black in color with small pores, and contains cambium. Mango leaves are oval shaped, dark green, and have parallel veins. Mango flowers are compound and large, around 6-7 millimeters, consisting of male and hermaphrodite flowers. Mango fruits vary in type and contain thick, fibrous flesh rich in vitamins A, B, C and B2.
