The NCOHF Oral Health Zone Program is a community approach to solving a global problem and the core of all NCOHF activities supporting a comprehensive, community-based approach to promote oral health.
NCOHF Oral Health Zone Programs will engage community stakeholders to help break the cycle of severe tooth decay and the devastating effects is has on their community.
All America’s ToothFairy Affiliates share a passionate commitment to providing the very best integrated education, prevention and treatment programs for vulnerable children.
Chaired by Dr. Gordon Christensen, Practices of Distinction
this special America’s ToothFairy® program provides a giving opportunity that helps dentists generate positive publicity for their practice while helping children in need.
The Practice of Distinction Program provides dentists with tools to increase exposure among current and potential patients while helping at-risk children in need of vital oral health services. These promotional tools include news releases, videos, content for patient newsletters and social media, community education kit for
staff to use in schools, children’s programs and community events, and FREE America’s ToothFairy Kids Club membership to offer patients and their families providing personalized letters from the ToothFairy along with fun, educational activities that encourage children to keep their teeth clean and healthy.
Chaired by Michele Darby, BSDH, MS, Anna Pattison, RDH, MS, Maria Perno Goldie, RDH, MS and Rebecca Wilder, RDH, MS, the Esther Wilkins Education Program from National Children’s Oral Health Foundation: America’s ToothFairy®, a non-profit organization supporting oral health education and care for vulnerable children, has volunteers in all 50 states, Canada and military bases around the world. Established with a founding gift from Dr. Esther Wilkins, this program provided dental hygiene professionals and students with engaging oral health lessons for their outreach activities.
Aligning with this mission, Esther Wilkins Education Program volunteers are supplied with America’s ToothFairy Community Education Kits that include basic nutrition information and prevention strategies appropriate for prenatal through young adult learning levels. Using the Community Education Kits, program volunteers have reached thousands of children and families with vital oral health education and preventive strategies.
Students United with America’s ToothFairy chapters organize and conduct health fairs and screenings, fundraising events, and implement educational and prevention-oriented programs. These programs, projects and activities encompass and further the America’s ToothFairy mission. A Toolkit, banner, fundraising templates and technical support are provided along with America’s ToothFairy Community Education Kits. A mini-grant will be provided as initial program funding and the opportunity to apply for additional funding will be made available to help sustain and expand each chapter.
America’s ToothFairy Kids Club promotes good oral health habits through fun, educational activities and Tips from the ToothFairy. Quarterly newsletters and fun activities help children learn how to maintain their happy, healthy smile for a lifetime! Online enrollment makes is easy for parents or caregivers to sign up the special child in their life.
America’s ToothFairy Community Education Kits, fundraising templates and access to technical support are provided to Students United with America’s ToothFairy high school and college level students. Students can take a leadership role in building healthier communities by promoting positive oral health behaviors, while building their college applications or resumes.
