Stress is nothing else but a kind of pressure that affects a person in his daily life.It could be physical stress in form of frequent headaches, high blood pressure, chest pain etc or it could be emotional or behavioural stress like anger, sadness excess drinking etc.
It is a thought that as many as 50% visits to the doctor are directly related to stress. And there is no certain remedy to cure it also. Yoga is a well proven best stress buster.
Lots of people think that yoga is just limit to stretching or twisting the body into various impossible-looking shapes. But yoga is surely more than that.
The word Yoga means Union in Sanskrit and it unites the mind, body and breath. Yoga can help you become more balanced, calm, focused, and relaxed as you go through life’s usual ups and downs.

WHAT IS STRESS ?
Stress is the reaction people have to excessive pressures or other types of demand placed upon them. It
arises when they worry that they can’t cope.
Stress is the “wear and tear” our minds and bodies experience as we attempt to cope with our continually
changing environment

GENERAL ADAPTATION SYNDROME
A. ALARM RESPONSE : This is the “ Fight or Flight” response that prepares the body for
immediate action.
B. ADAPTATION PHASE : If the source persists, the body prepares for long-term
protection, secreting hormones to increase blood sugar levels. This phase is common
and not necessarily harmful, but must include periods of relaxation and rest to
counterbalance the stress response. Fatigue, concentration lapses, irritability and
lethargy result as the stress turns negative.
C. EXHAUSTION : In chronic stress situations, sufferers enter the exhaustion phase:
emotional, physical and mental resources suffer heavily, the body experiences ‘
adrenal exhaustion’ leading to decreased stress tolerance, progressive mental and
physical exhaustion, illness and collapse.
