2. • We went to the AMUL plant where we learnt about its history and the products
that are manufactured.
• Afterwards, we watched its movie. It narrated how the name ‘AMUL’ came up,
how it was commenced and also about Dr. Verghese Kurien.
• Post – movie, we were taken to the manufacturing plant where we witnessed the
machines used in manufacturing the products.

3. • Formed in 1946, is a dairy cooperative movement in India
• A brand name managed by the Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation
(GCMMF)
• “TRIBHUVAN DAS” became the founding chairmen of the organization which he
led till his last day of his life .
• He hired Dr. Kurien after3 years
• Under his (Dr. Kurien) guidance Amul became the largest food brand in India and
has ventured and market overseas

• Chairman Shri Chandrakantbhai Patel
• Average collection of Milk 3900 lit (in summer) and around 4500 per day lit (in
winter)
• Cooperative open twice in a day morning at 6 AM & evening at 6:30 PM
• Buffalo Milk Rs 60 and Cow Milk is Rs 45
• Average fat % for Buffalo is 7.3 and Cow is 4
• Total approx 7400 population in the village but only 200 are active members
• The cooperative has funded much of the village development work, including
construction of roads, village school and primary health centre
• Cooperative give to Farmers 4.6 crore till last year but this year they will provide 25
% extras Bonus to farmers.

8. • India’s first student Dairy
• NDDB, AMUL and ICAR are the main supporting organizations for Vidya Dairy
• It provides 1 year hands on training in 4 different modules
• It provides R&D facilities in the fields of product development, dairy engineering,
process technology, packing and essential plant management-related subjects.
• It has 1.2 lakh litres of silo capacity to hold raw and pasteurized milk,
• It is the first student dairy in India which has an automatic plant for milk reception
and processing.
• It has an effluent treatment plant to treat all liquid waste, in accordance with the
statutory requirement for waste water discharge.

9. • Tribhuvandas Foundation is an Integrated Rural Health & Development Programme of Amul
• Est. in 1975 by Trubhuvan Kishibhai Patel
• It majors aims are to provide
- Primary health care in nominal prices
- Non formal education for pre-school children
• The Foundation has a dedicated Team of Medical Officers, Nurses, Administrative staff, Dais
(Traditional Birth Attendants) and Village Health Workers
• Joined Hands with Ministry of women & Child Development in 2002 and launched universal child
Helpline no 1098
• Anyone can take the medical facilities but in the case of authorised Amul Farmers they get
somehow additional facilities in case of any such emergency
• Foundation has become one of Asia’s largest community healthcare service providers covering
more than 700 villages

12. • Founder - The Aga Khan shah karim
• The Foundation concentrates its resources on selected issues in health, education,
rural development and environment
• It started in 1985 at Gujarat India
• In 2005 moved to MP (Madhya Pradesh)
• Running 4 months Development courses for Tribal students
• Major Project in Bihar is working for Goatery
• New Project is coming in Bihar for “Increase the Pulses Production “

13. • Through this visit, i gained information and practical knowledge about Various
manufacturing process of the different milk products
• I also become aware about safety procedure to be followed during the
manufacturing process of milk product.
• Apart I also got to know about how Milk co-operative society works
• How SEWA and Aga Khan Foundation are changing the rural India
• I also got to know about how to get more productivity with the available
resources.
• Finally i benefitted a lot from this visit as i got several chances to discuss with
different experts.
