This document outlines the agenda for a lecture on military applications of artificial intelligence, which will include a guest lecture from retired Lieutenant General Jack Shanahan. The lecture will review the Department of Defense budget for fiscal years 2020 and 2021, including total budget amounts by appropriation category and budgets for the Army, Navy, Air Force, and major weapons programs. 8. Mid-Term Assignment
Write a 4 page or less advocacy paper describing whether the
current allocation of resources is adequate, and if not- how
you would reallocate money in a way that best serves
national security objectives. You should make an argument to
Congress analyzing why and how the DoD budget priorities
should change in light of your views on the and preparedness
of US and allied forces to deter and prevail in future conflicts.
Specifically, address your memo to Rep. Seth Moulton, D-
Mass., and Rep. Jim Banks, R-Ind. who lead the bipartisan
House Armed Services Committee.
