And whoever disbelieves, let not his disbelief
grieve you; to Us is their return, then will We
inform them of what they did surely Allah is the
Knower of what is in the breasts.

We give them to enjoy a little, then will We
drive them to a severe chastisement.

Lessons to Learn from Verses 23 & 24
1. One of the ways used to recognize things around us and to choose the right
path is to compare the good people from the bad people. ( ‫َن‬‫م‬‫م‬ِ‫ل‬‫س‬ُ‫ی‬‫وجهه‬...‫و‬‫َن‬‫م‬
‫)كفر‬
2. The Prophet was concerned about everyone – even those who were misguided
and disbelievers and he worked to guide them. ( ‫فالیحزنك‬‫كفرهم‬ )
3. The Prophets are also in need of consoling from God. ( ‫فالیحزنك‬‫كفرهم‬ )
4. The responsibility of the leaders towards the Divine is to merely guide people
– they are not responsible for the outcome which the people choose. ( ‫و‬‫َن‬‫م‬‫كفر‬
‫فال‬‫یحزنك‬‫كفره‬ )

5. The disbelief of the people has an outcome on their eventual fate. ( ‫فالیحزنك‬
‫مرجعهم‬ ‫الینا‬ ‫)كفره‬
6. The disbelievers should not rejoice as their eventual end is the house of
retribution. (‫مرجعهم‬ ‫)الینا‬
7. The beginning and end of all humans is only God. (‫مرجعهم‬ ‫)الینا‬
8. There are two things which give way to a spiritually expansive heart and the
removal of all grief for the believers in regards to the deviance of others – one
is their focus on the knowledge of God and the other is their reliance on a Day
of Judgement. ( ‫مرجعهم‬ ‫الینا‬ ‫كفره‬ ‫فالیحزنك‬...‫دور‬ّ‫ص‬‫ال‬ ‫بذات‬ ‫علیم‬ )

9. On the Resurrection, everyone will be brought face to face with their actions.
(‫عملوا‬ ‫بما‬ ‫ّئهم‬‫ب‬‫)فنن‬
10. Allah knows the intents and reasons for why actions are performed, which are
deep within a person’s heart and He will manifest these on the Resurrection.
( ‫ّئهم‬‫ب‬‫فنن‬...‫دو‬ّ‫ص‬‫ال‬ ‫بذات‬ ‫علیم‬ ّ‫ّللا‬ ّ‫ن‬‫ا‬ )
11. Keeping in mind the punishments on the Resurrection is one way to stop a
person from his obstinacy towards disbelief. (‫عملوا‬ ‫بما‬ ‫ّئهم‬‫ب‬‫)فنن‬
12. We must not let the material blessings beguile us as they are nothing
compared to the everlasting blessings of the world to come. (‫قلیال‬ ‫عهم‬ّ‫ت‬‫)نم‬

13. We must always weigh the pros and cons of our actions with the world to
come. ( ‫عهم‬ّ‫ت‬‫نم‬‫قلیال‬ّ‫م‬‫ث‬‫ّهم‬‫ر‬‫نضط‬‫الى‬‫عذاب‬‫غلیظ‬ )
14. The disbelief which the disbelievers show today is something they
themselves have chosen ( ‫و‬‫َن‬‫م‬‫ر‬َ‫ف‬َ‫ك‬ ) however the punishment of tomorrow
is something obligatory upon them to experience. (‫ّهم‬‫ر‬‫)»نضط‬
15. Material comfort is not a sign of one being felicitous. ( ‫عهم‬ّ‫ت‬‫نم‬‫قلیال‬ّ‫م‬‫ث‬
‫ّهم‬‫ر‬‫نضط‬‫الى‬‫عذاب‬‫غلیظ‬ )

And if you ask them who created the heavens and
the earth, they will certainly say: Allah. Say: (All)
praise is due to Allah; nay! most of them do not
know.

Lessons to Learn from Verses 25
1. Even the polytheists acknowledge Allah is being their creator. ( ‫و‬‫لئن‬‫سألتهم‬‫من‬
‫ق‬َ‫ل‬َ‫خ‬...ّ‫ن‬‫لیقول‬ّ‫ّللا‬ )
2. The polytheists implicitly acknowledge that they are on the wrong path. ( ‫و‬‫لئن‬
‫سألتهم‬‫من‬‫ق‬َ‫ل‬َ‫خ‬...ّ‫ن‬‫لیقول‬ّ‫ّللا‬ )
3. Everything in creation comes from God and thus, it is only He who is worthy
of praise. ( ‫قل‬ّ‫الحمدلل‬ )
4. We should verbally declare our praise and glory of Allah. ( ‫قل‬ّ‫الحمدلل‬ )
5. Normally, the misguidance of the polytheists is due to their ignorance. ( ‫بل‬
‫اكثرهم‬‫الیعلمون‬ )

ِ‫ِن‬

‫غ‬

‫ال‬ َ‫و‬

‫ن‬ِ‫إ‬ ۚ ِ‫ض‬ْ‫ر‬

‫اْل‬َ‫و‬ ِ‫ات‬َ‫او‬َ‫م‬ َّ‫الس‬ ِ‫ِف‬ ‫ا‬َ‫م‬ ِ
َّ
ِ‫َّلل‬
What is in the heavens and the earth is
Allah's; surely Allah is the Self-sufficient,
the Praised.

11. Surah Luqman
Lessons to Learn from Verses 26
1. God does not need anyone or anything – not in His act of creation, nor in
His maintaining the universe. ( ‫خلق‬‫موات‬ ّ‫الس‬...ّ‫لل‬‫ما‬‫فى‬‫موات‬ ّ‫الس‬...‫هو‬ّ‫ى‬‫الغن‬ )
2. It is only God who is the Creator and Maintainer ( ّ‫لل‬‫ما‬‫فى‬‫موات‬ ّ‫الس‬‫و‬‫االرض‬ )
and only He is needless and is worthy of praise ( ّ‫ن‬‫ا‬ّ‫ّللا‬‫هو‬ّ‫ى‬‫الغن‬‫الحمید‬ ).
3. The encouragement to praise God which was mentioned in the previous
verse is NOT because He needs us to praise Him. ( ‫قل‬ّ‫الحمدلل‬...‫هو‬ّ‫ى‬‫الغن‬
‫)الحمید‬
