These are the signs of the Definitive/Wise Book.

ِلت: Used for something ‘far’, but here it is referring to the ‘spiritual’ level of the Qur’an
being something ‘distant’ from most of us.
2. ِِيمكَْ
:ٱْل Definitive/Firm – should only be used for beings with intellect, but here the Qur’an is
described as having ‘Wisdom’ or ‘Immutable’.

Lessons to Learn from Verses 2 and 3
1. Any type of guidance which we wish to engage in must be based on wisdom.

2. The Qur’an is not only a Book of guidance and wisdom, rather it IS the
epitome of guidance and wisdom. (رحمة و )هدى
3. When seeking to guide others, we must employ mercy and compassion.

4. Those who perform ‘righteous’ actions are those who are more apt and
‘ready’ to accept the truth when it is shown to them. (للمحسنین )هدى
