2. Datapwat kayo ay isang lahing
hinirang, mga saserdote ng Hari, isang
bansang nakatalaga sa Diyos. Pinili
kayo ng Diyos upang maging kanya at
maghayag ng mga kahanga-hangang
gawa niya. Siya rin ang tumawag sa
inyo mula sa kadiliman tungo sa
kanyang kagila-gilalas na
kalinawagan. 1 Pedro 2:9
3. - one who is the object of choice
or of divine favor: an elect person
(noun)
- Selected or marked for favor or
special privilege <a chosen few>
(adjective)
4. Kayo’y hinirang ng Diyos Ama ayon sa
kanyang kaalaman sa mula’t mula pa
upang pabanalin ng Espiritu
Santo, maging masunurin kay Jesu-
Cristo at maging malinis sa bisa ng
kanyang pagkamatay…
1 Pedro 1:2
5. People often base their self-
concept on their
accomplishments. But our
relationship with Christ is far
more important than our
jobs, successes, wealth, or
knowledge.
6. We have been chosen by God as
his very own, and we have been
called to represent him to others.
Remember that your value
comes from being one of God’s
children, not from what you can
achieve. You have worth because
of what God does, not because of
what you do.
7. Kung susundin ninyo ako at hindi kayo
sisira sa pakikipagtipan ko sa inyo,
kayo ang magiging bayan kong
hinirang. Ang buong daigdig ay akin
ngunit kayo’y aking itatangi. Kayo’y
gagawin kong bayan ng mga
saserdote na maglilingkod sa akin.’
Iyan ang sabihin mo sa mga Israelita.”
8. Christians sometimes speak of
“the priesthood of all believers.” In
Old Testament times, people did
not approach God directly. A priest
acted as intermediary between
God and sinful human beings. With
Christ’s victory on the cross, that
pattern changed.
9. Now we can come directly into
God’s presence without fear
(Hebrews 4:16), and we are given
the responsibility of bringing
others to him also (2 Corinthians
5:18-21). When we are united with
Christ as members of his body, we
join in his priestly work of
reconciling God and people.
11. Palalakihin niya kayo higit sa ibang
bansa upang maging kapurihan
niya, karangalan, at kaluwalhatian.
Tulad ng sabi niya kayo ay isang
bansa na nakatalaga sa kanya.
Deuteronomio 26:19
12. …who gave himself for us to
redeem us from all wickedness
and to purify for himself a
people that are his very
own, eager to do what is
good.
Titus 2:14
13. For the grace of God that brings
salvation has appeared to all men. It
teaches us to say “No” to
ungodliness and worthy passions,
and to live self-controlled, upright
and godly lives in this present
age…. Titus 2:11-12
14. Why did God choose Israel as his nation?
God knew that no nation on earth was good
enough to deserve to be called his people,
his “special treasure.” He chose Israel, not
because of anything they had done, but in
his love and mercy he chose Israel in spite
of the wrong the nation had done and
would do. Why did he want to have a
special nation on earth? To represent his
way of life, to teach his Word, and to be an
agent of salvation to the world.
15. To show forth his praise…
To declare the praises of
him…
16. If your actions are above
reproach, even hostile
people will end up praising
God.
17. Can you hide a city that is sitting
on top of a mountain? Its light at
night can be seen for miles. If we
live for Christ, we will glow like
lights, showing others what Christ
is like.
18. We hide our light by:
(1) being quiet when we should speak,
(2) going along with the crowd,
(3) denying the light,
(4) letting sin dim our light,
(5) not explaining our light to others, or
(6) ignoring the needs of others. Be a
beacon of truth—don’t shut your light
off from the rest of the world.
19. The glory of God is the great thing
we must aim at in every thing we do.
Whatever you eat or drink or
whatever you do, you must do all for
the glory of God. (1 Corinthians 10:31)
Editor's Notes
Emphasize the importance of being a born-again or child of God…
Maglilingkod ,Why did God choose Israel as his nation? God knew that no nation on earth was good enough to deserve to be called his people, his “special treasure.” He chose Israel, not because of anything they had done, but in his love and mercy he chose Israel in spite of the wrong the nation had done and would do. Why did he want to have a special nation on earth? To represent his way of life, to teach his Word, and to be an agent of salvation to the world. “All the nations of the earth” would be blessed through Abraham’s descendants (Genesis 18:18). Gentiles and kings would come to the Lord through Israel, predicted Isaiah (Isaiah 60:3). Through the nation of Israel, the Messiah, God’s chosen Son, would be born. God chose one nation and put it through a rigorous training program, so that one day it could be a channel for his blessings to the whole world.
Give emphasis to “eager to do what is right”
