2. Technology that I used
Throughout the course of completing my Media coursework I made use of a variety of
different software and programs that were available to me. These included Final Cut
Pro to edit my trailer, Photoshop to create my horror poster and magazine cover and
Prezi to analyse existing horror posters that I could base my own media products
around.
3. Research and Planning
This was the first stage in my media coursework where I needed to carry out analysis of existing media
products that I could gain inspiration from for my own trailer. This is where I was able to use the greenroom
at my college to film my analysis of existing horror trailers which I then edited on a Mac by using final cut
pro. As well as this I used Microsoft Office programs such as Word and PowerPoint in order to carry out
further research on horror posters for example.
4. The construction of my trailer
I also depended heavily on the use of technology when filming, editing and
uploading my trailer. In order to film my trailer I used a college Panasonic Video
Camera along with a tripod for filming at my house. I also used software such as
Adobe Photoshop where I uploaded the original pictures I took for my poster and
magazine and then edited these using a range of different tools. In addition to this
once I had finished editing my trailer I uploaded it to YouTube in order to post it on
my Weebly blog
5. Evaluation
Finally when completing my evaluation
based on my coursework I used websites
like slideshare and Prezi which enabled me
to vary the way that I displayed my
information and meant the visual quality of
my work benefitted from being analysed in
different ways.
