The first task is for you to find out a niche market that you have interest in

and/or familiar with. You can then take it a step further to locate an ebook
idea in the niche market that lots of people want to know something about. It
could be a desperate problem that they want to solve immediately or a desire
that they want to gratify. One of the simplest and best ways to determine if an
ebook idea is viable is to ask questions from your target audience through
surveys and questionnaires by building an email list of subscribers.
Also you can use keyword research tools available on the internet such as the
free Google Keyword Planner to discover search terms that people are
entering into search engines to look for information on your subject. You can
lurk around in forums and go through common questions that forum members
are constantly asking.
Are they having specific but similar problems that they are searching for
immediate solutions? Will they be willing and able to pay for solutions to the
problems they are currently facing if you provide or recommend it?
While you are free to follow the above strategies to select best-selling ebook
topics to write about, remember that you will do well in niche markets where
you have interest or factual knowledge and information. Look at subject areas
where you have specific talents, skills, knowledge or interests and follow it
through.
The essence of going with a subject you are familiar with is that you will be
able to provide valuable information to your readers. Even if it is a free ebook

you are giving away, the valuable information you will provide to your readers
will determine how well they will respond to the paid product that you may
sell to them at a later date.
STEP 2: MEASURE & ASSESS MARKET COMPETITION
If you have selected an ebook topic that lots of people are having interest in,
you must also gauge the market competition for your ebook idea to make sure
the market is not overly saturated when you become a seller as well. It is
important that you research little-known niche market topics instead of the
obvious ones. The competition is usually low with obscure but profitable niche

STEP 3: WRITE YOUR EBOOK PURPOSE STATEMENT
If you decide to write an ebook on a subject because there is relatively high
demand and low competition, the next step is to state clearly the purpose of
your electronic book to your target audience. The message of your ebook is
essentially the focus of your electronic book. It briefly defines the problems
you want to solve and how you want to solve it.
The ebook's purpose statement gives an assurance to the ebook buyer and
reader that investing in your intellectual property is a worthwhile investment
for him or her at the end of the day.
STEP 4: CREATE AN EBOOK OUTLINE
The ebook outline is a brief structure for your ebook which highlights the main
topics and sub-topics that you want to discuss. Your readers should be able to
see at a glance what they want to learn. Creating a structure for your ebook is
easy if you note down the questions people are frequently asking in your
target market. You will simply use these questions to formulate an outline and
provide answers to them in your main ebook, section by section, and chapter
by chapter.

STEP 5: WRITE THE EBOOK
If you religiously follow the ebook writing process explained here, you will
discover that writing ebooks for money is not as difficult as you may think. But
before writing an ebook, the first task is to plan and organize your work and
outline it accordingly.
