Messiah Of The Masses Summary
This paper is a review of the book Messiah of the Masses: Huey P. Long and the Great Depression.
The book was about the life history of Huey P. Long during the great depression era. The author of
this book was Glen Jeansonne and it was edited by Oscar Handlin. In 1993 this book was published by
Addison Wesley Educational Publishers Inc. There are many pros and some cons in this book but
overall it was a very interesting book. The author s goal was to educate everyone about the
misunderstood Huey P. Long. I agree that Jeansonne did accomplish his goal of doing that while
keeping a steady and fine flow throughout the book. It is also a good narration on human nature during
the time of the great depression. The only cons I have about the book was that it was very hard to
comprehend at points. I assume it was because I need to extend my vocabulary. Also, I did not like
how the book criticized Huey P. Long a lot. Even though he was somewhat a bad person I believe the
author could have put more accomplishments. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Long is how he believed that was a master politician. I agree with this very much because of the way
Jeansonne wrote about his campaigning strategy. He basically had citizens of Louisiana wrapped
around his fingers by telling them what they wanted to hear. In chapter 7 it said that a national
correspondent wrote, They do not merely vote for him, they worship the ground he walks on... (p.142)
Also in chapter 3, Jeansonne supported his argument when he talked about how Huey limited his
points in a speech to only five points. Afterwards he stated that an assistant of Huey said, Smith
compared this tactic to promising a child a red bicycle for Christmas. (p.44) This view closely aligns
with my reasoning for my position of agreeing because he would talk about doing things and no one
would question how they got

Nfl Draft Research Paper
In last month s NFL draft, the Philadelphia Eagles did the complete opposite of what everybody
thought they would do and did not take a running back. Leading up to the draft, many analysts had the
Eagles taking LSU s Derrius Guice in the first round, who ultimately fell to the second round to the
Washington Redskins. After the draft, the Eagles attacked the undrafted free agent market and signed
former Notre Dame running back Josh Adams. Also on that same day, the team announced that they re
signed veteran Darren Sproles to a one year deal. With Sproles back in the fold, the Eagles top three
running backs seemed to be in place with Corey Clement and Jay Ajayi leading the committee. Eagles
Executive Vice President of Football Operations Howie Roseman was not done, however, as the team
signed former Washington Redskins bruising back Matt Jones to a ... Show more content on

Those two backs are Wendell Smallwood and Donnel Pumphrey. Smallwood was drafted in the fifth
round of the 2016 NFL draft but has struggled to see the field. Pumphrey, however, was drafted last
year in the fourth round but was placed on injured reserve due to poor play. I have to play better or
else my job will not be here, Pumphrey said to Ed Kracz of The Eagles Wire. It s definitely an
interview here every day. These guys (the coaching staff and front office personnel) are watching
every move, so whether it s off the field or whether it s in the building, you have to stay on top of your
stuff. Therefore, what do the Eagles do about this situation? It is a good spot to be in because in the
NFL, you can never have too many running backs. One has to believe that the last spot for the fourth
running back job will come down to Jones, Adams, Smallwood, and Pumphrey. Each of these guys
does one thing really well that can help the Eagles this upcoming

Assignment Analysis Essay
For this assignment I chose to analyze the genre of billboard advertisements. As very large signs
posted in public places, billboards are seen by many people, and therefore must appeal to a wide range
of audience. Many can be seen along roadways, although they appear in spaces with high pedestrian
traffic like urban areas and shopping centers. Just as they appeal to a large audience, billboards
address a wide range of topics. A majority of billboards are advertisements trying to sell a product, but
some may be to raise awareness for a cause or to spread public service announcements. The purpose
of the billboard depends on the author, which can range from a single individual running for an office
to an international corporation marketing a new ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They layout is typically very simple because these signs are not viewed for long, and so must be
immediately understandable and able to communicate their message in a matter of seconds. This
viewing time limits the amount of text they can include, in addition to the fact that they must be
readable from long distances, so the text must be large and bold. Billboards will typically have few
words, and at most a few sentences. The wording may be a short message, which typically appeals to
logos or pathos by giving a reason the product is better, or somehow connecting to the audience s
emotional perception of it. In the cases of the appeal to logos, it is common to use strong absolute
words like best or fastest, which may sound convincing, but often are not substantiated by evidence
given the limit on how much can fit on the board. The text may also include a phone number or
website which the audience can go to for more information once their attention has been caught by the
sign. The funeral home s sign is an excellent example in that it only contains the three words Text and
Drive to catch attention, then provides the name of the funeral home, but directly providing very little
information. In this way, billboards can serve as a genre to direct readers to works of other genres like
a brochure or video on the company website. The image component often appeals to pathos by
effecting some

Sigmund Freud Theories
Sigmund Freud s Theories in Relation to Brave New World
One might imagine, what could truly constitute A brave new world? What parameters must that world
fall within? What decisive mind is manning the ship headed toward this utopia? Certainly, this world
has seen innumerous attempts, heard the many strident voices, which barreled forth and propelled
society toward that image. One of those voices belonged to Sigmund Freud, the father of
psychoanalysis, and even, perhaps, a deity of this brave new world.
Sigmund Freud was born May 6th, 1856, in Frieberg, Moravia to a textile dealer named Jacob Freud
(Chiriac, Jean, Sigmund Freud s Childhood ). He was one of eight children, five sisters and three
brothers. The family lived in Frieberg until Sigmund was four years old, when the family then moved
to Vienna where Sigmund would remain for the vast majority of his life. By 1873, Freud would go on
to study medicine at the University of Vienna. Freud went get engaged in 1882, to a women who
would bear him six children. The relationship has been largely considered and happy, prosperous
union (Thornton, Stephan).
In 1938, shortly after the Annexation of Austria, Freud s home in Vienna was raided by Nazis. Any of
Freud s works written before May of 1933 were burned for their flippant destigmatization of sexuality
( Sigmund Freud and the Holocaust ). With a minimal understanding of the who and the why of
Sigmund Freud, one can move in to comprehending the true girth of his discovery

My Experience At Panera Bread
Life teaches us lessons every day. Sometimes when we are in the midsts of frustration or confusion we
never see clearly or understand the lesson from the situations we are put in. It is only through
moments of reflection when a person can begin to see how certain situations have shaped their way of
thinking or doing things. For a little over half a year, I worked a part time job during my senior year of
high school at Panera Bread. During my time there i was able to observe and see all kinds of different
family dynamics and people walk through the door every day. It was strange, it was different, and it
was amazing all at the same time to see all of those different walks of life. A favorite memory of mine
there that I will never forget occurred on Super Bowl Sunday night. Looking back on my experience
from that frustrating night, I find that i learned the value of teamwork, work relationships, and I
learned how the most unpleasant situations can turn into great unexpected surprises. To start at the
very beginning, I have always had this certain manager that i could never really get along with
workwise. Her name was Melissa and she was a corporate trained manager, making her more official
and strict then the other managers and always going by the books . She was a short, long grey haired
women that always wore these glasses that made her look like an old scary librarian. She had the
nickname monster mo among the employees at the store for a reason. It was a fact known

Analysis Of Behind The Beautiful Forevers
Over the course of this semester our Sociology class was required to read Behind the Beautiful
Forever s. Throughout the novel the characters stories are singled out in order for readers to have a
better understanding of the challenges they faced. The novel begins in Mumbai in the slums of
Annawadi where the main characters are introduced. The novel then goes into detail about the
struggles these people are going through because of the poverty they live in. It is heartbreaking to read
because their situations only seem to get worse. The people of Annawadi are affected negatively by
the local and global changes. Although it seems all hope is lost it does not stop them from dreaming
big and working hard. With positive attitudes and having the want to change anything is possible, and
the people of Annawadi can change their situations. Behind the Beautiful Forever s is a landmark
novel of people working for a better life when all odds are against them.
Research Paper in Sociology:
Behind the Beautiful Forever s
The novel begins in the Mumbai slums where it is every man for themselves. People live on top of one
another near an international airport and luxury hotels. The living conditions are harsh, and people
must be thrifty scavengers in order to survive and overcome the challenges. It is difficult because it
seems everyone is taking advantage of the slum residence and taking away opportunities for them to
better themselves. One of the main characters is Abdul

Guideline For The Treatment Of Early And Established RA
Treatment of Early and Established RA How treatment for early and established RA differs based on
current and evidence based practice? According to the 2015 Guideline for the treatment of RA
developed by the ACR, the approach to treat early and established RA is different. The treatment
recommendations by the ACR for early and established RA are as follows: Early RA: The early RA is
defined as RA with duration of disease/symptoms of 6 months (Singh et al., 2016, p.4) and duration
does not represent the time since RA diagnosis, but the length of time the patient has had symptoms.
The treatment of the early RA begins with DMARDs i.e. methotrexate as monotherapy along with

The treatment of the established RA begins with DMARDs i.e. methotrexate as monotherapy along
with short term glucocorticoids ( 3 months for RA disease flares). However, if the symptoms persist
on methotrexate a combination therapy or single therapy with biologic DMARDs can be started. The
combination therapy includes two/more nonbiologic DMARDs alone or methotrexate with biologic
DMARDs. The low dose glucocorticoids (10 mg/day of prednisone) for short term can be used during
combination therapy. If the single biologics or combination therapy fails, the steps shown in the
flowchart (see figure 5) should be followed to treat established RA. Figure 5: 2015 ACR
recommendations for the treatment of established RA Indication: * = consider adding low dose
glucocorticoids (10 mg/day of prednisone or equivalent) in patients with moderate or high RA disease
activity when starting traditional disease modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs) and in patients
with DMARD failure or biologic failure. † = also consider using short term glucocorticoids (defined
as 3 months treatment) for RA disease flares. Glucocorticoids should be used at the lowest possible
dose and for the shortest possible duration to provide the best benefit risk ratio for the patient. # =
treatment target should ideally be low disease activity or remission. ** = tapering denotes scaling back
therapy (reducing dose or dosing frequency), not discontinuing it and if done, must be

the past is the past and it will never come back. So to adjust your philosophy and creativity in fashion
to the time you re living in is the most important thing. Donatella Versace
In each of Flannery O Connor s stories there is a very different perspectives in the stories also in the
different time periods. Each of these women bring a very different look on life. This is not always a
good thing. We see that some of these women only want to dwell in the past, to never move forward,
always hoping to move backwards instead. They are still living in the past because the present and the
future seem scary. O Connor introduces Mrs. Hopewell, the Grandmother, and Julian s Mother who
are main characters in her stories. Each of these women believe in something that does not exist
anymore. O Connor does not allow us the privilege of knowing their first name or even much about
these ladies. Each of these women show people their southern take on the world which conveys an
extremely patronizing attitude on life. Their world is changing and if they wanted to they could have
grabbed ahold of it. They have a chance to explore these new changes although they seem unwilling.

Cultural Critique Of Japanese Cafes
Cultural Critique of Japanese Cafés In Japan, there are many aspects that make it attractive to the
human eye. One of those things is the abundant kawaii attributes. Kawaii is a Japanese word used to
reference things that are cute or adorable. A couple of examples would be kitty keychains, ice cream
earrings, and pink owl sharpeners. However, they don t always have to be something small. Another
common attraction in Japan that s considered kawaii are the various themed cafés, or restaurants. The
cafés in Japan are wildly different and diverse from the typical American cafés and they usually
include a signature theme, such as cats, ninjas, and maids. The most common café in Japan is the
typical maid café. This is where the waitresses usually dress up in a maid costume and talk to the
customers as if they were their master . Patrick Galbraith wrote an article that goes in depth about
maid cafés. In his article he mentions, Maid cafés first appeared in the late 1990s in Akihabara, Japan,
an area where dating simulation games were sold and players gathered. Maid cafés extended relations
with fictional characters from media to physical reality, allowing players to interact with fictional
characters in human form, while at the same time interacting with humans who perform characters
(GalBraith). So people would go to these cafés as a way to bring their dating simulation games to life.
It could also be a great way for people who are lonely, to find a connection with

Bee Husbandry Has A Long Tradition
Bee husbandry has a long tradition throughout the world, with many areas developing their own
unique practices. Some practices have become so successful in their native region that they have been
imported by other regions to facilitate honey and wax production. One region in particular has
developed technology and techniques without which beekeeping would have been significantly
retarded in its development. The Carniolan region of Europe, now in Slovenia, formerly in Yugoslavia
and before that the Austro Hungarian Empire, is home to one of the most successful and rich traditions
of Bee husbandry within the sphere of contemporary knowledge. The Slavic people of Carniola have
developed techniques of disease management, revolutionized hive ... Show more content on

This fact alone speaks to the depth of the Slovenian beekeeping tradition, but that is only the
beginning of the story. While the rest of Europe were using the traditional straw skep hive
(Supplementary Figure S1), Carniolan beekeepers were using their wooden bee houses
(Supplementary Figure S2) which contained multiple reusable hives composed of movable frames
(Rojina, 1917). The impact these hives had when Slovenian beekeeper Anton Jansa introduced them to
the broader Austro Hungarian Empire was massive. Apiary production soared, the total value of
Austria s production alone multiplying by five times in a year (Rojina, 1917). Traditional skep hives
were destroyed, and the bee colony along with them, during the harvesting process. Additionally, they
were hotbeds of disease because they could not be opened for inspection or treatment. The Carniolan
hive allowed easy inspection and treatment, as well as permitted harvesting without destroying the bee
colony. These hives were the forerunners of today s most common hive, the Langstroth. These
accomplishments of Carniolan culture were generated by both the landed gentry and the common
farmer, but the main subject of this essay, the painted hive panels, truly transcended class as a form of
expression even the poorest beekeeper could indulge in. In Slovenia, there is one man whom is
celebrated as the greatest beekeeper in history, and his name is Anton Jansa (1734 1773) (Rojina,

Self Driving Cars
Imagine laying in bed watching your favorite movie, playing your favorite video game, or listening to
your favorite song. Now, imagine that on your way to work or to the store. Self driving cars could
make this a possibility. We have been tinkering with ideas for autonomous vehicles for almost a
century and a few companies have even been successful in designing a fully functioning self driving
car. Roads full of these video game esque cars controlled by artificial intelligence or other means of
autonomy may not be as distant in the future as one might think. This, being a drastic change in the
way we travel, could cause many issues. Due to these potential issues, it is in our best interest to raise
questions before we implement these technologies. One possible question is: have we thought out any
ramifications this might cause, and if so, do we have an approach to fix them? Engineers have been
tinkering with ideas for driverless vehicles since the 1920s. In 1925 the first driverless car, named the
Linrrican Wonder, was taken through traffic jams up broadway and across fifth avenue in New York.
The Linrrican Wonder was controlled by a car following behind sending radio signals to small electric
motors. Later, in 1953, RCA Laboratories designed a mini car that ran along wires on the floor. Five
years later, they built a full sized model and demonstrated it by putting detector circuits under the road
that sent signals to the car and controlled the steering and brakes. RCA

Ariel Dorfman
I thoroughly enjoyed the message written by Ariel Dorfman in the essay The Black Hole. Stories of
individuals looking back and remembering the past, with a trail of hopes fear, and destruction are
always the stories that truly affect me because they don t just show the strength and vitality of hero in
a fight. Rather, these stories show them being weak, confused and almost hopeless. Ariel doesn t just
tell us about the positives of what he has done, but also the negative effect of what has been done to
those around him by his actions. Ariel was fighting for the freedom of himself, and all of those around
him. He was fighting for everyone that was suppressed by the government. The quote At some point

Games as was the Balcony in palace of La Moneda in Santiago where Ariel first witnessed President
Salvador Allende speaking. In both situations someone stood up and spoke against the government,
both places were the front, in some individuals minds, for the rebellion. Because of their significance,
both places were destroyed for that act of rebellion. Throughout the essay Ariel tells of us how the
actions made by himself and others were precisely what brought them to the point of being exiled and
killed. This is much the same as the point in The Hunger Games when the main character Katniss
Everdeen and all of District 12 have been forced to flee their homes, because she was the face of the
rebellion. This happened because the government wanted to make a point to any and all people who
thought to stand against them. Just as Ariel s government was making their own

Hero Vs Perseus
Introduction: Hook, background information, title of the works, and thesis statement
Body Paragraph 1: Explain how the hero s courage embodies the definition of a hero
Body Paragraph 2: Explain how the hero s outstanding achievements embody the definition of a hero
Body Paragraph 3: Explain how the hero s noble qualities embody the definition of a hero
Body Paragraph 4: Explain why others would be wrong to believe the other hero is the better example
Conclusion: Rephrase your thesis and main ideas, and leave your audience with something insightful
As a child, I, and many other kids had a very loose definition of a hero , we had no grasp of the
qualities of a true hero: courage, honor, strength, etc. In the story of Perseus, the hero goes on an
adventure of gods and monsters showing great courage and strength to defeat the monster Gorgon to
save his kingdom and mother. In the story of Odyseus, a man cursed by the gods he forsake uses his
courage and battle hardiness to guide his crew safely back home after being steered off course by
Poseidon. Both heroes show the qualities in their heroic deeds and actions, they are both wonderful
examples of a hero however their stories show us that one is more noble and honorable in his deeds.
Between the two stories, The Odyssey, and Perseus, Perseus is the more heroic of the two, just through
his reasons and actions throughout his adventure. Mark Twain defines courage by saying Courage is
resistance to fear, mastery of fear

F. D. Salinger s Catcher Of The Rye
J. D. Salinger s Catcher in the Rye features a complex narrative surrounding a troubled young student,
Holden Caulfield. Difficulties he faces throughout the story force Holden to confront his fears of
adulthood and maturation and the responsibilities therein through the difficulties he faces throughout
the story. Academic controversy surrounds whether Holden learns from these confrontations and
adjust accordingly, maturing throughout the story. While initially this seems rather subjective, a
thorough analysis of Holden s actions throughout the story as well as of the symbolism injected by
Salinger makes it quite clear that Holden does undergo a significant maturity arc as the story
progresses. Holden s social development and maturation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Despite his longing for acceptance, His efforts to connect with any stereotypical kid his age result in
abject failure (Privitera 204). Salinger thoroughly emphasizes this through Holden s relationships with
Stradlater and Ackley, with both of whom he has a strenuous and artificial relationship, demonstrated
by his internal, flippant commentaries on his peers as he discusses them in the book (Salinger 31 40).
Holden s peers ostracize him due to his more introspective and introverted nature, as seen in Stradlater
s angry response to Holden s reflective response to this writing assignment, saying that he doesn t do
one damn thing the way [he s] supposed to (Salinger 47). These difficulties stem not from deficiencies
of his peers, but rather a problem of Holden s refusal to accept anything different from what he
expects, making excuses about his reasons throughout the book to cover his actions. His
rationalization of his internal wants and desires impedes any proper connection he could possibly
make with his peers. He, Subconsciously longs to be accepted yet feels he cannot make the connection
(Privitera 205). This directly correlates with Holden s dubbing of many people, practices, or labeling
things as phony. He refers to the school and each of the students individually as phony, and calling
out, Sleep tight, ya morons! (59) when he leaves Pencey for the last time. This demonstrates Holden s
use of phoniness to describe anything that doesn t meet his

The Case Of Henry And Oni
The case study that will be discussed will be Henry and Oni. Henry is a 38 year old born a French
Canadian but primary raised in the United States. Oni is a 48 year old was born and raised in the
United States but part Nigeria and African American. This is the first marriage of Henry but second for
Oni. No first marriage only last two years because of her ex husband cheating. The couple is madly in
love with each other but worry about the recent fighting and sexual tension. Oni does not want to have
sex with her husband because she has recently caught him watching pornography. Henry started
watching pornography as a release of sexual starvation. Oni confused that she felt violated when
Henry tried to have sex with her during her sleep. She describes feeling like one of those woman he
watches in his videos. The purpose of choosing this particular case study was because there was a
connection of relating to Oni feelings. Initially, the assumption was made that Oni is feeling that her
faith and trust in their marriage has been broken because of Henry s activities because of her prior
experience with her ex husband cheating. Furthermore, the connection of Henry feeling sexual starved
is understandable considering his needs are not being met. Clinical Theory The clinical theory chosen
for this clinical evaluation is Solution Focused Based Theory (SFBT). SFBT would be an appropriate
theoretical approach to take with this couple to formulate solutions and

Demographic Transition Research Paper
Demographic and Environmental Transition
Demographic transition involves the changes a less industrialized country undergoes regarding birth
rates and death rates from being an industrialized country. The change implies the reduction of birth
and mortality rates from a less industrialized country into an industrialized country with reduced birth
and death rates. Several countries, especially the European countries, exemplify this mode of
transition in their historical information. Besides, the changes involved in demographic transition
filters down to the environment in the long run. The surrounding environment suffers from the
expanded industrialization and due to the demographic transition (Smout, 2009).

increased number of industries led to the establishment of Environmental Control Policies. These
policies intended to control the level of pollution activities in England.
Stage 5 1991 present The modern industrialization period stands out as a more modern and scientific
period as compared to the previous years. The level of technology applied in the modern industries in
England continues to rise day by day. Presently, more established companies exist in England, all
specializing in different levels of products.
The patterns of death and birth rates continue to decline due to the invention of better scientific
preventive and control mechanisms. However, the population level depicts a steady rise regarding the
number and distribution. England embodies several visions and policy statements which aim at
controlling the population levels by the year 2030. The goals seek to achieve a more balanced

herself. She went through a lot meeting different people specifically men to help her understand what
she really wanted in her future. Throughout her life, Janie was on a mission to chase her dreams and
find her happiness by experiencing new horizons, which suggest that in order to be happy one has to
push out of the comfort zone. Janie was the kind of woman who was always striving for better things.
While living in a small town, she always dreamed of living in a better place. From a young age, she
was bold enough to be sure she wasn t going to stay with her grandma for a long time. This was
because her Nanny was always sure to shrink her horizons, and Janie didn t appreciate that. She was
like that with Janie because when she was growing up, she never had the chance to better herself so

Write An Essay On The Event In Las Vegas
When a human life is taken unexpectedly it s unfortunate; when 58 people are murdered and 489
others wounded then it is a cataclysmic disaster. This is exactly what happened on what was meant to
be a fun filled night in Las Vegas the evening of October 1, 2017. Thousands gathered in the Sin City
to enjoy an outdoor concert when fire opened unexpectedly on all those innocent lives. I distinctly
remember waking up the following morning, turning on the news to reveal the carnage, and feeling a
sense of despair at the atrocity that took place and lives taken because of one deranged man. At first,
accurate news was reported as the details of the mass murder unfolded. Soon after, accurate news was

Most major sites have expertise in the area they talk about and will back up their claims with quotes
from highly regarded professionals. As a result of the heavy social media usage among the upcoming

social media sites, it is imperative that the issue of fake news is addressed. The social media platform
is the ideal breeding grounds for fake news since information can be spread with the click of a button
with little to no fact checking. The reader must remember that fake news exists solely to provoke a
response and if the material seems outlandish or impractical, then it probably is. One way to address
the growing problem is to question what we read. We should get in the habit of comparing the

Lastly, becoming aware with the more common fake news sites is another way to combat spreading of

The article explains how an autonomous robot (specifically ARTOS) can take care of elderly people
and not hinder privacy. The article uses logic and experiments to give credibility to their point. This
article relates to other privacy articles being used. It provides insight to how these robots do invade
privacy, but how they have been designed and are being designed to stop the problem. Through the
use of experiments, the article provides good credible information of the use of autonomous robots in
assisting the elderly. The article also provides good insight to the privacy issue with robots and how
producers are trying to eliminate or prevent this problem.

the CMOP E largely include humanistic theories, with a particular focus on client centred therapy
developed from Carl Rogers (Townsend Polatajko, 2007). As the name infers, the main focus of the
CMOP is on occupational performance and exploring the interplay between the person, environment

How To Criminalize Money Laundering
Congress crafted a broad statute designed to criminalize the actions of anyone who knowingly
participated in an illicit transaction, regardless of its magnitude or dollar value. Although the current
money laundering statute is broad and general, there is widespread agreement that it does not
criminalize the mere act of spending money generated by the illegal criminal activity. This helps hold
the accountability for individuals engaged in criminal activity. Spending money by making a purchase
or entering into a transaction is not necessarily a crime, even if the party spending the illegally gained
money knows that the money came from illegal activities. Rather, in order to run afoul of the law,
there must be direct or circumstantial evidence

Kid Cuudi Meaning
The song, Pursuit of Happiness by Kid Cudi, contains many theme of dark life. The title of the song
defines the traditional purpose of living a life freely with joy and the way makes us happy. It is
obvious to assume that the title of this song sort of indicates a happy feeling towards the song,
however, after listening to the song couple times and analyzing the lyrics this song is not an uplifting
anthem rather it is fairly dark, depressing song despite the title. Having fame, being rich and doing
drugs does not define the way an individual achieves their Pursuit of happiness but to overcome these
obstacles is what leads us to achieve the happiness we desire. The lyrics of this song is infectious and

dark theme of the song. Nonetheless, both version starts as slow but Lissie, who is a rock/pop vocalist,

drums and the melodic guitar sounds changes the entire state of mind of the tune from the first, Lissie,
utilizing her own particular vocal voice and her style of singing to decide an alternate topic of the
tune, drawing out a high and substantial tone. In other words, Kid Cudi`s original melody throughout
the song is played by a piano and that tune remains consistent to the end. Which is changed from

contrasts between the two versions, the pitch distinction of a similar melody. The cover version
changes the understanding of the original version which separates the voice style of two distinct
artists, changes from electronic hip hop style to forming a rock and pop version. The inclination and

How Did George Jefferson Influence Pop Culture
George Jefferson is a late 90 s television icon, brought to life by Sherman Hemsley. A husband, father,
and entrepreneur; managing to be both the antagonist and protagonist of every show he has made an
appearance in. He made his stride in television and America by introducing a new portrayal of the
black man and the black family, in ways that did not require them to lose their black identity. Jefferson
s importance goes beyond the existence of his fictional depiction. He played a role in branding a social
mark on the real world and in Hollywood. In this paper, I will explain how George Jefferson made
himself a peculiar yet prominent influence in American pop culture by having substantial success off

This change in people s character again contributes to the main theme, and gives meaning to it.
Furthermore, the setting is a fundamental literary device which forms the main theme and gives
meaning to The Visit . This is because the setting paves out the environment and situation in which
Guellen is in from the beginning of the book. All throughout Act 1 the reader is given the idea of how
poor Guellen is and everyone is so humble and local. For example, how the train no longer stops in
Guellen, how people only buy cheap local brands at the shop and not imported, how they accept Ill as
dead for Claire s one million, how Ill is the most popular personality. These examples all show how
the town functions, and how they are desperate for money and are willing to commit a moral crime in
order to receive this money. The setting in the The Visit gives meaning to the play because it
fundaments how and why Guellen is the way it is and allows the reader to understand the specific
effects Guellen s history plays in the decision making, once Claire offers the one million pounds. So,
literary devices also give meaning to The Visit because they lay the base for the play and how it
develops. Finally, literary devices give meaning to The Visit because they comprise the main theme,
which is money can corrupt anything. Literary devices give meaning by creating the bases of the play,

economic growth. When economies are growing they are praised, but when they are not they are
perceived as a failure. Growth has brought us many great technologies that have helped form the
global culture that we now live in. However, there is a misapprehension among society that economic
growth is limitless. In fact, it is impossible to have unlimited growth in a finite world. This has lead
society to expect more from the economy and the earth than what they are actually able to provide for
us. As a result, we are now overproducing and over consuming at record rates, which is having
extremely detrimental effects on the environment. If we ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In fact, they show that unlimited economic growth is a producer of dissatisfaction, anxiety, and
frustration. Winner describes this phenomenon as human morality corruption. He explains that human
corruption is a direct result of material wealth. As a result, society is valuing materials over
relationships and experiences, therefore attempting to satisfy desires by obtaining more and more
goods. With the ever growing demand for material goods, technology is needed to maintain a speedy
production rate and get the goods that society so desperately want to them. Technology allows us to be
efficient and effective in the marketplace. With all the beneficial things that technology allows us to
do, it s also very easy to get consumed by its presence and let it control the way we get things done.
Technological innovations have completely changed the production process and the way we have
traditionally defined the word work. We have gotten to the point where if there is a flaw in
technological equipment, production shuts down and our systems spin out of whack. The expansion of
technology is running parallel to our growing desires for material goods. The illusion of unlimited
economic growth has created a society where enough is never enough. When that is the case producers
use technologies to maximize the output of their product in order to meet the growing demand, rather
than producing at optimal levels. Producers are constantly

Arkansas river shiners release their eggs and sperm into open flowing water which drifts downstream.
Arkansas river shiners have been shown to successfully reproduce from May through September when
stream flow exists, However, peak reproduction may take place at moderate to higher flows. In the
absence of sufficient stream flows, eggs likely settle to the channel floor, where they are covered and
smothered by silt and shifting, hindering oxygen uptake and causing mortality of the embryos.
Plataina and Altenbach determined that eggs could be transported forty five to eighty nine miles
downstream before hatching and developing larvae could then be transported an additional distance
before being capable of direct swimming.
This lead Bonner and Wilde to speculate the Arkansas river shiner needs one hundred and thirty five
miles of free flowing river to complete its life history. Direct and indirect evidence suggests the
presence of a directed, upstream movement by the Arkansas river shiner over the course of their adult
life span, which is necessary to maintain upstream source populations and complete Arkansas river
shiners life cycle. The Arkansas river shiner is believed to be a generalized forager, with its diet
consisting of grass seeds, decaying organic matter, sand, sediment, and aquatic and terrestrial

Heat does to matter is changes it state. There is something more subtle though that can cause big
problems. Look at this devise. When you heat both this ball and the ring the ring expands like a long
bar of metal. The ball expands less so when they are heated the ball fits through the ring. You may
want to look for these and try this demo as many of you probably have these.
Another neat tool to show the expansion of metals is this bimetal bar. It is made with one metal on one

What Happened: The water level was slightly below full. As the water cooled, it contracted causing
the water level to drop. However, there may also be another effect here as well. If you used water with
a lot of bubbles, those bubbles also took up a part of the volume inside the bottles. As the bubbles
eventually floated to the top, they would have decreased the volume slightly. Can you think of some
way to insure that what you are seeing is not a result of the bubbles?
A Major Exception to the Rule
The general rule that has already been stated is that matter expands when heated and contracts when
cooled, but there are a few exceptions. The most important exception is water when it freezes.
Procedure: Fill the bottle to the top with water and replace the cap. Wrap the bottle in several layers of
newspaper and place the bottle and paper in the bag. Put the bag in the freezer and leave it there until
the water freezes.
Remove the bag and paper and examine the bottle. What do you see?
What Happened: The bottle was shattered or very swollen. When water is cooled, whether as a gas
(water vapor), a liquid, or a solid, it will contract. The one major exception to this is when water
reaches the freezing point and changes from liquid water to ice. At that point, the water expands,
rather than contracts. This expansion caused the bottle to break.
The reason water behaves this way has to do with the shape of it s

Disneyland Is A New World Of Yesterday, Tomorrow, And Fantasy
Over the entrance to Main Street in Disneyland is a quote by Walt Disney reading Here you leave
today and enter the world of yesterday, tomorrow, and fantasy (Disney). Even then Walt Disney knew
what this park is because here I stand with my Aunt Laura, Cousin Ricky, and Sister Monica with
among the thousands around us staring off at the dark and distant gates, waiting for entry through to
the happiest place on earth. We all stand with impatience and excitement, for we know what is to
come will surely be an adventure into a new world filled with amazing attractions and attacks on
nostalgia that if only for a moment can take someone back to their childhood.
First thing I see after crossing the threshold is a rather large Mickey Mouse flower pattern that is a
beacon to all that enter, calling all visitors to take a picture as the perfect backdrop, however, we
decide to walk past and walk through, as Walt Disney called it on the sign above, yesterday, tomorrow,
and fantasy. A wave of nostalgia washes over me, and a brief childlike wonder set in at the sight of
Main Street. Shaken out of my nostalgia, I hear the sound before I see a marching band playing, the
trolley in the distance, and kids and adults alike lining up to take a picture with Disney characters. My
Aunt Laura among them, wanting to take pictures, and my Cousin Ricky reluctantly obliges. Now, we

  • 2. Messiah Of The Masses Summary This paper is a review of the book Messiah of the Masses: Huey P. Long and the Great Depression. The book was about the life history of Huey P. Long during the great depression era. The author of this book was Glen Jeansonne and it was edited by Oscar Handlin. In 1993 this book was published by Addison Wesley Educational Publishers Inc. There are many pros and some cons in this book but overall it was a very interesting book. The author s goal was to educate everyone about the misunderstood Huey P. Long. I agree that Jeansonne did accomplish his goal of doing that while keeping a steady and fine flow throughout the book. It is also a good narration on human nature during the time of the great depression. The only cons I have about the book was that it was very hard to comprehend at points. I assume it was because I need to extend my vocabulary. Also, I did not like how the book criticized Huey P. Long a lot. Even though he was somewhat a bad person I believe the author could have put more accomplishments. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Long is how he believed that was a master politician. I agree with this very much because of the way Jeansonne wrote about his campaigning strategy. He basically had citizens of Louisiana wrapped around his fingers by telling them what they wanted to hear. In chapter 7 it said that a national correspondent wrote, They do not merely vote for him, they worship the ground he walks on... (p.142) Also in chapter 3, Jeansonne supported his argument when he talked about how Huey limited his points in a speech to only five points. Afterwards he stated that an assistant of Huey said, Smith compared this tactic to promising a child a red bicycle for Christmas. (p.44) This view closely aligns with my reasoning for my position of agreeing because he would talk about doing things and no one would question how they got ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Nfl Draft Research Paper In last month s NFL draft, the Philadelphia Eagles did the complete opposite of what everybody thought they would do and did not take a running back. Leading up to the draft, many analysts had the Eagles taking LSU s Derrius Guice in the first round, who ultimately fell to the second round to the Washington Redskins. After the draft, the Eagles attacked the undrafted free agent market and signed former Notre Dame running back Josh Adams. Also on that same day, the team announced that they re signed veteran Darren Sproles to a one year deal. With Sproles back in the fold, the Eagles top three running backs seemed to be in place with Corey Clement and Jay Ajayi leading the committee. Eagles Executive Vice President of Football Operations Howie Roseman was not done, however, as the team signed former Washington Redskins bruising back Matt Jones to a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Those two backs are Wendell Smallwood and Donnel Pumphrey. Smallwood was drafted in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL draft but has struggled to see the field. Pumphrey, however, was drafted last year in the fourth round but was placed on injured reserve due to poor play. I have to play better or else my job will not be here, Pumphrey said to Ed Kracz of The Eagles Wire. It s definitely an interview here every day. These guys (the coaching staff and front office personnel) are watching every move, so whether it s off the field or whether it s in the building, you have to stay on top of your stuff. Therefore, what do the Eagles do about this situation? It is a good spot to be in because in the NFL, you can never have too many running backs. One has to believe that the last spot for the fourth running back job will come down to Jones, Adams, Smallwood, and Pumphrey. Each of these guys does one thing really well that can help the Eagles this upcoming ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Assignment Analysis Essay For this assignment I chose to analyze the genre of billboard advertisements. As very large signs posted in public places, billboards are seen by many people, and therefore must appeal to a wide range of audience. Many can be seen along roadways, although they appear in spaces with high pedestrian traffic like urban areas and shopping centers. Just as they appeal to a large audience, billboards address a wide range of topics. A majority of billboards are advertisements trying to sell a product, but some may be to raise awareness for a cause or to spread public service announcements. The purpose of the billboard depends on the author, which can range from a single individual running for an office to an international corporation marketing a new ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They layout is typically very simple because these signs are not viewed for long, and so must be immediately understandable and able to communicate their message in a matter of seconds. This viewing time limits the amount of text they can include, in addition to the fact that they must be readable from long distances, so the text must be large and bold. Billboards will typically have few words, and at most a few sentences. The wording may be a short message, which typically appeals to logos or pathos by giving a reason the product is better, or somehow connecting to the audience s emotional perception of it. In the cases of the appeal to logos, it is common to use strong absolute words like best or fastest, which may sound convincing, but often are not substantiated by evidence given the limit on how much can fit on the board. The text may also include a phone number or website which the audience can go to for more information once their attention has been caught by the sign. The funeral home s sign is an excellent example in that it only contains the three words Text and Drive to catch attention, then provides the name of the funeral home, but directly providing very little information. In this way, billboards can serve as a genre to direct readers to works of other genres like a brochure or video on the company website. The image component often appeals to pathos by effecting some ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Sigmund Freud Theories Sigmund Freud s Theories in Relation to Brave New World One might imagine, what could truly constitute A brave new world? What parameters must that world fall within? What decisive mind is manning the ship headed toward this utopia? Certainly, this world has seen innumerous attempts, heard the many strident voices, which barreled forth and propelled society toward that image. One of those voices belonged to Sigmund Freud, the father of psychoanalysis, and even, perhaps, a deity of this brave new world. Sigmund Freud was born May 6th, 1856, in Frieberg, Moravia to a textile dealer named Jacob Freud (Chiriac, Jean, Sigmund Freud s Childhood ). He was one of eight children, five sisters and three brothers. The family lived in Frieberg until Sigmund was four years old, when the family then moved to Vienna where Sigmund would remain for the vast majority of his life. By 1873, Freud would go on to study medicine at the University of Vienna. Freud went get engaged in 1882, to a women who would bear him six children. Any of Freud s works written before May of 1933 were burned for their flippant destigmatization of sexuality ( Sigmund Freud and the Holocaust ). • 8. My Experience At Panera Bread Life teaches us lessons every day. Sometimes when we are in the midsts of frustration or confusion we never see clearly or understand the lesson from the situations we are put in. It is only through moments of reflection when a person can begin to see how certain situations have shaped their way of thinking or doing things. For a little over half a year, I worked a part time job during my senior year of high school at Panera Bread. During my time there i was able to observe and see all kinds of different family dynamics and people walk through the door every day. It was strange, it was different, and it was amazing all at the same time to see all of those different walks of life. A favorite memory of mine there that I will never forget occurred on Super Bowl Sunday night. Looking back on my experience from that frustrating night, I find that i learned the value of teamwork, work relationships, and I learned how the most unpleasant situations can turn into great unexpected surprises. To start at the very beginning, I have always had this certain manager that i could never really get along with workwise. Her name was Melissa and she was a corporate trained manager, making her more official and strict then the other managers and always going by the books . She was a short, long grey haired women that always wore these glasses that made her look like an old scary librarian. She had the nickname monster mo among the employees at the store for a reason. With positive attitudes and having the want to change anything is possible, and the people of Annawadi can change their situations. According to the 2015 Guideline for the treatment of RA developed by the ACR, the approach to treat early and established RA is different. The treatment recommendations by the ACR for early and established RA are as follows: Early RA: The early RA is defined as RA with duration of disease/symptoms of 6 months (Singh et al., 2016, p.4) and duration does not represent the time since RA diagnosis, but the length of time the patient has had symptoms. The treatment of the established RA begins with DMARDs i.e. methotrexate as monotherapy along with short term glucocorticoids ( 3 months for RA disease flares). However, if the symptoms persist on methotrexate a combination therapy or single therapy with biologic DMARDs can be started. The combination therapy includes two/more nonbiologic DMARDs alone or methotrexate with biologic DMARDs. The low dose glucocorticoids (10 mg/day of prednisone) for short term can be used during combination therapy. If the single biologics or combination therapy fails, the steps shown in the flowchart (see figure 5) should be followed to treat established RA. Figure 5: 2015 ACR recommendations for the treatment of established RA Indication: * = consider adding low dose glucocorticoids (10 mg/day of prednisone or equivalent) in patients with moderate or high RA disease activity when starting traditional disease modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs) and in patients with DMARD failure or biologic failure. † = also consider using short term glucocorticoids (defined as 3 months treatment) for RA disease flares. Glucocorticoids should be used at the lowest possible dose and for the shortest possible duration to provide the best benefit risk ratio for the patient. # = treatment target should ideally be low disease activity or remission. ** = tapering denotes scaling back therapy (reducing dose or dosing frequency), not discontinuing it and if done, must be ... A couple of examples would be kitty keychains, ice cream earrings, and pink owl sharpeners. However, they don t always have to be something small. Another common attraction in Japan that s considered kawaii are the various themed cafés, or restaurants. The cafés in Japan are wildly different and diverse from the typical American cafés and they usually include a signature theme, such as cats, ninjas, and maids. The most common café in Japan is the typical maid café. This is where the waitresses usually dress up in a maid costume and talk to the customers as if they were their master . Patrick Galbraith wrote an article that goes in depth about maid cafés. In his article he mentions, Maid cafés first appeared in the late 1990s in Akihabara, Japan, an area where dating simulation games were sold and players gathered. Maid cafés extended relations with fictional characters from media to physical reality, allowing players to interact with fictional characters in human form, while at the same time interacting with humans who perform characters (GalBraith). This fact alone speaks to the depth of the Slovenian beekeeping tradition, but that is only the beginning of the story. While the rest of Europe were using the traditional straw skep hive (Supplementary Figure S1), Carniolan beekeepers were using their wooden bee houses (Supplementary Figure S2) which contained multiple reusable hives composed of movable frames (Rojina, 1917). The impact these hives had when Slovenian beekeeper Anton Jansa introduced them to the broader Austro Hungarian Empire was massive. Apiary production soared, the total value of Austria s production alone multiplying by five times in a year (Rojina, 1917). Traditional skep hives were destroyed, and the bee colony along with them, during the harvesting process. Additionally, they were hotbeds of disease because they could not be opened for inspection or treatment. The Carniolan hive allowed easy inspection and treatment, as well as permitted harvesting without destroying the bee colony. These hives were the forerunners of today s most common hive, the Langstroth. These accomplishments of Carniolan culture were generated by both the landed gentry and the common farmer, but the main subject of this essay, the painted hive panels, truly transcended class as a form of expression even the poorest beekeeper could indulge in. Now, imagine that on your way to work or to the store. Self driving cars could make this a possibility. We have been tinkering with ideas for autonomous vehicles for almost a century and a few companies have even been successful in designing a fully functioning self driving car. Roads full of these video game esque cars controlled by artificial intelligence or other means of autonomy may not be as distant in the future as one might think. This, being a drastic change in the way we travel, could cause many issues. Due to these potential issues, it is in our best interest to raise questions before we implement these technologies. One possible question is: have we thought out any ramifications this might cause, and if so, do we have an approach to fix them? Engineers have been tinkering with ideas for driverless vehicles since the 1920s. In 1925 the first driverless car, named the Linrrican Wonder, was taken through traffic jams up broadway and across fifth avenue in New York. The Linrrican Wonder was controlled by a car following behind sending radio signals to small electric motors. Later, in 1953, RCA Laboratories designed a mini car that ran along wires on the floor. Holden s peers ostracize him due to his more introspective and introverted nature, as seen in Stradlater s angry response to Holden s reflective response to this writing assignment, saying that he doesn t do one damn thing the way [he s] supposed to (Salinger 47). He made his stride in television and America by introducing a new portrayal of the black man and the black family, in ways that did not require them to lose their black identity. When economies are growing they are praised, but when they are not they are perceived as a failure. Growth has brought us many great technologies that have helped form the global culture that we now live in. However, there is a misapprehension among society that economic growth is limitless. In fact, it is impossible to have unlimited growth in a finite world. This has lead society to expect more from the economy and the earth than what they are actually able to provide for us. In fact, they show that unlimited economic growth is a producer of dissatisfaction, anxiety, and frustration. Winner describes this phenomenon as human morality corruption. He explains that human corruption is a direct result of material wealth. As a result, society is valuing materials over relationships and experiences, therefore attempting to satisfy desires by obtaining more and more goods. With the ever growing demand for material goods, technology is needed to maintain a speedy production rate and get the goods that society so desperately want to them. Technology allows us to be efficient and effective in the marketplace. With all the beneficial things that technology allows us to do, it s also very easy to get consumed by its presence and let it control the way we get things done. Technological innovations have completely changed the production process and the way we have traditionally defined the word work. We have gotten to the point where if there is a flaw in technological equipment, production shuts down and our systems spin out of whack. The expansion of technology is running parallel to our growing desires for material goods. The illusion of unlimited economic growth has created a society where enough is never enough. When that is the case producers use technologies to maximize the output of their product in order to meet the growing demand, rather than producing at optimal levels. Producers are constantly ... There is also a small, dark chevron shaped marking at the base of the tail fin. This species of fish lives in schools and feeds on small aquatic insects and invertebrates. The habitat of the Arkansas river shiner is the shallow braided channels of wide sandy prairie rivers in the Arkansas River system. Arkansas river shiners release their eggs and sperm into open flowing water which drifts downstream. Arkansas river shiners have been shown to successfully reproduce from May through September when stream flow exists, However, peak reproduction may take place at moderate to higher flows. In the absence of sufficient stream flows, eggs likely settle to the channel floor, where they are covered and smothered by silt and shifting, hindering oxygen uptake and causing mortality of the embryos. Plataina and Altenbach determined that eggs could be transported forty five to eighty nine miles downstream before hatching and developing larvae could then be transported an additional distance before being capable of direct swimming. This lead Bonner and Wilde to speculate the Arkansas river shiner needs one hundred and thirty five miles of free flowing river to complete its life history. Direct and indirect evidence suggests the presence of a directed, upstream movement by the Arkansas river shiner over the course of their adult life span, which is necessary to maintain upstream source populations and complete Arkansas river shiners life cycle. The Arkansas river shiner is believed to be a generalized forager, with its diet consisting of grass seeds, decaying organic matter, sand, sediment, and aquatic and terrestrial ... There is something more subtle though that can cause big problems. Look at this devise. When you heat both this ball and the ring the ring expands like a long bar of metal. The ball expands less so when they are heated the ball fits through the ring. You may want to look for these and try this demo as many of you probably have these. However, there may also be another effect here as well. If you used water with a lot of bubbles, those bubbles also took up a part of the volume inside the bottles. As the bubbles eventually floated to the top, they would have decreased the volume slightly. Can you think of some way to insure that what you are seeing is not a result of the bubbles? A Major Exception to the Rule The general rule that has already been stated is that matter expands when heated and contracts when cooled, but there are a few exceptions. The most important exception is water when it freezes. Procedure: Fill the bottle to the top with water and replace the cap. Wrap the bottle in several layers of newspaper and place the bottle and paper in the bag. Put the bag in the freezer and leave it there until the water freezes. Remove the bag and paper and examine the bottle. What do you see? What Happened: The bottle was shattered or very swollen. When water is cooled, whether as a gas (water vapor), a liquid, or a solid, it will contract. The one major exception to this is when water reaches the freezing point and changes from liquid water to ice. At that point, the water expands,

Even then Walt Disney knew what this park is because here I stand with my Aunt Laura, Cousin Ricky, and Sister Monica with among the thousands around us staring off at the dark and distant gates, waiting for entry through to the happiest place on earth. We all stand with impatience and excitement, for we know what is to come will surely be an adventure into a new world filled with amazing attractions and attacks on nostalgia that if only for a moment can take someone back to their childhood. First thing I see after crossing the threshold is a rather large Mickey Mouse flower pattern that is a beacon to all that enter, calling all visitors to take a picture as the perfect backdrop, however, we decide to walk past and walk through, as Walt Disney called it on the sign above, yesterday, tomorrow, and fantasy. A wave of nostalgia washes over me, and a brief childlike wonder set in at the sight of Main Street.
