2. Startup Mahakumbh To Begin On Monday In New Delhi
Startup Mahakumbh, one of the biggest events showcasing the startup
ecosystem of India is beginning on Monday. The event will be held till 20th
March at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
The event will have sector-focused pavilions including pavilions on AI, B2B,
agritech, deeptech, climate tech, gaming, esports, fintech, incubators and
accelerators.
This startup event aims to connect startups with a spectrum of inventors
including venture capitalists, investors and potential corporate partners.
Speaking at a curtain raiser press conference in New Delhi on Sunday, DPIIT
Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh said this is the first of its kind event which is
being organised at such a large scale in the national capital.
Mr Singh said India has the third largest startup ecosystem and a large
number of startup ecosystems are adding to the list every day.

3. Election Commission has announced Para Archer and Arjuna
Awardee, Sheetal Devi as its National PwD Icon.
Her name was announced at an Exhibition Cricket Match
between the Indian Deaf Cricket Association Team and the
Delhi and District Cricket Association team held on Saturday in
Delhi.
The match was organised by the Election Commission in
association with the Board of Control for Cricket in India to
foster voter education and inclusivity.
The event was graced by Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv
Kumar and Election Commissioners Gyanesh Kumar and
Sukhbir Singh Sandhu.
On the occasion, the Commission launched a dedicated Voter’s
Guide for PwDs and Senior Citizen Electors.

4. EC Makes Fresh Electoral Bond Data Public
Election Commission today uploaded the data received in
digitized form from the registry of the Supreme Court on
electoral bonds on its website.
The data can be accessed at www.eci.gov.in/candidate-
politicalparty.
EC said in a statement that political parties had filed data
on Electoral Bonds in sealed cover as directed by the
Supreme Court.
The data received from political parties was deposited in
the Supreme Court without opening sealed covers.
In pursuance of the apex court’s order on 15th March this
year, the Registry of the Supreme Court has returned
physical copies along with a digitized record of the same in
a pen drive in sealed cover.

5. PM Modi Distributes 1,000 Drones To Women’s Self-Help Groups
In Villages To Break Social Psyche That Does Not Approve Women
Driving Even Tractors
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that he distributed
agricultural drones to girls in villages to break the social psyche
that does not approve women driving even tractors.
Speaking at India Today Conclave in Delhi, Mr. Modi said, he
distributed 1,000 drones to women’s self-help groups in villages
under the Namo Drone Didi Yojana.
Prime Minister said, the Government is specifically selecting women
to take on the responsibility, aiming to empower them
economically and technologically.
Mr. Modi said, these drones will change the future of agriculture
and women in villages.
The Prime Minister said that the BJP government, in the last 10
years, have developed an entirely new model of governance which
focused on the person who was at the back of the list of priorities.

6. Indian Army Contingent Departs For Seychelles To Participate In
Tenth Edition Of Joint Military Exercise “LAMITIYE-2024”
The Indian Army contingent departed for Seychelles
today to participate in the Tenth edition of Joint Military
Exercise “LAMITIYE-2024” between the Indian Army and
Seychelles Defence Forces SDF.
The Joint Exercise will be conducted at Seychelles from
tomorrow till the 27th of this month. ‘LAMITIYE’ meaning
‘Friendship’ in the Creole language is a biennial training
event and has been conducted in Seychelles since 2001.
45 personnel from the GORKHA RIFLES of the Indian
Army and SDF will participate in the exercise.

7. MeitY Issues Advisory On AI For
Intermediaries
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY)
has issued an advisory on due diligence by Intermediaries and
Platforms under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and
Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital
Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.
In its latest advisory, the Ministry said that every intermediary
and platform should ensure that use of Artificial Intelligence
models, Generative Al, Software or algorithms on or through its
computer resource does not permit its users to host, display,
upload, modify, publish, or share any unlawful content as
outlined in the IT Rules or violate any other provision.

8. Indian Navy has successfully rescued 17 crew members of a
hijacked cargo vessel MV Ruen and captured all 35 pirates from
it. Indian Navy said, INS Kolkata intercepted the under-attack
pirate ship which was sailing almost 2600 km from Indian
shores and forced it to stop through calibrated actions.
The operation, which lasted for the last 40 hours, was
supported by the Indian warship INS Subhadra, High Altitude
Long Endurance drones, P8I maritime patrol aircraft, and
MARCOS PRAHARs.
Later, the vessel was also sanitised for the presence of illegal
arms, ammunition, and contraband.

9. A massive forest fire in China is threatening the habitats of
giant pandas and other rare species in the inland province of
Sichuan. State-run China Central Television reported that a fire
broke out on Friday in a forest in Yajiang in the Ganzi Tibetan
Autonomous Prefecture, and strong winds helped the blaze
spread to other areas.
Local authorities in Yajiang say the affected areas are at
altitudes of over 2,000 meters and are home to such rare
species as the golden takin — an animal in the bovine family —
and the golden snub-nosed monkey, as well as the giant
panda.

10. Indian Athlete Gulveer Singh shattered a 16-year-old national
record by over 20 seconds by clocking 27.41.81 in The Ten event
at San Juan Capistrano in California.
The 25-year-old finished second in the men’s 10000m race on
Saturday.
However, the Asian Games Bronze medallist failed to qualify for
Paris Olympic Games as he missed the qualification time of
27:00.00 by over 41 seconds.
