Virtues In Pride And Prejudice By Elizabeth Bennet
Are we not like two volumes of one book? asked Marceline Desbordes Valmore. To say that the world
is full of diversity would be an understatement, but Valmore challenges this belief through her
assumption that even though the human race may be distinct from each other, the bottom line is they
are all connected as one. In Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, Elizabeth Bennet acts as a catalyst for
portraying the heavenly virtues of the Catholic church. The heavenly virtues of the Catholic church are
a set of values that counteract the practice of the seven deadly sins: Faith, Hope, Charity, Fortitude,
Justice, Prudence, and Temperance (The Seven Virtues). Lizzy s behavior throughout the novel
mirrors the behavior expected from young Catholic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Charity, by definition, is the strength to do good for others (Charity). The virtue of charity constantly
seeks what is righteous for others and does not seek selfishness. Elizabeth portrays charity when she
had to leave Rosings promptly upon the news of Lydia running away with Wickham. She hastily
voices her frustrations as she says, I beg your pardon but I must leave you [Darcy]...I have not an
instant to lose (262). This is an example of charity because rather than staying and talking to Darcy,
which Elizabeth must have preferred to do, she decides to drop everything and return back to
Longbourn to be with her family in their time of angst. The amount of concern she has for her sister,
who was naively being rebellious reflects the selflessness that charity asks for. This relates to the
universality of Catholicism because one does not need to be a practicing Catholic in order to show a
deep zeal and concern for

How Are Women Portrayed in Robert Browning’s ‘Porphyria...
During the nineteenth century people were under a strict patriarchal rule, especially the women. In
those times, women were seen as ornaments a momentary toy of passion to the society and properties
to be traded within marriage, therefore, Victorian moralists repressed female sexuality. As a result, for
a woman to admit she even had sexual desires was considered sinful, let alone acting on those desires
like Porphyria did was borderline criminal. Moreover, when Porphyria glided in she untied her hat and
let her damp hair fall . Victorian moralists referred to female fornicators as fallen women.
Additionally, committing adultery was also a sin as it went against one of the Ten Commandments
Thou shall not commit adultery , therefore, Porphyria letting her hair fall could symbolise the
boundaries she had willingly chosen to overstep by coming to meet her lover. The title Porphyria s
Lover may indicate to the reader the idea that the lover would be the only active article in the poem,
especially if it was written by a male during those times. However, at the beginning of the poem
Porphyria is immediately given the active role, she s the one who glided in wanting to visit him for
love of her.../ through wind and rain , she also shut the out cold and storm . This gives Porphyria a
masculine physical ability as she has the power to shut...out something as sinewy as a storm, which
goes against the female stereotype. The storm can been seen as the lover s burning

Harriet Tubman Conductor On The Underground Road Analysis
Harriet Tubman and Nelson Mandela both had big impacts but I believe Nelson Mandela had a more
important impact..The informational text, Harriet Tubman: Conductor on the Underground railroad by
Ann Petry is about Harriet s life being a slave and her understanding the bitter truths about slavery.
The autobiography, Long Walk to Freedom by Nelson Mandela is about Mandela writing about how
his life was, him being born free, but even before he was born, white people had made a racial
domination against his own people. Both of these people both stood up for what they thought was
wrong and didn t give up. However, Nelson Mandela had a more important impact. In, Harriet

The policy of apartheid created a deep and lasting wound in my country and my people.... My country
is rich in the minerals and gems that lie beneath its soil, but I have always known that its greatest
wealth is its people, finer and truer than than the purest diamonds. (Pg 61). Also, in paragraph 9
through 12, it states, I was not born with a hunger to be free. I was born free free in every way that I
can know..... Later, as a young man in Johannesburg, I yearned for the basic and honorable freedoms
of achieving my potential, of earning my keep, of marrying and having a family the freedom not to be
obstructed in a lawful life.... It was during those long and lonely years that my hunger for the freedom
of my own people became a hunger for the freedom of all people, white and black. (Pg 63). When
Nelson was a boy, he saw he didn t have to hunger for freedom, but as he got older, ended up
hungering for his own and and others, not just black, white too. He believes in his people, he knows
that the greatest wealth is its people, not the gems and minerals. He trusts his people, he also believes
that if he takes away someone else s freedom, that means he is not free either, because he took away
someone s freedom from them, so it s like taking away his

Alexis De Tocqueville Cold War
In 1835, French historian, Alexis de Tocqueville wrote that, There are at the present time two great
nations in the world [...] I allude to the Russians and the Americans [...] Their starting point is
different, and their courses are not the same; yet each of them seems marked out by the will of Heaven
to sway the destines of half the globe. Tocqueville s insightful view was proven in the aftermath of the
Second World War with the emergence of a bipolar international system where the American and
Soviets sought geopolitical, ideological and economic hegemony.
The Cold War encompassed a lengthy period of the world history spanning from 1945, after the end of
the Second World War to 1991 with the collapse of the Soviet Union. However, the relations between
the Soviet Union and the United States had always been lukewarm at best as distinct differences in the
political systems of the two countries often hindered them from reaching a mutual understanding that
led to shift between cautious cooperation to bitter superpower rivalry over the years. The fluctuate
relations between the two power eventually reached its peak with a hostile rivalry that lasted for
almost half of a century. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Some Recyclable Materials
According to Pichtel (2005), unwanted materials in the recycled process can affect in a negative way
the outcomes of the recycle process and can be hazardous to workers. In addition, some industries will
not accept low levels of contamination and some other industries just remove foreign material.
Contamination affects the quality and recyclability of products since unwanted materials can damage
the products. Recycled Paper According to Pichtel (2005), Paper products comprise by far the
majority of the municipal solid waste stream about 38% of U.S MSW p.131. Contamination in
recycled paper is terrible since financial issues could arise, since more money would need to be used
in order to make more paper and the health and safety of employees could be at risk. When recycled
paper is contaminated is when the paper is soiled with food, chemicals etc. This contamination does
not help the environment since more trees would need to be planted. For example, according to Pichtel
(2005), Seventeen trees are required to produce 1 ton of paper . Furthermore, when paper is recycled
toxic wastes are reduced since paper from scratch won t have to be produced. In order to reduce
contamination in recycled paper, more awareness is needed. For example, in the US there are a lot
people from different countries. Some of these countries do not have recycle programs, so these
people are not aware of the consequences of mixing paper with food and other chemicals. The US is

Millenial Demand
As a result of the economic recession, the lifestyle of millennials and the previous generation is
changing. For example, the millennial generation is continuing to live with their parents due to the
economy. How do the changes in the economy affect our millennial generation? What are the
behavioral changes that affect our aggregate demand? How? Why?
The Application of Aggregate Demand and Supply is the total quantity of goods purchased and
produced at various prices. Since millennials are not purchasing as many goods due to economic
decline, the aggregate demand decreases. For instance, many millennials are not buying homes. Beth
Bravermen states in her article, The Main Reason Millennials Aren t Buying Homes, that Student loan
debt, high rents and low wages all make it tough for millennials to save enough to cover the standard
20 percent down payment.

millennials to obtain a higher paying job. As a result, it leads to income loss. Many of them have ...

economy is indenting into millennials judgment that perusing education is the first priority. The

Essay about Morality in Richard III by William Shakespeare
Morality in Richard III by William Shakespeare In Richard III, Shakespeare invites us on moral
holiday. The early part of the play draws its readers to identify with Richard and thereby to participate
in a fantasy of total control of self and domination of others. We begin to be pulled into the fantasy in
the play s opening speech, where Richard presents himself as an enterprising, self made villain and
offers an elaborate justification for this self he renovation. In the first scene of the play, Richard
announces in a narration, his plan to become king. Richard is truly a Machiavel. A Machiavel is one

A villain must also have scapegoats to use if he is discovered or if he is in a dangerous situation .
Richard devised a brutal stratagem to ascend the English throne. Brilliantly, he executed his plan.
Heartlessly, he executed family, friends, and subjects. Richard did indeed display these characteristics
and, therefore, fulfilled his goal to ascend the throne. One of many Richard s brilliant schemes was to
increase public support for his own claim to the crown. Richard, aided by Buckingham, enacts shows
of devotion, kindness, religiousness and other virtues, which recommend him to the citizenry and
especially to the Lord Mayor and aldermen of London. This done, he finally wins the mayor and the
alderman over and receives the offer to the supreme seat, the throne majestically, the scepter office of
his ancestors themselves, the lineal glory of his royal house . After some false persuasion by the Duke
of Buckingham, Richard finally accepts the golden yoke of sovereignty. Some Critics feel that not all
of Richard s victims were innocent, they were hypocritical and were trying to use Richard, but that is
another topic. Richard is, simply, too clever to be outwitted. As a king, Richard did not succeed. He

Strategic Management of Human Resources
Training models assignment
The modern day work place is undergoing a wide array of changes, all resulted from the numerous
challenges impacting the internal and external environment of business enterprises. Some examples in
this sense include the growing forces of globalization and market liberalization, the increasing cultural
diversity in workplaces, the shift from a manufacturing economy to a service economy, or the
advancement of technology.
In such a setting, the role of the staff members is also suffering modifications as the employees are not
just the individuals operating the machines, they have become the most valuable organizational assets
(Hickman, 2005). The employees are now in charge of creating organizational value and sustaining
the company in attaining its overall objectives. Given this scenario, economic agents come to place an
increased emphasis on the relationship with the staffs and focus on the strategic management of their
human resource (Noe, 2002).
The strategic management of the human resource is revealed at virtually all levels of the relationship
between the employer and the employee, since the need for a new hire is identified, up to the point
where the employee leaves the firm. Some focal points of this strategic HRM include the motivation
of the employees, their training, their reward or the offering of adjacent incentives, such as flexible
working schedules. Overall, it is the scope of strategic human resource management to ensure that

Analysis Of Mr. Hyde By Robert Louis Stevenson
For as long as man has learned to fear, whopping frights have existed. Some of these were entirely
born from fables, others based upon biased knowledge of the world. Legends of many ancient beasts
survive for a multitude of generations. Of course we realize these humongous horrors are as real as
fairy tales, but they serve a greater purpose than to ignite terror in people they mean to educate. While
mere folktales, such as the bogeyman, keep toddlers in bed at night, authors for mature audiences use
hellions to teach more valuable lessons. From astronomic leviathans, such as Ishirō Honda s Godzilla
who educate about great responsibility, or the plesiosaurus of Ray Bradbury, who give windows into
the minds of the lonely, to the horrors of the subconscious, exemplified by Robert Louis Stevenson s
Mr. Hyde, horrors have deeper concepts to them that educate in an allegoric fashion. Human nature
has always presented a natural love for fantastic stories, and many elders use these parables to disarm
listeners and scare the message into them.
In Ishirō Honda s original movie, Godzilla: King of the Monsters , destruction of major cities
represents how humans should exercise caution with great power. Ishirō Honda develops this theme
with a narrator s dramatic tone and heinous mood. Godzilla existed as a remnant of the cretaceous era,
a theropod known as a Godzillasaurus. An infamous kaiju who rises from the Pacific and levels

Teasdale originally wrote There Will Come Soft Rains as a poem in 1920. It was written during the

the war has ended. Teasdale predicts that after the humans destroy themselves with war, nature will go

an organized group such as government sponsored, professional hackers, or just an ordinary amateur

Literary Romanticism Essay
Literary Romanticism
Literary Romanticism is a movement in literature present in the history of virtually every European
country, the USA, and Latin America. It lasted from approximately 1750 to about 1870 and was
characterized by reliance on the imagination and emotional subjectivity of approach, freedom of
thought and expression, and an idealization of nature. The term romantic first appeared in 18th century
English and originally meant romancelike #8212;that is, resembling the fanciful character of medieval
romances. Romanticism was merely a product of bygone ages as are all works of literature.
Heinrich Heine is an example of a German romantic poet. He is best renowned for his early lyrical
poems and ballads, which are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because the profession of law was prohibited to Jews in Germany at that time, Heine, who was born
Jewish, converted to Christianity in 1825 in order to obtain a law degree. He received his degree but
never practiced law. In 1826 Die Harzreise (The Harz Journey 1887), a prose account of a trip he had
taken to the Harz, a mountain range in central Germany, was published. This work, with its wit and
grace of style, won success immediately and established Heine s literary reputation. In 1827 his Buch
der Lieder (Book of Songs, 1846) was published. Many noted composers, including Franz Schubert of
Austria and Robert Schumann of Germany, wrote music to accompany these verses.
From 1827 to 1831 Heine lived in England and Italy as well as in various parts of Germany. During
that period he wrote the three volumes of travel stories that, with Die Harzreise, make up the four
volumes of his Reisebilder (1826 1831; Travel Pictures, 1887). He also wrote a number of prose
works in which he displayed sympathy with the democratic ideas of the French Revolution (1789
1799) and bitterly satirized the feudal regimes of the German kingdoms and duchies (see Feudalism).
In the 1830s Heine became a prominent member of a literary group known as Junges Deutschland
(Young Germany), which attacked the German school of Romanticism for having come under the
domination of the monarchy and the church. He had hoped to obtain a position as a professor of
German literature, but his

Lab Report Bacteria
Introduction:
Bacteria are among the most abundant of all organisms on earth. Some species of bacteria is always
present in every different environment the plant has to offer. For this to be possible, bacteria are all
very different from one another. This lab aimed to identify a certain colony of bacteria, using a variety
of tests at the disposal of scientists. The simplest method of narrowing down possibilities involves the
use of a compound microscope to observe the general shape of the cells. The shapes of the bacteria
can be Bacilli, Cocci, or Spirochete. This helps to further narrow the possibilities of what the bacterial
species is.
Bacteria can be further split into two different groups: Gram positive and Gram negative. A method
known as Gram staining, which detects peptidoglycan, will stain a cell purple/blue in the presence of
it and pink/red if the absence of it. This test also determines thickness of the cell wall, since a thick
cell wall is characteristic of an abundance of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Catalase tests involves exposing the colony of interest to hydrogen peroxide to check for the
presence of the enzyme Catalase. If the bacteria contain the enzyme, exposure to hydrogen peroxide
will trigger the breakdown of it by Catalase as a defense mechanism against the harmful substance.
Catalase test positive genera include Bacillus, Micrococcaceae, and Staphylococcus, while
Clostridium and Streptococcaceae test negative (Holbrook and Leicht, 2015). The second test
administered to gram positive bacteria is the Mannitol Salt Agar (MSA) test. This test involves
observing growth of the bacteria on the MSA medium, which contains very high amounts of sodium
chloride. The only strain capable of growth is Staphylococcus, which causes the medium to change in
color from red to yellow, indicating fermentation of the

Del Hardy s The Light In The Forest Book
The Light in the Forest book was about an Indian boy, True Son being forced to return to his white
parents that lived in Pennsylvania. True Son went back to his white parents and his younger brother,
after being an Indian for eleven years in Ohio. With him was a white soldier, Del Hardy that spoke the

Homosexuality In Dracula
The sexuality downplayed in the Victorian culture is able to be exploited in Stoker s writing because
of the social norm to express sexuality through literature. The cultural (literary and aesthetic) was
consumed with images of mystical, deadly and sexually enticing female subjects to exemplify what a
fallen woman is (Moore). A painting by E.C. Barnes made in the 1860 s shows the moral downfalls of
a woman working in a city. The insinuations of the painting direct the viewer into seeing the darkness
and negative connotations of a working woman. There are implications to what may happen to the
woman if she lets her guard down. Woman of the Victorian era are able to relate to these paintings and
pieces of literature. They are warned of the dangers of displaying sexuality and intelligence. Aside
from warning culture of the dangers of immorality, authors and artists are able to give pleasure to the
culture through their pieces. Because of the conservative society, being sexually immoral is forbidden.

And again, before we delve into the novel, it is important to establish some historical context of Stoker
s own struggle with homosexuality. Stoker is himself, a hidden homosexual. Dracula is written a
month after Stoker s longtime partner, Oscar Wilde, is imprisoned for his homosexuality. Watching his
friend go through trial must have caused many of the internally conflicting emotions which led Stoker
to personally view (and portray) any sexuality as a vile and painful source of evil and despair
(Podonsky). Stoker must have felt guilt from what Wilde went through and it must have cultivated a
hate towards the homosexuality in himself. Now that we know Stoker s experience with
homosexuality, we can see how he places it in such a bad light throughout

My personal favorite lesson in the novel is that it s alright to lie if it s for a good reason. To start off
the story, Goldman tells the readers that his father read the story to him while he was sick. The readers
get sucked into this heart warming story and want to read the rest of it, only to find out that the whole
story was built on a lie. Goldman wrote the story himself but he makes more of a connection to the
audience if he says he was sick when he heard the story. The whole foundation of the story is a lie but
none of the readers seem to care since the novel is such a great story. The end of the book is not a final
slam the book and now there isn t anything further to think about kind of book. Goldman s father lies
to him about the ending and just says that they live happily ever after. It is hard to tell a kid that the
couple has to spend their life on the run from Prince Humperdinck. After all, we all lie to our children
to make them happy. We tell them that the Tooth Fairy left the quarter under their pillow, and the

under the tree. It makes much more sense to tell the silly little lie to make the kids happy then to tell

He is representative of main culture of America. Ichabod is greedy and freeloading. Ringe said, Even
should he gain what he most desires, he would not be content with it (462). He bums meals off

success and instant benefits in American society influenced by industrialization. The people in the

science and apply science to the process of investigation. He doesn t believe the legend of the headless

Similarities Between Hinduism And Buddhism
Learning about both Hinduism and Buddhism, particularly about the art and architecture of both
cultures made me realize they are not that different as I thought first. Both cultures are beautiful and
rich, and if someone takes a deeper look can see that they are depending on each other. Many people
forget that Buddha was born into a Hindu society, and his views and beliefs which led to a brand new
culture are based on Hinduism. Of course I am not saying the two are the same because that wouldn t
make any sense. However, the similarities are visible, just the way differences are visible too, and
these things make both cultures so amazing. First I would like to point out some of the similarities and
differences between Hindu and Buddhist faiths which I think are important to understand their art.
Both religions put karma and reincarnation into the center of believes. Both religions believe in
several spiritual practices in attempts to get beyond the thinking mind and into a state of relaxation
and awareness. However, they do not share their gods, in Hinduism they share their religion with
many gods and goddesses, and in Buddhism there is no god, Buddha himself was a leader. Knowing
the two cultures basic views and believes it is easier to compare their art and architecture, since mostly
they are based on the religions.
The first similarity which I think is very oblivious is the stupa. Stupas are present in both cultures and
the base for the temples in Hinduism and Buddhism

Advantages And Effect Of Organophosphate
Organophosphate is a term applied to describe any organic phosphorus (V) bearing compound, it too
refers to insecticides that acting on the enzyme acetylcholinesterase. Organophosphate pesticides
degrade at high speed by hydrolysis on exposure to soil, air and sunlight; these characteristics made
them a desirable alternative to the persistent organochloride pesticides. Many of organophosphate

JH acts as hormones that manipulate the type of molt that a juvenile insect will go through. With the
presence of JH, Ecdysone triggers larva to larva molts. On the contrary, the ecdysone will supports the

such as methroprene and pyriproxyfen are insecticides that disturb the standard amount of juvenile
hormone by mimic the chemical structure or biological action of juvenile hormone (Wilson 2004,
Henrick 2007). JHAs are more effective at the beginning stage of metamorphosis and embryogenesis
in insects, so it is broadly apply as larvicide. JHAs selectively target and disrupt the endocrine system
of insects. The JHAs interferes with molting process which causes premature molting, this may leads
to deformations of wings and reproductive parts.

improve my application of paint as well as the marks I make by using soft pastels. Using different

Depression As A Chemical Imbalance
Right now, over fourteen and a half million Americans, nearly seven percent of the population, suffer
from Major Depressive Disorder (MDD)(Source 1). The human brain and its complexities currently
make it impossible to quantify the exact way in which depression arises and affects a person.
However, one thing is certain, a lot of people are sad, and it is getting worse. The rate of depression
among high school to college age students has increased significantly in the U.S. over the past fifty
years. Depression is often described as a chemical imbalance in the brain, which is entirely correct;
however, this is a gross oversimplification of the disease. Neurologists have identified over one
hundred different neurotransmitters, the chemicals ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Additionally, temperament, the way in which an individual views the world and their unacknowledged
assumptions about how it works, also influence mood (Source 11).
Although depression is classified as a mental illness, clinical depression can produce a host of
physical and mental symptoms. Mentally, depression makes a person feel miserable, hopeless, and as
though the smallest tasks are impossible. Previously enjoyed activities often become uninteresting and
anger and stress levels can skyrocket. Physically, chronic exhaustion sets in and aches and pains can
arise which have no apparent cause (Source 1).
The MMPI test is heavily used in psychiatric and depression research. The MMPI, Minnesota
Multiphasic Personality Inventory, is the most widely used psychometric test for measuring adult
psychopathology in the world , and its derivatives, the updated MMPI 2 and the MMPI A that is used
in adolescents, are both widely used and accepted in the academic and psychiatric communities
(Source 4).
An alarming trend has arisen in the past fifty years in America, depression rates have increased
significantly for high school to college students. There is dispute over the exact magnitude of the
increase, with some studies reporting a fifteen to twenty percent increase in

everyday is at 7:30 PM. Abhishek is conducted by priests, by pouring libations on the image of the
deity being worshipped. Usually, offerings such as milk, yogurt, ghee, honey, sesame oil, rosewater,
sandalwood paste may be poured among other offerings depending on the type of Abhishek being
performed. This ritual is routinely performed in some Hindu and Jain temples. There were nine jars
around the Abhishek, nine people could be preforming an Abhishek at the same time.

I left a five dollar bill since it was the least I could do for being a guest in their temple of God and
since the temple runs entirely off donations according to their website. And there were also two tall
flags standing beside the display, an Indian flag and a United States flag. Everything was going well
though my self guided tour at the Valley Hindu Temple, until I noticed something that caught me off
guard and surprised me vastly.
The thing that really surprised me was an icon of a swastika. I didn t know if it was a mistake or not, I
was confused by what I was seeing. Until later when I got home and here s what I learned. It s
comforting to know that the symbol did not mean what I believed it might have meant.
According to www.timesofindia.indiatimes.com, The swastika originated in India and was meant to be
a lucky charm or a symbol of well being. It is a religious symbol for Hindus, the Swastika was first
mentioned in the Vedas. It symbolizes many things luck, Surya (the sun) and Brahma, the creator. It is
seen as a power symbol and is also the emblem of Ganesha, the god of good luck. In both Hinduism
and Jainism, the Swastika is used to mark the opening pages of account books, doors and

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency Is A State Agency Of...
The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is a state agency of the state of Tennessee. Their goal is to
manage the states fish and wildlife population and also to enforce the wildlife related laws of the state.
They help to protect and preserve the right to hunt not only for the present time, but also for the future.
In just this past year, the agency has established some new regulations that have caused an uproar in
the hunting community. The two rules which have been headlined in most conversations is the new
two buck limit for the states hunting season, and the new antler restrictions on what is considered a
buck. Due to the success of many other states with fewer buck limits, TWRA has established these
rules. These new rules are designed to have long term affects on not only hunters, but also possibly the
whole state for years to come. While there may be a lot of good that may come from these new
changes, there also may be a negative impact hidden between the lines. These rules have been
designed to increase the amount of trophy deer in the state, increase the amount of doe kills in the
state, and also to truly make hunters picky about what they shoot. The ultimate dream of nearly all
outdoorsmen in the United States of America today is to kill a mature old whitetail buck, and these
chances have been very few and far between in the state of Tennessee in the past. In order for a male
whitetail deer to grow into, what some might call, a trophy buck, it will take a

Changing A Company s Culture
Changing a Company s Culture
When it comes to corporate culture, there would be no better example than Apple Computer as how
change can take place based on the leadership of a single individual. This would be no other than
Steven Paul Jobs, better known to the world of Steve Jobs. Mr. Jobs was worth slightly over million
dollars at the age of 23. By the time he was 24 years old he was worth just over $10 million and by the
time he reached the age of 25 was worth well over $100 million dollars. A staggering difference in just
a three year period (Denning, 2011).
In the interview that was given to Robert Cringely in 1995 for a show that was going to air on the
Public Broadcasting System (PBS) entitled Triumph of the Nerds (Denning, 2011) Steve Jobs tells
how he created the culture at Apple from being different than the status quo. He speaks at length about
costs and how the accountants would never seem to see eye to eye with him when it came to cost.
What Jobs found along the way was that is just the way things were always done in the past but other
institutions and that was not going to be the case at Apple Computer. He knew he could do better and
change the way people would think even when it came to the accounting department at Apple (Jobs,
Cringely, Sen, 1995).
At the time the interview was given Steve Jobs was no longer working for Apple even though he was
its founder he had resigned from the company 10 years prior and many things have changed for the
worse at Apple

Oresteia Suffering Into The Truth Analysis
Oresteia: Suffering Into the Truth
Oresteia is a script whose story goes on by recalling Orestes lost memories. The main idea which is
prevalent throughout this story is about finding the truth hidden in the acts of revenge, lies, and fates
which are intricately intertwined. However, as the truth does not always give us hope and pleasant, in
this story, the characters are suffered by the truth and the way to find it.
Orestes father, Agamemnon, is suffered for the truth of the prophecy, the child is the price: if he kills
his child, his country will win the war. Due to this prophecy, Agamemnon is tortured and agonizing
between his two important roles: father of his family and father of the country. If he chooses his
family and doesn t kill his child, they will lose the war. All people in the country will be tortured as
slaves and colonists. However, if he chooses the win, the peace and the pleasant from a family will not
exist anymore. His family will be demolished. Eventually, in the middle of the story, he decides to kill
Iphigenia. Agamemnon chooses his country, his subjects, and the win, not his family s peace. He
makes Iphigenia drink three solutions including the pills which make her die. I feel like I ve done
something so wrong that my whole life, my family, nothing will be able to the worst mistake. I got it
wrong. It was wrong. It was wrong (Aeschylus, 56.) This demonstrates how he is suffered by the truth
that he killed his daughter. His choice, even

Molly Moony Case Study
Introduction
Evidence based practice is the foundation of safe and effective patient centered care. In a medical
surgical environment a holistic knowledge, understanding and approach to patient care is crucial.
During this essay I will demonstrate my knowledge of these principles through a case study analysis
involving a patient named Molly Moony. This analysis will discuss Molly s injury of a fractured neck
of femur, her surgical procedure, the anatomy and physiology of the hip joint, her immediate
postoperative care, assessments that should be performed upon returning to the ward and her ongoing
care and discharge planning.
Anatomy and Physiology of The Hip Joint
Molly Moony has fallen in her home resulting in a fractured neck of femur. The neck of femur is one
of the main components found within the hip joint, and as it will be made apparent, Molly s age,
mobility and current conditions can impact the normal structure, function and healing process of her ...

The outermost layer is a membrane called periosteum, a fibrous connective tissue responsible for
protection, connected to fibers called Sharpey s (perforating) fibers linking to the bone (Marieb,
2012). The external surface at the end of the bone is covered with articular cartilage, reducing joint
friction (Marieb, 2012). Within the bone is a thin layer of compact bone called epiphyses,
encompassing spongy bone and yellow marrow (Marieb, 2012). Bones possess five important
functions including, support, protection, movement, storage and blood cell formation (Marieb, 2012).
Bones protect and support the body by acting as a rigid framework surrounding delicate organs and
tolerating enormous pressure when weight bearing and moving (Marieb, 2012). Bones are also
responsible for storing fat, minerals and producing blood cells (hematopoiesis) within the cavities of
bone marrow (McCance Huether, 2014) (Marieb,

  • 2. Virtues In Pride And Prejudice By Elizabeth Bennet Are we not like two volumes of one book? asked Marceline Desbordes Valmore. To say that the world is full of diversity would be an understatement, but Valmore challenges this belief through her assumption that even though the human race may be distinct from each other, the bottom line is they are all connected as one. In Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, Elizabeth Bennet acts as a catalyst for portraying the heavenly virtues of the Catholic church. The heavenly virtues of the Catholic church are a set of values that counteract the practice of the seven deadly sins: Faith, Hope, Charity, Fortitude, Justice, Prudence, and Temperance (The Seven Virtues). Lizzy s behavior throughout the novel mirrors the behavior expected from young Catholic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Charity, by definition, is the strength to do good for others (Charity). The virtue of charity constantly seeks what is righteous for others and does not seek selfishness. Elizabeth portrays charity when she had to leave Rosings promptly upon the news of Lydia running away with Wickham. She hastily voices her frustrations as she says, I beg your pardon but I must leave you [Darcy]...I have not an instant to lose (262). This is an example of charity because rather than staying and talking to Darcy, which Elizabeth must have preferred to do, she decides to drop everything and return back to Longbourn to be with her family in their time of angst. The amount of concern she has for her sister, who was naively being rebellious reflects the selflessness that charity asks for. This relates to the universality of Catholicism because one does not need to be a practicing Catholic in order to show a deep zeal and concern for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. How Are Women Portrayed in Robert Browning’s ‘Porphyria... During the nineteenth century people were under a strict patriarchal rule, especially the women. In those times, women were seen as ornaments a momentary toy of passion to the society and properties to be traded within marriage, therefore, Victorian moralists repressed female sexuality. As a result, for a woman to admit she even had sexual desires was considered sinful, let alone acting on those desires like Porphyria did was borderline criminal. Moreover, when Porphyria glided in she untied her hat and let her damp hair fall . Victorian moralists referred to female fornicators as fallen women. Additionally, committing adultery was also a sin as it went against one of the Ten Commandments Thou shall not commit adultery , therefore, Porphyria letting her hair fall could symbolise the boundaries she had willingly chosen to overstep by coming to meet her lover. The title Porphyria s Lover may indicate to the reader the idea that the lover would be the only active article in the poem, especially if it was written by a male during those times. However, at the beginning of the poem Porphyria is immediately given the active role, she s the one who glided in wanting to visit him for love of her.../ through wind and rain , she also shut the out cold and storm . This gives Porphyria a masculine physical ability as she has the power to shut...out something as sinewy as a storm, which goes against the female stereotype. Alexis De Tocqueville Cold War In 1835, French historian, Alexis de Tocqueville wrote that, There are at the present time two great nations in the world [...] I allude to the Russians and the Americans [...] Their starting point is different, and their courses are not the same; yet each of them seems marked out by the will of Heaven to sway the destines of half the globe. Tocqueville s insightful view was proven in the aftermath of the Second World War with the emergence of a bipolar international system where the American and Soviets sought geopolitical, ideological and economic hegemony. The Cold War encompassed a lengthy period of the world history spanning from 1945, after the end of the Second World War to 1991 with the collapse of the Soviet Union. In addition, some industries will not accept low levels of contamination and some other industries just remove foreign material. Contamination affects the quality and recyclability of products since unwanted materials can damage the products. Recycled Paper According to Pichtel (2005), Paper products comprise by far the majority of the municipal solid waste stream about 38% of U.S MSW p.131. One of many Richard s brilliant schemes was to increase public support for his own claim to the crown. Richard, aided by Buckingham, enacts shows of devotion, kindness, religiousness and other virtues, which recommend him to the citizenry and especially to the Lord Mayor and aldermen of London. • 18. Strategic Management of Human Resources Training models assignment The modern day work place is undergoing a wide array of changes, all resulted from the numerous challenges impacting the internal and external environment of business enterprises. Some examples in this sense include the growing forces of globalization and market liberalization, the increasing cultural diversity in workplaces, the shift from a manufacturing economy to a service economy, or the advancement of technology. In such a setting, the role of the staff members is also suffering modifications as the employees are not just the individuals operating the machines, they have become the most valuable organizational assets (Hickman, 2005). The employees are now in charge of creating organizational value and sustaining the company in attaining its overall objectives. Given this scenario, economic agents come to place an increased emphasis on the relationship with the staffs and focus on the strategic management of their human resource (Noe, 2002). The strategic management of the human resource is revealed at virtually all levels of the relationship between the employer and the employee, since the need for a new hire is identified, up to the point where the employee leaves the firm. Some focal points of this strategic HRM include the motivation of the employees, their training, their reward or the offering of adjacent incentives, such as flexible working schedules. • 19. Analysis Of Mr. Hyde By Robert Louis Stevenson For as long as man has learned to fear, whopping frights have existed. Some of these were entirely born from fables, others based upon biased knowledge of the world. Legends of many ancient beasts survive for a multitude of generations. Of course we realize these humongous horrors are as real as fairy tales, but they serve a greater purpose than to ignite terror in people they mean to educate. While mere folktales, such as the bogeyman, keep toddlers in bed at night, authors for mature audiences use hellions to teach more valuable lessons. From astronomic leviathans, such as Ishirō Honda s Godzilla who educate about great responsibility, or the plesiosaurus of Ray Bradbury, who give windows into the minds of the lonely, to the horrors of the subconscious, exemplified by Robert Louis Stevenson s Mr. Hyde, horrors have deeper concepts to them that educate in an allegoric fashion. Human nature has always presented a natural love for fantastic stories, and many elders use these parables to disarm listeners and scare the message into them. In Ishirō Honda s original movie, Godzilla: King of the Monsters , destruction of major cities represents how humans should exercise caution with great power. • 24. Literary Romanticism Essay Literary Romanticism Literary Romanticism is a movement in literature present in the history of virtually every European country, the USA, and Latin America. It lasted from approximately 1750 to about 1870 and was characterized by reliance on the imagination and emotional subjectivity of approach, freedom of thought and expression, and an idealization of nature. The term romantic first appeared in 18th century English and originally meant romancelike #8212;that is, resembling the fanciful character of medieval romances. Romanticism was merely a product of bygone ages as are all works of literature. Heinrich Heine is an example of a German romantic poet. Because the profession of law was prohibited to Jews in Germany at that time, Heine, who was born Jewish, converted to Christianity in 1825 in order to obtain a law degree. He received his degree but never practiced law. In 1826 Die Harzreise (The Harz Journey 1887), a prose account of a trip he had taken to the Harz, a mountain range in central Germany, was published. This work, with its wit and grace of style, won success immediately and established Heine s literary reputation. In 1827 his Buch der Lieder (Book of Songs, 1846) was published. Many noted composers, including Franz Schubert of Austria and Robert Schumann of Germany, wrote music to accompany these verses. From 1827 to 1831 Heine lived in England and Italy as well as in various parts of Germany. During that period he wrote the three volumes of travel stories that, with Die Harzreise, make up the four volumes of his Reisebilder (1826 1831; Travel Pictures, 1887). He also wrote a number of prose works in which he displayed sympathy with the democratic ideas of the French Revolution (1789 1799) and bitterly satirized the feudal regimes of the German kingdoms and duchies (see Feudalism). In the 1830s Heine became a prominent member of a literary group known as Junges Deutschland (Young Germany), which attacked the German school of Romanticism for having come under the domination of the monarchy and the church. • 25. Lab Report Bacteria Introduction: Bacteria are among the most abundant of all organisms on earth. Some species of bacteria is always present in every different environment the plant has to offer. For this to be possible, bacteria are all very different from one another. This lab aimed to identify a certain colony of bacteria, using a variety of tests at the disposal of scientists. The simplest method of narrowing down possibilities involves the use of a compound microscope to observe the general shape of the cells. The shapes of the bacteria can be Bacilli, Cocci, or Spirochete. This helps to further narrow the possibilities of what the bacterial species is. Bacteria can be further split into two different groups: Gram positive and Gram negative. A method known as Gram staining, which detects peptidoglycan, will stain a cell purple/blue in the presence of it and pink/red if the absence of it. I left a five dollar bill since it was the least I could do for being a guest in their temple of God and since the temple runs entirely off donations according to their website. And there were also two tall flags standing beside the display, an Indian flag and a United States flag. Everything was going well though my self guided tour at the Valley Hindu Temple, until I noticed something that caught me off guard and surprised me vastly. The thing that really surprised me was an icon of a swastika. I didn t know if it was a mistake or not, I was confused by what I was seeing. Until later when I got home and here s what I learned. It s comforting to know that the symbol did not mean what I believed it might have meant. • 43. Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency Is A State Agency Of... The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is a state agency of the state of Tennessee. Their goal is to manage the states fish and wildlife population and also to enforce the wildlife related laws of the state. They help to protect and preserve the right to hunt not only for the present time, but also for the future. In just this past year, the agency has established some new regulations that have caused an uproar in the hunting community. The two rules which have been headlined in most conversations is the new two buck limit for the states hunting season, and the new antler restrictions on what is considered a buck. Due to the success of many other states with fewer buck limits, TWRA has established these rules. These new rules are designed to have long term affects on not only hunters, but also possibly the whole state for years to come. While there may be a lot of good that may come from these new changes, there also may be a negative impact hidden between the lines. These rules have been designed to increase the amount of trophy deer in the state, increase the amount of doe kills in the state, and also to truly make hunters picky about what they shoot. The ultimate dream of nearly all outdoorsmen in the United States of America today is to kill a mature old whitetail buck, and these chances have been very few and far between in the state of Tennessee in the past. In order for a male whitetail deer to grow into, what some might call, a trophy buck, it will take a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Changing A Company s Culture Changing a Company s Culture When it comes to corporate culture, there would be no better example than Apple Computer as how change can take place based on the leadership of a single individual. This would be no other than Steven Paul Jobs, better known to the world of Steve Jobs. Mr. Jobs was worth slightly over million dollars at the age of 23. By the time he was 24 years old he was worth just over $10 million and by the time he reached the age of 25 was worth well over $100 million dollars. A staggering difference in just a three year period (Denning, 2011). In the interview that was given to Robert Cringely in 1995 for a show that was going to air on the Public Broadcasting System (PBS) entitled Triumph of the Nerds (Denning, 2011) Steve Jobs tells how he created the culture at Apple from being different than the status quo. He speaks at length about costs and how the accountants would never seem to see eye to eye with him when it came to cost. What Jobs found along the way was that is just the way things were always done in the past but other institutions and that was not going to be the case at Apple Computer. He knew he could do better and change the way people would think even when it came to the accounting department at Apple (Jobs, Cringely, Sen, 1995). At the time the interview was given Steve Jobs was no longer working for Apple even though he was its founder he had resigned from the company 10 years prior and many things have changed for the worse at Apple ... • 45. Oresteia Suffering Into The Truth Analysis Oresteia: Suffering Into the Truth Oresteia is a script whose story goes on by recalling Orestes lost memories. The main idea which is prevalent throughout this story is about finding the truth hidden in the acts of revenge, lies, and fates which are intricately intertwined. However, as the truth does not always give us hope and pleasant, in this story, the characters are suffered by the truth and the way to find it. Orestes father, Agamemnon, is suffered for the truth of the prophecy, the child is the price: if he kills his child, his country will win the war. Due to this prophecy, Agamemnon is tortured and agonizing between his two important roles: father of his family and father of the country. If he chooses his family and doesn t kill his child, they will lose the war. All people in the country will be tortured as slaves and colonists. However, if he chooses the win, the peace and the pleasant from a family will not exist anymore. His family will be demolished. Eventually, in the middle of the story, he decides to kill Iphigenia. Agamemnon chooses his country, his subjects, and the win, not his family s peace. He makes Iphigenia drink three solutions including the pills which make her die. I feel like I ve done something so wrong that my whole life, my family, nothing will be able to the worst mistake. I got it wrong. It was wrong. It was wrong (Aeschylus, 56.) • 46. Molly Moony Case Study Introduction Evidence based practice is the foundation of safe and effective patient centered care. In a medical surgical environment a holistic knowledge, understanding and approach to patient care is crucial. During this essay I will demonstrate my knowledge of these principles through a case study analysis involving a patient named Molly Moony. This analysis will discuss Molly s injury of a fractured neck of femur, her surgical procedure, the anatomy and physiology of the hip joint, her immediate postoperative care, assessments that should be performed upon returning to the ward and her ongoing care and discharge planning. Anatomy and Physiology of The Hip Joint Molly Moony has fallen in her home resulting in a fractured neck of femur. The outermost layer is a membrane called periosteum, a fibrous connective tissue responsible for protection, connected to fibers called Sharpey s (perforating) fibers linking to the bone (Marieb, 2012). The external surface at the end of the bone is covered with articular cartilage, reducing joint friction (Marieb, 2012). Within the bone is a thin layer of compact bone called epiphyses, encompassing spongy bone and yellow marrow (Marieb, 2012). Bones possess five important functions including, support, protection, movement, storage and blood cell formation (Marieb, 2012). Bones protect and support the body by acting as a rigid framework surrounding delicate organs and tolerating enormous pressure when weight bearing and moving (Marieb, 2012). Bones are also responsible for storing fat, minerals and producing blood cells (hematopoiesis) within the cavities of bone marrow (McCance Huether, 2014) (Marieb, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
