Movie Reflection In The Movie Drai Santoshi Maa
Movie Reflection
In the film Jai Santoshi Maa the goddess Santoshi Maa is depicted in many different forms. Santoshi
Maa is the goddess of happiness , she has many forms in which she provides hope for the people. She
wears an elegant sari using the gesture of blessing with her hand, and at when she takes her many
different forms she has a very calm demeanor which provides hope for her devotees. This idea of hope
is shown in the movie multiple times, Satyawati, who is a very faithful devotee of Santoshi Maa, falls
in love with Birju who comes from a farming family. The two are able to get married without any
problems but the during this time Parvati, Brahmani, and Lakshmi had noticed that Santoshi Maa had
been becoming more and more popular and they get jealous. As a result of this they decide that they
wanted to torture Sarasvati as she was a big fan of Santoshi Maa. We see this torment right on the day
of the wedding as Satyavati s sister in laws are horrible human beings who do everything in their
power to bring her down. They give similar treatment to Birju as well as they disrespect him, they
feed him left overs and call him useless. This idea of feeding a son of the family leftover as a sign of
disrespect is still prominent in India today, because of the idea that women are suppose to provide the
men of the family with fresh cooked food not leftovers. Eventually Birju gets fed up with all this and
leaves the house to prove his worth. When leaving the goddess send a

Reflection Paper On Counselling
The first counseling session was an introductory time for me and Counselor, Janine King to become
acquainted. Janine introduced her techniques and her journey to becoming a counselor. I shared my
counseling journey, my academic goals, and the areas that I wanted to focus on during the ten weeks.
The session ended by creating a road map of the areas in my life that might be explored. In session
two, Janine went over my MMPI results and inquired about my life story. It was interesting to learn
that Janine s MMPI results were similar to mine. Janine encouraged me to view the results with an
open mind and use the new information to propel growth in my life. I spent the rest of the session
sharing my life story, and secrets about my past that had never been shared before. The session closed
with reflection and prayer. The third session I was introduced to an exercise called Safe Place, as well
as The Six R s Script. The Six R s are: recognizing my sin, repenting of the sin, receiving freedom,
realigning with God, and rejoicing in the healing and freedom I received. I walked through the Six R s
Script after I identified sin that still gripped me. The session ended with Safe Place exercise and
prayer. I left with action steps on how to move forward in my new found healing and freedom. The
fourth session was full of struggle and frustration. I went into the session thankful for the victory from
the week before, but as we delved into my past

Disadvantages Of Team Training
Team Training
Team building and team training is quite an effective way of keeping the morale, of team members, up
and their individual capabilities, in parallel to the objectives of a whole team. Being a part of the
business that values the team building the same as it does in the case of gathering new customers, is
really something which only the luckier ones get. Believe us! There are many team building methods
that a brand can use for increasing the team bonding and thus leading to a productivity level, even
higher than before. But of all the methods, team training is the most effective one. In this method, the
performance of the individuals, who are working towards a common goal, is coordinated in such a
way that one member s capabilities supports the other member.

These goals and objectives change as the team grows in different stages, i.e. forming stage, storming
stage, and norming stage. Each stage features its own reasoning, advantages, and disadvantages. For
example, the forming stage deals with binding the group, so that the group members get to know each
other and begin to have a sense of what an actual team looks like. It also focuses on aligning the
individual purposes so that they reinforce each other s goals as if they have shared targets. Moreover,
the roles of the leader are also established here.
The storming stage takes the objectives of the forming stage to a level above while adding more to it.
This stage ensures that all the members are enjoying good working relationships with each other and
are capable of sharing thoughts without any difficulty. This leads to nurturing the shared problem
solving skills and assists in the generation of new ideas. In this stage and from here on, short term
objectives and milestones are used to get a clear picture of how the team is performing

Systems Theory, Ecological Theory And Sociological...
It goes without saying that police officers will respond to an unimaginable amount of domestic
violence investigations during their career. Sadly, these investigations have been found to account for
22% of in the line of duty deaths (National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, 2016). Lesson
1 of this course has introduced me to various theories to explain the causes of domestic violence,
which in turn has expanded on my perception of these investigations. I have chosen to focus on the
following theories: systems theory, ecological theory and exchange theory.
All the above noted theories are sociological perspectives. Proponents of sociological theories of
family violence believe that family violence is a normal part of family life (Gelles Straus, 1979).
Specifically, systems theory proposes that domestic/family violence is normal rather than abnormal.
Systems theory suggests that the cycle of violence is a result of cause effect. Whether or not the
violence continues is directly related to the feedback from the violence. Positive feedback increases
the likelihood of future violence, whereas negative feedback reduces the likelihood of violence
(Straus, 1973).
Ecological theory is similar to systems theory, in that it focuses on interrelated networks that either
influence or discourage violent behavior. Donald Dutton ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Exchange theorists identify three points of the cause of violence; 1. Violence occurs when the rewards
outweigh costs, 2. A lack of social controls within the family decrease the potential costs, thereby
increasing violence, 3. Inequality within family and social structures reduce the costs and thereby
increase the rewards of using violence (Gelles, 1983). Proponents of this theory believe that to reduce
family violence the rewards must be decreased, and the costs must be

Professional Paramedic Personal Statement
In the near future I aspire to embark on a career as a qualified professional Paramedic with a
successful degree. I want to aid people in threatening and non threating life situations at my extreme

study paramedic science at university level and be part of the NHS; a place where life, love and loss
unfolds every single day.
My recent voluntary work at Robert Harvey Nursing Home gave me direct experience with patients
suffering from various mental health conditions. This challenging experience required me to speak

Francisco Franco Essay examples
Francisco Franco
Francisco Franco was the dictator of Spain from 1939 to 1975, including the time of WW2. Perhaps
he was better known as El Caudillo, translated into English as The Leader. He was born and raised in
Spain. He was a very brilliant military general who led Nationalist rebels in defeating the Spanish
government during the Spanish Civil War. Although he was viewed as a Fascist Dictator, he strongly
opposed communism. He was an extremely important figure in the course of world history.
Francisco Paulino Hermenegildo Teodulo Franco Bahamonde, Francisco Franco as he was known,
was born on December 4, 1892 at the coastal city of El Ferrel in the region known as Galicia in
Northwestern Spain. He was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1928 he was named director of General Military Academy at Zaragoza. He was recognized as a
national hero.
Franco was engaged in 1917. His fiancée was Carmen Polo. Their marriage was delayed, however,
because Franco was called back into active duty in Morocco. They would have one daughter, Carmen,
together in 1928.
The Spanish Monarchy fell in 1931 and the new government was strongly opposed to the military. The
General Military Academy was broken up and Franco was placed on the inactive list. He was restored
to active duty in 1933 and in 1934 was promoted to major general. Franco s tactical genius shined
once again when he was called upon to crush a small band of rebels in October of 1934. After this, he
was promoted to chief of the Spanish Army s general staff. After this promotion, Franco started to
strengthen the military, as the military was weakened by the antimilitary policy of the Spanish
Republic.
The government of Spain dissolved once again and Franco was removed from the general staff. He
was moved to duty in the Canary Islands. Although it was against Franco s nature to oppose the
government, he joined Nationalist rebels against the government.
This was the beginning of the Spanish Civil War. Franco flew to Morocco and took command of the
Spanish Army there. He united the Nationalist parties and assumed the role of leader. The

Frank Lloyd Wright Falling Water Essay
Silsbee enjoyed designing buildings that were inspired by the Victorian movement. Thus, his buildings
were very narrow and tall with an asymmetrical house design. Wright enjoyed designing buildings that
were more progressive with low pitched roofs and an open floor plan. He described his own work as
gracefully picturesque compared to the other brutalities of his time. In 1888, Wright began working
for the Adler and Sullivan firm. The firm was looking for someone to finish the drawings for the
inside of an Auditorium Building. Wright was quickly chosen for the job and soon became an
apprentice in the firm. However, while working at this firm, he did not get along with the other
draftsmen. Sullivan knew of this, took care of Wright, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Fallingwater is a house designed by Wright in 1935 that can be found South of Pittsburgh. This
innovative house was built over a waterfall. It was originally a house for businessman Edgar J.
Kaufmann and Liliane Kaufmann, but now it stands as a National Historic Landmark. While it only
took Wright two hours to design, it took nearly 3 years to build the house because of conflicts between
Wright and the construction contractor. The contractor thought Wright was inexperienced and doubted
his choice of using reinforced concrete. Thus, to help settle any worries the contractor had, Kaufmann
sent Wright s design to a firm of consulting engineers to approve of the said design. Once Wright
heard this, he grew offended and threatened to leave the project if his drawings weren t returned.
Kaufmann gave in to Wright s demands and ended up burying the consulting engineer s report within
a stone wall of the house. Another conflict Kaufmann and Wright had dealt with supporting the West
terrace. Kaufmann decided to instal a supporting wall underneath the West terrace because there was a
noticeable sag after the concrete formwork was removed from the cantilever. Unfortunately for
Kaufmann, Wright discovered this and secretly removed the top course of stones. After about a month,
Kaufmann told Wright what he had done. In return, Wright showed Kaufmann what he himself had
done and how for the past month the cantilever has held

Difference Between Depression And Women Essay
More over the second hypothesis was that the mean difference in depression for men differed from the
mean difference in depression for women because according to Silverstein et al. (2013), women were
33% more likely than men to have pure depression and over 50% more likely to have somatic
depression. Finally, the third and last hypothesis was that the mean difference in self esteem for men
differed from the mean difference in self esteem for women because according to Sprecher, Brooks,
and Avogo, (2013), in a study among Blacks, Hispanics, Whites, and Asians, men had higher self
esteem than women across all races with the exception of black females who s self esteem did not
significantly differ from black men. Method Participants The current study consisted of a total of 80
undergraduate students who were recruited from the University of California Riverside. Consequently,
the ages of the participants ranged from 18 25 years of age with the average age being 21 years of old.
Furthermore, the sample was comprised of 60 females of the total 80 participants. Over all, the
majority of the sample consisted of 34 Hispanic students, including Mexican American, Central
American, and others. Next, 20 of the participants in the sample were Asian or Asian American
including Chinese, Japanese, and others. Moreover, the third biggest group of participants identified as
White Caucasian, Anglo European American, not Hispanic students who made up a total of 9

Effects Of Plastic Pollution
Thousands of plastic factories are producing tons of plastic goods which are popularly used by the
people because of their ease, cheapness and convenience. Due to non biodegradable nature they cause
hazardous negative impact on the environment. Disposal of plastic waste which are major cause of
environment pollution becomes carcinogenic to human, birth defects, impaired immunity, endocrine
disruption, development and reproductive effect. In addition to dumping of plastic material into
marine, a large number of species are known to be harmed or killed which could jeopardize their
survival, especially since many are already endangered by other forms of anthropogenic activities.
Marine animals are mostly affected through entanglement ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With sea turtles, they can mistake a plastic bag for a jellyfish and try to consume it and will lead to a
blockade in the gut and to internal death. When seabirds ingest plastic, it reduces the storage volume
of the stomach and make them eat less, which will result in starvation. Another major biotic factor in
marine life that is getting affected by plastic pollution is Zooplankton. Zooplankton are heterotrophic
planktons that are consumed by marine organisms. Since Zooplanktons are starting to contain toxins
from plastic, they will affect the other organisms who consume them in the food chain and in which
will also affect the humans who eats marine organisms. Not only does plastic cause damage to the
ocean, but it can also damage groundwater sources. Many regions are already facing issues with, but
water sources everywhere are in danger because of plastic pollution. Plastic toxins in dumps and from
litter can seep into the groundwater, which people drink every day. Coats 1
Due to the use of chemical additives during plastic production, plastics have potentially harmful
effects that could prove to be carcinogenic or promote endocrine disruption.
Some of the additives are used as phthalate plasticizers and brominated flame retardants.

The Invention Of Submarines, 1890-1920 s
Throughout the Progressive Era, 1890 to 1920, there was an enormous amount of change that would
forever change the history of the United States of America. Ten years into this era had brought the
biggest military technological innovation which was the first submarine, USS Holland Submarine.
This submarine was named after its designer, John P. Holland, who was an Irish immigrant who set the
foundation to the modern submarines. However, designs of having underwater boats did not start up in
the 1900 s but was thought of since the 1500 s. Cornelius Drebbel was the first inventor to make a
working submarine who was hired in 1603 by James 1 of England. With this it is obvious that the
development of an underwater boat has been there for a long time, but as time went on, it was
perfected each time while learning something new every time. On April 11, 1900, the U.S. acquired its
first submarine (Today in History April 11.) which transformed the Progressive Era by changing on

He was fascinated with the idea of building a submarine but did not have enough funds to continue his
plans until he came to the United States. In New Jersey, there was a group called Fenian Society who
was willing to fund his submarine experiments, which he wanted to use against the British navy. He
studied the failures of the previous submarines and then perfected and tested his first submarine,
known as the Fenian Ram, in 1878. After seeing his success, he knew that in order for his submarine
to be perfected he would need the United States approval. In 1898, John P. Holland launched the 53
feet long Holland submarine, and the United Stated was interested and purchased it in 1900 and
ordered six more to be built. The cost of this submarine was 150,000 dollars compared to today s
nuclear powered submarines which cost about 30,000,000

Fixed Interest Rate Mortgage
As a consumer planning for a home purchase, one of the major decisions that you will have to make is
deciding what type of mortgage will best meet your needs. In today s mortgage market, the types of
mortgages available to you can be divided into two categories, adjustable and fixed interest rate
mortgages.
Before discussing the benefits and pitfalls of each mortgage type, let s recap their primary differences.
A fixed rate mortgage is a mortgage where the rate and the monthly mortgage payments are fixed to a
specific amount for the entire life of the loan. An adjustable rate mortgage, also known as an ARM,
however, is a mortgage where the rate can fluctuate throughout the life of the loan. Because the rate in
an ARM can change, the monthly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The benefit of an ARM to you is that the short term interest rate on an ARM is typically lower than the
interest rate of a fixed rate mortgage. For example, If you plan on staying in a home for only 5 years, a
5 Year ARM is a good idea because its interest rate will be much lower than a 30 year fixed rate loan
and will cost you less. The danger of an ARM, however, is that if your plans change and you have to
stay in your home for more than 5 years, the ARM s interest rate can suddenly change after the 5 year
adjustment period, possibly making your monthly mortgage payment much higher and burdensome.
You can use an adjustable rate mortgage calculator to experiment with worst case payments of an
adjustable rate

As I make my way on this journey that is my life, I realize that I have always believed in the
fundamental worth of all humanity and my responsibility as a fellow human being to respect this
premise and also to support individuals, as much as I am able, to help unearth it should this basic truth

the field of Therapeutic Recreation (TR) are congruent with this philosophy. Making the decision to

When choosing to work with adults living with severe dementia, many people often ask me how or
why I do it. It s simple. Not only do I believe that all people have value, I likewise believe that all
people can contribute to society. The client who can no longer articulate their thoughts or needs or
desires is teaching me to listen and find alternative means of communication. In essence, they are
teaching me to be a better communicator. I think this is congruent with Sayers concept of meaningful
contribution. There are still so many things about the brain that we do not understand that I would find
it arrogant of me to assume that the person with dementia does not feel they are still contributing to
society in some way.
This improved communication skill, from my perspective, is an essential and necessary benchmark for
the establishment of an effective client/practitioner relationship. O Keefe (2008) urges us to listen to
the narrative, there s a story to be heard, if only we adjust our philosophical positioning.

Aristotle posits Eudaimonia, human flourishing and happiness, as the chief good of humanity achieved

Also we are the one s that want to pay for the wall and so i think that we should be the ones paying for

Mandatory Wolf In France
A man can be a beast. Deceptive eyes, a threatening grin, the capability to commit monstrous acts;
man and beast sound alike. This fine line that exists between fact and fiction is how legends thrive and
conquer the truth.
From 1764 to 1767 a series of vicious attacks plagued the population of Gévaudan, France, instilling
fear in many of its inhabitants. Numerous people were killed or severely injured, some reports stating
hundreds of victims, which sparked myths and stories that spread throughout France. The beast
blamed for these attacks was described as having a blood red coat, large teeth, and was said to be

Leonard s Short-Term Memory Loss In The Movie Memento
Memento In the beginning of the movie Memento you meet a guy named Leonard who is facing a
dilemma with his memory loss and trying to find his wife s killer. Through the movie he meets many

developed ways of dealing with his dilemma through methods of photos, and tattoos, but
unfortunately, he is in the same time loop dealing with the same dilemma over and over again.
Throughout the movie Leonard faces many difficulties one of which is his short term memory loss.
One of the problems is that he cannot make any new memories. However, he can remember
everything before his accident. During a flashback we witness one of the brief moments that lead up to
his condition. Not to mention he cannot trust himself or other people. At one point in his life he trusted
his wife to no ends, and she took advantage of it and tried to help him to regain his memory. She put

In Praise of Jared Diamond s Guns, Germs, and Steel Essay
In Praise of Jared Diamond s Guns, Germs, and Steel
Jared Diamond s bestseller Guns, Germs, and Steel (GG S) is an attempt to explain why some parts of
the world are currently powerful and prosperous while others are poor. Diamond is both a physiologist
and a linguist who spends a good deal of his time living with hunter gathers in Papua New Guinea. As
a researcher and as a human being, he is convinced that all people have the same potential. Hunter
gatherers are just as intelligent, resourceful, and diligent as anybody else. Yet material success isn t
equally distributed across the globe. Civilization sprung up in relatively few places and spread in a
defined pattern. I should emphasize that Diamond doesn t equate material ... Show more content on

Diamond argues that civilization arose from regions that were susceptible the domestication of both
plants and large mammals to plow fields. This combination vastly increased food production, which in
turn supported larger populations. From there, it s the standard political economy story about the
positive feedback loop of prosperity and social complexity favoring the evolution of more complex
forms of social organization, specialization, increased technical innovation, etc. This is the Guns and
Steel part of the story.
Diamond s account has an interesting twist, though. Most epidemic diseases are zoonotic, that is, they
are incubated in domestic animals. Crowding facilitates the spread of disease. Peoples who spent
thousands of years living near each other and their animals developed resistance to many
communicable diseases. Groups who weren t subject to these pressures did not develop the same
resistance. When Europeans came to the Americas after centuries of urban life, their diseases
decimated the indigenous populations. The guns and steel also facilitated the conquest, but Diamond
thinks the germs were the key factor.
Some critics have misinterpreted several key aspects of Diamond s argument. One critic writes:
Hey! No large domestic animals, so there s your excuse for a failure in the Americas. But there was a
domestic mammal throughout the two continents:

Essay On Athletic Director Duties
When comparing the list of athletic duties across the four schools, we found more similarities than
differences. In our group we have two public schools which consist of Scoggins Middle School in
McKinney, TX with 1,100 students and 7 sports teams, and Lakin High School in Lakin, Kansas with
400 students and 15 sports teams. We also have two private schools; Loyola Academy located in
Wilmette, IL has 2,000 students with 24 sports teams, and Cary Academy (Middle and High School)
located in Cary, NC has 800 students and 49 sports teams.
A key similarity between the four schools is scheduling. One of the main athletic director duties is the
scheduling of both home and away games, scheduling referees, and scheduling transportation for away
games. This important duty for any athletic director can take up a large part of their time depending on
how many teams they have per season.
Another area where we saw similarities is in staff management. In our four schools, it is the role of the
athletic director to hire the coaching staff, provide the necessary training, provide feedback and
guidance, and to help mediate conflicts with parents and student athletes. The ... Show more content

instance, in one of the private schools listed, the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is responsible for

Oedipus the King Greek Drama played an important civic role in ancient Greece. This is evident in the

prophecies and the fact that the Gods controlled their destiny. If something were to be wrong with
their lands then they would think that it was because something angered the gods, and in return would
try to sacrifice animals in an attempt to make the Gods happy. These are some of the key points on

romantic side of their relation in this play so it is hard to say that there are any demonstrations of
Oedipal Complex in this play. Secondly Oedipus didn t know that Jocasta was his mother until the
very end. One might say that Oedipus might have originally agreed to married Jocassta because he
found her unconsciously attracted because of that fact that she was his biological mother. However,
her mother abandoned Oedipus at such a young age that he literally had no memory of Jocasta. Hence,
it is hard to believe that Oedipus unconsciously finds Jocasta attractive, not because she is attractive,

The political/geographic situation in Europe at the beginning of World War I was full of conflict and

Terracotta Vase Analysis
The vase Terracotta calyx krater (bowl for mixing wine and water) from 490 BCE Attributed to the
Kleophrades painter reflects Greek societal value of patriotism. This vase used frequently to mix wine
and water presents soldiers showcasing their armor. The necessity for patriotism is reflected through
the emphasis on the strength of the soldiers. Furthermore, it is shown through the idealization of the
military. This vase conveys strength and power by placing warriors, a largely respected group known
for fighting and their athleticism. The warriors in the vase are positioned in a manner in which their
armor is in clear display. The centered figure stands with his head facing towards the side, whilst most
of his body is directed forwards. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The vase presents a male figure with a helmet that is custom to military members. He is shown
carrying an item with two heavy ends drooping and is shown hunched in order to carry a large barrel
of items. The figure is most likely shown carrying military equipment. The figure s body is also
defined with toned and muscular arms highlighting body ideals. Beside the figure there is also another
helmet, identical to the one on the figures head, a headgear with a large hook like shape on the top
with small patterns decorating it. Right beside the figure, there is armor laying on the ground, angled
towards the right causing our eyes to move towards that side. On the far right, another figure is shown,
similar to the other figure. However according to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, this vase is in a
fragmentary state, thus much of the paint has peeled off. This is reflected on that figure as only half of
a body is displayed. To add on this lower half of the body is decorated with armor and long toned legs.
This depicts the strength and power of the figures through the state of their bodies. Behind the figure
there is a small feminine figure on the back of an animal, emphasized by the use of the black figure
technique in comparison to the rest being painted through the red figure technique. This may represent
an Amazonian since they were known for fighting and according to Greek Art: Pottery page 7, vase

Today s Day And Age Sexuality And The Advertising Market
~~Forces of Nature: Research In today s day and age where sexuality and the need to be thin has
become prominent in both fashion and the advertising market, it is important to create product for
everyone in mind. The purpose of Forces of Nature s research is to determine if there is a market in
producing clothing that is made with the everyday girl in mind. We do know that the teen market is a
force all on its own, raking in over $1.76 billion dollars in the year 2001. As more and more children
and teens are taking on the responsibility of choosing their clothes, shoes and cosmetics, they are
looking for items that suit them in a more sophisticated manner at a price that fits their budget
(Henson, 2002). The company needs to make sure that we are not producing items that fit an adult
lifestyle more than a teen one. While there is a tendency to view them as little adults it does not work
this way in their mind. They have their own likes and dislikes and definitely do not want a product
that their mother thinks is cool. Just like with the cosmetic industry, forces of nature wants to give
teenage girls styles the fit their personalities and their pocketbook (Marchie, 2001). One way of doing
this is to go into the school setting, as FIM did for Brylcreem s hair gel. They brought the product to
the children and were able to gather first hand information on what the student s liked and disliked
about the product. This

Feasibility Of Designing Partial Agonists Of The Human...
This article presents a study performed to demonstrate the feasibility of designing partial agonists of
the human muscarinic M1 receptor that would modulate the receptor in two distinct ways
simultaneously. It also explains the signaling behavior of the receptor.
The muscarinic M1 receptor was described as the one of five subtypes of the muscarinic G protein
coupled receptors (GPCRs) with the highest expression in the central nervous system. Two
downstream effects of activating the M1 receptor were identified, activating of phospholipase C
mainly by Gq/G11 proteins and influencing ion channels like the N methyl D aspartate (NMDA)
receptor and voltage gated Ca2+ channels. These two ion channels were reported to be therapeutic

The hybrids synthesized were classified into four main groups (2, 3, 4, and 5) based on the orthosteric
agonist, the allosteric moiety and the number of carbon atoms in the linker moiety.
Derivatives of benzyl quinolone carboxylic acids (BQCA), that function as positive allosteric
modulators and allosteric agonists of M1 receptors were linked with the M2 selective orthosteric
superagonist, Iperoxo in hybrids 2 and 3. In hybrid 4, another derivative of BQCA was linked with the
compound 1 (AF292), a M1 selective agonist. Hybrid 5 was synthesized with compound 1 linked to
the allosteric binding moiety of an allosteric agonist, 1 (1′ (2 methylbenzyl) 1,4′ bipiperidin 4 yl) 1H
benzo[d]imidazol 2(3H) one (TBPB) using linker moieties of three different lengths.
The response obtained when the receptors were saturated with Acetylcholine, the endogenous
muscarinic ligand, was defined as the system s maximal response. The data obtained from the DMR
measurements were reported to have been analyzed using the operational model of agonism for
dynamic ligands. From the results, iperoxo did not function as a superagonist at the M1 receptor. The
synthesized hybrid compounds in the groups 2 and 3 were observed to act as partial agonists at the M1
receptor. The substitutions on the quinolone moiety of group 2 compounds were said to have no

Alternative Lumber Harvesting Methods Like Shelterwood
The U.S. Lumber Industry is one of the largest industries in the U.S., employing more than 1.4 million
people and producing products valued at more than $200 billion every year according to the USDA
(2004). The US Forest Industry is unique in that their methods for harvesting lumber are closely
scrutinized by private organizations, sectors of the U.S. government, as well as internally by the
logging companies themselves. In many areas, old techniques and methods are being discarded and
researchers are struggling to keep up. Forests of the Pacific Northwest have primarily been harvested
with clear cutting systems. Clear cutting systems lead to many ecological issues such as poor
aesthetics, habitat disturbance, increased streamflow, and soil erosion among others (Bliss 2000).
Alternative lumber harvesting methods like Shelterwood (Matthews 1989) and Group Selection
systems have been developed as different approaches to Silvicultural maintenance. The proposed
benefits of these approaches as alternatives to clearcutting include; greater forest biodiversity, greater
aesthetic quality, improved forest regeneration and greater future timber fields of that area. In order to
effectively determine the feasibility of the alternate lumber harvesting systems of Shelterwood
Systems Group Selection Cutting, long term observation of forest regeneration is needed. Forest
regeneration is key in determining the success of any silvicultural system. This paper will look at

Nick Murray Research Paper
One day in a thick forest, a man named Nick Murray was on a survival expedition. He and his German
Shepherd, Roxie, roamed the forest looking for firewood. They searched for a long time, but nothing
was dry enough to start a fire with. Finally, they found what they needed, dry wood. They went to the

Roxie yelped in hunger. Nick already knew what Roxie wanted. They headed for the small river

The Importance Of Cell Phones In The College Classroom
Unfortunately, cell phones have become one of the biggest challenges instructors face in college
classrooms as these devices have become a pervasive part of young people s lives. What used to only
make phone calls and send text messages, now does our emailing, sends us Facebook and Snapchat
notifications, and plays music. Additionally, our cell phones are not only used for personal activities,
but for school and work life. We want to be reachable in case of an emergency, but the constant stream
of notifications has led our productivity to significantly tumble down. Recently, I noticed that in many
of my classes, even though the professor says there is a no phone policy, many students are scrolling
through their social media feeds or responding to a text rather than paying attention to the lecture of
the day. I admit to using my phone constantly during class, which often has led my grades to suffer
poorly. Rather than paying attention to the lesson, I was checking on buzzing notifications of
entertainment news and random trivia. Because I was not listening to my professor earlier in the day, I
had a difficult time trying to complete the homework assignment. Thus, in an attempt to be epistemic
temperate, for the last two days, I tried to not use my phone during class lectures and study time to
measure my productivity. During my first lecture, it was quite difficult to not constantly check my
phone and see what was going on social media. At one point in the morning, I

Environmental Interest for Wolves

Environmental Interest for Wolves at Yellowstone National Park
Wolves play an important environmental interest in Yellowstone for many reasons. Wolves keep the
world of predators and prey in balance. After wolves eat, the leftovers from their kills feeds many
animals like scavengers, bald, golden eagles, magpies, coyotes, ravens, and bears. Without wolves to
share land with coyotes they will kill more elks mostly on pocket gophers, voles, and other small
animals. It s an environment interest to keep wolves in Yellowstone because for example make
animals benefit. The elk is the main prey of wolves and without the stress of greedy wolves, elk will

It s an environmental interest and benefits to the recovery of wolves because wolves are predator of
elks and bringing them back will reduce overpopulation. Because of the growing population of elks
while wolves were in extinction, this resulted to an imbalance in the ecosystem and overfeeding on
vegetation, that s why is very important to make sure we have wolves in Yellowstone because if we
don t then it will result in an imbalance in our ecosystem because one organism needs the other one to
survive and be balanced.
In conclusion, wolves are important to balance the ecosystem and renew our ecosystems. They
improve the territory and increase populations of a lot of species from birds of prey to pronghorn, and
even trout. The presence of wolves impacts the population and behavior of their prey, changing the
chasing and hunting patterns of prey animals and how they move about the land. This, in turn, flows
throughout plants and animal s areas, often changing the landscape itself. For this reason, wolves are
described as a important species, whose existence is fundamental to maintaining the health, structure

ELECTRICAL MACHINES AND CONTROL
PROJECT
Three Phase Induction Motors
Introduction: The three phase induction motor is considered the mostly used electrical motor in all the
industrial applications. The three phase induction motors are considered good because of their
simplicity, rigidity, cheapness, easily maintained and could be made up with features that are suitable
for most industrial requirements.
What is the Three Phase Motor? This motor (similarly to any other electrical motor) has a stator and a
rotor; the stator s role is to carry a three phase winding (stator winding) which is supplied from a three
phase supply. While the rotor s role is to carry a short circuit winding (rotor winding), the
electromagnetic induction is the way through which the rotor winding gains the voltage and the power
from the stator winding.
Advantages Disadvantages
It s construction is simple Hard speed changing
Economical starting torque is substandard to d.c. shunt motor
Easily maintained
Very efficient
Self starter torque
Construction of the machine:
As illustrated above, the three phase induction motor consists of two main parts; a) stator which is the
fixed non moving part, b) rotor which is the moving (rotational motion) part fitting into the stator. the
only separation between these two parts is a small gap of air with a distance ranging from 0.4 mm to 4
mm, this distance depends on the motor s power.

Semantic Search Based On Web Search Essay
The upcoming section will address the some of the architectural concepts put forth by the scholars in
semantic search and the prime concern of the paper; how the semantic searching process will help in
augmenting the result of web search. Further, the paper will also put light on a proposal to build a
semantic search based on previous keyword search engine but with the added capability of Natural
Language Processing.
3. SEMANTIC SEARCH TECHNIQUES
This section describes different semantic methodologies being forwarded by the scholars. Currently,
various types of search engines are being deployed to access the information required. Each search
engine has its own features and uses different algorithms to index, rank and present web documents.
Hence the result put forth on information retrieval by the search engines are different from one
another. And there is not a definite and unique single technology or architecture that leads to a logical
and meaningful search engine. In fact there can be various ways to achieve this.
G. Madhu, Dr. A. Govardhan, and Dr. TV Rajinikanth in their survey of intelligent semantic web
search engines have addressed the two types of research problems in creating semantic search engine.
The first problem of matching a query to the concerned documents with related information in an
intelligent and meaningful way can be solved with semantic annotations to produce intelligent and
meaningful information by using query interface mechanism and

We are positioned at the point where the River Aisne and River Oise meet. We know that holding our

know that holding our ground is very important, we had hoped for a chance to drive those nasty
Germans back to where they came from. The day started slow, the sleep I longed for had eluded me as
normal. Being tired in battle was no good thing, and almost no one on our side got much sleep.
Thankfully, we re sure no one on the other side got much sleep either. In the wee hours of the morning
before daybreak we prepared for battle. I had all those feelings rushing back to me; scared, anxious,
excited, and nervous. Once we felt we were ready we all quickly headed for our posts. There was no
good way to fight a battle in these trenches. Whoever got chosen to attempt an attack was almost

Moral Issues In Remember The Titans
English speech
Good Morning/Afternoon fellow peers and Mr Harrop, today I am going to speak to you about the
moral dilemmas and moral issues in non literary texts such as Remember the Titans. Remember the
Titans is directed by Boaz Yakin and was made on the 25th of January 2000, the film revolves around
the struggles that many people had in the changes that were made in 1971. This speech will be
revolving moral issues and dilemmas that are shown throughout the movie. The most prominent
characters in the film that face these issues and dilemmas are Gerry Bertier and Julius Campbell. both
characters face their morals with inner and outer conflicts that are shown throughout the film, these
include Gerry choosing his teammates over his girlfriend and when Julius had to accept his white
teammate, Louie Lastik, trying to befriend them.
In Alexandria 1971, high school football is a way of life, for everyone. So when a local school board
was forced to integrate an all black school with an all white school, the foundation that football was
set on would be put to the test. During this film, many of the characters suffer moral issues and
dilemmas that change the way that they will see things forever. Those characters include Julius
Campbell and Gerry Bertier who both struggle to befriend not only one another but to come to terms
with the changes around them.. Those are some of the biggest obstacles for a teenager from that time

Analysis Of Phantasmagoria s Wickedest Tale Of All
Phantasmagoria`s Wickedest Tale of All is a stage performance which consists of different stage play
like; The Conqueror Worm pt 1 5, The Churel, The Churel Dance/Solo and The Masque of the Red
Death by Edger Allan Poe. I think the Churel was most the longest among the few that were
performed. The Churel is about when a pregnant woman dies during the Hindu Festival of Lights
which they also call Diwali and they believed that the pregnant woman will turn into Churel and can
come back to hunt either their family or young men by sucking their blood or eating their flesh.
In this play The Churel performed by the Phantasmagoria`s was a beautiful pregnant woman who had
three brothers that were uncontended and jealousy of her no matter how pleasing she was to her

burying her upside down to prevent her from becoming Churel. Because they failed to bury her upside

and killed his brothers one after the other and when the husband rushed to her, she also killed the
husband, not because she didn`t love the husband but because of what she has to turn into,

  • 2. Movie Reflection In The Movie Drai Santoshi Maa Movie Reflection In the film Jai Santoshi Maa the goddess Santoshi Maa is depicted in many different forms. Santoshi Maa is the goddess of happiness , she has many forms in which she provides hope for the people. She wears an elegant sari using the gesture of blessing with her hand, and at when she takes her many different forms she has a very calm demeanor which provides hope for her devotees. This idea of hope is shown in the movie multiple times, Satyawati, who is a very faithful devotee of Santoshi Maa, falls in love with Birju who comes from a farming family. The two are able to get married without any problems but the during this time Parvati, Brahmani, and Lakshmi had noticed that Santoshi Maa had been becoming more and more popular and they get jealous. As a result of this they decide that they wanted to torture Sarasvati as she was a big fan of Santoshi Maa. We see this torment right on the day of the wedding as Satyavati s sister in laws are horrible human beings who do everything in their power to bring her down. They give similar treatment to Birju as well as they disrespect him, they feed him left overs and call him useless. This idea of feeding a son of the family leftover as a sign of disrespect is still prominent in India today, because of the idea that women are suppose to provide the men of the family with fresh cooked food not leftovers. Eventually Birju gets fed up with all this and leaves the house to prove his worth. When leaving the goddess send a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Reflection Paper On Counselling The first counseling session was an introductory time for me and Counselor, Janine King to become acquainted. Janine introduced her techniques and her journey to becoming a counselor. I shared my counseling journey, my academic goals, and the areas that I wanted to focus on during the ten weeks. The session ended by creating a road map of the areas in my life that might be explored. In session two, Janine went over my MMPI results and inquired about my life story. It was interesting to learn that Janine s MMPI results were similar to mine. Janine encouraged me to view the results with an open mind and use the new information to propel growth in my life. I spent the rest of the session sharing my life story, and secrets about my past that had never been shared before. The session closed with reflection and prayer. The third session I was introduced to an exercise called Safe Place, as well as The Six R s Script. The Six R s are: recognizing my sin, repenting of the sin, receiving freedom, realigning with God, and rejoicing in the healing and freedom I received. I walked through the Six R s Script after I identified sin that still gripped me. The session ended with Safe Place exercise and prayer. I left with action steps on how to move forward in my new found healing and freedom. The fourth session was full of struggle and frustration. I went into the session thankful for the victory from the week before, but as we delved into my past ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Disadvantages Of Team Training Team Training Team building and team training is quite an effective way of keeping the morale, of team members, up and their individual capabilities, in parallel to the objectives of a whole team. There are many team building methods that a brand can use for increasing the team bonding and thus leading to a productivity level, even higher than before. These goals and objectives change as the team grows in different stages, i.e. forming stage, storming stage, and norming stage. Each stage features its own reasoning, advantages, and disadvantages. For example, the forming stage deals with binding the group, so that the group members get to know each other and begin to have a sense of what an actual team looks like. It also focuses on aligning the individual purposes so that they reinforce each other s goals as if they have shared targets. Moreover, the roles of the leader are also established here. The storming stage takes the objectives of the forming stage to a level above while adding more to it. This stage ensures that all the members are enjoying good working relationships with each other and are capable of sharing thoughts without any difficulty. This leads to nurturing the shared problem solving skills and assists in the generation of new ideas. In this stage and from here on, short term objectives and milestones are used to get a clear picture of how the team is performing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Systems Theory, Ecological Theory And Sociological... It goes without saying that police officers will respond to an unimaginable amount of domestic violence investigations during their career. Sadly, these investigations have been found to account for 22% of in the line of duty deaths (National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, 2016). Lesson 1 of this course has introduced me to various theories to explain the causes of domestic violence, which in turn has expanded on my perception of these investigations. I have chosen to focus on the following theories: systems theory, ecological theory and exchange theory. All the above noted theories are sociological perspectives. Proponents of sociological theories of family violence believe that family violence is a normal part of family life (Gelles Straus, 1979). Specifically, systems theory proposes that domestic/family violence is normal rather than abnormal. Systems theory suggests that the cycle of violence is a result of cause effect. Whether or not the violence continues is directly related to the feedback from the violence. Positive feedback increases the likelihood of future violence, whereas negative feedback reduces the likelihood of violence (Straus, 1973). Ecological theory is similar to systems theory, in that it focuses on interrelated networks that either influence or discourage violent behavior. Donald Dutton ... A lack of social controls within the family decrease the potential costs, thereby increasing violence, 3. Perhaps he was better known as El Caudillo, translated into English as The Leader. He was born and raised in Spain. He was a very brilliant military general who led Nationalist rebels in defeating the Spanish government during the Spanish Civil War. Although he was viewed as a Fascist Dictator, he strongly opposed communism. He was an extremely important figure in the course of world history. His fiancée was Carmen Polo. Their marriage was delayed, however, because Franco was called back into active duty in Morocco. They would have one daughter, Carmen, together in 1928. The Spanish Monarchy fell in 1931 and the new government was strongly opposed to the military. The General Military Academy was broken up and Franco was placed on the inactive list. He was restored to active duty in 1933 and in 1934 was promoted to major general. Franco s tactical genius shined once again when he was called upon to crush a small band of rebels in October of 1934. After this, he was promoted to chief of the Spanish Army s general staff. After this promotion, Franco started to strengthen the military, as the military was weakened by the antimilitary policy of the Spanish Republic. The government of Spain dissolved once again and Franco was removed from the general staff. He was moved to duty in the Canary Islands. Although it was against Franco s nature to oppose the government, he joined Nationalist rebels against the government. This was the beginning of the Spanish Civil War. • 9. Frank Lloyd Wright Falling Water Essay Silsbee enjoyed designing buildings that were inspired by the Victorian movement. Thus, his buildings were very narrow and tall with an asymmetrical house design. Wright enjoyed designing buildings that were more progressive with low pitched roofs and an open floor plan. He described his own work as gracefully picturesque compared to the other brutalities of his time. In 1888, Wright began working for the Adler and Sullivan firm. The firm was looking for someone to finish the drawings for the inside of an Auditorium Building. Wright was quickly chosen for the job and soon became an apprentice in the firm. However, while working at this firm, he did not get along with the other draftsmen. Sullivan knew of this, took care of Wright, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Fallingwater is a house designed by Wright in 1935 that can be found South of Pittsburgh. This innovative house was built over a waterfall. It was originally a house for businessman Edgar J. Kaufmann and Liliane Kaufmann, but now it stands as a National Historic Landmark. While it only took Wright two hours to design, it took nearly 3 years to build the house because of conflicts between Wright and the construction contractor. The contractor thought Wright was inexperienced and doubted his choice of using reinforced concrete. Thus, to help settle any worries the contractor had, Kaufmann sent Wright s design to a firm of consulting engineers to approve of the said design. Once Wright heard this, he grew offended and threatened to leave the project if his drawings weren t returned. Kaufmann gave in to Wright s demands and ended up burying the consulting engineer s report within a stone wall of the house. Another conflict Kaufmann and Wright had dealt with supporting the West terrace. Kaufmann decided to instal a supporting wall underneath the West terrace because there was a noticeable sag after the concrete formwork was removed from the cantilever. Unfortunately for Kaufmann, Wright discovered this and secretly removed the top course of stones. After about a month, Kaufmann told Wright what he had done. The Invention Of Submarines, 1890-1920 s Throughout the Progressive Era, 1890 to 1920, there was an enormous amount of change that would forever change the history of the United States of America. Ten years into this era had brought the biggest military technological innovation which was the first submarine, USS Holland Submarine. This submarine was named after its designer, John P. Holland, who was an Irish immigrant who set the foundation to the modern submarines. However, designs of having underwater boats did not start up in the 1900 s but was thought of since the 1500 s. Cornelius Drebbel was the first inventor to make a working submarine who was hired in 1603 by James 1 of England. With this it is obvious that the development of an underwater boat has been there for a long time, but as time went on, it was perfected each time while learning something new every time. Before discussing the benefits and pitfalls of each mortgage type, let s recap their primary differences. A fixed rate mortgage is a mortgage where the rate and the monthly mortgage payments are fixed to a specific amount for the entire life of the loan. The danger of an ARM, however, is that if your plans change and you have to stay in your home for more than 5 years, the ARM s interest rate can suddenly change after the 5 year adjustment period, possibly making your monthly mortgage payment much higher and burdensome. Diamond s account has an interesting twist, though. Most epidemic diseases are zoonotic, that is, they are incubated in domestic animals. Crowding facilitates the spread of disease. Peoples who spent thousands of years living near each other and their animals developed resistance to many communicable diseases. Groups who weren t subject to these pressures did not develop the same resistance. When Europeans came to the Americas after centuries of urban life, their diseases decimated the indigenous populations. The guns and steel also facilitated the conquest, but Diamond thinks the germs were the key factor. Some critics have misinterpreted several key aspects of Diamond s argument. One critic writes: Hey! The US Forest Industry is unique in that their methods for harvesting lumber are closely scrutinized by private organizations, sectors of the U.S. government, as well as internally by the logging companies themselves. In many areas, old techniques and methods are being discarded and researchers are struggling to keep up. Forests of the Pacific Northwest have primarily been harvested with clear cutting systems. Clear cutting systems lead to many ecological issues such as poor aesthetics, habitat disturbance, increased streamflow, and soil erosion among others (Bliss 2000). Alternative lumber harvesting methods like Shelterwood (Matthews 1989) and Group Selection systems have been developed as different approaches to Silvicultural maintenance. Nick had a blazing fire that he was cooking the fish on. Nick ate leftover berries and salmon again. They knew they had made it through this day. The night was long and bitter, which made it hard to sleep. The fire started to die down slowly until only the coals were burning. After a while, both of them drifted off into a deep sleep. Little did they know the next day would affect them for the rest of their lives. Nick woke to Roxie licking his face. He laughed and hugged his four legged friend. Nick packed his backpack with his knife, a coat, water, and more fish. He brought his bow and arrows and set off to hunt. Nick looked and saw a bunny out of the corner of his eye. He held his breath and let go of the string. The arrow propelled forward at the bunny, but he missed. The dog ran after the bunny using her speed. Nick yelled, No. Bad ... The focus of my paper is on the baking industry and how it has developed several food products that are gluten free. Some of these products were not gluten free before, but now because of consumer preference and more gluten free consumers many products have converted their products to gluten free. Today the industry and many consumers are making the switch, making it harder for the industry to keep the same quality, taste, and shelf life of a non gluten free product and making it the gluten free product many consumers want. • 33. The Importance Of Cell Phones In The College Classroom Unfortunately, cell phones have become one of the biggest challenges instructors face in college classrooms as these devices have become a pervasive part of young people s lives. What used to only make phone calls and send text messages, now does our emailing, sends us Facebook and Snapchat notifications, and plays music. Additionally, our cell phones are not only used for personal activities, but for school and work life. We want to be reachable in case of an emergency, but the constant stream of notifications has led our productivity to significantly tumble down. Recently, I noticed that in many of my classes, even though the professor says there is a no phone policy, many students are scrolling through their social media feeds or responding to a text rather than paying attention to the lecture of the day. I admit to using my phone constantly during class, which often has led my grades to suffer poorly. Rather than paying attention to the lesson, I was checking on buzzing notifications of entertainment news and random trivia. Because I was not listening to my professor earlier in the day, I had a difficult time trying to complete the homework assignment. Thus, in an attempt to be epistemic temperate, for the last two days, I tried to not use my phone during class lectures and study time to measure my productivity. During my first lecture, it was quite difficult to not constantly check my phone and see what was going on social media. At one point in the morning, I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Wolf Environmental Interest Andres Perez Ms. Elizabeth Szcypka Environmental Interest for Wolves February 15, 2017 Environmental Interest for Wolves at Yellowstone National Park Wolves play an important environmental interest in Yellowstone for many reasons. Wolves keep the world of predators and prey in balance. After wolves eat, the leftovers from their kills feeds many animals like scavengers, bald, golden eagles, magpies, coyotes, ravens, and bears. Without wolves to share land with coyotes they will kill more elks mostly on pocket gophers, voles, and other small animals. It s an environment interest to keep wolves in Yellowstone because for example make animals benefit. The elk is the main prey of wolves and without the stress of greedy wolves, elk will begin to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It s an environmental interest and benefits to the recovery of wolves because wolves are predator of elks and bringing them back will reduce overpopulation. Because of the growing population of elks while wolves were in extinction, this resulted to an imbalance in the ecosystem and overfeeding on vegetation, that s why is very important to make sure we have wolves in Yellowstone because if we don t then it will result in an imbalance in our ecosystem because one organism needs the other one to survive and be balanced. In conclusion, wolves are important to balance the ecosystem and renew our ecosystems. They improve the territory and increase populations of a lot of species from birds of prey to pronghorn, and even trout. The presence of wolves impacts the population and behavior of their prey, changing the chasing and hunting patterns of prey animals and how they move about the land. This, in turn, flows throughout plants and animal s areas, often changing the landscape itself. For this reason, wolves are described as a important species, whose existence is fundamental to maintaining the health, structure and balance of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. Electrical Machines and Control Project ELECTRICAL MACHINES AND CONTROL PROJECT Three Phase Induction Motors Introduction: The three phase induction motor is considered the mostly used electrical motor in all the industrial applications. The three phase induction motors are considered good because of their simplicity, rigidity, cheapness, easily maintained and could be made up with features that are suitable for most industrial requirements. What is the Three Phase Motor? This motor (similarly to any other electrical motor) has a stator and a rotor; the stator s role is to carry a three phase winding (stator winding) which is supplied from a three phase supply. While the rotor s role is to carry a short circuit winding (rotor winding), the electromagnetic induction is the way through which the rotor winding gains the voltage and the power from the stator winding. Advantages Disadvantages It s construction is simple Hard speed changing Economical starting torque is substandard to d.c. shunt motor Easily maintained Very efficient Self starter torque Construction of the machine: As illustrated above, the three phase induction motor consists of two main parts; a) stator which is the fixed non moving part, b) rotor which is the moving (rotational motion) part fitting into the stator. the only separation between these two parts is a small gap of air with a distance ranging from 0.4 mm to 4 mm, this distance depends on the motor s power. 1. • 38. Semantic Search Based On Web Search Essay The upcoming section will address the some of the architectural concepts put forth by the scholars in semantic search and the prime concern of the paper; how the semantic searching process will help in augmenting the result of web search. Further, the paper will also put light on a proposal to build a semantic search based on previous keyword search engine but with the added capability of Natural Language Processing. 3. SEMANTIC SEARCH TECHNIQUES This section describes different semantic methodologies being forwarded by the scholars. Currently, various types of search engines are being deployed to access the information required. Each search engine has its own features and uses different algorithms to index, rank and present web documents. Hence the result put forth on information retrieval by the search engines are different from one another. And there is not a definite and unique single technology or architecture that leads to a logical and meaningful search engine. In fact there can be various ways to achieve this. G. Madhu, Dr. A. Govardhan, and Dr. TV Rajinikanth in their survey of intelligent semantic web search engines have addressed the two types of research problems in creating semantic search engine. The first problem of matching a query to the concerned documents with related information in an intelligent and meaningful way can be solved with semantic annotations to produce intelligent and meaningful information by using query interface mechanism and ... • 39. My Life In The Trenches Today was one of the hardest days I have experienced in my lifetime. We dug trenches, moved equipment, and repaired broken equipment from sun up until sun down. To make this even worse, all day the wind blew fiercely towards our trenches forcing us to endure the horrific stench of the soldiers who have lost their lives in no man s land. I feel so horrible for the families of those lost brothers of mine. They will never have the opportunity to give their sons, husbands, fathers, and brothers a proper burial. It can get depressing here in these trenches as I do nothing but stare at the sky for hours on end with no sign of life in sight. We are positioned at the point where the River Aisne and River Oise meet. We know that holding our ground is important because if some how they were to break through our trenches here they would have clear access to Chantilly and then they would move to our most beloved city, Paris. Although we know that holding our ground is very important, we had hoped for a chance to drive those nasty Germans back to where they came from. The day started slow, the sleep I longed for had eluded me as normal. Being tired in battle was no good thing, and almost no one on our side got much sleep. Thankfully, we re sure no one on the other side got much sleep either. In the wee hours of the morning before daybreak we prepared for battle. I had all those feelings rushing back to me; scared, anxious, excited, and nervous. Once we felt we were ready we all quickly headed for our posts. There was no good way to fight a battle in these trenches. Whoever got chosen to attempt an attack was almost surely dead as soon as the orders were sent. Running across no man s land was one of the most treacherous tasks we ever had. I have only been sent out twice, luckily both times I have been able to retreat back to our trenches safely after our job was done. Both sides ran at each other like this all day during battles. As you can tell this hardly lead to any good as hundreds died and only feet were gained if you were lucky. Today was no different, we engaged in this same type of warfare for hours. I saw fellow soldiers die attempting to cross to the German s side, and I even personally pulled the trigger on Germans who attempted to cross to our side. Many soldiers say they struggle when killing others, but honestly I do not. I have seen too many of my brothers shot by those Germans across from us that I find pride in ... Remember the Titans is directed by Boaz Yakin and was made on the 25th of January 2000, the film revolves around the struggles that many people had in the changes that were made in 1971. This speech will be revolving moral issues and dilemmas that are shown throughout the movie. The most prominent characters in the film that face these issues and dilemmas are Gerry Bertier and Julius Campbell. both characters face their morals with inner and outer conflicts that are shown throughout the film, these include Gerry choosing his teammates over his girlfriend and when Julius had to accept his white teammate, Louie Lastik, trying to befriend them. In Alexandria 1971, high school football is a way of life, for everyone. So when a local school board was forced to integrate an all black school with an all white school, the foundation that football was set on would be put to the test. • 41. Analysis Of Phantasmagoria s Wickedest Tale Of All Phantasmagoria`s Wickedest Tale of All is a stage performance which consists of different stage play like; The Conqueror Worm pt 1 5, The Churel, The Churel Dance/Solo and The Masque of the Red Death by Edger Allan Poe. I think the Churel was most the longest among the few that were performed. The Churel is about when a pregnant woman dies during the Hindu Festival of Lights which they also call Diwali and they believed that the pregnant woman will turn into Churel and can come back to hunt either their family or young men by sucking their blood or eating their flesh. In this play The Churel performed by the Phantasmagoria`s was a beautiful pregnant woman who had three brothers that were uncontended and jealousy of her no matter how pleasing she was to her brothers. They were not satisfied because they were full of hate and jealousy that lead them to kill her before her husband could come back during the Hindu Festival. Her body was cremated instead of burying her upside down to prevent her from becoming Churel. Because they failed to bury her upside down and perform some rituals to prevent her from becoming churel, she came back as churel to hunt and killed his brothers one after the other and when the husband rushed to her, she also killed the husband, not because she didn`t love the husband but because of what she has to turn into, bloodsucker. Some of the aesthetic choice I found in the performance was the costume or dress. I think the dress they wore ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
