My Presentation And Resource Support Colleagues Essay
How would my presentation and resource support colleagues in practice?
I was part of group of six formed to produce a presentation and resource teaching materials to
colleagues. Our Group presentation was on Healthy Eating in Child Development and focused on
establishing healthy eating habits in early childhood development. This report is to critic and analyse
our group presentation and the resource.
The Presentation
The aim of the presentation was to inform early years practitioners the importance of educating and
constructing a long term health eating habits. Our presentation briefly highlighted the topic s history,
the government and department of education s participation in the significant of healthy eating. Also
my part was to explain, the psychological cognitive biases routed into our evolutionally need for high
calories food, which could stand the way of establishing health eating habits, plus methods to change
those perceptions. Furthermore inform the five food groups and importance of using them to produce
balance health diet. Finally, advantages and disadvantages on healthy eating and the significances of
encouraging parent s participation in long term healthy eating habits for their children.
The Resources
The format was a poster titled Healthy Eating For Children Eating the Rainbow Ideas for Parents . The
thinking behind this was to give our colleagues resource poster that they could supply when discussing
with parents their participation and

The Atlanta Museum Of Art
On November 7, 1883, an exhibition organized by May Wright Sewell, her husband Theodore, and a
small group of art minded citizens (History, 2017) began what would one day become the
establishment now known as the Indianapolis Museum of Art. Since that first exhibition, the IMA has
gone through several identity changes. They were first named, the Art Association of Indianapolis.
Their next identity was as the John Herron Art Institute, which opened a whole new chapter, as they
became a campus featuring both a museum and an art school. (History, 2017) Today, the IMA is one of
the largest encyclopedic art museums in the nation. The IMA has had various leadership and staff over
the years that have lent to how the museum operates today. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Library and Archives
Many do not know that the IMA houses two different libraries. The Stout Reference Library and the
Horticultural Society Library provide numerous resources for their visitors, which mainly consist of
students, IMA Staff, docents, collectors, researchers and even members of the community. The Stout
Reference Library focuses on the encyclopedia collection of the Indianapolis Museum of Art, while
also providing general information about art and art history of all periods. (Stout Reference Library,
2017) The Horticultural Society Library houses more than 2,000 volumes, including general reference
books and books on landscaping, specific plant families and horticulture. (Horticultural Society
Library, 2017) I mention the libraries because this semester, I am technically considered a library and
archives intern at the IMA. My mentor however is the archivist, Samantha Norling. She has done
impressive work at the IMA in such a short time. She jump started the Archives online portal, which
consists of thousands of digitized items from the archives. The IMA received a generous grant from
the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) (Documenting Modern Living, 2017), that
allowed for 17,000 items from the Miller House and Garden archival collection to be digitized.

Ricky Carmichael Research Paper
Ricky Carmichael competed in motocross from 1984 to 2007 and supercross from 2002 to 2007.
Between the ages of five and sixteen he won sixty seven amateur championship awards. When he
began racing professionally he won American Motocross Association (AMA) 125cc championships in
1997, twice in 1998, and in 1999. After he advanced to the 250cc class in 2000, Carmichael attained
the title of AMA Motocross champion with two perfect seasons of twenty four wins in 2002 and 2004
until 2007 where he entered stock car racing. In 1999 Ricky attempted to compete in AMA Supercross
but crashed hard in the first race of the season in Anaheim. Later in 2000 he hired Aldon Baker as a
personal trainer. Baker had been a mountain bike racer before teaching Carmichael and had only
recently lost his sponsorship. Baker had built a training regiment for the 21 year old which had him
running, lifting weights, and riding bicycles. Ricky dropped 20 pounds and built up a bit of muscle,
giving him the ability to easier control the heavy 250cc Supercross bikes. In 2001 Carmichael returned
to Supercross to win fourteen of sixteen races, taking home his first Supercross title. ... Show more

McGrath had been one of, if not the, top competitors in the sport. He returned in 2002 but was
disabled by arm pump (chronic exertional compartment syndrome), a sports related injury where the
muscles in your arms or legs expand too much from overuse and are blocked by the fascia, making the
muscles ineffective. When Ricky crashed in 1999, McGrath was the one who picked up the
championship as his eleventh title. Carmichael was proud to have beaten McGrath because at the time,
he was the best. After this, he went on to become the AMA Supercross champion for 2002, 2003,

Singapore Teen Submits Amos Yee Summary
Do you feel like people should be able to express their feelings freely? 18 year old Amos Yee is being
put in jail for that reason. In the article Singapore Teen Submits US Asylum Claim in Immigration
Court , there are three human rights being violated. Free to say what you want, unfair detainment, and
the right to an asylum. The first major right that is being violated is the freedom to say what you want.
In the article, it says how Amos Yee was being harassed by the Singapore government for expressing
his views on the religion and politics publicly. The article also says the prosecution against him was
illegitimate because it was based on laws that were meant to restrict his freedom of expression.

My Experience At My Bedroom s Door
When a frantic knock came to my bedroom s door, I was standing in front of a three sided mirror
looking at myself. I had purchased a floral print bikini the same day I had my conversation with
Howard s cousin Myra and lucky that I had. It had taken me nearly three days looking at myself in it
for my face to no longer redden. Even with the floral wrap giving the illusion that my lower half was
covered still left very little to the imagination as to what was under it. I had even returned to the
boutique to look over less revealing swimwear, but this was what Myra had suggested. My mind was
changed when the least expected event occurred. I had overheard a few women angry whispers about
someone like me who can eat all they want and look like they are preparing to walk down some
fashion runway in Malan. Skinny girls like me were always the ones the guys truly want and if I had
what they called boobs, then I would have men walking into walls. After looking up what boobs
actually meant, I now understood what Myra was saying and put back on my floral print bikini. I still
wasn t going to get breast implants, but at least I was no longer self conscious about being called Long
Legged Hendrix behind my back when I was in boarding school. Now I knew it was more than just an
insult. It was jealousy. Once again I caught myself looking at all of me in the three sided mirror
giggling and having all thoughts of inappropriate ideas. Whoever was disturbing my... Come in, I

Limited Liability
Discussion Assignment
You own and operate a small store. Currently, you are a single proprietor.
What kinds of risks and liabilities are you facing?
When a business is run as a single proprietor means that the owner is solely responsible and liable for
the actions of the company. The risk and the liability are that the personal assets such as house, car,
land, or bank savings are also part of the business. There is no legal separation of the assets between
the business and the owner of the business. For example, if the single proprietor defaults on a bank
loan or there is an accident on one of the employees, the owner is the sole responsible. The bank can
seize and liquidate the personal assets for the debts. In addition, the employee who suffered injury for
in a work related accident can sue and held the owner liable. The sole proprietor risks all the personal
assets if there is a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, this risk can be addressed by incorporating the business. There are various options of
incorporation depending on the type of business and goals. The most common are the Limited
Liability Company (LLC), Limited Partnership (LP), Limited Liability Partnership (LLP), or
Nonprofit Corporation.
When the sole proprietor incorporates, it gives advantages and disadvantages. The advantage is that
the owner can sales shares to investors and raise capital. Moreover, with an incorporated business the
owner and the employees can benefit from health insurance, workers compensation, insurance against
accidents, etc. Another advantage of incorporating the business is that it guarantees the safety of the
personal assets. For example, if there is an accident or the business defaults on the bank loan, only the
business will be liable. The personal assets such as your house or car will not be

Reforming Inequality Research Paper
Reforming Inequality Despite dipping below ten percent between the late 1960 s and early 1970 s, the
income gap in the United States has climbed steadily over the last fifty years. From its low point in
1973, the wealthiest Americans income share now exceeds even that which they held in 1928, on the
eve of the Great Depression. Experts have pointed to several potential culprits, including the
underrepresentation of lower and middle class citizens in legislatures, the shrinking power of
organized labor, the expanding power of organized business, and a tax system that seems to
disproportionately favor those at the top at the expense of those on the bottom. These factors vary
greatly in level of impact and the feasibility of potential solutions, ... Show more content on

No matter how effective a plan may be at the former, if it cannot succeed at the latter it will never be
implemented. Convincing enough voters to support the tax plan will be extremely difficult, due to
both the high levels of ideological opposition to taxes and the resources and organizational strength of
the measure s primary opponents. Per an April 2016 Gallup poll, 61% of Americans believe that the
wealthy pay too little in taxes (Gallup), so Americans at least agree in principle that taxes should be
increased for the wealthy. Additionally, by emphasizing elements of the measure that could appeal to
conservative voters, such as keeping money from leaving the economy, candidates could generate
crossover appeal to both conservative and liberal parts of the electorate. The chief difficulty,
ultimately, will be overcoming the formidable organizations those with a vested interest in keeping
taxes low can bring to bear. Just as they did in the 1970 s, business and financial leaders will marshal
their extensive capacity to launch multi faceted campaigns (Hacker 125), exerting pressure on
incumbent candidates to distance themselves from the new tax policy and organizing opposition via
advertising, political action committees, and donations. To counteract this disadvantage, candidates
must mobilize wealthy liberal activists sympathetic to the cause of tax

Roles Of The Puritan Society
Roles of the Puritan Society Puritans were English Protestants who were committed to purifying the
Church of England. After being religiously persecuted in England, the Puritans fled to North America
to start their new beginning. The Puritans maintained their Protestant beliefs with a patriarchal family.
Their family roles differed from other colonists that settled in America. In my paper, I will describe
the different roles that were established in the Puritan society. The Puritans society was based on an
important organizational structure, the rearing of their children, the role of the women, and the
dominance of men in their society. Puritans conformed to their social roles because it was deeply

pGlo Transformation Lab Report
I Introduction
The purpose of this experiment was to show the genetic transformation of E. coli bacteria with a
plasmid that codes for Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) and contains a gene regulatory system that
confers ampicillin resistance. A plasmid is a genetic structure in a cell that can replicate independently
of chromosomes. In this lab, the Green Fluorescent Protein, which is typically found in the
bioluminescent jellyfish Aequorea Victoria, was cloned, purified, and moved from one organism to
another with the use of pGlo plasmids. It was hypothesized that if bacteria that were transformed with
+pGlo plasmids are given the gene for GFP, then transformed cell colonies ... Show more content on

Next, the transformation efficiency was calculated by dividing the total amount of DNA on the agar
plate in μl by the number of cells growing on the +pGLO LB/amp/ara plate.
During the purification section of this lab, the LB/amp/ara agar plate was examined for well isolated
green colonies and the LB/amp plate was observed for white colonies with space between each other.
These colonies were circled on the outside of the plates using a marker. Next, two 15 milliliter culture
tubes containing 2 milliliters of nutrient growth media were obtained and labeled + and . Using a new
inoculation tube, the circled colonies from each plate were scooped out and immersed in their
respective culture tubes. Once the bacteria was mixed into the solution, the tubes were sealed and
placed horizontally into the 32⁰ incubator for 24 hours.
After labeling a new microtube with a marker, the culture tubes were removed from the incubator and
observed under the ultraviolet lamp. Using a sterile pipette, the contents of the (+) culture tube were
transferred to the 2 milliliter mictrotube and the ( ) culture tube was disposed of. The (+) tube was
then spun in the centrifuge at maximum speed for 5 minutes. Once it was removed from the
centrifuge, a noticeable bacterial pellet had formed at the bottom of the tube and the remaining liquid
was disposed of. After the

The Main Figures Of William Jennings Bryan And John Scopes
The Scopes Trial was a very controversial trial that put religious beliefs against scientific beliefs. The
main figures were William Jennings Bryan and John Scopes. Bryan was a Presbyterian, he was born in
Illinois and later became a Nebraska congressman in 1890. John Scopes was arrested for teaching the
evolution in school. The Scopes Trial had a major impact on America in 1925, making it illegal to
teach about the evolution of life in school.
Before William Bryan became a congressman, he practiced law in Jacksonville in 1883 1887 before
moving to Lincoln, Nebraska, where he was elected to the U.S. Congress in 1890. Bryan was a
presidential candidate three times and leader for the prosecution. Defeated for the U.S. Senate in 1894,
he spent the next two years as editor of the Omaha World Herald and as a popular public lecturer
(William Jennings Bryan). At a Democratic convention in Chicago on July 8, his famous speech Cross
of Gold won him the nomination at the age of 36. During the Spanish American war, Bryan served as
a colonel in a Nebraska regiment. During the campaign, Bryan became the first candidate to seek
voter support. In recognition of his role in securing the Democratic nomination for Woodrow Wilson
in 1912, Bryan was appointed secretary of state the following year.

Why I Want To Understand The Brain By Anne Sexton
Sexton s poem allowed me to understand what it must feel like to live with a mental illness such as
depression. I was quite frightened to find that Sexton constantly wanted to kill herself. Her
confessional style of poetry allowed me to understand that this type of mental illness is a reality for
people. The way in which Anne Sexton describes her desire for death, allowed me to understand the
power depression held on her mind and body. The need to end her life must have meant that dying
outweighed any need to live. Anne Sexton had two children and I am shocked she would abandon
these two children for an escape from the world. I realised Sexton s drive to kill herself was greater
than the love for her own family. Even though it was selfish of

Magnetic Resonance Imaging
The introduction of Magnetic Resonance Imaging in the field of cognitive neuroscience had a
profound impact on the ability of researchers to localize and record cognitive activity in the human
brain. Created by a group led by Ramon Damadian in 1976, this cranial imaging technology finally
bridged the gap between the cognitive outputs of behavior and the inner regions of the brain with
profound accuracy (Clark, 2007). Surprisingly, the implications for MRI scans are perhaps most
significant in the field of lie detection. As stated by Melissa Littlefield in one of her publications on
the subject, MRI technology represents a quantum leap for deception researchers (Littlefield, 2011).
This is primarily due to the fact that governments, law enforcement, ... Show more content on

The study was one of the first to specifically address the limitations of polygraphs in measuring
cognition, as deception is largely a goal orienting process mediated by cortical regions connected to
the CNS. The goal of the study was to localize active regions during truth and lie generation and
determine if an accurate deception fMRI model could be established from the results. To perform the
truth and lie comparisons, the experimenters administered the Guilty Knowledge Task to a group of 26
college students during fMRI scanning sessions. Participants were given a set of cards and instructed
to lie about a random card during the testing period. Langleben et al. used four different truth and lie
conditions using cognitive subtraction to determine changes in activation patterns. The results from
the study were clear. The researchers confirmed their hypotheses that the regions of interest for
deception included the inferior lateral prefrontal and medial superior frontal regions. These areas
contain intercortical networks responsible for attention, working memory, and response inhibition.
Specifically, the prefrontal cortex was determined to be significantly predictive in discerning lies from
truths. Langleben et al. suggested that the intensive load placed on working memory during lie
emphasized trials indicated that truth generation occurred more anteriorly

Impact Of Big Data Technology On The Field Of Accounting...
Abstract: Balanced Scorecard (BSC) is considered as an important system to measure the
performance, however, it suffers from some difficulties, particularly in the implementation phase,
which may reduce its benefits. This paper aims to review the literature to have evidence about BSC
model implementation challenges also review literature related to Big Data technology applications in
the field of accounting and management so I conclude that Big Data technology can strongly
contribute to the BSC model improvement thus I discuss the influence of big data analytics as a
proposed solution to improve and develop BSC model, and then investigate BSC model in a big data
environment.
1. Introduction The increase of performance measurement systems (like Balanced Scorecard (BSC))
complexity has led to an increase in the amount of data (created by smart devices, RFID technologies,
sensors, social media, video surveillance and more) to be acquired, processed, and analyzed to provide
meaningful information to support decision making in companies. Moreover, organizations, and
customers have also been increasingly producing large amounts of structured and unstructured data
that should have veracity to create value. Big data analytics methods and techniques (which is the
application of predictive methods, pattern recognition techniques, cluster analysis, and other
quantitative and qualitative methods in big data sets) can

We need to use what we have and use it to strengthen and help others not weaken and knock down our

would be wise to limit it to close friends and family as protection from this harsh society. Perhaps,
sticking to old fashioned phone calls, letter writing and going to visit that individual that you want to

The Issue Of Abortion And Abortion
Abortion is one of the most debatable and controversial issues that exists in our society. An abortion is
a medical procedure that terminates a pregnancy before 24 weeks. People who call themselves Pro
Life feel that it is the government s responsibility to preserve all life, regardless of concerns for the
pregnant woman s health, or for the quality of the life of the child. The Pro Choice argument feels that
a woman should have the choice when it comes to what they wish to do with their own reproductive
organs.
There s many arguments regarding abortions. One of many is that adoption is a viable alternative to
abortion. This statement implies that the only reason a woman would want to get an abortion is to
avoid raising a child, and that isn t the case. Depending on the circumstances, the mere act of having a
child in a hospital can cost between $3,000 and $37,000 in the United States. Giving birth is
dangerous, too: In the United States, pregnancy complications are the sixth most common cause of
death for women between the ages of 20 and 34.
Another misconception often thought about abortions is If a woman has sex, she has to pay the
consequences. Too many women have abortions for their own convenience or on impulse. Pro Life
activists leave no room for the grey area, which is unfair. Did you know over 2 thirds of women who
have abortions were on birth control or using protection. And what about the women who are abstinent
but were raped or victim to incest. I believe

Les Miserables Tone
Everyone has struggles in life, some might even say that life is wretched . In the book Les Miserables
by Victor Hugo, published in 1961, numerous peoples struggles are highlighted and followed. Jean
Valjean, our main character connects a group of people s hardships living in 19th century France. The
theme of Les Miserables is that throughout the toil of life you ll still have love. People will push
themselves through endless torment for those that they love. The tone of the story contributes to the
theme by creating a sense of sadness in the times of torment in the book yet also creating the feeling

minor differences that will impact the rest of the book and the next movies. In the book, once Thorin

In the start of the second movie, (The Desolation of Smaug) compared to the seventh chapter of the

Peter Jackson added a scene where Gandalf and Thorin were talking in a bar about the journey they
would venture together. That scene was not in the book. How the company met Beorn, (a shape

How Art Can Be Considered Many Things
Art can be considered many things. It can be considered a sculpture, a painting, a song, a movie, but it
could also be considered a carefully thought out plan.
Art lives through time, and among the criteria of what constitutes the best in Art is that it refuses to be
forgotten. Da Vinci s Mona Lisa , Van Gogh s Starry Night , or even Campbell s Soup Cans by Warhol
have not, as of yet, been forgotten. Much like memorials, which are made with the intention of living
through time by depicting a singular, particular moment of history. Art aims to be remembered, not
forgotten. But memorials, unlike art, tend to commemorate horrific events, tragedies, and losses
almost exclusively. Consider the USS Arizona Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, ... Show more

Flesh and all. He goes on to talk about how writers, after the 9/11 attack occurred, did not know what
to write about. But, he writes, that novelist Don DeLillo considered the acts of violence as something
grander and greater than the mere novel (Appleyard 1). Appleyard also includes a quote from artist
Damien Hirst, who had gotten into trouble for saying something similar . Hirst had said, [t]he thing
about 9/11 is that it s kind of an artwork in its own right. It was wicked, but it was devised in this way
for this kind of impact. It was devised visually... You ve got to hand it to them [the terrorists] on some
level, because they ve achieved something which nobody would have ever thought possible...
(Appleyard 1). Superficially at least, Hirst s claim here praises the terrorists, not particularly for what
they did but how they did it. Their plan, Hirst is saying, was like a work of art. Like many depictions

film they were building the twin towers when Phillippe came up with his plan to walk in between

Tb Is A Treatable And Curable Disease Essay
Although the epidemiology is concerning, TB is a treatable and curable disease. The WHO has
detailed guidelines for the treatment of TB, which specifies that successful TB treatment requires
accurate early diagnosis, drug resistance screening, HIV screening, correct drug selection and long
term compliance. (1) The current first line treatment for drug sensitive TB includes an intensive phase
of 2 months and a continuation phase of 4 to 7 months. The drugs used in the initiation phase include
rifampicin (RIF), isoniazid (INH), pyrazinamide (PYR) and ethambutol (EMB), with RIF and INH
being continued until MTB is eradicated. (1) This four drug treatment regimen for drug sensitive TB
disease has been in widespread use for over 20 years, and has achieved cure rates of more than 95% in
trial conditions. (5) However, this regimen also has unwanted aspects, which include the lengthy
duration of the treatment, the side effects the drugs and, more concerning, the development of drug
resistance, have significantly limited its use. (12)
Furthermore, management of MDR TB poses a bigger challenge, since resistance to isoniazid and
rifampicin precludes the use of two key drugs in the anti TB regimen. The treatment of MDR TB
usually involves a combination of drugs chosen from first line and second line anti TB agents. (13) A
lot of medications used in the treatment of MDR TB are classified as second line because of a high
risk of intolerance, reduced potency and a worse side effect

HYPER THREADING TECHNOLOGY
1. INTRODUCTION
This report describes the Hyper Threading Technology architecture, and discusses the
microarchitecture details of Intel s first implementation on the Intel Xeon processor family. For that
reason, firstly, general processor microarchitecture and thread level parallelism will be explained.
After that, hyper threading technology architecture will be discussed in a detailed manner. Then, first
implementation examples will be given. Also, some important components will be presented required
for a hyper threaded processor. After all, performace results of this new technology will conclude the
report.

Multiprocessor systems have been used for many years, and high end programmers are familiar with
the techniques to exploit multiprocessors for higher performance levels.
In recent years a number of other techniques to further exploit TLP have been discussed and some
products have been announced. One of these techniques is chip multiprocessing (CMP), where two
processors are put on a single die. The two processors each have a full set of execution and
architectural resources. The processors may or may not share a large on chip cache. CMP is largely
orthogonal to conventional multiprocessor systems, as you can have multiple CMP processors in a
multiprocessor configuration. Recently announced processors incorporate two processors on each die.
However, a CMP chip is significantly larger than the size of a single core chip and therefore more
expensive to manufacture; moreover, it does not begin to address the die size and power
considerations.
Another approach is to allow a single processor to execute multiple threads by switching between
them. Time slice multithreading is where the processor switches between software threads after a fixed
time period. Time slice multithreading can result in wasted execution slots but can effectively
minimize the effects of long latencies to

Goodfellas Movie Essay
Goodfellas is one of the most significant crime movies. As such, this picture addresses the motives
and rationale behind wrongful activities perpetrated by gangsters in a convincing manner. It also
examines practical implications of their moral choices. The movie traces the life of an aspiring
gangster, Henry. At the beginning, he is an ambitious adolescent willing to work for the local mafia.
He succeeds, gradually rises through the ranks, and wins respect from the boss, Paul Cicero. This
protagonist also makes friends with his colleagues James (Henry s personal role model) and Tommy

Arguably the most shocking show of power and the lack of the restrictions he faced in the original
documentary was when Theroux discovers that Savile has his personal details including home address
Savile simply states, There is nothing I can t do and nothing I can t get . Another showcase of this
level of power is within the report of another victim who was in hospital for burnt hands. Savile climb
in her window and whilst assaulting her, made comments about her past teen pregnancy, showing that
he had seen her medical records and knew her room number. The lack of restrictions or his way

Should A College Education Be Free
We have all been in a group project with an unmotivated person, which causes us to work harder to
pick up their slack. No matter how much instruction and guidance we give them, they still will not
complete the task. This would be very similar to providing a chance at a free college education, in
which that chance at free education would be wasted by those who wouldn t follow through. College
education shouldn t be free to everyone because it would raise taxes that would burden the working
class, and would be taken advantage of by the lethargic people in our society.
In the first place, noting in this world is truly free. As stated in a national newspaper, New York Times,

He says, First, free college isn t free, it simply shifts costs from students to taxpayers (1). When
students are no longer paying for their own education they lose the true value of a college education.
Additionally, if students are not paying for their college education, they surrender some of their
motivation to complete school in four years. Therefore causing them to staying in school longer,
which will cost taxpayers more money.
Looking at it another way, everyone in our society should be able to chase their dreams of going to
college, and the more educated our society is the better our economy should become. In a campaign
for free college, Wyatt Larkin states his opinion on why college education should be free. Larkin
states, Post secondary education ought to be completely free for the exact same reason that elementary
and secondary education have long been free because a functioning democracy demands an informed
citizenry and because a highly competitive world economy requires that we make the best possible use
of our brainpower, our most important natural resource ( Why College Should be Tuition Free 1). I

apparatus, machine, or system to consistently perform its intended or required function , on demand
and without degradation or failure. This paper proposes to increase the reliability of RAID level 5
arrays used for storing archival data. Here, group of two or three identical RAID arrays are considered
at the initial stage. Next, a shared parity disk is added to each group containing diagonal parities of
their arrays. Now, the new organization can tolerate all double disk failures and between 75 and 89
percent of triple disk failures without incurring any data loss. Two techniques can be used for
increasing reliability such as Even Odd scheme and Row Diagonal Parity (RDP) scheme. This paper
gives a study on Even Odd scheme and Row Diagonal Parity (RDP) scheme for increasing reliability
and also proposes a new sparing technique, double parity sparing. Hence forth the proposed scheme
provides better reliability as compared to the existing.

Descriptive Essay About Summer Break
Our First Dinner
This morning, my cousins arrived at my house. Since then, the place has been bustling with noise, and
there has been a lot of shoving and roughhousing. Currently, we are getting ready for dinner. Let me
backtrack. Yesterday, my aunt called our house to ask my mom if she and her kids could visit. For a
week. My mother agreed, albeit reluctantly. We then cleaned the house and stocked up on food. My
aunt and uncle have four kids, and my parents have three. So a lot of people in one house. To top it all
off, it s the first week of summer break. Like I said, at the moment the house is in chaos with everyone
carrying food, utensils, and chairs around the kitchen. We are getting ready for our first meal together.
We went out for lunch so we didn t have to worry about making food. Now we do. Since most of us
kids don t know how to cook, we got pushed into the basement. So we are playing games while we
wait for the adults to get done with the food. We fight, we shove, and we punch. My family is really
rough, so when we get together, you can almost guarantee that there will be fighting. After what feels
like hours, we hear my mom yell, Kids, the food s ready! We all immediately stampede up the stairs,
trying to beat each other to the kitchen. Once we get there, we all fight over seats before we finally get
settled. My uncle says Grace and we all dig in.
So, how has everyone s summer been so far? my aunt questions. We reply with mumbles of Good and
Boring .

Denise Levertov and Anne Sexton both use different themes in their poetry that separate them from

Survival is the act of staying alive. People survive through many different circumstances and
situations, difficult or not. The situations of Anne Frank and Krystyna Chiger were especially difficult.
Both Anne s and Krystyna s situations, which were similar and different, were difficult to survive
through. Firstly, Anne Frank had a difficult time surviving through certain circumstances. Anne Frank
s family and another family, the Van Daans, hid together in a tiny attic because they were in severe
danger just because they were Jewish. There were eight people cramped together, and the situation
was not very pleasant. To survive, Anne Frank had to dream and pretend she was safe and free as well
as working out her emotions by writing in a diary. Another person hiding with Anne, Mrs. Van Daan,
survived a different way. She instead voiced her concerns by arguing, complaining, and critiquing

Krystyna and Anne hid for their safety. They both had hard times surviving and they were both scared.
Anne and Krystyna both imagined being free so they could bear the reality of their situation. They
both had parents and siblings to help them stay alive. However, Anne and Krystyna s stories are both

The Main Reasons For Government And Privatize Their Airports
Week 1: Identify and discuss the main reasons for a government to privatize their airports.
In basic terms Privatisation is essentially the shift of assets from the public or government owned
sector to the private sector, an important point to note is that privatisation doesn t always refer to
ownership, but can also refer only to the management of an organisation.
The advantages of privatisation include greater efficiency and fewer limitations involved in
government spending allowances. Up until the 1990 s privatisation of airports was mainly within the
general aviation, municipal type airfields. Airports were gradually considered as commercial
enterprises , and as such commercialisation began to take place.
Supporters of privatisation argue that it will reduce the need for public investment and give greater
access to commercial markets. By doing this they are limiting government control, which may be a
benefit in itself as there will be more space for diversification. With a wide share of ownership there
can be far greater input from a range of sources. In a sense the government will still benefit from
privatisation, as even though they may have less control overall, they will still benefit from the global
market and from government associated taxes and levies not just on the airports movements but also
taxing of the airport company itself. Conversely on the side of doubt, there is concern that
privatisation may create a monopoly that could potentially be over

Australian Citizenship Act 14 Essay
The Australian Citizenship Legislation Amendment, Strengthening the Requirements for Australian
Citizenship and Other Measures Bill 2017, introduced by Mr Peter Dutton, minister for Immigration
and Border Protection proposed to reform the requirements of citizenship. The bill incorporates a
number of integrity measures to ensure migrants are capable of upholding Australian values and
subsequently, prepared to be full, active members in Australian society. To maintain social cohesion
and facilitate social progression, the bill suggests stricter application requirements, fundamental to
determine whether an individual acquires Australian values measured through new imposed testing.
Currently, Australia is a combination of diverse cultures, religions and consequently, it is considerably
difficult to define the values of Australian citizens as a whole. Therefore, the underlying motives of
the Australian Citizenship Bill 2017 are highly controversial.
The Nationality and Citizenship Act 1948, initially recognised citizenship as formal members of the
community, involving reciprocal rights and obligations which united all, whilst respecting individual s
diversity. This act was amended frequently due to the progression of society and inherent multicultural
values promoted by the People of Australia Policy. It was repealed by the Australian Citizenship Act

rest of the information on the floor. At the very back of the room rested a model of how people were
executed in the camps. It first showed dozens of tiny figures lined up, waiting for their deaths. Farther
down, figures were in a room stripping their clothes. The final part of the model was devastating. It
showed the figurines all clumped together, suffocating, dying. Even though each one couldn t have
been larger than my thumb, I could see the pain of 11 million reflected on those figures faces. The
detail was astounding. They were all silently wailing, their mouths open wide as if they were letting
out ear splitting screams. My heart broke. The first floor was better. It taught about the war heroes and
the steps we can take to prevent genocide. On this floor, I reflected, and I came to this conclusion: I

as inspiration. He started with a task switcher in Intel 80386 assembly and a terminal driver. After that,
he put out a call for others to contribute code, which they did. Currently, only about 2 percent of the

Cuiousity and a Sense of Adventure Drove the Atomic Age
The Atomic Age was driven by curiosity and a sense of adventure. As some of the most well thinkers
of the day continued with passion about physics, their self confident in peeling the layers of the
proverbial scientific onion led to severe unintended consequences that dramatically impacted the lives
of billions of people. Moreover, complacency fuelled by arrogance resulted in the betrayal of
compassion and principled action, ultimately leading to the sacrifice of millions to pay the debt of a
few. Atomic energy re invigorated technological and scientific purpose of the early 20th century.
Augmenting knowledge through scientific inquiry motivated researchers and academics to collaborate
in labs and conferences in developing an emerging field. As discoveries dotted the path to scientific
self indulgence, the purported results of the research which was often purely coincidental, was
promoted as yielding untold benefits to society. Medicine would be radically transformed and the
scarcity of energy to fuel engines of economic growth would be a thing of the past (De Groot, Steg
Poortinga, 2013). The marvels of the atomic age, it seemed, would become the Holy Grail that would
breathe renewed life to human progress. Despite leaps in theoretical knowledge, the development of
the Atomic Age also transitioned into a more nefarious pre occupation for some. As successive wars
raged across the Atlantic and consumed much of Europe, the development of a weapon became a
central focus

Candy and sugary soft drinks sold in schools can be less money spent for parents. It reduces not
having money for parents. In addition, it reduces arguments from happening between kids and parents
because the kid will get mad if the parent says no they can not have any candy or soft drink. Then, the
parent will get mad at the kid because he/she wants the candy. However, It prevents the parent from
doing something important with their money. Also It will keep the parent from spending all their
money instead of letting the kid pay out of their pocket.
I also say no because at sometimes kids need nutrition in their body. They need nutrition because a lot
of candy and sugary soft drinks can harm their body in many different ways. In addition, high blood
pressure goes up from eating too much candy and drinking too much soft drinks. It could also cause

Golden Age Of Piracy Essay
Imagine sailing the seven seas looking for ships to plunder and cities to barricade. This was the life of
many sailors back during the Golden Age of piracy. Although many sailors lived their life as pirates,
some were actually privateers and were mistaken for pirates. Privateers were like pirates, but instead
of raiding for personal gain they did it for the sake of their country. They did not perform gruesome
executions and did not always stay at sea like other pirates. Pirates on the other hand were usually ex
privateers that realized there was more money in pirating. Pirates during the Golden Age of Piracy
often lived a very wealthy lifestyle due to all of the loot they stole off of ships. Most pirates during
this era stayed around what is now called ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Almost all pirate crews followed a universal code known as the pirate s code. This code was used like
the Ten Commandments but for pirates. The pirate s code decided what happened to traitors and
thieves along with what happened to men that brought women aboard the ship. The pirate s code
although universal differed from crew to crew. Before a pirate ship left port all pirates collaborated
and signed a document called the articles of agreement, also known as the pirates code (Johnson). This
ensured anything that happened at sea would be followed by the code. Whether the culprit be the
captain or a lowly deck cleaner, the code made sure peace was kept upon the ship. Piracy always had
to have laws since most people on the ship were criminals. In the end, pirates served a critical role in
the development of America. Without them Britain might have won the war of 1812 and taken over in
America. Whether it is roaming the seven seas or barricading town, pirates lived adventurous lives
that people can only dream about living today. As Hamill Chris quotes Blackbeard in his Book of
Pirates, Life s pretty good, and why wouldn t it be? I m a pirate after

The Five Parts
This note summarises the key features of Henri Mintzbergs theory on the structuring of organisations,
which he presented in his book The Structuring of Organisations and Structure in 5 s: Designing
Effective Organizations in the early 1980s.
According to Mintzberg organisations are formed of five main parts:
Operating core
Those who perform the basic work related directly to the production of products and services
Strategic apex

Machine bureaucracy type structures are performance organizations not problem solving ones.
Professional Bureaucracy
The professional bureaucracy relies for coordination on: * the standardization of skills and its
associated parameters such as design, training and indoctrination. * In professional bureaucracy type
structures duly trained and indoctrinated specialists professionals are hired for the operating core, and
then considerable control over their work is given to them. * Most of the necessary coordination
between the operating professionals is handled by the standardization of skills and knowledge
especially by what they have learned to expect from their colleagues.
Whereas the machine bureaucracy generates its own standards the standards of the professional
bureaucracy originate largely outside its own structure (especially in the self governing association its
operators join with their colleagues from other professional bureaucracies). The professional
bureaucracy emphasizes authority of a professional nature or in other words the power of expertise .
The strategies of the professional bureaucracy are mainly developed by the individual professionals
within the organization as well as of the

Genocide In Tasmania By Henry Reynolds Summary
In the Genocide in Tasmania by Henry Reynolds he briefly outlined the masses of killings of
Aborigines in Tasmania in the 1800s. There weren t any records of this genocide occurring being
stated in Australian history, however, Reynolds has evidence of this genocide occurring from several
renowned biologists and historians and many written evidence of the administration of Governor
George Arthur who was appointed to look over the British Settlers and Aborigines living in Tasmania.
Tasmania, was an isolated state of the Australian Continent and was stated by Reynold as a ...ideal

Islamic Legal Reformers Of The Twentieth Century
I. Introduction As Talal Asad has noted, religion is by no means disappearing in the modern world,
and, [i]f anything is agreed upon, it is that a straightforward narrative of progress from the religious to
the secular is no longer acceptable. (Asad: 2003: 1.) At the same time, and in relation particularly to
the contemporary rise of Islam, [t]he question of secularism has emerged as an object of academic
argument and of practical dispute. (Ibid.) The common view is that Islam and secular modernism
constitute a duality, forever at odds, while others argue that the religious and the secular are a false
duality and are indeed mutually constitutive of each other. (Agrama: 2). Viewed either way, the
resurgence of Islam gives rise to important questions regarding its relationship to the secular modern
state. In this short paper, I propose to engage with the works of two Islamic legal reformers of the
twentieth century: Mohammed Abduh s classic Theology of Unity , first published in 1897, and
Ahmad Safwat s lesser known article, The Theory of Mohammedan Law, published in a British law
journal in 1920. Though quite different, both works are emblematic of this period in Islamic history
when traditional Islamic law struggled to identify its proper role with respect to the increasing power
and transcendence of the modern secular state. Moreover, each work is representative of two views of
Islam and secular modernism and represent the genesis of both

The Atlanta Museum Of Art On November 7, 1883, an exhibition organized by May Wright Sewell, her husband Theodore, and a small group of art minded citizens (History, 2017) began what would one day become the establishment now known as the Indianapolis Museum of Art. Since that first exhibition, the IMA has gone through several identity changes. They were first named, the Art Association of Indianapolis. Their next identity was as the John Herron Art Institute, which opened a whole new chapter, as they became a campus featuring both a museum and an art school. • 7. My Experience At My Bedroom s Door When a frantic knock came to my bedroom s door, I was standing in front of a three sided mirror looking at myself. I had purchased a floral print bikini the same day I had my conversation with Howard s cousin Myra and lucky that I had. It had taken me nearly three days looking at myself in it for my face to no longer redden. Even with the floral wrap giving the illusion that my lower half was covered still left very little to the imagination as to what was under it. I had even returned to the boutique to look over less revealing swimwear, but this was what Myra had suggested. My mind was changed when the least expected event occurred. I had overheard a few women angry whispers about someone like me who can eat all they want and look like they are preparing to walk down some fashion runway in Malan. Skinny girls like me were always the ones the guys truly want and if I had what they called boobs, then I would have men walking into walls. After looking up what boobs actually meant, I now understood what Myra was saying and put back on my floral print bikini. I still wasn t going to get breast implants, but at least I was no longer self conscious about being called Long Legged Hendrix behind my back when I was in boarding school. When a business is run as a single proprietor means that the owner is solely responsible and liable for the actions of the company. The risk and the liability are that the personal assets such as house, car, land, or bank savings are also part of the business. There is no legal separation of the assets between the business and the owner of the business. For example, if the single proprietor defaults on a bank loan or there is an accident on one of the employees, the owner is the sole responsible. Reforming Inequality Research Paper Reforming Inequality Despite dipping below ten percent between the late 1960 s and early 1970 s, the income gap in the United States has climbed steadily over the last fifty years. From its low point in 1973, the wealthiest Americans income share now exceeds even that which they held in 1928, on the eve of the Great Depression. Experts have pointed to several potential culprits, including the underrepresentation of lower and middle class citizens in legislatures, the shrinking power of organized labor, the expanding power of organized business, and a tax system that seems to disproportionately favor those at the top at the expense of those on the bottom. These factors vary greatly in level of impact and the feasibility of potential solutions, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... No matter how effective a plan may be at the former, if it cannot succeed at the latter it will never be implemented. Convincing enough voters to support the tax plan will be extremely difficult, due to both the high levels of ideological opposition to taxes and the resources and organizational strength of the measure s primary opponents. Per an April 2016 Gallup poll, 61% of Americans believe that the wealthy pay too little in taxes (Gallup), so Americans at least agree in principle that taxes should be increased for the wealthy. Additionally, by emphasizing elements of the measure that could appeal to conservative voters, such as keeping money from leaving the economy, candidates could generate crossover appeal to both conservative and liberal parts of the electorate. The chief difficulty, ultimately, will be overcoming the formidable organizations those with a vested interest in keeping taxes low can bring to bear. Just as they did in the 1970 s, business and financial leaders will marshal their extensive capacity to launch multi faceted campaigns (Hacker 125), exerting pressure on incumbent candidates to distance themselves from the new tax policy and organizing opposition via advertising, political action committees, and donations. A plasmid is a genetic structure in a cell that can replicate independently of chromosomes. In this lab, the Green Fluorescent Protein, which is typically found in the bioluminescent jellyfish Aequorea Victoria, was cloned, purified, and moved from one organism to another with the use of pGlo plasmids. The way in which Anne Sexton describes her desire for death, allowed me to understand the power depression held on her mind and body. The need to end her life must have meant that dying outweighed any need to live. Anne Sexton had two children and I am shocked she would abandon these two children for an escape from the world. Created by a group led by Ramon Damadian in 1976, this cranial imaging technology finally bridged the gap between the cognitive outputs of behavior and the inner regions of the brain with profound accuracy (Clark, 2007). Surprisingly, the implications for MRI scans are perhaps most significant in the field of lie detection. To perform the truth and lie comparisons, the experimenters administered the Guilty Knowledge Task to a group of 26 college students during fMRI scanning sessions. Participants were given a set of cards and instructed to lie about a random card during the testing period. Langleben et al. used four different truth and lie conditions using cognitive subtraction to determine changes in activation patterns. The results from the study were clear. The researchers confirmed their hypotheses that the regions of interest for deception included the inferior lateral prefrontal and medial superior frontal regions. These areas contain intercortical networks responsible for attention, working memory, and response inhibition. Specifically, the prefrontal cortex was determined to be significantly predictive in discerning lies from truths. • 19. The Issue Of Abortion And Abortion Abortion is one of the most debatable and controversial issues that exists in our society. An abortion is a medical procedure that terminates a pregnancy before 24 weeks. People who call themselves Pro Life feel that it is the government s responsibility to preserve all life, regardless of concerns for the pregnant woman s health, or for the quality of the life of the child. The Pro Choice argument feels that a woman should have the choice when it comes to what they wish to do with their own reproductive organs. There s many arguments regarding abortions. One of many is that adoption is a viable alternative to abortion. This statement implies that the only reason a woman would want to get an abortion is to avoid raising a child, and that isn t the case. Depending on the circumstances, the mere act of having a child in a hospital can cost between $3,000 and $37,000 in the United States. Giving birth is dangerous, too: In the United States, pregnancy complications are the sixth most common cause of death for women between the ages of 20 and 34. Another misconception often thought about abortions is If a woman has sex, she has to pay the consequences. Too many women have abortions for their own convenience or on impulse. It can be considered a sculpture, a painting, a song, a movie, but it could also be considered a carefully thought out plan. Art lives through time, and among the criteria of what constitutes the best in Art is that it refuses to be forgotten. Da Vinci s Mona Lisa , Van Gogh s Starry Night , or even Campbell s Soup Cans by Warhol have not, as of yet, been forgotten. Much like memorials, which are made with the intention of living through time by depicting a singular, particular moment of history. Art aims to be remembered, not forgotten. But, he writes, that novelist Don DeLillo considered the acts of violence as something grander and greater than the mere novel (Appleyard 1). Appleyard also includes a quote from artist Damien Hirst, who had gotten into trouble for saying something similar . Hirst had said, [t]he thing about 9/11 is that it s kind of an artwork in its own right. It was wicked, but it was devised in this way for this kind of impact. It was devised visually... • 23. Tb Is A Treatable And Curable Disease Essay Although the epidemiology is concerning, TB is a treatable and curable disease. The WHO has detailed guidelines for the treatment of TB, which specifies that successful TB treatment requires accurate early diagnosis, drug resistance screening, HIV screening, correct drug selection and long term compliance. (1) The current first line treatment for drug sensitive TB includes an intensive phase of 2 months and a continuation phase of 4 to 7 months. The drugs used in the initiation phase include rifampicin (RIF), isoniazid (INH), pyrazinamide (PYR) and ethambutol (EMB), with RIF and INH being continued until MTB is eradicated. (1) This four drug treatment regimen for drug sensitive TB disease has been in widespread use for over 20 years, and has achieved cure rates of more than 95% in trial conditions. (5) However, this regimen also has unwanted aspects, which include the lengthy duration of the treatment, the side effects the drugs and, more concerning, the development of drug resistance, have significantly limited its use. (12) Furthermore, management of MDR TB poses a bigger challenge, since resistance to isoniazid and rifampicin precludes the use of two key drugs in the anti TB regimen. The treatment of MDR TB usually involves a combination of drugs chosen from first line and second line anti TB agents. (13) A lot of medications used in the treatment of MDR TB are classified as second line because of a high risk of intolerance, reduced potency and a worse side effect ... Multiprocessor systems have been used for many years, and high end programmers are familiar with the techniques to exploit multiprocessors for higher performance levels. In recent years a number of other techniques to further exploit TLP have been discussed and some products have been announced. One of these techniques is chip multiprocessing (CMP), where two processors are put on a single die. The two processors each have a full set of execution and architectural resources. The processors may or may not share a large on chip cache. CMP is largely orthogonal to conventional multiprocessor systems, as you can have multiple CMP processors in a multiprocessor configuration. Recently announced processors incorporate two processors on each die. However, a CMP chip is significantly larger than the size of a single core chip and therefore more expensive to manufacture; moreover, it does not begin to address the die size and power considerations. Another approach is to allow a single processor to execute multiple threads by switching between them. Time slice multithreading is where the processor switches between software threads after a fixed time period. Time slice multithreading can result in wasted execution slots but can effectively minimize the effects of long latencies to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 39. The Main Reasons For Government And Privatize Their Airports Week 1: Identify and discuss the main reasons for a government to privatize their airports. In basic terms Privatisation is essentially the shift of assets from the public or government owned sector to the private sector, an important point to note is that privatisation doesn t always refer to ownership, but can also refer only to the management of an organisation. The advantages of privatisation include greater efficiency and fewer limitations involved in government spending allowances. Up until the 1990 s privatisation of airports was mainly within the general aviation, municipal type airfields. Airports were gradually considered as commercial enterprises , and as such commercialisation began to take place. Supporters of privatisation argue that it will reduce the need for public investment and give greater access to commercial markets. By doing this they are limiting government control, which may be a benefit in itself as there will be more space for diversification. With a wide share of ownership there can be far greater input from a range of sources. In a sense the government will still benefit from privatisation, as even though they may have less control overall, they will still benefit from the global market and from government associated taxes and levies not just on the airports movements but also taxing of the airport company itself. Introduction As Talal Asad has noted, religion is by no means disappearing in the modern world, and, [i]f anything is agreed upon, it is that a straightforward narrative of progress from the religious to the secular is no longer acceptable. (Asad: 2003: 1.) At the same time, and in relation particularly to the contemporary rise of Islam, [t]he question of secularism has emerged as an object of academic argument and of practical dispute. Moreover, each work is representative of two views of Islam and secular modernism and represent the genesis of both ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
