Summary Of The Night Odyssey
Lost It was the summer of 1998; I was pregnant with my second child, when my two year old son, my
husband, my brother Vladimir, his girlfriend Nicole, two other couples and I went on vacation to
Brittany, France. Usually, I spent the summer in Serbia with my two grandmas and the rest of the
family. But this year, we decided to go another time to visit them. I never thought this would be one of
my most regretted decisions I have ever made. I cannot remember the name of the place where we
stayed for two weeks. The only thing I do remember is our night odyssey in Paris, how we weren t
able to find the way out through the maze tunnels to the highway which was supposed to lead us to the
no name village in Brittany. Eventually, around midday, we arrived at our house. As we were the only
ones with a child, the rest of the group treated my son like an alien whose task was to turn the nightly
rest upside down, so the banned us to the only bedroom in the first floor. In hindsight, it was the best
room of the whole house, due to the heat which emanated at night heavily from the attic rooms and
made breathing difficult. The area was beautiful, green hills everywhere; the few houses looked like
they were put into the lush meadows by a creative behemoth. Although you could not see the ocean,
the constant blowing wind carried the salty, fishy smell to your house. The fleecy clouds alternated
with the sunshine I a two day cycle. So we went sightseeing on the cloudy days, on the other, to

Neanderthal Traits
The evidence that supports that Neanderthals inter bred with Homo sapiens is that of a skeleton that
was found of a young modern child. The skeleton was determined to be that of an early modern
human child, but the skeleton had Neanderthal characteristics as well as modern human
characteristics. It was determined that if this child had Neanderthal traits then Neanderthals were part
of his ancestry. That would mean that Neanderthals inter bred with Homo sapiens. Beyond that there
has been DNA testing of bone fragments that suggest that even though Neanderthals were different
from Homo sapiens they weren t so different that they could not breed with each other. Anatomically
modern humans and Neanderthals were the same.

Different Types Of Naturally Occurring Fracture Networks
2.1 INTRODUCTION
It has been long recognized that the presence of naturally occurring fracture network can lead to
unpredictable heterogeneity and anisotropy within many reservoirs. In past geophysicists acquired and
processed P wave reflection data at short offset, which automatically implied relatively small angular
ray coverage. So seismic anisotropy, which is defined as directional dependence of elastic properties
of earth remains unnoticed. But with the advance of methodologies, acquiring long offset and multi
component data become feasible and cost effective, anisotropy showed up. On a smaller scale, stresses
in the Earth can cause rock to fracture in a consistent manner. If these fractures are aligned, the rock
will be anisotropic with the fast direction parallel to the fractures and the slow direction perpendicular
to them. In ideal cases, these observations can provide information on the state of stress in the Earth.
Different types of anisotropy have resulted depending on the direction of fracture orientation. A set of
parallel vertical cracks embedded in an isotropic background gives rise a transverse isotropic medium
with horizontal symmetry axis. Similarly in sedimentary basins orthorhombic symmetry is commonly
caused by parallel vertical fractures embedded within a VTI background medium. It may also arise
due to two or three mutually orthogonal fracture sets, or due to two identical fracture systems criss
crossing with an arbitrary angle. Such sets of fractures

Descriptive Essay About Dubai
I will talk about Dubai . I lived in Dubai for 5 years and I felt life in Dubai and Tokyo is totally
different. Therefore, I d like to introduce you about how did I spent 5 years in Dubai. I will discuss
main difference between Japan and Dubai, but I m not going to tell you general differences such as
language, currency, etc. I also want you to know famous sightseeing spot. I asked some of my friends
to find out what they know about Dubai and I found that most of my friend heard the name of Dubai,
but they don t know anything about it. Some of my friends know about Dubai such as it is Arabic
country, economic had growth by coal oil, etc. but most of my friend don t know where is Dubai and
few of them thought that Dubai is name of the country. But this is false, in fact, Dubai is not name of

First, Dubai is the name of city of UAE and it is one of Arabic country. Second, the climate of Dubai
is totally different from Japan. Third, Dubai is crazy about being a number one in the world. These
three are my main idea for this essay. When I lived in Dubai, I have been to 5 star hotel, the world
highest tower, and the world biggest shopping mall. All of them were awesome, so I recommend to
you to go there. However, summer in Dubai is terribly hot and sometimes it reaches to 50 degrees.
Therefore, I recommend you to go there in autumn season which is from December to February, but
autumn season is windy and Dubai has a huge desert, so if you want to see a great breathtaking view
of Dubai from the world highest tower, maybe it s not good idea to visit Dubai in autumn season. I

City of God Analysis
Kellene Berry Sociology 1 Kolstad 05/23/2012 City of God Application and Analysis The movie City
of God has many examples of sociological theories of crime and deviance. Some of the major theories
I noticed throughout the movie were the functionalist theory, including examples of relative
depravation, as well as the interactionist theory, including differential association and labeling. There
was also evidence of the conflict theory and the control theory throughout the film. The functionalist
theory states that hard work leads to rewards, and when these rewards are not sufficient, deviance
arises. Crime and deviance result from structural tensions and a lack of moral regulation within
society (Giddens). An example of this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Conflict theory says that crime and deviance is a result of economic inequalities. If the families in the
movie had money, they would have no desire to be deviant and commit robbery. One example of the
control theory in the movie was the fact at how easily the children were committing crimes. The
control theory says that crime results from an imbalance between impulses toward criminal activity
and social or physical controls that deter it (Giddens). It seemed that all of the children in the City of
God had guns, but not one of the people they robbed had a gun. This made it fairly easy for kids to rob
others who are unarmed. Also the kids were allowed to run around the city without any parental
supervision. Even the police had a hard time catching the youths after they committed crimes. These
factors allowed the children to be deviant with no reprimanding what so ever. In conclusion the movie
City of God was an excellent example of the many sociological theories discussed in class. The movie
demonstrated the functionalist theory, the interactionist theory, the conflict theory and even the control
theory. It provided a prime example of the work of many sociologists, such as Emil Durkheim, Robert
Merton, Edwin Sutherland, Edwin Lemert, Karl Marx and many others. Each of these sociological
theories was helpful in understanding the crime and deviance in the movie. Works Cited Giddens,

Disney Portrayal Of Women
Disney s Portrayal of Women and Simplification of Morals For most people, the first image that
comes to mind when the subject of Walt Disney s animated movies comes up is the studio s popular
princesses. Ever since Snow White made her debut in 1937, Disney has cornered the market on
princesses. One primary topic that critics have discussed in Disney s films is the way princesses are
portrayed. The roles of the female characters are especially drawing the interest of academic critics.
Jack Zipes, author of Breaking the Disney Spell, believes that the Disney princesses have regressed.
On the other hand, Libe Zarranz, author of Diswomen Strike Back? The Evolution of Disney s

the female characters, such as Snow White, used to be a bit submissive and worldly, over time some
critics believe the female character has progressed. Zarranz notes, ... even though it is

Emergence And Divergence In Wales
There was a widespread public expectation that devolution would bring greater policy innovation and
divergence between Scotland, Wales and the UK state. This essay will assess the situation of
divergence and convergence in Wales with a specific focus on the period after the devolution
settlement. To fully answer the question the essay shall be divided into several sections. Firstly, before
attempting to answer the question it will illustrate what convergence and divergence are and the
distinct types of policy areas. It will then look at the choice and the reasons for use of the case study in
this essay which is the health policies of Wales. When answering the question this essay will divide
the question into two sections, the first part will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Policy divergence is when a policy area moves away from the original norm and thus countries
policies develop substantial differences and are seen more predominantly in policy areas since
devolution. The most relevant work for this essay is the scholar Michael Keating who categorises
these policy divergences and convergences into five different areas. The first is policy autonomy, this
is when a policy differs due to the specific local needs and preferences. A subset of this is policy
competition, this fits in with policy learning which will be discussed later. Policy competition is when
a policy divergence exists because there is competition between policies to show off the innovation of
administration, typical with a reconvergence around one idea at the end. Convergence, on the other
hand, is when these policy differences are minimal and policies are similar, the most famous example
of this is seen in the European Union in the last few decades. The first area of convergence is policy
uniformity, this is when all the administrations align due to an external pressure such as establishing
the International Criminal Court. The other key area of convergence is concurrent policy when a
policy is similar due to the similar internal conditions and needs. The last type of policy Keating
specified was the non comparable policies examples are the Welsh language, policy areas which don t
exist in other parts of the devolved state. This will be sparsely used as non comparable policies do not
typically exist within the UK health policy. The reason for the choice of health care policies as a case
study is due to the extensive interest in this topic. Health policy scholar Scott Greer attributes this
interest by scholars to the substantial autonomy and developing policy differences. Michael Sullivan
goes further, suggesting that there is no clearer differentiation

Janie goes through many phases of her life. Hurston does an extraordinary job of putting the reader in
the time period of this novel. The book becomes alive and understandable as it progresses. The
relationship of Tea Cake and Janie is crucial in the understanding of this story. In Zora Neale Hurston
s novel, Their Eyes Were Watching God, Hurston expresses that Tea Cake does not love Janie when he
first started seeing her, but his love and intentions change over time. In the beginning of their
relationship everything was completely different than how it ended. Janie constantly pushed Tea Cake

Tea Cake is not giving Janie the love or attention that you give to someone that you care deeply for,
and someone that you love.
Tieing in with Tea Cake constantly leaving Janie, he also leaves her and takes her two hundred dollars.
During this time period that amount of money is a lot, so for him to take this says something about Tea
Cake. This makes Tea Cake questionable. How does he even know this money is there? ...so Janie
never told him about the two hundred dollars she had pinned inside her shirt next to her skin. (Hurston
117). Tea Cake is so desperate for this money he goes to the point of searching for it. Constantly
leaving Janie and then going to the point of taking her money and leaving without telling her or the
fact that he has her money speaks for itself. If he loved her then he wouldn t be taking her things,
especially something like money without even asking for Janie s permission for it.
Eventually, Tea Cake begins to show regret and guilt for his actions. He immediately wants go to and
get Janie s two hundred dollars back. This is because he knows he spent the money on a bad cause,
which was gambling. He explains, Ah won the money jus lak ah told yuh. Round midnight ah had yo

shows how he has regret in his actions. He also went as far as fighting to get what had belonged to

George S Patton Emotions
Although at first glance General George S. Patton is anything but creative, if you think about it, he is
one of the most creative people of all time. Both his battle strategies and speeches were creative, bold,
and extremely powerful. Each of his speeches, particularly his speech to the Third Army, are some of
the most powerful and motivated I have read. Each and every speech he spoke riled his troops and
made them want to crush the Nazis and win the war. Many people dislike Patton and his speeches
because of his vulgar language, but there is no denying the effect the speeches had on the troops who
served under him and the power in each word he spoke. http://www.wjpbr.com/patton.html Innovation

Causes Of Climate Change
What are the main contributing factors in climate change, and what should we do about it?
Climate change is undeniably one of the biggest problems which the world at large is currently having
to deal with. There are many factors that are causing climate change but more importantly, there are
numerous ways to combat it.
One of countless examples is environmental damage. Through this issue, mega cities like Delhi which
is the capital city of economically developing India suffer constantly with problems like smog. Due to
New Delhi being blanketed in thick smog, their very own chief minister, Arvind Kejriwal, has labelled
the mega city as a gas chamber . This major problem leads to severe consequences which were
suffered at the hands of the Delhi citizens who were choking, rendering them unable to breathe
properly. It is clear that the smog that floats above cities is the most obvious form of air pollution and
in turn, environmental pollution. In megacities like Mexico City, cars are indeed the main source of
pollutants and an effective way to combat this problem is introducing electric cars which do not run on
petrol or diesel. Electric cars reduce the amount of greenhouse gas emissions where common fuel
would emit a large quantity of carbon dioxide and additional gases. If these gases were to pollute the
air, it could contribute to the greenhouse effect and thus, lead to global warming. One pollutant related
to climate change and is in actual fact an element of smog, is

Natchez Tribe Social Structure
Native American life for the Natchez tribe was primitive and communal. The social structure of the
Natchez Native American tribe was organized by a caste system which drew from religious beliefs and
classified individuals as suns, nobles, honored people, and commoners. The most important members
of the tribe were the Peace Chief named the Great Sun, his right hand man, the War Chief, and the
four clan Mothers. The Chiefs were determined based upon the social status of their mother at birth.
Natchez were considered hierarchical because the Peace Chief named the Great Sun was always the
son of the clan Mother known as the Female Sun. Also, the Female Sun s daughter would be the
mother of the next the Great Sun. This made sure that the Chief was always male. The Natchez tribe
was a strong matrilineal society because the Female Sun gave birth to the Great Sun. The power was

Thomas Hardy s The Mayor of Casterbridge Essay
Thomas Hardy s The Mayor of Casterbridge.
Sex is so intertwined in our society that it pervades each facet, including television, books,
advertising, and conversation. Movies like The Matrix toss in gratuitous sex because the audience
nearly expects it. Thomas Hardy s The Mayor of Casterbridge, therefore, is exceptional in its lack of
sexual situations. The subject of sexual motivation and its inherent ambiguity with regard to Henchard
s actions is a topic that caught my attention from the very first pages of The Mayor of Casterbridge.
Continually in the novel there is tension, but it is never described as sexual. Much the same, there are

It seems that for Henchard, maturity involves a kind of assimilation of female suffering, an
identification with a woman which is also an effort to come to terms with with [his] own deepest sel[f]
(Showalter, 394). It is not until the end of the novel that Henchard realizes this, withdraws from
society, and loses his will to live. However, his wrongdoings are not completely restricted to women.
For this reason, I believe that this indicates not misdirected sexual energy, but a general lack of
knowledge.
Henchard s act of selling his wife had clearly been mentioned between husband and wife prior to the
actual incident, but that does not mean that it was well thought out. In fact, it seems that Henchard
rarely thought things out to a full extent. Selling his wife in the first place would lead me to believe
that he never loved Susan at all.
I married at eighteen, like the fool that I was; and this is the consequence. But a fellow never knows
these little things till all chance of acting upon em is past (9).
Further, this quote shows that Henchard did not even think thoroughly about marrying Susan. He
claims that he was a fool because he was eighteen; I say that at this point in the novel, he had not
grown emotionally in the least.
Likewise, Henchard s relationship with Lucetta seems to be centered on a debt he felt he owed her for

sexuality helps understand human personality better. All in all, The Bible encourages a loving, mutual,
caring, committed relationship . Understanding this, churches are beginning to grow more accepting
towards the LGBTQ community (Murphy).
Indic religions, or Dharmic religions, such as Hinduism and Buddhism, do not express strong opinions
on homosexuality. In fact, a third gender is mentioned in an ancient Hindu legal text called Manu
Smriti. This excerpt explains the third gender as such:
A male child is produced by a greater quantity of male seed, a female child by the prevalence of the
female; if both are equal, a third sex child or boy and girl twins are produced; if either are weak or
deficient in quantity, a failure of conception results (3.49).
The third gender is also defined as not procreative according to The Vedas, a Hindu scripture.
However, it is viewed negatively as the third gender is usually affiliated with low class as described in
ancient text (Gyatso). Interestingly, members of the third sex are not frowned upon even though some
ancient Hindu law books describe non vaginal sex as impure. Kama Sutra, a Hindu text that describes
the pleasure of

The Legacy Of The Civil War
Times of war often debut new technology that shapes the future. Seeing as how the Civil War was
known as the first modern war, it is appropriate to say that much new technological advancement was
made. Behind every piece of new technology or idea, there is a person or team that dedicated their
time to the development. When it comes to the Civil War aeronautics and much other future
advancement, Thaddeus S. C. Lowe is the man behind it. Lowe was an integral part in the success of
the aeronautics division of the war and paved the way for the world s future success in many other
fields.
Thaddeus Lowe s work was greatly under appreciated. He and other aeronauts proved time and time
again just how useful balloons could be, but, the work of Wise, Lowe, Steiner, and other aeronauts as
observers should have stirred up enthusiasm for balloons as military weapons, but neither the Army
nor the American public properly appreciated the potential of aeronautics (Scamehorn 9). This never
stopped Lowe from pursuing his dream. He fought to make ends meet by taking odd jobs so he could
finance his education in physics and other subjects that would eventually set him up for his success in
aeronautics. Through his persistent work, at thirty years of age, Thaddeus Lowe had organized an
aeronautics corps for the Union Army something that only a handful of people wanted to see happen at
the time (Military Intelligence Corps Hall of Fame). Having gained the support of a few key figures,

for all of the residents. However; not everybody will support my ideology. The interest group that will
oppose my campaign would be Americans for Tax Reform because it opposes any tax increase and
there will be little tax increase if I want to improve the quality education in the school. Another
interest group that will oppose my campaign would be One Nation PAC because it supports lower
taxes and limited government and I think which oppose that because I believe in governmental
involvement for the betterment of the society.
My slogan is Education is Power . I truly believe in this because education will lead to success in life
and success will lead to eradicating the poverty. And both of these are what I am standing for in this
election. Not only my slogan is important for the success of my campaign but an endorsement also
plays vital role in the success of my campaign. I would be honored to be endorsed by the Former first

Formulating Equations And Unbiased Opinion
It is important to see a situation from both sides when trying to understand people. You have to see it
through their eyes, and climb into their skin and walk around in it. (Lee, 39) It s important when you
are sympathizing for somebody and when you are trying to understand the reasoning behind someone
s actions. It s of paramount importance to see through somebody s eyes and then walk a mile in their
shoes.
When formulating an opinion over the wrongdoing of a person, it is important to understand both
positions. In a courtroom, a judge has to accept two arguments and formulate an unbiased opinion. If
he or she were to only see one position and then create an opinion, then it would be unfair and unjust.
Also, if a person was caught with

System and Change in Industrial Relations Analysis
Critique: System and Change in Industrial Relations Analysis As a student of industrial relations, I am
often bombarded with conflicting theories and reasons for the emergence and importance of this field.
Edmond Heery outlines and analyses the justaposition of two different views of modeling this vast and
often debated area of industrial relations. His article looks at two types of model building in IR. First,
the traditional model of systems thinking set forth by John Dunlop, one of the pioneers of IR theory.
Introduced in 1958, Dunlop s system theory of IR tries to provide tools to understand the widest
possible range of IR activities and explains why particular rules are established in particular contexts.
Dunlop argues that IR can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the exogenous gradual model, IR change occurs due to gradual, cumulative change that is driven by
forces beyond the employment control. An example is globalization. In the exogenous disjunctive
model, episodes of change are interspersed with periods of stability. The change itself is triggered into
the employment relationship by some external event, like a war. In the exogenous cyclical model,
change follows a repeating cycle of decline and renewal as IR adapts to cyclical pressures in the
external environment, such as election pressures and the economy. In the endogenous cyclical model,
change occurs because of the competing drives of the actors. For example, IR is said to be both
adversarial (due to the competing interests) and cooperative (due to interdependence of the parties).
Thus IR will oscillate between adversarial and cooperative mindsets depending on the context as the
limitations of each approach become apparent to both management and workers. In the endogenous
disjunctive model, change occurs as a result of strategic choices of the actors within the employment
relations. For example, as a result of unions traditional marginalization of women s and minorities
issues, there has been an increased mobilization of women and minorities within unions. In the
endogenous gradual model, change is gradually driven by forces internal to IR. This model stresses
the maturing of IR institutions over time, as they become more

Why Western Governors University Essay
Why WGU?
Choosing what college to attend can be a daunting process at any time. Selecting a school as an adult
student can be even more difficult. Beyond the normal considerations of cost, program types,
traditional school or online, and location, there are additional factors to consider as an adult student.
These may include work schedule conflicts, family life, distance to travel, and credit earned for life
experience. The nineteen governors who founded Western Governors University took these things into
consideration when developing the school and its programs. They developed a school that offers a
truly exceptional level of quality in education at a price that is around half of that charged by other
schools. So if low cost, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This occurs because the education received is competency based, rather than credit based. If a student
has prior experience and/or knowledge of a particular subject, or is able to work quickly and learn fast,
he or she can demonstrate that competence very quickly and move on to another subject. ( About
WGU: How We re Different, 2010) The student is also billed per semester, not per credit or course
taken. This allows the student to complete as many credits as he or she can adequately handle, all for
the same low price. This saves the student both time and money, both of which are precious in today s
economy. ( Tuition and Financial Aid, 2010) Students today are also looking for a school that is
convenient for them, both in location and in flexibility of scheduling. Western Governors University
offers convenience in both areas. Since it is an online school, the location couldn t be any more
appropriate. It is simply wherever the student has access to the internet and the time to study, whether
that is at home, on a break at work, or even on vacation. In addition, there are no set times for classes,
so a student can spend just a few minutes or long hours studying the necessary material whenever it is
suitable for him or her. What could be more convenient than working at one s own pace at a location
of one s own choosing? One might think that in exchange for lower tuition fees and no set class times,
one might have to give

Essay On The Equality For All Act
DISCUSSION The state of North Carolina infringed upon Joe Smith s 14th Amendment rights. In
addition to this, the state disregarded their own statute recognized as The Equality for all Act. North
Carolina violated this statute by discriminating against Joe Smith based on his race, gender, national
origin, religion, and financial means. This will be substantiated by exercising three components, strict
scrutiny (race, national origin, and/or religion), intermediate scrutiny (age and/or gender), and rational
basis (everything else). # 1. Strict scrutiny: A socially non discriminating law that is implemented in a
discriminatory modus operandi on the basis of race, is an infringement on the Equal Protection Clause
of the 14th Amendment. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Washington Superior Court sided with DeFunis and instructed the University of Washington Law

In the time period of 1750 1776 tensions had risen between the colonists and England. Circumstances
had gotten worse than before. Colonists got very mad because the English Parliament passed many
acts that raised taxes. In reply to the taxes the colonists revolted and took a stand. Document A shows
that in 1754 the Pennsylvania Gazette printed a cartoon of a snake that represented the colonies which
were divided in eight pieces, Georgia and Rhode Island were not included in the snake. This cartoon

9 Reasons Why You Should Incorporate Push Ups Into Your Daily Routine
Daily exercise is very important, but that doesn t mean you have to head to the gym or invest in
expensive equipment to do so. There is one form of exercise that you can do quickly, without any
special gear, and at any fitness level. The exercise is of course push ups, one of the oldest forms of
working out throughout history. However, thanks to all the high tech equipment available to us in the
modern age, the humble push up is often overlooked because it is so simple to perform. Don t be
fooled though, incorporating push ups into your daily fitness routine is extremely beneficial to your
health. Here are just a couple of reasons why this form of exercise is so beneficial.
1. Increased Endurance As Well As Upper Body Strength
Push ups are one of the most effectively ways to increase upper body strength without having to resort
to weight lifting. The major muscles used during a push up are the ones on the back of your arms,
front of your shoulders as well as your chest. Not only will push ups build and tone these muscles,
increasing your upper body strength, but you ll also be improving your endurance as well. ... Show

Speech On Grandparents
Nani and Pop have had many unforgettable and defining moments in our lives together. But becoming
grandparents six times (so far!) is right at the top of the list! We know that you have heard stories
about how excited we were to become your grandparents. I immediately nicknamed myself POP, and
shouted about it to the world. We fell head over heels in love with each of you the moment we met
you, and we couldn t wait to begin sharing adventures with you. And that love grows stronger and
deeper with each passing day.
What a joy it has been for us to watch you all as you have grown, and to see you develop your own
unique personalities. And we hope that you all know how important it is to us to always be here for
you, and to share with you some valuable lessons that will help you as you go through life.
We wish perhaps more than you will ever know that we could promise you a life free from pain,
temptation and suffering. But we know all too well from the personal experiences of living life in this
world that this will not be true for you. You will face many challenges. As a matter of fact, the Bible
tells us that, as Christians, we will be continually engaged in a spiritual battle, that we are at war!
The Apostle Paul tells us (Ephesians 6:13) to take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to
withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. In the next few verses, he describes the

Implementing A Job Rotation Program Within An Organization...
Zachary Golden
Final Paper Outline
Abstract The focus of this study is the benefits gained by implementing a job rotation program within
an organization and the advantages gained by the employees and employer. There are four key areas
that can be affect by job rotation:orienting new employees, training employees, enhancing career
development and preventing job boredom. In this study, I propose that incorporating a well planned
job rotation schedule not only improves the productivity of an organization, but also increases the
overall job satisfaction of employees.
Organizational Description Job rotation is an approach to employee development, where a person is
developed through a scheduled rotation through tasks in order give the widest exposure to the entire
operation. It is also practiced, so that qualified employees are provided more insight into a company s
processes, and to reduce employee burnout and increase job satisfaction through varying work to
provide new challenges. At the most senior levels, job rotation or management rotation, is closely
linked with developing specific people to step into an existing job. In this situation the goal is to
provide learning experiences and position prospective managers in area that allow them assume a
higher level position in the future. While this practice is important to the growth of management in a
business, this study will focus primarily on the rotation of junior management and workers. Job
rotation involves the

Pantry Moths Research Paper
5616 × 3744 Caption Pantry moths often infest foods stored in plastic bags and paper boxes. Alternate
Text Group Pantry moths, also known as Indian meal moths, are brownish red in color with a
wingspan just under 1 inch. They are typically brought into homes via contaminated food and once
they re in, everything in your pantry is fair game. Pantry moths munch on grains, flours, fruits, pet
food and birdseed. If your pantry is plagued with moths, you must take action immediately. One
female pantry moth can lay 400 eggs, making your food even more susceptible once those eggs hatch.
Home remedies are just as effective at controlling pantry moths as chemical insecticides and are safer
to use around food. 5616 × 3744 Caption Throw away any food that might be infested. Alternate Text

Alternate Text Group Wash any jars or cans you are putting back into the pantry in hot soapy water.
When restocking your pantry, always place the food in jars with a rubber ring and metal clasp or
sealed plastic containers. Zipper bags will not work. Your food must be protected by something more
than a bag to keep pantry moths at bay. 2880 × 1920 Caption Small pheromone traps can be used
outdoors or inside. Alternate Text Group Install a pheromone trap in your pantry. This will draw any
lingering moths away from your food and trap them to prevent another infestation. The presence or
lack of moths in your pheromone trap can also be used as a tool to monitor for moths. If your trap is
empty, you ll know for certain that you have rid yourself of these pests. 8320 × 5760 Caption
Alternate Text Group Take your trash out to the curb and wash your trash can thoroughly. Always
freeze flour, cereal and other grains for a week before putting them in the pantry. The cold will kill any
pantry moths that have hitched a ride before they get into your

NBA Marketing History
Strategies
Nataly Vasquez Monzon
One of the key things for the National Basketball Association during the Playoffs is their marketing
strategies. For the NBA it s important to give out an incentive for their followers to watch the games.
They spent millions on their public image and how to display it but why and how does this tie into IT?
Well the whole concept is IT related as well as the people working their magic behind the screens. We
are going to start with a bit of History, when the NBA League started marketing was a heavy and
important part, due to the fact that there needed to be followers in order for the association to continue
living . The 1960 s were a known for their purity and realism, followed by the ... Show more content

Also we start seeing star power, which influenced many marketing campaigns. We start seeing Kobe
Bryant and Shaquille O Neal as they grabbed most of the headlines and are locks for the Hall of Fame.
And we come to the 2010 s; this brings the entertainment value and athleticism to a whole new level.
There also many different Platforms like League Pass that allow consumers to become more
knowledgeable, while social media sites like Twitter have allowed us to engage in conversation and
debate with other fans and players. We also have an incredible star power here, aka LeBron James.
Back to the 70 s the biggest campaign was using sodas, like 7UP s Un Cola , Coca Cola and Pepsi. We
also see more advertisement on television and marketing teams looking at trends to see how and why
such campaigns worked and which were flops. Moving into the 80 s and 90 s we see that computers
are slowly starting taking over advertisement. It isn t until the 2000 s when we start to see more and
more marketing strategies and in the 2010 s we see that platforms such as Google, YouTube,
Facebook, and Twitter start to influence and branch out to different

WE Model Essay
The WE models cover the deterministic prediction of the impact of a range of typical surface
treatments on improved surface conditions.
The RD modes can be used to develop probabilistic distress predictions based on the variability found
in the observational data. The future used of probabilistic predictions of RD outcomes will allow road
agencies to better quantify the risks involved in managing the pavement infrastructure.
The RD and WE models are installed in the pavement management systems (PMS) of both the state
and local government agencies to provide efficient maintenance allocation and resourcing at a road
network level. In the process of developing the RD and WE models, a number of support tools were

  • 2. Summary Of The Night Odyssey Lost It was the summer of 1998; I was pregnant with my second child, when my two year old son, my husband, my brother Vladimir, his girlfriend Nicole, two other couples and I went on vacation to Brittany, France. Usually, I spent the summer in Serbia with my two grandmas and the rest of the family. But this year, we decided to go another time to visit them. I never thought this would be one of my most regretted decisions I have ever made. I cannot remember the name of the place where we stayed for two weeks. The only thing I do remember is our night odyssey in Paris, how we weren t able to find the way out through the maze tunnels to the highway which was supposed to lead us to the no name village in Brittany. Eventually, around midday, we arrived at our house. As we were the only ones with a child, the rest of the group treated my son like an alien whose task was to turn the nightly rest upside down, so the banned us to the only bedroom in the first floor. In hindsight, it was the best room of the whole house, due to the heat which emanated at night heavily from the attic rooms and made breathing difficult. The area was beautiful, green hills everywhere; the few houses looked like they were put into the lush meadows by a creative behemoth. Although you could not see the ocean, the constant blowing wind carried the salty, fishy smell to your house. The fleecy clouds alternated with the sunshine I a two day cycle. So we went sightseeing on the cloudy days, on the other, to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Different Types Of Naturally Occurring Fracture Networks 2.1 INTRODUCTION It has been long recognized that the presence of naturally occurring fracture network can lead to unpredictable heterogeneity and anisotropy within many reservoirs. In past geophysicists acquired and processed P wave reflection data at short offset, which automatically implied relatively small angular ray coverage. So seismic anisotropy, which is defined as directional dependence of elastic properties of earth remains unnoticed. But with the advance of methodologies, acquiring long offset and multi component data become feasible and cost effective, anisotropy showed up. On a smaller scale, stresses in the Earth can cause rock to fracture in a consistent manner. If these fractures are aligned, the rock will be anisotropic with the fast direction parallel to the fractures and the slow direction perpendicular to them. In ideal cases, these observations can provide information on the state of stress in the Earth. Different types of anisotropy have resulted depending on the direction of fracture orientation. A set of parallel vertical cracks embedded in an isotropic background gives rise a transverse isotropic medium with horizontal symmetry axis. Similarly in sedimentary basins orthorhombic symmetry is commonly caused by parallel vertical fractures embedded within a VTI background medium. It may also arise due to two or three mutually orthogonal fracture sets, or due to two identical fracture systems criss crossing with an arbitrary angle. Such sets of fractures ... • 6. City of God Analysis Kellene Berry Sociology 1 Kolstad 05/23/2012 City of God Application and Analysis The movie City of God has many examples of sociological theories of crime and deviance. Some of the major theories I noticed throughout the movie were the functionalist theory, including examples of relative depravation, as well as the interactionist theory, including differential association and labeling. There was also evidence of the conflict theory and the control theory throughout the film. The functionalist theory states that hard work leads to rewards, and when these rewards are not sufficient, deviance arises. Crime and deviance result from structural tensions and a lack of moral regulation within society (Giddens). An example of this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Conflict theory says that crime and deviance is a result of economic inequalities. If the families in the movie had money, they would have no desire to be deviant and commit robbery. One example of the control theory in the movie was the fact at how easily the children were committing crimes. The control theory says that crime results from an imbalance between impulses toward criminal activity and social or physical controls that deter it (Giddens). It seemed that all of the children in the City of God had guns, but not one of the people they robbed had a gun. This made it fairly easy for kids to rob others who are unarmed. Also the kids were allowed to run around the city without any parental supervision. Even the police had a hard time catching the youths after they committed crimes. These factors allowed the children to be deviant with no reprimanding what so ever. In conclusion the movie City of God was an excellent example of the many sociological theories discussed in class. The movie demonstrated the functionalist theory, the interactionist theory, the conflict theory and even the control theory. It provided a prime example of the work of many sociologists, such as Emil Durkheim, Robert Merton, Edwin Sutherland, Edwin Lemert, Karl Marx and many others. Each of these sociological theories was helpful in understanding the crime and deviance in the movie. Works Cited Giddens, Anthony, Mitchell Duneier, Richard Appelbaum, and ... This essay will assess the situation of divergence and convergence in Wales with a specific focus on the period after the devolution settlement. To fully answer the question the essay shall be divided into several sections. Firstly, before attempting to answer the question it will illustrate what convergence and divergence are and the distinct types of policy areas. It will then look at the choice and the reasons for use of the case study in this essay which is the health policies of Wales. Policy divergence is when a policy area moves away from the original norm and thus countries policies develop substantial differences and are seen more predominantly in policy areas since devolution. The most relevant work for this essay is the scholar Michael Keating who categorises these policy divergences and convergences into five different areas. The first is policy autonomy, this is when a policy differs due to the specific local needs and preferences. A subset of this is policy competition, this fits in with policy learning which will be discussed later. Policy competition is when a policy divergence exists because there is competition between policies to show off the innovation of administration, typical with a reconvergence around one idea at the end. Convergence, on the other hand, is when these policy differences are minimal and policies are similar, the most famous example of this is seen in the European Union in the last few decades. The first area of convergence is policy uniformity, this is when all the administrations align due to an external pressure such as establishing the International Criminal Court. The other key area of convergence is concurrent policy when a policy is similar due to the similar internal conditions and needs. The last type of policy Keating specified was the non comparable policies examples are the Welsh language, policy areas which don t exist in other parts of the devolved state. This will be sparsely used as non comparable policies do not typically exist within the UK health policy. The reason for the choice of health care policies as a case study is due to the extensive interest in this topic. Health policy scholar Scott Greer attributes this interest by scholars to the substantial autonomy and developing policy differences. Michael Sullivan goes further, suggesting that there is no clearer differentiation ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 14. Causes Of Climate Change What are the main contributing factors in climate change, and what should we do about it? Climate change is undeniably one of the biggest problems which the world at large is currently having to deal with. There are many factors that are causing climate change but more importantly, there are numerous ways to combat it. One of countless examples is environmental damage. Through this issue, mega cities like Delhi which is the capital city of economically developing India suffer constantly with problems like smog. Due to New Delhi being blanketed in thick smog, their very own chief minister, Arvind Kejriwal, has labelled the mega city as a gas chamber . This major problem leads to severe consequences which were suffered at the hands of the Delhi citizens who were choking, rendering them unable to breathe properly. It is clear that the smog that floats above cities is the most obvious form of air pollution and in turn, environmental pollution. In megacities like Mexico City, cars are indeed the main source of pollutants and an effective way to combat this problem is introducing electric cars which do not run on petrol or diesel. Electric cars reduce the amount of greenhouse gas emissions where common fuel would emit a large quantity of carbon dioxide and additional gases. If these gases were to pollute the air, it could contribute to the greenhouse effect and thus, lead to global warming. • 24. Formulating Equations And Unbiased Opinion It is important to see a situation from both sides when trying to understand people. You have to see it through their eyes, and climb into their skin and walk around in it. (Lee, 39) It s important when you are sympathizing for somebody and when you are trying to understand the reasoning behind someone s actions. It s of paramount importance to see through somebody s eyes and then walk a mile in their shoes. When formulating an opinion over the wrongdoing of a person, it is important to understand both positions. In a courtroom, a judge has to accept two arguments and formulate an unbiased opinion. System and Change in Industrial Relations Analysis Critique: System and Change in Industrial Relations Analysis As a student of industrial relations, I am often bombarded with conflicting theories and reasons for the emergence and importance of this field. Edmond Heery outlines and analyses the justaposition of two different views of modeling this vast and often debated area of industrial relations. His article looks at two types of model building in IR. First, the traditional model of systems thinking set forth by John Dunlop, one of the pioneers of IR theory. Introduced in 1958, Dunlop s system theory of IR tries to provide tools to understand the widest possible range of IR activities and explains why particular rules are established in particular contexts. Dunlop argues that IR can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the exogenous gradual model, IR change occurs due to gradual, cumulative change that is driven by forces beyond the employment control. An example is globalization. In the exogenous disjunctive model, episodes of change are interspersed with periods of stability. The change itself is triggered into the employment relationship by some external event, like a war. In the exogenous cyclical model, change follows a repeating cycle of decline and renewal as IR adapts to cyclical pressures in the external environment, such as election pressures and the economy. In the endogenous cyclical model, change occurs because of the competing drives of the actors. For example, IR is said to be both adversarial (due to the competing interests) and cooperative (due to interdependence of the parties). Thus IR will oscillate between adversarial and cooperative mindsets depending on the context as the limitations of each approach become apparent to both management and workers. In the endogenous disjunctive model, change occurs as a result of strategic choices of the actors within the employment relations. For example, as a result of unions traditional marginalization of women s and minorities issues, there has been an increased mobilization of women and minorities within unions. In addition to this, the state disregarded their own statute recognized as The Equality for all Act.
