Persuasive Speech On Organ Trafficking In China
A.(Attention Gainer) Can you imagine being in prison and being forced to take blood tests and
medical exams? That these medical tests are what going to determine whether you live or not. You
probably cannot imagine that, but that is what is happening to many prisoners in China. These
prisoners are being tested for potential buyers in Chinafor illegal human organtrafficking
B.(Reason to Listen) This practice is inhumane and unethical and we need to put an end to
something like this.
C.(Establishing Credibility) Through extensive research of human organ trafficking, I am confident
enough to be discussing this issue.
D.(Thesis) China is performing unethical acts for their human organ trafficking and we need to put
an end to it.
E.(Preview Main Points) Today, I am going to talk about how the Chinese government is lying to
their people, why this practice is still going on, and solutions to ending this problem.
II.Body
A.(Main Point # Problems/ Harms) The Chinese government has been deceitful to their people
about where the main source of their organs come from.
1.Chinese government has told their citizens that the organs they receive come from volunteers and
not from prisoners anymore. However, For the last decade or more, Chinese hospitals, aided by
internet advertising, have been major destinations for wealthy or well insured transplants tourists
from around the world (Danovitch et al., 2013, p. 1308 1309).

How Did Ernest Hemingway Revolutionize What An Author...
Ernest Miller Hemingway was an American author, short story writer, and journalist. He was an
influential author in the 20th century. He was unlike many other novelists who wrote out very
long intricate sentences. Hemingway revolutionizes what an author should be like. Which is why
many people fell in love with his economical and modesty style of writing. His life of adventure
and the view of the public influenced later generations. However, at the highest point of his
literary career, Hemingway s body and mind were beginning to betray him. He suffered from
depression and was treated for many severe conditions such as high blood pressure and liver
disease. Late 1900s, Hemingway committed suicide in his Ketchum home.

Gender Roles In Medieval Europe
Women in Medieval Europe lived the life one may expect them to live from the 5th and 15th
centuries. We know today that women are treated equal compared to men (in most cases), and
we also know that Women were not always given the freedoms that they have today. This was no
different in Medieval Europe during these times. Women were expected to hold jobs in which
they took care of children and tended the household, occasionally helping their husbands with
crops during the busy part of the planting year (bl.uk). Also as we would expect, men had
complete power and say in the relationship (wikipedia.org). Women lived a lot more different
back in Medieval times than they do today, but it was their lifestyle, and they did what society
asked of them, whether they wanted to or not. Women and their families often grew up in rural
areas, making most of their money and living from the land they would tend, and the crops they
grew (bl.uk). Most women were neither nuns or housewives, but worked. Women s
gender...excluded them from the learned professions of scholarship, medicine, and law. A
women rarely considered herself as just a wife ( The Western Heritage p. 218). Women held a
lot of traditional roles and jobs in medieval times. Women were expected to be in charge of
making all of the food for the whole family. Men rarely cooked, as this was the job of the women.
Also, women were expected to be the primary caretakers of the children, as the men were often
working in the fields, and

Patrick Henry s Speech To The Virginia Convention Summary
In Patrick Henry s Speech to the Virginia Convention , he states , I have but one lamp by which
my feet are guided; and that is the lamp of experience (Henry 3). Henry gave this speech on
March 23, 1775 at Richmond, Virginia. He recognized that the relationship between the 13
colonies and Great Britain was turning sour. Henry has previous experiences with Britain have
lead him to believing that a war is the best decision. Patrick Henry stood before the colonists of
Virginia, and gave them a compelling speech of why their relations with Englandhas to change.
Patrick Henry gave a homely called Speech to the Virginia Convention , in which he utilized
persuasive tone and allusion to relay his views of Great Britain to the colonists of Virginia.
Henry s persuasive tone advises his fellow colonists to rebel against England in order to gain
their freedom. In the opening of his speech, he claims, No man thinks more highly than I do of
the patriotism, as well as abilities, of the very worthy gentlemen who have just addressed the
House (Henry 1). Henry treats his fellow congressmen with respect in order to gain credibility
and trust, in order to be more persuasive to the audience. Patrick Henry s approach is peaceful, as
he is avoiding aggressiveness. Which, gains the trust and respect of his peers. This persuades the
colonists to take Henry seriously, because and gives them the sense that he is not belittling them.
He makes a point of this by saying, As well as

The Handmaid s Tale How does the reading contribute to your emerging understanding of the novel?
One of the main themes is postmodernist of absolute truth... The Handmaid s Tale by Atwood
makes readers to question the authenticity of constructing universal truth .....is a postmodern text as
it emphasises the form rather than the content. It demonstrates a belief that language does not
simply mirror the world, but aids us in reconstruction. Postmodernism is sceptical about the
universal truth as well as the language that claims to be authoritative and objective. The stylistic

keep them hidden from it, portraying the limits of freedom they have. Various interpretation affects

Spinal Cord Protection Strategies For Thoracic...
Spinal Cord Protection Strategies for Thoracic Endovascular Aneurysm Repair With an incidence
once as high as 40%, spinal cord paralysis in thoracoabominal procedures has declined, however,
still remains a devastating threat post surgery (Roman, Grewal, Taylor, Grigore, 2014). Modern
techniques for repair of thoracic aneurysms and dissections include an open incision with
extracorporeal bypass and aortic clamping. This surgical procedure puts patients at great risk for
spinal cord paralysis. Open procedures required meticulous reimplantation of intercostal blood
vessels, deep hypothermic cardiac arrest, epidural cooling, and various pharmacologic
interventions. As surgical technique has advanced to percutaneous endograft repair, most of these
techniques are no longer needed. However, the incidence of paralysis is still prevalent in patients
having a TEVAR procedure. Naloxone, an opioid antagonist, has been studied as an additional
pharmacologic adjunct in the prevention of spinal cord paralysis (Roman, Grewal, Taylor,
Grigore, 2014). Spinal cord injury can be multifactorial and a review of the literature indicates for
patients undergoing endovascular repair of thoracic aneurysms, the use of multiple spinal cord
protection strategies collectively reduce spinal cord injury compared to the use of naloxone as a
primary measure.

Questions On The Word Equity
Introduction
The word equity has numerous meanings and to various people it is a symbol of fairness or
justice. The origin of equity can be traced to the deficiencies of the common law. Beyond
question, common law had flaws where any solution is unavailable or where there was an
availability of a remedy but it was not fit for the plaintiff loss. Moreover, the common law was
studded with formality. If two parties engage in a verbal contract in case of common law,
common law under no circumstances will spot the contract not provide any remedy to it. This was
one of the major flaws because whatever be the circumstances. In many cases equity stepped up
and provided remedies irrespective of the fact that there was a lack of formality. The main... Show

Over the last 50 years there has been immense change in the law of equity. This can be well
justified by the maxim, for example, where the equities are same, the first in time happens , and
the impact on happenings, as well as interest which are conflicting in nature and the maxim
equity behave in personam its impact on the working of the law outside the judgement. The
whole structure has been implemented with the aim of providing maximum benefit. The
statement flexible when law appears to be dominant, discretionary when law appears to be
obligatory and humane in its concern for justice rather than rights clearly signifies the
development of equity over the past 50 years. As a matter of fact, equity entails discretionary
features both in terms of application and even its extent which have a deep impact on the issue
related to domestic, as well as international law . By and by equitable principles came out as a
support to the Roman, as well as English common law which are done in order to enhance or
correct the body of civil law.
Maxim
The maxim of equity can be well described from the statement and the well defined principles
which are laid down so as to control the manner of the operation of the equity principles. This helps
to project the features of equity and in particular contrary to the common law which has a flexible
nature, impactful considering the need of the particular person and more focussed to

Influential Softball Coach Essay
Influential Softball Coach
I met a life changing individual in middle school. We referred to him as Mr. D . He was my
seventh and eighth grade English teacher. I sat in his class and dozed off during his grammar
lectures. He often sparked my attention with jokes, sports scores, stories from literature books.
However, the majority of Mr. D s classes were not overly exciting or stellar in anyway.
In the spring of my seventh eighth grade year I decided to branch out and try a new sport. I
signed up for our school s softball team. A new coach was going to be taking on the difficult task
of teaching the love of the game to a group of girls. The coach was going to be my English
teacher. Mr. D taught the team to play softball well. He... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was a very unfamiliar place for me. I did not handle the situation well. I was extremely upset
with him. The next day I wrote him a letter apologizing for my actions and lack of heart. He
wrote me back explaining that sometimes things happen in sports as well as life that we do not
necessarily agree with or like but they may be for the good of the majority of the people. I slowly
realized Mr. D and I had many things in common. We both loved people, new experiences, family,
church, and most importantly the cultured game of soccer.
One day at my school s mass Mr. D volunteered to tell a story that related the gospel and homily.
For the first time in a formal setting he had caught my attention right away. He faced the
congregation and told his inspiring story. A baby and his mother boarded a flight one day. Bad
luck came their way and the plane crashed. The pilot was the only survivor. As the pilot was exiting
the plane eagerly trying to save himself, he heard a cry from the passenger area of the plane. He
managed to find his way to a little baby boy crying in the hands of his mother. The baby had
survived by the help of that kind pilot. That miracle baby was my middle school teacher and
softball coach. Mr. D s lost his mother that day, but due to the kindness of another individual his
life was saved. This experienced has influenced and driven this elderly person to teach the youth.

Proclamation Of 1763 Was Offensive To The Colonists
Proclamation of 1763 Forbade all American settlement West of the Appalachian Mountains to
appease the Natives. The Proclamation was offensive to the Colonists because the Colonists
thought they deserved the land after fighting with the British in the Seven Years War. Colonists
rebelled against this and settled on the land anyways . The Proclamation was significant because it
was one of the first times that Americans were being restricted by the Crown. Virtual
Representation Stated that Parliament members spoke on behalf of all British subjects instead of
the interests of one region. Colonists were angered by this because they knew that Parliament has

Revolutionary War. British men were tasked with seizing arms in Concord. The minutemen and
redcoats crossed paths in Lexington and Britain was forced to retreat back to Boston. This was a
major victory for the Patriots which bolstered their confidence and influenced other people to join

The Revolution Of New Orleans
A nineteenth century San Francisco song reads, The miners came in forty nine, the whores in fifty
one; and when they got together they produced the native son. This sheds some light as to how
long prostitution has been a part of America. Prostitution dates back to the beginning of
colonization in the United States, but wasn t considered a legal act. At the time the laws just didn t
acknowledge what a prostitute or the act of prostitutionitself was. In 1721, the French government
shipped eighty women to the colony of New Orleans that housed seven hundred men to promote
marriage. Also, as a means to detour the men from having relations with the Native American
women. However, the women sent were previous prostitution offenders in France,... Show more

Many believe the illegalization of prostitution today to be an antiquated view of the trade, and want
to see it legalized. However, prostitution should not see legalization due to it will promote more
sexual unacceptable activities such as child prostitution, expand the sex trafficking trade, and
escalate poor treatment to those in the trade.
Legalization of prostitution will promote more sexual unacceptable activities such as child
prostitution. It is estimated that about two million children are exploited in the sex trade yearly
(Global Sex Trafficking Fact Sheet). Child prostitutes are considered safer than adults because
many customers feel less likely to contract a STD due to their young age. Forty percent of the US
adult prostitutes today say they were illegally trafficked into the trade as children. Males make up
twenty percent of US prostitution population and averaged a starting age of fourteen. Women make
up seventy percent and averaged the same starting age of fourteen (Prostitution Statistics You Have
to Know). It is naГЇve to say that prostitution, illegal or legal, does not promote child prostitution.
The trafficking and presence of child prostitutes has had known increases in countries where
prostitution is legalized due to supply needing to meet demand. Victoria, Australia legalized
prostitution in 1984, and was found to have a dramatic increase in child organized commercial

Clinical Dietitian
A clinical dietitian is one career path registered dietitians may pursue. UW Health is a network of
hospitals and clinics that hires registered dietitians to work with patients to achieve their health and
wellness goals, using the foundation of good nutrition to do so. UW Health employs dietitians both
in the hospital settings, and in out patient clinics. This report will focus on the role of dietitians in
the out patient setting. The UW Health website describes the role of the dietitianas being in charge

Each patient will bring with them a unique profile. It is important to look at health history,
genetics, dietary preferences, lifestyle, etc. in order to gain an accurate picture of that individual
s goals and needs. Looking at all of these aspects in each individual situation requires the ability to
adapt and think on your toes. Integrating genetics into the process of creating a personalized
nutritional plan is considered nutritional genomics. While it is not widely used yet, it is an up and
coming practice that future clinical dietitians should become familiar with. This practice will
require some patience, as it is new and there may be some kinks in the process. Some people do
not believe there to be a link between nutrition and genetics, however, the science is showing that
there is indeed a connection. To prepare for the professional world, dietitians should become
familiar with the tests used in nutritional genomics and how genes may play a role in an individuals
personalized nutrition plan. This is an example of a new trend in dietetics that registered dietitians
are expected to remain current on. Being a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
(ACEND) would help dietitians to stay informed on recent topics such as nutritional genomics.
Dietitians must be able to integrate their nutritional knowledge into a clinical

The VTX works like the pump pushing waves of electricity through the antenna. Without an
antenna, there s nowhere for the waves to go, so they bounce back, creating greater and greater
wave harmonics that overload the amplifier of the VTX. With so much current flowing through, the
circuit heats up. Eventually, this much current can create so much heat that the chemical bonds in

The Differences Of Cruel And Unusual Punishment
Cruel and Unusual Punishment
If you had the choice would you rather die from being crushed by an elephant or by what the
persians called Scaphism ? You could have rats dig through your flesh into your chest or be boiled
alive (Eldridge 2017). It all sounds pretty tempting am I right? The eighth amendment to the U.S.
Constitution prohibits the federal government from imposing cruel and unusual punishment for
federal crimes. What is cruel and unusual punishment? What are the differences between old
medieval, Roman, Egyptian and, nowadays cruel and unusual punishments? To understand the topic
of my paper we have to understand what cruel and unusual punishment means. Dictionary.com
states that it is punishment prohibited by the Eighth Amendment to the Constitution. Cruel and
unusual punishment includes torture, deliberately degrading punishment, or punishment that is too
severe for the crime committed. This concept helps guarantee due process even to convicted
criminals. Many people have argued that capital punishment should be considered cruel and unusual
punishment (Dictionary.com 2017).
Cruel; disposed to inflict pain or suffering, devoid of humane feelings, causing or conducive to
injury, grief, or pain. Unusual; not usual : uncommon, rare. Punishment; suffering, pain, or loss that
serves as retribution: a penalty inflicted on an offender through judicial procedure (Merriam
Webster 2017).

The Importance Of Socialization In Ancient Roman Society
The biggest and most indicative social activity in ancient Roman society was that of gladiatorial
combat, and all of the additional components that went along with it. Roman s of all ages,
backgrounds, and social classes spent an exorbitant amount of time observing and enjoying this
brutal pastime. For many, especially historians that hold Romein high regard, it s hard to believe
that these games were such a critical and pervasive component of Roman social life. To historians
the games are scandalous, a monstrous phenomenon, a morass or hatred and sadomasochism,
(Meijer, pp. 2). The evolution of the games from their beginning in roughly 27 BC (Meijer, pp.

Although Rome was an incredibly successful and wealthy society at it s peak, it was also
plagued by extreme levels of stratification and class conflict. Everybody had their place in society
whether that was a political member of the aristocracy, a regular plebeian farmer, or even a slave.
The Roman Empire went to great lengths to maintain these class divisions. Although many saw the
Roman colosseum as a symbol of unity, even this wasn t free of class division. In the lowest row
of seats, on a raised platform (podium) 4 metres above the arena, sat most prominent Romans,
often dressed in white togas. The emperor had the best seat of all in a kind of box (pulvinar) in
the first row at the centre of one of the longer sides of the arena, (Meijer, pp. 105). Although this
class structure was understood by Roman citizens, it wasn t always abided by. The common people
and Gladiators alike did have instances of revolution and revolt. In 73 BC, Spartacus the Gladiator
led a relatively successful gladiator/slave revolt, eighty gladiators escaped. The escape plan has
been attributed to three men, Spartacus, Crixus and Oenomaus, (Meijer, pp. 31). Although they did
ultimately meet their death, this instance illustrated the dissatisfaction of some Gladiators with the
class system they found themselves in. On the other hand if we

The Demise Of The Andersen Accounting
The Enron scandal was one of the most notorious bankruptcies of all time. Many people know about
the energy titan s downfall but less realize that it was also one of the biggest auditing blunders in
American corporate history, leading to the dissolution of the Arthur Andersen LLP, which at the
time was one of the five largest auditing and accountancy partnerships in the world. The most
intriguing aspect of this case is that Andersen was eventually cleared by the United States Supreme
Court, yet the company still failed to live on due to its tarnished reputation stemming from its
unethical behaviors. The pressure to generate revenue for clients while simultaneously auditing
their books became too large a burden for the firm and they eventually resorted to unethical means
to achieve their objectives. The demise of the Andersen accounting firm shows the true importance
of practicing good ethicsand maintaining a good reputation amongst peers; the vitality of the
business could depend on sustaining a clean image in the ever changing business world. Although
there were many problems that led to Andersen s demise, the major ethical issue that plagued the
accounting firm was a conflict of interest due to their dual roles as both an auditing and consulting
firm. Andersen provided financial advice to clients in order to increase revenue streams. The firm
was very adept at this; in fact, by the the end of the 20th century, Andersen LLP had helped tripled

The Goffman s Theory Of Dramaturgy
Pretend you are playing the role of a character named Jordan, while discussing Erving Goffman s
theory of dramaturgy. Jordan finally made it. Jordan finally graduated university and has been
lucky enough to receive an offer for an interview at the institution that he had been working towards
his entire university career, an interviewat the top law firm in all of Toronto. Now it is time to
prepare. It is time for Jordan to show the firm that he is meant to be there. To show the firm that
this position was meant for him, he must be the best version of himself. Jordan is competing
against hundreds of other university graduates, but he must show them that he is the one. Jordan s
first impression matters, he must show them the qualities that they want to see to ensure that he
receives the position at the law firm. While attending this interview in the role of Jordan, you
want to put forward the best version of yourself, it is expected by all to do so. If you want the job
you are going to show the interviewers exactly what they want to see to ensure that you get the
position. While doing this you are engaging in what Goffman calls impression management.
Impression management refers to the verbal and nonverbal practices we employ in an attempt to
present an acceptable image of our self to others (Goffman, 2012, pg. 469). You portray a certain,
expected image to the audience and hope that they see that image the way that you intended. In

To The Memory Of Some I Knew Who Are Dead And Who Loved...
The Easter Rising of 1916 occurred in Ireland in the midst of World War One, and the two events
are closely entwined. Many Irish people initially struggled to reconcile the politics of Irish
nationalism with Irish contributions to World War One. George Russell was one of the first to
attempt to offer an equal commemoration of both events. In 1917, Russell published his poem To
the Memory of Some I Knew Who are Dead and Who Loved Irelandin the Irish Times. This poem
was a revised version of Salutation, which Russell had written to commemorate the rebels of the
Easter Rebellion. In the revised version, Russell interspersed each stanza about the rebels with
stanzas about Irish soldiers. Russell unites these two great losses and their ideologies. He reveals
the shared struggle in the trauma of both events, forming the foundation for a collective memory
and shared Irish identity. To the Memory of Some I Knew anchors the nationalism of World War

Many Irish opposed the actions of the National Volunteers, the group promoting Irish nationalism

women, disliked the Volunteers, because many...had husbands and relations fighting for the British

After looking at the patterns of car prowl crimes in the NE Airport way district it is obvious that
is highly packed with theft. There is somewhat of a pattern that occurs during the months of
October and November. The amount of car prowler crimes are slightly above average in these
two months. This could be due to the amount of shopping people do during these months
because of Black Friday and Halloween. Therefore, people are more vulnerable to leave their
belongings in cars. Not just car prowl crimes is high in the NE district but theft as a whole is very

Evidence Led Crime Reduction Project
Evidence Led Crime Reduction Project to Reduce Shoplifting
Shoplifting, once described as something committed by individuals who are too afraid to take
other criminal risks (Egan Taylor, 2010); is a widespread problem across England and Wales,
which is slowly becoming known as a common method of consumer product acquisition (Cox, Cox
Moschis 1990). There has been many methods introduced in order to tackle this growing issue, yet
there is a lack of official crime reduction guidelines to allow an effective and unanimous approach
towards the successful reduction of shoplifting.
The scale of shoplifting in the United Kingdom in the past few years has changed to worrying
levels, this is also true of the scope of shoplifting as well. The Office of National Statistics have
reported 321,008 police recorded shoplifting incidents from April 2013 to March 2014 (See
Statistics 2010,), along with this articles have shown 34 of policed forces across the UK have
presented a 6% increase in shoplifting (Pidd Collier, 2014). Such academics as Klemke (1978)
have claimed that shoplifting significantly reduces with age (See Egan Taylor, 2010), it seems to be
a so called hobby that is popular amongst the younger generations, particularly adolescents.
Furthermore, official government crime statistics have shown that shoplifting rates were around
three times higher in urban and city areas than in rural areas with supermarkets experiencing
shoplifting more than other retailers (Home

Packet Inspection Using a Hierarchical Pattern Matching Algorithm
T. .Mukthar Ahamed

Proddatur, India tmukthar@gmail.com Abstract: Detection engines capable of inspecting packet
payloads for application layer network information are urgently required. The most important
technology for fast payload inspection is an efficient multipattern matching algorithm, which
performs exact string matching between packets and a large set of predefined patterns. This paper
proposes a novel Enhanced Hierarchical Multipattern Matching Algorithm (EHMA) for packet
inspection. Based on the occurrence frequency of grams, a small set of the most frequent grams is
discovered and used in the EHMA. EHMA is a two tier and cluster wise matching algorithm, which
significantly reduces the amount of external memory accesses and the capacity of memory. Using a
skippable scan strategy, EHMA speeds up the scanning process. Furthermore, independent of
parallel and special functions, EHMA is very simple and therefore practical for both software and
hardware implementations. Simulation results reveal that EHMA significantly improves the
matching performance. The speed of EHMA is about 0.89 1,161 times faster than that of current
matching algorithms. Even under real life intense attack, EHMA still performs well.

The African American And Hispanic Community Essay
Yes I do feel that the efforts to gain equal rights and right for traditionally excluded people are
still incomplete. Society is still suffering from the after effects of slavery. Although, we as a
society are looked at as all human beings with the same life value, it is not that simple. The efforts
for everyone to be equal has made a tremendous improvement it still has not made enough to say
that we are all equal in society. The African American
community and Hispanic community are very
inferior to the Caucasian community. Society has made it very clear about how they feel about the
African American and Hispanic community. The media, television, education are very stereotypical
on the inferior communities. The media has depicted African Americans as ghetto, uneducated,
Drug lords, crack victims and classless.
Hispanics are depicted as only good enough to be a gardener or maid, that all they do is have a lot
of children, and that they stand in front of Home Depot. In television shows or movie films African
American characters are more likely to have negative characteristics than Caucasians characters.
Negative characteristics such as using vulgar profanity: black people are 89 percent, white people
are 17 percent, being physically violent: black people are 56 percent, white people are 11 percent,
and lacking self control: black people are 55 percent and white people are 6 percent. African

The Tragic Characters Of Sophocles Antigone
In literature, a tragedy is a drama where the main character in the end suffers extreme sorrow
because of their mistakes or poor judgment. If characters fates are to suffer the extreme sorrows,
then these characters are tragic characters. These tragic characters, however, must follow Aristotle s
principles which include hamartia, hubris, peripeteia, anagnorisis, nemesis, and catharsis. If the
character has all six of Aristotle s principles, then the character can qualify as an Aristotelian tragic
character. Two examples of Aristotelian tragic characters are from Sophocles
Greek play Antigone
from the trilogy dealing with Oedipusand his children (Oedipus Rex, Oedipus at Colonus, and
Antigone). The two Aristotelian tragic characters are Creon, the king of Thebes in Antigone, and
Antigone herself.
Creon s hamartia, his flaw that causes his downfall, includes his stubbornness which causes him
to not listen to the opinions of others, including Tiresias, additionally, this also connects to
hubris since he also did this because of his pride. In Antigone, Creon is an Aristotelian tragic
character. His six principles are more obvious to the reader. Tiresias tries to warn Creon as to
what will come if he doesn t change his ways now, but he ignores Tiresias even though he is a
prophet. Creon says Tiresias sold his wisdom and lets out his words for hire (Sophocles 837). This
means that Creon thinks that Tiresias has come to say these things to him because someone pays

How Did Aristophanes Make Lysistrata A Crude Comedy
Aristophanes
Aristophanes was a comic writer who lived between 450 and 385 BC and composed about forty
plays in his lifetime. His plays were all comedies, which usually addressed very serious political
and social issues in a direct and crude manner, which, like much of today s comedy, is what made
them funny for the audience to watch and appreciate. Many of the comedies would even go as far as
mocking members of the audience or making personal attacks upon contemporary political
personalities. Aristophanes Lysistrata is no exception to this crudecomedy, ridiculing what he thinks
is the absurdity of the Peloponnesian War. The comedy is a brilliantly constructed piece with an
extremely profound underlying message encouraging a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The city state built blockades to resist occupation by the Athenian army and sparked revolt
elsewhere in the area, in Chalcidice and Bottiaea. Since negotiations failed, the Athenians sent
troops into the region by ship. However the Athenians also had their hands full with the
Macedonians in the same region and had difficulty suppressing the revolt. When Athens finally
made a treaty with Perdiccas, the Macedonian leader, she found herself betrayed as the
Macedonians joined alongside the Corinthians, who had come to the defense of the Potidaeans. In
spite of all of this, the Athenians were able to recapture control of most of the region with the
arrival of reinforcements. Seeing that their own citizens were now trapped, Corinth called a

Athenian Empire reached their peak. After another meeting a month later the Peloponnesian

In fact the Spartans sent three different ambassadors to Athens over the course of the winter in an

Many think that the appeal of rap music, commonly portrayed with blatant sex, gratuitous
violence, countless firearms, copious amounts of drugs, and stacks of seemingly endless
money, is somewhat irrelevant or foolish. But you can t ignore the fact that many other genres
of music do the same thing. Many old rock and roll songs referenced illegal drugs, other rock
songs frequently refer to violence and other crimes of the sort, and modern pop frequently talks
about love, sometimes in a very explicit way. Even some operas and classical compositions were
written to portray the stories of star crossed lovers, killing everyone who tried to refute their
love. But hip hop can be more than this. Looking at songs such as 1 800 by Logic once again, or
I m sorry by Joyner Lucas, both of these songs include the very emotional topic of suicide. Rap
can express any meaning other musical genres can. This also helps us see, there really isn t any

What Is The Purpose Of The Odyssey
Provide significant details about the author (120 1): Homer
Homer, the author of The Odyssey , was believed to be blind. ( Homer )
Homer s writings were used to teach Greek students how to read in school (Beers 120).
Style5 conventions (121) The 5 conventions Homer uses in his writing are invocation
(invoking action), in medias res (middle of action), epic similes (comparing heroic events to events
in everyday life), metrical structure (6 syllables per line so a passage will be easier for a speaker to
memorize), and stock epithets (descriptive adjective) (Beers 121).
Philosophies Greeks believed in many gods, and due to Homer s blindness, many people believed
that Homer had godlike abilities. This is because it was said by philosophers that after losing one
sense other abilities became stronger, which meant that Homer s other senses had become godlike
(Beers 120). Every time the Greeks found something that they didn t understand they created a God
to explain the phenomenon (Massa). The main gods that appear in The Odyssey are Zeus, the god of
the Sky, who saves Odysseus multiple times, Poseidon, the god of the ocean, who holds resentment
toward Odysseus, Hades, the god of the Underworld, Athena, the goddess of wisdom, justice, war,
civilization, and peace, and Hermes, the god of mischief, who saves Odysseus many times but fools
around with him first. (Massa).
Criticism I believe that Homer was criticized for the possible inaccuracy in his stories. Homer was

Temperatures above these levels have been seen to have a direct cytotoxic effect on tumor cells, as
well as healthy cells. Hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapycan be described as a highly
concentrated and heated chemotherapy management, which is directly administered to into the

  • 5. Gender Roles In Medieval Europe Women in Medieval Europe lived the life one may expect them to live from the 5th and 15th centuries. We know today that women are treated equal compared to men (in most cases), and we also know that Women were not always given the freedoms that they have today. This was no different in Medieval Europe during these times. Women were expected to hold jobs in which they took care of children and tended the household, occasionally helping their husbands with crops during the busy part of the planting year (bl.uk). Also as we would expect, men had complete power and say in the relationship (wikipedia.org). Women lived a lot more different back in Medieval times than they do today, but it was their lifestyle, and they did what society asked of them, whether they wanted to or not. Women and their families often grew up in rural areas, making most of their money and living from the land they would tend, and the crops they grew (bl.uk). Spinal Cord Protection Strategies for Thoracic Endovascular Aneurysm Repair With an incidence once as high as 40%, spinal cord paralysis in thoracoabominal procedures has declined, however, still remains a devastating threat post surgery (Roman, Grewal, Taylor, Grigore, 2014). Modern techniques for repair of thoracic aneurysms and dissections include an open incision with extracorporeal bypass and aortic clamping. This surgical procedure puts patients at great risk for spinal cord paralysis. Open procedures required meticulous reimplantation of intercostal blood vessels, deep hypothermic cardiac arrest, epidural cooling, and various pharmacologic interventions. As surgical technique has advanced to percutaneous endograft repair, most of these techniques are no longer needed. However, the incidence of paralysis is still prevalent in patients having a TEVAR procedure. Naloxone, an opioid antagonist, has been studied as an additional pharmacologic adjunct in the prevention of spinal cord paralysis (Roman, Grewal, Taylor, Grigore, 2014). Spinal cord injury can be multifactorial and a review of the literature indicates for patients undergoing endovascular repair of thoracic aneurysms, the use of multiple spinal cord protection strategies collectively reduce spinal cord injury compared to the use of naloxone as a primary measure. • 26. Evidence Led Crime Reduction Project Evidence Led Crime Reduction Project to Reduce Shoplifting Shoplifting, once described as something committed by individuals who are too afraid to take other criminal risks (Egan Taylor, 2010); is a widespread problem across England and Wales, which is slowly becoming known as a common method of consumer product acquisition (Cox, Cox Moschis 1990). There has been many methods introduced in order to tackle this growing issue, yet there is a lack of official crime reduction guidelines to allow an effective and unanimous approach towards the successful reduction of shoplifting. The scale of shoplifting in the United Kingdom in the past few years has changed to worrying levels, this is also true of the scope of shoplifting as well. The Office of National Statistics have reported 321,008 police recorded shoplifting incidents from April 2013 to March 2014 (See Statistics 2010,), along with this articles have shown 34 of policed forces across the UK have presented a 6% increase in shoplifting (Pidd Collier, 2014). Such academics as Klemke (1978) have claimed that shoplifting significantly reduces with age (See Egan Taylor, 2010), it seems to be a so called hobby that is popular amongst the younger generations, particularly adolescents. Furthermore, official government crime statistics have shown that shoplifting rates were around three times higher in urban and city areas than in rural areas with supermarkets experiencing shoplifting more than other retailers (Home ... Packet Inspection Using a Hierarchical Pattern Matching Algorithm T. .Mukthar Ahamed Academic Consultant Dept. of CSE YSR Engineering College of YVU Proddatur, India tmukthar@gmail.com Abstract: Detection engines capable of inspecting packet payloads for application layer network information are urgently required. The most important technology for fast payload inspection is an efficient multipattern matching algorithm, which performs exact string matching between packets and a large set of predefined patterns. This paper proposes a novel Enhanced Hierarchical Multipattern Matching Algorithm (EHMA) for packet inspection. Based on the occurrence frequency of grams, a small set of the most frequent grams is discovered and used in the EHMA. EHMA is a two tier and cluster wise matching algorithm, which significantly reduces the amount of external memory accesses and the capacity of memory. Using a skippable scan strategy, EHMA speeds up the scanning process. Furthermore, independent of parallel and special functions, EHMA is very simple and therefore practical for both software and hardware implementations. Simulation results reveal that EHMA significantly improves the matching performance. The speed of EHMA is about 0.89 1,161 times faster than that of current matching algorithms. Even under real life intense attack, EHMA still performs well. Index Terms Inspection, Detection, pattern matching, network security, signatures. 1. Introduction: A variety of ... Society is still suffering from the after effects of slavery. Although, we as a society are looked at as all human beings with the same life value, it is not that simple. The efforts for everyone to be equal has made a tremendous improvement it still has not made enough to say that we are all equal in society. Society has made it very clear about how they feel about the African American and Hispanic community. The media, television, education are very stereotypical on the inferior communities. • 32. The Tragic Characters Of Sophocles Antigone In literature, a tragedy is a drama where the main character in the end suffers extreme sorrow because of their mistakes or poor judgment. If characters fates are to suffer the extreme sorrows, then these characters are tragic characters. These tragic characters, however, must follow Aristotle s principles which include hamartia, hubris, peripeteia, anagnorisis, nemesis, and catharsis. If the character has all six of Aristotle s principles, then the character can qualify as an Aristotelian tragic character. Two examples of Aristotelian tragic characters are from Sophocles Greek play Antigone from the trilogy dealing with Oedipusand his children (Oedipus Rex, Oedipus at Colonus, and Antigone). The two Aristotelian tragic characters are Creon, the king of Thebes in Antigone, and Antigone herself. Creon s hamartia, his flaw that causes his downfall, includes his stubbornness which causes him to not listen to the opinions of others, including Tiresias, additionally, this also connects to hubris since he also did this because of his pride. In Antigone, Creon is an Aristotelian tragic character. His six principles are more obvious to the reader. Tiresias tries to warn Creon as to what will come if he doesn t change his ways now, but he ignores Tiresias even though he is a prophet. Creon says Tiresias sold his wisdom and lets out his words for hire (Sophocles 837). This means that Creon thinks that Tiresias has come to say these things to him because someone pays Tiresias ... His plays were all comedies, which usually addressed very serious political and social issues in a direct and crude manner, which, like much of today s comedy, is what made them funny for the audience to watch and appreciate. Many of the comedies would even go as far as mocking members of the audience or making personal attacks upon contemporary political personalities. Since negotiations failed, the Athenians sent troops into the region by ship. Many think that the appeal of rap music, commonly portrayed with blatant sex, gratuitous violence, countless firearms, copious amounts of drugs, and stacks of seemingly endless money, is somewhat irrelevant or foolish. But you can t ignore the fact that many other genres of music do the same thing. Many old rock and roll songs referenced illegal drugs, other rock songs frequently refer to violence and other crimes of the sort, and modern pop frequently talks about love, sometimes in a very explicit way. Even some operas and classical compositions were written to portray the stories of star crossed lovers, killing everyone who tried to refute their love. But hip hop can be more than this. While many Azeris admit to maintaining cultural bonds with their brethren in the Republic of Azerbaijan, such ties do not translate into aspirations to separate from a state in which they already exercise tremendous influence, with many of them occupying high level government positions. The demands of the Azeri minority remain quite modest, focusing primarily on the expansion of cultural freedoms. For instance, local control over Azeri language broadcasting, representation in local government, and the promotion of the Azeri language at all levels of education, including the university level.
