The Theory Of Nursing Care
Nursing care through theory has continual made changes to provide the best care for patients across
the spectrum. From nursing models, to concepts, to evidence based practices that have stemmed from
theories, nursing care advances have come a long way. Theories have been the fundaments of nursing
to help nurses provide efficient care through structure , unity , assessing, planning, and implementing
interventions (White Zaccagnini, 2014).This paper will discuss how theories have guided patient
centered care in helping decrease infections in cancer who have central lines that developed
chemotherapy induced neutropenia.
There have been many advances in oncology care; unfortunately infections from healthcare settings
and the community are a major cause of hospitalizations and death in patients receiving chemotherapy
treatment via central lines. As healthcare providers, preventing infection with patients who develop
chemotherapy induced neutropenia can significantly decrease mortality and morbidity for patients
with cancer (Bush, Davis, Friese, Gillespie, Nirenberg, Rice, 2009). Oncology nurses play a vital role
in educating other healthcare providers, patients and family members, on chemotherapy side effect
with patients who are neutropenic, especially handling the central line.
Fawcett described four core concepts common to the individual paradigms, patient environment health
nursing, that were derived from existing nursing theories (Fawcett, 1984). The concept of the

tinuous with thoroughfare channel (intermediate between capillary and venule)
Thoroughfare channel ( postcapillary venule that drains bed
Capillary Beds: Two Types of Vessels
Vascular shunt (metarteriole thoroughfare channel)
Directly connects terminal arteriole and postcapillary venule
True capillaries
10 to 100 exchange vessels per capillary bed
Branch off metarteriole or terminal arteriole
Blood Flow Through Capillary Beds
True capillaries normally branch from metarteriole and return to thoroughfare channel
Precapillary sphincters regulate blood flow into true capillaries
Blood may go into true capillaries or to shunt
Regulated by local chemical conditions and vasomotor nerves
Venous System: Venules
Formed when capillary beds unite
Smallest postcapillary venules
Very porous; allow fluids and WBCs into tissues
Consist of endothelium and a few pericytes
Larger venules have one or two layers of smooth muscle cells
Veins
Formed when venules converge
Have thinner walls, larger lumens compared with corresponding arteries
Blood pressure lower than in arteries
Thin tunica media; thick tunica externa of collagen fibers and elastic networks
Called capacitance vessels (blood reservoirs); contain up to 65% of blood supply
Veins
Adaptations ensure return of blood to heart

Examples Of Social Stratification In The Media
How Social Stratification is Portrayed by the Media
Malcolm Little, or as he s better known as Malcolm X, once stated, The media s the most powerful
entity on earth. They have the power to make the innocent guilty and to make the guilty innocent, and
that s power. Because they control the minds of the masses (Citation). What Malcolm X said is true;
the media does have a control on the people s minds. The media has a big impact on how we think and
feel about everything in our lives. For example, with this type of control the media has caused people
to developed stereotypes about the social classes and the people within them. Upper class

The biggest effect media has on women is how the view their looks. Several different TV shows,
songs, magazines, and commercials focus heavily on how women supposedly obsess over their looks.
This can be seen all throughout the Gilmore Girls series, for Emily Gilmore is constantly obsessed
over how her and her family looks (Citation). Also, the media shows people that women can be catty
with each other. A really good example of this can be seen in the Real Housewives of New Jersey.
This show constantly shows how women are supposedly catty with each other by showing them
arguing and fighting constantly (Citation). Another thing the media s view portrays is how hard of the
time women have will trying to balance their personal life and their work life. This can be seen
throughout the Gilmore Girls series. Lorelai Gilmore, one of the main characters in the series, can be
seen having trouble balancing her personal life and her work life (Citation). These stereotypes can
negatively affect women personally, for these can determine whether a woman can get the job she
wants, whether or not she gets a promotion, or even how much they are

Illusions and Realities in Ibsen’s Plays The Wild Duck...
Illusions and Realities in Ibsen s Plays The Wild Duck and Ghosts
In Ibsen s The Wild Duck, illusions and reality are set into a conflict within the story of a son s
personal desire to confront idealism. Throughout much of the play, the son, Greger, argues the value of
truth with the reluctant Dr. Relling. Relling insists on the importance of illusions, but fails to
discourage Greger s intentions and a play that begins as a comedy quickly turns into a tragedy because
of these conflicts. At the heart of the illusions in this play are the ways that people assume many roles
in a family, impersonating multiple ideals as ways for managing their relationships. This theme of
impersonation is also developed in Ibsen s Ghosts, where ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Within the ordinary lives of the families in Ghosts and The Wild Duck are tales of infidelity,
corruption, greed, lust, disease, and other afflictions that characterize family secrets. For example, in
Ghosts, the mother, Mrs. Alving, reveals the ways she has protected her son Oswald from the truths of
her unhappy marriage. She tells her friend and priest, Manders, ...Yes, I was always swayed by duty
and consideration for others; that was why I lied to my son, year in and year out. Oh, what a coward I
have been (315).
Manders responds, You have built up a happy illusion in your son s mind, Mrs. Alving and that is a
thing you certainly ought not to undervalue, (315) echoing Dr. Relling s belief that illusions are
sometimes more than a question of reality. In both plays, the deeper questions are about whose reality
matters, and who may determine another person s reality.
Relling accuses Greger of having a plague of ...integrity fever; and then what s worse you are always
in a delirium of hero worship; you must always have something to adore, outside yourself, which
Greger agrees to, without considering the consequences of this claim (297). In fact, Greger s certainty
about the dangers of illusions provokes the young Hedvig into an emotional despair, and she kills
herself. The issues presented in this play are not about what is true, or false, but about the ways people
build their lives on the past. Hedvig s father, Hialmar,

Sports Complex ( Bsc )
Mark Lauber, a Wharton School of Business graduate, founded Branchburg Sports Complex (BSC) in
2008 after selling his and his father s previous venture to another company. As a lover of sports and
family entertainment destinations such as Disney Land, Mark envisioned bringing the wow factor that
these world renowned destinations possess to the realm of sports centers. BSC is a 78,000 square foot
facility consisting of four indoor turf fields, basketball courts, training center, multi level PlayMaze,
arcade with redemption center, batting cages, and a three floor 9,000 square foot interactive fantasy
themed laser tag arena. Advertising fun and excitement for the whole family, Mark truly provides
activities for all demographics. He ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The warehouse that Mark had sold off when he sold his previous company was still for sale after
being on the market for two years and having over $2M spent on getting it ready for sale. Since Mark
had an existing relationship with the landlord, the real estate market was at a record low, and Mark
didn t have to take a loan since he still had the cash from his previous venture. The landlord was
asking $9/square foot, tempting Mark to make the same mistake that the competition made. Instead of
accepting it and falling into the trap, Mark did extensive research on the town and comps in the area
and felt confident offering $4.50/square foot in four consecutive five year leases starting at $4, then
$4.25, all the way to $5 thus freeing up more working capital for the launch of his business. Mark s
homework on his timing paid off and locked down the warehouse he previously owned but for his new
venture.
Mark proceeded to hire consultants who specialized in sport center business start ups with his extra
working capital. They had never advised the start ups including a wow factor such as laser tag or an
arcade until they met Mark. Now every client who uses this firm is advised to diversify their market
by including the wow factor. The consultants conducted a feasibility test which gave Mark a report
consisting of the amount of children, adults, schools, competitors, and other factors in the region he

The Monster As A Character In Frankenstein
The Frankenstein that Mary Shelley wrote about changed the perception of the story that was told to
me when I was growing up and saw on television. Throughout my childhood, Frankenstein was
depicted as a stiff, giant, clumsy monster with a hideous face, scarred green body and with plugs
protruding from his neck. Upon reading Frankenstein, I started to view him not as a monster but as
someone who was born into a tragic life full of hardships due to his appearance and not his
personality. The deeper the reader ventures into the book, the more it seems like the creature is
punished for being created, and you start to feel sympathy for the monster. During the Romantic Era,
authors started to make the readers feel compassion for the characters to help engage the readers
emotionally to the story they were reading. The monster in the novel is one example of a character that
the readers would feel compassion. The book begins with the story of a sailor named Robert Walton as
he looks for a new passage through the Arctic and relays the tale of his adventure in letters he writes to
his sister. Sailing one day, the crew discovers a man nearly frozen to death along with his dead dog
sled team on the edge of the ice around their ship. Robert commands that the stranger be taken aboard
ship and placed in his cabin for him to treat. When the outsider comes around, Robert learns that the
newcomer s name is Frankenstein. While Frankenstein recovers from the effects of exposure, Robert

Game Theory and Profit
Chapter 11 Consider two firms facing the demand curve P = 50 5Q, where Q = Q1 + Q2. The firms
cost functions are C1(Q1) = 20 + 10Q1 and C2(Q2) = 10 + 12Q2. a. Suppose both firms have entered
the industry. What is the joint profit maximizing level of output? How much will each firm produce?
How would your answer change if the firms have not yet entered the industry? If both firms enter the
market, and they collude, they will face a marginal revenue curve with twice the slope of the demand
curve: MR = 50 10Q. Setting marginal revenue equal to marginal cost (the marginal cost of Firm 1,
since it is lower than that of Firm 2) to determine the profit maximizing quantity, Q: 50 10Q = 10, or
Q = 4. Substituting Q = ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also calculate its profits. The monopolist wants to choose quantity to maximize its profits: max = PQ
C(Q), = (53 Q)(Q) 5Q, or = 48Q Q2. To determine the profit maximizing quantity, set the change in
with respect to the change in Q equal to zero and solve for Q: Substitute the profit maximizing
quantity, Q = 24, into the demand function to find price: 24 = 53 P, or P = $29. Profits are equal to =
TR TC = (29)(24) (5)(24) = $576. b. Suppose a second firm enters the market. Let Q1 be the output of
the first firm and Q2 be the output of the second. Market demand is now given by Q1 + Q2 = 53 P.
Assuming that this second firm has the same costs as the first, write the profits of each firm as
functions of Q1 and Q2. When the second firm enters, price can be written as a function of the output
of two firms: P = 53 Q1 Q2. We may write the profit functions for the two firms: or and or c. Suppose
(as in the Cournot model) that each firm chooses its profit maximizing level of output on the
assumption that its competitor s output is fixed. Find each firm s reaction curve (i.e., the rule that
gives its desired output in terms of its competitor s output). Under the Cournot assumption, Firm 1
treats the output of Firm 2 as a constant in its maximization of profits. Therefore, Firm 1 chooses Q1
to maximize 1 in b with Q2 being treated as a constant.

Commerce Is Creating Wealth For Society
The among the many functions of commerce is creating wealth for society. However, it is questionable
if the firm in Margin Call follows through with its role acting in the interests of society in its bleak
predicament. Once it is revealed that there is a high probability of the firm being devalued beyond
market capitalization, the employees of an unnamed company attempt to formulate a solution to the
imminent crisis. Although there is some dissent from Sam Rogers, Head of Sales and Trading, CEO
Tuld promptly decides to liquidate the firm s toxic assets onto the market. Despite the unanimous
direction the firm moves in, there are various sources of internal tensions between the firm s
employees in that they individually represent differing perspectives within the social context of the
firm. Through the various rationales the executives possess as well as the relationships between the
employees and the firm itself, Margin Call illustrates the conviction that although the role of
commerce is to engender a certain lifestyle for the public, the executives in the firm have warped this
belief into a justification for the extreme measures they lead the firm to take in the name of their profit
and their survival. In the first scene of Margin Call, the social hierarchy of the firm is staunchly
established as Will himself is nonchalant about the layoff because he holds a relatively senior position
in the firm and it s evident that he has survived through other layoffs. In

Emancipation Proclamation Dbq
The Emancipation Proclamation was presidential executive order given by Abraham Lincoln on
January 1, 1963. It changed the Federal legal status of enslaved people in the South from slave to free.
This proclamation ordered all ten states to free slaves. This proclamation excluded areas not in the
rebellion. The reason these areas were excluded is because the proclamation was issued under the
president s authority to suppress rebellion and it was not passed by Congress as a law. The Southern
Confederate supporters were given sixty days to surrender their slaves or they would face confiscation
of their land and slaves. This proclamation did not ban slavery or grant citizenship to ex slaves. It was
intended to cripple the Confederacy. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Naomi Shihab Nye Essay
In the book Habibi, by Naomi Shihab Nye, there are many ways that the author expresses her feelings
of identity through the main character, Liyana. The main forms of identity are ethnicity, religion, and
age. These all affect the way that people look at you and judge you. In Habibi, Liyana is judged by her
age, religion, and ethnicity. This is also part of why moving to a different country is hard for Liyana;
people in Jerusalem judge your identity differently. However, Liyana does not let the comments of
others change her. She still stays true to her own opinion of her ethnicity, age, and religion throughout
the novel. This helps her settle the many internal and external disputes associated with living in a new
country with a different part ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First, Liyana must discover what she believes her ethnicity is. Ethnicity is the association with a
certain social group with similar beliefs or cultures. However, Liyana is a mix of two parents from
different ethnicities. This makes Liyana what Americans call a half and half , and what Arabs call nos
nos . However, Liyana does not quite consider herself exactly half of one ethnicity and half of the
other. In the novel, Liyana discovers many different parts to the Arabic culture that she enjoys and
other parts to her American culture that she does not. This does not mean that Liyana is more Arabic
than American, but shows how Liyana is a holder of many different cultures and ethnicities. However,
many people in Jerusalem judge based on ethnicity. An example of this was when a Jewish stranger
told Liyana not to associate with an Indian spice vendor named Bassam. This shows that many people
discriminate and are mean to people of different cultures. Age is another part of Liyana s identity that
she must accept in order to adapt in Jerusalem. Age can show knowledge and can mark the points of a
more mature person. However, age shows mostly the amount of experiences one person has

Negative Aspects Of Social Media
Every night Charlene texts her best friend who she usually talks to all day. Charlene just downloaded
the new version of IOS 9 on her brand new iPhone 8; a leather case, new screen protector, and front
facing camera were included to ensure all her virtual communication needs. Unfortunately, the blue
pine at the front of her house snapped as forty miles an hour wind rushed from the north. The
magnificent beast slowly descended onto the electric power line, which caused a blackout within
every house on the block. Lights go out and nobody can communicate except the family members in
that household; however, without the social media realm, Charlene finds herself crying, not from the
darkness, but the loneliness that encircles her. Isolation becomes an extremely possible realization
because of the constant virtual communication. As hundreds of millions of smart phones create an
online social network, there may be disturbances happening within the offline physical world. Most
teens and adolescents are increasingly involved with the digital universe; this creates problematic
barriers. Growth of an individual depends on many specific factors in daily life. Negative aspects of
media, including change in physical well being, social skills, and brain development ultimately create
a decreased quality of life for the user. Life continues to be influenced by social media on a daily

Do the other minority ethnic or religious groups living in India see themselves as a distinctive and
separate group that would rather form their own nation? Furthermore, I am interested in learning more
about how India is able to function despite having such a diverse ethnic and religious make up. The
British encouraged a divide between Indian Muslims and Indian Hindus. The British needed these two
religious groups to be divided in order to keep their control. They wanted citizens to identify
themselves through their religion, not as Indians. By keeping India divided, Britain would be able to
remain in control. If Britain had encouraged cohesion and unity, would this have helped bridge the gap
between these two religious groups? For example, the Great Calcutta Killings of 1946, could this
event been avoided? The Great Calcutta Killings remind me of what happened in Rwanda in 1994. A
conflict in which people who were once neighbours were killing each other for belonging to a
different religious or ethnic group. Both situations resulted in a bloody massacre of innocent people
and the complete disregard of human life. In both cases people associated their identity with religion

Killings were gruesome and unsettling to hear about. The atrocities that occurred were horrible and it

Environmental Determinism In Ancient Greece
Environmental determinism essentially means where you live has a direct correlation with how you
live. Countries that need to focus on hunting and gathering cannot focus on other aspects of their
society like military power, religion, technology and education. Geographic luck is another factor of
environmental determinism. Geographic luck means that people have strong advantages to their lives
because of where they currently live. Environmental determinism allowed countries to grow their
military power and allowed them to enhance their weaponry, which was shown during the
Peloponnesian War, the Punic Wars and the Viking Invasions. During the period of Ancient Greece,
the Peloponnesian War showed military changes because of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The city state of Syracuse in Sicily was allied with Sparta and when they attacked a tribe called the
Leontini, Cleon chose to help fight back. He chose to fight against Syracuse for the reason that he
wanted to weaken the Spartans because their grain supply came from Syracuse. The Spartans used
Cleon s over aggressiveness against him, by setting up a Spartan colony named Heraclea right near
Athens. This forced Athens to make a decision of sending its troops to Syracuse and getting attacked
in Athens, or not attacking Syracuse altogether. This goes back to environmental determinism again,
because generals such as Brasidas of Sparta was able to come up with this plan, because the Spartans
had a growing and strong enough colony that they did not need to focus on hunting and gathering and
could focus on military matters. Focusing on military matters helped the Spartans again when the
Athenians attacked the city state Boetia. This was important for the Athenians, because Boetia was a

Theme Of The Rose That Grew From Concrete
Imagine you were attempting to succeed overcome challenges in your life. In the two text The Rose
that Grew from Concrete and Mother to Son. It explains how life can be hard for anyone. The poem
The Rose that Grew from Concrete is about how life is not easy and the poem Mother to Son is about
how life is not easy for everyone. Both poems share the theme of there is no easy way in life, but they
way the authors developed the theme was similar and different.
First, the poem The Rose that Grew from concrete uses Figurative Language and Symbols to develop
the theme of there is no easy way in life. First, the author uses Figurative Language to develop the
theme by showing us that the Rose can walk without having feet. It says, it learned to walk without
having feet. The author uses Figurative Language to develop the theme of there is no easy way in life
because the author is giving the rose human like features, like walking. This shows the theme because
the author described that the rose was walking without having feet. Second of all, the author uses
characterization to develop the theme by showing us that the mother is telling her son to persevere
through life because it is not easy. She is also telling him that her life is not easy. It says in the text
And boards torn up, And places with no carpet on the floor. This proves which somehow she needed
to step over to arrive where she stands now. This shows the author used Symbols to develop the theme
of there is no easy way in life because the rose symbolises hope and to never give up on your dreams.
This is important to notice because the rose represents his dreams. To sum up, the author revealed the
theme through Figurative Language and Symbolism which develops the theme there is no easy way in
life.
The Poem Mother to Son uses Figurative Language and Characterization this develops the theme of
there is no easy way in life. To begin, the author uses Figurative Language to develop the theme by
showing us that the stairs represent the mother s life. It says Life for me ain t been no crystal stair.Life
for me ain t been no crystal stair. This means her her life has not been easy that is what the stair stands
for. The author uses figurative

Oil Spills Caused By Offshore Drilling Essay
Oils spills caused by offshore drilling in California (Santa Barbara)
Introduction:
This paper is about the effects of offshore drilling particularly it discusses oil spills caused by offshore
drilling in California . These oil spills that are caused by offshore drilling affect the environment in the
long run. Even some of these impacts on the environment by oil spills last for decades (Larry West).
For example when an oil slick arrives at the beach from a huge oil spill then it sticks to each grain of
the sand and every rock. So if this oil is absorbed by the forests or fibrous plants etc. then it can make
the whole area unsuitable for wildlife. Moreover if this oil spills stops and sinks in the surface of the
water then these oil spills damage the fragile ecosystems under water and can prove extremely
dangerous to marine life (Jennifer Horton). The infrastructure that is needed to transport offshore oil
and drill wells is destroying. The series of walls can lead to erosion. The companies should not be
allowed for offshore drilling because of its negative impacts. There are many issues regarding offshore
drilling. For example if there is an accident then it can paralyze the economy because it prohibits the
people from fishing (Jennifer Horton). Moreover as these oil spills are extremely dangerous for the
wildlife so as a result of these oil spills people are prevented from fishing. But fishing is mainly huge
source of income for many local areas. So in this way

Friendship In The Chosen, The Quarrel, And On Friendship
There are many ideas and opinions on the nature of friendship, but there are characteristics that texts
and films have in common that contribute to the overall nature of friendship. From these texts it is
noted that friendship is determined and shaped through our culture, beliefs, societies and our
experiences. This can be seen through many texts and films, more specifically in The Chosen, David
and Jonathan , The Quarrel, and On Friendship .
In The Chosen the friendship between Danny and Reuven was hard to form because of their two
different backgrounds and beliefs but they managed to overcome this and form a strong connection
with one another. The fact that Danny grew up in a Hasidic Jewish society made it harder for him to

First off, after the Holocaust, when Hersh and Chaim are reunited they begin to discuss things that
were left unresolved before the tragic experience of the Holocaust. As they are talking they soon
realize that they have different views on God after the Holocaust. Hersh remains faithful to God, but
Chaim is left with resentment and hatred towards God. God chose us. Hersh tells Chaim but Chaim

in God causes a rift between them and their friendship, but they are soon able to resolve their
problems and patch up their friendship. In addition to that, their experiences at the Yeshiva before the
Holocaust shaped their friendship. Chaim started to break away from tradition and wanted to become

Chaim and Hersh s friendship because Chaim needed support from Hersh in his decision, but Hersh

More specifically, this advertisement featured in Men s Health magazine from March of 2015, shows a
full back cover dedicated to LA Muscle. This company sells a large merchandise line of dietary
supplements and workout enhancing products appealing to males ages 16 40. Starring in this ad is
their Gold LA Whey Protein. Their ads have been known to catch readers off guard and steal their
attention from the actual magazine. With the sophisticated text, colors, and images, this ad hits Men s
Health readers with intimidation, current trends, and image coaxing them into purchasing their over
priced, no guarantee product. First off, LA Muscle immediately grabs the readers attention by
rhetorically asking, Protein is protein, right? WRONG. This statement is meant to make readers
question whether or not the protein they currently use compares to the one that is being marketed to
them. The word WRONG is boldly printed, to intimidate readers and make them second guess
themselves for thinking all protein is the same. The strong emphasis on this word quickly grabs the
readers attention. Even those readers who have done their research about their supplements may be
swayed into thinking that their opinion on the most beneficial protein could not be correct. This tactic
works

the video Swing Thing people thought said Swing was labeled as dangerous music white adults
thought that it made you have sex with people. Swing has thrown up some of the most iconic stars of
the 20th century. With people like Benny Goodman, Louis Armstrong, and George Gershwin, this

that only has the purpose of calling the addTabItem .
A constructor defined as The constructor is a special method of the class, which is called automatically

constructor has no type of returned value and its name is not random, and mandatorily coincides with

Figure 15 show the first tab populated by two channels. Figure 16 shows a separate tab populated by
one separate channel.
The second option was chosen for several reasons. Having only one chart control makes the program a
good deal easier to follow for someone editing. It is also found to take less processing power to redraw
the same chart as opposed to having many run at the same time.
The channels are saved in each tab item but these channels are needed in the SamRunJobCtrl . The
channels are processed in that control and are used only there to create the data in the chart. In
SamRunJobCtrl the channels are written as _listVisChannels. These _listVisChannels need to be
updated every time. This is necessary to have two separate lists getting passed back and forth because
the _listVisChannels are updated when one of the pre defined buttons Add , Remove or Remove All
are called. Essentially when the user add or removed a channel, the SamRunJobCtrl informs the
TabChartCtrl of the change so that it can save the new channel. When the tab is changed, the
TabChartCtrl searched what channels are associated with the selected tab and passes it to the
SamRunJobCtrl so that it can write the _listVisChannels to the chart. This process is demonstrated by
figure 17. Figure 17 Channel Flow Chart

All Breed Dog Grooming Tip #1 Handling and Preparation
No doubt, it s cheaper to do at home dog grooming than it is to go to a groomer. Here are the

Flimsy clippers break too easily. As for the muzzle, your dog may mouth you the first few times
before he gets used to the process.
It s best to have started clipping your dog s nails when he was a pup. But if it s too late, start playing
with your dog s feet gently so that he s not terrified when you try to use the clippers.
For the first few times you clip his nails, only trim a tiny bit of nail off so he gets used to the process.
Try to trim his nails every six to ten weeks. If your dog goes outside a lot, the pavement actually keeps
the nails at a decent length. But if your dog stays indoors, you ll have to clip them every 4 to six
weeks.
DO NOT cut into the live part of the nail. Your dog will be in agony! The live part is wear you see the
nail starting to turn pink. Also you can tell the live part by the differing texture and color of his nails.
Don t forget to trim the pointed end of the declaw (that s the dog s thumb).
When in doubt, you can always ask your vet or groomer to show you how to trim your dog s nails.

Crime Is The Strongest Factor Of Criminology
Criminal violations are a major issue in today s society; obviously there will be wrongdoings whether
one wants to believe it or not. In any case, does that imply that individuals are all bound to perpetrate
wrongdoings in the event that they are related to a criminal, in someway? Although there continues to
be a multitude of beings that believe crime is biologically determined, no human s are exactly alike in
decisions; Hence criminal behaviors are not biologically determined. By recognizing that human
behavior is influenced by many factors, by refuting counterarguments that the so called root of the
crime is the biological mindset as a child one will discover this theory will inevitably fall short. By
presenting sound arguments, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Due to this, human s are not born greedy entrepreneurs just like how one will not be born a disgraceful
sinner. One is not born to commit white collar crimes or to commit murder. Nevertheless, the
environment may influence a murderer, yet this all revolves around free will not genetics. There is no
doubt that insidiousness develops from the non appearance of sympathy as a mere child. Biology
conducts the biological qualities that a tyke needs to become a killer . However, there is a tremendous
contrast between the way someone is raised and their biological qualities. The saying, like father, like
son, or like mother, like daughter (Monk pg 16) according to experts means that, criminal traits must
be genetic since so many criminals have relatives who are also criminals (Monk pg 16). Somewhere
along the lines in families one has relatives who have done wrongdoings whether it be something
detestable or something small, so the explanation of criminals being genetic is absolutely obscure.
Experts also argue that wrongdoers, attribute biologically flawed genes, physiological deficiencies,
and other inherited defects (Monk pg 16). All intellects inherent deficiencies, yet beings declare young
children future murderers for having a defect. Some widely acclaimed pioneers had inadequacies from
leaders like Albert Einstein (autism) or Isaac Newton (bipolar disorder)

Persuasive Essay About Teen Pregnancy
Teen pregnancy......what comes in mind when you hear the words Teen Pregnancy ? Well, teen
pregnancy are young female girls that become pregnant under the age of 20. A female can become
pregnant from having sexual intercourse and after she have started to ovulate. Young female girls will
become pregnant without even thinking about the consequences and the type of environment the baby
will be in. Not because the young mother is poor or rich, but because they re not ready to take care of
another human being. Not to mention, pregnant teens are young themselves, so their also growing.
There are plenty of problems that are the cause of teen pregnancy, and many of those problems can be
solved.
One reason for teen pregnancy is the lack of information that is given to students in middle and high
school about sex and how to prevent it from happening. Also, the lack amount of talks from parents
that they can give to their teen. I wouldn t say there isn t any education given out to students about
sex, but there isn t ENOUGH to make pre teens and teens to fully understand and have the right mind
set about sex. Many schools won t really focus on the topic about teen pregnancy because it really
doesn t have much about academics and that s really understandable, but at the end of the day teens
are also human and do make mistakes. I believe schools should give education about teen pregnancy
as much as the other subjects. The topic of teen pregnancy shouldn t be left out because talking to
your teen about sex can definitely influence their lifestyle. Many teens would learn about sex in the
streets which it totally horrible because 9/10, the streets will educate them to have sex rather than not
to. The solution to this problem is that parents and schools should educate their teens/students with
more education about teen pregnancy, so that the number pregnant teens can decrease in near future.
Another reason for teen pregnancy is social media. Social media can have a huge impact on how teens
can view their lives by influencing them with a different kind of lifestyle. Not to mention, teens can
easily be brainwashed by what they see on there and think what they see on social media is good, is
actually wrong. Social media will have

Prostitute, A Servant, By Carmen R. Luo-Lugo
Ever since the election in 2016 in which Donald Trump won presidency in the United States, certain
individuals have been very comfortable in letting their opinionated stereotypes come out into the
world, in some places where they are not wanted. These stereotypes and prejudices exist against all
minority races: that they are lazy, not hard working, cannot speak our language, amongst other things.
It is now a common occurrence to come across a video on the internet of racists yelling at these
minority people for being in this country and other senseless reasons. These stereotypes, however,
have existed long before the time of Donald Trump being sworn into office, and people have been
fighting them the entire time. Latina professor and author Carmen R ... Show more content on

The Role Of Melting Pot In America
In America there are a multitude of people that live, and are even more people migrating by the years.
Back in the earlier years of American society, the country probably would have been considered a
melting pot by most people, as the years gone by the technology, the people, and the country as a
whole has evolved becoming more diverse, making it more of a tossed salad. A few of the many things
that have been diversified in this country are the amount of races living here, the different religions,
and also the plethora of type s food. First, with the amounts of races that the United States has, many
people would likely refer it as a melting pot. While regarding the amount of races that are making a
living and or moving to the United States; I could be here all day trying to list them all. But a few of
the races are; Caucasian, African American, Mexican, Japanese, Chinese, Canadian, and many more
that migrate from all corners of the world. Now with all of these races together in working toward a
common goal, people would think that as a melting pot. I believe if looking closer people play many
different roles making it more like a tossed salad. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Ralph Waldo Emerson And Transcendentalism
Religion is a major component in the life of many people with the first practice of religion dating back
to the nearly 4000 BCE with the finding of Egyptian myths (Religion Timeline). As the times have
changed, so has religion branching off from Orthodox Judaism and Protestant Christianity to the
Reformed Judaism and Mormonism have created religious conflicts that churches fought against each
other based on views that they might not agree with. With all churches and members of these churches
participating in challenging their own and other churches, Ralph Waldo Emerson went in a different
path. He led the Transcendentalist movement that believed that the person could find divinity through
nature by keeping an open mind and letting it change them for the good.
Ralph Waldo Emerson was born on May 25, 1803 and died on April 27, 1882. He was born into a
large family being one of eight children to a father, William Emerson, who was a Congregational
minister and his mother Ruth Haskins (Joel). Being born to a father who was a practicing minister in
Boston as well as a family with ancestors who were also ministers and well educated, Ralph Waldo
Emerson was educated for the ministry. As he attended classes and studied the ministerial role, he was
influenced with Calvinistic views and sent to a school in Boston to study these values and graduated
from Boston Latin School in 1817 (Joel). After graduating from this school, he attended Harvard, but

The Unanticipated Train Disaster Of Graniteville And...
Introduction. On 06 January 2005, a cargo train carrying a massive amount of chlorine spilled in
Graniteville, South Carolina creating panic and indeed chaos to both citizens and emergency managers
on how to properly respond to the hazardous materials released from the train wreckage. The people
of the small rural town of Graniteville located just outside of Aiken, South Carolina, where caught in
their sleep when Freight train 192 traveling approximately 47 mph struck other consignments spilling

Thus, being the busiest rail and perhaps the most important for both the residents of Graniteville and
Avondale plant, many trains traveled through the town daily conducting business. Nonetheless, for
successfully deliveries, a switch connecting the spur to the mainline railway had to be manually turned
towards the proper route. Failure to do so called for an eventual accident. Consequently, the train crash
happened as a result of someone forgetting to flip the switch disconnecting the spur from the main
line. Causing Freight Train 192 to divert from its route. Incident Chronology. At approximately 2:39
AM Freight Train 192 traveling at a speed of 47 mph crashed into parked train P22 causing a
dangerous amount of chlorine gas to be release into the atmosphere. Fortunately, the engineers on site
at the time of the accidents were not harm from the crash. Nonetheless, the magnitude of the crash
alerted local residents who immediately called 911 approximately one minute after the crash. Some of
the 911 calls received by the Aiken police department recorded a concerned resident saying bleach gas
smell and smoke on the ground (A.E. Dunning, J Oswalt, 2005, pg. 130). Upon receiving several calls,
the town s emergency departments were on route minutes after being notified. However, when the fire

How Successful Were The Suffragettes
Were the Suffragettes Successful?
The Suffragettes were formed by Emmeline Pankhurst in October of 1903 as the Women s Social and
Political Union (WSPU) and were essentially a new organisation based on the National Union of
Women s Suffrage Societies (NUWSS), whose members were known as Suffragists. The Suffragettes
are famous, or rather infamous, for their use of violence. Their motto was, after all, Deeds not Words .
Historians still argue today as to how successful they were in their own right, whether it was
inevitable for women to get the vote, and, if so, how much of a contribution the Suffragettes really
made. Many argue that it was womens effort in the First World War that made the most difference to
women obtaining the vote in 1918, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Full electoral equality was not in place until the Representation of the People Act 1928. Both the
Suffragettes and the Suffragists celebrated up and down the country; the Act had been achieved after
tireless years of campaigning and four years of filling jobs left by men who went to war which, to
most, undeniably helped to convince Parliament to greater effect than the extreme activities of the
Suffragettes pre WW1. Many agree that the Suffragists efforts also played a very important role,
including Joyce Marlow, women s history writer, who wrote in Votes for Women (2000);
Some would argue including me that it was the moderates of the NUWSS, led by Millicent Fawcett,
who actually won the vote. In 1912, while the militants embarked on arson and bombing, the NUWSS
made a successful working alliance with the growing Labour Party. It was this group which
successfully lobbied for the 1918 Franchise

  • 2. The Theory Of Nursing Care Nursing care through theory has continual made changes to provide the best care for patients across the spectrum. From nursing models, to concepts, to evidence based practices that have stemmed from theories, nursing care advances have come a long way. Theories have been the fundaments of nursing to help nurses provide efficient care through structure , unity , assessing, planning, and implementing interventions (White Zaccagnini, 2014).This paper will discuss how theories have guided patient centered care in helping decrease infections in cancer who have central lines that developed chemotherapy induced neutropenia. There have been many advances in oncology care; unfortunately infections from healthcare settings and the community are a major cause of hospitalizations and death in patients receiving chemotherapy treatment via central lines. As healthcare providers, preventing infection with patients who develop chemotherapy induced neutropenia can significantly decrease mortality and morbidity for patients with cancer (Bush, Davis, Friese, Gillespie, Nirenberg, Rice, 2009). Oncology nurses play a vital role in educating other healthcare providers, patients and family members, on chemotherapy side effect with patients who are neutropenic, especially handling the central line. Fawcett described four core concepts common to the individual paradigms, patient environment health nursing, that were derived from existing nursing theories (Fawcett, 1984). The concept of the ... • 6. Examples Of Social Stratification In The Media How Social Stratification is Portrayed by the Media Malcolm Little, or as he s better known as Malcolm X, once stated, The media s the most powerful entity on earth. They have the power to make the innocent guilty and to make the guilty innocent, and that s power. Because they control the minds of the masses (Citation). What Malcolm X said is true; the media does have a control on the people s minds. The media has a big impact on how we think and feel about everything in our lives. For example, with this type of control the media has caused people to developed stereotypes about the social classes and the people within them. Upper class Through the media, the people of the upper class ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The biggest effect media has on women is how the view their looks. Several different TV shows, songs, magazines, and commercials focus heavily on how women supposedly obsess over their looks. This can be seen all throughout the Gilmore Girls series, for Emily Gilmore is constantly obsessed over how her and her family looks (Citation). Also, the media shows people that women can be catty with each other. A really good example of this can be seen in the Real Housewives of New Jersey. This show constantly shows how women are supposedly catty with each other by showing them arguing and fighting constantly (Citation). Another thing the media s view portrays is how hard of the time women have will trying to balance their personal life and their work life. This can be seen throughout the Gilmore Girls series. Lorelai Gilmore, one of the main characters in the series, can be seen having trouble balancing her personal life and her work life (Citation). These stereotypes can negatively affect women personally, for these can determine whether a woman can get the job she wants, whether or not she gets a promotion, or even how much they are ... • 7. Illusions and Realities in Ibsen’s Plays The Wild Duck... Illusions and Realities in Ibsen s Plays The Wild Duck and Ghosts In Ibsen s The Wild Duck, illusions and reality are set into a conflict within the story of a son s personal desire to confront idealism. Throughout much of the play, the son, Greger, argues the value of truth with the reluctant Dr. Relling. Relling insists on the importance of illusions, but fails to discourage Greger s intentions and a play that begins as a comedy quickly turns into a tragedy because of these conflicts. At the heart of the illusions in this play are the ways that people assume many roles in a family, impersonating multiple ideals as ways for managing their relationships. This theme of impersonation is also developed in Ibsen s Ghosts, where ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Within the ordinary lives of the families in Ghosts and The Wild Duck are tales of infidelity, corruption, greed, lust, disease, and other afflictions that characterize family secrets. For example, in Ghosts, the mother, Mrs. Alving, reveals the ways she has protected her son Oswald from the truths of her unhappy marriage. She tells her friend and priest, Manders, ...Yes, I was always swayed by duty and consideration for others; that was why I lied to my son, year in and year out. Oh, what a coward I have been (315). Manders responds, You have built up a happy illusion in your son s mind, Mrs. Alving and that is a thing you certainly ought not to undervalue, (315) echoing Dr. Relling s belief that illusions are sometimes more than a question of reality. In both plays, the deeper questions are about whose reality matters, and who may determine another person s reality. Relling accuses Greger of having a plague of ...integrity fever; and then what s worse you are always in a delirium of hero worship; you must always have something to adore, outside yourself, which Greger agrees to, without considering the consequences of this claim (297). In fact, Greger s certainty about the dangers of illusions provokes the young Hedvig into an emotional despair, and she kills herself. The issues presented in this play are not about what is true, or false, but about the ways people build their lives on the past. Hedvig s father, Hialmar, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

BSC is a 78,000 square foot facility consisting of four indoor turf fields, basketball courts, training center, multi level PlayMaze, arcade with redemption center, batting cages, and a three floor 9,000 square foot interactive fantasy themed laser tag arena. The warehouse that Mark had sold off when he sold his previous company was still for sale after being on the market for two years and having over $2M spent on getting it ready for sale. Since Mark had an existing relationship with the landlord, the real estate market was at a record low, and Mark didn t have to take a loan since he still had the cash from his previous venture. The landlord was asking $9/square foot, tempting Mark to make the same mistake that the competition made. Instead of accepting it and falling into the trap, Mark did extensive research on the town and comps in the area and felt confident offering $4.50/square foot in four consecutive five year leases starting at $4, then $4.25, all the way to $5 thus freeing up more working capital for the launch of his business. Mark s homework on his timing paid off and locked down the warehouse he previously owned but for his new venture. Mark proceeded to hire consultants who specialized in sport center business start ups with his extra working capital. They had never advised the start ups including a wow factor such as laser tag or an arcade until they met Mark. • 11. The Monster As A Character In Frankenstein The Frankenstein that Mary Shelley wrote about changed the perception of the story that was told to me when I was growing up and saw on television. Throughout my childhood, Frankenstein was depicted as a stiff, giant, clumsy monster with a hideous face, scarred green body and with plugs protruding from his neck. Upon reading Frankenstein, I started to view him not as a monster but as someone who was born into a tragic life full of hardships due to his appearance and not his personality. The deeper the reader ventures into the book, the more it seems like the creature is punished for being created, and you start to feel sympathy for the monster. During the Romantic Era, authors started to make the readers feel compassion for the characters to help engage the readers emotionally to the story they were reading. The monster in the novel is one example of a character that the readers would feel compassion. The book begins with the story of a sailor named Robert Walton as he looks for a new passage through the Arctic and relays the tale of his adventure in letters he writes to his sister. Sailing one day, the crew discovers a man nearly frozen to death along with his dead dog sled team on the edge of the ice around their ship. Suppose both firms have entered the industry. What is the joint profit maximizing level of output? How much will each firm produce? How would your answer change if the firms have not yet entered the industry? If both firms enter the market, and they collude, they will face a marginal revenue curve with twice the slope of the demand curve: MR = 50 10Q. When the second firm enters, price can be written as a function of the output of two firms: P = 53 Q1 Q2. We may write the profit functions for the two firms: or and or c. Suppose (as in the Cournot model) that each firm chooses its profit maximizing level of output on the assumption that its competitor s output is fixed. Find each firm s reaction curve (i.e., the rule that gives its desired output in terms of its competitor s output). Under the Cournot assumption, Firm 1 treats the output of Firm 2 as a constant in its maximization of profits. Therefore, Firm 1 chooses Q1 to maximize 1 in b with Q2 being treated as a constant. ... • 13. Commerce Is Creating Wealth For Society The among the many functions of commerce is creating wealth for society. However, it is questionable if the firm in Margin Call follows through with its role acting in the interests of society in its bleak predicament. Once it is revealed that there is a high probability of the firm being devalued beyond market capitalization, the employees of an unnamed company attempt to formulate a solution to the imminent crisis. Although there is some dissent from Sam Rogers, Head of Sales and Trading, CEO Tuld promptly decides to liquidate the firm s toxic assets onto the market. Despite the unanimous direction the firm moves in, there are various sources of internal tensions between the firm s employees in that they individually represent differing perspectives within the social context of the firm. Through the various rationales the executives possess as well as the relationships between the employees and the firm itself, Margin Call illustrates the conviction that although the role of commerce is to engender a certain lifestyle for the public, the executives in the firm have warped this belief into a justification for the extreme measures they lead the firm to take in the name of their profit and their survival. In the first scene of Margin Call, the social hierarchy of the firm is staunchly established as Will himself is nonchalant about the layoff because he holds a relatively senior position in the firm and it s evident that he has survived through other layoffs. It changed the Federal legal status of enslaved people in the South from slave to free. This proclamation ordered all ten states to free slaves. This proclamation excluded areas not in the rebellion. The reason these areas were excluded is because the proclamation was issued under the president s authority to suppress rebellion and it was not passed by Congress as a law. • 15. Naomi Shihab Nye Essay In the book Habibi, by Naomi Shihab Nye, there are many ways that the author expresses her feelings of identity through the main character, Liyana. The main forms of identity are ethnicity, religion, and age. These all affect the way that people look at you and judge you. In Habibi, Liyana is judged by her age, religion, and ethnicity. This is also part of why moving to a different country is hard for Liyana; people in Jerusalem judge your identity differently. However, Liyana does not let the comments of others change her. She still stays true to her own opinion of her ethnicity, age, and religion throughout the novel. First, Liyana must discover what she believes her ethnicity is. Ethnicity is the association with a certain social group with similar beliefs or cultures. However, Liyana is a mix of two parents from different ethnicities. This makes Liyana what Americans call a half and half , and what Arabs call nos nos . However, Liyana does not quite consider herself exactly half of one ethnicity and half of the other. In the novel, Liyana discovers many different parts to the Arabic culture that she enjoys and other parts to her American culture that she does not. This does not mean that Liyana is more Arabic than American, but shows how Liyana is a holder of many different cultures and ethnicities. However, many people in Jerusalem judge based on ethnicity. An example of this was when a Jewish stranger told Liyana not to associate with an Indian spice vendor named Bassam. This shows that many people discriminate and are mean to people of different cultures. Age is another part of Liyana s identity that she must accept in order to adapt in Jerusalem. Furthermore, I am interested in learning more about how India is able to function despite having such a diverse ethnic and religious make up. The British encouraged a divide between Indian Muslims and Indian Hindus. The British needed these two religious groups to be divided in order to keep their control. They wanted citizens to identify themselves through their religion, not as Indians. By keeping India divided, Britain would be able to remain in control. If Britain had encouraged cohesion and unity, would this have helped bridge the gap between these two religious groups? For example, the Great Calcutta Killings of 1946, could this event been avoided? The Great Calcutta Killings remind me of what happened in Rwanda in 1994. A conflict in which people who were once neighbours were killing each other for belonging to a different religious or ethnic group. Both situations resulted in a bloody massacre of innocent people and the complete disregard of human life. Countries that need to focus on hunting and gathering cannot focus on other aspects of their society like military power, religion, technology and education. Geographic luck is another factor of environmental determinism. Geographic luck means that people have strong advantages to their lives because of where they currently live. The Spartans used Cleon s over aggressiveness against him, by setting up a Spartan colony named Heraclea right near Athens. This forced Athens to make a decision of sending its troops to Syracuse and getting attacked in Athens, or not attacking Syracuse altogether. This goes back to environmental determinism again, because generals such as Brasidas of Sparta was able to come up with this plan, because the Spartans had a growing and strong enough colony that they did not need to focus on hunting and gathering and could focus on military matters. Both poems share the theme of there is no easy way in life, but they way the authors developed the theme was similar and different. First, the poem The Rose that Grew from concrete uses Figurative Language and Symbols to develop the theme of there is no easy way in life. First, the author uses Figurative Language to develop the theme by showing us that the Rose can walk without having feet. It says, it learned to walk without having feet. The author uses Figurative Language to develop the theme of there is no easy way in life because the author is giving the rose human like features, like walking. This shows the theme because the author described that the rose was walking without having feet. Second of all, the author uses characterization to develop the theme by showing us that the mother is telling her son to persevere through life because it is not easy. She is also telling him that her life is not easy. It says in the text And boards torn up, And places with no carpet on the floor. This proves which somehow she needed to step over to arrive where she stands now. Oil Spills Caused By Offshore Drilling Essay Oils spills caused by offshore drilling in California (Santa Barbara) Introduction: This paper is about the effects of offshore drilling particularly it discusses oil spills caused by offshore drilling in California . These oil spills that are caused by offshore drilling affect the environment in the long run. Even some of these impacts on the environment by oil spills last for decades (Larry West). For example when an oil slick arrives at the beach from a huge oil spill then it sticks to each grain of the sand and every rock. So if this oil is absorbed by the forests or fibrous plants etc. then it can make the whole area unsuitable for wildlife. Moreover if this oil spills stops and sinks in the surface of the water then these oil spills damage the fragile ecosystems under water and can prove extremely dangerous to marine life (Jennifer Horton). The infrastructure that is needed to transport offshore oil and drill wells is destroying. The series of walls can lead to erosion. The companies should not be allowed for offshore drilling because of its negative impacts. There are many issues regarding offshore drilling. For example if there is an accident then it can paralyze the economy because it prohibits the people from fishing (Jennifer Horton). Well, teen pregnancy are young female girls that become pregnant under the age of 20. A female can become pregnant from having sexual intercourse and after she have started to ovulate. Young female girls will become pregnant without even thinking about the consequences and the type of environment the baby will be in. Not because the young mother is poor or rich, but because they re not ready to take care of another human being. Not to mention, pregnant teens are young themselves, so their also growing. There are plenty of problems that are the cause of teen pregnancy, and many of those problems can be solved. One reason for teen pregnancy is the lack of information that is given to students in middle and high school about sex and how to prevent it from happening. Also, the lack amount of talks from parents that they can give to their teen. I wouldn t say there isn t any education given out to students about sex, but there isn t ENOUGH to make pre teens and teens to fully understand and have the right mind set about sex. Many schools won t really focus on the topic about teen pregnancy because it really doesn t have much about academics and that s really understandable, but at the end of the day teens are also human and do make mistakes. I believe schools should give education about teen pregnancy as much as the other subjects. The topic of teen pregnancy shouldn t be left out because talking to your teen about sex can definitely influence their lifestyle. Many teens would learn about sex in the streets which it totally horrible because 9/10, the streets will educate them to have sex rather than not to. The solution to this problem is that parents and schools should educate their teens/students with more education about teen pregnancy, so that the number pregnant teens can decrease in near future. Another reason for teen pregnancy is social media. Social media can have a huge impact on how teens can view their lives by influencing them with a different kind of lifestyle. Not to mention, teens can easily be brainwashed by what they see on there and think what they see on social media is good, is actually wrong. Social media will have ... Ralph Waldo Emerson was born on May 25, 1803 and died on April 27, 1882. • 34. How Successful Were The Suffragettes Were the Suffragettes Successful? The Suffragettes were formed by Emmeline Pankhurst in October of 1903 as the Women s Social and Political Union (WSPU) and were essentially a new organisation based on the National Union of Women s Suffrage Societies (NUWSS), whose members were known as Suffragists. The Suffragettes are famous, or rather infamous, for their use of violence. Their motto was, after all, Deeds not Words . Historians still argue today as to how successful they were in their own right, whether it was inevitable for women to get the vote, and, if so, how much of a contribution the Suffragettes really made. Many argue that it was womens effort in the First World War that made the most difference to women obtaining the vote in 1918, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Full electoral equality was not in place until the Representation of the People Act 1928. Both the Suffragettes and the Suffragists celebrated up and down the country; the Act had been achieved after tireless years of campaigning and four years of filling jobs left by men who went to war which, to most, undeniably helped to convince Parliament to greater effect than the extreme activities of the Suffragettes pre WW1. Many agree that the Suffragists efforts also played a very important role, including Joyce Marlow, women s history writer, who wrote in Votes for Women (2000); Some would argue including me that it was the moderates of the NUWSS, led by Millicent Fawcett, who actually won the vote. In 1912, while the militants embarked on arson and bombing, the NUWSS made a successful working alliance with the growing Labour Party. It was this group which successfully lobbied for the 1918 Franchise ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

So, This uses experimental design as well to establish a causal relationship. Moreover, this three experiments factor will be the dependent variable. However, in contrast to, Bushman et al, Carnagey et al used 3x3 factorial experimental design. This is because instead of having one independent variable like the previous study, Carnagey et al used two independent variables (reward/punishment and nonviolent), with each having measurement time of baseline, after video game and during completion of the State Hostility Scale (SHS) and product comprised the condition for reward/ punishment types, whereas, control, appearance focus and social comparison comprised the condition for nonviolent types. Participants in all three studies were selected randomly from a large group of students who had earlier completed the trait physical aggression subscale of the Aggression Questionnaire and the Video Game Violence Exposure Questionnaire (page 884). They were selected using a non probability sampling technique and constituted a convenience sample since subject was not randomly selected to participate. They however were randomly assigned to condition of independent variables. In the first experiment, there were forty three male and thirty two female undergraduates. They were instructed to playing the randomly assigned video game given, each were only allow 20 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
