Artists that Influenced The Beatles Essay
In the eyes of many, The Beatles are one of the most influential bands of the 20th century. They have
influenced me in my everyday life and so many great musicians in the past 50 years. This fact alone,
makes it hard to imagine that they were once influenced by someone else. While doing some research,
I found various artists that influenced them through the beginning of their careers until the very end.
In the following paragraphs, I will be sharing with you a few of the artists I thought to be the most
influential to The Beatles extremely successful career and why I thought them to be so influential. In
their youth, The Beatles were avid followers of early forms of Rock and Roll. Skiffle was a popular
form of music in post war Britain ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
John was fascinated not only with Presley s voice, but also by the jagged guitar work that propelled
Heartbreak Hotel (Hall 1). The Beatles admired him not only for his music, but for his style. They
quickly slicked their hair back, got sideburns, tight jeans called drainpipes , and crepe soled shoes, all
in true Elvis style. John was so inspired by Elvis, that it drove him to create his first skiffle group
called The Quarrymen. Another early influence of The Beatles, was one of the most influential guitar
players of early rock and roll, Chuck Berry. Berry was known for cultivation and development of
rhythm and blues music. He is known as one of rock and roll s pioneers. Not only was Berry s style
heard a lot in early Beatles albums, his songs Roll Over Beethoven and Rock and Roll Music were
later covered by The Beatles. In 1963, The Beatles reached their first number one hit. Though Please
Please Me has more of a high energy fast tempo, the song was inspired by Roy Orbison s 1960 hit
Only the Lonely . It was John Lennon s attempt at writing a Roy Orbison song. The Beatles were fond
of Roy Orbison s song writing and distinct singing approach. Roy Orbison had one of the most
distinctive and expressive voices, with a three to four octave range to match, in rock and pop music
(Tranquillo 24). Another influence found in the chart topper was The Everly Brothers. The opening

Quotes From Birmingham Jail Quote Analysis
Kindness is the Key ...it is wrong to use immoral means to attain moral ends , what does this quote
mean? Also, what does the quote it is just as wrong, or perhaps even more so, to use moral means to
preserve immoral ends mean? Martin Luther King Jr, a leader of the African American Civil Rights
Movement, interpreted his own quote as: violent, or immoral, protest is not the way to reach the goal
of desegregation. He also described moral means to keep immoral ends as the police officers who
have exercised a degree of discipline while handling the protesters, but they are still fighting for the
wrong cause: segregation. Although MLK s interpretation of his own quote was accurate for the
problems occurring during that time, today, world issues have changed, and his quote can be
interpreted differently.
An immoral group fighting for moral ends could include the Black Lives Matter movement. This
activist group uses violence to achieve equality. The activists get caught up in politics and media

The Civil Rights Movement started because the white man believed to be better than the black man; if
everyone had accepted one another for who they are, a person, and disregarded their skin color, an
activist movement would not have been needed at all there would have been no racism. The Black
Lives Matter movement could have been a success if kindness and nonviolence was present. Their
hatred only caused more disputes. Political corruption would cease to exist if politicians understood
selflessness, or made decisions to positively impact the nation, not themselves. In conclusion, we all
have stories, ideas, and love to share. If everyone chose kindness as their upmost important trait, there
would never be hatred to the degree of racism and segregation again. There would only be moral
societies accomplishing moral

Summary Of Yellow Woman And A Beauty Of The Spirit
In the yellow Woman and a Beauty of the Spirit by Leslie Marmon Silko, Silko describes what is
considered beauty and prominent in the outside modern day culture as untrue. Silko starts off the essay
with her heritage and makes it clear that her culture is the only culture that except her. Silko realizes
she was different from others; her skin color differed from her friends and family s. Silko explains
how the Laguna Pueblo people have no gender roles and how sexuality is embraced. The structure of
the story helps convince the reader that the Laguna Pueblo people work together as a community to
benefit everyone as a whole. The stories told also give Silko hope, about how differences can bring
great benefits to her people. The stories of the Yellow Woman entertain Silko, but also tell her beauty
is character and not physical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She also realized that close family members, like her grandma, we re not bothered by the color of her
skin. Silko realized how different the culture of the Laguna Pueblo people and the modern world are.
This became apparent to Silko because of how a tourist treated her compared to the rest of the class.
The tourist removed her from the class pictures because she stood out from him and the rest of the
class. Her grandma was not bothered by her skin color, she would tell Silko to remember the stories.
Silko would be comforted by stories of Yellow Woman they both told many stories of true beauty and
power. Their stories that would represent all women, Silko s favorite stories were the ones with Yellow
Woman. Yellow Woman s stories Taught Silko to be okay with her differences. Yellow Woman was
considered beautiful in Silko s because of her strong, Daring, and clever personality. Yellow Woman s
sexuality was also embraced because of how it could benefit her people. Great stories like these are
what shaped the Laguna Pueblo s

Now moving into chapter 21 of The Goal, Alex has identified the problems/bottlenecks in his factory.
His goal now is to identify the back log of orders and get them through the bottlenecks, get them
assembled, and shipped out to the buyers as soon as possible. Alex and his team determines that one of
the underlying causes of their present parts pile up at the bottlenecks is because the operator cannot
tell the difference between a bottleneck destined part and an ordinary one. The operator, in an attempt
to keep busy, processes batch after batch of non bottleneck parts when what they really need to do is
work on bottleneck parts. They attempt a solution for this by placing red and green tags on the parts
which are destined for a bottleneck ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Jonah shows that they can use the same method to develop a release system for materials throughout
the system. By knowing when the bottleneck parts will reach final assembly, the release of the non
bottleneck materials can be timed to coincide along the other routes. Then Jonah indicates that after
load balancing is performed to meet market demand without excess production, the next logical step is
to reduce the batch sizes to reduce the total capital commitment used during production. Reduction in
batch sizes also reduces the total time spent in work in process. Less time spent in production
increases the speed of throughput as well as a faster turn around on customer orders. Shorter lead
times result in better response to the market demands. (Jackson, Goldratt, Cox, American Media
Incorporated, 1995) At this point the factory is operating at a capacity like never before. They have
been shipping a record number of orders in a record amount of time. All of the orders past the
shipping date have been completed and shipped. They are now shipping current orders on time and
early in in some cases. Now that the plat is responding better to market demands, Alex can focus on
sales throughput, and gets the division sales manager, Johnny Jons, to market his plant s improved
capacity. Together they manage to tie down a major contract

Probability and Measures of Central Tendency
Probability Measures of Central Tendency Part 1 The data collected for this paper will be the number
of minutes spent on the commute to school each day for a ten day period. The commute is generally
between 20 and 30 minutes, though traffic problems, particularly accidents, can greatly increase the
time for the commute. Minutes Per Day Spent on Commuting EMBED Excel.Sheet.12 Part II Using
the data you have collected in above, please do the following: Calculate the mean, median, and mode.
The mean is the number many people refer to as the arithmetic average. It is the sum of the results
divided by the total number of data points collected. The mean is:
(23+23+27+22+19+30+32+23+24+47)/10 = 27 The median is the number in the middle of a
distribution, once that distribution has been placed in ascending or descending order. In ascending
order, the results are: 19, 22, 23, 23, 23, 24, 27, 30, 32, 47. Because 10 is an even number, the median
is the mean of the two middle numbers. The two middle numbers are 23 and 24. Therefore, the median
is 23.5. The mode is the number occurring most frequently in the distribution. The results are: 19, 22,
23, 23, 23, 24, 27, 30, 32, 47. Therefore, the mode is 23. Are these numbers higher or lower than you
would have expected? The numbers are what I expected. Which of these measures of central tendency
do you think most accurately describes the lifestyle variable you are looking at? Both the median and
the mode do

Watches In The Military
Egyptian and Babylonian astronomers used the sundial as a primitive form of today s smart watch.
Train conductors have utilized pocket watches to maintain a tight and precise schedule due to their
accurate time keeping. Watches in the military have components such as tachometers, barometers, and
atomic timekeepers that aid in more than just timekeeping. Wall Street uses watches to coordinate
trades and exchanges in stock. Watches are depended upon all over the world without being thought of
as much. When a wristwatch is used every day continually its value doubles not only in sentimental
value, but the rarity of the timepiece increases.

Euripides Research Paper
The Life of Euripides
Euripides was one of the three great tragedians. The other two were Aeschylus, and Sophocles.
According to the Encyclopedia, Euripides was a Greek playwright whom Aristotle called the most
tragic of the Greek poets. He is certainly the most revolutionary Greek tragedian known in modern
times ( Euripides ). He is well known for transforming traditional Greek tragedies by using strong
female characters and brilliant slaves. From the ninety two plays Euripides wrote, only nineteen were
saved in complete form. Euripides was a brilliant Greek playwright who was one of the most
revolutionary tragedians known to this day,
Euripides was born in Salmis in 480 B.C. He was the son of Mnesarchus or Mnesarchides. According
to the legend, his father was a tradesman or tavern keeper. His mother, Cleito, is said to be a seller of
herbs in a marketplace (Kitto). Europides was raised in a cultured family. He got to witness the
rebuilding of the Athenian walls after the Persian war (Encyclopedia). Overall, he belonged to the
Pelopnessian War period. Euripides is thought to have come from a well being, family since they gave
him a gymnastic education that prepared him for the athletic contests. Euripides married twice to

horror thriller movie, which was released in august 9 of 1999. The film is about a man named Dr.
Malcolm Crowe, who is a child psychologist in Philadelphia. He returns home one night with his wife,
Anna, after having been honored for his work as a psychiatrist. A young man appears in their
bathroom, and accuses Malcolm of failing him. Malcolm recognizes him as Vincent Grey, a former

The reasoning behinds this is that it has a great symbolic meaning to it. The color symbolizes anything
in the real world that has been tainted by the other world and is used to suggest really explosively
emotional moments and situations. A scene that helps support this is when Cole was at the birthday
party. Cole s red jumper at the kid s party, and the red balloon, both pre empt the ghost sobbing in the
wall. It has also been said that the image of the balloon rising up towards the light through the center
of the spiral staircase is representative of a spirit rising up towards God, with the staircase representing
life s journey. The fact that Cole wears red here could be symbolic of his situation at this point: he is
naive and uncertain, but is drawn to the voices nonetheless. Red is the color of the spirit world, and so
by wearing it he is inadvertently drawing spirits towards him. Whenever Cole was scared he would
run to the Church which had a big red door, or he would run to his sanctuary which was a red tent in
his house. So, contradictorily, red is both a color of danger and ghosts, and of safety and refuge. I
think the key to understanding this contradiction is in religion and all its contradictions and promises.
Cole s understanding of religion is a simple one. He sees the church as a place to escape the spirits
voices that are haunting him, and yet he enters possibly one of the most spiritual places

How Did Emily Dickinson s Life Influence Her Poetry
Emily Dickinson Her Life and Poetry
Emily Elizabeth Dickinson was born December 10, 1830, into an influential family in Amherst,
Massachusetts. Her father helped found Amherst College, where Emily later attended between 1840
and 1846. She never married and died in the house where she was born on May 15, 1886.
Emily Dickinson s reclusive life was arguably a result of her proposed bi polar disorder. This life and
disorder unduly influenced the themes of her poetry. She chose not to associate herself with society
and volumes of her poems, published posthumously, examine this idea as well as the themes of nature
and death. The clearest examples of these themes are presented in the following analysis of just of few

This poem conjures images of a solemn ceremony in which the soul reigns superior by shutting out
everyone, including the emperor, similar to the shutting out of everyone that Dickinson did. In one of
Dickinson s most famous poems, I heard a Fly buzz, the theme of death is presented as well as a
symptomatic characteristic of bi polar disorder. The poem itself epitomizes her preoccupation with
death and the macabre and also shows how the small, normally ignorable sound of a fly buzzing
becomes the only thing heard, she magnifies this sound in a situation when it seems that everything
else is much more important, but this inability to drown out extraneous noises is typical of someone
suffering from manic depression. The form of this poem employs all of Dickinson s formal patterns:
trimeter and tetrameter iambic lines, her specific use of the dash to interrupt the meter of the poem,
and it is in ABCB rhyme scheme.
Two of Dickinson s universal techniques are metaphor and the fresh application of language; both
techniques result in powerful images, and can be seen in two of her poems that focus on nature
themes, A Bird came down the Walk and narrow Fellow. She closes the poem, A Bird with a stanza
equating flight through the air with movement through water,

More Than Thrones Do not pick a favorite character; that is the best advice any fan of Game of
Thrones could give. Game of Thrones is an award winning television show that first aired in 2011, and
has just completed its seventh season. The show is based on fantasy novels created by the author
George R.R. Martin, who also contributes to the show as a producer and scriptwriter. Game of
Thrones takes place mainly in the fantasy continent known as Westeros, filled with seven kingdoms
under one monarch. Some families fight for survival, others fight for the Iron Throne. Then across the
sea, on the continent of Essos, the previous heir to the throne of a usurped dynasty plan to take back
their rightful throne. Meanwhile, a supernatural and ancient army returns to Westeros in order to
destroy the living. With its profound symbolism, stunning cinematography, and complex storyline,
Game of Thrones has set the bar extremely high for television. Nearly every aspect of Game of
Thrones holds a greater meaning. Whether it be the house s sigil or the actions of the characters. For
example, one of the favorite families, the Starks, have a grey direwolf against a white background.
The wolf is the family s sigil and it seems to look like armor which represents the willingness to fight
and their determination to persevere against all adversity. The white background stands for their
readiness for the harsh winters and the attacks

Mars: What is the evidence that water once flowed on Mars?
In last couple year s evidence of water on mars has grown exponentially. The geography of Mars
suggests that water was once there. This is because they have found runoff channels in the southern
highlands and outflow channels that are almost exact to how they are on Earth, which obviously does
have water. The Mars Reconnaissance Observer and Mars Express found deposits of clay in the
southern highlands that some researchers say is a strong sign that water was there. Some others argue
that the clay could be formed by other elements on Mars, such as wind. Also, the Mars Express
detected hydrated chemical compounds in the surface of rocks over large areas, which means it ...

The Love Song Of J. Alfred Prufrock Essay
The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock by T.S. Elliot is in part a satire. It was written in the form of a
dramatic monologue delivered by the poem s speaker, J. Alfred Prufrock. It begins with him asking an
unknown you to accompany him on a walk. The two walk through town and stumbles upon women
talking about Michelangelo at a social event. The women s bare arms and long dresses show off their
knowledge of art. Prufrock wishes to talk to the women and is attracted to them sexually but he is
afraid. The story tells of a man who at first seems lonely and longing for companionship. Yet with
further investigation one can find a man who is suffering through a mid life crisis, a mental break
down within himself. Do you think love is blind?
J. Alfred Prufrock is afraid to approach the women because of his age and the way he is dressed.
Prufrock has a bald spot and he is self conscious about it. Just by reading the title of this poem, the
theme of love is obviously present. Although, when reading the title you may think this poem was
about a love story about a couple or something along those lines but it turns out different then the
reader would expect. The love song of J. Alfred Prufrock is weakly imbedded with love. Prufrock s
unsure attitude causes him to miss out on opportunity. He never actually acts upon his feelings for the
women talking about Michelangelo. In the poem he asks, Do I dare? as if he has something to risk. He
almost overcomes his fear and talks to the

Explain How Asexual Reproduction Is Different From Sexual...
1. Explain how asexual reproduction is different from sexual reproduction. Asexual reproduction is
different from seucal reproduction because it reproduces through mitosis which clones the cell and
results in the new cells being identical to the parent cell. However, sexual reproduction takes 50%
(about) of the chromosomes of each parent to create a new diploid (zygote) which creates genetic
variation and could be advantageous to evolving/natural selection. 2. Explain what happens during
crossing over and when it occurs in meiosis. Crossing over occurs in prophase I which is the first
prophase of meiosis. Two chromosomes each from one parent can physically connect and share
genetic information (creating a chiasma). As a result, genetic variation increases. 3. How is metaphase
I different from metaphase of mitosis? Metaphase I is different from metaphase of mitosis because in
metaphase I homologous pairs are being separated and pulled to the opposite ends of the cell by
microtubules. However, in metaphase of mitosis, sister chromatids are being separated to opposite
ends of the cell. 4. Explain why sexual reproduction increases variation among offspring much more
than asexual reproduction does. Sexual reproduction ensures that the offspring will be a combination
traits from both the parents. Some traits from both parents will be present (hopefully advantageous
ones) and some traits will be inactive (disadvantageous ones). This increases variation because no

Internet Freedom And Political Oppression
An immensely prominent aspect of today s society is technology, which has provided the world with
the internet. Though the internet has provided many positive benefits, it has also brought along many
negative aspects. In Evgeny Morozov s article, Technology s Role in Revolution. Internet Freedom
and Political Oppression the authors argument revolves around cyber utopianism and realism in regard
to the internets actual function. Morozov s article attempts to convince the reader the internet is a
rather negative tool due to how the function of the internet has been more beneficial to governments
by allowing the spread of propaganda and legitimacy, and its aid in authoritarianism. Morozov mainly
focuses on how many people often seem to forget how the internet carries negative aspects, resulting
in cyber utopianism, a naïve belief in the emancipatory nature of online communication that rests on a
stubborn refusal to acknowledge its downsides. Morozov argues that cyber utopianism is not a

and because of the effect the internet has had on authoritarianism. Instead of the internet being a tool

Packet Inspection Using a Hierarchical Pattern Matching Algorithm
T. .Mukthar Ahamed

Proddatur, India tmukthar@gmail.com Abstract: Detection engines capable of inspecting packet
payloads for application layer network information are urgently required. The most important
technology for fast payload inspection is an efficient multipattern matching algorithm, which performs
exact string matching between packets and a large set of predefined patterns. This paper proposes a
novel Enhanced Hierarchical Multipattern Matching Algorithm (EHMA) for packet inspection. Based
on the occurrence frequency of grams, a small set of the most frequent grams is discovered and used
in the EHMA. EHMA is a two tier and cluster wise matching algorithm, which significantly reduces
the amount of external memory accesses and the capacity of memory. Using a skippable scan strategy,
EHMA speeds up the scanning process. Furthermore, independent of parallel and special functions,
EHMA is very simple and therefore practical for both software and hardware implementations.
Simulation results reveal that EHMA significantly improves the matching performance. The speed of
EHMA is about 0.89 1,161 times faster than that of current matching algorithms. Even under real life
intense attack, EHMA still performs well.
Index Terms Inspection, Detection, pattern matching, network security, signatures.

A Surprising Number Of Problems Arise From Tight Hamstrings
A surprising number of problems arise from tight hamstrings and, given the frequency of knee injuries
among athletes and dancers, it s obvious that the methods used to keep them free could be better. This
article presents a more effective way to free your hamstrings, improve your performance, and avoid
injury.
A Look at Your Hamstrings
The hamstrings are the muscles that run from behind and below your knees up the backs of your
thighs to your sitbones . Soft tissue injuries, knee pain, torn menisci (the cartilage pads in your knees
that cushion the bones), chondromalacia patelli (painful wearing of the cartilage behind the kneecaps),
and poor posture often come from tight hamstrings. Tight hamstrings can prevent you from reaching

As you can see, hamstring tension has far reaching effects on movement, balance, and the health of
joints.
Why Stretching Doesn t Protect 100% Against Hamstring Pulls and Soft Tissue Injuries
Knowing all this, athletes and dancers attempt to stretch their hamstrings. Attempt is the correct word
because stretching produces only limited and temporary effects, which is one reason why so many
athletes (and dancers) suffer pulled hamstrings and knee injuries.
As anyone who has had someone stretch their hamstrings for them knows, forcible stretching is also
usually a painful ordeal. In addition, stretching the hamstrings disrupts their natural coordination with
the quadriceps muscles, which is why ones legs feel shaky after stretching the hamstrings.
Fortunately, there is a more effective way to manage hamstring tension than by stretching. To
understand how it works, one must first recognize that hamstrings that need stretching are usually
holding tension that is, they are actively contracting. In that case, the person is holding them tense by
habit, unconsciously. Oddly enough, if one tries to relax them, one is likely to find that one cannot;
one may then assume that the muscles are completely relaxed and need stretching. You may not
realize that those muscles are contracting on automatic due to postural habits stored in your central
nervous system. Any attempt to stretch them simply re triggers the impulse to re contract them to
restore

Blood Vessels Research Paper
1. Discuss the different types of blood vessels. Include the different layers composing blood vessels
(remember to include tissue types) in your discussion.
Blood vessels start to develop during the embryonic stage and continue through the life span. There
are more than 66,000 miles of vessels carrying blood through the body. Blood vessels consist of
arteries, capillaries, and veins. The walls of the arteries and veins consist of three separate layers
called the tunica externa (adventitia), tunica media, and the tunica intima. As blood vessels decrease in
diameter the thickness of the walls also decrease.
Arteries: Carry blood away from the heart and supplies blood to the tissues of the body. There are
several types.
Elastic Arteries: The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They are known as the primary exchange vessels. Capillaries consist of a single layer of endothelium
and associated connective tissue. They carry blood from the arterioles to the venules. Transfer of
nutrients and other vital substances between blood and tissue cells occurs at or near a capillary. True
capillaries receive blood flowing out of the small arterioles. There are three different types found in
the human body: continuous, fenestrated, and sinusoid. The differences in each function has to do with
the location in the body.
Continuous Capillaries: Has a continuous lining of endothelial cells. Found in the skeletal muscle,
lung, and many types of connective tissue. They contain small openings called intracellular clefts
between the adjacent endothelial cells. Found in areas of the body such as the central nervous system,
skeletal muscles, and skin.
Fenestrated Capillaries: Contains intracellular clefts and small holes called fenestra. These vessels
allow small molecules as well, as limited amounts of nutrients, to pass through their walls. Most
commonly found in the endocrine system.
Sinusoid Capillaries: Contains a large lumen and a more winding tortuous course. The basement
membrane is either absent or incomplete. Found in the liver, spleen, bone marrow, and portions of the
endocrine system. It permits migration of blood cells

The Hunger Games By Suzanne Collins Essay
Identity. Something so elementary to define, yet so onerous to apply to a person. Seemingly, it appears
that only through experience someone can manage to partially grasp their identity as they are pushed
to confront their environments and respond in an appropriate manner constitutionalized by their
identity. In Suzanne Collins The Hunger Games, a novel set in Panem a dystopian country that was
originally North America before the outset of natural disasters, storms, fires, encroaching seas and war
follows the first person point of view of Katniss Everdeen (Collins 18). The totalitarian government,
usually referred as the Capitol, subjects all of the twelve districts to select two male and female
teenagers to participate in the Hunger Games, where the twenty four tributes fight to the death in a
gladiator style that is used to entertain the Capitol s audience while reaffirming their dominance over
the districts. Once Katniss sister, Prim, is randomly selected for the Games, Katniss quickly volunteers
to take her place and she departs for the Capitol with the other tribute, Peeta Mellark. During Katniss
time in the arena, she is forced to adapt to her horrid situation and recognize her genuine identity as
she balances survival against humanity. As the story of Katniss develops throughout The Hunger
Games, she is forced to acknowledge her authentic identity as she diverges from her initial
preconception of her identity as she survives the new environment.

Secrets Of The Viet Cong Summary
The brutal and vicious strategies used during the second Indochina war eloquently were brought to
light by James W. McCoy in Secrets of the Viet Cong. McCoy describe the stories and acts that
occurred during the second Indochina war that had taken place on all sides of the field. The main
focus of this book is the U.S pitted against the V.C as well as the many other obstacles faced in the
country of Vietnam. War in general is a very interesting topic, especially the Vietnam war. The fact
that the superpower America had failed to compete and to win against the small country of North
Vietnam makes this specific war as interesting as it is. Not to mention the warfare tactics and
strategies used by either side makes it an enthralling topic to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The Inquiry Approach to Learning Essay
Inquiry is an interactive way of learning. Students are actively engaged in their studies. Inquiry
involves student centered activities focusing on questioning, exploring, and posing explanations. The
goal of inquiry is to introduce a new way of learning where students can learn about the world around
them through active engagement in real life examples. Inquiry based learning can be incorporated into
all academic subjects throughout the curriculum. Science could possibly be the most effective subject
to incorporate inquiry. In Science, teachers serve as the facilitator of learning, guiding them through
the inquiry process. Teachers must ask open ended questions, allow time for the students to answer,

They are given several minutes to explore. Students must find a desirable question to research and
conduct the experiment based on their observations. Students are considered to be scientists in the
inquiry process. Children will view themselves as scientists as they learn. They look forward to
science, demonstrate a desire to learn more, seek collaboration with their classmates, they are
confident in doing science, and willing to take risks. Students are readily engaged in exploring
science. They have curiosity, ponder observations, move around to get the materials they need, and
have the opportunity to try out their ideas. Students are able to communicate using various amounts of
methods. They express their ideas in journals, reporting, or drawing. They listen, speak, and write
about science. They communicate their level of understanding of concepts and ideas. The students
propose explanations and solutions based off their data. They use investigations to satisfy their own
questions. They sort out information that is needed and important. They become willing to revise
explanations and gain new knowledge. They raise questions, use questions to lead them to
investigations, and students begin to enjoy using questions to ponder ideas. Students begin to observe
rather than look. They see details, detect sequences, and notice change, similarities, and differences.

The Need to Redress German Dependence on Russia for its...
How would energy diversification away from Russia change the behaviour of Germany to its Eastern
European Partners?
Germany is by a long distance the largest consumer of energy in Europe it is especially reliant on
foreign sources of energy in the form of fossil fuels. Germany is the seventh largest consumer of
energy in the world, (EIA 2013) and because Germany has an insufficient amount of local oil and gas
reserves to fuel its economy it imports most if not all of its gas and oil needs. Germany s central
position and size on the European continent ensures that Germany s relationship with its neighbours is
affected to a large degree by this dependence as Oil remains the most significant although declining
energy source in Germany, accounting for 32% in 2010. (IEA 2012 p.6) Oil is imported to the country
through its pipeline infrastructure and ports. Imports mainly come from Russia, Norway, the United
Kingdom and Holland. Germany is also a huge consumer of Natural Gas imported from Russia, and
Norway through various gas pipeline infrastructures. Because, of Germany s European Membership
and thus its European Energy Community membership its Energy system is deeply interwoven with its
European Allies and from outside this framework also with Russia. Germany s reliance on the latter
for a significant portion of its energy needs is a worrying situation for its European allies, most
specifically in the Eastern European Countries of Poland and Lithuania. The newly built Nord

begin. The next forms to be completed is the intervention session form, this form gives a summary of
what the presenting issues are, proposed intervention and follow up plan. This form also identifies if
the client will be a IDI Single (SS)/ Multiple structure (MS) intervention session. If the client s case

more than one of the Intervention session form may be completed and placed in the client s files. Once
those forms are completed the client s initial intake is and session is completed the information is

  • 2. Artists that Influenced The Beatles Essay In the eyes of many, The Beatles are one of the most influential bands of the 20th century. They have influenced me in my everyday life and so many great musicians in the past 50 years. This fact alone, makes it hard to imagine that they were once influenced by someone else. While doing some research, I found various artists that influenced them through the beginning of their careers until the very end. In the following paragraphs, I will be sharing with you a few of the artists I thought to be the most influential to The Beatles extremely successful career and why I thought them to be so influential. In their youth, The Beatles were avid followers of early forms of Rock and Roll. Skiffle was a popular form of music in post war Britain ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... John was fascinated not only with Presley s voice, but also by the jagged guitar work that propelled Heartbreak Hotel (Hall 1). The Beatles admired him not only for his music, but for his style. They quickly slicked their hair back, got sideburns, tight jeans called drainpipes , and crepe soled shoes, all in true Elvis style. John was so inspired by Elvis, that it drove him to create his first skiffle group called The Quarrymen. Another early influence of The Beatles, was one of the most influential guitar players of early rock and roll, Chuck Berry. Berry was known for cultivation and development of rhythm and blues music. He is known as one of rock and roll s pioneers. Not only was Berry s style heard a lot in early Beatles albums, his songs Roll Over Beethoven and Rock and Roll Music were later covered by The Beatles. In 1963, The Beatles reached their first number one hit. Though Please Please Me has more of a high energy fast tempo, the song was inspired by Roy Orbison s 1960 hit Only the Lonely . It was John Lennon s attempt at writing a Roy Orbison song. The Beatles were fond of Roy Orbison s song writing and distinct singing approach. Roy Orbison had one of the most distinctive and expressive voices, with a three to four octave range to match, in rock and pop music (Tranquillo 24). Another influence found in the chart topper was The Everly Brothers. The opening verse of Please ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Quotes From Birmingham Jail Quote Analysis Kindness is the Key ...it is wrong to use immoral means to attain moral ends , what does this quote mean? Also, what does the quote it is just as wrong, or perhaps even more so, to use moral means to preserve immoral ends mean? Martin Luther King Jr, a leader of the African American Civil Rights Movement, interpreted his own quote as: violent, or immoral, protest is not the way to reach the goal of desegregation. He also described moral means to keep immoral ends as the police officers who have exercised a degree of discipline while handling the protesters, but they are still fighting for the wrong cause: segregation. Although MLK s interpretation of his own quote was accurate for the problems occurring during that time, today, world issues have changed, and his quote can be interpreted differently. An immoral group fighting for moral ends could include the Black Lives Matter movement. This activist group uses violence to achieve equality. The activists get caught up in politics and media platforms. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Civil Rights Movement started because the white man believed to be better than the black man; if everyone had accepted one another for who they are, a person, and disregarded their skin color, an activist movement would not have been needed at all there would have been no racism. The Black Lives Matter movement could have been a success if kindness and nonviolence was present. Their hatred only caused more disputes. Political corruption would cease to exist if politicians understood selflessness, or made decisions to positively impact the nation, not themselves. In conclusion, we all have stories, ideas, and love to share. If everyone chose kindness as their upmost important trait, there would never be hatred to the degree of racism and segregation again. There would only be moral societies accomplishing moral ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Summary Of Yellow Woman And A Beauty Of The Spirit In the yellow Woman and a Beauty of the Spirit by Leslie Marmon Silko, Silko describes what is considered beauty and prominent in the outside modern day culture as untrue. Silko starts off the essay with her heritage and makes it clear that her culture is the only culture that except her. Silko realizes she was different from others; her skin color differed from her friends and family s. Silko explains how the Laguna Pueblo people have no gender roles and how sexuality is embraced. The structure of the story helps convince the reader that the Laguna Pueblo people work together as a community to benefit everyone as a whole. His goal now is to identify the back log of orders and get them through the bottlenecks, get them assembled, and shipped out to the buyers as soon as possible. Alex and his team determines that one of the underlying causes of their present parts pile up at the bottlenecks is because the operator cannot tell the difference between a bottleneck destined part and an ordinary one. The operator, in an attempt to keep busy, processes batch after batch of non bottleneck parts when what they really need to do is work on bottleneck parts. They attempt a solution for this by placing red and green tags on the parts which are destined for a bottleneck ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Jonah shows that they can use the same method to develop a release system for materials throughout the system. By knowing when the bottleneck parts will reach final assembly, the release of the non bottleneck materials can be timed to coincide along the other routes. Then Jonah indicates that after load balancing is performed to meet market demand without excess production, the next logical step is to reduce the batch sizes to reduce the total capital commitment used during production. Reduction in batch sizes also reduces the total time spent in work in process. Less time spent in production increases the speed of throughput as well as a faster turn around on customer orders. Shorter lead times result in better response to the market demands. (Jackson, Goldratt, Cox, American Media Incorporated, 1995) At this point the factory is operating at a capacity like never before. They have been shipping a record number of orders in a record amount of time. All of the orders past the shipping date have been completed and shipped. They are now shipping current orders on time and early in in some cases. Probability and Measures of Central Tendency Probability Measures of Central Tendency Part 1 The data collected for this paper will be the number of minutes spent on the commute to school each day for a ten day period. The commute is generally between 20 and 30 minutes, though traffic problems, particularly accidents, can greatly increase the time for the commute. Minutes Per Day Spent on Commuting EMBED Excel.Sheet.12 Part II Using the data you have collected in above, please do the following: Calculate the mean, median, and mode. The mean is the number many people refer to as the arithmetic average. It is the sum of the results divided by the total number of data points collected. The mean is: (23+23+27+22+19+30+32+23+24+47)/10 = 27 The median is the number in the middle of a distribution, once that distribution has been placed in ascending or descending order. In ascending order, the results are: 19, 22, 23, 23, 23, 24, 27, 30, 32, 47. Because 10 is an even number, the median is the mean of the two middle numbers. The two middle numbers are 23 and 24. Therefore, the median is 23.5. The mode is the number occurring most frequently in the distribution. The results are: 19, 22, 23, 23, 23, 24, 27, 30, 32, 47. Therefore, the mode is 23. Are these numbers higher or lower than you would have expected? The numbers are what I expected. Which of these measures of central tendency do you think most accurately describes the lifestyle variable you are looking at? Both the median and the mode do ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The reasoning behinds this is that it has a great symbolic meaning to it. The color symbolizes anything in the real world that has been tainted by the other world and is used to suggest really explosively emotional moments and situations. A scene that helps support this is when Cole was at the birthday party. Cole s red jumper at the kid s party, and the red balloon, both pre empt the ghost sobbing in the wall. It has also been said that the image of the balloon rising up towards the light through the center of the spiral staircase is representative of a spirit rising up towards God, with the staircase representing life s journey. The fact that Cole wears red here could be symbolic of his situation at this point: he is naive and uncertain, but is drawn to the voices nonetheless. Red is the color of the spirit world, and so by wearing it he is inadvertently drawing spirits towards him. Whenever Cole was scared he would run to the Church which had a big red door, or he would run to his sanctuary which was a red tent in his house. So, contradictorily, red is both a color of danger and ghosts, and of safety and refuge. I think the key to understanding this contradiction is in religion and all its contradictions and promises. Cole s understanding of religion is a simple one. He sees the church as a place to escape the spirits voices that are haunting him, and yet he enters possibly one of the most spiritual places ... • 10. How Did Emily Dickinson s Life Influence Her Poetry Emily Dickinson Her Life and Poetry Emily Elizabeth Dickinson was born December 10, 1830, into an influential family in Amherst, Massachusetts. Her father helped found Amherst College, where Emily later attended between 1840 and 1846. She never married and died in the house where she was born on May 15, 1886. Emily Dickinson s reclusive life was arguably a result of her proposed bi polar disorder. This life and disorder unduly influenced the themes of her poetry. She chose not to associate herself with society and volumes of her poems, published posthumously, examine this idea as well as the themes of nature and death. The clearest examples of these themes are presented in the following analysis of just of few of her ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This poem conjures images of a solemn ceremony in which the soul reigns superior by shutting out everyone, including the emperor, similar to the shutting out of everyone that Dickinson did. In one of Dickinson s most famous poems, I heard a Fly buzz, the theme of death is presented as well as a symptomatic characteristic of bi polar disorder. The poem itself epitomizes her preoccupation with death and the macabre and also shows how the small, normally ignorable sound of a fly buzzing becomes the only thing heard, she magnifies this sound in a situation when it seems that everything else is much more important, but this inability to drown out extraneous noises is typical of someone suffering from manic depression. The form of this poem employs all of Dickinson s formal patterns: trimeter and tetrameter iambic lines, her specific use of the dash to interrupt the meter of the poem, and it is in ABCB rhyme scheme. Two of Dickinson s universal techniques are metaphor and the fresh application of language; both techniques result in powerful images, and can be seen in two of her poems that focus on nature themes, A Bird came down the Walk and narrow Fellow. She closes the poem, A Bird with a stanza equating flight through the air with movement through water, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Game of Thrones is an award winning television show that first aired in 2011, and has just completed its seventh season. The show is based on fantasy novels created by the author George R.R. Martin, who also contributes to the show as a producer and scriptwriter. Game of Thrones takes place mainly in the fantasy continent known as Westeros, filled with seven kingdoms under one monarch. Some families fight for survival, others fight for the Iron Throne. The geography of Mars suggests that water was once there. This is because they have found runoff channels in the southern highlands and outflow channels that are almost exact to how they are on Earth, which obviously does have water. The Mars Reconnaissance Observer and Mars Express found deposits of clay in the southern highlands that some researchers say is a strong sign that water was there. • 15. The Love Song Of J. Alfred Prufrock Essay The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock by T.S. Elliot is in part a satire. It was written in the form of a dramatic monologue delivered by the poem s speaker, J. Alfred Prufrock. It begins with him asking an unknown you to accompany him on a walk. The two walk through town and stumbles upon women talking about Michelangelo at a social event. The women s bare arms and long dresses show off their knowledge of art. Prufrock wishes to talk to the women and is attracted to them sexually but he is afraid. The story tells of a man who at first seems lonely and longing for companionship. Yet with further investigation one can find a man who is suffering through a mid life crisis, a mental break down within himself. Do you think love is blind? J. Alfred Prufrock is afraid to approach the women because of his age and the way he is dressed. Prufrock has a bald spot and he is self conscious about it. Just by reading the title of this poem, the theme of love is obviously present. Although, when reading the title you may think this poem was about a love story about a couple or something along those lines but it turns out different then the reader would expect. The love song of J. Alfred Prufrock is weakly imbedded with love. Prufrock s unsure attitude causes him to miss out on opportunity. He never actually acts upon his feelings for the women talking about Michelangelo. In the poem he asks, Do I dare? as if he has something to risk. He almost overcomes his fear and talks to the ... • 18. Explain How Asexual Reproduction Is Different From Sexual... 1. Explain how asexual reproduction is different from sexual reproduction. Asexual reproduction is different from seucal reproduction because it reproduces through mitosis which clones the cell and results in the new cells being identical to the parent cell. However, sexual reproduction takes 50% (about) of the chromosomes of each parent to create a new diploid (zygote) which creates genetic variation and could be advantageous to evolving/natural selection. 2. Explain what happens during crossing over and when it occurs in meiosis. Crossing over occurs in prophase I which is the first prophase of meiosis. Two chromosomes each from one parent can physically connect and share genetic information (creating a chiasma). As a result, genetic variation increases. 3. How is metaphase I different from metaphase of mitosis? Metaphase I is different from metaphase of mitosis because in metaphase I homologous pairs are being separated and pulled to the opposite ends of the cell by microtubules. However, in metaphase of mitosis, sister chromatids are being separated to opposite ends of the cell. 4. Explain why sexual reproduction increases variation among offspring much more than asexual reproduction does. Sexual reproduction ensures that the offspring will be a combination traits from both the parents. Some traits from both parents will be present (hopefully advantageous ones) and some traits will be inactive (disadvantageous ones). This increases variation because no diploid ... Though the internet has provided many positive benefits, it has also brought along many negative aspects. In Evgeny Morozov s article, Technology s Role in Revolution. Internet Freedom and Political Oppression the authors argument revolves around cyber utopianism and realism in regard to the internets actual function. Morozov s article attempts to convince the reader the internet is a rather negative tool due to how the function of the internet has been more beneficial to governments by allowing the spread of propaganda and legitimacy, and its aid in authoritarianism. Morozov mainly focuses on how many people often seem to forget how the internet carries negative aspects, resulting in cyber utopianism, a naïve belief in the emancipatory nature of online communication that rests on a stubborn refusal to acknowledge its downsides. Morozov argues that cyber utopianism is not a realistic way of viewing the internet due to how the internet operates throughout different countries and because of the effect the internet has had on authoritarianism. Instead of the internet being a tool for the oppressed, Morozov suggests that it has become a bigger aid to governments. Though I do think that the internet is an important aid in helping with world issues, I do agree that there are more negative consequences. Packet Inspection Using a Hierarchical Pattern Matching Algorithm T. .Mukthar Ahamed Academic Consultant Dept. of CSE YSR Engineering College of YVU Proddatur, India tmukthar@gmail.com Abstract: Detection engines capable of inspecting packet payloads for application layer network information are urgently required. The most important technology for fast payload inspection is an efficient multipattern matching algorithm, which performs exact string matching between packets and a large set of predefined patterns. This paper proposes a novel Enhanced Hierarchical Multipattern Matching Algorithm (EHMA) for packet inspection. Based on the occurrence frequency of grams, a small set of the most frequent grams is discovered and used in the EHMA. EHMA is a two tier and cluster wise matching algorithm, which significantly reduces the amount of external memory accesses and the capacity of memory. Using a skippable scan strategy, EHMA speeds up the scanning process. Furthermore, independent of parallel and special functions, EHMA is very simple and therefore practical for both software and hardware implementations. Simulation results reveal that EHMA significantly improves the matching performance. The speed of EHMA is about 0.89 1,161 times faster than that of current matching algorithms. Even under real life intense attack, EHMA still performs well. Index Terms Inspection, Detection, pattern matching, network security, signatures. 1. Introduction: A variety of ... A Surprising Number Of Problems Arise From Tight Hamstrings A surprising number of problems arise from tight hamstrings and, given the frequency of knee injuries among athletes and dancers, it s obvious that the methods used to keep them free could be better. This article presents a more effective way to free your hamstrings, improve your performance, and avoid injury. A Look at Your Hamstrings The hamstrings are the muscles that run from behind and below your knees up the backs of your thighs to your sitbones . Soft tissue injuries, knee pain, torn menisci (the cartilage pads in your knees that cushion the bones), chondromalacia patelli (painful wearing of the cartilage behind the kneecaps), and poor posture often come from tight hamstrings. As you can see, hamstring tension has far reaching effects on movement, balance, and the health of joints. Why Stretching Doesn t Protect 100% Against Hamstring Pulls and Soft Tissue Injuries Knowing all this, athletes and dancers attempt to stretch their hamstrings. Attempt is the correct word because stretching produces only limited and temporary effects, which is one reason why so many athletes (and dancers) suffer pulled hamstrings and knee injuries. As anyone who has had someone stretch their hamstrings for them knows, forcible stretching is also usually a painful ordeal. In addition, stretching the hamstrings disrupts their natural coordination with the quadriceps muscles, which is why ones legs feel shaky after stretching the hamstrings. Fortunately, there is a more effective way to manage hamstring tension than by stretching. To understand how it works, one must first recognize that hamstrings that need stretching are usually holding tension that is, they are actively contracting. In that case, the person is holding them tense by habit, unconsciously. Oddly enough, if one tries to relax them, one is likely to find that one cannot; one may then assume that the muscles are completely relaxed and need stretching. You may not realize that those muscles are contracting on automatic due to postural habits stored in your central nervous system. Any attempt to stretch them simply re triggers the impulse to re contract them to restore ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are three different types found in the human body: continuous, fenestrated, and sinusoid. The differences in each function has to do with the location in the body. Continuous Capillaries: Has a continuous lining of endothelial cells. Found in the skeletal muscle, lung, and many types of connective tissue. Fenestrated Capillaries: Contains intracellular clefts and small holes called fenestra. These vessels allow small molecules as well, as limited amounts of nutrients, to pass through their walls. Germany is by a long distance the largest consumer of energy in Europe it is especially reliant on foreign sources of energy in the form of fossil fuels. Germany is the seventh largest consumer of energy in the world, (EIA 2013) and because Germany has an insufficient amount of local oil and gas reserves to fuel its economy it imports most if not all of its gas and oil needs. Germany s central position and size on the European continent ensures that Germany s relationship with its neighbours is affected to a large degree by this dependence as Oil remains the most significant although declining energy source in Germany, accounting for 32% in 2010.
