Reflection About God
God, as we all know, can be the most loving being since he is love. All throughout the old testament
we see different places where God has shown his love and compassion towards people. One example
of this is when God makes Adam and Eve. God gives them dominion over the earth and everything on
it.
God created man in his image; in the divine image he created him; male and female he created them.
28 God blessed them, saying: Be fertile and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it. Have dominion over
the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and all the living things that move on the earth. 29 God also
said: See, I give you every seed bearing plant all over the earth and every tree that has seed bearing
fruit on it to be your food; 30 and to all the animals of the land, all the birds of the air, and all the
living creatures that crawl on the ground, I give all the green plants for food. And so it happened. 31
God looked at everything he had made, and he found it very good. Evening came, and morning
followed the sixth day.
As you can see God is willing enough to give an entire planet to two humans who he has created. That
is a lot of love and trust to give someone. God is also willing to give Adam and Eve everything to their
hands. He loves them so much that he does not want them to suffer and work for everything they will
need. This is one example is God s love towards people. Another example of God s love is when God
allows Abraham and Sarah, who can not have children

Edgar Allan Poe s The Purloined Letter
In Edgar Allan Poe s The Purloined Letter, the reader is introduced to an unnamed narrator who also
reviews the murders in, The Murders in the Rogue. He sits with his friend, C. Auguste Dupin, who
solved them in that story. In The Purloined Letter, the prefect of the Paris police arrives and presents
his case: a letter has been taken from the royal apartments, but the police know who has taken the
letter. According to the prefect, a young woman possessed the letter, which contains sensitive
information that could sabotage the image of a powerful official. The individual responsible for taking
the letter is Minister D another important government official. Minister D reads the letter and writes a
replica of his own. Upon leaving the royal apartment, he takes the original letter and leaves his replica
behind. Duplin throughout the story argues, that the Paris police cannot follow the game that Minister
D is playing when it comes to finding the location of the letter. The Paris police are only searching for
the letter in places where they believe the letter would be hidden. Therefore, Minister D is wise
enough to not hide it in familiar places like areas in his home. ... Show more content on

Duplin then replaces the original letter with a fake letter, but the reason behind placing another letter is
a key moment. Duplin leaves the fake letter to essentially embarrass Minster D when he finds that the
letter he possesses is a fake. This twist becomes important when the reader finds that Duplin was
made a fool in Vienna by Minster D and in the fake letter, Duplin writes, Un dessein si funeste, S il n
est digne d Atree, est digne de Thyeste (Poe). The ending brings the story together because these are
two different people, but they share the same thinking

Risks And Challenges Of Indian Construction Industry
RISKS AND CHALLENGES IN INDIAN CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY
Risk in Construction needless to mention, with huge money, comes the company of big risks. In the
area of Indian construction, the risks are abundant, due to the involvement of legal, political, financial
and cultural complexities. As far as construction in India is concerned, there is lack of experience, but
the opportunities for growth for companies willing to enter the arena are immense. The domestic
construction industry is growing at a rapid pace, due to high demand for housing and increase in
expenditure on infrastructure. All of the most challenging projects across country involve a variety of
complex processes working simultaneously. Every critical activity is associated with a risk and can
negatively affect the project objectives, such as time and schedule, cost and quality of work. The
number of risks arising from a task is directly proportional to the number of people working on it.
Mismanagement is one of the various sources of risk. These days, most of the big projects are sublet
to sub contractors, and therefore risk assessment and mitigation has become more and more
challenging. (McKinsey Company, 2009) (Sharmila Pimplikar, n.d.)
As a developing country, India has not focused on risk management. Construction projects in India
face various types of risks such as business risks, financial risks, technology risk, project risk and
political risk. Most common challenges encountered by the construction

Mgm Mirage Case Study
MGM Mirage
Introduction of the Company
MGM Mirage is one of the largest gaming industries in the United States and specifically Las Vegas,
Nevada. The two people responsible for the start of this empire are Kirk Kerkorian and Steven Wynn.
Kirk Kerkorian opened up the first MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1973. Steven Wynn moved
to Las Vegas in 1967 and after investing in land on the strip he later opened up the Mirage, followed
by Treasure Island and the Bellagio. The MGM Mirage was created during the merger in 2000, and

6. Airline Cuts
Airlines might cut down on services to Las Vegas and other vacation destinations if the economy
doesn t recover quickly. This would hurt tourism and revenues on the Las Vegas Strip. With less
people traveling it becomes more expensive for airlines to fly back an forth to destinations. 7.
Government Intervention
Government intervention could put downside pressure on the stock. Possible government intervention
increases risk, because the government is a big customer and has a history of making adverse changes
to the operating ability of companies in every industry. A government regulated industry increases
political risk, because government actions may not be in the best interest of citizen of that particular
country. Governments are usually inefficient with spending money.
Regulations are meant to protect the environmental and consumers. They take the form of permits,
package, etc

Peter And Edmond Relationship
Encountering Jadis Peter and Edmond encounter the White Witch in different ways, yet by the end of
the novel they both despised her. They both hated her. They both deplored her. Edmond met the White
Witch; because he followed Lucy into the wardrobe. At first the Witch treated the strange being,
Edmond, like any other subject, with harshness and cruelty. However, once the White Witch
discovered that Edmond was a son of Adam, she deceived and bribed him, promising that when she
died he would rule the kingdom of Narnia, as a magnificent king. With his ego full of praise, Edmond
saw no reason to fear the so called queen of Narnia. Thus, Edmond made a foolish decision to stray

Abstract In this paper data aggregation using multipath routing is proposed. In existing system, under
hybrid scheme, it each sensor nodes generates information by sensing its physical environment and
transmit to sink by multi hop communication. In network aggregation computation intermediate
forwarding nodes can substantially increase the network life time but amount of data contained in
single packet and make the system vulnerability to packet loss. Instead of retransmission it takes the
additional time. Multi path routing multipath multi speed routing protocol is used to improving the
performance of data aggregation due to avoiding these problems.
Keywords Data aggregation, Multipath routing, Greedy shortest Path, Frequent connection,

Adolf Hitler Good And Evil Essay
Good and evil is an ever present feature of human history. Their presence is reflected through the ages
in tales of great heroism and extraordinary villainy. Such tales provides insight into human nature,
whether they involve two people or two thousand. The essence of heroism and villainy are found in
deeds rather than in numbers. It is the deeds that pique our interest and lead us to wonder what
prompts a man or woman to perform such acts.
Adolf Hitler was a man that left you to wonder was there any good in him among all that hatred he
displayed towards others. He was a man that grew up in a strict home and struggled to make it in
society which eventually led him to take his life experiences and rise to power of the Nazi nation and
the Germans. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The display of his behavior continues to grow due to the dark secrets he perceived from his
background. He dropped out of school at the age of sixteen because he was unhappy. Hitler began to
roam around for a couple years, and during those years he started to develop his psyche personality
traits. He enjoyed seeing people with disabilities picked on and hurt at the expense of other people.
Adolf was drawn to death and fascinated by anything that depicted death. His personality started
growing stronger and stronger with hate. Hitler drifted for years working odd jobs and eventually was
homeless in which a German Jew helped him out. He moved from place to place and landed in
Munich were at the outbreak of World War I led him to join the German army. With the loss of the war
in 1914, Hitler felt humiliated, angry and betrayed. He used his anger and frustration to begin his
political activities in 1920. Hitler was able to manipulate his audience by playing on their bruise egos
and fears from the loss of the war. Once Hitler gain power, he would speak at rallies that started out in
a small number of followers that soon led to thousands. He was able to gain their trust and led them to
believe in what he believed. He was a man of little education but was able to gain leadership through
the power of his speech and the dedication he shown towards his followers. Hitler was viewed as one

Can Utilitarianism Be Defended Against The Injustice...
Can Utilitarianism be defended against the Injustice Objection? In this essay, I will argue that
utilitarianism cannot be defended against the injustice objection. Utilitarians may be able to reply to
the injustice objection in some cases by invoking one of two replies, the Long term consequences
reply, in which utilitarians will avoid unjust actions that increase short term utility because in the long
term they will not lead to the greatest good. The other reply that may help utilitarianism avoid
injustice in some cases is the Secondary principles reply, where some rule based principles such as not
murdering (because it generally decreases happiness) may avoid injustice. However, I will focus on
the bite the bullet objection, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An example of this is in the case of R v Dudley and Stephens (1884), where Dudley, Stephens, and
Brookes ate the cabin boy Parker, after they were shipwrecked for 24 days at sea. Although this act
maximised utility for the most people, Parker s rights were infringed upon as he did not agree to being
killed and eaten. Therefore when we add up the pain and pleasures of all those affected we may end up
infringing someone s rights. The act that maximises utility may cause unhappiness and misery for the
minority.
There are three standard replies to the injustice objection. The first being the Long term consequences
objection, where a person following utilitarianism is not obligated to commit an injustice, and that
person should take into account the long term consequences of their actions. An example I would like
to refer to is the harvesting organs example. Where there are five sick people in hospital and they all
need organ transplants, at the same time a sixth patient is undergoing a routine checkup. A transplant
surgeon finds that the only way of saving the five would be to kill the sixth person and harvest their
organs. Utilitarianism would state that we should harvest the organs of person 6 without his
permission to save the lives of the five other people who are dying. A utilitarian would explain that the
action of

Biography Of Mary Shelley
MARY SHELLEY
Mary Wollestonecraft (Godwin) Shelley was born on August 30, 1797 in London, England to
philosopher William Godwin and feminist Mary Wollestonecraft; both her parents were well noted
writers. Mary herself grew up to be a very well known English novelist, short story writer, dramatist,
essayist, biographer, and travel writer and is best known for her novel Frankenstein.
Wollestonecraft passed away soon after Mary was born and therefore Mary was raised by her father
who provided her with a rich and informal education and encouraged her to adhere his own political
liberal theories. A voracious reader, Mary borrowed books from her father s extensive library. She
enjoyed writing at a young age, and her passion was to write stories intended for a very limited
audience.
In 1814, Mary began a romance with one of her father s political followers, the then married Percy
Bysshe Shelley. Together with Mary s stepsister Claire Clairmont, Mary and Shelley left for France
and traveled through Europe. Upon their return to England, Mary was pregnant with Percy s child.
Over the next two years, she and Percy faced ostracism, constant debt, and the death of their
prematurely born daughter. They married in late 1816, after the suicide of Percy Shelley s first wife,

Long And Short Term Effects Of Caffeine
Caffeine is the most widely consumed drug in the world (Harland 2000). This naturally occurring
substance found in more than 60 plants is ingested mainly through coffee and tea (Harland 2000;
Malek et al. 2006; Paluska 2003). 100mg of caffeine is found in the average cup of coffee (Paluska

Chaos Is A Modern Science That Changed The Way Scientists...
Chaos is a modern science that has changed the way scientists look to the world. It studies the
behaviour of nonlinear systems according to their initial state. We can see chaotic behaviour almost
everywhere. As an example, rising of cigarette smoke behaviour seems smooth at the beginning then
suddenly it breaks into wild swirls. A flag moves back and forth in a chaotic way, a dripping faucet
goes from a steady pattern to a random one. Chaos appears in the behaviour of the weather, the
behaviour of world economics, and the behaviour of fluid turbulence. Despite the environment of the
system, the behaviour follows the same newly discovered laws. The realization of chaos theory has
begun to change the way we think about the future [1].
The chaos term introduced in the field of dynamics while studying the behaviour of nonlinear system
that is essentially depends on its initial condition. Strogatz in his book defined the term Chaos as a
periodic long term behaviour in a deterministic system that exhibits sensitive dependence on initial
conditions [2].
Logistic equation is an example of one dimensional attractor. In order for us to study complicated
phenomena we have to understand higher order attractor functions. Henon attractor is an example of
two dimensional attractor. It was introduced by a theoretical astronomer Michel Henon while he was

Workplace Bullying And The Workplace
Workplace bullying is something that is a big contemporary problem, that I feel is often pushed under
the rug and not discussed. Workplace bullying can effect a person s health, and it can also affect their
role as it relates to their workplace performance. I would like to discuss workplace bullying to help
those that has been through this or is currently going through this. I want to provide different steps
workers can take if they feel they are being bullied in their workplace. According to the Workplace
Bullying Institute (2015) workplace bullying is repeated, health harming mistreatment of one or more
persons (the targets) by one or more perpetrators. Bullying in the workplace is one of the most
contemporary problems I feel that we are faced with today. According to the Waitt Institute (2016)
Workplace Bullying is an Epidemic and 37% of American workers, an estimated 54 million people,
have been bullied at work.
Types of Bullying
There are different types of bullying that take place. Workplace bullying can consist of verbal abuse
using choice words such as a form of attacking another person. Another type of bullying can be
offensive behavior that can consist of verbal or nonverbal, it can also be threatening and humiliating,
or intimidating actions towards another person. Workplace bullying can also be a person interfering
with another person work such as trying to sabotage their work. Bullying can be aggressive towards
another person with threats or screams.

Arguments For Gun Control
Introduction Gun control has become a controversial topic in the United States. It has formed the
foundation of many debates, which have resulted into general arguments that either support or refute
the gun control regulations. The gun control laws were first enacted by the Congress in 1930 s. The
federal and state laws stipulate the groups of people who are prohibited from owning firearms. These
groups include fugitives, illegal aliens, individuals who have been pronounced to have unsound mind
by a court, felons, individuals who have been restricted from serving in the army, people who are no
longer US citizens, persons with restraining orders for domestic violence, and people who are addicted
to substance use. The gun control laws have set 21 years as the minimum age for people to buy a gun
from a federally licensed gun dealer only and 18 years as the minimum legal age for owning a gun and
transfers from any unlicensed firearm dealer. The main objective of these federal laws is to prevent
individuals from owning guns illegally, limit handling concealed guns outside the homestead, stipulate
terms and conditions that prevent people from owning guns, and control the design of guns so as to
improve public safety. Improving public safety is the most fundamental role of the gun control laws.
Innocent lives being lost as a result of increased gun violence should be put to an end through gun
control.
The Case for Gun Control
Gun control measures will decrease the diversions of guns to criminals. Possession of firearms among
criminals is only possible through unlicensed gun retailers. Unlicensed gun retailers operating in the
black market often sell guns to criminals illegally. It has, therefore, become easier for people of all
ages to be in possession of firearms illegally. According to Webster et.al, federal regulations on gun
control among retail gun sellers are very weak (Webster et.al, p 6 9). The Congress has continually
weakened the existing federal regulations. Weak federal regulations on retail gun sellers are
contributing to the increasing diversion of guns to criminals. Strengthening these federal regulations
will go a long way in reducing the accessibility of guns by criminals.
Furthermore, the right to

Effects Of Invasive Plants
The devastating effects of rangeland invasive plants have influencedeffect many natural resources, as
well as humans lives, without them knowing about it. The impacts of the invasion vary from place to
place. Invasive plant species have numerous effects on the ecosystem goods and services provided by
rangelands ( Basics of Invasive Species ). The resources that are gathered from rangelands are
affectedeffected by the invasive plant species, all of those effects become one great issue that humans
need to try and solve. Livestock is one of the major factors that are impacted by the introduction of
invasive plants. These unwanted plants impact grazing lands by lowering yield and quality of forage
for livestock, impeding access to desirable forage, poisoning animals, increasing costs of managing
and producing livestock, and reducing grazing land value (Techline News). All of these impacts are
the part of a larger ecological impact that can kill livestock, and other plants and animals living in that
area. All of these ecological issues create a big enough picture to see what is really going on when one
plant invades, the invasions hurt the environment and ecosystem.
Several financial impacts of these invasive rangeland plants, appear in the livestock market as well as
many other agricultural related markets; these losses affecteffect all consumers that would purchase or
use agricultural related products. The beliefs of many people are that rangeland plant invasions will

Malice Murder Case
The role of malice in determining the level of criminal homicide will have to do with if there was or
was not malice aforethought involved with the criminal homicide. Because malice distinguished
murder and manslaughter, it was imperative for the courts to define that term. Framers of the Model
Penal Code considered malice to be so ill defined, that they abandoned the concept altogether in
distinguishing between murder and manslaughter (Brody and Acker, 2010).

Piaget Of Piaget s Sensorimotor Stage Essay
Vignette I This behavior can be explained by Piaget s sensorimotor stage. Piaget discovered that from
the time they are born until they reach about the age of two, children experience the world through
their senses (Myers, 2010, p. 181). Infants, up until about 8 months, also are also extremely focused
on the present and have not yet developed a sense of object permanence, which can lead to the out of
sight, out of mind mindset (Myers, 2010, p. 181). This is evident in the situation at hand, in which a
young child does not recognize a relative seen only months earlier. The child most likely had not yet
developed a sense of object permanence the last time the relative visited, and was quickly forgotten.
Therefore, when the relative was seen by the child after it had begun to remember that things out of
sight did not cease to exist, the child must have developed stranger anxiety from not seeing the
relative. A constructive solution to this situation would be for the relative to simply visit more often.
This would allow the child to get familiar towards the relative, and also help to become increasingly
attached to the relative (Myers, 2010, p. 190). The child would then no longer fear its well meaning
relative. Not to mention, the relative would cease to worry that the young child is being spoiled.
Vignette II Vignette two can be explained by Piaget s preoperational stage. This accounts for children
2 to about 6, and is characterized by using intuitive logic. (Myers,

Cuneiform History
Cuneiform was an early form of wedge shaped writing developed by ancient Sumerians around the
late 4th millennium B.C. Named after the Latin word cuneus or wedge shaped , cuneiform was
recorded on clay tablets with pointed reed sticks. Archaeologists have located many of these tablets at
various archaeological sites in modern day Iraq. Only highly educated Sumerian scribes could actually
read and write cuneiform, creating social disparities between the educated rich and the laboring poor.
Other early forms of writing, such as Akkadian, Babylonian, Assyrian, and Persian languages, were
based on the principles of cuneiform. This early language provided the roots for other written
languages all around the world (Nardo 81 84).
Ziggurats were tall pyramid shaped buildings that served as templates for local Mesopotamian gods.
With first versions built in Sumer in the later 4th millennium B.C. they evolved from a simple large
platform to intricately designed, multi story buildings. Ancient Mesopotamians saw the ziggurats as
the connection between humanity and their local god. Located in the center of Mesopotamian cities,
they symbolized the power of the gods and the priests who communicated with the gods ( Ziggurats

the use of technological tools to improve service to our patients, our physicians, and our staff. The
Ohio State University Medical Center identifiable issues with regards to the development, integration,
and use of PHR is the lack of communication and understanding between healthcare providers,
information technology services, and patients. Effective communication requires the utilization of
collaboration and leadership to create an organization that uses innovated technology to provide the
highest level of patient care. Problem Statement Personal Health Records have improved patient care,
but as an organization the Ohio State University Medical Center is not embracing change and working
together to utilize technology. The problem is poor communication and leadership, due to poor
understanding of the clinicians need. Information technology services update the PHR program
without first understanding what improvements clinicians need and secondly, end users are not being
educated on the updates; therefore, are not utilizing new features or the features do not meet the needs
of clinicians. Figure 1 illustrates the current flow of information between healthcare providers and

Las Vegas City Life

Las Vegas, seat of Clark County in southeast Nevada, is the largest city in the state and one of the
fastest growing cities in the United State. Las Vegas has a favorable business climate: taxes are
relatively low, and there are neither city nor state income taxes. This is because gambling and sales
taxes, paid by tourists, have allowed the city and state government to avoid personal and corporate
income taxes. Las Vegas offers more than 310 days of sunshine per year as well as mild, sunny winters
and low humidity year round. The Las Vegas inland desert area is virtually free of tornados and ice
storms.
Shopping New York, London, Paris, they have got nothing on us. Las Vegas is home to some of the
most specular shopping in the world. Shopping in Las Vegas beats shopping anywhere else in the
world. Look at some of the various shopping centers in town to see what stores they offer, and even
what incredible restaurants they have to keep you fueled. Decide what stores you love, or just wander
and explore stores you have never visited before. And shopping in Las Vegas might just be the most
fun you have ever had. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Similarities Between The Odyssey And The Test Of The Great...
Throughout time The Test of the Great Bow has been interpreted in many different ways. Through
Homer s 21 book of The Odyssey, Thomas O Grady s poem The Test of the Bow , and Romare
Bearden s painting The Bow of Odysseus. All three share the same story of Odysseus journey to go
home, string his bow, and win back his beloved wife Penelope. All of the authors interpretations have
similarities and differences shown through tone, conflict and theme through each piece. The readers
are given three very different ideas of tone through each interpretation. Both Homer s 21 book of The
Odyssey, and the poem The Test of the Bow have very similar tones. They both have a powerful and
revitalizing tones. This is because they both focus on Odysseus ... Show more content on

Once you know your own strengths anything is possible and don t doubt the underdog. The Contest
with Odysseus Bow shows this by having the suitors think Odysseus is a poor, irrelevant beggar.
However, he proves himself to be the strongest when he did not miss, not even a single top on all the
axe heads. (Homer 65 66) In The Test of the Bow once Odysseus knew his strengths and what he
could do he proved himself the master of them all. (O Grady 15) Bearden s painting shows not to

in the slightest. They had no faith in him and didn t think much of

Steps to Survival Essay
The Day in Pat Frank s Alas, Babylon is that one terrifying, unanticipated, and shocking day when
bombs drop on many large and important cities in the United States. This day puts many people into
situations that they are not used to. They must adapt to the world rather than try to live their regular
live which is now nonexistent. If one is sick, good luck getting medication; scared, good luck finding
food when the supply runs out. The mentally and physically strong survive and the weak die, that is
the rule of life. Randy Bragg was forced into a leading position because he knew that a leader is
needed if his family wanted to survive. He is forced to put his selfishness aside for the survival of him
and his family and was willing to do ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is not only about going out and getting it but also about getting it fast. That is why in Pat Frank s
Alas, Babylon the group of survivors put together their gasoline and only drove the most fuel efficient
car. Ideas like this could help one survive until the nuclear war ends or until there is no need to travel
anymore. The only other physical preparation varies from a number of things that are essential and
sometimes overlooked by many. The most important steps to survival are those that are instinct and
essential. When the bombs are dropped there is not much time depending on how far away the bomb
is to prepare. Some basic things that most people do not think of like are opening windows and doors
downstairs and filling up pails and bath tubs with water (Frank 97). Any water after the bombs would
become radiated. This means once one run out of water in the pails and tubs, one will need to find a
way to make the radiated water drinkable, or find an alternate source of water. In Pat Frank s Alas,
Babylon, this alternate source was the artesian water which smelled like rotten eggs but was better
than no water at all (Frank 151). Another alternate source of water is wells and water tanks, no
contaminated water or particles have a chance to get into the water so it is safe to drink (Kearny 71).
Water is an essential item that many people take for granted in normal life. Many

Hoop Dreams Film Analysis
Whilst watching Hoop Dreams , the respect that is held for William Gates and Arthur Agee by the
filmmakers Steve James, Peter Gilbert and Frederick Marx within the observational documentary (Bill
Nichols, 2001) is obvious, and their decorum after the film s release remains an integral part of the
film s legacy. As a whole, documentaries often do not perform as well as their narrative film
counterparts, and so when Hoop Dreams soared beyond expectations to make $11.8million at the box
office worldwide (according to BoxOfficeMojo.com), the filmmakers famously gave Gates and Agee
around $200,000 a piece in royalties. Paying for a social actor s involvement in the film is the subject

As Sheila presents herself on screen as being a strong and proud woman, the filmmakers ethically
document her asking direct to camera Do you ever ask yourself how I get by on $268 a month and
keep this house and feed these children? Do you ever ask yourself that question? The largely white,
upper or middle class intended audience for this film would be shocked by such questions appearing
in their own lives. Too many of them embraced Ronald Reagan s cartoon of Welfare Queens and now
endorse Newt Gingrich s even more vicious slanders on welfare mothers. (Sperber, 1996) The
filmmakers themselves then give Sheila the money to pay for her utility bills in this moment of
despair. This act of generosity and kindness is exemplified in it s ethical nature, as the moment itself is
never shown on camera, but came out after the film s release. It is clear from this that it was not done
to further the image of the filmmakers, but rather to show support for a family who had been so
accommodating for the years spent making this film. That was the kind of situation where we try to be
human beings in the process, notes Steve James. (Leeman, 2003) But at the same time, capture the
realities of their lives in as honest a way as we could without compromising our essential humanness.
We need to be more than just filmmakers. And it s a tough line to

Comparison Of Feminism In The Arabian Nights
Dasha Kofman
Arabian Nights Paper
11/14/17
Abstract
In my paper I will discuss how Sharazade s role as a woman allows her to act as an advocate for
female empowerment, through literature and storytelling. Initially, I will focus on the feminist role of
Sharazade and how she is placed within her circumstances: 1001 nights of storytelling to the King to
spare her life and the masses of woman after her. I will then go on to examine how Sharazade
champions the case of feminine within her tales. She does so by intertwining female characters of
power and intelligence. I will then go on to examine how women are viewed within the story, from
slaves to warriors. Finally, I will take both Sharazades perception of feminism and how they are
viewed within the story to examine their value within the story s setting, and the greater world.
Sharazade reveals the harsh truth behind how women are portrayed in literature and the intensity in
which they are finalized. She is allowing us to understand that women can not be placed under an
umbrella term, but rather are distinct individuals who play in the structure of society both good and
bad. Although they are portrayed as such, women aren t just women but are first and foremost, people.
Shahrazad: Icon of Feminism
The Arabian Nights also known as One Thousand and One Nights is a tale about Shahryar whom the
reader refers to as the Sasanian king. Shahrazade, the heroine of The Arabian Nights, has been noted
as a women s activist figure in literature, a woman who utilizes her intelligence to spare not only her
own life, but the lives of women to come. In the frame story, King Shahriyar find out that his wife is
committing adultery. The king then begins to order for virgins to satisfy his sexual pleasures and kill
them before they commit the same atrocities. Every night for three years, he took a virgin to his bed
and then killed her in the morning. When the virgins run out, the daughter offers herself and the tales
of 1001 Nights begins; These tales often criticized by many people who argue that women are not
tools to satisfy a man s pleasures. Her plan is simple yet cunning she uses stories of thrill and marvel
to keep herself alive as long as it takes to save the

If you ve never been in a street fight, and boxing is too technical to follow, then before you sprint to

pulsar travelling at a good chunk of light speed just did to a disk of matter orbiting a giant star. Bruce
Lee said to kick to the moon, but Chandra just captured this pulsar just punting the equivalent of a
planet into interstellar space.
CHANDRA HAS THE BEST SEAT IN THE HOUSE
Astronomers using the Chandra X Ray Observatory orbiting the Earth witnessed the gigantic star

Zoot Suit Essay
The play is titled Zoot Suit because the clothing transcends the play. It could either represent historic
Chicano style or criminal garb. The zoot suit comes to represent the struggle of Mexican Americans to
be accepted into American culture. This play shines light on that struggle, not just a single murder
case, but the broader cultural impact that the zoot suit had.
The zoot suit is critical to the story s progression. The family conversation before the dance show the
intergenerational conflict between the kids and parents. The mother and father are against Henry,
Rudy, and Lupe s sense of fashion. Not only because Lupe s skirt is revealing, but because they are
dressed like pachucos, which includes the zoot suit. In the parent s eyes, the ... Show more content on

This associated the violence nature of the accident with Chicanos and their zoot suits. Because of this,
the entire culture became vigilant to anyone wearing a zoot suit. The press causes this state of fear in
the Los Angeles community which helps the audience understand that the boys are not liked, even
though they are portrayed to us as protagonists.
The discrimination towards the pachuco and zoot suit culture can be seen in the trial. Now that the
press has labeled the zoot suit as a criminal outfit, having the boys in court wearing the zoot suit adds
to the anger towards the boys. They are perceived as dirty Mexicans by the jury and their peers.
George notes that the system is unfair, having the boys ungroomed and in controversial clothes would
lead to an unfair trial. This adds fuel against the Chicano culture. The zoot suit and those who wear it
become the target for racism during Act 6. We can see the press is out to frame zooters as the enemy.
They are relentlessly racist and use their power to demean El Pachuco. This angers El Pachuco and
leads him to fight and be stripped of his luxorious zoot suit, being belittled to nothing. This
symbolizes pachuco culture going at war with the press and losing because of the power they have to

the film Shattered Glass, the viewer is able to grasp a greater understanding of the central character in

kind, unique, manipulative, and, overall, interesting character. In the beginning of the movie, his
coworkers in the office fall in love with him, making him everyone s favorite. Abruptly, everything

One little mistake ended up exposing him completely, landing him with no job and no friends who
have his back. Stephen Glass published his biggest article yet, Hack Heaven , where he falsely
reported an immense amount of information. He claimed that he was present at the event taking place
regarding a hacker convention, but in reality he was not. In fact, none of it was true, every single detail
he wrote in the article was fake news. Glass argued that he acquired enough information from other
random sources he came across, leading him to believe nobody would find out if he had no personal
fact to back up the information himself. He made up fake people, quoted them, referenced different
nonexistent companies, and participated in other unethical actions. Everything began deteriorating
when a man named Adam Penenberg, a writer for another newspaper, dug further into Glass story.
Starting as theories, Penenberg and his co worker Andy Fox built up a case and began supporting it
with facts, finally becoming confident with the fact that Stephen Glass fabricated the entire piece,
Hack Heaven . Facts such as dates and times did not match up with Glass statements and neither did
websites and phone numbers. For example, Penenberg told Stephen Glass that the website for one of
the sources that he mentioned in his article, Juke Micronics, was not believable. He said, Quite

Addictions A Banquet In The Grave Summary
The book Addictions A Banquet in the Grave was very informative. I viewed the purpose of the book
as being for the author to share his beliefs about several things. He explained his belief about how the
Bible speaks about addictions, addresses the issue of addictions, the spiritual side of addictions that
get disregarded during counseling and how the bible is a really important tool to use to address
addictions. His book also gave me an overview of the spiritual realism of addictions. Moreover, the
book is divided into two parts. Part one of the book was a theological viewpoint. For example, Jim s
story is one of the stories used to help the reader understand the nature of addiction. Jim struggled
with his alcohol addiction. He had been sober for years and he mentioned how he is angry at God
because of his alcohol addiction. He compared himself to most people whom he stated do not have to

However, Jim was considered to be well educated in biblical theology. It was identified that Jim
operates out of two contrary systems and he does not know what to believe. His struggles are with
temptations. Furthermore explained was how looking to scripture was something we did and since the
psychotherapeutic of the 1960 s the Christian community looks to secular psychotherapies for
guidance of how to live successfully. Welch, struggles with the thought of addiction being a sin,
sickness, or both. While reading the book Welch opens up the door for us to view the problem of
addiction differently. While I was reading the book I started falling into the thought that he wanted us
to review treating addiction through a different lens such as the lens of scripture. For example, Welch
mentions that when our desires are conflicting to with scripture, human beings do not always live

The Wright Brothers And The First Flight
n Dr. Amentrout s lecture he discussed the process of scientific discovery, using the Wright Brothers
and their journey to the first flight . Along, with the Wright Brothers, he used four other aeronautics
pioneers. Dr. Amentorut described the process in five simple steps: 1. Go with your passion 2. Be
willing 3. Learn what has been done before 4. Let the ideas flow 5. Don t give up when the
unexpected happens. The Wright brothers spark for aviation began in 1878, Wilbur, the oldest at
eleven years old and Orville, seven, when their father gave them a toy helicopter. It sparked them to
take it apart and remake it better than it was before they took it apart. Like many other successful
people, but not all, the Wright brothers did not go to college. Even though Wilbur was accepted into
Yale, he decided not to go because he had his teeth knocked out a few weeks prior. This was his set
back, being that he really wanted to go. Despite this setback, in 1892, Wilbur started his bicycle
business, manufacturing and producing bikes. He designed and hand made them himself. He went
with his passion that he found at the age of eleven, creating and designing. Wilbur Wright was also
willing to try something different, and go a different route. When the Wright brothers decided to aim
for the first flight, flight in general, they looked back at previous work of those before them.

Theodosius II
The Roman world, having been divided in half following the death of Theodosius I would never again
unite. While the Western Empire disintegrated under its own internal pressures and the barbarian
menace while the Byzantine Empire to the east, stood firm during the time of crisis and prevailed, why
this is the case is up to debate. Thus a close examination on how the Byzantine Empire used force and
diplomacy to create stability during the reign of Theodosius II is necessary. However, to be able to
understand why the Byzantine Empire was able to play the game of diplomacy so well especially
during the reign of Theodosius II, a brief look into the how stability and unity was created in the
Byzantine court must be taken into account. Additionally, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Through a stroke of luck the Praetorian Prefect Anthemius was able to stabilise the first few years of
Theodosius II s reign. Furthermore, it was during this time that the Byzantine Empire was able to
secure an almost unbroken peace between them and the Sassanid Persian Empire, though it was
disturbed by a brief interlude of war due to Christian zeal inspired by Pulcheria, the Byzantine Empire
was able to stabilise the eastern frontier through skilful use of diplomacy. The newly formed Vandal
Kingdom presented a special challenge as it compromised the integrity of the Roman world. The
situation had to be handled delicately for the Huns continued to encroach on Byzantine territory and
had to be first dealt with, and although the taskforce failed to drive the Vandals out of North Africa,
the Byzantine Empire was able to once again achieve peace and stability through the use of
diplomacy. The Huns, in particular Attila s Empire presented a special challenge for the Byzantine
Empire but through exploitation and diplomacy the Byzantine Empire outlasted Attila. Though
Theodosius II never lived to see the fall of Attila s Empire, his reign did indeed provide stability
through diplomacy and thus creating a platform for the Byzantine Empire to flourish well into the 14th

Tom Brennan Social Justice Quotes
The concept of social justice is based of human rights and equality, this is the way people are treated
in everyday life. The text I am currently studying is The story of Tom Brennan and I am seeing how
this has some aspects of social justice like alcohol abuse and property vandalism.
The story of Tom Brennan is a book about a nineteen year old boy named Tom Brennan who has his
life turned upside down because of a car crash that resulted in two deaths and one paralyzed. One
example of social justice in this book is the fact that Daniel was under the influence of alcohol whilst
driving, thus causing the car crash which affected the whole town and making the town angry against
the Brennan family, my second example is the fact that there was alcohol at the rugby after party, but I
personally believe it is one hundred percent ok with alcohol at the party, it just has to be their
responsibility that they have designated drivers to get others home safely. There is also alcohol itself,
that is the main cause of the car accident itself and that too just needs a ... Show more content on

connotative metaphor on page 165 by describing toms grans house and Tom s room as the cave . I

  • 2. Reflection About God God, as we all know, can be the most loving being since he is love. All throughout the old testament we see different places where God has shown his love and compassion towards people. One example of this is when God makes Adam and Eve. God gives them dominion over the earth and everything on it. God created man in his image; in the divine image he created him; male and female he created them. 28 God blessed them, saying: Be fertile and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it. Have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and all the living things that move on the earth. 29 God also said: See, I give you every seed bearing plant all over the earth and every tree that has seed bearing fruit on it to be your food; 30 and to all the animals of the land, all the birds of the air, and all the living creatures that crawl on the ground, I give all the green plants for food. And so it happened. 31 God looked at everything he had made, and he found it very good. Evening came, and morning followed the sixth day. As you can see God is willing enough to give an entire planet to two humans who he has created. That is a lot of love and trust to give someone. God is also willing to give Adam and Eve everything to their hands. He loves them so much that he does not want them to suffer and work for everything they will need. This is one example is God s love towards people. Another example of God s love is when God allows Abraham and Sarah, who can not have children ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Edgar Allan Poe s The Purloined Letter In Edgar Allan Poe s The Purloined Letter, the reader is introduced to an unnamed narrator who also reviews the murders in, The Murders in the Rogue. He sits with his friend, C. Auguste Dupin, who solved them in that story. In The Purloined Letter, the prefect of the Paris police arrives and presents his case: a letter has been taken from the royal apartments, but the police know who has taken the letter. According to the prefect, a young woman possessed the letter, which contains sensitive information that could sabotage the image of a powerful official. The individual responsible for taking the letter is Minister D another important government official. Minister D reads the letter and writes a replica of his own. Upon leaving the royal apartment, he takes the original letter and leaves his replica behind. Duplin throughout the story argues, that the Paris police cannot follow the game that Minister D is playing when it comes to finding the location of the letter. The Paris police are only searching for the letter in places where they believe the letter would be hidden. Therefore, Minister D is wise enough to not hide it in familiar places like areas in his home. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Duplin then replaces the original letter with a fake letter, but the reason behind placing another letter is a key moment. Duplin leaves the fake letter to essentially embarrass Minster D when he finds that the letter he possesses is a fake. This twist becomes important when the reader finds that Duplin was made a fool in Vienna by Minster D and in the fake letter, Duplin writes, Un dessein si funeste, S il n est digne d Atree, est digne de Thyeste (Poe). The ending brings the story together because these are two different people, but they share the same thinking ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Risks And Challenges Of Indian Construction Industry RISKS AND CHALLENGES IN INDIAN CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY Risk in Construction needless to mention, with huge money, comes the company of big risks. In the area of Indian construction, the risks are abundant, due to the involvement of legal, political, financial and cultural complexities. As far as construction in India is concerned, there is lack of experience, but the opportunities for growth for companies willing to enter the arena are immense. The domestic construction industry is growing at a rapid pace, due to high demand for housing and increase in expenditure on infrastructure. All of the most challenging projects across country involve a variety of complex processes working simultaneously. Every critical activity is associated with a risk and can negatively affect the project objectives, such as time and schedule, cost and quality of work. The number of risks arising from a task is directly proportional to the number of people working on it. Mismanagement is one of the various sources of risk. These days, most of the big projects are sublet to sub contractors, and therefore risk assessment and mitigation has become more and more challenging. (McKinsey Company, 2009) (Sharmila Pimplikar, n.d.) As a developing country, India has not focused on risk management. Construction projects in India face various types of risks such as business risks, financial risks, technology risk, project risk and political risk. Possible government intervention increases risk, because the government is a big customer and has a history of making adverse changes to the operating ability of companies in every industry. A government regulated industry increases political risk, because government actions may not be in the best interest of citizen of that particular country. Governments are usually inefficient with spending money. Regulations are meant to protect the environmental and consumers. Improving The Performace Of Data Aggregation IMPROVING THE PERFORMACE OF DATAAGGREGATION IN WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORK Kalaivani.M1 and Rohini.R2 1Department of CSE, Vivekanandha College of Engineering for Women, kalaii7691 @gmail.com 2Department of CSE, Vivekanandha College of Engineering for Women, rohinir84 @gmail.com Abstract In this paper data aggregation using multipath routing is proposed. In existing system, under hybrid scheme, it each sensor nodes generates information by sensing its physical environment and transmit to sink by multi hop communication. In network aggregation computation intermediate forwarding nodes can substantially increase the network life time but amount of data contained in single packet and make the system vulnerability to packet loss. Instead of retransmission it takes the additional time. Multi path routing multipath multi speed routing protocol is used to improving the performance of data aggregation due to avoiding these problems. Keywords Data aggregation, Multipath routing, Greedy shortest Path, Frequent connection, Throughput. I. INTRODUCTION Wireless sensor network consist of a large number of sensor node with limited resource of energy, transmission power, network power, network bandwidth, and computation power. Each sensor node is able to perform some processing and sensing task independently. Each sensor node is able to communicate with each others to forward the sensing information. In his second experiment he did all the same things except now he put another prism upside down in front of the other prism. This caused the light to be a single circular strand of light again. In his last experiment he took the same conditions as the first experiment, but this time he isolated one color by allowing only that color through a cad with a hole in it. Then on the other side of the card there was a second prism, when the light passed through the prism it turned out to be the same color that it came in not white. Such tales provides insight into human nature, whether they involve two people or two thousand. The essence of heroism and villainy are found in deeds rather than in numbers. It is the deeds that pique our interest and lead us to wonder what prompts a man or woman to perform such acts. Adolf Hitler was a man that left you to wonder was there any good in him among all that hatred he displayed towards others. • 10. Can Utilitarianism Be Defended Against The Injustice... Can Utilitarianism be defended against the Injustice Objection? In this essay, I will argue that utilitarianism cannot be defended against the injustice objection. Utilitarians may be able to reply to the injustice objection in some cases by invoking one of two replies, the Long term consequences reply, in which utilitarians will avoid unjust actions that increase short term utility because in the long term they will not lead to the greatest good. The other reply that may help utilitarianism avoid injustice in some cases is the Secondary principles reply, where some rule based principles such as not murdering (because it generally decreases happiness) may avoid injustice. However, I will focus on the bite the bullet objection, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An example of this is in the case of R v Dudley and Stephens (1884), where Dudley, Stephens, and Brookes ate the cabin boy Parker, after they were shipwrecked for 24 days at sea. Although this act maximised utility for the most people, Parker s rights were infringed upon as he did not agree to being killed and eaten. Therefore when we add up the pain and pleasures of all those affected we may end up infringing someone s rights. The act that maximises utility may cause unhappiness and misery for the minority. There are three standard replies to the injustice objection. The first being the Long term consequences objection, where a person following utilitarianism is not obligated to commit an injustice, and that person should take into account the long term consequences of their actions. An example I would like to refer to is the harvesting organs example. Where there are five sick people in hospital and they all need organ transplants, at the same time a sixth patient is undergoing a routine checkup. A transplant surgeon finds that the only way of saving the five would be to kill the sixth person and harvest their organs. Utilitarianism would state that we should harvest the organs of person 6 without his permission to save the lives of the five other people who are dying. A utilitarian would explain that the action of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Biography Of Mary Shelley MARY SHELLEY Mary Wollestonecraft (Godwin) Shelley was born on August 30, 1797 in London, England to philosopher William Godwin and feminist Mary Wollestonecraft; both her parents were well noted writers. Mary herself grew up to be a very well known English novelist, short story writer, dramatist, essayist, biographer, and travel writer and is best known for her novel Frankenstein. Wollestonecraft passed away soon after Mary was born and therefore Mary was raised by her father who provided her with a rich and informal education and encouraged her to adhere his own political liberal theories. A voracious reader, Mary borrowed books from her father s extensive library. She enjoyed writing at a young age, and her passion was to write stories intended for a very limited audience. In 1814, Mary began a romance with one of her father s political followers, the then married Percy Bysshe Shelley. Together with Mary s stepsister Claire Clairmont, Mary and Shelley left for France and traveled through Europe. Upon their return to England, Mary was pregnant with Percy s child. • 13. Chaos Is A Modern Science That Changed The Way Scientists... Chaos is a modern science that has changed the way scientists look to the world. It studies the behaviour of nonlinear systems according to their initial state. We can see chaotic behaviour almost everywhere. As an example, rising of cigarette smoke behaviour seems smooth at the beginning then suddenly it breaks into wild swirls. A flag moves back and forth in a chaotic way, a dripping faucet goes from a steady pattern to a random one. Chaos appears in the behaviour of the weather, the behaviour of world economics, and the behaviour of fluid turbulence. Despite the environment of the system, the behaviour follows the same newly discovered laws. The realization of chaos theory has begun to change the way we think about the future [1]. The chaos term introduced in the field of dynamics while studying the behaviour of nonlinear system that is essentially depends on its initial condition. Strogatz in his book defined the term Chaos as a periodic long term behaviour in a deterministic system that exhibits sensitive dependence on initial conditions [2]. Logistic equation is an example of one dimensional attractor. In order for us to study complicated phenomena we have to understand higher order attractor functions. Henon attractor is an example of two dimensional attractor. It was introduced by a theoretical astronomer Michel Henon while he was studying stars movement in space [2]. • 15. Arguments For Gun Control Introduction Gun control has become a controversial topic in the United States. It has formed the foundation of many debates, which have resulted into general arguments that either support or refute the gun control regulations. The gun control laws were first enacted by the Congress in 1930 s. The federal and state laws stipulate the groups of people who are prohibited from owning firearms. These groups include fugitives, illegal aliens, individuals who have been pronounced to have unsound mind by a court, felons, individuals who have been restricted from serving in the army, people who are no longer US citizens, persons with restraining orders for domestic violence, and people who are addicted to substance use. The gun control laws have set 21 years as the minimum age for people to buy a gun from a federally licensed gun dealer only and 18 years as the minimum legal age for owning a gun and transfers from any unlicensed firearm dealer. The main objective of these federal laws is to prevent individuals from owning guns illegally, limit handling concealed guns outside the homestead, stipulate terms and conditions that prevent people from owning guns, and control the design of guns so as to improve public safety. Improving public safety is the most fundamental role of the gun control laws. Innocent lives being lost as a result of increased gun violence should be put to an end through gun control. The Case for Gun Control Gun control measures will decrease the diversions of guns to criminals. Possession of firearms among criminals is only possible through unlicensed gun retailers. Unlicensed gun retailers operating in the black market often sell guns to criminals illegally. It has, therefore, become easier for people of all ages to be in possession of firearms illegally. According to Webster et.al, federal regulations on gun control among retail gun sellers are very weak (Webster et.al, p 6 9). The Congress has continually weakened the existing federal regulations. Weak federal regulations on retail gun sellers are contributing to the increasing diversion of guns to criminals. Strengthening these federal regulations will go a long way in reducing the accessibility of guns by criminals. Furthermore, the right to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The resources that are gathered from rangelands are affectedeffected by the invasive plant species, all of those effects become one great issue that humans need to try and solve. Livestock is one of the major factors that are impacted by the introduction of invasive plants. All of these impacts are the part of a larger ecological impact that can kill livestock, and other plants and animals living in that area. All of these ecological issues create a big enough picture to see what is really going on when one plant invades, the invasions hurt the environment and ecosystem. • 21. Piaget Of Piaget s Sensorimotor Stage Essay Vignette I This behavior can be explained by Piaget s sensorimotor stage. Piaget discovered that from the time they are born until they reach about the age of two, children experience the world through their senses (Myers, 2010, p. 181). Infants, up until about 8 months, also are also extremely focused on the present and have not yet developed a sense of object permanence, which can lead to the out of sight, out of mind mindset (Myers, 2010, p. 181). This is evident in the situation at hand, in which a young child does not recognize a relative seen only months earlier. The child most likely had not yet developed a sense of object permanence the last time the relative visited, and was quickly forgotten. Therefore, when the relative was seen by the child after it had begun to remember that things out of sight did not cease to exist, the child must have developed stranger anxiety from not seeing the relative. A constructive solution to this situation would be for the relative to simply visit more often. This would allow the child to get familiar towards the relative, and also help to become increasingly attached to the relative (Myers, 2010, p. 190). The child would then no longer fear its well meaning relative. Not to mention, the relative would cease to worry that the young child is being spoiled. Vignette II Vignette two can be explained by Piaget s preoperational stage. This accounts for children 2 to about 6, and is characterized by using intuitive logic. (Myers, ... Named after the Latin word cuneus or wedge shaped , cuneiform was recorded on clay tablets with pointed reed sticks. Only highly educated Sumerian scribes could actually read and write cuneiform, creating social disparities between the educated rich and the laboring poor. Other early forms of writing, such as Akkadian, Babylonian, Assyrian, and Persian languages, were based on the principles of cuneiform. • 28. Comparison Of Feminism In The Arabian Nights Dasha Kofman Arabian Nights Paper 11/14/17 Abstract In my paper I will discuss how Sharazade s role as a woman allows her to act as an advocate for female empowerment, through literature and storytelling. Initially, I will focus on the feminist role of Sharazade and how she is placed within her circumstances: 1001 nights of storytelling to the King to spare her life and the masses of woman after her. I will then go on to examine how Sharazade champions the case of feminine within her tales. She does so by intertwining female characters of power and intelligence. I will then go on to examine how women are viewed within the story, from slaves to warriors. Finally, I will take both Sharazades perception of feminism and how they are viewed within the story to examine their value within the story s setting, and the greater world. Sharazade reveals the harsh truth behind how women are portrayed in literature and the intensity in which they are finalized. She is allowing us to understand that women can not be placed under an umbrella term, but rather are distinct individuals who play in the structure of society both good and bad. Although they are portrayed as such, women aren t just women but are first and foremost, people. Shahrazad: Icon of Feminism The Arabian Nights also known as One Thousand and One Nights is a tale about Shahryar whom the reader refers to as the Sasanian king. Shahrazade, the heroine of The Arabian Nights, has been noted as a women s activist figure in literature, a woman who utilizes her intelligence to spare not only her own life, but the lives of women to come. In the frame story, King Shahriyar find out that his wife is committing adultery. The king then begins to order for virgins to satisfy his sexual pleasures and kill them before they commit the same atrocities. Every night for three years, he took a virgin to his bed and then killed her in the morning. When the virgins run out, the daughter offers herself and the tales of 1001 Nights begins; These tales often criticized by many people who argue that women are not tools to satisfy a man s pleasures. • 34. The Wright Brothers And The First Flight n Dr. Amentrout s lecture he discussed the process of scientific discovery, using the Wright Brothers and their journey to the first flight . Along, with the Wright Brothers, he used four other aeronautics pioneers. Dr. Amentorut described the process in five simple steps: 1. Go with your passion 2. Be willing 3. Learn what has been done before 4. Let the ideas flow 5. Don t give up when the unexpected happens. The Wright brothers spark for aviation began in 1878, Wilbur, the oldest at eleven years old and Orville, seven, when their father gave them a toy helicopter. It sparked them to take it apart and remake it better than it was before they took it apart. Like many other successful people, but not all, the Wright brothers did not go to college. Even though Wilbur was accepted into Yale, he decided not to go because he had his teeth knocked out a few weeks prior. This was his set back, being that he really wanted to go. Despite this setback, in 1892, Wilbur started his bicycle business, manufacturing and producing bikes. He designed and hand made them himself. He went with his passion that he found at the age of eleven, creating and designing. Wilbur Wright was also willing to try something different, and go a different route. When the Wright brothers decided to aim for the first flight, flight in general, they looked back at previous work of those before them. Conclusions made from literature about the problem of mechanics and human flight states, that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Theodosius II The Roman world, having been divided in half following the death of Theodosius I would never again unite. While the Western Empire disintegrated under its own internal pressures and the barbarian menace while the Byzantine Empire to the east, stood firm during the time of crisis and prevailed, why this is the case is up to debate. Thus a close examination on how the Byzantine Empire used force and diplomacy to create stability during the reign of Theodosius II is necessary. However, to be able to understand why the Byzantine Empire was able to play the game of diplomacy so well especially during the reign of Theodosius II, a brief look into the how stability and unity was created in the Byzantine court must be taken into account. Additionally, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Through a stroke of luck the Praetorian Prefect Anthemius was able to stabilise the first few years of Theodosius II s reign. Furthermore, it was during this time that the Byzantine Empire was able to secure an almost unbroken peace between them and the Sassanid Persian Empire, though it was disturbed by a brief interlude of war due to Christian zeal inspired by Pulcheria, the Byzantine Empire was able to stabilise the eastern frontier through skilful use of diplomacy. The newly formed Vandal Kingdom presented a special challenge as it compromised the integrity of the Roman world. The situation had to be handled delicately for the Huns continued to encroach on Byzantine territory and had to be first dealt with, and although the taskforce failed to drive the Vandals out of North Africa, the Byzantine Empire was able to once again achieve peace and stability through the use of diplomacy. The Huns, in particular Attila s Empire presented a special challenge for the Byzantine Empire but through exploitation and diplomacy the Byzantine Empire outlasted Attila. Though Theodosius II never lived to see the fall of Attila s Empire, his reign did indeed provide stability through diplomacy and thus creating a platform for the Byzantine Empire to flourish well into the 14th ... • 36. Tom Brennan Social Justice Quotes The concept of social justice is based of human rights and equality, this is the way people are treated in everyday life. The text I am currently studying is The story of Tom Brennan and I am seeing how this has some aspects of social justice like alcohol abuse and property vandalism. The story of Tom Brennan is a book about a nineteen year old boy named Tom Brennan who has his life turned upside down because of a car crash that resulted in two deaths and one paralyzed. One example of social justice in this book is the fact that Daniel was under the influence of alcohol whilst driving, thus causing the car crash which affected the whole town and making the town angry against the Brennan family, my second example is the fact that there was alcohol at the rugby after party, but I personally believe it is one hundred percent ok with alcohol at the party, it just has to be their responsibility that they have designated drivers to get others home safely. There is also alcohol itself, that is the main cause of the car accident itself and that too just needs a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another example technique J.C.Burke used was symbolism in this quote I Curled myself into a little ball... let the darkness suck me deeper into its belly This is Tom s struggle of the past unexpected accident, allowing the past to suck him deeper into his restricted world. The writer also used connotative metaphor on page 165 by describing toms grans house and Tom s room as the cave . I believe that a lot of aspects of social justice confirm my views on social justice, as it was only Daniels fault for the whole thing and Daniel wasn t being responsible as he should have, unlike Tom, who decided to walk home ...
