The Impacts Of Thomas Jefferson And Alexander Hamilton
Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton both had significant impacts on the U.S. government, but
also had countless differences throughout their lives. Jefferson originated from one of the most
prominent families in Virginia with proper education at a young age, while Hamilton grew up in the
slums of St. Croix and received little formal education. As they entered the political world, they
sought plans to improve/make america great but their ideas clearly contradicted against one another.
Between the two Founding Fathers, I find Alexander Hamilton to be more trustworthy because he
constructed a stable foundation for America s economics and government that continues to be used till
this day. Thomas Jefferson was born into a notable family on April 13, 1743, in Shadwell, Virginia.
His mother, Jane Randolph Jefferson, was a member of the proud Randolph clan, a family claiming
descent from English and Scottish royalty. His father, Peter Jefferson, was a successful farmer as well
as a skilled surveyor and cartographer ( Thomas Jefferson Biography.com ) Jefferson spent majority of
his free time practicing violin, roaming the wood and studying his books on a plantation in Virginia.
At age nine, Jefferson had begun his formal studies, boarding with a minister teacher, where he
continued until age sixteen. Unlike Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton was born on January 11, 1755 (or
1757) into a poor and unprivileged family in Charlestown, Nevis. His mother was Rachel Fawcett

Valencia High School Sports Medicine Personal Statement
The most significant educational opportunity I have taken advantage of is the Valencia High School
Sports Medicine Program. This program prepares students for education and training in healthcare. I
took advantage of this program s resources in the following ways. After volunteering with my sports
medicine class at SoCal Physical Therapy, I was prompted to start a service project of my own. On
weekends in 2014 and 2015, I volunteered as the sports medicine provider for a local youth football
team. I provided first aid, preventative taping, injury evaluations, and on the field care under the
supervision of a licensed paramedic. At the time, I do not think I understood the gravity of what I was
doing. At fifteen years old, these coaches and parents entrusted their children with me ... Show more

I toured the military base, mountaineered with injured Marines, and observed evaluations and
treatments in the clinic. I encountered a facet of healthcare that is generally unknown to civilians. I
cannot adequately articulate how eye opening and rewarding this experience was. It confirmed that my
purpose in life is to positively impact the lives of others. The determination of the injured Marines and
the persistence of their healthcare teams inspired me to be someone who helps others with the same
resolve. During my junior year, connections through Sports Medicine exposed me to the hospital
environment. After volunteering for a few hospital events, I decided to apply for a permanent
volunteer position at Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital. I now work on a Med/Surg nursing unit weekly,
and I love giving back to my community in this way. The Sports Medicine Program is the educational
opportunity that enabled me to explore and expand my passion for serving others, and led me toward

Encouraging students to participate in an action that help this organization is the good thing to do.
INTRODUCTION
The World Health Organization known as (WHO), is a non profit organization dedicated in care of the
health of humankind worldwide.
This organisation is a branch of the United Nations with its mission to provide the highest level

One of the amazing accomplishments of the WHO is the The Laboratory Assessment Tool that they
made.
The Laboratory Assessment Tool offers guidance to assess laboratories and national laboratory
systems. 1. It is given to any Participant performing laboratory assessments: national health
authorities, multilateral agencies, Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs), laboratory managers. 2.
This tool will help many organizations with their researches.
This tool is translated into four languages: English, French, Spanish, Russian to help laboratorians
around the world and give aid with what they are working on. V. With all of these data between our
hand, we should understand that this organization became a necessity.
Without the international coordination in health related issues we could lose many lives. 1. All the
researches that had been made by the name of the WHO and its encouragement to an international
scientific cooperation between scientists all over the world wouldn t be excited. 2. All the statistics
and the studies that were made by the WHO that helped the doctors and scientists wouldn t be
available.

Symbolism In If This Is A Man By Primo Levi
Imagine getting captured, being taken away from everything, and not being able to do anything about
it. Imagine being forced into hard, pain intencing labour with the thought being planted in the back of
your mind, that as the days approach, so does death. In Primo Levi s novel Survival in Auschwitz
(formally titled; If This Is A Man) ,the author argues that although the prisoners in the concentration
camps suffer, it all ended up to the prisoners becoming free from the camps. The author uses imagery
in the form of the other prisoners and personal experiences to give help the reader visualize what is
happening in the novel. Symbolism in the form of his hometown and how it goes from being an awful
place to looking like heaven, the author also uses symbolism in the form dawn. Repetition is also used
in the form of the awful and uncomfortable wooden shoes the prisoners had to wear. Levi utilizes
symbolism quite effectively in to prove that suffering leads to freedom. A quote used Dawn came on
us like a betrayer, it seemed as though the new [sun] rose as an ally of our enemies to assist in our...
destruction (13) is the first hint of the author starting to suffer. Normally, dawn is a happy, carefree
event, that brings a new day and all the problems from yesterday are not an issue anymore. However,
in this case, dawn is guaranteeing death and suffering to the prisoners. The author also uses his
hometown to show the reader the transition from suffering to freedom. In the

Emma Essay
The reader s response to Emma is often a mixture of sympathy and impatience. Select two episodes
and discuss them in regards to this statement. Continually throughout Emma the reader feels a mixture
of sympathy and impatience for its main character Emma Woodhouse. The novel illustrates her vast
change in maturity, which occurs in one year. Due to Emma s personality and disposition she will
always get herself into difficult circumstances, but it is the way she reacts to the circumstances that
broadens and matures her character. The first episode takes place when she is in the throws of naivety,
and the other is when Emma has begun to mature and grow.

She even dictates the answer, and here she is becoming too involved with Harriet s affairs. Even
though Emma takes over the narration from
Jane Austen, the reader is able to see through Emma s faults and see that Robert Martin is a very
amiable man who would make a very good husband for Harriet. Emma ends up writing Harriet s
refusal and this sparks off further impatience because now Harriet, who is doting on
Emma s every word, is turning into a product of what Emma has told her rather than her true self.
Emma also refuses to heed Mr. Knightley s warnings when he states that, men of sense, whatever you
may chuse to say, do not want silly wives, obviously referring to Harriet. Emma is so wrapped up in
her created fantasy world that she fails to recognise the fact that Mr.
Elton is unlikely to lower himself to be with Harriet. Emma thinks that she is right and her self
confidence and pride prevent her from listening to an objective source. Whenever Harriet seemed
about to think or talk of Robert Martin, Emma made her think of Mr. Elton and so the infatuation
grew. Without fully realising it, Emma may have destroyed the possible relationship between Harriet
and Mr.

A Country Description Of Japan Essay
Part I Country Description Japan has a population of 126,702,133, with a growth rate of 0.19%.
Religious practices are as follows: Shintoism 79.2%, Buddhism 66.8%, Christianity 1.5%, other 7.1%
(many people practice both Shintoism and Buddhism). The climate varies from tropical in south to
cool temperate in north. The terrain is mostly rugged and mountainous. There are many dormant and
some active volcanoes and about 1,500 seismic occurrences (mostly tremors but occasional severe
earthquakes) every year, in addition to tsunamis and typhoons. After its defeat in World War II, Japan
recovered to become an economic power and an ally of the US. Japan, whose capital is Tokyo,
maintains a parliamentary constitutional monarchy While the emperor retains his throne as a symbol
of national unity, elected politicians hold actual decision making power. The Prime Minister is usually
the leader of the majority party in the House of Representatives, and the Prime Minister appoints a
cabinet. The legislative branch consists of the House of Councillors or Sangi in and the House of
Representatives or Shugi in. The supreme court has jurisdiction in constitutional issues. The chief
justice is designated by the Cabinet and appointed by the monarch, associate justices are appointed by
the Cabinet and confirmed by the monarch, and all justices are reviewed in a popular referendum at

The Great Historians Missionary That I Just Wanted For...
As I started my research I found so many great historians missionary that I just wanted to share their
missions. February 1, 1823, Betsey Stockton, a young black woman in company with 13 white
missionaries, was on board a ship rounding the southern tip of South America. The missionaries were
on their way to the Sandwich Islands (present day Hawaii). They had left New Haven, Connecticut in
November, sent out by the American Board of Commissioners of Foreign Missions, an agency at the
forefront of American Protestantism s burgeoning interest in foreign missions. Betsey Stockton was in
the second group of missionaries to go to Hawaii, the first having arrived two years before. Besides
Stockton, there were six couples and a single man, plus three Hawaiian men and a Tahitian. The trip
took five months by sea with no stopovers. Like others on board, Stockton kept a journal of the
voyage and of her first couple of months in Hawaii. She had joined the company partly as a
missionary and partly as a servant to one of the couples, Rev. and Mrs. Charles S. Stewart, who were
expecting a child. However, Betsey s contract with the American Board did make clear that she was
not to be simply a servant but was also to share in the mission s primary work. February 2, 1911,
during a morning devotional hour at Central Texas College in Waco, a teacher, Eliza George, has a
vision of black Africans passing before the judgment seat of Christ. Weeping and moaning, many of
them were saying, No

Observing Natural Selection
Observing Natural Selection With Different Colored Construction Bugs in a Flowered Meadow
Ashish Cavale Natural sources of variation include: mutations, gene flow, and genetic shuffling.
Mutations are random changes in DNA that result in beneficial, harmful, or no changes in an
organism. Gene flow can also be referred to as migration. It is the exchange of genes of individuals
from one population to another. Genetic shuffling occurs in meiosis when alleles switch to create new
combinations of genes. The steps of natural selection are overproduction, variation, competition, and
selection. Overproduction is important because it keeps the species from becoming extinct and allows
for more variation in offspring. Variation is what can either help the organism have a higher chance of
surviving or could lower the chance of surviving. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

George Washington s Victory At Trenton
With the shot heard round the world at Lexington and Concord, the American colonies were on a
collision course with one of the most powerful empires of that day. One key, pivot point of the conflict
known as the American Revolutionary War was GEN George Washington s victory at Trenton, New
Jersey on December 26, 1776. However, GEN Washington s victory might not have been possible
without the help of some timely intelligence, both for the American side, as well as intelligence
blunders by the British forces defending Trenton. By disregarding intelligence warnings, as well as
relying on only on single intelligence source, the British commander at Trenton made a fatal error,
which likely led to a British defeat, and may have contributed to the ... Show more content on

defenses in the town., He also did not send out any patrols on the morning of December 26. After the

How Does Shakespeare Present Malvolio In Twelfth Night
Shakespeare presents Malvolio (meaning ill will ) in a way that makes the characters dislike him and
feel entitled to subject him to horrific and embarrassing tricks. Perhaps it is a form of release for the
characters and audience members; Angela Carter states, Comedy is tragedy that happens to other
people. In a way this is true since it is Shakespeare s design to create comedy in Malvolio s
misfortune. This type of treatment in the real world would not be funny as it is taken too far; at first
they only make fun of him but then they start to humiliate and torture him even in context of Twelfth
Night being a comedy. The audience is aware of the tragedy that Malvolio goes through but whether
they choose to go on a moral recess or not is up to them. Some ... Show more content on

This is comical to the audience and Malvolio is not of high class and the Tudor sumptuary laws state
that only upper classes are allowed to wear them. It is hilarious because of how he references the letter
and so blatantly shows off, he completely goes against his character and Puritanism. Olivia s reaction
highlights how odd she finds it and orders, Good Maria, let this fellow be looked to. The use of the
word fellow shows that she pities him as she genuinely thinks he is ill, this is because instead of
calling him what he is, a steward, she merely references his gender to show that she is considering him
as a human. However, Shakespeare makes the situation so that Malvolio does not fully recognise that
he has been tricked and therefore what he cannot understand cannot affect him. He is not aware that
everything is just a joke played at his expense, and therefore feeling sorry for someone who is not
aware that they are meant to be pitied for seems pointless. It may provoke sympathy as the audience
no longer see him as just a Puritan nuisance but as a fellow

The Impact Of The Age Of Enlightenment
The Age of Enlightenment was an intellectual and scientific movement which is characterized by its
rational and scientific approach to religious, social, political, and economic issues. Enlightenment
ideals challenged the way people were taught to think and let them express their criticism of the
church, the monarchy or whatever system they saw as unjust. The impact of the enlightenment
movement was first seen in 18th century Europe and soon spread to different parts of the world.
People who believed in these ideals were called enlightenment thinkers. Enlightenment thinkers were
a voice for the masses who felt they were being manipulated by people holding all the power. It also
helped the masses realize that they did not need the church or monarchy, and enlightenment thinkers
were able to assemble a following to stop people of power taking advantage of those who were not
quite as powerful. Enlightenment thinkers gave an outlet to the common citizen who were seeing
injustices in their government system. Enlightenment ideals caused a domino effect. Throughout
history, we saw that the more the enlightenment ideals spread the more people stood up to their
oppressors. It first started with the Renaissance this was a time when interest in knowledge and
learning was reborn after the middle ages (Szalay). Then came The Protestant Reformation. The
Protestant Reformation was the religious, political, intellectual and cultural movement that spread
across Europe, setting in place the

Juxtaposition In A Modern Proposal
Swift when faced with a humanitarian crisis, a tyrannical English Empire, and a strong divide between
social classes, uses his pent up agitation to develop a piece of satire which both compels and shocks
those who read his work. A Modern Proposal is centered around the idea of cannibalism. In Swift s
reformation of Irish society a new division of laborers would be created labeled breeders . These
breeders would raise infants to the ripe age of one, and then sell them to the wealthy to be slaughtered,
served and possibly made into apparel. Throughout his proposal Swift uses comic juxtaposition and
grotesque elements to further convey his criticism of Ireland. By comparing the lower class breeders
and their children to animals, Swift uses comic juxtaposition to hone in on the notion that the
impoverished people in society have long been denied the humanity the wealthy pride themselves on.
No longer being seen as meaningful, important human beings, the poor are left begging for the respect
that comes with money. Pregnant woman seen as being mere vessels for produce in his imaginary
world, are compared to cows saying Men would become as fond of their wives during the time of their
pregnancy as they are now of their mares in foal, their cows in calf, their sows when they are ready to
Farrow (5). By linking together items which normally do not go together, Swift is able to divulgue
into the responsibilities and vulnerabilities associated with womanhood. Swift futher s his

Weapons of World War II Essay
Weapons of World War II Necessity is the mother of all invention , and so it was taught and learned
throughout all of World War 2. During World War 2 weaponry had to be upgraded and revised to fit
every situation. The engineers of the war had to constantly develop new and better weaponry. Much
like the engineers, the generals and officers were required to develop new ways of outsmarting their
enemy. Today most everything is computerized for battle situations, and much is known about all
other foreign defenses, but during the period of World War 2 there were many secrets, and a constant
distrust of some allies. Tanks were a huge aspect of ground fighting during the war. One of the first

The Panzer II and the General Sherman were generally equivalent, and could both take on all other
tanks. These tanks were the primary ground force for both Axis and Allied forces for about a year and
a half. At this time the U.S. produced the Great Sherman tank, and simultaneously the Axis forces
developed the Panzer III. The Great Sherman had reinforced 62mm armor. This tank also boasted a
75mm gun on a power turret. The Great Sherman was exceptionally maneuverable for its size, and
could travel 25 mph, which was very fast for a heavy tank model. Conversely the Panzer III had 2
layer 30mm armor, and was a very maneuverable medium tank with heavy firepower. The Panzer III
could easily defeat a Great Sherman in a close range battle, because of its rapid acceleration and fast
moving turret. The Panzer III was good, but soon the ally forces had to create a better tank. Nearing
the end of the war Ally forces finally fashioned a tank superior to the Panzer III. This tank boasted a
30mm turret gun, and a 75mm gun mounted on the hull; this tank was named the Grant Tank. It could
go through all other tanks like butter (Collier 90). This tank was so successful because of its extremely
thick reinforced steel plate. Though these tanks ruled the ground, the water was another story. Tanks
ruled most all the land fighting, but the seas were a different story. Ships and

Persuasive Essay On Why Do Volunteer
Nowadays with people having busy lives, of school, job, and family, it could get complex in taking
time of someones day to volunteer; however, volunteering is monumental to people and the
community. Volunteer work helps connect people, it is exceptional for the mind and body, and can
advance career opportunities.
Making new friendships and strengthening them is to connect to one another with common interests.
In addition, one of the substantial ways to meet new people around the community is to do volunteer
work. By doing this makes the community stronger and expands people social groups by exposing
them to new people with similar interests and exciting and activities. In this time and age more young
adults have a arduous time becoming outgoing; moreover, the reason is that they do not go outside to
meet new people because they are invariably stuck on their phones checking out their social media.
However, volunteering gives young adults possibility to develop their social skills because usually
people are put in a group with the same interest and age range while doing volunteer work. Since the
groups have common interest, it makes it easier for teenagers to fraternize with people in the
community.
In today s time many teenagers have to fight against anxiety, stress, and depression alone, and
volunteering helps fight through those problems. Volunteer work helps fight against anxiety, stress,
and depression by being connected with other people. Being able to socialize,

Tropes In Forrest Gump
Forrest Gump is set in Georgia in the early 1960 s, when Forrest is sitting at a bus stop, with
flashbacks recounting the time back to his birth in 1942. Because Forrest is sitting at the bus stop
telling his life story to anyone who stops to listen, very little of the film takes place in the present
tense; rather, the plot takes place in the past as Forrest recounts his life experiences. Throughout the
film, many populist tropes surface within Forrest s life, showing how Forrest lived in a time where he
was unknowingly exposed and even contributing to a populist way of life that challenged the way
average people viewed society in the United States. Forrest Gump integrates the tropes of populism
with the genres of romance, war, and adventure, sending a powerful message to viewers of how they
ought to view the world, at a time when corruption and impurity dominated society.
From the beginning of the film, it is evident that Forrest suffers from a mild form of mental illness.
This characterization is apparent throughout the movie, as Forrest is often viewed as an idiot. While
trying to get into the local public school, Forrest is initially denied admission due to his IQ being
lower than the required level for the school system. Although the principal of the school never
explicitly calls him an idiot, the implication is so strong that even Forrest himself understands the
principal thinks he is too dumb for school.
The first populist trope in the movie is the characterization

Analysis Of Farenheit 451 By Ray Bradbury
The book Farenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury is about a fireman named Montag. Montag changed his
whole life around because of books. This book is taking place in a dystopian society where nobody
reads books everyone is watching TV which is there family . Firemen burn down houses, in school
you don t really learn if you do its not valuable learning. If you do have books and the firemen find
out you will die and destroy the book. This book is about the fireman Montag who starts reading
books and sees the society he lives in is wrong. At the beginning of this book there is quote which is If
they give you rules paper write the other way by Jaun Ramon. This quote explains this whole book.
The fireman Montag really does follow the way of the quote. At the beginning Montag was just a
regular citizen in this dystopian society. He watched TV went to his job and burned houses and went
home to his wife. We can tell he was like everyone because the book opens with this It s a pleasure to
burn (Bradbury 1). He was a regular fireman who liked to burn houses like the rest of them do. One
night he was walking home from working at the firehouse and he saw someone and started to follow
this person because usually nobody is out at this time. He found this person named Clarisse she
changed Montag s whole life. She made him look at the world in a different way and made him think
about other things besides TV and burning books and she challenged his thinking. Montag before he

The Philosophical And Political Impacts Of The French...

The French revolution is one of the more influential events to have happened in the history of France

revolution which was held at the 18th century was a turning point in the French and world s history
because of its philosophical and political impact.
The French revolution started in 1789 after a meeting that was held between the estates in France.

So, they held an assembly called the tennis court assembly where they agreed that they would not

influenced by the philosophical idea of the Enlightenment. As the Enlightenment was This Person said
This intellectual movement challenged established forms of society, politics and religion by insisting
that the world should be understood using reason and logic rather than religion, tradition and
superstition. By the 1770s, Paris had become the centre of the enlightenment. The clever, witty, often
satirical and daring writings of the philosophes spread far and wide on the wave of a growing reading
public and the increased affordability of printed text. Many read these writings in the original French
as it was the language of the educated elites across Europe. Order, religious tolerance, rational

thinkers, or philosophes, of the Enlightenment. (The citation). More specific they focused

The Drug And Therapy During The U.s. Withdrawal Treatment
High dosages of benzodiazepines creates a massive clinical concern as patients can be easily
dependent. Benzodiazepines are an incredibly abused drug in the U.S. Withdrawal treatment is
recommended; however, it is sometimes unsuccessful for a large portion of patients. While ceasing the
administration the drug all at once can be incredibly difficult for the patient and often times
detrimental to the patient s health, tapering is recommended by most doctors for allowing patients to
successfully be independent from the drug and therapy during the tapering process is widely
recommended and incredibly successful.

1). So the problem is not only found in patients who take large dosages, but in patients who also abuse
the drug, combine multiple types of benzodiazepines and other drugs, and purchase them illegally in
order to be under the influence of a benzodiazepine. This is why, for the last decade, less and less
prescriptions of benzodiazepines have been dispensed in the United States. However, over the last 20
years the quantity of benzodiazepines on each prescription has increased (Brett, 2015, p. 152).
Benzodiazepines are defined by Merriam Webster as any of a group of aromatic lipophilic amines (as
diazepam and chlordiazepoxide) used especially as tranquilizers.
Benzodiazepines are anxiolytic tranquilizers used for medical conditions such as anxiety, alcohol
withdrawal, insomnia, and muscle relaxation. Generalized anxiety disorder, or GAD is one of the most
common mental illnesses benzodiazepines are responsible for combating. GAD is a disorder in which
a person experiences constant, low level anxiety (Wesely, 2014, p. 244). They act on the central

Yakugaku Zasshi in his journal article, Benzodiazepines (BZs) work by agonising gamma

Humility is something the Wart and Kay definitely differ in. This characteristic shows in Wart
throughout the book especially in the very beginning when Kay wanted to fly Cully. As T.H. White

had a right to do, not only because he was older than the Wart but also because he was Sir Ector s

because Kay seemed to regard it as making him inferior in some way (14). Kay insisted on flying

Economics Essay Telephone Masts
Using the information in the data and your own economic knowledge, evaluate the economic case for
and against governments attempting to influence how mobile phones are manufactured and used. (25)
The government should intervene in the mobile phone market to correct market failure due to the
presence of negative externalities.
Negative externalities are detrimental third party effects caused by the production and/or consumption
of a good. A public good is a good provided free of charge to the consumer, by the government. A
public good is non excludable and non rivalrous. A merit good is a good that gives positive
externalities upon production and/or consumption. A merit good is non excludable, yet rivalrous.

Therefore, the government should intervene to correct imperfect knowledge and decrease demand for
mobile phones.
Imperfect knowledge occurs when either the consumer or the producer know more than the other
about the externalities that occur due to the production or consumption of a good. A government can
use persuasion techniques to correct imperfect knowledge on the part of the consumer. Ways in which
the government can do this include educational advertising and changes to the national curriculum to
impart views the government deems will correct imperfect knowledge.
It is argued that the production of mobile phones exerts negative externalities on the Asian employees
of the mobile phone (Extract E, Line 16). An example of a negative externality on the Asian workers
is that of low wages paid by Western firms to employees in poorer, foreign countries. If the
government s policy of persuasion was successful, demand for mobile phones produced by firms that
incur low costs by paying lower wages should decrease (See Figure 2). This would decrease the
quantity consumed of low cost mobile phones, and reduce the negative externality of an inequality in
the distribution of wealth and incomes, present in the production of low cost mobile phones.
If persuasion was successful, it would also provide incentive to firms that produce mobile phones to
increase wages and lower negative externalities, as demand would be higher in the market for mobile
phones produced with

Analysis Of Hassan Nasrallah s Speech
A discourse analysis of one of Hassan Nasrallah s speeches
Introduction
Hizbullah, a main political party in Lebanon, is affecting the social world by promoting their
ideological and political position. Although all the countries surrounding Lebanon are facing conflicts
and war, we are still taking neutrality as a Lebanese government. However, Hizbullah are deeply
involved in the conflict happing in Syria, leading a huge military action outside the Lebanese borders.
Hizbullah s General Secretary Hassan Nasrallah has always been a highly appreciated leader with

Does The Percentage Of Fat Affect The Height Of Ice Cream
How Does the Percentage of Fat in Milk Affect the Height of Ice Cream?
Purpose
The purpose of this experiment was to determine how different types of milk and cream, with different
percentages of fat, affect the height of the resulting ice cream.
Background Information Fats are lipids, which are organic compounds composed of hydrogen,
carbon, and oxygen. Most fat molecules consist of three fatty acid tails and a glycerol. Fatty acid tails
are made of hydrogen and carbon, the way that they are arranged determines the type of fat. There are
two broad categories of fats saturated and unsaturated. Saturated fats contain only single bonds
between carbons, while unsaturated fats contain double or triple bonds. When saturated, they are filled

When the ingredients are mixed together, the fat particles are disturbed and broken apart. Air is
distributed into the mixture and held in place between the fat molecules to create a smooth texture (
The Science of Ice Cream , PhysicsBuzz). At first, these products are close to room temperature,
conversely, the end product is a frozen dessert. To do this, the mixture must be cooled past its freezing
point. The ice is what ultimately freezes the cream. However, since the mixture is not just pure water,
which freezes at 0° Celsius, the freezing point must be cooler. Freezing point depression is a
colligative property where more solute is added to the solvent. In this case, salt is the solute and the
ice/water is the solvent. If the concentration of the solution is increased, consequently, the freezing
point will decrease to be lower than that of the usual. The new change will then allow the ice to absorb
the heat and melt, while transferring the coldness to the ice cream. When the ice constantly comes in
contact with the salt crystals, by stirring, churning, or other methods, it becomes cooler because of the
interaction between them. By lowering the temperature of the ice and salt mixture, the ice cream is
able to harden and take shape because it still freezes at 0° Celsius and it is being cooled down to reach

Essay about Exposing the Hoax of www.DHMO.org
Information literacy is an important skill, and unfortunately one that many people lack. Recently, I

Women as Instigators of Tragedy in the Works of William...
Women as Instigators of Tragedy in the Works of Shakespeare
It is the very error of the moon;
She comes more nearer earth than she was wont,
And makes men mad. (Othello 5.2.112 14)
The moon is often seen in literature as an allegory for love, virtue, and chastity. In Shakespeare s
comedies, especially, the moon is personified as Diana, the Roman goddess of chastity. In these
comedies, the foolish antics of lovers (literally, lunatics ) usually occur under the auspices of the
chaste goddess, the lovers behaving like hounds about her feet that snap at each other in competition
for her bounty. The moon as allegory for the lunacy of romance helps us understand Shakespeare s
view of romance. In the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The finest example can be found in Othello. Iago convinces Othello that Othello is being cuckolded by
his wife, after which Othello questions him, referring to his wife as the moon:
Why, why is this?
Think st thou I ld make a lie of jealousy,
To follow still the changes of the moon
With fresh suspicions? No; to be once in doubt
Is once to be resolved . . . (3.3.190)
The moon/Desdemona is seen as at once chaste and inclined to change. Later, Othello accuses
Desdemona of infidelity despite her protesting innocence. Again, he compares her infidelity with the
moon: What committed!/ Heaven stops the nose at it and the moon winks . . . (4.2.74). The moon,
once chaste, is now flirting. Similarly, Othello believes that Desdemona, once chaste, is cuckolding
him. These two examples show the multiple allegories of the moon that, similarly, exist in women.
The moon also symbolizes the changeability of Fortune. What does the Fortune have to do with the
moon? Shakespeare considered both of them to be much the same. Both have a cyclical nature (hence
the term, Wheel of Fortune ): the moon waxes and wanes just like Fortune waxes and wanes. John
Hankins noted that the traditional Latin scholarship that Shakespeare may have studied (such as
Macrobius who studied the relationship of the celestial bodies to mortals on earth) would have lead to

Death Is Not Master By Thomas Miller
Let them die They want eternity In May Miller s Poem Death is not Master the persona explains that
death is not the master that will increase the desperation but it is a way to become eternally calm.
Many poems on the topic of death explain how it is as powerful of a thing that fears the existence of
human beings, but Miller s persona death is a way to achieve eternal serenity. She explains death as
something that can end all the worldly tears, desires and tension and transform the human memory
into a sculpture which is unaware of tensions. Miller s persona believes that blocking death will be
unfair as it will be a barrier to the everlasting happiness and calmness that lies inside the grave. Miller
s persona is an elaboration of Christian beliefs that death ends all worldly problems as an eternal life
starts after the death. The eternal life of a human or corpse after death is same as that of sculpture
which shines at night and remain in one place free of all tensions and problems. As the life after death
is full of calmness and happiness, so it must not be blocked and everyone must welcome it to gain the
everlasting lasting life. Thus, in Miller s perspective death is not the master; instead, it is the slave of
eternal life of serenity and calmness that lies ahead. So, no one should try to become a barrier by
blocking the death. Repetition of you six times and I three times creates the relationship between I and

Coca Cola wanted to continue its international expansion because it believed that the U.S. market
would eventually reach maturity, and that growth prospects were better overseas. For much of its
initial expansion, Coca Cola followed a localization strategy, allowing each country unit to manage its
own operations. QUESTION 2: Why did Coca Cola change its initial strategy? What strategy did
Coca Cola start to pursue in 2000? What were the benefits of this strategy to Coca Cola? What were
the drawbacks? ANSWER 2: In the 1980s, Coca Cola changed its strategy from a localization
approach where individual country units essentially ran their own operations, to a more centralized
approach where key management and marketing activities took place at the company headquarters in
Atlanta. The company extended this strategy to include foreign bottlers. By taking equity stakes in the
bottlers, Coca Cola was able to exert greater control over them. Coca Cola made the shift to the global

economies of scale. However, by 2000, the company was ready to change its strategy once again.
Coca Cola was losing market share to companies that used a more localized strategy, and under the

The Four Coercive acts were passed in 1774 by the British Parliament, as a direct response to the

This activity is a combination of good quality content like information, personal views, opinions,
comments, as well as poor quality content like rumours, spam, and other malicious content. Although,
the good quality content makes online social media a rich source of information, consumption of poor
quality content can degrade user experience, and have inappropriate impact in the real world. In
addition, the enormous popularity, promptness, and reach of online social media services across the

guitar is popular for beginning music artists. In this ad the company Gibson is using pathos, ethos, and
logos to get the audience s attention. The Gibson guitar ad explicitly sells guitars, but it implicitly sells
sex and suicide.
Gibson guitars are directing this ad to older teenage and young male adults. The audience is young
enough that they are still debating on what career path that they want to go down. To some of this
audience, this ad would grab their attention by thinking this guitar should get them laid. This aspect
would be directed mainly towards young males. Also, some guitars give the sexy and spontaneous
impression, which in a young male s eyes, is a perfect career. The ad is also saying that if a person
doesn t get laid because of a guitar, they should just kill themselves. By analyzing the statement and
ad picture, music involves sex and

  • 2. The Impacts Of Thomas Jefferson And Alexander Hamilton Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton both had significant impacts on the U.S. government, but also had countless differences throughout their lives. Jefferson originated from one of the most prominent families in Virginia with proper education at a young age, while Hamilton grew up in the slums of St. Croix and received little formal education. As they entered the political world, they sought plans to improve/make america great but their ideas clearly contradicted against one another. Between the two Founding Fathers, I find Alexander Hamilton to be more trustworthy because he constructed a stable foundation for America s economics and government that continues to be used till this day. Thomas Jefferson was born into a notable family on April 13, 1743, in Shadwell, Virginia. His mother, Jane Randolph Jefferson, was a member of the proud Randolph clan, a family claiming descent from English and Scottish royalty. His father, Peter Jefferson, was a successful farmer as well as a skilled surveyor and cartographer ( Thomas Jefferson Biography.com ) Jefferson spent majority of his free time practicing violin, roaming the wood and studying his books on a plantation in Virginia. At age nine, Jefferson had begun his formal studies, boarding with a minister teacher, where he continued until age sixteen. Unlike Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton was born on January 11, 1755 (or 1757) into a poor and unprivileged family in Charlestown, Nevis. His mother was Rachel Fawcett Lavien ... • 3. Valencia High School Sports Medicine Personal Statement The most significant educational opportunity I have taken advantage of is the Valencia High School Sports Medicine Program. This program prepares students for education and training in healthcare. I took advantage of this program s resources in the following ways. After volunteering with my sports medicine class at SoCal Physical Therapy, I was prompted to start a service project of my own. On weekends in 2014 and 2015, I volunteered as the sports medicine provider for a local youth football team. I provided first aid, preventative taping, injury evaluations, and on the field care under the supervision of a licensed paramedic. At the time, I do not think I understood the gravity of what I was doing. At fifteen years old, these coaches and parents entrusted their children with me ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I toured the military base, mountaineered with injured Marines, and observed evaluations and treatments in the clinic. I encountered a facet of healthcare that is generally unknown to civilians. I cannot adequately articulate how eye opening and rewarding this experience was. It confirmed that my purpose in life is to positively impact the lives of others. The determination of the injured Marines and the persistence of their healthcare teams inspired me to be someone who helps others with the same resolve. During my junior year, connections through Sports Medicine exposed me to the hospital environment. After volunteering for a few hospital events, I decided to apply for a permanent volunteer position at Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital. I now work on a Med/Surg nursing unit weekly, and I love giving back to my community in this way. The Sports Medicine Program is the educational opportunity that enabled me to explore and expand my passion for serving others, and led me toward pursuing a career in ... Imagine being forced into hard, pain intencing labour with the thought being planted in the back of your mind, that as the days approach, so does death. In Primo Levi s novel Survival in Auschwitz (formally titled; If This Is A Man) ,the author argues that although the prisoners in the concentration camps suffer, it all ended up to the prisoners becoming free from the camps. The author uses imagery in the form of the other prisoners and personal experiences to give help the reader visualize what is happening in the novel. Symbolism in the form of his hometown and how it goes from being an awful place to looking like heaven, the author also uses symbolism in the form dawn. Repetition is also used in the form of the awful and uncomfortable wooden shoes the prisoners had to wear. Levi utilizes symbolism quite effectively in to prove that suffering leads to freedom. A quote used Dawn came on us like a betrayer, it seemed as though the new [sun] rose as an ally of our enemies to assist in our... destruction (13) is the first hint of the author starting to suffer. Normally, dawn is a happy, carefree event, that brings a new day and all the problems from yesterday are not an issue anymore. However, in this case, dawn is guaranteeing death and suffering to the prisoners. The author also uses his hometown to show the reader the transition from suffering to freedom. In the ... February 1, 1823, Betsey Stockton, a young black woman in company with 13 white missionaries, was on board a ship rounding the southern tip of South America. The missionaries were on their way to the Sandwich Islands (present day Hawaii). They had left New Haven, Connecticut in November, sent out by the American Board of Commissioners of Foreign Missions, an agency at the forefront of American Protestantism s burgeoning interest in foreign missions. Betsey Stockton was in the second group of missionaries to go to Hawaii, the first having arrived two years before. Besides Stockton, there were six couples and a single man, plus three Hawaiian men and a Tahitian. The trip took five months by sea with no stopovers. Like others on board, Stockton kept a journal of the voyage and of her first couple of months in Hawaii. She had joined the company partly as a missionary and partly as a servant to one of the couples, Rev. and Mrs. Charles S. Stewart, who were expecting a child. However, Betsey s contract with the American Board did make clear that she was not to be simply a servant but was also to share in the mission s primary work. Observing Natural Selection Observing Natural Selection With Different Colored Construction Bugs in a Flowered Meadow Ashish Cavale Natural sources of variation include: mutations, gene flow, and genetic shuffling. Mutations are random changes in DNA that result in beneficial, harmful, or no changes in an organism. Gene flow can also be referred to as migration. It is the exchange of genes of individuals from one population to another. Genetic shuffling occurs in meiosis when alleles switch to create new combinations of genes. The steps of natural selection are overproduction, variation, competition, and selection. Overproduction is important because it keeps the species from becoming extinct and allows for more variation in offspring. How Does Shakespeare Present Malvolio In Twelfth Night Shakespeare presents Malvolio (meaning ill will ) in a way that makes the characters dislike him and feel entitled to subject him to horrific and embarrassing tricks. Perhaps it is a form of release for the characters and audience members; Angela Carter states, Comedy is tragedy that happens to other people. In a way this is true since it is Shakespeare s design to create comedy in Malvolio s misfortune. This type of treatment in the real world would not be funny as it is taken too far; at first they only make fun of him but then they start to humiliate and torture him even in context of Twelfth Night being a comedy. Olivia s reaction highlights how odd she finds it and orders, Good Maria, let this fellow be looked to. The use of the word fellow shows that she pities him as she genuinely thinks he is ill, this is because instead of calling him what he is, a steward, she merely references his gender to show that she is considering him as a human. However, Shakespeare makes the situation so that Malvolio does not fully recognise that he has been tricked and therefore what he cannot understand cannot affect him. Enlightenment ideals challenged the way people were taught to think and let them express their criticism of the church, the monarchy or whatever system they saw as unjust. The impact of the enlightenment movement was first seen in 18th century Europe and soon spread to different parts of the world. People who believed in these ideals were called enlightenment thinkers. Enlightenment thinkers were a voice for the masses who felt they were being manipulated by people holding all the power. It also helped the masses realize that they did not need the church or monarchy, and enlightenment thinkers were able to assemble a following to stop people of power taking advantage of those who were not quite as powerful. Enlightenment thinkers gave an outlet to the common citizen who were seeing injustices in their government system. Enlightenment ideals caused a domino effect. Because Forrest is sitting at the bus stop telling his life story to anyone who stops to listen, very little of the film takes place in the present tense; rather, the plot takes place in the past as Forrest recounts his life experiences. Throughout the film, many populist tropes surface within Forrest s life, showing how Forrest lived in a time where he was unknowingly exposed and even contributing to a populist way of life that challenged the way average people viewed society in the United States. Forrest Gump integrates the tropes of populism with the genres of romance, war, and adventure, sending a powerful message to viewers of how they ought to view the world, at a time when corruption and impurity dominated society. From the beginning of the film, it is evident that Forrest suffers from a mild form of mental illness. This characterization is apparent throughout the movie, as Forrest is often viewed as an idiot. While trying to get into the local public school, Forrest is initially denied admission due to his IQ being lower than the required level for the school system. Ways in which the government can do this include educational advertising and changes to the national curriculum to impart views the government deems will correct imperfect knowledge. It is argued that the production of mobile phones exerts negative externalities on the Asian employees of the mobile phone (Extract E, Line 16). An example of a negative externality on the Asian workers is that of low wages paid by Western firms to employees in poorer, foreign countries. If the government s policy of persuasion was successful, demand for mobile phones produced by firms that incur low costs by paying lower wages should decrease (See Figure 2). This would decrease the quantity consumed of low cost mobile phones, and reduce the negative externality of an inequality in the distribution of wealth and incomes, present in the production of low cost mobile phones. When the ingredients are mixed together, the fat particles are disturbed and broken apart. Air is distributed into the mixture and held in place between the fat molecules to create a smooth texture ( The Science of Ice Cream , PhysicsBuzz). At first, these products are close to room temperature, conversely, the end product is a frozen dessert. To do this, the mixture must be cooled past its freezing point. The ice is what ultimately freezes the cream. However, since the mixture is not just pure water, which freezes at 0° Celsius, the freezing point must be cooler. Freezing point depression is a colligative property where more solute is added to the solvent. In this case, salt is the solute and the ice/water is the solvent. If the concentration of the solution is increased, consequently, the freezing point will decrease to be lower than that of the usual. The new change will then allow the ice to absorb the heat and melt, while transferring the coldness to the ice cream. When the ice constantly comes in contact with the salt crystals, by stirring, churning, or other methods, it becomes cooler because of the interaction between them. By lowering the temperature of the ice and salt mixture, the ice cream is able to harden and take shape because it still freezes at 0° Celsius and it is being cooled down to reach that ... There are no footnotes contained on any of the webpages, nor are there links to reliable sources of information. This, to me, is a good indicator that there are no other sources to justify that the information contained are from a quality source. One link on the site s main page that I found particularly deceptive was the US Environmental Assessment Center logo. A google.com search of the name resulted in a top hit for the US Environmental Protection Agency s US Environmental Assessment Center. Women as Instigators of Tragedy in the Works of Shakespeare It is the very error of the moon; She comes more nearer earth than she was wont, And makes men mad. (Othello 5.2.112 14) The moon is often seen in literature as an allegory for love, virtue, and chastity. In Shakespeare s comedies, especially, the moon is personified as Diana, the Roman goddess of chastity. In these comedies, the foolish antics of lovers (literally, lunatics ) usually occur under the auspices of the chaste goddess, the lovers behaving like hounds about her feet that snap at each other in competition for her bounty. Think st thou I ld make a lie of jealousy, To follow still the changes of the moon With fresh suspicions? No; to be once in doubt Is once to be resolved . . . (3.3.190) The moon/Desdemona is seen as at once chaste and inclined to change. Later, Othello accuses Desdemona of infidelity despite her protesting innocence. Again, he compares her infidelity with the moon: What committed!/ Heaven stops the nose at it and the moon winks . . . (4.2.74). The moon, once chaste, is now flirting. Similarly, Othello believes that Desdemona, once chaste, is cuckolding him. These two examples show the multiple allegories of the moon that, similarly, exist in women. The moon also symbolizes the changeability of Fortune. What does the Fortune have to do with the moon? Shakespeare considered both of them to be much the same. Both have a cyclical nature (hence the term, Wheel of Fortune ): the moon waxes and wanes just like Fortune waxes and wanes. John Hankins noted that the traditional Latin scholarship that Shakespeare may have studied (such as Macrobius who studied the relationship of the celestial bodies to mortals on earth) would have lead to his understanding

  • 31. Death Is Not Master By Thomas Miller Let them die They want eternity In May Miller s Poem Death is not Master the persona explains that death is not the master that will increase the desperation but it is a way to become eternally calm. Many poems on the topic of death explain how it is as powerful of a thing that fears the existence of human beings, but Miller s persona death is a way to achieve eternal serenity. She explains death as something that can end all the worldly tears, desires and tension and transform the human memory into a sculpture which is unaware of tensions. Miller s persona believes that blocking death will be unfair as it will be a barrier to the everlasting happiness and calmness that lies inside the grave. Miller s persona is an elaboration of Christian beliefs that death ends all worldly problems as an eternal life starts after the death. The eternal life of a human or corpse after death is same as that of sculpture which shines at night and remain in one place free of all tensions and problems. As the life after death is full of calmness and happiness, so it must not be blocked and everyone must welcome it to gain the everlasting lasting life. Thus, in Miller s perspective death is not the master; instead, it is the slave of eternal life of serenity and calmness that lies ahead. So, no one should try to become a barrier by blocking the death. Repetition of you six times and I three times creates the relationship between I and You who love each other a lot and never want ... What strategy did Coca Cola start to pursue in 2000? What were the benefits of this strategy to Coca Cola? What were the drawbacks? ANSWER 2: In the 1980s, Coca Cola changed its strategy from a localization approach where individual country units essentially ran their own operations, to a more centralized approach where key management and marketing activities took place at the company headquarters in Atlanta. The company extended this strategy to include foreign bottlers. By taking equity stakes in the bottlers, Coca Cola was able to exert greater control over them. Coca Cola made the shift to the global standardization strategy because it believed that by doing so, the company could gain significant economies of scale. However, by 2000, the company was ready to change its strategy once again.
