Personality Disorders Essay
Psychologists have identified ten different types of personality disorders and categorized into three
different clusters. In the beginning, the diagnostic testing for schizotypal was not very reliable,
because the symptoms ranged from mild to severe, and would vary to the severity of the symptoms.
Due to research, psychologists have discovered the various causes that trigger this disorder. With
the new age, there has been some new advancement made toward helping and treating patients with
schizotypal. It does not affect just the patient but takes a big toll on society.
According to the DSM IV (2000), schizotypal personality disorder occurs more often in males than
in females and over three percent of the general population. The disorder ... Show more content on

Schizotypal falls in the Cluster A category that is considered paranoid personality disorders.
According to Bjornlund (2011), ten to twenty years ago mental health professional started treating
patients for personality disorders, since it is harder to diagnose and treat. Each disorder had to be
approached differently according to a precise diagnosis. Health professionals used questionnaires
and interviews to diagnosis patients; however, often the results were incorrectly diagnosis. Some
patients do not get early treatment until the symptoms interfere with daily life or a relative
encourages them to. Some may seek treatment after court order, suicide attempt, anxiety,
depression, or substance abuse. Sometimes a precise diagnosis happens after being
institutionalized or hospitalize for a long period of time. Around the mid 1970 s, DSM emphasized
an increasing reliability in diagnosis of schizotypal.
There are several different symptoms and characteristics that are present with schizotypal
personality disorder. According Bjounlund (2011), the symptoms may be mild in one specific area
of the patient s life or extremely severe that the patience cannot function in any part of life.
Symptoms can range from peculiar dress to perceptual alterations. The symptoms affect not just the
patience but also family and friends attributed to stress. Some patients diagnosed with schizotypal
exhibit anxious behavior. The anxious behavior includes obsessions and

and gain access to the financial payroll system, human resources and even email system. This
employee used several methods in order to gain access into the system: IP spoofing, Data

able to tamper with payroll system. An auditor discovered the discrepancies and tried to make upper

What Is America A New Identity
America, a New Identity America is not becoming a universal nation. However, it is in the process
of redefining the identity of what an American is. The fault for this is widespread growth of certain
ethnic groups caused by immigration, paired with technology that allows for unprecedented
connectivity. Consequently, this allows minority groups to rapidly spread their cultureand ideas
throughout the country and influence the majorities like never before. Nowhere is this more
apparent than in pop culture; where Bollywood, Korean dramas, and Japanese animation have had a
significant impact on the tastes of America as a whole.
The racial identity of America is shifting to represent a more mixed standard of our national color.

Rank Group Defies Brexit With Impressive Profit Increase
Rank Group defies Brexit with impressive profit increase While Brexit has rocked a number of
major online gambling industry names, it seems that Rank Group has managed to remain strong.
In fact, it can even be argued that Rank Group has gone beyond what it was expected financially
speaking, as it posted a profit increase of 15% during the financial year. Coming about through a
fresh digital focused strategy, it appears that Rank Group is defying doubters across the board. The
report, which details final results for the year to 30th June, shows that their profit before taxation
was a very healthy ВЈ85.5 million, which is a notable increase on the ВЈ74.5 million posted the
year prior. Revenue for Rank Group also increased by 2% to ВЈ753 million. The figures show that,
generally speaking, Rank Group had a great year, but there was a negative to note amidst the
report, as there was 2% dip in the group s operating profits, as it came in at ВЈ82.4 million before
exceptional items . Considering the positivity surrounding Rank Group, Henry Birch (Rank
Group Chief Executive) has been quick to comment on the report, he said I am pleased to report
a solid set of results with group revenue up 2%, again recording like for like growth across all

Miles Davis Kind Of Blue Essay
Miles Davis Kind of Blue is the single biggest selling jazz album ever made, selling over 5
million copies, and was my favorite to learn about. It is known to be one of albums that convert
people to liking jazz styled music, even though it was created over fifty years ago. The most
significant part of the album to me was that it made such an impact on the jazzcommunity and it
was only made in seven hours and all but only one of the tracks were first takes. What has stuck
with me in the documentary was the saying, The first thought is the best thought. I really
appreciated this because the artist stuck with their initial first gut feeling. The music was really
innovative and most specifically, the opening of So What , was completely improvised and then
the riff takes off, allowing to be one of the most iconic songs in jazz (in my opinion). The magic of
music was truly created in this album creation and led a different direction of jazz creation.

Rose For Emily Sympathy
William Faulkner s short story, A Rose for Emily, is depicted through the several encounters and
accounts of a group of townspeople during the period of her life. Although it is not specifically
stated, it can be inferred that the narrators are not of one particular gender or age category, but
are a large combination of diverse bystanders compiled to recount the notorious events of the life
of Emily Grierson. Additionally, it is implied that the narrators are Caucasian men and women
during a time in which white superiority prevailed, for it is made evident in the story by the
presence of offensive racial, derogatory terms such as negro and nigger, and by the fact that Emily
had hired black domestic maintenance for her home. In the era... Show more content on

On the contrary, the rose symbolizes the pity and sympathy in which the author feels for the
protagonist as the story progresses and reveals the tragic incidents that have permeated her life
with solemn misery. In the era in which this work was originally created, it was common to
offer a rose to one who has endured great suffering to display their emotions of sorrow and
condolence. Therefore, the title itself unveils that Emily might partake on a journey of
heartbreak and bitterness and would be the epitome of a valid recipient of rose in that period. A
logical reason as to why the title is not A Rose for Miss Emily is that it might reveal more of the
story than Faulkner had originally intended. When addressing the protagonist as Miss, the reader
immediately knows that she is a maiden, without a husband and maybe without a true love.
However, when Emily is simply referred to by her first name, the audience is given broader
horizon and a greater amount of space to imagine how the details of the story will unfold. Thus,
one does not know whether she is single, married, divorced, widowed, a mother, a grandmother, and

British Petroleum s External And Internal Environments
British Petroleum s External and Internal Environments
History
British Petroleum, BP, began as the Anglo Persian Oil Company in the beginning of the 1900 s.
The founder, William D Arcy, risked his entire fortune at the hopes that oil would be discovered
in Persia. He was success on May 28, 1908. The business struggled in the early years, but
ultimately found success. BP has become a global leader in the energy business. Beginning in
2000 and in the years to follow BP has focused not only on oil, but also on oil alternatives such as;
solar, wind, natural gas, and biofuels (British Petroleum, 2015).
BP is best known as a global leader providing oil and gas to customers. They also produce lubricants

BP is focused on socially responsible investors. Shareholders and analyst are engaged through an
annual meeting as well as webcast and one to one meetings. Carl Sandlin was appointed in 2012
to oversee and report the company s progress in implementing the Bly report recommendations.
The Bly report consists of 26 recommendations resulting from the Gulf of Mexico spill. In order
for BP to be relisted, they must closely monitor not only how they operate but with whom they
operate (BP, 2014).
The oil and gas industry are affected by political and legal regulations. In 2009, companies in this
industry spent at least $154 million on lobbying. The investment in lobbyist is critical to the
operation of businesses in this industry. The lobbyist works closely with law makers to help
influence their decisions, hoping to allow laws to pass or not pass depending on the needs of the
industry. They effectively stalled climate legislation in 2009 that would have driven energy cost
higher and forced the oil companies to terminate employees (Mulkeron, 2010).

Copyright Infringement Of The Happy Birthday Song, Along...
Copyright is set out to protect the original artists creative work from imitations for a limited time,
until it enters the Public Domain. Creators may view this as a much needed law to prevent
infringement, which grants the lawful artist the rights to their respective work. However,
continuing this practice is redundant as copyrightdoes not accomplish what it has been set out to
do. The Blurred Lines Case is used to convey how the Lay Listener Test fails to determine
copyright infringement. Adele s plagiarism allegation is reviewed to show the copies of other work,
suggesting that copyright cannot determine who holds original authorship. The invalid copyright of

This showed that jurors were unable to determine if songs were guilty of copyright infringement;
since a large majority of Jurors (84.8%) wrongfully stated that the original and the copied song were
different in composition.
Elements of a Civil Copyright Infringement Claim consists of proving Ownership of a Valid
Copyright, Actual Copying, and Misappropriation. Actual Copying is proven through direct or
indirect evidence that shows a striking similarity between the two works. In the Blurred Lines
Case, indirect evidence was used in proving music recording s two copyright protections were
infringement upon: (1) a copyright in the underlying composition and (2) a copyright in the sound
recording. This is problematic as Blurred Lines did not infringe on the Actual Copying claim;
jurors confused the underlying composition and sound recording for style, when style is not
protectable copyright for music recordings. Copyright fails to determine composition and sound
recordings in a Lay Listener Test, and give Thicke and William s exclusive rights to their respective
creations, illustrating how copyright is unreliable.
Copyright law encourages the creation of original creative work. Yet, creation requires influence. It
is not realistic to say that a song can be completely original, containing innovating composition and
sound recording. Artists gain influence from other artists, who have adopted the style of the

Guerrillas in Arkansas During the American Civil War, there were such things called guerrillas.

exactly how the Confederate independent companies got there name. Where and when did
guerrilla warfare begin? Who did it involve? Who were these so called guerrillas and what was

Arkansas s terrain of mountains and deep rivers favored guerrilla actions in the north, and
swamps in the south. The most costly economic factors and the most annoying of all guerrilla
strategies were the suffering of river traffic and confiscation of its cargo. Guerrillas would hold
the boats, take the cargo, and serve as commissaries to the interior. Last, what were the Federal
soldiers and Unionist going to do to stop guerrilla warfare? Because up until the end of the war
the United States government were basically supplying the Confederates and fighting them at the
same time. In 1863, the Federals had released their counter guerrilla campaign. A campaign that
would have several regiments of good troops be raised in Arkansas for a short time to put down
guerrillas. The counter guerrilla acts were successful by reducing the power of Confederate
guerrillas. An extensive variety of strategies were played by Federal forces to defeat irregulars in
Arkansas. Arkansas Unionist forces were used as anti guerrilla troops. Forces which used gunboats
to control the waterways throughout rivers, and the head marshal s military system that spied on
alleged guerrillas and imprison those caught. By reinforcing that system, the Federal army
developed an effective force themselves and defended Confederate raiders strategic targets.

The first dimension would consist of the company s products; ice cream, frozen yogurt or
merchandise. The marketing department has to know which products are selling, if Ben Jerry s
didn t know that their T shirts are selling out as soon as they hit the stores, then they wouldn t be
able to take advantage of the opportunity to sell the shirts. The second dimensionwould consist of

The Tinning children fell victims to their Munchausen mother, Marybeth. Back in 1972, Jennifer,
Mr. and Mrs. Tinning s eight year old daughter had passed away from acute meningitis. As a very
detached and cold husband already, Mr. Tinning showed no support or sympathy towards his
grieving wife after their daughter s passing. It did however bring a wave of sympathy from family
and friends. Just shy of 3 weeks following Jennifer s death, Marybeth had to rush her two year old
son to the hospital where he was pronounced dead due to a viral infection accompanied by a

Informative Essay On Donald Trump

Power The day of November 8th 2016 would be a day that changed the United States forever.
This was the day that Donald Trump, a professional and very much so emotional tweeter, was

also a reality TV star. A mogul is a very influential and powerful person in a business or industry.
A reality tv star is a person who has gained social recognition through their appearance on

decisions as the president of the United States. He is the reason that there are more hateful people

Sickle Cell Anemia Disease
What is Sickle Cell Anemia Disease?
Sickle Cell Anemia Disease is an inherited disease that turns healthy red blood cells (donut

responsible for transporting oxygen in the blood) (Naoum). This disease gets its name from the
shape of red blood cells under low oxygen condensation which becomes sickle shaped. These
sickle shaped cells get stuck in small blood vessels which causes people with this disease to have
oxygen blockage (fudge foundation). People inherit this disease from their parents, if both parents

Effects of Texting on Society Essay
Technological improvements make long distance communication easier than ever before. An

obvious. After all, who would fall in love with something as horrible as a tumor? But for Safiya
Sinclair, this is the opening line, the defining line, of this poem and in her poem, How to Excise a
Tumor, Safiya Sinclair uses the speakers tumor as a symbol for an unwanted child. Through the
poetical devices such as metaphors and imagery, Sinclair weaves a tale of a tumor and its human.
How to Excise a Tumor is a relatively short poem of 27 lines. It details what advice the speaker
has to those who, presumably, have discovered they have a tumor. She, the speaker, gives
suggestions and warnings like don t fall in love with [the tumor] and it will always want more
that you can give. This is good advice to those with literal tumors as well as those whose tumors
are a bit more metaphorical, as is the speaker s tumor. Her tumor is an undesired child, possibly
the product of sexual assault. The speaker says the tumor will move to leech at your nipples, and
other parts of you will grow hot to show how the reader s initial uncaring provisions will turn
into warmth and affection for the child. As the reader s affection grows and the child make[s] a
home in the damp chasms of your heart, the speaker believes you ll begin to see the good in
everything, but despite how wonderful that situation might sound, the speaker lets the readers
know otherwise. She again warns the reader that the tumor will [make] such a mes of your dreams
and to not give in to accidental pleasure. All of the speaker s warnings show that she regrets giving
into her tumor and not doing more to get rid of it which creates a theme of unhappiness.
That theme is further supported by the metaphors scattered throughout How to Excise a Tumor.
One such metaphor is the blind aphid. An aphid is a small bug that feeds destructively on plants
and a blind aphid would be particularly undiscerning. Without sight, the aphid chew[s] straight
through the core. In other words, the aphid or the tumor continues eating and taking until it has
destroyed the

Questions On The Decision Of An Option Contract Essay
Problem page 184 Parts 1 and 2 1.Chapter 2 explained that a promise made by an offeror that
effectively limits the offeror s power to revoke the offer is referred to as an option contract.
When A offered to sell B Greenacre and set a fixed time period of five days for the offeree to
accept the option the contract was sealed. Therefore A would be wrong to deny having a
contract with B. 2.Restatement 43 gives the specific ways that A could have been right in
stating that there was no contract with B. One of the obvious ways would have been if B did
not accept the option within the designated time period. Another reason that comes to mind is if
an offeror diverts from the original offer. Had the information given to B from the recorder had
been reliable then s A stated the option would have no longer been an agreement between the two
but in this case it was erroneous and unreliable. Notes pg. 225 Question 1 Parts 1, 2, 3, and 4

Why Software Testing With Real Users
Week6 Hand in Assignment
There are a number of reasons why software testing with real users views are important, even if the
software is still being developed. One of the main reasons is that testing can bring value to the end
product. Software testing demonstrates that defects are detected in the application that was
developed. The process validates and verifies the software in order to ensure that the product meets
the highest business and technical requirements that directed its design and development in the first
place. The stakeholders involved in development or purchasing of software spend tremendous
amount of resources in doing so and tend to want the software testing efforts to succeed and ensure
that a quality product be produced. Hence, it is important for them to test the software in order to
validate their implementations.
The prototyping phase involves making critical decisions regarding the functionality, effectiveness,
and appropriateness of the new system to be developed [Ambler, 2002]. It is part of the rudimentary
phase of software development cycle, there can be significant cost of iteration if there are any major
changes that are made to the system functionality after the design gets converted into code
implementations or in a working model. In the development cycle, there are many instances during
the process of software development when the stakeholders/clients change their requirements mid
way or the development team may have misinterpreted

Professor Catherine Rice
Mr. Browns Dilemma
Good Morning Mr. Brown, my name is Mona and I am a physician s assistant. Thank you for
coming in to meet with me today. Today I ll be going over your recent lab work along with the
results. The last time you were in to see the doctor he ordered testing for you that is known as a
lipid panel or a cholesterol panel. A lipid panel is done to measure four main things which are your
cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, and LDL
I will now tell you a little about your results and explain what your results mean for your health.
You may feel free to ask any questions to gain clarification of anything that you may not
understand. First I will discuss your Triglyceride level results, I want to explain to you exactly
what triglycerides are before giving you your personal result. Triglycerides are a type of fat (lipid)
found in your blood. Whenever you eat something your body automatically turns any calories it
feels is unnecessary for you to have into triglycerides.
The triglycerides are then stored in your fat cells, and later on the hormones in your body will set
free triglycerides to be used as energy for you in between your meals. Your triglyceride level result
is 145 mg/dl which is good. A normal triglyceride level is considered to be Less than 150
milligrams per deciliter (mg/dL). Both Triglycerides and cholesterol are separate types

Spanking In The United States
Let s look at the results of this survey. All of the Republican voters believe that it is acceptable for
someone to spank their children. On the other hand, 33 percent of Third Party voters agree with
spanking while the other 67 percent disagree with spanking. The Democratic voters are the ones
whose beliefs on spankingare quite evident only 13.86 of them agree with spanking while the rest, a
whopping 86.14 percent, do not agree with spanking their children. Do you notice a trend here? As
shown by the results of the survey, Democrats tend to not agree with corporal punishment. Although
this doesn t hold true every time (there are exceptions), if someone doesn t agree with corporal
punishment then they are extremely likely to be a Democrat.... Show more content on

This is because they carry their liberal ideas with them into other aspects of their life such as how
they punish their children. Also, the fact that America has gradually become more and more liberal
and has implemented liberal legislation into its government since then also explains why most
liberals don t use corporal punishment, which is because they believe that corporal punishment is
outdated. Another trend: since those who vote for Hillary Clinton carry their tolerance and
empathy with them beyond the voting posts also tend to believe that corporal punishment is old
fashioned, they will most likely not believe in using corporal punishment to discipline their
children. All of these different trends make it possible to explain how who a person votes for
correlates with how they discipline their children, and why voting for Hillary means someone is not

Overt Sexualization in American Apparel’s Advertising Essay
In the twentieth century, advertising evolved into a form of persuasive social discourse intended
primarily to influence how we perceive the buying and consumption of goods, (Danesi 179). Does
sex sell? American Apparel s advertisements use sexual images to sell their products, it is a strategy
that has caused much controversy because it is the woman being put in the advertisement in a

Another strategy American Apparel uses in this advertisement is creating an advertisement that [is]

strategy American Apparel uses in this advertisement is the endorsement of a celebrity. Although
one might not know who the female is in the advertisement, it is interesting that the copy in the
bottom right hand corner says, Meet Lauren Phoenix. 150lbs of magic. Actress. Director. Look her
up on Google. Lauren Phoenix is a Canadian former pornographic actress who studied music at
the University of Western Ontario. She was hired by American Apparel in 2005 to model their
socks and underwear. Hiring a pornographic actress adds to the idea of this erotic and sexualized
advertisement. Socks are a piece of clothing that is worn on ones feet. Socks keep ones feet
warm in the cold weather and they also help with perspiration since feet are one of the heaviest
producers of sweat in the human body. Knee high socks are associated with formal and work
wear, as well as sports or school uniforms. Wearing knee high socks or tube socks during sports is
to help protect ones legs while participating in sport activities. Knee high socks date back to the

outlets have shown that females wearing socks during sexual intercourse will heighten their
orgasm. Also, knee high socks, or tube socks, have

Daphnia Research Paper
Copper is a naturally occurring element that can be found in all plants and animals. A certain
amount of copper is necessary for health, and the human body has developed a way to maintain
the proper level of copper in it (Minnesota). Even so, large concentrations of copper, and general
long term exposure, can have a negative impact on the body. Symptoms include stomachaches,
vomiting, diarrhea, liver and kidney damage, and even death (Lenntech). Exposure to copper
comes from many areas, but the most common one is through the water. Copper is commonly
found in plumbing pipes, which can lead to high levels of copper in drinking water and fresh
water sources due to erosion. Lakes and streams are also treated with copper to prevent algae
overgrowth (Group). Copper concentrations that exceed 20 micrograms per gram can be toxic to
any living thing (Solomon). Copper binds easily to organic matter, which means it levels are rather
high in animals that can filter materials from water; although biomagnification doesn t occur in the
food web. In terms of aquatic organisms and ecosystems, copper is one of the most toxic metals,
and aquatic organisms tend to be more sensitive to its effects. Daphnia are normally used to test
potentially harmful substances in water supplies, and are easy to handle and monitor. This

Russia s Foreign Policy During The Cold War
At the height of the Cold War, Soviet foreign policy of the time was simple: increase world
influence through the spread of communism in order to undermine democracy, specifically the
United States. Today, Russia s foreign policy appears confusing to most westerners because of the
wide scope of Russian efforts but the objective is still the same: increase world influence. Currently,
Russiaadopts a flexible diplomatic outlook by entering alliances that serve a temporary but
strategically significant purpose. Current global conditions and Russia s foreign policy will
complicate the United States international strategy by increasing global economic competition
through economic partnerships with China and small military engagements within central and
eastern Europe and the Middle East. During the Cold War, Russia dominated the Eastern Bloc not
only in its military capability but through its economy as well. While Soviet products were not
considered to be of the highest quality, their manufacturing capability, supported by defense
spending was considerable. Whenever the Soviet economy floundered or the socialist/communistic
system was questioned, inevitably the Soviets assigned blame to capitalism and western influences.
In reality, when Mikhail Gorbachev became the general secretary of the communist party in 1985,
he instituted a major reform program with the intent of improving economic conditions for the
Soviet Unionand its satellite states (History.com). The economic

The Role Of Eugenics In The Twentieth Century
In the twentieth century, the eugenics movement assembled a powerful coalition of progressives,
intellectuals, and professionals to advocate an agenda of eugenic legal reform. This agenda
centered on the belief that many undesirable traits are hereditary and that the government should be
permitted to remove those traits from the racial stock. Those who were mentally disabled or ill, or
belonged to socially disadvantaged groups were the main targets for the movement. C.W. Saleeby
once statedThe feeble minded, and the alcoholic, and the insane, and those afflicted with venereal
disease, must be so guarded and treated in the future that they shall not become parents at all. This
disgusting and ignorant way of thinking was how many eugenicists felt. Sadly, our government

The scary part is that many of them perceived their agenda of separating the classes as following
the objective logic of science. They were unable to see that their white privilege and economic
privilege biased their understandings of science. Their way of thinking was more on the lines of:
Stop permitting criminals and weaklings to reproduce. All over the country today we have
enormous insane asylums and similar institutions where we nourish the unfit and criminal instead
of exterminating them (Luther Burbank), however, both genetics and reality are far more
complicated than that. Brilliant parents do not produce brilliant children and criminals do not
produce criminals. Eugenicists also failed to realize that social conditions such as poverty and
lack of access to education and health care are much more likely to cause negative social
outcomes than genetics. A couple questions I asked myself was What s fair? and Who decides?
Who determines what is desirable? One s color, education, disability, or bad habit does not

Observation Paper On Body Art
Different fashions will come in and out of style but people want to be able to stand out in their
own manner showing the world how they express themselves. A common form of self expression
is by getting a piercing or tattoo, something that can set a person apart from the majority. Body
piercings and tattoos on women at one time were unacceptable and distasteful in the United States.
However over time women having assorted types of body arthas become more acceptable in
society. Today young women at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, use piercings and
tattoos as a form of self expression that is vastly encouraged by peers and social media. Each
woman has a different reason for why they personally want a piercing or a tattoo but are there some
factors that have influenced the college community of women as a whole?
As I started my research to find out what influences college aged women to get a piercing or
tattoo, I wanted my observation to take place where many different types of college women
could be found. I chose the campus library where women of all different ethnicities, religions,

this painting might be ordinary and simple, I think Warhol s reason for creating this art, along with
most of his other art, is what made Warhol s art so famous and popular. As Warhol stated himself, I

The Rime Of The Ancient Mariner
Coleridge?s Hidden Journal: ?The Rime of the Ancient Mariner? Samuel Taylor Coleridge?s
?Rime of the Ancient Mariner? is a piece known to many in some vague way or another. An
elderly sailor, a ghostly ship, and the killing of an albatross are all present in many people?s
minds, although they may not entirely know the whole tale. Although well known today, the
most activity ?Rime? has seen was in its beginnings. It has its fair share of praise and criticism,
praise given posthumously and criticism given while Coleridge was alive. Other than criticisms
on the actual text, many people claim that Coleridge borrowed the ideas of others and used them.
One must look past the criticisms and negative reviews on an author?s work in order to truly
understand it. This would aid a reader in realizing ?Rime? is full of religious truths, subtly
illustrating Coleridge?s religious opinions. More than this, ?Rime? is a hidden pathway to
Coleridge?s soul, as it allowed him to relieve grief and pain, illustrate his hopes and dreams, and
express his true feelings about his life and the lives of all. Although Samuel Taylor Coleridge?s
?Rime of the Ancient Mariner? was criticized by many, it was more than a poem stuffed with
borrowed ideas and stitched together with imagination; rather, it was an outlet for Coleridge, a

Rock And Roll In The 1950s
1950 s
Introduction
The 1950s was largely dominated by Rock and Roll as the Rock and Roll era had emerged. This
Genre of music developed from other styles of music such as country, Jazz, and gospel.
One Reason for the sudden emergence of Rock and Roll was because of the likes of Elvis Presley,
Chuck Berry, Fats Domino and other Rock and Roll icons that have transformed music, as we know
it.
Pioneer of Rock and Roll
During the early 50s, many artists were coming out with there own Rock and Roll songs making
it difficult for us to identify who was the pioneer of Rock and Roll. Today most people think of
Elvis Presley when they hear Rock and Roll however the very first Rock and Roll hit was called
Rock around the Clock by Bill Haley and his Comets. This song released in 1955 was considered
to be the first international hit that spread to millions across the globe, but it wasn t the first Rock
song written. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The difference between these two early Rock songs is that with more knowledge about the genre
Rock around the Clock grabbed a larger audience. What made it an international hit is what makes
most rock songs today a hit. A mix of different instruments such as the saxophone, drums and the
guitar, and although the lyrics are repetitive, it s almost like they become hypnotic to the listener.
Culture Although its true that Rock and Roll was developed from other styles of music but it
was actually the mix of Black culture and white spreading that truly advanced it. As Black artists
and bands like the Dominoes began to combine gospel music and add more aggressive rhymes to
them creating rock and roll. After these song began reaching a wider audience being the White
teens who enjoyed this type of thrilling music. After this type of music spread Rock and roll was
now based around the image of Elvis

Dostoyevsky †Notes from Underground’ Critique Essay
Notes from Underground was published in 1864 as a feature presentation of his first 1860 issue
The Epoch . Notes from Underground was written by the author during a time when he faced
many challenges in his life. Dostoyevsky faced failure in the publishing of his first journal Time
, his financial position was becoming weaker and embarrassing. Moreover, his wife was dying
and his conservatism was eroded leading to a decline in his popularity with the liberal reading
Russians and consequently, he became the focus of attack by the radical and liberal press (Fanger
3). Therefore, this research seeks to find how the author presents the aspect of underground man
and how he approached Charles Darwins thoughts of man in Origin of the... Show more content on

By the time the author had completed writing Notes from Underground the society had moved to
liberalism and abandoned reasoning and enlightenment (Frank 35). This is clearly represented in
this novel since by the end, as the author concluded that there was more to man than enlightenment
and reasoning.
The underground man is an educated, literate, forty year old financially stable man, who, lives in a
modern society. As the novel progresses, the underground man remembers the days he used to work
without any affection. The man lives now alone in a place described as unattractive where he is
completely cut off from friends and family (Fanger 5). This situation provides an indication of the
troubles underground man is going through for they do not arise from work, money problems or the
lack of social interaction opportunities. This man has money, is educated and has plenty of social
interaction opportunities but he d rather remain in his solitude, Dostoevsky shows that in all respect
the man has reached enlightenment (Frank 36).
The problems of underground man are all concerned with what is happening to him from the
inside. This man is suffering from a disease that arises from his lack of feeling completely healthy.
Though the novel has depicted many medical discussions on doctors, liver problems, medicines, the
real disease is emotional distress. The entire first section of the book is about how emotionally
troubled the underground

The Characteristics Of Reuven In The Chosen By Chaim Potok
The overwhelming traits of Reuven So, what does a person think when he sees a Jew? Does he
only look at his long curls or his weird hat? Does he wonder if he showers or not? Are they nice
or just shrewd and prideful? Well Reuven from the book The Chosen by Chaim Potok, a Jew in
the 1900 s, displays distinct characteristics that would surprise most people. For example, he stands
for others when they need him, he even remains caring to those who have offended him. Reuven
displays many characteristics that many people wish they had. In book The Chosen by Chaim Potok
, Reuven displays amazing character traits such as unstoppable determination, unconditional
kindness, and the ability to listen. First and foremost, one of Reuven s most... Show more content on

No, I said (95). The significant part of this passage reads when Reuven says No . This remains
important because four days earlier, Danny Saunders nailed him in his eye with a baseball
purposely. And even though Danny Saunders did that awful thing, Reuven let him sit next to him.
What an act of kindness and forgiveness! Because Reuven let Danny sit next to him, gesturing an
act of forgiveness, his exhibited his unrelenting kindness. Overall, Reuven s skill to forgive Danny
even though he hurt him, designates his personality trait of kindness. Finally, a personality trait that
most women wish their husbands had, the ability to listen. Listening to his Dad and friend,
Reuven demonstrates it the most. My father stopped, looked at me with a smile, and said, You are
not asleep yet, Reuven? No Abba. .... I smiled back at him and waited patiently (143). As a person
can clearly see, Reuven listened to his father intently during his whole lecture, thus proving his
amazing ability to listen. Another example exists when his friend Danny and him started a long
walk to Danny s house. During their walk, Danny talked to him the whole time, and all Reuven did,
was look at him and listened to what he had to say. Hence, when Danny kept on babbling about
whatever he had to exclaim, Reuven stood to his wonderful character, and listened. Through his
encompassing determination, designating kindness, and the ability to look and

My First Trip To Football
CARLISLE 28 EATON 20 USED ROSTERS FROM HUDL.COM
Last night my travels took me to Carlisle, Ohio to watch the hometown Indians host the Eaton
Eagles. This was my first trip to Carlisle and it would mark the first time since the 2015 season,
that I have watched the Indians. I would be seeing the Eagles for the first time ever.
I expected a much larger crowd but as many times this season it was not the case, but those who
were there got to see a good competitive game, that was entertaining especially from the defensive
side of things.
The Indians defense would set the tone early in this one, when Daniel Smith teamed up with
teammate Gage Smith, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Heading into the second quarter this one looked very even, even though the Eagles offense was yet
to soar, while the Indians offense had shown a glimpse of going on the warpath a couple of times.
Just twenty six seconds into the second quarter Moore fumble the ball and scooping it up and
going about fifty six yards for the score for the Eagles was Chip Parker. Parker easily outran the
offense, who looked like a fighter, who had just been tagged by a Ali right cross. The pointafter
kick was missed causing this to stay a 13 7 Eagles lead.
The Indians offense would work the ball down to the Eagles thirty four yard line and from there
Chambers electrified the crowd, with a Archie Griffin like run, back when he was running for the
buckeyes. The point after kick gave the Indians the lead at 14 13, with 5:31left in the half. On the
drive the Eagles defense again had problems tackling and this really led to a lot of extra yards for
the Indians.
With 3:41 it appeared their was pass interference on the Indians receiver, but the ref said the ball
was tipped before the interference happened and this led to a interception by Moore on the pass
thrown by Ryan Venable. This play really seem to change the game and in my way of thinking the
Eagles fought hard but never overcame this call.
Defense was big again, with :27 seconds left in the half, when Moore was taken down by #54(Not
on the Eagles roster)

The fault for this is widespread growth of certain ethnic groups caused by immigration, paired with technology that allows for unprecedented connectivity. Consequently, this allows minority groups to rapidly spread their cultureand ideas throughout the country and influence the majorities like never before. Although it is not specifically stated, it can be inferred that the narrators are not of one particular gender or age category, but are a large combination of diverse bystanders compiled to recount the notorious events of the life of Emily Grierson. Additionally, it is implied that the narrators are Caucasian men and women during a time in which white superiority prevailed, for it is made evident in the story by the presence of offensive racial, derogatory terms such as negro and nigger, and by the fact that Emily had hired black domestic maintenance for her home. On the contrary, the rose symbolizes the pity and sympathy in which the author feels for the protagonist as the story progresses and reveals the tragic incidents that have permeated her life with solemn misery. In the era in which this work was originally created, it was common to offer a rose to one who has endured great suffering to display their emotions of sorrow and condolence. Therefore, the title itself unveils that Emily might partake on a journey of heartbreak and bitterness and would be the epitome of a valid recipient of rose in that period. A logical reason as to why the title is not A Rose for Miss Emily is that it might reveal more of the story than Faulkner had originally intended. When addressing the protagonist as Miss, the reader immediately knows that she is a maiden, without a husband and maybe without a true love. However, when Emily is simply referred to by her first name, the audience is given broader horizon and a greater amount of space to imagine how the details of the story will unfold. In the Blurred Lines Case, indirect evidence was used in proving music recording s two copyright protections were infringement upon: (1) a copyright in the underlying composition and (2) a copyright in the sound recording. This is problematic as Blurred Lines did not infringe on the Actual Copying claim; jurors confused the underlying composition and sound recording for style, when style is not protectable copyright for music recordings. According to their study, texting and driving is just as bad as driving while intoxicated ( Killer Brace Position ). My professor, Dr. Branyon, was also a victim of how distracting texting is. He was on the way to class one day when a student who was unaware of her surroundings kept walking and ended up knocking my professor over. The worst part about texting is how it eliminates ... • 20. Excise A Tumor Poem Analysis The first line in How to Excise a Tumor is don t fall in love with it, whatever you do, and given this poem seems like it is going to be about how to remove a tumor, this advice seems fairly obvious. After all, who would fall in love with something as horrible as a tumor? But for Safiya Sinclair, this is the opening line, the defining line, of this poem and in her poem, How to Excise a Tumor, Safiya Sinclair uses the speakers tumor as a symbol for an unwanted child. Through the poetical devices such as metaphors and imagery, Sinclair weaves a tale of a tumor and its human. How to Excise a Tumor is a relatively short poem of 27 lines. It details what advice the speaker has to those who, presumably, have discovered they have a tumor. She, the speaker, gives suggestions and warnings like don t fall in love with [the tumor] and it will always want more that you can give. This is good advice to those with literal tumors as well as those whose tumors are a bit more metaphorical, as is the speaker s tumor. Her tumor is an undesired child, possibly the product of sexual assault. The speaker says the tumor will move to leech at your nipples, and other parts of you will grow hot to show how the reader s initial uncaring provisions will turn into warmth and affection for the child. As the reader s affection grows and the child make[s] a home in the damp chasms of your heart, the speaker believes you ll begin to see the good in everything, but despite how wonderful that situation might sound, the speaker lets the readers know otherwise. She again warns the reader that the tumor will [make] such a mes of your dreams and to not give in to accidental pleasure. All of the speaker s warnings show that she regrets giving into her tumor and not doing more to get rid of it which creates a theme of unhappiness. That theme is further supported by the metaphors scattered throughout How to Excise a Tumor. One such metaphor is the blind aphid. An aphid is a small bug that feeds destructively on plants and a blind aphid would be particularly undiscerning. Without sight, the aphid chew[s] straight through the core. In other words, the aphid or the tumor continues eating and taking until it has destroyed the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 21. Questions On The Decision Of An Option Contract Essay Problem page 184 Parts 1 and 2 1.Chapter 2 explained that a promise made by an offeror that effectively limits the offeror s power to revoke the offer is referred to as an option contract. When A offered to sell B Greenacre and set a fixed time period of five days for the offeree to accept the option the contract was sealed. Therefore A would be wrong to deny having a contract with B. 2.Restatement 43 gives the specific ways that A could have been right in stating that there was no contract with B. One of the obvious ways would have been if B did not accept the option within the designated time period. Another reason that comes to mind is if an offeror diverts from the original offer. Had the information given to B from the recorder had been reliable then s A stated the option would have no longer been an agreement between the two but in this case it was erroneous and unreliable. Notes pg. 225 Question 1 Parts 1, 2, 3, and 4 1.Step Saver felt that the acceptance of any terms and conditions of their agreement was done so by the consumer in various actions. The initial acceptance would be the completion of the purchase over the phone and the receipt of the merchandise. • 22. Why Software Testing With Real Users Week6 Hand in Assignment There are a number of reasons why software testing with real users views are important, even if the software is still being developed. One of the main reasons is that testing can bring value to the end product. Software testing demonstrates that defects are detected in the application that was developed. The process validates and verifies the software in order to ensure that the product meets the highest business and technical requirements that directed its design and development in the first place. The stakeholders involved in development or purchasing of software spend tremendous amount of resources in doing so and tend to want the software testing efforts to succeed and ensure that a quality product be produced. Hence, it is important for them to test the software in order to validate their implementations. The prototyping phase involves making critical decisions regarding the functionality, effectiveness, and appropriateness of the new system to be developed [Ambler, 2002]. It is part of the rudimentary phase of software development cycle, there can be significant cost of iteration if there are any major changes that are made to the system functionality after the design gets converted into code implementations or in a working model. In the development cycle, there are many instances during the process of software development when the stakeholders/clients change their requirements mid way or the development team may have misinterpreted ... Thank you for coming in to meet with me today. Today I ll be going over your recent lab work along with the results. The last time you were in to see the doctor he ordered testing for you that is known as a lipid panel or a cholesterol panel. A lipid panel is done to measure four main things which are your cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, and LDL I will now tell you a little about your results and explain what your results mean for your health. You may feel free to ask any questions to gain clarification of anything that you may not understand. First I will discuss your Triglyceride level results, I want to explain to you exactly what triglycerides are before giving you your personal result. Triglycerides are a type of fat (lipid) found in your blood. Whenever you eat something your body automatically turns any calories it feels is unnecessary for you to have into triglycerides. The triglycerides are then stored in your fat cells, and later on the hormones in your body will set free triglycerides to be used as energy for you in between your meals. Your triglyceride level result is 145 mg/dl which is good. A normal triglyceride level is considered to be Less than 150 milligrams per deciliter (mg/dL). Another trend: since those who vote for Hillary Clinton carry their tolerance and empathy with them beyond the voting posts also tend to believe that corporal punishment is old fashioned, they will most likely not believe in using corporal punishment to discipline their children. • 28. Daphnia Research Paper Copper is a naturally occurring element that can be found in all plants and animals. A certain amount of copper is necessary for health, and the human body has developed a way to maintain the proper level of copper in it (Minnesota). Even so, large concentrations of copper, and general long term exposure, can have a negative impact on the body. Symptoms include stomachaches, vomiting, diarrhea, liver and kidney damage, and even death (Lenntech). Exposure to copper comes from many areas, but the most common one is through the water. Copper is commonly found in plumbing pipes, which can lead to high levels of copper in drinking water and fresh water sources due to erosion. Lakes and streams are also treated with copper to prevent algae overgrowth (Group). Copper concentrations that exceed 20 micrograms per gram can be toxic to any living thing (Solomon). Copper binds easily to organic matter, which means it levels are rather high in animals that can filter materials from water; although biomagnification doesn t occur in the food web. In terms of aquatic organisms and ecosystems, copper is one of the most toxic metals, and aquatic organisms tend to be more sensitive to its effects. Russia s Foreign Policy During The Cold War At the height of the Cold War, Soviet foreign policy of the time was simple: increase world influence through the spread of communism in order to undermine democracy, specifically the United States. Today, Russia s foreign policy appears confusing to most westerners because of the wide scope of Russian efforts but the objective is still the same: increase world influence. Currently, Russiaadopts a flexible diplomatic outlook by entering alliances that serve a temporary but strategically significant purpose. Current global conditions and Russia s foreign policy will complicate the United States international strategy by increasing global economic competition through economic partnerships with China and small military engagements within central and eastern Europe and the Middle East. During the Cold War, Russia dominated the Eastern Bloc not only in its military capability but through its economy as well. While Soviet products were not considered to be of the highest quality, their manufacturing capability, supported by defense spending was considerable. Whenever the Soviet economy floundered or the socialist/communistic system was questioned, inevitably the Soviets assigned blame to capitalism and western influences. Those who were mentally disabled or ill, or belonged to socially disadvantaged groups were the main targets for the movement. C.W. All over the country today we have enormous insane asylums and similar institutions where we nourish the unfit and criminal instead of exterminating them (Luther Burbank), however, both genetics and reality are far more complicated than that. Samuel Taylor Coleridge?s ?Rime of the Ancient Mariner? is a piece known to many in some vague way or another. An elderly sailor, a ghostly ship, and the killing of an albatross are all present in many people?s minds, although they may not entirely know the whole tale. Although well known today, the most activity ?Rime? has seen was in its beginnings. It has its fair share of praise and criticism, praise given posthumously and criticism given while Coleridge was alive. Other than criticisms on the actual text, many people claim that Coleridge borrowed the ideas of others and used them. One must look past the criticisms and negative reviews on an author?s work in order to truly understand it. This would aid a reader in realizing ?Rime? is full of religious truths, subtly illustrating Coleridge?s religious opinions. More than this, ?Rime? is a hidden pathway to Coleridge?s soul, as it allowed him to relieve grief and pain, illustrate his hopes and dreams, and express his true feelings about his life and the lives of all.
