The Twenty Thousand Dollar Death
There are numerous reasons that might have caused Willy Loman to end his life. In Arthur
Miller s play, Death of a Salesman, Loman is in conflict with his son, Biff Loman, his job as a
salesman, and himself. In the play Loman s job as a salesman no longer became beneficial to
him and his family. As time passed by, new ideas and younger salesmen began to take over the
salesman industry, and Loman was left behind. His wife, Linda, and he discuss all of the bills
that have to be paid by the end of the month, including their house payment. However, since
Loman was taken off salary and is only on commission, he is only bringing home seventy dollars
a week. Loman s concern about their financial status is displayed when he says to his wife
Linda, A hundred and twenty dollars! My God, if business don t pick up I don t know what I m
gonna do (Miller 1490). Unfortunately, Loman and his wife Linda have no support from their
sons, Biff and Happy, since neither of them have a career. In addition to not having a career, their
relationship towards each other was not secure due to Loman s unfaithfulness. Several years back
into Loman s daily flashbacks, Biff found his dad with another woman in a hotel during a trip in
Boston. For all his life, Biff thought of his dad as a hero until he was proved wrong the night at
the hotel. Everything and everyone changed after that night. Biff gave up football and referred to
his dad as a, phony little fake (1542). Although, Biff and Loman

Saudi Arabia Women Rights
Saudi Arabia is one of largest Muslim populated Countries in the world that follows the Islamic
culture. Their laws are called the Laws of God , which are interpreted from the Quran. The Laws
of God also known as the Sharia laws, these laws have abundant control on Saudi Arabian women,
Muslim citizens, and Non Muslim expats. Women of Saudi Arabiahave limited rights based on
their Islamic beliefs, but are gradually making progress to uplifting some restrictions. Muslim
citizens, both men and women have rigorous rules to follow, based on religious interpretation of
the Quran. Furthermore, Non Muslim citizens are stripped of their rights to Freedom of Religion,
which makes it very difficult to express your own spiritual beliefs.
Saudi Arabian women have numerous restrictions that must be followed. For example, driving is
believed to jeopardize social principles. Saudi Arabia s conservative religious establishment are
opposed to allowing women the right to drive, arguing that it would undermine social values (

Do Athletes Get Paid Too Much
Do Athletes get paid too much? Yes, Athletes get paid too much money. Accordingly to the
article, from LeBron James making 71 million dollars and the President does not make as much
money as LeBron James. Nurses, and other people who save lives do not make as much money
as LeBron James. No Doubt,LeBron James salary is way more than most people who work for
regular jobs get regular paid amounts of money while athletes get big paid amounts of money. We
get entertained by them. But mostly, they shouldn t get paid as much money. At this point, athletes
are paid way more than people who save lives. Should athletes deserve getting paid this much?
Some athletes go on big vacations and are still getting paid even when they don t play in their
games.

Religious Freedom And Separation Of Church And State Essay
After many frustrations and disputes arising out of the Commonwealth of Virginia, the termination
of Bill Establishing A Provision for Teachers of Christian Religion and the new Virginia Statue for
Religious Freedom mark a necessary and significant turn. The people of Virginia can finally savor
the religious freedom that they longed for. I shall hereby applaud the efforts pushed forth by the
honorable James Madison, Thomas Jefferson and so many others who shared the common stance
on religious freedom and separation of church and state. However, the achievement seemed
provincial when placed in the context of the larger United States. The new nation is at great stake
because the congregational church in Massachusetts disallows and persecutes any deviation from
its core religious interpretation; Jews are perceived as the enemies of the Christ by a large group of
people; and the Catholic minority in many states still suffers. Therefore, absolute religious freedom
and the separation of church and state shall be guaranteed in the new constitution in order to
maintain the supremacy of Godover the state and purity of the God we trust, annihilate the violence,
persecution and tyrannies the God disdains, uphold the God given natural rights we once fought for
and construct this blessed new nation to be free and prosperous.
God is the divine creator of the universe whereas civil laws are the derivative of humankind. In
other words, Christian Religion pre existed any form of state or

The Road Corridor As An Important Area For Future...
In 2006, The City of East Lansing referred to The Trowbridge Road Corridor as an important
area for future redevelopment in their Big Picture Comprehensive Plan. Being a main route to
East Lansing and Michigan State University it allows high visibility and access to and from the
surrounding neighborhoods. In order to encourage future development in this area, most of the
properties along that corridor needed to be redeveloped. Review for this project began in 2007.
Due to the original design for the car oriented area, the corridor and the surrounding land did not
perfectly complement each other. The addition of numerous curb cuts and disjointed interior
vehicle connections increased the dysfunction between cars and pedestrians. Pedestrian safety,
highway and train noise, conditions of the parking lot, heavy pass through traffic, depth of the
parcels south of Trowbridge, and lack of marketing focus are a few of the preexisting
weaknesses of the site. River Caddis Developing is the firm responsible for the development of
the Trowbridge Village. River Caddis development has acquired developed and/or redeveloped
around two hundred million dollars of multifamily and commercial assets in states throughout the
country (McGraw, 2015). This project alone reached close to 17 million dollars. Trowbridge
Village offers students unique and new places to shop and dine in the convenience of their
backyard. In total the village stretches to almost 47,000 square feet. Trowbridge Lofts

Canterbury Tales Characteristics
In Geoffrey Chaucer s The Canterbury Tales which portrays a community of people from differing
social backgrounds that come from all of England for a pilgrimage to Canterbury. On this
pilgrimage they wish to receive blessings from St. Thomas ГЎ Becket, an English martyr. They all
meet at the Tabard Inn in April, the beginning of spring. Chaucer whom is the narrator goes on to
describe the other twenty nine pilgrims, and the Host of the inn suggests that they should each tell
two stories to help pass the time. Whoever tells the best tale will receive a free meal from the Host.
Many of these tales reflected the medieval society and culture at the time. The Canterbury Taleshas
many different genres such as courtly romance, Breton, tragedy, and etc. Also, it was written in
Middle English as it was tales that the common people of London could enjoy. In total there are
24 tales, some uncompleted however, with the tales that are finished or nearly finished, an
interesting one is Franklin s tale. In Chaucer s general prologue the Franklin is characterized as
a ruddy and cheerful man. The Franklin is a middle class citizen that works as the sheriff and
tax auditor. In line 338 9 the Franklin is described as: For he was Epicurus very son, That held
opinion that plain and pure delight... meaning that his goal in life was to pleasure or to live in
the moment. The Franklin s house was never short of food such as fish or pies. These lines also
describe him as: Saint Julian he was in his own country (l. 342) Saint Julian was the patron saint
of hospitality meaning that Chaucer is stating that the Franklin is a generous and kind man. One
could also conclude that he was an alcoholic, but besides that is a overall good citizen. However,
he was broken one of the seven deadly sinswhich is being gluttoned. In the prologue of his tale, the
Franklin gives a disclaimer that he is a simple man and does not know the rhetoric. Franklin
states that he I slept never on the Mount of Parnassus, Nor learned Marcus Tullius Cicero (l. 721
2). He is referring to the home of Muses, which is the home of music and poetry, and Cicero the
scholar. The Franklin is going to tell this story as best as he can through his simple speech. The tale

Through the use of social media, we can connect with friends and family and be informed of what
is currently happening in the world. Social media can have its positives and negatives. Social
development can be interrupted because of the media. The use of social media can hinder social
development because it causes health issues, makes you feel lonely and causes anxiety.
The use of social media can hinder social development because it causes health issues. In the
article, Social Networking: Failure to Connect it states, Reports of cyber bullying, happy slapping,
even self harm and suicide attempts motivated by social networking sites have become increasingly
common in the eight years since Friendster and then Myspace, Bebo and Facebook launched. In
other words, different types of health concerns have been reported due to social media. These
health issues are caused by negativity and negligence that the media has caused. Social

Flexible Spending Account Analysis
The deductible is the amount the member pays for services after claim have been processed by the
insurance company. The insurance determines the amount that s applied towards the members
deductible. The amount owed depends on facts of the claim such as the type of service(s) the
quantity of the service(s), and where the service took place. It could take many services like doctor
s visits, test, prescriptions refills, to meet the full deductible. The patient will receive a statement
(bill) from the service provider for the amount determined by the insurancecompany.

It s like you can either pay now or later when it comes to deductibles. With low deductible plans,
some employers may offer a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) to help with medical expenses.
Typically, low deductible plans have higher co pays that can be paid with the FSA card.
Flexible spending account FSA and health savings accounts HSA have some similarities, but
they are different. They both have a limit to the amount you can contribute and both offers
convenient debit cards to be used for medical expenses. The FSA allow for all funds to be
available the first day benefits active. The FSA will not allow unused funds to be rolled over to

Once a members deductible is met the insurance company will then pay claims at a cost sharing

Descriptive Essay On Animals
On October 19th 2017, my classmates and I had the opportunity to visit the Lamar Bruni
Vergara Environmental Center. During our visit, we toured the facility and were privileged to
have an employee inform us on the grand diversity of the species found in our region.
Throughout the tour, we observed and discussed a variety of animals, however in this paper I
decided to focus on five: The first species we encountered during our tour was a bobcat or Lynx
rufus. The bobcat s phylum is chordata and from the class mammalia. It belongs to the order
carnivora, which consists of meat eating organisms. The bobcat then falls under the family, felidae
commonly referred to as the family of cats. Found all throughout North America, from southern
Canada to central Mexico, the bobcats can live in habitats like mountain ranges, prairies, and
deserts. These habitats are favorable to bobcats because they can camouflage with their
environment and have more success as hunters. Bobcats are known for their brown reddish coat
with black spots and a few stripes. Apart from their coat which allows them to camouflage,
bobcats are also efficient hunters because of their speed and intelligence. When approaching its
prey, a bobcats tends to creep on its victim and attack once it is close enough. Using its sharp teeth,
claws, and strength, this wildcat can kill prey much larger than its size. Their diet consists of
mostly rabbits, hares, and mice. Aside from those animals, bobcats sometimes prey on

Legalization Of Marijuan Recreational And Medicinal Purposes
Marijuana: Recreational to Cultural to Medicinal Purpose and Legalization Kalpana Sapkota
Northwestern Oklahoma State University Abstract This paper provides detailed information about
the controversial topic that is the legalization of marijuana. Different articles proved that legal
status of marijuana has been debated vigorously and will continue to be a heated debate for years
to come. Marijuana has its negative effect but it can be used for recreational, cultural and medicinal
purposes. Different people have different views regarding legalization of marijuana, but the most
significant argument against legalization is that governmental approval of marijuana as a
prescription drug would send the wrong message to the general population and would cause more
extensive recreational use of this drug. The appropriate government response to the negative effects
is to fight them directly b stopping the illegal practitioners from doing them (Barnes, 2000, p.29).
Legalization of marijuana does not force people to use it but it is a personal choice to have it or not.
Marijuana has its positive and negative effects, but the government should make plan to increase
the positive effect and to eliminate the negative effect. Keywords: controversial,
neuropharmacologic, long term memory, short term memory, Mahashivaratri. Marijuana the
common drug The term marijuana is a word with many different names and indistinct origins. It is
a Latin, American and Spanish word.

Discussion of the Article The Influence of Economists on...
Discussing the Federal Reserve After reading the article, The Influence of Economists on the
Federal Reserve Act, it is apparent the author is trying to suggest that the economists played a
major role in the banking reform which led to the development of the Federal Reserve Act. During
the late 1800 s and early 1900 s, issues regarding the framework for which the bankoperates on was
inconsistent and did not perform as projected in foreseeable emergency situations. For this reason,
economists developed strategies and offered a plan that would deter the U.S. from the current sub
tier banking system currently in place into a more reliable centralized banking system. The author
gives evidence to this by including an array of economists... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

With copious amounts of supporting details, the author s point of view may be one that focuses
on economists in relation to the Federal Reserve Act and less on political agendas. The
economists were the ones responsible for providing research and acknowledging different
solutions to the crisis of 1907. The author depicts economists in the article as direct advisors and
policy makers which gives the reader a better understanding of their roles in which they were
perceived by the Senate and Congress (Caporal, 2003). These were individuals that strived for
excellence and would go to great means to make an impact in the economy that would alter the
banking system forever. Whether a reader agrees or disagrees with how the centralized banking
system was created, the foundation for which it was built off of has continued to grow over a
century with key fundamentals still in place today. The author s implications demonstrate that an
economists, the intellectuals, were responsible for the banking reform that led to a structured
banking system. Could this all have been possible without the influence of the economists? In my
opinion, the author has provided enough evidence that would allow the reader to properly analyze
and have confidence in the integrity of the article. The conclusion of the article signifies the
influence the economist s had on the Federal Reserve Act and the

The Impact Of Technology On The Classroom
The Significance of Technology in My Classroom
The impact on technology in the classroom has opened many new windows for educators.
Technology can be used in various ways while working in a classroom, whether that be a first
grade classroom or a class of juniors in high school. Technology can help our students widen their
knowledge. When planning lessons, it is important that teachers incorporate some types of
technology. When technology is used in your lessons, the students will be able to achieve their
learning goals. While using technology in the classrooms, teachers and students are able to connect
with others around the world, making technology a useful tool in building your classroom into a
global learning community. The use of technology has been able to enhance and individualize
learning as well. While using technology it is important to remember to connect the content being
and the specific learning goals, otherwise the use of technology won t be as helpful during the lesson
. The use of technology will supplement instruction, allowing students to achieve content learning
goals. When implementing technology into your classroom, it is important that you incorporate
these aspects into your planning and teaching.
In my fourth grade classroom, technology will be used in planning and achieving student learning
goals. In each of the five lessons I have created, I have provided a video for the students to watch.
The videos are used to introduce each of the five food

Malicious Prosecution Essay
I.
The cases discussed below seem to agree on the four main elements of malicious prosecution: (1)
termination of earlier suit in the plaintiff s favor, (2) lack of probable cause for the suit, (3)
malice on the defendant s part, and (4) special injury flowing from the earlier suit. Frey v.
Stoneman, 722 P. 2d 274, 277 (Ariz. 1986); Young v. Motor City Apartments, 133 Mich. App.
671, 675, 350 N.W.2d 790, 792 (1984). Elements (2) and (3) are satisfied in our client s case: the
earlier suit lacked probable cause; and the suit was presumably malicious because the lienholder s
only motive was to put her out of business. Element (1) is dicussed under Issue I and element (4)
is discussed under Issue II below.

The court also stated that when a suit is terminated in a way that indicates the accused was
innocent of wrongdoing it constitutes a favorable termination and that ...Termination prior to trial

Minasian v. Sapse, 80 Cal.App.3d at 827, 145 Cal.Rptr. at 832). This would require trying a case
within a case to determine the outcome. The final decision on what is a favorable termination is
decided by the judge and any vagueness surrounding the termination of the prior proceedings is
determined by the factfinder. Since the court determined there were genuine issues of material fact
with respect to the details regarding the termination of the prior proceedings due to: (1) the
confusing nature of the termination, and (2) the conflicting judgments entered, the case was
remanded to resolve these issues.
Colli and Frey are similar in the sense that both cases are trying to determine whether the
circumstances surrounding the termination of the prior proceedings can satsify element (1)
requiring that they end in the plaintiffs favor through voluntary dismissals. Colli has to do with
satisfying the requirement through a voluntary dismissal without any debate; while Frey has been

Machiavelli and the Use of Antiquity in The Prince and The...
Machiavelli and the Use of Antiquity in The Prince and The Discourses
The Renaissance was a time of classical revival and a turning point from the Middle Ages to the
Early Modern period in the course of history. Ancient texts and artifacts became sources of
inspiration for intellectuals and artists alike, and the desire to emulate or even surpass the
achievements of the past prompted them to study antiquities closely and saw them as models and
guidance. People were consciously distinguishing themselves from the medieval thoughts and using
history to make something new for their own era. In the field of political philosophy there s no
exception. Niccolo Machiavelli is perhaps the most representative and groundbreaking figure of this
trend in political philosophy. With his erudition in ancient literature, histories and political thoughts,
Machiavelli draws various sources from antiquity to critic and response to the political environment
of histime. While one may find seemingly discrepancies in The Prince and The Discourse on the
First Ten Books of Tius Livy, the use of histories as guide to demonstrate or propose ideal rules is
apparent in both works. We should note that synthesizing ancient philosophy or thoughts with
contemporary thoughts is nothing new. Thomas Aquinas, for example, reconciled Aristotelianism
and Christianity in his work Summa Theologica, using ancient antiquity to back up his Christian
beliefs. What is so noteworthy in Machiavelli is his emphasis and

Characteristics Of The Slosson Intelligence Test
Slossons Critique
The academic placement of students in today s society is largely due to professional counselors
and intelligence test. What is the role of professional counselors? The role of a professional
counselor is to make quick assessment and devise a brief effective treatment strategy (Lassiter and
Bardos, 1995). Professional counselors use a number of tools to asses intelligence or IQ like,
Stanford Binet Intelligence scale (SB5), Wechsler Adult Intelligence scale(WAIS), Otis Lennon
school ability tests etc... The Slosson Intelligence test is one of the above described tools that
professional counselors use to efficiently obtain cognitive information about children ages 2
through 7 (Erford Pauletta 2005, P. 130). The Slosson Intelligence Test includes a nonverbal scale
and the development of norms (Erford Pauletta 2005, P. 130). The Slosson Intelligence Test was
designed to quantify a concept so elusive as is intelligence.
The SIT P derives a verbal standard score or (VSS) for short, nonverbal standard score (NSS),
and a total standard score (TSS) reported on the deviation IQ scale (M=100, SD=15) (Erford
Pauletta 2005, P. 131). The motive for this study was to investigate the technical characteristics of
the Slosson Intelligence Test with three separate samples of young children (Erford Pauletta 2005,
P. 131). The Slosson Intelligence Test went through many tests in of its self to prove that what its

Health Outcomes Of The World Health
More than a century ago, the first health outcome measure was proposed by Florence
Nightingale by classifying patients into relieved, unrelieved and dead (1). Other guides such as
mortality rates have historically been used to measure health outcomes at a population level (2).
However, the definition of health has changed in the past century to include a wider view of
outcomes which includes freedom from disease, ability to perform daily activities, happiness,
social and emotional well being, and quality of life. The World Health Organization (WHO) has
defined health as physical, mental, and social well being, and not merely the absence of disease
and infirmity (3). As a result numerous measures have been developed in an attempt to quantify
health. Health outcome measures are tools used to evaluate an individuals health using different
health related parameters. Patient Reported Outcomes Measures (PROMs) are instruments that

Free Bus Rides
Topic: Should the elderly receive free bus rides?
My opinion: yes!
Free Bus Rides for The Elderly
Should the elderly receive free bus rides? This is a controversial issue that many countries are
faced with in nowadays. People analyze this problem by taking both pros and cons into
consideration. Some people are in favor of the elderly riding bus for free because they have right to
benefit the giving back from the society to which they devote most of their lifetime. On the
other hand, some disapproval voices emerge in terms of influence of social economy or unequal
treatment between the elderly and the others. The reasons why I strongly believe the elderly
should receive free bus rides are lacking of finance, preventing traffic accidents, and promoting
public transportations. A lack of finance is the first reason that the elderly should receive free bus
rides. A majority of elderly is limited in their finance after they got retired; they are sometimes
even not able to pay their fundamental living needs such as medicine and groceries. According to
the U.S. Census Bureau, 12% seniors are living at the poverty level, and their income become
lower and lower with increasing age; therefore, they would have difficulty in their constant
expenses such as healthcare, housing, food, and so on. About 14.2% of all these expenses are spent
on transportation. The National Council on Aging shows as well that the elderly are struggling with
housing and health bills, lack of access to

Christianity and Buddhism: Are they Synonyms?
Every coin has two sides. Similarly, every issue consists of two different aspects be it political,
social, or religious. One of the biggest controversial topics encountered by most would be that of
religion. Some people believe that their religion is the only true religion. Although, there are some
people who understand that a religion is true to the person that believes in it. These are the people
that are able to find similarities between religions. In the movie, Little Buddha, Christianity and
Buddhism are found to be very similar in their preaching regarding life after death, their way of
living life, and their history.
One reason why Christianity ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Buddhism was started by a Hindu prince Siddhartha Guatama, who led a very happy and content
life without any worries until he witnessed sufferings in his kingdom and decided to find a cure.
In the movie, Little Buddha, he is shown to be meditating to attain enlightenment. While
meditating, he had to fight the evil god, Mara. After reaching nirvana he started spreading peace
by teaching good morals and the right way of living life. Similarly, Jesus also spread peace in
the world by preaching the right way of living life and good ethics. While spreading his wisdom,
he had to face many difficulties and opposition from other people. In the end, he willingly
crucified in order spread the good news and reach heaven which is similar to being enlightened in
Buddhism. Therefore, the history of both religions is almost the same since both Buddha and Jesus
wanted to end suffering and to do this they had to face many

Low Pilot Errors
Imagine being on an airplane. As the *ding* signals that it is now safe to remove your seat belt,
there is a sudden pitch down of the aircraft. As the aircraft spirals to the ground, the speed of the
aircraft increases, making the impact more fatal. The survival rate of a passenger in a fatal
crash is only 24%. Pilot error , being the leading cause of fatal plane crashes averaging at about
53%. This comes to show that many pilots are not prepared for the daily challenges they may
face while operating an aircraft which may often lead to fatal errors. Low pilot wages may be
fueling the push for pilot error. Many things contribute to low pilot wages affecting passenger
safety: Low salaries cause pilots to leave the life of flying in search for better pay, which causes
large pilot shortages worldwide and ultimately ends with unprepared pilots operating planes with
passengers on board; many pilots are in large debt which they are put in from all of the college and

the same low pay for upwards of 15 years before being promoted to better pay. Forcing pilots to

the flight deck. This poses a question, do pilots really deserve a tough life constantly struggling
with money considering how many people they help? No, pilot salaries should be raised because it
affects passenger safety. This is due to the reasons above: Low salaries cause pilots to leave the life

The Pickle Dish Symbolism In Ethan Frome
In the short story, Ethan Frome , the pickle dish symbolizes the relationship of Ethan Frome and
Zeena. The red pickle dish was a gift given to Ethan and Zeena on their wedding day. Zeena
considers it her favorite gift from the wedding. Mattie Silver, Zeenas cousin, comes to stay with
Ethan and Zeena. Ethan and Mattie have an affair that Zeena does not know about. While eating
dinner, Zeenas cat accidentally knocked over the pickle dish leaving Ethan and Mattie to deal with
the mess.
Since the pickle dish is her favorite dish Zeena keeps it in a china cabinet on a high shelf to protect

How Is Schindler s List Related To Steve Spielberg
Steven Spielberg is well known for creating absolute masterpieces, and Schindler s List is no
exception. Throughout the film we are presented with characters, such as Oskar Schindler, that we
get to witness grow as they are forced to live with the decisions they make. Schindler s List takes us
through the Holocaust; we see heartbreak, murder and we witness a single man become a hero to
generations.
Liam Neeson ( Taken ) portrays Oskar Schindler, a German businessman who sets off to make his
fortune in enamelware. Schindler, in this film, is similar to an onion lots of layers that all make
us want to cry by the end of it. Neeson s character is supported by Amon Goeth, the monster
known to shoot people at random, played by Ralph Fiennes ( Lord Voldemort from the Harry
Potter series). The film finishes just short of three and a half hours and there isn t a single moment

This is to bring it back to the modern day, as if to touch down on where it is based on our history
timeline. Throughout the film Spielberg has also chosen to highlight a symbol of hope, we see
this symbol in red as if it is in relation to the blood shed throughout this horrible time. As
Schindler s List was filmed in black and white, to insert this coloured symbol they had to go in
post film and highlight it which meant that not every single frame was perfectly coloured. I
personally believe this was the right decision, and an effective one at that, as it gives the symbol
more of an aura instead of being simply coloured. It stops being just an item and truly becomes a
symbol that represents the film even in today s society. When I see this symbol I am able to
identify where it is from and recognise its meaning. Spielberg has had to be successful when
creating this symbol so that the story he has created can live on in generations to

The Reign Of The King
From the reign of King John beginning in 1199 to the reign of Edward III ending in 1377, the
role of kingship is slowly put in to question. Throughout this time period kings find that they now
need to consult with a council in order rule successfully. This time period begins with an
absolute monarchy, but the authority of the king is gradually limited. These changes slowly
grow thought this time period while the authority of parliament increases. This time period also
calls into question how the king is viewed, whether as a person or as an office. This essay will
trace the political authority of the king and his growing limitations. Additionally, it will discuss
the birth of parliament and its increase in political power not only as a whole, but also in
relationship to the power of the king. It is within the reign of King John, where limitation of the
king s power is called into play. These limitations will set the stage for the eventual formation of
parliament and a lessening of the king s influence that future kings cannot ignore. However, with
John, as opposed to these future kings, the changes are relatively ineffective, but will set incoming
limitation to the king s power in motion. These events are triggered when war breaks out in
France as of 1202 when the French King gives John s titles to Arthur, Duke of Brittany. John
achieves a victory at Mirebeau, but as of 1204, he loses much of the northern empire. In 1214, after

Tuskegee Case Study Summary
In 1932, the Tuskegee Institute partnered with the Public Health Service in Alabama and began a
research study on how certain infectious diseases spread through the population. They also studied
what those diseases did inside the human body to cause them to pass away. Their study focused on
400 black men affected with Syphilis in a southern Alabama county. Out of which, no subjects were
told of their condition. What this withhold of important information is a major violation by the
International Review Board (IRB) standards. As a result of this omission of information, syphilis
continued to spread through and fatally endanger the families and community that surrounded the
400 subjects. Those experiments on the illnesses of humansubjects had many violations in the IRB

Stephen Jay Gould And Friedrich Nietzsche
Religion Verses Nature If God is good and if creation reveals his goodness, why do nature s
victims suffer? Is God dead? These are the questions that the two essays from Stephen Jay Gould
and Friedrich Nietzsche ask and attempt to answer. Stephen Jay Gould was a well known
professor of geology, zoology and curator of invertebrate paleontology in the Museum of
Comparative Zoology at Harvard University. Gould feels that animals are too complex to be
compared to humans and deciding what is good and evil. Friedrich Nietzsche was one of the most
influential German philosophers. Nietzsche feels as though Godis dead and the commitment to
religionis contradicting instincts of nature. In Stephen Jay Gould s essay Nonmoral Nature he feels
that humanbeings should not be compared to animals when it comes to morality. Charles Darwin
was an English naturalist trained as a minister, which Stephen Jay Gould mentions in his teachings.
Charles Darwin famously known for his theory of branching pattern of evolution did not see
conflict between his theories and religious beliefs. Gould feels that just like Darwin humans should
separate that of scientific fact from religious beliefs and morals. (Gould 636) Theologians in the
nineteenth century would disagree with Stephen Gould but that is only because their thought
process was different. Nineteenth century theologians anthropomorphized such predators which
made them look evil as if they were human beings acting out brutality, when in

Absolute Monarchy vs Constitutional Monarchy
The difference between absolute monarchy and constitutional monarchy is that in the absolute
monarchy, the monarch holds the supreme or absolute powers, whereas in the constitutional
monarchy, the head of state is a hereditary or elected monarch.
The law within a constitutional monarchy might be different from the law within an absolute
monarchy. Differences between absolute and constitutional monarchies emerged during the
sixteenth and seventeenth centuries when many European countries experimented with absolutism
and constitutional monarchies.
Absolute monarchy is also called undemocratic monarchy and constitutional monarchy is also

acts as a dictator or head of the state.
2. Constitutional monarchy or liberal monarchy gives limited powers to the monarch as in the
monarchy of England.
3. In the constitutional monarchy, the prime minister of the state holds the maximum powers and

leaders.

Summary Of Rachel Goodnight
Rachel said goodnight to her father then headed to bed. Little did she know that would be the last
time she spoke to him. It seemed just like any morning in the Smith household to Rachel. She got
out of bed, and she began getting ready for school. In the middle of her daily routine, she suddenly
realized it seemed unusually quiet at home, so she went downstairs in search of her parents. There
is no one in sight. She went to her parents bedroom to only find her mothersleeping in her bed.
This is no surprise to Rachel because her parents had got under each other s skin more than usual
these last couple days. She did not think anything of it; she figured he would be back later that
night. Once Rachel returned home from school, her dad is still not home. Days, weeks, even
months had passed, and Rachel still had not seen her father since that day. Unfortunately, many
families face this same problem of not having a father figure in their life at some point. To some
children, they do not know of a time where they ever had a father or even who he is. Even though
sometimes having a father in a familyis overlooked, they actually have a considerable effect on their
daughter s lives, such as self confidence, career options, academic achievements, and their
relationships.
One of the impacts a father has on his daughter is their self confidence. Some teenagers today
struggle with self image and confidence, and society does not help it either. Society is constantly

The 1905 Act
Indigenous Australians developed trust issues during colonisation. When the settlers invaded, life
would never be the same for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people. Land that had been theirs
for roughly 40,000 years was stripped from the Indigenous Australians and all rights were taken
away. Most settlers were extremely racist and wanted the Indigenous Australiansgone. One settler
from Hunter Valley went as far as comparing the Aborigines to apes (Wilson Miller, 2011). The
1905 Act in Western Australia
was then drawn up to provide the Aborigines care and protection. The
1905 Act with its long list of rules and regulations did everything but provide care and protection.
Aborigines were carefully watched and everything they did was monitored.

Use of Language in Immigration
USE OF LANGUAGE IN IMMIGRATION RHETORIC
1.0 Introduction
American society has developed as a result of continued waves of immigration. It therefore seems
logical that Americans should have positive attitudes towards immigration. Immigration allows for
sharing of ideas and cultures within society. However, in recent years, the trend of undocumented
immigration has taken an effect on the economic and social development of American society.
During the debates in the fun up to the 2013 elections, the democrat and republican candidates are
finding themselves locked over divisive opinions on the issue. This paper discusses the effects of
language in immigration rhetoric on the perception held by people about immigration. Different
words presented to the public in different ways (positive or negative) imply their own meanings.
2.0 Stereotyping and Negative Attitudes about Immigrants
The use of language with reference to this phenomenon has potential for influencing social attitudes
towards immigrants and is therefore being discussed on the media. According to Bennion, the use
of the term alien is the acceptable way to describe foreigners who have entered the United States
without proper documentation. The use of terms like illegal immigrants or undocumented
immigrants is erroneous because it acknowledges their status as immigrants. In addition, the use of
terms such as illegal is also better avoided. Such terms are loaded with negativity and are likely to
build negative

Virtuoso Comparison Essay
At the time when people s moral codes are slackening, a community is in need of spiritual
guidance more than ever. That was why Virtuoso was founded in the first place. Just like all other
religions, Virtuoso is against violence and embraces humanity at its heart. Nevertheless, there are
major similarities and differences that are also need to be addressed. Virtuoso, by definition, is a
practice of faith that focuses on spiritual growth and harmony with nature. It shares the same
monotheistic structure with Hinduism, where there s only 1 all powerful God(Brahmin) that results
in a plurality of forms, also known as the deities . In Virtuoso, Mother Nature is the center of
worship, and she comes in 4 distinct forms: Ignis (Fire), Aqua (Water), Aer (Air) and Terra (Earth).
Each deity is a gender neutral divine being that symbolizes Willpower, Wisdom, Love, and
Integrity, respectively. Despite having different systems of beliefs (2), Children of Virtues and
Buddhists still have 1 thing held in common. They both put emphasis on spiritual growth and
certain aspects of kindness throughout their preaching especially on generosity and giving up on
material possessions. In fact, this is clearly demonstrated by the rule that each Child of Virtue
would need to submit 20% of their annual income to the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of them is the perception of science. The contrary between Science and Religion seems

everything with an opened mindset. Hence, instead of discriminating it (like what a lot of
Christians have done to Charles Darwin s Theory of Evolution), we choose to treat Science as
another practice of faith that is completely irrelevant to

The standard cremation ceremony begins with the ritual cleansing, dressing and adorning of the
body. The body is then carried to the cremation ground as prayers are chanted to Yama, invoking his
aid.
It is usually the chief mourner and the eldest son who perform the Agni or fire ceremony. He
circumambulates the pyre counterclockwise for everything is backward at the time of death and
lights the pyre. The death now is an offering to Agni. After burning the corpse the chief mourner
cracks the skull with a bamboo , thus releasing the soul from entrapment in the body. After
cremation a thirteen day ritual is done for the safety of the soul till it reaches heaven. Family
read a holy book called Bhagwat Geeta every afternoon for the deceased person. .Twelve hours
after the cremation, the ashes are thrown into a river, ideally the Ganges river, and the mourners
walk away without looking back. On the 3rd, 5th, 7th or 9th day, relatives gather for a meal of
the deceased s favorite foods. A portion is offered before his photo and later ceremonially left at
an abandoned place, along with some lit camphor. On the 31st day, a memorial service is held. In
some traditions it is a repetition of the funeral rites. At home, all thoroughly clean the house. the

The Policy Language Of Clipper Mill Fed
Accordingly, since Clendenin Bros., the policy language has been broadened seemingly in
response to Clendenin Bros. and similar cases to include not only environmental pollution, but
also, substances that are harmful or toxic to persons [or] property. The significance of this
distinction was recognized in Clipper Mill Fed., LLC v. Cincinnati Ins. Co, 2010 U.S. Dist. LEXIS
112172 (D.Md. 2010), where a landlord/insured alleged that damages caused by [t]oxic and
dangerous airborne pollutants attributable to a malfunctioning HVAC unit gave rise to a claim
against the insured by a tenant. Id. at 3. In that case, although the pollutionat issue was not
environmental, the District of Maryland observed that:
The policy in the present case contains an important distinction from that involved in Clendenin

Current State Of New Zealand And The United States Of...
Over the last thirty years the economic rise of China has contributed to a worldwide shift in
power. Discussing the current state of New Zealand s relationship with both China and the United
States of America (USA), this essay will outline likely future foreign policy choices. Authors such
as Mosher and Krauthammer see the rise of China as a threat to the West that must be contained, a
view which is not widely accepted. With reference to New Zealand s recent economic and strategic
success this essay will suggest that future foreign policymust work to deepen relations with both
countries. New Zealand must not choose between China nor the USA, instead a broad based
approach to trade and international relationsshould be maintained.
In 2008 New Zealand was the first of the Organisation for Economic Co operation and
Development countries to sign a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with China. As a result China has
overtaken the USA as our second largest trading partner, with exports increasing from NZ$2.3
billion in 2008 to NZ$6.7 billion in 2012. In 2010 New Zealand set the goal of doubling two way
trade with China by 2015, a goal which was achieved a full year earlier. Speaking to the New

lifespan of about half a century (Editors Ch. 9). As an offering to their sun god, Helios, the
Rhodians had the Colossus built so that they would forever remember winning the war against
Antigous, who sent his son Demetrius, and an army of forty thousand men, to punish the
Rhodians for supporting Ptolemy ( The Colossus of Rhodes ). The great structure was placed on
the Island of Rhodes, which was located off the southwestern tip of Asia Minor where the
Aegean Sea meets the Mediterranean (Krystek Colossus... 1). The sculptor, Charles of Lindus,
took twelve years to complete the statue, finishing it about 280 BC ( Colossus C 481a). The
statue was one hundred and ten feet high and stood upon a fifty foot pedestal near the harbor
mole ( Colossus of Rhodes 1). From the war machines that Demetrius left behind, bronze was
melted down for the exterior, while the framework was composed of iron ( Colossus of Rhodes
1). Around 226 BC an earthquake hit the Island of Rhodes and the statue fell into the sea leaving
only the some of the base intact (Krystek Colossus... 1). In the seventh century AD the Arabs
conquered Rhodes and broke the remains of the Colossus up into smaller pieces and sold it as scrap
metal ( Colossus of Rhodes

Essay On Speech Language Pathology
How often do purpose, passion, and profession come together? Pursing an advanced degree in
Speech Language Pathology would consummate my plans of positively impacting the lives of
others throughout the world. I have encountered many personal influences that have shaped my
perspective; these influences have also driven me to perform excellence on a graduate level. In my
profession, my aspiration is to improve the quality of someone s life. My recent experiences
involve volunteer work, research, clinical observations, internships and student leadership positions.
I was recently granted the opportunity to present at the N.S.S.B. in Atlanta, Georgia. The research
topic on which I will be presenting is en titled Obama s Race to the Top Education Reform.

Not only do I desire to obtain a career in multiple disciplines in the field of speech language
pathology, but I also plan to create a vocation of my own. My goal is to create my own series of
activity books as well as own my own private practice. Also, I have a specific interest in voice
and fluency in the adult population, and would love to work in that field as well. In my three
years of college, the aspects of speech have become especially intriguing to me, not only because
of in class interests, but out of class interests. As the president and member of the North Carolina
Agricultural and Technical State University Fellowship Gospel Choir, I love to sing, and I find a
interesting connection between speech and singing that simply amazes me. Lastly, I hope to gain
clinical experience, obtain my doctoral degree, and seek employment at a University to impact the

The Management Paradigm
Infusion of Technology into the Management Paradigm
We are now seeing the use of technology applications for disease self management and patient
empowerment yielding the potential to improve the overall state of a person s health care. When
these apps are also coupled with telehealth interventions, a unique opportunity is created that
enables proactive interventions to improve compliance with medications, as well as shared decision
making by both patients and clinicians core principles to support best practice models in managing
these chronic respiratory disease states (9 11). For example, patient generated data from mobile
apps can be directly transmitted to a patient s team of clinicians (for example, a medical home)

Another venue gaining ground in the treatment and monitoring of respiratory disease states is home
telemonitoring. Telemonitoring appears to be a promising patient management approach, able to
produce accurate and reliable data. In addition, this technology empowers patients by influencing
their behavior to adopt strategies that improve their health condition. The technology can be used to
coach patients to comply with their regimens and prevent disease exacerbation, and intervene early
with appropriate measures to prevent utilization of resources such as the ER. By facilitating self
management practices and incorporating appropriate case management, home telemonitoring can
reduce the use of emergency care and unplanned hospital admissions/readmissions

representation, who would be the first person to split the atom to create new matter. MacPherson
tells the stories of the trial and tribulations, pressures, and successes of the two main people in this
scientific race: Enrico Fermi and Werner Heisenberg.
This race began in the summer of 1939, Fermi and Heisenberg the main pupils in this biography
both shared colleges but they were never friends themselves. However it was not surprising that
they would be the lead competitors in the race. Infact Femi challenged Heisenberg about his return
in Germany. This is because many researchers were aware that atomic physicist would be expected
by their governments to work on the research involving new weapons. Heisenberg although directly
challenged had no full intention in competing he had hopes that the war would never happen, and
that these new weapons would never be needed. He although could not do anything to prevent the
calamity, he knew he had to respect his appointed position within the government. He had to
represent his country in this race. But in a matter of small changes in the personal lives of Fermi
and Heisenberg their intentions changed and their roles in society were revised. Fermi and
Heisenberg both encountered different paths when confronted with fascism. Fermi, who suffered

Trauma In The Sorrow Of War
Specifically in American soldiers, Almost 31 percent of Vietnam veterans [...] have been affected
by PTSD ( PTSD ). This means many soldiers have gone through a traumatic experience during
their time of war. Merriam Webster defines trauma as A disordered psychic or behavioral state
resulting from severe mental or emotional stress or physical injury ( Trauma ). Kathleen M. O
Connor, a professor at Columbia Theological Seminary, states, Trauma Theory refers to a loose,
interdisciplinary conversation that investigates the lingering consequences of violence upon
individuals and communities (O Connor). The Sorrow of War by Bao Ninh can be analyzed
through a Trauma lens by asking what the causes and effects are of trauma, and if there are any
signs of addiction to trauma. Kien, the main character of the novel, goes through many grim events
that ultimately lead him to develop certain defense mechanisms and a type of addiction.
Trauma Theory reveals that Kien s sorrow is derived from the Vietnamwar and events that
happened because of it. Maja Milatovic, a course coordinator at ANU college in Australia, states
that Trauma Theory has [...] connections to wider socio political frames such as survivor
narratives (Milatovic). The Sorrow of War can be read as a survivor narrative because Of the entire

is also known as Marilyn Monroe. When you ask someone if they know who the icon Marilyn
Monroe is, there is a large percentage that people that have heard of her. Marilyn Monroeis one of
the most iconic people in Hollywood and in history. Norma Mortensen was born in 1926 in Los

We can understand why she became this well known person if she did not have support or a
normal childhood. There are seven major perspectives that can help us understand someone s
life and their outcomes. I personally believe that with Marilyn Monroe s life, Psychodynamic
Perspective is a way someone can understand how things went. It explains how the roles of
someone s life experiences, like childhood, can affect the rest of their life. As I said before, she
did not have a typical childhood. She had a rough life before the age of 16. Not having a steady
home to grow up in could make it hard on a person, especially a child. Those are the years we
develop most as humans, and create a foundation on how our lives may become. With her life, it
could cause a sense of misplacement or even change her views of affection. This could alter the
way someone views affection and what they think is normal compared to others. In Monroe s
life, she was abandoned from any reality or normalcy in her life. She did not get that affection
and that is an important part of life. She then had three marriages that did not last that long, and
that shows that even when she did try to have a normal life and find that true love, it just did not
work well for her. This could be one of many reasons why she turned to alcoholism or

Managing Investment Growth Of A Diversified Portfolio
Managing Investment Growth In order to maximize a portfolio s return, it is important to analyze
risk and diversify securities, while adhering to the goals of an investor. Through analyzing the
different classes of risk, one can match investments to an investor s risk tolerance and return
requirements. Even though some investments may present greater riskthey are countered by a
higher rate of return and vice versa, less risk corresponds to a lower return. Moreover, investment
risk can be substantially reduced through diversification, which spreads a portfolio across different
industries, businesses and investment options. The makeup of a diversified portfolio continually
changes based on an investor s time horizon and investment goals. In accordance with the Modern
Portfolio Theory(MPT), one can maximize return while reducing risk, through assessing
investments standard deviation and beta. When applied to the capital asset pricing model(CAPM) an
investor can determine what the expected rate of return should be and if the risk is worth it.
Therefore, by analyzing risk and diversifying investments one can maximize an investment growth,
increasing a portfolios return.
Investment Risk Investment risk assesses the overall level of uncertainty or volatility associated
with an investments potential returns. As a result, investment risk helps determine the likelihood of
receiving an increased or decreased amount of the expected return on an investment. While risk is

Attachment Bond Psychology
What is an attachment bond? An attachment bond is the unique emotional relationship between
your baby and you as his or her primary caretaker (Robinson). Dogs have been seen as to being
the most loyal to their owners since they have a bond that goes back for generations. Before
dogs were kept as pets, they were wolves and it has been confirmed that dogs still actively carry
the wolves traits in all areas that allow them to bond with families. Wolves are known for being
territorial, hunting cooperatively, and becoming emotionally bonded with their owner and when
seeing them after a long period of time are filled with excitement and passion. By being part of the

Dogs reacted the same way an infant or a chimpanzee would react without their mother and for a
dog was its owner. By doing the experiment on dogs and their owners, experimenters were able to
conclude that dogs were emotionally attached to their owners. Therefore, we can conclude since
the results are of those like infants, babies form an emotional bond with their caretaker which
eventually turns into an attachment bond with their loved one. Babies tend to cry while dogs
scratch the door and whine wanting their loved one or owner. Identifying dog behavior helps us
identify our own abilities and experiences that affect our behavior. We can utilize the test done
upon the dogs to advance the transition of an emotional bond to an attachment bond as the infant
grows. The test however concluded that it was separation anxiety that caused the whining and the
scratching on the door. What about the baby? The information and results that came from the
experiment can help us advance upon the baby and their feelings towards the mother. Dogs tend
to act like people but do they think and act like a human? They have the characteristics of acting
like a human because their owners have instilled their values into their upbringing. Just like an
infant, the early stages are the most important to lay the foundation that will pave the way for the
rest of their lives. As for a dog, the way we treat and teach them, they will act, there is no breed
that is born aggressive, the dog is dependant on the upbringing of the owner. Infants still have the

Nuclear Bombs Should Be Banned

go into the wrong hands. China and India a No first use were they won t use their atomic bomb

federation is under a threat. Israel said that they don t have a nuclear weapon. None of the countries
want to be the first to use their atomic bomb. Some of the scientists that helped with the atomic
bomb told the US and other countries told them that the atomic bomb was going to be bad in the
first place. I agree that we shouldn t have atomic bombs Because well there are a lot of reasons
but one is one of the bombs could get into the wrong hands and they could have someone help

Compare And Contrast Direct Democracy Vs Representative...
Representative Democracy is better for the United States than a Direct Democracy.
Democracies are based on the citizen s ability to judge things such as laws, propositions, bonds,
budgets, representatives, and candidates. The type of democracy helps determine what the citizens
are judging. In a direct democracy citizens would be judging the candidates and issues themselves
and in a representative democracy, the citizens are judging the representatives and their ability to
stay true to the citizens wants and needs. The founding fathers were so sure in their decision to
make a representative democracy that they deliberately made ratifying the constitution very
difficult. It takes a very large majority of Senate and the House to get a proposal sent to the
people for a vote that would make the change and then the people have to approve the change with
at least 75% voting in favor in order to ratify the constitution. There are many reasons why a direct

Everyone has to be willing to do their share far beyond the polling place on Election Day.
Citizens must work together to develop proposals for laws and policies in order to put them out to

especially from the new Me generation.
The current generation of young voters feel that the old way of doing things is out dated. They
feel that Representative democracy was needed when remote constituents could not be consulted.
With the internet the public can now decide directly on all major issues. The representative
system is outdated, and it is ready to be replaced by true democracy. (Citation #2) Even in this
modern day and age with such great access to information, many believe that their vote is not
enough to make a difference so why bother to vote or even read the information available to

Descriptive Techniques In Gulliver
... blah blah blah. You go on for another two pages about Gulliver finding himself being tied
down by small people. I accomplished the same basic concept in 4 sentences. Your length does
not show that you are any more complex than me, but are just more verbose in your descriptions.
My plot is at least interesting and to the point. Swift: To the point? You are merely an
oversimplified writer. You pack your plot full of action, not sustenance. You barely give the
reader time to ponder upon one subject before you hit them with the next. Voltaire: That is the
whole purpose of my technique! By making the plot fast paced with a quick shift of scenes the
reader is easily guided toward the issue I want to emphasize. This saves them the boredom of all
the little and useless details. It may seem oversimplified, but it gets the job done. Swift: My
descriptive style gets the job done just fine and paints a picture for the reader that they otherwise
may not have seen. This not only guides them to an issue more gradually but gives the reader time
to think and develop their opinions compared to the beliefs being thrown directly at them without
time to think in between. Voltaire: Your book may have more words than mine, but it is so overly
drawn out and descriptive that people miss the points and have made it into a children s story.
Nowadays, people have to read the footnotes to understand the point you were trying to get across.
Even then, it takes them far too long to discover the

Existence of a Valid Contract
2.Breach of the Contract s Terms
3.Damages for Breach of Contract
If, and only if, these elements are met, the plaintiff, in this case Ms. Lee, can effectively argue
her case and potentially win this case. Conversely, if Disney is able to prove that her accusations
fall short of the requirements for a breach of contract suit, Disney will be able to successfully
defend against the suit. The element of breach of contract that falls into issue in this case is
whether or not there was an actual breach of the contract s terms. Under Ms. Lee s claim of
breach of contract, her argument revolves around the ambiguity of the text within the contract. In
her defense, she claims that sales of videocassettes were authorized by the 1952 contract. Her
contract stated the sale of phonographic recordings and/or transcriptions for sale to the public, but
lacked the specificity of the term videocassettes. Ms. Lee s claim is that she was not paid what
was entitled to her; the profits accrued from the sales of video cassettes. If video cassettes are to be
understood as transcriptions, her argument holds a valid case. In contrast, under Disney s defense
to the breach of contract, they base their argument on another factor. Under their customs and usage
provision of this contract, Disney interpreted the sales of videocassettes as any other technology to
be invented. Although videocassettes were

Analysis Of Rainbow s End And Jane Harrison s Rainbows End
As a result of discovery, individuals are opened to the opportunity to transform and in doing so,
renew perceptions of themselves and those around them. In having renewed perceptions,
individuals are automatically exposed to new experiences and perspectives, and as a result
undergo personal growth. Change is an aspect of discovery that is enabled by past experiences
and in this, transformation is achieved. Through Jane Harrison s Rainbow s End, a 1950 s play
about three generations of an Aboriginal family, and Gwen Harwood s Father and Child, a poem
exploring the transformation of a child we are able to explore the way change is inflicted through
experiences of discovery and the responses we find as a result of this. Maturation and... Show more

Feelings of sadness and sympathy towards Dolly and the situation she is in. Individuals may
feel a sense of loss, where they are encouraged to rediscover something about themselves and
essentially, gain a new understanding of themselves and those around them. Through the sexual
assault scene, we establish that Dolly has lost all the innocence she once endured. As a result of
this loss, she matures and transforms into who she becomes. This is shown through Harrison s
use of symbolism. When Dolly s clothes are stripped off her, this shows essentially the stripping
away of her innocence. From this we see that she is no longer a young girl, but a woman. We see
this in the the way she defies Jungi. Through Dolly s discovery and transformation, her emotional
state is threatened, thus causing her ultimate change. This concept of Dolly s loss of innocence
transforming into a growth of maturity implies that growth is compulsory as a result of a loss or
significant event in an individual s life. Some discoveries may be the result of significant
experiences that one undergoes. In moving on from these experiences, the discoveries can be
provoked and have the ability to open the eyes of individuals. Gwen Harwood s Father and Child
explores the growth and maturation of a child. Harwood shows the juxtaposition between innocence
and maturity and the way that discovering this deepens the perception one has of the world. The

  • 2. The Twenty Thousand Dollar Death There are numerous reasons that might have caused Willy Loman to end his life. In Arthur Miller s play, Death of a Salesman, Loman is in conflict with his son, Biff Loman, his job as a salesman, and himself. In the play Loman s job as a salesman no longer became beneficial to him and his family. As time passed by, new ideas and younger salesmen began to take over the salesman industry, and Loman was left behind. His wife, Linda, and he discuss all of the bills that have to be paid by the end of the month, including their house payment. However, since Loman was taken off salary and is only on commission, he is only bringing home seventy dollars a week. Loman s concern about their financial status is displayed when he says to his wife Linda, A hundred and twenty dollars! My God, if business don t pick up I don t know what I m gonna do (Miller 1490). Unfortunately, Loman and his wife Linda have no support from their sons, Biff and Happy, since neither of them have a career. In addition to not having a career, their relationship towards each other was not secure due to Loman s unfaithfulness. Several years back into Loman s daily flashbacks, Biff found his dad with another woman in a hotel during a trip in Boston. For all his life, Biff thought of his dad as a hero until he was proved wrong the night at the hotel. Everything and everyone changed after that night. Biff gave up football and referred to his dad as a, phony little fake (1542). Although, Biff and Loman ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Their laws are called the Laws of God , which are interpreted from the Quran. The Laws of God also known as the Sharia laws, these laws have abundant control on Saudi Arabian women, Muslim citizens, and Non Muslim expats. Women of Saudi Arabiahave limited rights based on their Islamic beliefs, but are gradually making progress to uplifting some restrictions. Muslim citizens, both men and women have rigorous rules to follow, based on religious interpretation of the Quran. Furthermore, Non Muslim citizens are stripped of their rights to Freedom of Religion, which makes it very difficult to express your own spiritual beliefs. Saudi Arabian women have numerous restrictions that must be followed. For example, driving is believed to jeopardize social principles. • 6. Religious Freedom And Separation Of Church And State Essay After many frustrations and disputes arising out of the Commonwealth of Virginia, the termination of Bill Establishing A Provision for Teachers of Christian Religion and the new Virginia Statue for Religious Freedom mark a necessary and significant turn. The people of Virginia can finally savor the religious freedom that they longed for. I shall hereby applaud the efforts pushed forth by the honorable James Madison, Thomas Jefferson and so many others who shared the common stance on religious freedom and separation of church and state. However, the achievement seemed provincial when placed in the context of the larger United States. The new nation is at great stake because the congregational church in Massachusetts disallows and persecutes any deviation from its core religious interpretation; Jews are perceived as the enemies of the Christ by a large group of people; and the Catholic minority in many states still suffers. Therefore, absolute religious freedom and the separation of church and state shall be guaranteed in the new constitution in order to maintain the supremacy of Godover the state and purity of the God we trust, annihilate the violence, persecution and tyrannies the God disdains, uphold the God given natural rights we once fought for and construct this blessed new nation to be free and prosperous. God is the divine creator of the universe whereas civil laws are the derivative of humankind. In other words, Christian Religion pre existed any form of state or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Road Corridor As An Important Area For Future... In 2006, The City of East Lansing referred to The Trowbridge Road Corridor as an important area for future redevelopment in their Big Picture Comprehensive Plan. Being a main route to East Lansing and Michigan State University it allows high visibility and access to and from the surrounding neighborhoods. In order to encourage future development in this area, most of the properties along that corridor needed to be redeveloped. Review for this project began in 2007. Due to the original design for the car oriented area, the corridor and the surrounding land did not perfectly complement each other. The addition of numerous curb cuts and disjointed interior vehicle connections increased the dysfunction between cars and pedestrians. Pedestrian safety, highway and train noise, conditions of the parking lot, heavy pass through traffic, depth of the parcels south of Trowbridge, and lack of marketing focus are a few of the preexisting weaknesses of the site. River Caddis Developing is the firm responsible for the development of the Trowbridge Village. River Caddis development has acquired developed and/or redeveloped around two hundred million dollars of multifamily and commercial assets in states throughout the country (McGraw, 2015). This project alone reached close to 17 million dollars. Trowbridge Village offers students unique and new places to shop and dine in the convenience of their backyard. In line 338 9 the Franklin is described as: For he was Epicurus very son, That held opinion that plain and pure delight... meaning that his goal in life was to pleasure or to live in the moment. The Franklin s house was never short of food such as fish or pies. These lines also describe him as: Saint Julian he was in his own country (l. 342) Saint Julian was the patron saint of hospitality meaning that Chaucer is stating that the Franklin is a generous and kind man. One could also conclude that he was an alcoholic, but besides that is a overall good citizen. However, he was broken one of the seven deadly sinswhich is being gluttoned. In the prologue of his tale, the Franklin gives a disclaimer that he is a simple man and does not know the rhetoric. Franklin states that he I slept never on the Mount of Parnassus, Nor learned Marcus Tullius Cicero (l. 721 2). During our visit, we toured the facility and were privileged to have an employee inform us on the grand diversity of the species found in our region. Throughout the tour, we observed and discussed a variety of animals, however in this paper I decided to focus on five: The first species we encountered during our tour was a bobcat or Lynx rufus. The bobcat s phylum is chordata and from the class mammalia. It belongs to the order carnivora, which consists of meat eating organisms. The bobcat then falls under the family, felidae commonly referred to as the family of cats. Found all throughout North America, from southern Canada to central Mexico, the bobcats can live in habitats like mountain ranges, prairies, and deserts. These habitats are favorable to bobcats because they can camouflage with their environment and have more success as hunters. Bobcats are known for their brown reddish coat with black spots and a few stripes. Apart from their coat which allows them to camouflage, bobcats are also efficient hunters because of their speed and intelligence. When approaching its prey, a bobcats tends to creep on its victim and attack once it is close enough. Using its sharp teeth, claws, and strength, this wildcat can kill prey much larger than its size. • 14. Legalization Of Marijuan Recreational And Medicinal Purposes Marijuana: Recreational to Cultural to Medicinal Purpose and Legalization Kalpana Sapkota Northwestern Oklahoma State University Abstract This paper provides detailed information about the controversial topic that is the legalization of marijuana. Different articles proved that legal status of marijuana has been debated vigorously and will continue to be a heated debate for years to come. Marijuana has its negative effect but it can be used for recreational, cultural and medicinal purposes. Different people have different views regarding legalization of marijuana, but the most significant argument against legalization is that governmental approval of marijuana as a prescription drug would send the wrong message to the general population and would cause more extensive recreational use of this drug. The appropriate government response to the negative effects is to fight them directly b stopping the illegal practitioners from doing them (Barnes, 2000, p.29). Legalization of marijuana does not force people to use it but it is a personal choice to have it or not. Marijuana has its positive and negative effects, but the government should make plan to increase the positive effect and to eliminate the negative effect. Discussing the Federal Reserve After reading the article, The Influence of Economists on the Federal Reserve Act, it is apparent the author is trying to suggest that the economists played a major role in the banking reform which led to the development of the Federal Reserve Act. During the late 1800 s and early 1900 s, issues regarding the framework for which the bankoperates on was inconsistent and did not perform as projected in foreseeable emergency situations. For this reason, economists developed strategies and offered a plan that would deter the U.S. from the current sub tier banking system currently in place into a more reliable centralized banking system. The author gives evidence to this by including an array of economists... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With copious amounts of supporting details, the author s point of view may be one that focuses on economists in relation to the Federal Reserve Act and less on political agendas. The economists were the ones responsible for providing research and acknowledging different solutions to the crisis of 1907. The author depicts economists in the article as direct advisors and policy makers which gives the reader a better understanding of their roles in which they were perceived by the Senate and Congress (Caporal, 2003). These were individuals that strived for excellence and would go to great means to make an impact in the economy that would alter the banking system forever. Whether a reader agrees or disagrees with how the centralized banking system was created, the foundation for which it was built off of has continued to grow over a century with key fundamentals still in place today. The author s implications demonstrate that an economists, the intellectuals, were responsible for the banking reform that led to a structured banking system. Could this all have been possible without the influence of the economists? In my opinion, the author has provided enough evidence that would allow the reader to properly analyze and have confidence in the integrity of the article. The conclusion of the article signifies the influence the economist s had on the Federal Reserve Act and the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The cases discussed below seem to agree on the four main elements of malicious prosecution: (1) termination of earlier suit in the plaintiff s favor, (2) lack of probable cause for the suit, (3) malice on the defendant s part, and (4) special injury flowing from the earlier suit. Frey v. Stoneman, 722 P. 2d 274, 277 (Ariz. 1986); Young v. Motor City Apartments, 133 Mich. App. 671, 675, 350 N.W.2d 790, 792 (1984). Elements (2) and (3) are satisfied in our client s case: the earlier suit lacked probable cause; and the suit was presumably malicious because the lienholder s only motive was to put her out of business. • 18. Machiavelli and the Use of Antiquity in The Prince and The... Machiavelli and the Use of Antiquity in The Prince and The Discourses The Renaissance was a time of classical revival and a turning point from the Middle Ages to the Early Modern period in the course of history. Ancient texts and artifacts became sources of inspiration for intellectuals and artists alike, and the desire to emulate or even surpass the achievements of the past prompted them to study antiquities closely and saw them as models and guidance. People were consciously distinguishing themselves from the medieval thoughts and using history to make something new for their own era. In the field of political philosophy there s no exception. Niccolo Machiavelli is perhaps the most representative and groundbreaking figure of this trend in political philosophy. With his erudition in ancient literature, histories and political thoughts, Machiavelli draws various sources from antiquity to critic and response to the political environment of histime. While one may find seemingly discrepancies in The Prince and The Discourse on the First Ten Books of Tius Livy, the use of histories as guide to demonstrate or propose ideal rules is apparent in both works. We should note that synthesizing ancient philosophy or thoughts with contemporary thoughts is nothing new. Thomas Aquinas, for example, reconciled Aristotelianism and Christianity in his work Summa Theologica, using ancient antiquity to back up his Christian beliefs. What is the role of professional counselors? The role of a professional counselor is to make quick assessment and devise a brief effective treatment strategy (Lassiter and Bardos, 1995). Professional counselors use a number of tools to asses intelligence or IQ like, Stanford Binet Intelligence scale (SB5), Wechsler Adult Intelligence scale(WAIS), Otis Lennon school ability tests etc... The Slosson Intelligence test is one of the above described tools that professional counselors use to efficiently obtain cognitive information about children ages 2 through 7 (Erford Pauletta 2005, P. 130). However, the definition of health has changed in the past century to include a wider view of outcomes which includes freedom from disease, ability to perform daily activities, happiness, social and emotional well being, and quality of life. The World Health Organization (WHO) has defined health as physical, mental, and social well being, and not merely the absence of disease and infirmity (3). As a result numerous measures have been developed in an attempt to quantify health. Health outcome measures are tools used to evaluate an individuals health using different health related parameters. Patient Reported Outcomes Measures (PROMs) are instruments that are completed by patients and capture one or more aspects of health (4, 5). The use of PROMs formally to monitor surgical outcomes in England has been an important development (6). Since 2007, the Department of Health has required the routine measurement of patient reported health outcomes for all NHS patients via its PROMs programme (5, 6). • 23. Free Bus Rides Topic: Should the elderly receive free bus rides? My opinion: yes! Free Bus Rides for The Elderly Should the elderly receive free bus rides? This is a controversial issue that many countries are faced with in nowadays. People analyze this problem by taking both pros and cons into consideration. Some people are in favor of the elderly riding bus for free because they have right to benefit the giving back from the society to which they devote most of their lifetime. On the other hand, some disapproval voices emerge in terms of influence of social economy or unequal treatment between the elderly and the others. The reasons why I strongly believe the elderly should receive free bus rides are lacking of finance, preventing traffic accidents, and promoting public transportations. A lack of finance is the first reason that the elderly should receive free bus rides. A majority of elderly is limited in their finance after they got retired; they are sometimes even not able to pay their fundamental living needs such as medicine and groceries. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 12% seniors are living at the poverty level, and their income become lower and lower with increasing age; therefore, they would have difficulty in their constant expenses such as healthcare, housing, food, and so on. About 14.2% of all these expenses are spent on transportation. The National Council on Aging shows as well that the elderly are struggling with housing and health bills, lack of access to ... • 39. Use of Language in Immigration USE OF LANGUAGE IN IMMIGRATION RHETORIC 1.0 Introduction American society has developed as a result of continued waves of immigration. It therefore seems logical that Americans should have positive attitudes towards immigration. Immigration allows for sharing of ideas and cultures within society. However, in recent years, the trend of undocumented immigration has taken an effect on the economic and social development of American society. During the debates in the fun up to the 2013 elections, the democrat and republican candidates are finding themselves locked over divisive opinions on the issue. This paper discusses the effects of language in immigration rhetoric on the perception held by people about immigration. Different words presented to the public in different ways (positive or negative) imply their own meanings. 2.0 Stereotyping and Negative Attitudes about Immigrants The use of language with reference to this phenomenon has potential for influencing social attitudes towards immigrants and is therefore being discussed on the media. According to Bennion, the use of the term alien is the acceptable way to describe foreigners who have entered the United States without proper documentation. The use of terms like illegal immigrants or undocumented immigrants is erroneous because it acknowledges their status as immigrants. In addition, the use of terms such as illegal is also better avoided. Such terms are loaded with negativity and are likely to build negative ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Nevertheless, there are major similarities and differences that are also need to be addressed. Virtuoso, by definition, is a practice of faith that focuses on spiritual growth and harmony with nature. It shares the same monotheistic structure with Hinduism, where there s only 1 all powerful God(Brahmin) that results in a plurality of forms, also known as the deities . In Virtuoso, Mother Nature is the center of worship, and she comes in 4 distinct forms: Ignis (Fire), Aqua (Water), Aer (Air) and Terra (Earth). Each deity is a gender neutral divine being that symbolizes Willpower, Wisdom, Love, and Integrity, respectively. Despite having different systems of beliefs (2), Children of Virtues and Buddhists still have 1 thing held in common.
