When I was in grade 8, I joined the Wascana Racing Canoe Club. Ever since, sprint kayaking has been
a huge aspect of my life. I have attended the 2012 Saskatchewan Summer Games, 2013 Sherbrooke
Canada Summer Games, 2013 Montreal Canadian Canoe Kayak Nationals, 2014 Regina Canadian
Canoe Kayak Nationals, and the 2015 Ottawa Canadian Canoe Kayak Nationals. The picture above is

Zinc is currently the fourth most widely consumed metal in the world after iron, aluminum, and
copper. In nature, zinc ores could be divided into sulphide minerals and oxide minerals. Zinc is
extracted mostly from zinc sulfide ores. With depletion of global resources of zinc sulfides as well as
the restriction on sulfur emissions during their processing, there is an increasing focus on the
processing of the huge reserves of zinc oxide ores (Li et al., 2010).
Thomas and Fray (1981) studied leaching of oxide zinc materials with chlorine and chlorine hydrate.
They found that the rate of leaching of the Adrar Turkish ore could be described using a shrinking core

Since I was working with a single individual, there was not research that really had to be done or
interviews. I did, however, look into Meals on Wheels and brought it to Betty s attention. For Betty, it
was so hard for her to ask her help and she has spoken to me about not wanting to take from others
because she could get by. Instead, I would try and sit with her for about an hour each time I brought
something over and let her take the conversation wherever it may. Most times this included God. I
decided to be open with her about being agnostic and we would have long conversations about how
the church has changed, how it has impacted her life, and how she had spread God s love. Our
conversations reminded me of Jerry and Larry s which allowed for different opinion but a mutual

The Divine Command theory states that an act is morally required just because it is commanded by
God, and immoral just because God forbids it. (Lecture Notes pg. 42, slide #2.) This theory says that
since God has said that it is something we must do to be good, that we must do it. Many religions
believe and live by this saying that it is the will of God or the Gods . I truly believe that God has done
his work and is still at work and since He did create us, He does know what good and evil is and does

A leader has many responsibilities as a role model and caretaker for their people. Facing hard
challenges and knowing how to deal with them is a part of being a great leader all of which are Chief
Powhatan showed. Chief Powhatan whose proper name was Wahunsenacawh, was the superior chief
of Tsenacommacah, an alliance of Algonquian speaking Virginia Indians in the Tidewater region of
Virginia at the time English settlers landed at Jamestown in 1607. In his address to Captain John
Smith Chief Powhatan expresses how he desires peace between the settlers and the Tsenacommacah.
He utilizes distinct rhetorical elements such as rhetorical questions, diction and argumentation to
further support his view on what he desired to occur between his people and the English settlers.
Chief Powhatan begins to address his statement by using rhetorical questions in order to support his
claim of peace. For example in lines 5 through 7 Powhatan says Why should you take by force that
from us which you can have by love? Why should you destroy us who have provided you with food?
What can you get by war? Obviously Powhatan doesn t expect Captain John Smith to answer his
questions but he uses this in order to create a growing tension that drives a questioning mentality
about whether using force is the best method when love is another alternative. He also recounts on
how it is unwise and unethical to break ties with the people who have fed and given shelter to the
settlers. Without them the settlers would be starving and freezing to death turning to barbaric methods
of survival. In line 9, he continues to support his claim by saying what is the cause of this jealousy? ,
this is important because the settlers became envious of how the Tsenacommacah were so well
developed, having shelter, and food. Having these benefits over the settlers Powhatan came to the
conclusion that the settlers would attempt to pilfer all that the Tsenacommacah had acquired. With this
in mind Powhatan decides to express his desire for peace so that neither side would eventually aim for
violence from lines 9 through 15.
Chief Powhatan continues to enhance his argument by using diction to add more emotion and meaning
to the message he is trying to convey.

She does not feel comfortable going and confronting the teacher, but the principle will not do anything
to help her in the dilemma she is in. The teacher s assistant tells herself that she has done what she is

The biggest dilemma that we as humans face in the work place is what we as individuals see as

work place to not just do a job, but to try and work together with people that are different from
ourselves. When we find ourselves in a dilemma that goes against our ethics, one has to ask
themselves, how does this affect my values, and does it affect our values so much that we need to
