Assignment Questions 1. How strong are the competitive forces confronting Deere in the global
market for agricultural and construction equipment? Do a five forces analysis and identify the key
driving forces and key success factors to support your answer. After looking into the Balance sheet

Supplier power. Deere managed to keep its other competitors from driving up the price because of
suppliers pricing by building its own supply channels. In each of its six identified key regions Deere
established manufacturing plants that supported its main production assembly line. For example Deere
built plants across the U.S.A (Iowa, Illinois, North Dakota, Georgia, Louisiana, Missouri and
Wisconsin) each plant designed to manufacture different parts. Also, Internationally Deere is strongly
presented in different regions in the world in important markets like China in support of construction

Advantages Of Tablets In Business
Tablets and Business can be used for Interactive Menus, Hospitals, concierge services and social bar
games. Tablets will be replacing laptops, just like laptop replaced desk top computers. Apple Bee s
restaurant uses the interactive menu, for placing drink orders, appetizers as well as entrees. Hospitals
use tablets for a faster intake process in the emergency room. Five star hotel use concierge services for
hotel guest, so that guest can conveniently make reservation with their favorite restaurant or, Broad

on the tablet are played, such as sports trivia, cards and basketball.

with the laptops on carts or WOWs workstations on wheels or COWs computers on wheels that is

The disadvantages of tablets in business, hardware is prone to damage. Traditional keyboards are
much more comfortable than a tablet. The screen size is too small on a tablet in comparison with a
laptop. Also tablets cannot hold massive amounts of data, tablet s LCD screen is one of the most
expensive parts to replace on a tablet.(n.d.

The Transformation Of Leadership In The Jungle Book By...
To become a leader in any sense one must have certain attributes that exemplify courage, confidence
and humility. It may seem unlikely that a man raised very much by the jungle would be able to
become such a thing, however in The Jungle Book written by Rudyard Kipling, Mowgli managed to
display leadership with the help of numerous mentors along his journey. Mowgli was born in the
human society, but was raised by the jungle, specifically by Baloo and Bagheera. Mowgli is faced
with many adversities such as acceptance problems and identity confusion throughout this text that
forced him to look within himself and find his true potential. Until Baloo and Bagheera took Mowgli
in as their own it appears any chance that Mowgli had of achieving total personal growth as a human
being living in the animal kingdom was nearly impossible. Mowgli s interest in learning from Baloo,
Bagheera and the Humans allowed Mowgli to transcend beyond just being an oblivious human living
in the jungle. Instead Mowgli transformed into a true leader with his own hybrid identity with their
help. Mowgli learned skills about living within the jungle and how to better accept his hybrid identity
with help from Baloo, Bagheer and the Humans during his upbringing. This paper will analyze these
relationships, looking at how they played such a large role in the transformation that Mowgli goes
through within the confines of the text.
Baloo taught Mowgli crucial knowledge about surviving in the jungle,

Why Does Othello Love Desdemona
Description:
Emilia is Iago s wife, and Desdemona s maid and friend. She is a very loyal wife and follows all of her
wifely duties. As the play develops, she builds a strong loyalty to her mistress. At the end of the play,
she stays loyal to her friend Desdemona and stands up against her husband to defend Desdemona s
reputation. She speaks disapprovingly of men, but she still supported her husband when she needs to
because she feels it is her duty and responsibility as a wife. When she released what Iago s plan was
and what he did with the handkerchief she gave him, she abandons her loyalty towards him and finally
speaks the truth. She verbally attacks Iago because she sees the true villain in her husband, in her
response, Iago stabs her and she ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What is it that they do
When they change us for others? Is it sport?
I think it is: and doth affection breed it?
I think it doth. Isn t frailty that thus errs?
It is so too. And have not we affections,
Desires for sport, and frailty, as men have?
Then let them use us well. Else let them know,
The ills we do, their ills instruct us so.]″ (IV.iii.96 115)
Emilia blames the husband in a relationship for driving the women to have an affair with another man.
But I do think it is their husband s faults /If wives do fall... . This shows her relationship with Iago and
how she implies that she would not be unwilling to the idea of an affair. This collaborates with the
rumours about her and Othello having an affair, although she denies the statement.
Emilia came to tell Othello about the attack in the street that killed Roderigo. Othello acknowledges
that he killed Desdemona, telling Emilia about her infidelity. This quotation is her response to Othello:
‟ Thou hast not half that power to do me harm
As I have to be hurt. O gull! O dolt!

Mass Killings And Its Effects On Society
Contemporary society suffers from a wide range of problems nowadays. It is a fact that the human
development comes at the new stage of development, which starts to harm society. Nowadays there is
a considerable increase in gun abuse, violence, murders and thefts, which have a negative impact on
the society. There is no nation in the world, which can be confident in its safety from terrorism and
mass killings. Millions of people are worried about nation s welfare and prosperity regarding the
increasing number of mass killings. It is mandatory to study the essence of mass killings and its
reasons of the nationwide spread. In general, mass killings form a threat to the society not only in the
US, but in the whole world as well. Mass killings have become a problem, which emerged from the
country s level of development and country s internal processes. The nature of mass killings is hard to
predict. According to the statistics, the average age of a murderer is 33.5 years old. Despite this fact,
mass killings involve people of different ages and occupations. There is a vast percent of teenagers,
who commit murders within the walls of the school (Duwe, 2005). It may seem that gun access may
cause gun abuse and violence among residents, which later results in mass killings (Fox, 2013).
However, it is essential to see into the roots of the problem. Community believes that a free access to
gun results in violence and gun abuse. All life facilities have become extremely expensive, and

Urban China Research Paper
Urban China is a beautiful place to live in. For instance, those that live in Urban China have a high
income, a high population, have people that focus on what children do throughout the day, and make
sure that children are provided with an enormous amount of education. I, personally would like to live
in Urban China. The Urban part of China has so much to offer, it is not a big surprise that many people
decide to live there. I would love to live in Urban China, along with the other people that already do.
The first reason why I would like to live in Urban China is because of the high income and the
population. The income that people can make is $4,000. The article Rural Life in China explained,

For instance, from the video Families of China, Yu Qinbo explained that her school has fifteen
hundred students attending the school, which is still relatively new because it was built in 1996. Since
the government takes education into a high consideration, they make sure that everyone is welcome in
the school, that the school is up to date for the students, and that everyone is accommodated. The
government also believes that the education they provide will help with their future. The government
is preparing the students for what is yet to come, which gives Urban China another amazing aspect.
The school day is also extended. From the video Families of China, Yu explained that she wakes up at
six in the morning for school and gets back home at five in the evening. During the lengthy day the
kids have exercise classes and do exercises to rest their eyes twice a day. Having an exercise class and
exercises that rest their eyes is great because they are able to have an elongated day while getting
exercise for their growing bodies and also being able to work for a longer period of time by relaxing
their eyes. Lastly, Urban China has after school activities that the students attend. In the video Yu
attended an English club. The children were able to speak small sentences and parts of songs that you
would normally hear in the United States. This is another great quality of the education that Urban
China provides. Since students or anyone that lives in Urban China can travel to English speaking
countries or come upon a sentence or television show that involves English, they will be able to
understand what is being spoken thanks to the amazing education that is being provided. Urban China
is providing a great future for the citizens and children by giving them an amazing

The Goals And Philosophy Of Art
Goals and Philosophy:
Visual Merchandisers have many employment options available in many different sectors. I believe
that displays are all encompassing. It is the little details that culminate a theme or feel that makes
customers want to shop at a particular store and have a certain type of experience depending on who
they are. It is all about making an environment whether a store, a party, a home, etc. as inviting and
welcoming as possible. I strongly believe that there is so much inspiration out there that can be used to
create compelling store displays that provoke consumers to shop and help maximize a store s profits.
This is an interesting field where not only are artistic skills necessary, but also the ability to
merchandise the sales floor and make every visual aspect of a store experience enjoyable.
My art is inspired by popular culture, the work of other artists in similar fields, and the work of
surrealist artists. The prospect of being able to have a job that comprises of creativity and a unique
perspective motivates me to pursue a career in art and design. I want to be able to have a job that I feel
is rewarding and where each day is somewhat different from the next which is possible with visual
merchandising because retail is always changing visually to keep up with trends and seasons.
In the short term I hope to get a visual merchandising internship or job where I can get more
experience and use my skills that I have learned, in the retail environment. In

Confucius And The Chinese Sage
1. Confucius said, The gentleman understands integrity; the petty person knows about profit. (18)
Confucius high emphasis on morality instead of profit was one of his major political ideals that he
tried to persuade the the rulers of the kingdoms to pursue. However, his failure to convince any of
those rulers reflected the prevalent pragmatic political culture at that period. After all, the kingdoms
were at war with each other so that Confucius idea was inevitably less popular than those battle
winning strategies in favor of profit.
Nevertheless, hundreds of years later, when China became a large unified country, its emperor started
to promote Confucius s ideas nationwide and even integrated them into 科䞟 to select government
officials, who were all supposed to master ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We learn that a sage recognizes a sage, whereas an ordinary man cannot recognize a sage. The
ordinary man sees nothing but the outer form of a beggar, while the sage has a penetrating eye able to
recognize the hidden essence. (77)
In ancient East Asian countries, sages were a group of people respected by educated people and
revered by the common illiterate mass. According to the text, the sages were those who with acute
eyes that penetrate to the essence. This statement emphasizes the distinction between the sages and
ordinary people. Although the text only shows one characteristic of the sages, sages were indeed
special for the Chinese society and the Confucianism.
For the ancient dynasties of China and Japan that influenced by Confucianism, sages were often
focusing on developing their thoughts and were not directly involved in politics. Although the
government officials studied Confucianism when they were student, oftentimes they were not
considered as sages probably because they did not possess the characteristics of the sages and did not
develop their own Confucianism theories. The sages influence mainly came from their scholarly work
and their teaching passed on by their

Karate Test Essay
I stared down at my hands, trying to control the shaking. My breathing came out slowly, if it came out
at all. I felt like bursting into tears. I stared at the boards in front of me. My head was spinning, and
my mind was racing. I couldn t believe I had missed that break.
I had practiced this break time and time again. It was my best break of all. Normally, my foot went
through the board like a hot knife through butter. I could break double boards with that sidekick and
not blink an eye or break a sweat. But now now that everything was on the line, my foot jammed the
board long before it should have penetrated.
My hands were still shaking furiously. I jumped from foot to foot, trying to shake off the first two

And my foot stopped again.
I stared at the board in disbelief. I knew the crowd was staring at me exactly the same way. I even
heard my mom gasp. I know I did. My board holder handed me back my board, fully intact. I accepted
his hesitant offering in a daze. With a clouded head, I silently took my seat at the back of the room
with all of the other candidates. I felt soft pats on the back and heard whispers in my ear: It ll be okay,
honey. You ll get it next time.
All that I could manage in response was a quick glance, a forced half smile, or a simple nod. I knew
that I couldn t speak. If I opened my mouth, all that would come out would be sobs. Even if I didn t
have my rank, I still had my pride, and I absolutely refused to let my classmates and my students see
me cry.
There was only one person in the world that was allowed to see my tears that day, and as soon as we
hit the parking lot and my mom put her arm around me, the flood could not be dammed.
I cried until there wasn t a single tear left, and then I cried some more. I didn t know what to do.
As long as I had been taking karate at that school, I had never failed so miserably. I didn t want to
accept it.
But, as it often did with many bad feelings, a big cone of Graeter s double chocolate chip ice cream
helped to heal my sorrow, and from there I just had to suck it up.
Two weeks later was even harder. It was the rank

Senior Dance Concert Review
The Senior Dance concert, 9 o clock showing consisted of seven dance pieces. The first piece was
called Heavy Dew , this piece was comprised of a six person group dance. The backdrop was a blue
shading. The sounds in this piece were waterfalls, and rainforest sounds. The movements made me
feel as though the dancers were creatures in a wilderness or a rainforest, it was fast paced. For the first
part of the performance the group of girls are dancing in front of the audience together, then as the
music turns to be more serious and intense, there is just one dancer on the stage. Then, once all the
dancers come back onto the stage, the music starts to soften and slow down again and the lights begin
to dim for the remainder of the performance. The second performance was a solo act given the title of
Love You, Possess Me. The title says it all. This was a very dark piece. The dancer was wearing an all
black lace dress. She gave off an impression of being a black widow. The movements were mostly on
the floor. The music was dim, and made me feel as though I was in a thriller film. The look on the
performer s face made me feel as though she was distant from everyone else, tragic, and apprehensive.
I enjoyed this piece the most out of all of them. The third piece was titled Unclothing The Elephant. It
consisted of seven performers. The music being played appeared to be a violin. All of the performers
were dressed in black and white attire. For majority of the performance the

The Current State Of The Cambodian Traditional Music...
Although the scholarly research is able to see the current state of the Cambodian traditional music
revival and the large impact of cultural music education, it fails to see the external benefits of this
music that promotes a culture of peace, global citizenship, and appreciation of cultural diversity and
its contribution to sustainable development .29 This cultural benefit is one of the biggest answers to
the question of why this music education and the survival of traditional music is important. Despite
the lack of coverage this element receives from most scholarly research, it has been widely recognized
by United Nations, the NGOs working in these projects, and through regular reporting from onlookers.
First of all, UNESCO recognized the importance of traditional Khemer performing arts and the
education of those arts through several projects.30 Secondy, the NGOs who work on teaching
traditional music have reported therapeutic values that their students have gained, leading to a more
sustainable lifestyle for those affected by the trauma that has impacted Cambodia.31 Outside writers
have also observed the ways in which music education and revival can positively impact the country
in the aforementioned ways.
Between 2001 2002, UNESCO, along with Japan Funds in Trust implemented a project known as
Rehabilitation of Cambodian Performing Arts: Preservation and Promotion of the Intangible Cultural

Why Is Abortion Wrong
Abortion in a general sense is a wrong concept. Abortion is defined as the deliberate termination of a
human pregnancy most often perform doing the first 28 weeks of pregnancy. Taking away human life
is morally wrong. It is generally understood that a fetus is a human being and that it is already a
person, secondly once it has been conceived within the womb it is a human being. Deuteronomy 27:25
says Cursed be he that taketh reward to slay an innocent person. And all the people shall say, Amen . .

Love Not Legalism By Madeleine L Engle
Love Not Legalism
Madeleine L Engle was a fierce thought provoking writer. She challenged me as both a believer and a
writer. Her scatterbrained writing style was relatable to me and so were the things she talked about.
She would have been a wonderful wise woman to grab a meal with. She did not shy away from
controversial topics; but instead, she introduced them. In Walking on Water L Engle sought to share
the freedom available to us if we allow Jesus Christ to break us free from our chains.
One of the topics that L Engle humbly addressed was the topic of legalism. I greatly appreciated this
because I find that many world renowned leaders shy away from talking about it, when in reality it
may be one of the enemy s most disguised tools. When people see God as an unapproachable killjoy, it
becomes natural to grow distant from Him, and I know that before becoming a Christian this was the
biggest stumbling block for me and I know some of the most kindhearted people cannot grasp the fact
that God loves them and that He sent His one and only son to save them. L Engle also tackled the
major misconception that God does not know how to laugh. He created humor and is pretty humorous
himself. George MacDonald said, It is the Heart that is not yet sure of its God that is afraid to laugh in
His presence (131). I am learning that more and more every day. The common trait that my most
joyful friends share is confidence in God s love for them. A relationship with God has so

Freud Vs Adler
Educators wear many hats, many of which are at the same time, working in an economically
disadvantaged and underperforming schools. Those students often present many emotional and
physical scars, demonstrating undesired behavior and social skills. As educators, we use theorists such
as Sigmund Freud and Alfred Adler to understand each student in part and as an individual, in order to
effectively educate and develop well rounded individuals. Although, both theorists have different
standpoints on the ways in which the personality is created, they are very similar in ideas,
understanding that environmental forces and biological environmental conditions have an impact on
lives as well.
Alder, feeling inferior to his siblings, credited his theories from the life experiences of having to
compensate for his illness and birth order. Alfred Alder, once a protégé of Sigmund Freud, turned
away from Freud in light of opposition of his sexual tension and aggressive theory. Alder focused on
the holistic individual, equality, parent education and life style. Alder believed that the expansion of
the individual, self realization and enhancement of social interest represented the idea goals of the

Into The Beautiful North Character Analysis
Into The Beautiful North FairyTale In the story Into The Beautiful North, there is an array of colorful
characters and the story seems to have strong tones of magical realism. While analyzing the
characters, many of them fit into the fairytale profiles. In the story, there is a heroine and a damsel in
distress. A hero s purpose in a book is to save the damsel in distress, which in this story, is the town
Tres Camarones. This story is a modern fairy tale because the characters fall into classic fairy tale
archetypes, but have their own modern day twist. In a fairy tale, there has to be a hero; someone who
saves the day. The hero in the story is Nayeli because she is the one who has the idea of saving the
town, and the one who executes it and ends up bringing the men home. Other characters in the story
recognize her as the heroine as well. Irma says to Nayeli, You did something I could never do. You
came here on a mission... You had to be tested. And you passed. (Urrea 314) It s obvious Nayeli is the

The damsel isn t a person that needs saving, but a town. The town of Tres Camarones is in need of a
hero and is saved in the end; these are the qualities of the damsel in distress. In the first paragraph of
the story, the town was shown in need of saving. The bandidos came to the village at the worst
possible time. Of course, everyone in Mexico would agree that there is no particularly good time for
bad men to come to town. But Tres Camarones was unguarded on that late summer s day... (Urrea 3).
When Urrea says, Tres Camarones was unguarded he s showing the town s vulnerability to the
impending doom that is coming. This town needs someone to save it; it is the damsel in distress. This
story is a contemporary fairy tale because the characters can be classified as traditional fairy tale
paradigms, but have an interesting change to them to make it

The Airline Industry
According to ATAG, in 2013, over three billion passengers were carried by the world s airlines (Facts
Figures, 2014). This fact demonstrates how the airline industry is a ubiquitous part of our lives. Even
if a person has never used an airline for personal transportation, they are still likely to have consumed
and/or used an assortment of goods transported by the industry. Still, even with its major impact on the
world around it, inside the airline industry, firms must learn to encounter a wide array of external
factors that influence their everyday operations and strategies. These factors can come from both the
general and local environments that surround the industry. Each of these factors in their own way have
an impact on the competitive environment found within the industry.
GENERAL ENVIRONMENT
The general environment consists of six different trends that can have an effect on the strategies a firm
must take to survive in its industry. These six trends are: technological, demographic, cultural,
economic, legal and political, and international (Barney Hesterly, 2016). In the airline industry, this
means things such as fuel price, terroristic threats, and the environmental impact, all of which affect a
firm s strategy choice.

The Development of the Tuberculosis Vaccine
Introduction:
Mycobacterium tuberculosis is one of the leading causes of mortality in all over the world. The
infection caused by M. tuberculosis is commonly known as tuberculosis or TB. According to a CDC
report, in 2012, approximately nine million patients were infected globally with TB and the fatality
was around 1.3 million1. It is estimated that nearly one third of the global population is infected with
TB.
M. tuberculosis was first described by Robert Koch in the year 1882 as the tubercle bacillus . The
bacterium belongs to a special group of microorganisms that contain a thick, waxy, lipid rich layer of

inadequate administration of the antibiotics. Drug resistance has become such an extensive problem

MDR TB is defined as a form of TB that is resistant to the two most potent TB antibiotics, isoniazid

same manner as sensitive TB from one person to another. MDR TB arises due to the bacteria starting

Qualitative Data Collection Paper
Qualitative Data Collection Within a quantitative study, the research is completed to seek some type of
verification, but within a qualitative study the research is completed to seek a deeper understanding
(Capella University, 2017c). For instance, Hoelscher et al. (2016) used a survey method to verify how
the students commuted to school, and they received weather reports for specific dates and locations
for data collection. In contrast, if Hoelscher et al. (2016) study was conducted using qualitative
methodology, it would be designed as a multiple case study design. A multiple case study design is an
evaluation of multiple systems that are studied and compared to one another over time (Capella
University, 2017b). The multiple cases being ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Interviews and focus groups would be conducted to gain a deeper understanding of the effects of the
grants. They would be conducted with the school staff, the funders, and the participants of the study.
Observations in the field would include seeing how the students commuted to school and how the new
building structures or implemented plans were influencing their commute. Lastly, a review of
documentation and reports that shows the efforts being made with the grants and how it is helping and
ensuring protection/safety of the participants involved.
Ethical Concerns The main ethical challenge that is presented in this study if changed from a
quantitative to a qualitative research design is the respect and protection of the participants. The
studies focus is on ensuring safety for the students as they commute to school. The study begins with
the students being as young as 9 years old. That may cause a problem when conducting a qualitative
study over a course of three years. Qualitative study collects non numerical data through words and
narratives, therefore, it is important to ensure that protective actions are in place to address this ethical
concern.

How Does Richard Connell Use Suspense In The Most...
All stories have that sense of anticipation, or worry that readers feel, the thing that uses them to keep
reading. It leaves them wondering what will happen next. This element is suspense. Suspense is a
literary device that keeps readers interested in the story. It is a series of event that build up the rising
action. In the short story, The Most Dangerous Game , the author, Richard Connell, uses suspense to
enhance the story. The author uses suspense to create a mood which gives hints about what might
happen later in the story. Rainsford explains what he felt as he and Whitney drew near to the island:
What I felt was a mental chill; a sort of sudden dread. (2) This feeling gives an eerie mood to the story.
It foreshadows that when Rainsford

The History Of Russia
The Russian Federation is a major world power on the economic and political stage, as it is a vast
nation with valuable resources within its borders. Politically, Russia has a history of intervening in
foreign affairs and playing an active part in major world conflicts. This has caused some democratic
countries to impose sanctions on the state, resulting in an economic recession and strained political
relationships. Russia is a semi presidential federation with a communist past. Even today, the Russian
government is still elusive and hesitant to release information. The current President is Vladimir Putin,

World War Two, the Cold War and the Russian Civil War (Rosenberg). Russia also had ties to the

politics, Russia s ties with the United States have been complicated over the election of President
Donald Trump and Russia s alliance with the Assad Regime in Syria (Nakashima). There are also
allegations that President Trump s son met with Russian officials regarding Hillary Clinton and that
Jared Kushner proposed a secret Washington Moscow communications line for easy access to Russian
officials. The relationship between Russia and the United States has deteriorated to a level not reached
since the end of the Cold War and dissolution of the Soviet Union. Furthermore, the threat of a nuclear
attack by Russia and its ally, North Korea, are at an all time high.
In terms of economics, Russia is currently recovering from a recession. However, that does not
prevent it from being a world superpower. The Russian GDP had been sharply declining from 2014

Summary Of Charles Dickens And Catherine Havisham
Every person has that one thing that they never want to lose, and many think that the way to make sure
it is always and forever theirs, is to become overly preoccupied and obsessed with the object, or
person, that they hold dear. In all reality, becoming this obsessed, with anything, will just drive it away
until it is eventually lost. Fictional characters are not prone to this mindset and can easily become
infatuated with a person or object, especially since their actions are at the authors disposal. Both,
Charles Dickens and Ronald Frame took advantage of this luxury and were able to manipulate the
characters as they pleased. While writing Havisham, Ronald Frame was not permitted to put in as
much imagination into the story since he was putting a twist on a story that was already written, all he
did was give his reader an inside look into the transformation of Catherine Havisham. Frame clearly
added information to Havisham s story that readers could not have possibly pulled from Herbert
Pocket s short explanation, but he also kept true to her character that was previously developed by
Dickens. Catherine Havisham, in both novels, was a woman who was full of sorrow after being left at
the altar. Frame took details that Dickens wrote and elaborated on them, he told us that Catherine
Havisham was raised without any constant female figure in her life, due to the death of her mother and
the exile Mr Havisham placed on her grandmother: My father [...] was depriving me of an

The novel portrays the feudal system of Japan by giving details of how the feudal structure is formed
during this time and gives a lot of information on people that ruled during that time. The novel goes
into detail about how lords rule Japan and how owning land is how people had power in Japan back
then. The novel also accurately portrays how this conflict over power between the lords of the lands

invasion of the Genji with Yoshitomo as their leader. The Sign Of The Chrysanthemum also manages
to accurately depict the events of this battle between Lord Kiyomori and the Taira against the
Yoshitomoand the Genji. This battle was a bloody one, which put Taria in control of the country, but
actually does not resolve the conflict between the clans. In this novel Paterson writes about a boy that
grows up into a man through his experiences in the city, but still manages to take the time period in
Japan and imply these situations into his life. The use of the feudal structure and military historical
context is the reason why this novel accurately portrays this time

A Shift Of Perspective On My Family
A Shift in Perspective
Friends,
I would like you to imagine being in a country where your family has moved but you have never
visited before. You do not speak the language. Every word you hear except from the small portion of
your family is unfamiliar and confusing. There is no implicit definition for many of these syllables and
even if there were, you would not know it, but this culture intrigues you. These people live a life like
you have never seen.
In the safety of your family s beautiful neighborhood, you decide to wander. The sun shines above
you. The air is brisk in a way you haven t quite experienced. You are bundled up to protect against this
unfamiliar cool. A hat pulled low to keep the heat in against the February chill.
You find yourself fascinated more with every step. These people lives are so different from your own.
You study this community in awe of what you are seeing. You wander between property lines of
which you are unaware, unknowingly breaking the code of this culture.
This atmosphere of beauty shifts when you are approached by two men clothed identically approach
you from a marked vehicle. You identify them as law enforcers, but you are uncertain of how you will
answer their questions. Their words come too quickly for you to even partially comprehend. A terror
swells in you to find someone to translate and mediate. You need your family here.
You begin to walk in the direction of your son s home, anxious and unsure of how else to

How Music Defines You Essay
I think music in itself is healing. It s an explosive expression of humanity. It s something we are all
touched by. No matter what culture we re from, everyone loves music. This famous quote said by
Billy Joel does a good job describing the way music can affect people. Different songs can impact
people, change their moods, or bring back memories related to a certain tune. Each person, however,
has their own unique taste in music; one song can be loved by one but hated by another, it all depends
on our personal taste and what we can relate to. This made me wonder, what does the music I listen to
say about myself? Do the lyrics define who I am as a person, or do I simply like songs because of the
beat? As I looked at my top ten playlist, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The second song I analyzed was Paradise by Coldplay. Similarly to Kids , the song Paradise starts
with the idea of childhood. When she was just a girl she expected the world. But it flew away from her
reach so she ran away in her sleep and dreamed of paradise is the opening verse for this tune. It talks
of a young girl with big dreams expecting the world. As the girl in the song grows up she finds that
life is not as simple as she believed. Life goes on, it gets so heavy. The wheel breaks the butterfly.
Every tear a waterfall. In the night the stormy night she ll close her eyes. Those lyrics are a good
example of how life has some downs, tears, and storms, but it talks of how the girl stays positive when
the song says, She d say, I know the sun must set to rise. I think this song is a good reflection of me. I
have big dreams for myself, but as life goes on I go through some bumps in the road. I have
encountered many of my own stormy nights, but I know the sun will rise to a clearer and brighter day
in time. I have learned not to expect things to be handed to me, but to chase after my dreams, and my
own perfect paradise to a path of success. My final and favorite song I looked at was the song Pursuit
of Happiness by Kid Cudi. Kid Cudi is my favorite artist, so it makes sense that my favorite song is
one of his most popular. However, when I tell people my favorite artist is Kid Cudi, they give me
weird looks because most of his songs do not

Theu.s. P. Taylor s Ten Days That Shook The World
99 years has passed since the 1917 October Revolution a time of chaos and uncertainty, an event that
would shape the world for decades to come. In the midst of the fog of revolution , John Reed s Ten
Days That Shook the World navigates through this tumultuous time. Reed was an American journalist
and socialist, coming to Russia on an assignment from a socialist magazine, The Masses he was a man
deeply involved with the socialist movement, and thus, with the revolution. As the historian A. J. P.
Taylor puts it, This was his revolution, not an obscure event in a foreign country. Thus, his first hand
account, written in 1919, provides a slice of intensified history , attempting to capture the spirit of the
revolution, rather than providing a dry text on it sometimes forsaking historical accuracy, but
genuinely attempting to be a fair account, despite its bias.
The book starts off towards the end of September 1917, with tensions already high. Though the
February Revolution had signified a new change in Russia, the provisional government continued to
fight in the Great War. The moderate socialists in power, led by Alexander Kerensky, were opposed by
the radical Bolsheviks, led by Vladimir Lenin and Leon Trotsky. This is where Reed comes in the
picture. Only weeks earlier, General Kornilov had marched on Petrograd. The populace was already
discontent, but the Kornilov affair had revitalised support for the Bolsheviks. This culminates in the
October Revolution the

They expected a conviction. Based on the physical evidence collected at Nicole s and Simpson s
homes the prosecution claimed that Simpson drove to Nicole s house on the evening of the murder
with the intention of killing her. They composed a story of the events that happened that night. Nicole
put her two children to bed and while getting ready to go to bed herself, opened the front door of her
house after either responding to a knock on the front door or hearing a noise outside. Simpson grabbed
her before she could scream and attacked her with a knife. Forensic evidence from the Los Angeles
County coroner suggested that Ron Goldman arrived at the front gate sometime during the assault and
the assailant attacked him by stabbing him repeatedly in the neck and chest while restraining him.
Nicole was found lying face down so it is believed that the assailant, after finishing with Goldman,
pulled her head back using her hair and slit her throat with the knife, severing her carotid artery.
Simpson left a trail of blood from the condo to the alley behind it and there were drops of Simpson s

In the European theater of World War II, 1942 marked the dominance of the Axis powers. German
forces in the Soviet Union had reached Stalingrad and threatened the oil fields of the Caucasus; Axis
forces in Africa seemed on the verge of pushing the British out of Egypt; and German U boat wolf
packs preyed on Allied shipping with relative impunity [1]. Late in 1942, however, two significant
Allied successes served to turn the tide against the Axis powers. At El Alamein, a British offensive

Both the Axis and Allies saw overseas French forces as the decisive advantage that would allow them
to achieve their differing objectives in the Mediterranean.
In North Africa, General Field Marshal Erwin Rommel and his Afrika Korps, allied with the weak
Italian army, had pushed the British eastward into capturing the Western Desert area of Libya and
Alexandria, Egypt [9]. The British Eighth Army was still a viable force in Egypt, but had been on the
defensive for some time and would not regain the initiative until late 1942, with the British victory at
El Alamein, immediately prior to the Torch landings [9].
Strategic negotiations between U.S. President Franklin Roosevelt and British Prime Minister Winston
Churchill led to an agreement to send American troops to North Africa in late 1942 to strengthen
British interests in the Mediterranean, and open a second front to take pressure off Russia on the
Eastern Front. In return, the British would further American plans to defeat Hitler in Europe by
supporting a major cross Channel attack [4].
Inception of Operation Torch: In 1942, having been persuaded of the impracticality of launching an
invasion of France as a second front, American commanders agreed to conduct landings in northwest
Africa with the goal of clearing the continent of Axis troops and preparing the way for a future attack

  • 4. The Transformation Of Leadership In The Jungle Book By... To become a leader in any sense one must have certain attributes that exemplify courage, confidence and humility. It may seem unlikely that a man raised very much by the jungle would be able to become such a thing, however in The Jungle Book written by Rudyard Kipling, Mowgli managed to display leadership with the help of numerous mentors along his journey. Mowgli was born in the human society, but was raised by the jungle, specifically by Baloo and Bagheera. Mowgli is faced with many adversities such as acceptance problems and identity confusion throughout this text that forced him to look within himself and find his true potential. Until Baloo and Bagheera took Mowgli in as their own it appears any chance that Mowgli had of achieving total personal growth as a human being living in the animal kingdom was nearly impossible. Mowgli s interest in learning from Baloo, Bagheera and the Humans allowed Mowgli to transcend beyond just being an oblivious human living in the jungle. Instead Mowgli transformed into a true leader with his own hybrid identity with their help. Mowgli learned skills about living within the jungle and how to better accept his hybrid identity with help from Baloo, Bagheer and the Humans during his upbringing. This paper will analyze these relationships, looking at how they played such a large role in the transformation that Mowgli goes through within the confines of the text. Baloo taught Mowgli crucial knowledge about surviving in the jungle, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is the little details that culminate a theme or feel that makes customers want to shop at a particular store and have a certain type of experience depending on who they are. It is all about making an environment whether a store, a party, a home, etc. as inviting and welcoming as possible. I strongly believe that there is so much inspiration out there that can be used to create compelling store displays that provoke consumers to shop and help maximize a store s profits. This is an interesting field where not only are artistic skills necessary, but also the ability to merchandise the sales floor and make every visual aspect of a store experience enjoyable. My art is inspired by popular culture, the work of other artists in similar fields, and the work of surrealist artists. The prospect of being able to have a job that comprises of creativity and a unique perspective motivates me to pursue a career in art and design. According to the text, the sages were those who with acute eyes that penetrate to the essence. This statement emphasizes the distinction between the sages and ordinary people. Although the text only shows one characteristic of the sages, sages were indeed special for the Chinese society and the Confucianism. For the ancient dynasties of China and Japan that influenced by Confucianism, sages were often focusing on developing their thoughts and were not directly involved in politics. Although the government officials studied Confucianism when they were student, oftentimes they were not considered as sages probably because they did not possess the characteristics of the sages and did not develop their own Confucianism theories. The first piece was called Heavy Dew , this piece was comprised of a six person group dance. The backdrop was a blue shading. The sounds in this piece were waterfalls, and rainforest sounds. The movements made me feel as though the dancers were creatures in a wilderness or a rainforest, it was fast paced. For the first part of the performance the group of girls are dancing in front of the audience together, then as the music turns to be more serious and intense, there is just one dancer on the stage. Then, once all the dancers come back onto the stage, the music starts to soften and slow down again and the lights begin to dim for the remainder of the performance. The second performance was a solo act given the title of Love You, Possess Me. The title says it all. This was a very dark piece. The dancer was wearing an all black lace dress. She gave off an impression of being a black widow. The movements were mostly on the floor. The music was dim, and made me feel as though I was in a thriller film. The look on the performer s face made me feel as though she was distant from everyone else, tragic, and apprehensive. I enjoyed this piece the most out of all of them. The third piece was titled Unclothing The Elephant. It consisted of seven performers. The music being played appeared to be a violin. All of the performers were dressed in black and white attire. Although the scholarly research is able to see the current state of the Cambodian traditional music revival and the large impact of cultural music education, it fails to see the external benefits of this music that promotes a culture of peace, global citizenship, and appreciation of cultural diversity and its contribution to sustainable development .29 This cultural benefit is one of the biggest answers to the question of why this music education and the survival of traditional music is important. Despite the lack of coverage this element receives from most scholarly research, it has been widely recognized by United Nations, the NGOs working in these projects, and through regular reporting from onlookers. First of all, UNESCO recognized the importance of traditional Khemer performing arts and the education of those arts through several projects.30 Secondy, the NGOs who work on teaching traditional music have reported therapeutic values that their students have gained, leading to a more sustainable lifestyle for those affected by the trauma that has impacted Cambodia.31 Outside writers have also observed the ways in which music education and revival can positively impact the country in the aforementioned ways. Her scatterbrained writing style was relatable to me and so were the things she talked about. She would have been a wonderful wise woman to grab a meal with. She did not shy away from controversial topics; but instead, she introduced them. In Walking on Water L Engle sought to share the freedom available to us if we allow Jesus Christ to break us free from our chains. One of the topics that L Engle humbly addressed was the topic of legalism. I greatly appreciated this because I find that many world renowned leaders shy away from talking about it, when in reality it may be one of the enemy s most disguised tools. When people see God as an unapproachable killjoy, it becomes natural to grow distant from Him, and I know that before becoming a Christian this was the biggest stumbling block for me and I know some of the most kindhearted people cannot grasp the fact that God loves them and that He sent His one and only son to save them. L Engle also tackled the major misconception that God does not know how to laugh. He created humor and is pretty humorous himself. George MacDonald said, It is the Heart that is not yet sure of its God that is afraid to laugh in His presence (131). I am learning that more and more every day. This fact demonstrates how the airline industry is a ubiquitous part of our lives. Even if a person has never used an airline for personal transportation, they are still likely to have consumed and/or used an assortment of goods transported by the industry. Still, even with its major impact on the world around it, inside the airline industry, firms must learn to encounter a wide array of external factors that influence their everyday operations and strategies. These factors can come from both the general and local environments that surround the industry. Each of these factors in their own way have an impact on the competitive environment found within the industry. GENERAL ENVIRONMENT The general environment consists of six different trends that can have an effect on the strategies a firm must take to survive in its industry. These six trends are: technological, demographic, cultural, economic, legal and political, and international (Barney Hesterly, 2016). In the airline industry, this means things such as fuel price, terroristic threats, and the environmental impact, all of which affect a firm s strategy choice. • 27. Summary Of Charles Dickens And Catherine Havisham Every person has that one thing that they never want to lose, and many think that the way to make sure it is always and forever theirs, is to become overly preoccupied and obsessed with the object, or person, that they hold dear. In all reality, becoming this obsessed, with anything, will just drive it away until it is eventually lost. Fictional characters are not prone to this mindset and can easily become infatuated with a person or object, especially since their actions are at the authors disposal. Both, Charles Dickens and Ronald Frame took advantage of this luxury and were able to manipulate the characters as they pleased. While writing Havisham, Ronald Frame was not permitted to put in as much imagination into the story since he was putting a twist on a story that was already written, all he did was give his reader an inside look into the transformation of Catherine Havisham. Frame clearly added information to Havisham s story that readers could not have possibly pulled from Herbert Pocket s short explanation, but he also kept true to her character that was previously developed by Dickens. Catherine Havisham, in both novels, was a woman who was full of sorrow after being left at the altar. • 33. A Shift Of Perspective On My Family A Shift in Perspective Friends, I would like you to imagine being in a country where your family has moved but you have never visited before. You do not speak the language. Every word you hear except from the small portion of your family is unfamiliar and confusing. There is no implicit definition for many of these syllables and even if there were, you would not know it, but this culture intrigues you. These people live a life like you have never seen. In the safety of your family s beautiful neighborhood, you decide to wander. The sun shines above you. The air is brisk in a way you haven t quite experienced. You are bundled up to protect against this unfamiliar cool. A hat pulled low to keep the heat in against the February chill. You find yourself fascinated more with every step. These people lives are so different from your own. You study this community in awe of what you are seeing. You wander between property lines of which you are unaware, unknowingly breaking the code of this culture. This atmosphere of beauty shifts when you are approached by two men clothed identically approach you from a marked vehicle. You identify them as law enforcers, but you are uncertain of how you will answer their questions. Their words come too quickly for you to even partially comprehend. • 34. How Music Defines You Essay I think music in itself is healing. It s an explosive expression of humanity. It s something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we re from, everyone loves music. This famous quote said by Billy Joel does a good job describing the way music can affect people. Different songs can impact people, change their moods, or bring back memories related to a certain tune. Each person, however, has their own unique taste in music; one song can be loved by one but hated by another, it all depends on our personal taste and what we can relate to. This made me wonder, what does the music I listen to say about myself? Do the lyrics define who I am as a person, or do I simply like songs because of the beat? As I looked at my top ten playlist, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The second song I analyzed was Paradise by Coldplay. Similarly to Kids , the song Paradise starts with the idea of childhood. When she was just a girl she expected the world. But it flew away from her reach so she ran away in her sleep and dreamed of paradise is the opening verse for this tune. It talks of a young girl with big dreams expecting the world. As the girl in the song grows up she finds that life is not as simple as she believed. Life goes on, it gets so heavy. The wheel breaks the butterfly. Every tear a waterfall. In the night the stormy night she ll close her eyes. Those lyrics are a good example of how life has some downs, tears, and storms, but it talks of how the girl stays positive when the song says, She d say, I know the sun must set to rise. I think this song is a good reflection of me. I have big dreams for myself, but as life goes on I go through some bumps in the road. I have encountered many of my own stormy nights, but I know the sun will rise to a clearer and brighter day in time. I have learned not to expect things to be handed to me, but to chase after my dreams, and my own perfect paradise to a path of success. My final and favorite song I looked at was the song Pursuit of Happiness by Kid Cudi. Kid Cudi is my favorite artist, so it makes sense that my favorite song is one of his most popular. However, when I tell people my favorite artist is Kid Cudi, they give me weird looks because most of his songs do not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Theu.s. P. Taylor s Ten Days That Shook The World 99 years has passed since the 1917 October Revolution a time of chaos and uncertainty, an event that would shape the world for decades to come. In the midst of the fog of revolution , John Reed s Ten Days That Shook the World navigates through this tumultuous time. Reed was an American journalist and socialist, coming to Russia on an assignment from a socialist magazine, The Masses he was a man deeply involved with the socialist movement, and thus, with the revolution. As the historian A. J. P. Taylor puts it, This was his revolution, not an obscure event in a foreign country. Thus, his first hand account, written in 1919, provides a slice of intensified history , attempting to capture the spirit of the revolution, rather than providing a dry text on it sometimes forsaking historical accuracy, but genuinely attempting to be a fair account, despite its bias. The book starts off towards the end of September 1917, with tensions already high. Though the February Revolution had signified a new change in Russia, the provisional government continued to fight in the Great War. The moderate socialists in power, led by Alexander Kerensky, were opposed by the radical Bolsheviks, led by Vladimir Lenin and Leon Trotsky. This is where Reed comes in the picture. Only weeks earlier, General Kornilov had marched on Petrograd. The populace was already discontent, but the Kornilov affair had revitalised support for the Bolsheviks. This culminates in the October Revolution the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Based on the physical evidence collected at Nicole s and Simpson s homes the prosecution claimed that Simpson drove to Nicole s house on the evening of the murder with the intention of killing her. They composed a story of the events that happened that night. Nicole put her two children to bed and while getting ready to go to bed herself, opened the front door of her house after either responding to a knock on the front door or hearing a noise outside. Simpson grabbed her before she could scream and attacked her with a knife. Forensic evidence from the Los Angeles County coroner suggested that Ron Goldman arrived at the front gate sometime during the assault and the assailant attacked him by stabbing him repeatedly in the neck and chest while restraining him. Nicole was found lying face down so it is believed that the assailant, after finishing with Goldman, pulled her head back using her hair and slit her throat with the knife, severing her carotid artery. • 38. Romanov Dynasty Research Paper A combination of factors attributed to the fall of the Romanov Dynasty in 1917. These factors include the first World War, social and economic hardship, revolutionary individuals and ideologies, as well as the inadequate leadership and reputation of Tsar Nicholas II. The Romanov Dynasty collapsed in 1917 after years of discontented citizens living in undesirable conditions under Autocratic rule. To quote Historian Orlando Figes Collapse is certainly the right word to use. For the Romanov regime fell under the weight of it s own internal contradictions. It was not overthrown. The Tsar was not in touch with the needs and desires of the Russian people, so the people disagreed with many of the decisions he made, which in turn affected his rapport with his citizens. • 40. The European Theater Of World War II In the European theater of World War II, 1942 marked the dominance of the Axis powers. German forces in the Soviet Union had reached Stalingrad and threatened the oil fields of the Caucasus; Axis forces in Africa seemed on the verge of pushing the British out of Egypt; and German U boat wolf packs preyed on Allied shipping with relative impunity [1]. Late in 1942, however, two significant Allied successes served to turn the tide against the Axis powers. At El Alamein, a British offensive defeated General Erwin Rommel s Afrika Korps, while almost simultaneously a huge Anglo American force landed in North Africa to contest Axis control; Operation Torch. Both the Axis and Allies saw overseas French forces as the decisive advantage that would allow them to achieve their differing objectives in the Mediterranean. In North Africa, General Field Marshal Erwin Rommel and his Afrika Korps, allied with the weak Italian army, had pushed the British eastward into capturing the Western Desert area of Libya and Alexandria, Egypt [9]. The British Eighth Army was still a viable force in Egypt, but had been on the defensive for some time and would not regain the initiative until late 1942, with the British victory at El Alamein, immediately prior to the Torch landings [9]. Strategic negotiations between U.S. President Franklin Roosevelt and British Prime Minister Winston Churchill led to an agreement to send American troops to North Africa in late 1942 to strengthen British interests in the Mediterranean, and open a second front to take pressure off Russia on the Eastern Front. In return, the British would further American plans to defeat Hitler in Europe by supporting a major cross Channel attack [4]. Inception of Operation Torch: In 1942, having been persuaded of the impracticality of launching an invasion of France as a second front, American commanders agreed to conduct landings in northwest Africa with the goal of clearing the continent of Axis troops and preparing the way for a future attack on southern Europe.
