Effects Of Divorce Essay
Crafting an essay on the effects of divorce is undoubtedly a challenging task that requires a
delicate balance between empathy and objectivity. Delving into the intricate web of emotions,
psychological repercussions, and societal impacts demands a thorough understanding of human
relationships and the complexities that surround divorce.
One of the primary challenges lies in navigating the myriad perspectives on this subject. The
effects of divorce vary significantly from person to person, encompassing emotional, financial,
and psychological dimensions. Attempting to capture this diversity while presenting a cohesive
narrative can be daunting. It necessitates a nuanced approach that recognizes the individuality of
each case while identifying overarching patterns and trends.
Furthermore, the research involved in such an essay requires a careful examination of
psychological studies, sociological analyses, and personal accounts. Synthesizing this
information into a coherent and well-structured argument demands both time and intellectual
rigor. Balancing statistical evidence with real-life stories adds depth to the essay, but it also
requires a skillful touch to avoid overwhelming the reader with data.
Addressing the sensitive nature of the topic is another layer of complexity. The effects of divorce
are deeply personal and can evoke strong emotions in both the writer and the audience. Striking
a balance between a compassionate exploration of the human experience and maintaining an
academic tone is crucial. It requires a delicate touch to discuss the profound emotional turmoil
without descending into sentimentality or losing the academic rigor expected in an essay.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the effects of divorce is a formidable undertaking that requires
a keen understanding of human relationships, extensive research, and a delicate balance between
empathy and objectivity. Successfully navigating these challenges can lead to a compelling and
insightful exploration of a complex and deeply impactful societal phenomenon.

Sex Education in the U.S. and Japan Essay
How much sexual knowledge adults should give to adolescents has been discussed
for decades to decrease teenage pregnancy and sex related diseases. According to The
National Campaign to prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy (2013), the U.S. has
the highest rate of teenage pregnancy among developed countries, and about sixty
eight girls per thousand became pregnant in 2008. To change this situation, the U.S.
provides two kinds of sex education: abstinence only sex educationand comprehensive
sex education. In contrast, Japan has one of the lowest rates among developed
countries. Summing up the birth and abortion dates, at least 34,220 girls became
pregnant in 2011 (Japanese Ministry of Health, 2011). Even though Japan has less

It has three features. First, it has been supported by the federal government since
1981 (Santelli, Ott, Lyon, Rogers, Summers, Schelifer, 2006). Especially since 1996,
the governmental support has become stronger and has provided a lot of money to
the organizations which support abstinence only sex education. For example,
according to the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation (2002), the federal government
provided about $135 million to the family planning programs that support abstinence
only sex education in 2001. However, instead of giving the strong financial support,
the government set the detailed definitions of abstinence only sex education and
restricted other information (Santelli, Ott, Lyon, Rogers, Summers, Schelifer, 2006).
Secondly, this program believes that abstinence until marriage is the best way to
protect a teenager s health physically and psychologically. Therefore, in the program,
students learn that being abstinent until marriage is the only way to protect them
from becoming pregnant and having sex between adolescents is harmful physically
and psychologically. They tend to approach their students from the psychological
aspect, since there are actually no scientific date which suggests having sex between
adolescents are physically harmful (Santelli, Ott, Lyon, Rogers, Summers, Schelifer,
2006). Thirdly, teaching about contraception is forbidden because it argues that this

The zoo, as an institution, has changed and evolved over thousands of years of
human history. And while zoological gardens have improved immensely, and now
appear to have a greater purpose than its predecessors, it has always, and still is,
generating an active debate over its existence. The zoo can be looked at from several
different angles. The zooholds itself as a conservation community, research oriented
for captive breeding, and an educational center for young minds. All the while

They contradict themselves with those different aspects, yet they still manage to

America Never Was America Again By Langston Hughes
Has America ever been great, of the 239 years this influential country has been a
country has it ever been truly great and free? As Langston Hughes exclaimed,
America never was America to me . Learned Hand and Langston Hughes had
differences on their thought on the topic of Liberty and whether America is great.
Hughes and Hands opinion of Libertyhas changed the way the common man reacts to
racism and the way we perceive America s greatness.
America is arguably the most robust country and yet it also one of many countries
where we are not all free. In the poem Let America Be America Again Langston
Hughes shows his opinion of America and declared that America has never been
great and never will be if there is varied equality among the ethnics and their social
classes. Learned Hand announced That spirit of an American which has never been,
and may never be; nay, which never will be except as the conscience and courage of
Americas create it , her he feels that America is only as good as the common people
in it, therefore, Americas future lies in our hands and the way we use it. Both
Langston Hughes and Learned Hand presumed that America has never been great
yet, Hand is unsure on whether America has the potential to change their ways but,
Langston Hughes let out his emotions exclaiming America never was America to
me, and yet I swear this oath America will be! These two Americans have shown
how they feel and believe that we can only be a magnificent country if we believe
Judge Court Should Not Accept A Waiver
Trial by jury consist of five major parts. Part one a jury should consist of twelve
persons with a verdict being unanimous. A waiver of a trial by jury, is required to
be tried by jury unless the jury trial is waived by the prosecutor. But, the court
should not accept a waiver unless the defendant is being advised by the court to trial
by jury. However, a defendant may not withdraw a voluntary and knowing wavier

all members to make a full jury. The stipulation should be clear as to the number of

Making My Fashion Dreams Become A Reality
Growing up surrounded by historical landmarks, creative arts, and Southern charm,
I have always been an admirer of fashion and beauty. When I was a young child of
five years, I would continually play dress up and dream of becoming a Fashionista
that assists movie stars and social elite for their red carpet appearances. I wanted to
contribute to others in seeing the beauty in themselves and the world around them.
After about eighteen years, nothing has really changed within my mind set. Today, I
still dream of working in the fashionindustry, but more importantly, making a
difference in the world. In the process of making my fashion dreams become a
reality, at seventeen, I secured enrollment at Northeast MississippiCommunity
College majoring in fashion merchandising. My first two years at junior college
were wonderful, and I thoroughly enjoyed participating in the arts, being the Captain
of the Tiger Dancers and Pom Squad, playing as a member of the tennis team, and
supporting Prentiss county as Miss Hospitality 2013. These years taught me time
management like no other while also leading me down the path of self expression
and competitiveness. Finding immense knowledge and encouragement from
professors in little classrooms and civilians in a small Mississippi town perfected my
willingness to strive to do my utmost best in every circumstance, whether it be
reaching my goals or helping others. Attending Northeast Mississippi Community
College opened for me a world of

Henry V Theme Of War
Known as one of the greatest warrior kings in all of English history, Henry V has
left a hefty impression. In Shakespeare s play of the same name, the monarch battles
literally with France for the throne and figuratively with accountability and being a
just ruler and conqueror. Through the story, we can see the values Henry holds and
how the real implications of war aren t something the king cannot deal with in a
proper manner. The debate between King Henry and the common soldiers like
Williams and Bates illustrate fundamental problems with Henry s rule and asks
important questions about the motives behind war itself. In Act 4, Scene 1 of
Shakespeare s Henry V, the king does incognito in a cloak to interact with the
everyman of his army. This... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He ignores the responsibility of the king for putting all these lives in danger. He
denies the fault of the king for waging the war, and instead deflects the blame onto
the will of God. Basically, his response to the soldiers is that they must be
spiritually prepared when they go into battle because the king is not responsible
for their deaths. This is a believe that is horribly ignorant and unfair to the people
who might actually lose their lives. When the king conquers the French port on the
mouth of the Seine, he insults them and states that God is on their side. Eventually,
he implies that the French should feel badly for being responsible for the death of
their many citizens at the hands of English. However, the same doesn t apply for
himself when he could be leading his men to their deaths. This might be because he
thinks God s favor lies with England but it is of course foolish and hypocritical to
believe this. Using religion as a shield is a method Henry uses throughout the play,
stating the kingdom of England has God on their side on multiple occasions. This
aversion of guilt continually demonstrates Henry s doubt in himself and fragile

anything but hard, battling your depression many times. Your first suicideattempt, you
were gone for days, your family scared on where you went; little did they know you
right under their feet. You were found in the cellar of your home, dazed and covered
in your own vomit. Your mother, Aurelia Plath, sent you to a mental institution.

Essay On Foreign Direct Investment
Conceptual Framework and profile of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and Economic
Growth in India
Foreign Direct Investment Foreign Direct Investment is the investment of a country
domestic assets into foreign structures, equipment and organizations, but does not
include investment into stock markets. Foreign direct investment reflects the objective
of obtaining a lasting interest by a resident entity in one economy (direct investor) in
an entity resident in an economy other than that of the investor (direct investment
enterprise). The lasting interest implies the existence of a long term relationship
between the direct investor and the enterprise and a significant degree of influence on
the management of the enterprise. Direct investment involves both the initial
transaction between the two entities and all subsequent capital transactions between
them and among affiliated enterprises, both incorporated and unincorporated.
Foreign Direct Investment is investment involving a long term relationship and
lasting interest in and control by a resident entity in one economy in an enterprise
resident in another economy. In FDI, the investor exerts significant influence on the
management of the enterprise resident in the other economy.
a.Foreign Affiliate or Direct Investment Enterprise is an incorporated or
unincorporated enterprise in which a foreign direct investor, resident in another
economy, owns a stake that permits a lasting interest in the management of that
enterprise.
Using Animals In Research And To Test Products Has Been
Using animals in research and to test products has been a topic of heated debate for
many years. Animals have contributed to research and we have found many cures to
diseases that would have otherwise killed us. Many individuals view animals as
companions that exhibit emotion and have a personality, they re not viewed as lab
subjects. The fact remains that animals are utilized by research facilities and
cosmetics companies, not just across the country but around the entire world.
Although humans do benefit from animal research, the pain, suffering, and annual
deaths of over one hundred million animals are not worth the human benefits. Why
should animals suffer unnecessarily for the human benefit? Animals are given
diseases that they would... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But babies also do not have those rights and cannot express themselves through
language, but they are treated with respect and are not tortured (Mur 10). PETA
stands for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, the case that launched it
was the Silver Springs Monkey experiment that took place in Silver Spring,
Maryland. In this laboratory, 17 monkeys were held in small wired cages with
feces and urine that have accumulated over several years. The experiment was run
by a Psychologist named Edward Taub who had no previous medical training. The
monkeys would be subjected to many spinal surgeries that would cause one or
more of their limbs to become useless. They would be forced to regain mobility of
their useless limbs by constantly being shocked. These monkeys would lose fingers
by getting them caught in the cage, some only had three out of ten fingers left. They
were food deprived and they would scavenge through their feces to find something to
eat (The Silver Spring Monkeys: The Case That Launched PETA).
There are many alternatives to animal testing. For example, synthetic skin; the
synthetic skin has been made and may replace the use of animal subjects. The Draize
test, for example, was an eye irritancy test, in which cosmetics, dishwashing liquid,
drain cleaner, and other substances are dripped into the animals eyes, often causing
redness, swelling, discharge, ulceration, hemorrhaging, cloudiness, or blindness

The War Experience in Italian Film Essay
The War Experience in Italian Film
The experience of war as it is presented throughout the history of Italian cinema is a
uniquely composite display of historical reverence and cultural consecration. An
analysis of this experience in all of its manifestations can be discerned from the
evaluation of one or several works from the post World
War II period within the corpus of the Italian cultural signification. It follows from
this approach that the essence of the results of this analysis will then represent an
appreciative grasp of the aforementioned corpus. The war experience in Italian film
can be succinctly considered through a detailed analysis of Rome, Open City (Roma,
CittГ Aperta, Roberto Rossellini, 1945),

The film, which contains moments ranging from dark comedy to poignant
melodrama, also relies on stock documentary footage and intimate battle sequences to
supplement the enthralling story. The narrative progression of the film carries
through effortlessly, and is accompanied by rhetorically inventive dialogue and
character associations that operate on the allegorical level. For instance, one scene in
which a group of Nazi officials murder a sheep operates metaphorically to link
Christianity to communism while simultaneously equating the fascists with butchers
of the innocent. (Forgacs 9 45)
Concomitant with this method of scrutinizing the film, many of the characters names
are subject to onomastics. Giorgio Manfredi, who later in the film changes his
identity to Giovanni Episcopo, is switched from association with St. George
(typically shown slaying a dragon) to St. John (the martyred priest of ancient Rome).
The priest, Pietro Pellegrini, is translated as
Peter Pilgrim. He is associated, by virtue of his name, with the side of good and in
the dominion of religion represents a modern analog of St. Peter (A martyr who was
put to death during the Roman persecutions). Giussepina
(Pina), is the female form of Joseph, who was the patron of the Universal church.
Lastly there is Romoletto, the neighborhood child that sabotages the
Nazi events and chants the themes of the resistance without knowing their meaning.
His name is translated as little
Restrictions on Free Speech in Malaysia
Protecting Free Speech, by using Restrictions?
It is undeniable that the citizens of Malaysia have been granted the freedom of
speech, assembly and association, as stated in the Act 10 of the Federal Constitution.
Quoted from the Federal Constitution, every citizen has the right to free expression
and speech. However, freedom of speech is an issue which has been discussed and
argued for a long time, not only in Malaysia but all around the world. It is discussed
that how free a speech can be. Does freedom of speech mean that we can simply talk
something bad about the ruler without any evidence? Liberty (2014) defines that the
freedom of speech includes the right of every citizen in communicating and
expressing in any medium, holding opinions, receiving information ideas and
participating in demonstration and protest without the interference of the country or
government.
Although by judging solely from the definition, political expression which covers the
matters of public interest seems acceptable, it is undeniable that under the Act 10 of
the Federal Constitution, clause 2 has stated that the parliament can impose law to
restrict the freedom of speech. Such restrictions are said to protect the security of
Malaysia, privileges of Parliament and the public order. Besides, Art 10 (4) also
stated that the law can restrict the questioning of any matter, status, privilege and
sovereignty. InterNations (2014) has also explained that there are also limitations of
civil freedoms
Search Warrant Research Paper
Introduction:
Nowadays, Digital devices are everywhere in people s daily lives, from computers,
smart phones, gaming consoles to monitors, GPS, printers and so on. Any device
that can store data might be a very important piece of evidence. This requires us,
people who carry digital devices, to understand rules of digital devices.
For example, can policer officer search your digital devices without your permission?
What if you found a suspicious folder when you am using your roommate s
computer, should you open it and inspect through? Or a police officer show up in
front of your house, and ask you to sign a consent form so they can search your

R.v. Colarusso (1994) states that the citizen s right to have a reasonable
expectation of privacy. In digital evidence, our cellphone and personal computer
are considered as having a very high expectation of privacy, so search warrant or
consent to search are usually required when search such devices. However, it is
suggested that the degree of privacy is lessened where a personal computer has
been brought to a repair shop by R. v. Graham (2010). So a computer technician can
make a copy of clients data and give it to police officer to inspect without warrant or
consent. In some other situation, like devices searched by incident to arrest or under

In the novel, Passing Time, Ehrhart experiences change. For instance, Ehrhart begins
to realize that the war was a huge mistake on the government s behalf. Ehrhart
believed that the government shouldn t have taken part in the Vietnamese war due to
the innocent deaths that developed over the years. Many of the soldiers, including
Ehrhart, were traumatized by the killings during the war. Ehrhart often questions the
events that take place during the war. For example, when Ehrhart witnessed innocent

The police treated the protest as if it was a riot. The police didn t give a reasonable

with the anti war members protest. For instance, Ehrhart describes that one woman
was being beaten to death by a police officer and Ehrhart tackled the police officer
to the ground (Ehrhart 166). A man had to help Ehrhart drag the woman to safety
after the woman was saved from being beaten to death. Another event that showed
the effects of the anti war movement well after Ehrhart returned from the war was
when Ehrhart was at another anti war protest. Ehrhart was explaining to the public
why he decided to go against the war. Ehrhart explained that he couldn t support
something so pointless (Ehrhart 177). Ehrhart believed the government had made
the people believe that they were trying to stop the vast spread of communism.
Ehrhart believed that the government was lying and that President Nixon wanted to
start and win another war (Ehrhart 169). Ehrhart often expressed his anti war
movement views to his crew mate, Roger. When talking to Roger, Ehrhart explains
his theory on why he feels lied to by the government. Ehrhart explained to Roger
that Vietnam is nothing but a way for the United States to express their dominance
and control. For example Ehrhart says, what we want is freedom to do business on
our own terms and as much of the damned pie we can grab (Ehrhart 181).

Write An Essay On Amur Leopards
The Amur leopard is a subspecies of leopards typically found in the African
savannah, this particular species however is native to the tundra of northeast
China and far eastern Russia. They are a critically endangered derivative of wild
cats, with only an estimated fifty individuals left in the wild. Much like other big
cat species, the Amur leopard tends to live alone, except to breed. Females sexually
mature around the ages of three or four years, usually having anywhere from one to
four cubs at a time, and after about two years, the cubs become fully independent.
Being carnivorous, the amur leopard s diet consists of predominantly deer and other

Buddhism Is Considered A Religion Or A Philosophy
Many people are curious as to whether buddhism is considered a religion or a
philosophy but I believe that it is both. According to (https://www.google.com
/#q=buddhismBuddhism) is a non theistic religion or philosophy that encompasses a
variety of traditions, beliefs and spiritual practices largely based on teachings
attributed to the Buddha. Buddhisminhabits several traits that consider it a religion
and a philosophy. There is not a clear distinction that defines buddhism as one or
the other. Some practices of Buddhism display faith and belief which are qualities
of religion and other practices display reality, existence and knowledge which are
qualities of philosophy. Trying to separate religion from philosophy does not work
well in the case of Buddhism. According to (https://www.google.com/#q=religion)
religion is a cultural system of behaviors, practices, world views, ethics and social
organization that relate humanity to an order of existence. Buddhism is considered
a religion because it does in fact involve elements of self transformation, faith and
belief. It has a core set of beliefs that are common to almost all branches of
buddhism. Buddhism clearly defines a mythology, a soteriology, and a eschatology
which is what religion consists of. Much of Mahayana Buddhism is religious for
example, Pure Land Buddhism has many parallels to the theistic religions. Buddhism
contains an explanation of the origin of existence, a morality and a specific set or

Mean, standard deviation, CV, maximum and minimum values of process parameters
from the 10 batches studied are shown in table 6 (see page 14 15).
The variability (CV) of the studied process parameters ranged from 1.2% 108.3%.
Buffer analyte chemistry and charcoal mixing duration had CV less than 3 % (Range
1.2% 2.6%) and showed very little variation. The starting volume, volume post
diafiltration and final volume post aseptic filtration had CV ranges from 9.6% 11.1 %
indicating that the variability of plasma volume at three important stages of the
process was not high. Process parameters during diafiltration such as volumetric
concentration factor (VCF), membrane protein loading, process flux and number of
buffer exchanges had CV values between 11.6 % and 21.1 %. The throughput
(volume filtered per filter) for all filter types (M10, M90, Keystone, bag filters and
0.2 Вµm filters) exhibited variability (CV) in the range of 24.9 % to 47.8 %. Freeze
duration post Aresoil addition, freeze duration post Aerosil removal and mix duration
post Aerosil addition, all three factors involved with the delipidation showed
variability greater than 30% (range 30.7% 108.3 %).
The in process parameters were analyzed for trends by plotting time series graph

My dad used to tell me all the time that we are all a work in progress. At the time I
didn t know exactly know what he meant. As years have passed on and my
relationship with Christ matured, I now know what he meant. We as children of
God can never be perfect, but what we can do is strive to be like Christ, this is what
the definition of a Christian is, Christ like . I try to share the good news of Jesus, and
when I do I like to talk to people about God s Grace and through his son Jesus there

God . In many circles, it is theological defined as God s unmerited favor (Hughes,

One example of a time that I truly experienced God s grace was a time that I ran
out of gas. I was on the way home from work and decided to get gas near home
instead of closer to work, because the prices were lower. As I was turning into the
gas station parking lot my SUV started puttering and staled. Instead of freaking out,
I calmly asked God to allow my SUV to start up to get to the first pump. On the first
try my SUV started right up just so I could get to the pump. I love just thanking him
for the good things in life but also still thanking him and praising him when things are

Theological Definition
The next important topic I want to talk about is condemnation. Now what is
condemnation? Webster s definition of condemnation is this: an act of judicially
condemning. Condemnation to me means not only condemning someone, but also
condemning ourselves, because of sins we have committed. Romans 8:1 says this
So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. What is
this saying? Through Jesus we do not have to feel guilty for the wrong we have
done. Jesus has already paid for our sins through his sacrifice. Justification is a term
that goes with both condemnation and grace. Justification is defined in the Praxis
the assigned book for Theo 104. Justification is an act of God s free grace, wherein
He pardoned all our sins, and accepted us as righteous in His sight, only for the

Essay about Shaping My Morality
G .K. Chesterton quoted, I say that a man must be certain of his morality for the
simple reason that he has to suffer for it, and although I do not completely
understood my own morality, I know I did not create it alone. For example, my
parents illustrated the importance of kindness and finding my own personal beliefs
about God. Additionally, my friends have taught me to not take small problems too
seriously. Moreover, attending private school has caused me to trust in the safety of
the world around me. As a teenager, my outward influences have greatly affected my

Having political discussions with my father helped me form my political beliefs
because he forced me to contemplate major issues and what makes a candidate a
moral person. Furthermore, my parents have encouraged me to develop my own
views about God and what morals He wants his people to follow, which has caused
me to further contemplate my own morals. Because of my parents open mindedness
concerning religion, I have come to the conclusion that I can find God s values and
mission through individual prayer. My friends, like my parents, have altered my
morals and the way I look at life. For example, when I missed a major Irish dance
competition due to an enlarged spleen, my friends all signed a heart shaped pillow
with kind notes about why they liked me. Their generosity taught me that showing
my affection towards others could turn a tough situation around for the better. In
addition, at the tender age of six, my best friend Leah passed away unexpectedly
from Leukemia. This experience taught me to never take a day for granted because
I learned how fast life can be taken away. Furthermore, whenever upcoming tests or
projects at school overwhelm me my friends at dance will make fun of me until I
realize the insignificance of all my anxiety. With my friends help, I have been
reminded that I should never take life too seriously.

Enoxaparin is a highly acidic mucopolysaccharide. It is an anticoagulant drug that is
used primarily for prophylaxis of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or for patients that
exhibit pulmonary embolism (PE) that have underwent specific surgery. Enoxaparin
functions as a serine type endopeptidase inhibitor and targets antithrombin III. It
binds to it and creates a vertex that irreversibly inactivates clotting factor Xa.
Enoxaparin binding to antithrombin III also accelerates the activity of antithrombin
III which is a serine protease inhibitor that modulates the activation of blood
coagulation. Enoxaparin inhibits the production of prothrombin to thrombin.
Antithrombin III inhibits thrombin, factors Xa, IXa, and XIa, as well as matripatase
3/TMPRSS7. With the presence of enoxaparin its inhibitory activity is increased
greatly. With the Xa being catalyzed by the attachment of enoxaparin, the translation
of prothrombin to thrombin is decreased.
Characterizing Pagan Religions Essays

Paganism is that Paganism is a religion of place or a native religion, for example
the Native American s religion is Pagan, and also Hinduism is one religion within

Paganism is a religion of nature, in other words Pagans feel deep respect for

The history of a particular subject, people, profession or any phenomenon provides
a record of events which took place in the past to enable us to appreciate the status,
strengths and weaknesses of the events which took place in the past. This serves as
a guide to others so as not to fall into the pitfalls of predecessors. A lot of researchers
have documented these in the past and they are given in their own words. A summary

Extension activities were therefore directed towards increasing efficiency in crop
production and marketing. Regulations were made to set and enforce standards in
export crop production.
The colonial government also established some agricultural development schemes
to upgrade the skills of farmers and to produce agricultural commodities. The
Kware irrigation scheme was established in 1926. It was situated 16miles or 25.74
kilometres north of Sokoto town. Its purposes were to increase rice yields and
provide experimental data on production under severe drought during dry season
and flooding during the rains. The scheme started with 1000 acres or 405 hectares
involving 800 farmers with farms situated along the river banks. The irrigation
scheme employed the shadoof which is an ancient Egyptian technique, also used
by the Sudanese. The scheme did not attain much of its objectives because (a) the
irrigation scheme (shardoof) was inadequate on large farms; (b) it is a slow technique
of irrigation; (c) it was difficult to collect cost of services from users; (d) in 1943,
1945 and 1954, river Rima over flooded and washed away most of the rice crop; and
(e) use of manure was not popular among the farmers.
The colonial period also witnessed the establishment of the Niger Agricultural project
in 1949 with the aims of producing groundnut

Ethical Implications Of The Finance Industry
In one s professional career one might be in a situation to consider not only the
ramifications of one s ethical choice, but also how ethical one s decision is as a
whole. In my career, I have never been put in an ethical dilemma, but at a juncture
in my career in the finance industry, it is possible I will. In the industry of finance,
one could be in a position that enables them to embezzle, whether this is in an
accounting position, a financial advisor, or even a bank teller. In each of these
positions, one could be in a dilemma of considering embezzling, otherwise known
as stealing. To most people stealing is clearly unethical, but it could depend upon to
which ethical approach one subscribes. This paper will discuss; what options one
has in this dilemma, how certain ethical approaches would guide one s decision,
and my personal opinion on which approach I would utilize. Firstly, if one takes
the approach of egoism, one would consider whatever was best for oneself,
whatever benefited them (Newman, 2015). The individual would construe that they
would be better off with the money, that they need it. However, it could also be in
the best interest of the user of this philosophy to decide not to embezzle because of
fear of being fired or conviction of a crime. A type of ethic does not dictate certain
results; with the use of any philosophy or ethical code you may have different results.
However, the approaches of common good and utilitarianism offer a different
outcome than

Tectonic Plates and its Effects on the Physical Face of the Earth
For millions of years, tectonic plates have been determinate of changes in the physical
face of the earth, and they continue to do so today. These massive plates move
underneath the surfaces of the oceans and the continents, producing earthquakes,
volcanoes and uplifts. This paper will discuss the composition, movement and history
of tectonic plates, the theory of plate tectonics and its history, and tectonic plates
affect the surface of the earth today and will continue to do so in the future.
The earth is divided into three main layers: the core, the mantle and the crust. The
core is further divided into the solid inner core and the liquid outer core. This layer is

Conversely, the Western banks of South America show evidence of convergent plate
boundary, where the plates are pushing and moving towards one another, in this case
the Nazca and South American Plates. The last type of boundary is a transition,
which is illustrated by the San Andreas Fault in California. In this case, the edges of
the plate are sliding past each other.
Tracking the movement of the plates is often done by tracking the distance
between two objects on different plates. This allows geologists to see how far the
plates have moved towards or away from each other. Unfortunately this does not
allow for absolute tracking of a single plate. With the advent of GPS or Global
Positioning System, geologists can use satellites to track the absolute position of a
plate. There are currently 21 satellites being used by the United States, and each of
these can be and are being used to track plate locations and movements. This is still
a relatively new technology and will most likely be used more and more as the
science is perfected.
The theory of plate tectonics suggests that the surface of the earth is broken into
massive plates and these plates slowly drift towards and away from each other. When
the edges of these plates meet, they produce intense activity, marked by earthquakes
and other geological events. The plate tectonics theory is a combination of two other
theories: continental drift and sea floor spreading.
Cognitive Dissonance Theory Essay
Cognitive Dissonance Theory
Leon Festinger shared his brilliance with the world when he, opposing all previous
psychological behaviorist work, created the Cognitive Dissonance Theory. In his
own words, he quickly sums up this quite complex theory: If you change a person s
behavior, his thoughts and feelings will change to minimize the dissonance
(Groenveld, 1999, p.1). In order to decode this dense statement, we must first be
aware that Festinger held to be true that humans have a deep abiding need in their
psyche to be consistent in our attitudes and behaviors; we want to feel in agreement
and unified in thought and action. Inner harmony sounds good to everyone, and so it
was Festinger s view that when we feel a disharmony, or ... Show more content on

Hmmm, I am getting a good education, having fun, and it s cheaper than most.
3. I can leave my college. My value for interesting classes is more important than
staying here.
The first two choices above involve the concept called selective exposure where I
expose myself only to beliefs that make my behavior seem congruent; I avoid
opposing thoughts in order to decrease dissonance. The third choice reaction to this
inconsistency is halting the behavior and keeping my original attitude s integrity.
This is a result of post decision dissonance, dissonance after the fact I decided I
would attend. I looked at what I d chosen and decided I did not like it enough to stay
with it.
Festinger s blanket statement of his theory still needs further explanation. When he
says, If you change a person s behavior, his thoughts and feelings will change to
minimize the dissonance (Groenveld, 1999), he is referring to not only selective
exposure and post decision dissonance but also to minimal justification. Minimal
justification predicts that if a person s actions can be changed, with very little
compensation, then the person, needing to eliminate the dissonance of behaving
against her beliefs for something infinitesimal, will change her attitude about the
situation. So, Festinger, through influential psychological experiments, has
successfully proven that if a small incentive is offered for a behavior change, a
significant attitudinal change is made whereas
The Mother Daughter Relationship in Amy Tan s The Joy...
The Joy Luck Club is a representation of the persistent tensions and powerful bonds
between mother and daughter in a Chinese American society. The book illustrates the
hardships both the mother and daughters go through in order to please the other.
Also, it shows the troubles the daughters face when growing up in two cultures. This
book reveals that most of the time mothers really do know best.
In Rules of the Game we see a mother daughter conflict. Waverly s mother is always

being exploited by her own mother because she was raised in a society with more
American influence than Chinese. In a Chinese society a woman s social standing is

Throughout all of the Jing Mei Woo stories Junehas to recall all of the memories of
what her mother had told her. She remembers how her mother left her babies
during the war. June s mother felt that since she had failed as a mother to her first
babies she had failed as a person. When she made June take piano lessons June
thought that she was trying to make her become a child prodigy like Waverly, but
her mother did this because she knew it would benefit June for the rest of her life.
Because of the death of her mother, June was forced to take the place of her mother
in more than just filling her place at the Maj Jong table. The mother daughter
tradition was broken because the lost babies were found after the death of their
mother. June s trip to China can be seen as the completion of her mother s promise to
return, honoring her sisters by attempting to transfer what she had absorbed from her
mother and her tradition.
And I think, My mother is right. I am becoming Chinese (Tan 306). This is what June

June with American, her mother with Chinese. This has kept the mother daughter
tradition alive but has also weakened it. This happens often, but there is always

The Benefits Of College Education
Eighty three percent of Americans who have taken an Edward Jones survey say
they cannot afford the expenses of a college education (Levaux). That leaves only
17% of Americans who say they can afford the expenses of college for themselves
or family members. That leaves millions of American who either will be in debt for
many years with student loans or millions of Americans who are not reaching their
potential. The proportion of new high schoolgraduates now appears to be declining.
College educationshould be free to all Americans who have graduated high school
and reached an eligible score on some kind of test that shows they are ready for
what is ahead. College will be accessible to all people regardless of money but
depending only on talent and intelligence. Millions of students will work hard
every day in high school but will not have a chance to get a degree. A lack of
money should not stop an individual from achieving success. If money is the only
reason for not attending college, then that is unfair and getting in the way of a
student trying to pursue his/her dreams. Also, the chances of a student dropping out
would be inferior. Low income students are six times more likely to drop out of high
school (Sikan). Making college tuition free would eliminate the reason for not
graduating. The reason for this is because families that do not have much money are
afraid to send their kid to college because of the huge payments that they will
encounter. So the student gives up

of not being able to hear his own art after a certain point in his life? What are the
stories that each one of his pieces portray about his life? What made Ludwig Van
Beethoventhe man we all know him as today!? Was he a prodigy directly from the
womb? No, but not too long after his birth his musical journey began. December
16th, 1770 in Bonn, Germany the musical genius was born and forever known as
Ludwig Van Beethoven. Beethoven was actually the 3rd Ludwig Van Beethoven in
his family. The first was his grandfather who was a well known musician in Bonn
and the 2nd Ludwig Van Beethoven was Beethoven s older brother who suddenly
died only six days after his birth. His father, Johann, was an extreme alcoholic and

William Randolph Hearst And Building Hearst Castle
Introduction: 28 years. According to California State Parks: Hearst Castle, that s
how long to took William Randolph Hearst to build Hearst Castle. Construction
began in 1919 and did not end till 1947. Hearst Castle is a museum like no other. It
is a 70,000 sq ft home that looks over the village of San Simeon, California. William

Spanish. The incredible work done to this castle portrays the amazing talents people
have. William Randolph Hearsthad a thought, and idea when he decided to build this
Castle and that thought has been constructed and portrayed in many different ways.
Body:
William Randolph Hearst was born April 29,1863 in San Francisco, California. His
father was a multimillionaire geologist who gained his wealth from the California
Gold Rush and his mother was one of the first women philanthropists in the United
States. William received the best education, but was frequently expelled from his
schools because of pulling pranks on teachers. He was even expelled from Harvard
for sending his professors engraved chamber pots. By the age of 16, his mother had
already taken him on 2 art tours. Hearst gained his love of art from his mother and
his ambition and energy from his father. In 1887, Hearst insisted that his father gives
him the San Francisco Examiner, a newspaper his father owned. When his father died,
he left everything to his wife and left Hearst with nothing, but when
The Conflict Between Logic And Passion In The Mayor Of...
Think with your head; follow your heart the conflict between logic and passion has
no definite solution. Nevertheless, in The Mayor of Casterbridge, author Thomas
Hardy proposes a clear answer to this eternal debate. Intermixed with all of the fate,
reputation, and wife auctioning in the novel, there exists a clear divide between logic
driven characters and those lead by passionate impulses. The fates of these
characters in addition to various symbols point to an absolute winner to the
everlasting conflict between logic and passion: logic. In the novel, Hardy uses the
demise of Lucetta Templeman, the bull, and the rise of Donald Farfrae to suggest
the danger of being compelled by passion. First and foremost, Lucetta does not act
upon what is logically sound, but rather upon what she feels, which in turn leads to
her death. Lucetta settled in Casterbridge with the sole intent of marrying Michael
Henchard, and the circumstances for their union were absolutely perfect: Susan died,
Lucetta gained the affection of Elizabeth Jane Newson, and a rendezvous was
meticulously planned. But then Donald walks through Lucetta s door. Subsequent to
a five minute conversation, Lucetta s plan to marry Michael is completely
obliterated, her heart long[ing] for Donald (Hardy 183). Although she swore to be
Michael s wife, she chose instead to marry Donald, whom she loved passionately
(198). Lucetta did not realize at the time however, that this rash, heart directed
decision would lead her to the grave. Her concealed love letters written to Michael
were publicly flaunted, the skimmington ride irreversibly tarnished her reputation,
and she died. Furthermore, Lucetta abandoned all previous sentiments, plans and
promises due to sudden affection for Donald. Her brain dictated that she follow
through with her pseudo engagement to Michael as promised, but she was deaf to
logic. She acted with passion and paid the consequences; marrying Donald cost her
life. Ultimately, through Lucetta s ardent decision to marry Donald and subsequent
demise, Hardy portrays the dangers of following one s heart. The brash actions and
downfall of the bull which threatened Lucetta and Elizabeth Jane further demonstrate
the adversity of being directed
Slave-Colonist Writings
How can a slave and colonist writings have a similar in a themes? That question is
important since how can a person compare both Olaudah Equiano and St. John de
Crevecouer work. One who was a slave in and wrote about what his experience

can be and how to treat everyone in the new world. On the face of the two writing
look to be only similar in that they talk about person experience in the new world
without going into the meaning of the work, then that is all they will. But once the

His is more of a light heart story for the most part. The part that going to be look at
is how Andrew is treat is and how native treats others. In de Crevecoeur writing
Andrew is the one shown to be a stranger to the people. With that all he can show

that a person with no history should be treated good. Why should any person treat
someone different base on a first meeting without every showing any reason not to?
This theme come again in Andrews meeting of the Native he does not treat them
the same as the people did. One the character question why Andrew did. Pacify
yourself, said Mr. P. R., my house is as safe with these people, as if I was there
myself; as for the victuals, they are heartily welcome, honest Andrew; (de

Feminism In English Literature
I will board a train and allow it to lead into a horizon I will not recognize .
The academic discipline of women s writing as a discreet area of literary studies is
based on the experiences, day to day happenings, historically been shaped by their
gender. These texts emerge from and intervene in conditions which are usually
different from those produced by men. Women novelists have incorporated the
recurring female experiences in their writings and it has affected the cultural and
language patterns of Indian literature. They have stylized pattern in the whole context
of Indian writing. Initial writings of Indian context gave priorities to male experience.
It later changed to a style where women wrote about their perceptions and experiences
within a domestic household. In the 18th century, there was a decline in woman
writing. The reformist movement and women s active participation against the
British rule in the 19th century paved way for a rebirth in the women s literature in
India. Over the years, the world of feminist ideologies showed influences in the
English literature in India.
Indian women are conditioned to a blind dependence on men and in a sense the
whole purpose of a woman s life is to live for him and not following her own
ambitions. She has to ensure the love of man for her existence. Women in a global
basis can be seen suffering and submitted to patriarchal power. According to Simone
de Beauvoir, a woman is a womb, an ovary, she is a female this word is

The geographic location of Moab is east of the Dead Sea and located southeast of
Bethlehem which is all located in the ancient middle east. Noami and Ruth are
both from the land of Moab, which makes Moab a very significance to their
characters. The very location of Moab is not nesesarily important, but rather the
history of Moab. Moab is region that is founded upon sin. The land was founded by
Moab who is a son of Lot that was in result of incest with his daughters. War and
bloody battles are also very rampant between Moab and Israel, which often makes
Moab the enemy in the eyes of Israel. Animosity is common between the two
nations of Moab and Israel and is often revealed in scripture. In Deuteronomy, it
states that Moabites are forbidden to enter any sacred temples or synagogues
(Deuteronomy 23:3). In other history, people often went to find mystics from
Moab in order to curse and bring suffering to people. As Elimelech moves his
family from Bethlehem to Moab, he reveals many characteristics about his attitude
and it also serves as symbolic revelation for the reader. Not only is the act of fleeing
from Bethlehem is against the commands of God, but Elimelech also travels to a land
of his enemies. Within the story, Elimelech dies of some unknown cause, which is
quite apparent of his consequences. The fact that both Elimelech s sons marry
Moabite women show that their family was very

When she is first introduced in the 2003 film Finding Nemo, she immediately forgets
what she is doing, who she is talking to, and what she was talking about. She can
hold most of the new information for a few seconds, but as soon as there is a lull in

They had concerns about Dory s survival ability and did their best to prepare her
for life. They laid out seashells in a path to their home, taught her songs about
survival, and made her rehearse her catchphrase I suffer from short term memory

and father still feared for her future. One scene showed them talking late at night,
with her mother in tears, asking, Do you think she s... that she can make it on her
own? (Stanton and MacLane, 2016). As if to prove her mother s point, while
attempting to bring a purple shell to her parents, Dory is swept away by the
undertow and taken out to sea. Her parents must then rely on the hope that their
teaching and rehearsing survival mechanisms would be enough to keep her alive
until they can be reunited. They spend the next several years building a new home
with shell paths to wait for her. Dr. Baxendale pointed out, the frustration of the fish
around her with her constant repetition accurately reflects the feelings of people
who live with amnesic patients (BBC, 2004). Her parents loved her, but trying to
take care of an amnesic child is stressful, as the film showed. Jenny and Charlie

Pitchfork Ranch, By The Same Family For More Than A
Century
PITCHFORK RANCH The Pitchfork Ranch is one of the most historic ranches in
west Texas. The Pitchfork Ranch has been owned by the same family for more than
a century. On December 13, 1883 the Pitchfork Ranch was bought with 52,500 acres
of land in west Texas. It was started with 9,750 head of cattle. It s the only ranchin
west Texas that didn t have to downsize during the Great Depression. Today the
Pitchfork Ranch is spread over 162,000 acres in west Texas. It spreads over
Dickens and King Counties (Nordyke). This paper will discuss various topics
about the Pitchfork Ranch, from the history of it to how they work their horses,
cattle, and everyday maintaining the ranch. The Pitchfork Ranch has many
different kinds of income. Its main income comes from cattle, but they also have
mineral rights to the land and they just recently started drilling oil. They also have
500 acres of farmland which they sale some of the crops but they mainly use it to
feed the cattle crop every year. They also have a feedlot at the ranch headquarters.
The feedlot is a necessity because they have over 5,000 head of calves every year,
and it s a lot more economical to feed them out on the ranch, instead of selling them
for a lower price whenever they re younger (Ranch). The Pitchfork has been in
operation over one hundred years, and it has only been through seven ranch
managers. The current ranch manager is Bob Moorehouse, he has been the manager
since 1987. I love this way of life, there is

The Place Of Phonics In Learning To Read
The contrasting perspectives of the two passages, CliffsTestPrep by Jerry Bobrow
(2006) and The Place of Phonics in Learning to Read and Write by Marie Emmitt
(2013), address the issue of the importance of phonemic awareness in reading and
writing scores. Bobrow believes that phonemic awareness is important to understand
since it affects readingscores. Emmitt however, argues that there is no evidence that
phonemic awareness has a major impact on reading achievement. Bobrow discusses
the importance of phonemic awareness. Bobrow states that phonemic awareness is
important for reading achievement and learning how to read. According to Bobrow,
students need to be able to grasp printed words (para.3) and know how words work

Reflection-In-Action Vs Reflection In Action
Reflection in action and reflection on action are similar but yet different in some
ways. Reflection in action is reflecting on the work being done while the individual
is doing the action and the decisions being made while the action is being done.
Reflection on action is the reflection after the action has been done to analyze if the
action was successful or unsuccessful (Reflection, 2010). Furthermore, and while in
practice 111, we will apply reflective practice as we work with clients to reflect on
their problems, goals, and motivations. Reflecting will allow the social worker and
the client to understand what is causing the problem, how the problem occurred, and
ways in which the problem can be resolved. During practice 111 students will
participate in an evidence based planned change project that will involve students to
accompany a client, assess the client, identify goals, intervention, and evaluation.

The challenges include being too descriptive, writing style, honesty, and disclosure
(Reflection, 2010). The challenge of being too descriptive involves being too
descriptive when talking about one stage in the assessment while not elaborating
on the other. Additionally, the writing style of an individual becomes a challenge
as the writing needs to be both personalized and a style of academic writing, which
can become challenging. Another challenge that arises in reflective writing is
honesty. Honesty becomes a challenge in reflective writing, as the student may feel
obligated to think a certain way or conform to a set of morals or beliefs due to it
being academic writing. Lastly, a challenge in reflective writing is disclosure.
Disclosure presents as a challenge in reflective writing as the individual being
assessed may feel pressured to open up when they do not feel comfortable out of the
fear of being judged. All of these challenges can alter the assessment

Effects Of Divorce Essay. 014 Print Phpapp02 Thumbnail Cause And Effect Essay On Divorce Thatsnotus

  • 1. Effects Of Divorce Essay Crafting an essay on the effects of divorce is undoubtedly a challenging task that requires a delicate balance between empathy and objectivity. Delving into the intricate web of emotions, psychological repercussions, and societal impacts demands a thorough understanding of human relationships and the complexities that surround divorce. One of the primary challenges lies in navigating the myriad perspectives on this subject. The effects of divorce vary significantly from person to person, encompassing emotional, financial, and psychological dimensions. Attempting to capture this diversity while presenting a cohesive narrative can be daunting. It necessitates a nuanced approach that recognizes the individuality of each case while identifying overarching patterns and trends. Furthermore, the research involved in such an essay requires a careful examination of psychological studies, sociological analyses, and personal accounts. Synthesizing this information into a coherent and well-structured argument demands both time and intellectual rigor. Balancing statistical evidence with real-life stories adds depth to the essay, but it also requires a skillful touch to avoid overwhelming the reader with data. Addressing the sensitive nature of the topic is another layer of complexity. The effects of divorce are deeply personal and can evoke strong emotions in both the writer and the audience. Striking a balance between a compassionate exploration of the human experience and maintaining an academic tone is crucial. It requires a delicate touch to discuss the profound emotional turmoil without descending into sentimentality or losing the academic rigor expected in an essay. In conclusion, writing an essay on the effects of divorce is a formidable undertaking that requires a keen understanding of human relationships, extensive research, and a delicate balance between empathy and objectivity. Successfully navigating these challenges can lead to a compelling and insightful exploration of a complex and deeply impactful societal phenomenon. If you find yourself needing assistance with similar essays or any other academic writing tasks, services like HelpWriting.net can provide expert guidance and support. • 2. Sex Education in the U.S. and Japan Essay How much sexual knowledge adults should give to adolescents has been discussed for decades to decrease teenage pregnancy and sex related diseases. According to The National Campaign to prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy (2013), the U.S. has the highest rate of teenage pregnancy among developed countries, and about sixty eight girls per thousand became pregnant in 2008. To change this situation, the U.S. provides two kinds of sex education: abstinence only sex educationand comprehensive sex education. In contrast, Japan has one of the lowest rates among developed countries. Summing up the birth and abortion dates, at least 34,220 girls became pregnant in 2011 (Japanese Ministry of Health, 2011). Even though Japan has less teen... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It has three features. First, it has been supported by the federal government since 1981 (Santelli, Ott, Lyon, Rogers, Summers, Schelifer, 2006). Especially since 1996, the governmental support has become stronger and has provided a lot of money to the organizations which support abstinence only sex education. For example, according to the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation (2002), the federal government provided about $135 million to the family planning programs that support abstinence only sex education in 2001. However, instead of giving the strong financial support, the government set the detailed definitions of abstinence only sex education and restricted other information (Santelli, Ott, Lyon, Rogers, Summers, Schelifer, 2006). Secondly, this program believes that abstinence until marriage is the best way to protect a teenager s health physically and psychologically. Therefore, in the program, students learn that being abstinent until marriage is the only way to protect them from becoming pregnant and having sex between adolescents is harmful physically and psychologically. They tend to approach their students from the psychological aspect, since there are actually no scientific date which suggests having sex between adolescents are physically harmful (Santelli, Ott, Lyon, Rogers, Summers, Schelifer, 2006). Thirdly, teaching about contraception is forbidden because it argues that this increases the
  • 3. The Giant Panda Research Paper The zoo, as an institution, has changed and evolved over thousands of years of human history. And while zoological gardens have improved immensely, and now appear to have a greater purpose than its predecessors, it has always, and still is, generating an active debate over its existence. The zoo can be looked at from several different angles. The zooholds itself as a conservation community, research oriented for captive breeding, and an educational center for young minds. All the while working in the entertainment industry and running their facilities like a business. They contradict themselves with those different aspects, yet they still manage to somehow find justification for each. The Giant Panda, known in the scientific community as
  • 4. America Never Was America Again By Langston Hughes Has America ever been great, of the 239 years this influential country has been a country has it ever been truly great and free? As Langston Hughes exclaimed, America never was America to me . Learned Hand and Langston Hughes had differences on their thought on the topic of Liberty and whether America is great. Hughes and Hands opinion of Libertyhas changed the way the common man reacts to racism and the way we perceive America s greatness. America is arguably the most robust country and yet it also one of many countries where we are not all free. In the poem Let America Be America Again Langston Hughes shows his opinion of America and declared that America has never been great and never will be if there is varied equality among the ethnics and their social classes. Learned Hand announced That spirit of an American which has never been, and may never be; nay, which never will be except as the conscience and courage of Americas create it , her he feels that America is only as good as the common people in it, therefore, Americas future lies in our hands and the way we use it. Both Langston Hughes and Learned Hand presumed that America has never been great yet, Hand is unsure on whether America has the potential to change their ways but, Langston Hughes let out his emotions exclaiming America never was America to me, and yet I swear this oath America will be! These two Americans have shown how they feel and believe that we can only be a magnificent country if we believe

  • 6. Making My Fashion Dreams Become A Reality Growing up surrounded by historical landmarks, creative arts, and Southern charm, I have always been an admirer of fashion and beauty. When I was a young child of five years, I would continually play dress up and dream of becoming a Fashionista that assists movie stars and social elite for their red carpet appearances. I wanted to contribute to others in seeing the beauty in themselves and the world around them. After about eighteen years, nothing has really changed within my mind set. Today, I still dream of working in the fashionindustry, but more importantly, making a difference in the world. In the process of making my fashion dreams become a reality, at seventeen, I secured enrollment at Northeast MississippiCommunity College majoring in fashion merchandising. My first two years at junior college were wonderful, and I thoroughly enjoyed participating in the arts, being the Captain of the Tiger Dancers and Pom Squad, playing as a member of the tennis team, and supporting Prentiss county as Miss Hospitality 2013. These years taught me time management like no other while also leading me down the path of self expression and competitiveness. Finding immense knowledge and encouragement from professors in little classrooms and civilians in a small Mississippi town perfected my willingness to strive to do my utmost best in every circumstance, whether it be reaching my goals or helping others. Attending Northeast Mississippi Community College opened for me a world of

  • 8. Henry V Theme Of War Known as one of the greatest warrior kings in all of English history, Henry V has left a hefty impression. In Shakespeare s play of the same name, the monarch battles literally with France for the throne and figuratively with accountability and being a just ruler and conqueror. Through the story, we can see the values Henry holds and how the real implications of war aren t something the king cannot deal with in a proper manner. The debate between King Henry and the common soldiers like Williams and Bates illustrate fundamental problems with Henry s rule and asks important questions about the motives behind war itself. In Act 4, Scene 1 of Shakespeare s Henry V, the king does incognito in a cloak to interact with the everyman of his army. This... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He ignores the responsibility of the king for putting all these lives in danger. He denies the fault of the king for waging the war, and instead deflects the blame onto the will of God. Basically, his response to the soldiers is that they must be spiritually prepared when they go into battle because the king is not responsible for their deaths. This is a believe that is horribly ignorant and unfair to the people who might actually lose their lives. When the king conquers the French port on the mouth of the Seine, he insults them and states that God is on their side. Eventually, he implies that the French should feel badly for being responsible for the death of their many citizens at the hands of English. However, the same doesn t apply for himself when he could be leading his men to their deaths. This might be because he thinks God s favor lies with England but it is of course foolish and hypocritical to believe this. Using religion as a shield is a method Henry uses throughout the play, stating the kingdom of England has God on their side on multiple occasions. This aversion of guilt continually demonstrates Henry s doubt in himself and fragile

In this laboratory, 17 monkeys were held in small wired cages with feces and urine that have accumulated over several years. The experiment was run by a Psychologist named Edward Taub who had no previous medical training. The monkeys would be subjected to many spinal surgeries that would cause one or more of their limbs to become useless. For instance, one scene in which a group of Nazi officials murder a sheep operates metaphorically to link Christianity to communism while simultaneously equating the fascists with butchers of the innocent. It is an anticoagulant drug that is used primarily for prophylaxis of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or for patients that exhibit pulmonary embolism (PE) that have underwent specific surgery. Enoxaparin functions as a serine type endopeptidase inhibitor and targets antithrombin III. It binds to it and creates a vertex that irreversibly inactivates clotting factor Xa. Enoxaparin binding to antithrombin III also accelerates the activity of antithrombin III which is a serine protease inhibitor that modulates the activation of blood coagulation. Enoxaparin inhibits the production of prothrombin to thrombin. Antithrombin III inhibits thrombin, factors Xa, IXa, and XIa, as well as matripatase 3/TMPRSS7. With the presence of enoxaparin its inhibitory activity is increased greatly. With the Xa being catalyzed by the attachment of enoxaparin, the translation of prothrombin to thrombin is decreased.

Extension activities were therefore directed towards increasing efficiency in crop production and marketing. Regulations were made to set and enforce standards in export crop production. The colonial government also established some agricultural development schemes to upgrade the skills of farmers and to produce agricultural commodities. The Kware irrigation scheme was established in 1926. It was situated 16miles or 25.74 kilometres north of Sokoto town. Its purposes were to increase rice yields and provide experimental data on production under severe drought during dry season and flooding during the rains. The scheme started with 1000 acres or 405 hectares involving 800 farmers with farms situated along the river banks. The irrigation scheme employed the shadoof which is an ancient Egyptian technique, also used by the Sudanese. The scheme did not attain much of its objectives because (a) the irrigation scheme (shardoof) was inadequate on large farms; (b) it is a slow technique of irrigation; (c) it was difficult to collect cost of services from users; (d) in 1943, 1945 and 1954, river Rima over flooded and washed away most of the rice crop; and (e) use of manure was not popular among the farmers. The colonial period also witnessed the establishment of the Niger Agricultural project in 1949 with the aims of producing groundnut

Ethical Implications Of The Finance Industry In one s professional career one might be in a situation to consider not only the ramifications of one s ethical choice, but also how ethical one s decision is as a whole. In my career, I have never been put in an ethical dilemma, but at a juncture in my career in the finance industry, it is possible I will. In the industry of finance, one could be in a position that enables them to embezzle, whether this is in an accounting position, a financial advisor, or even a bank teller. In each of these positions, one could be in a dilemma of considering embezzling, otherwise known as stealing. To most people stealing is clearly unethical, but it could depend upon to which ethical approach one subscribes. This paper will discuss; what options one has in this dilemma, how certain ethical approaches would guide one s decision, and my personal opinion on which approach I would utilize. Firstly, if one takes the approach of egoism, one would consider whatever was best for oneself, whatever benefited them (Newman, 2015). The individual would construe that they would be better off with the money, that they need it. However, it could also be in the best interest of the user of this philosophy to decide not to embezzle because of fear of being fired or conviction of a crime. A type of ethic does not dictate certain results; with the use of any philosophy or ethical code you may have different results. However, the approaches of common good and utilitarianism offer a different outcome than

Conversely, the Western banks of South America show evidence of convergent plate boundary, where the plates are pushing and moving towards one another, in this case the Nazca and South American Plates. The last type of boundary is a transition, which is illustrated by the San Andreas Fault in California. In this case, the edges of the plate are sliding past each other. Tracking the movement of the plates is often done by tracking the distance between two objects on different plates. This allows geologists to see how far the plates have moved towards or away from each other. Unfortunately this does not allow for absolute tracking of a single plate. With the advent of GPS or Global Positioning System, geologists can use satellites to track the absolute position of a plate. There are currently 21 satellites being used by the United States, and each of these can be and are being used to track plate locations and movements. This is still a relatively new technology and will most likely be used more and more as the science is perfected. The theory of plate tectonics suggests that the surface of the earth is broken into massive plates and these plates slowly drift towards and away from each other. When the edges of these plates meet, they produce intense activity, marked by earthquakes and other geological events. The plate tectonics theory is a combination of two other theories: continental drift and sea floor spreading.

Cognitive Dissonance Theory Essay Cognitive Dissonance Theory Leon Festinger shared his brilliance with the world when he, opposing all previous psychological behaviorist work, created the Cognitive Dissonance Theory. In his own words, he quickly sums up this quite complex theory: If you change a person s behavior, his thoughts and feelings will change to minimize the dissonance (Groenveld, 1999, p.1). In order to decode this dense statement, we must first be aware that Festinger held to be true that humans have a deep abiding need in their psyche to be consistent in our attitudes and behaviors; we want to feel in agreement and unified in thought and action. Inner harmony sounds good to everyone, and so it was Festinger s view that when we feel a disharmony, or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first two choices above involve the concept called selective exposure where I expose myself only to beliefs that make my behavior seem congruent; I avoid opposing thoughts in order to decrease dissonance. The third choice reaction to this inconsistency is halting the behavior and keeping my original attitude s integrity. This is a result of post decision dissonance, dissonance after the fact I decided I would attend. I looked at what I d chosen and decided I did not like it enough to stay with it. Festinger s blanket statement of his theory still needs further explanation. When he says, If you change a person s behavior, his thoughts and feelings will change to minimize the dissonance (Groenveld, 1999), he is referring to not only selective exposure and post decision dissonance but also to minimal justification. Minimal justification predicts that if a person s actions can be changed, with very little compensation, then the person, needing to eliminate the dissonance of behaving against her beliefs for something infinitesimal, will change her attitude about the situation. So, Festinger, through influential psychological experiments, has successfully proven that if a small incentive is offered for a behavior change, a significant attitudinal change is made whereas

Also, the chances of a student dropping out would be inferior. Low income students are six times more likely to drop out of high school (Sikan). • 43. The Conflict Between Logic And Passion In The Mayor Of... Think with your head; follow your heart the conflict between logic and passion has no definite solution. Nevertheless, in The Mayor of Casterbridge, author Thomas Hardy proposes a clear answer to this eternal debate. Intermixed with all of the fate, reputation, and wife auctioning in the novel, there exists a clear divide between logic driven characters and those lead by passionate impulses. The fates of these characters in addition to various symbols point to an absolute winner to the everlasting conflict between logic and passion: logic. In the novel, Hardy uses the demise of Lucetta Templeman, the bull, and the rise of Donald Farfrae to suggest the danger of being compelled by passion. First and foremost, Lucetta does not act upon what is logically sound, but rather upon what she feels, which in turn leads to her death. Lucetta settled in Casterbridge with the sole intent of marrying Michael Henchard, and the circumstances for their union were absolutely perfect: Susan died, Lucetta gained the affection of Elizabeth Jane Newson, and a rendezvous was meticulously planned. But then Donald walks through Lucetta s door. Subsequent to a five minute conversation, Lucetta s plan to marry Michael is completely obliterated, her heart long[ing] for Donald (Hardy 183). Although she swore to be Michael s wife, she chose instead to marry Donald, whom she loved passionately (198). Lucetta did not realize at the time however, that this rash, heart directed decision would lead her to the grave. Her concealed love letters written to Michael were publicly flaunted, the skimmington ride irreversibly tarnished her reputation, and she died. Furthermore, Lucetta abandoned all previous sentiments, plans and promises due to sudden affection for Donald. Her brain dictated that she follow through with her pseudo engagement to Michael as promised, but she was deaf to logic. She acted with passion and paid the consequences; marrying Donald cost her life. Ultimately, through Lucetta s ardent decision to marry Donald and subsequent demise, Hardy portrays the dangers of following one s heart. The brash actions and downfall of the bull which threatened Lucetta and Elizabeth Jane further demonstrate the adversity of being directed

Women novelists have incorporated the recurring female experiences in their writings and it has affected the cultural and language patterns of Indian literature. It later changed to a style where women wrote about their perceptions and experiences within a domestic household. In the 18th century, there was a decline in woman writing. The reformist movement and women s active participation against the British rule in the 19th century paved way for a rebirth in the women s literature in India. Over the years, the world of feminist ideologies showed influences in the English literature in India. She has difficulty retaining new information in her short term memory. When she is first introduced in the 2003 film Finding Nemo, she immediately forgets what she is doing, who she is talking to, and what she was talking about. They spend the next several years building a new home with shell paths to wait for her. Dr. Baxendale pointed out, the frustration of the fish around her with her constant repetition accurately reflects the feelings of people who live with amnesic patients (BBC, 2004). Her parents loved her, but trying to take care of an amnesic child is stressful, as the film showed. Jenny and Charlie chose to hope that their daughter would be safe and come back to them, but their fears for her were also taking their

This paper will discuss various topics about the Pitchfork Ranch, from the history of it to how they work their horses, cattle, and everyday maintaining the ranch. The Pitchfork Ranch has many different kinds of income. Its main income comes from cattle, but they also have mineral rights to the land and they just recently started drilling oil. They also have 500 acres of farmland which they sale some of the crops but they mainly use it to feed the cattle crop every year. They also have a feedlot at the ranch headquarters. The feedlot is a necessity because they have over 5,000 head of calves every year, and it s a lot more economical to feed them out on the ranch, instead of selling them for a lower price whenever they re younger (Ranch).
