1. English Essays
Crafting an essay on the subject of "English Essays" can be a challenging endeavor, requiring a
delicate balance of creativity, critical analysis, and linguistic precision. At its core, the task
involves navigating through the vast landscape of English literature, language, and composition,
synthesizing complex ideas, and presenting them in a coherent and compelling manner.
One of the primary challenges lies in selecting a specific angle or theme to explore within the
broad spectrum of English studies. With such a vast array of topics to choose from, ranging from
literary analysis and historical context to linguistic theories and cultural perspectives, narrowing
down the focus can be a daunting task in itself. Moreover, delving into any of these areas
requires a deep understanding of the subject matter and proficiency in research skills to gather
relevant sources and evidence to support the arguments presented.
Furthermore, the process of writing itself poses its own set of hurdles. Crafting well-structured
paragraphs, ensuring logical flow and coherence, and maintaining a consistent tone and style
throughout the essay demand meticulous attention to detail and constant revision. Additionally,
grappling with the nuances of language—whether it be syntax, vocabulary choice, or rhetorical
devices—adds another layer of complexity to the writing process.
Moreover, while writing an essay on "English Essays," one must also be mindful of the diverse
audience it may attract. Balancing accessibility for readers unfamiliar with the topic while still
providing depth and insight for those well-versed in the subject matter requires finesse and
adaptability in communication.
In conclusion, tackling the task of writing an essay on "English Essays" entails navigating
through a labyrinth of ideas, concepts, and literary works while honing one's analytical, research,
and writing skills. It demands both intellectual rigor and creative flair to produce a piece that is
not only informative but also engaging and thought-provoking.

It is a process of establishing a business organization for provision of goods and
services, creation of jobs, and contribution to economic development ( Bilic, Prka, and

opportunity for individuals to achieve financial independence and benefit the
economy by contributing to job creation, innovation, and economic growth. Ma and
Tan (2006), defined entrepreneurship as a generator of national prosperity and
competitiveness. Entrepreneurship intention is the state of mind of an individual to
foster creativity in a business venture (Rasli, Khan, Malekitfar, and Jabeen, 2013).
Developing entrepreneurial mind among school students enable them to easily fit
into the world of work after graduation. The increasing human population of many
nations has continued to create a serious challenge to government and employers of
labour. Most industries have resorted to employing the best among numerous

industries pay serious attention to workers who can apply their entrepreneurial skills

4. Change In Jack London s Into The Wild
Buck, a dog that went from a fast wagging tail to a savage, prodromal, wild beast.
He was a dog that ran freely on his land, ruling everyone and everything. Then he
was taken. He was brought to the Yukon Valley and kept there. For a while, he
fought the primal instincts bubbling up inside of him, trying to hold onto his last
memories of home. Then he just let go and grasped the strong pull of the wild. The
poem relates to Buck s journey most when it shows how the wild is pulling and
chafing at Buck s domestication. Chafing at custom s chain (London 1) in this book
is explaining the part where Buck is fighting to keep the domestic urge inside him
alive. This poem also shows relation to Buck travels before his change. It infers that
when he is living with the Judge s his real self, his primal self, is sleeping. This poem
reflects on Buck s journey to the Yukon showing when his sleeping primal self, it also
shows fighting his instincts, and his transformation into the wilderness.
Buck first starts out at a peaceful place he called home.Buck spent his days lying by
Judge Miller s feet in front of the flickering flames in his fireplace and running

instincts bubbling up inside his confused brain. London describes this perfectly in
his poem, Old longings nomadic leap chafing at customs chain (London 1) This is
showing the hardships Buck is going through, not so much physically but
mentally. Buck feels as if he is still living in society s norm so he wants to stay as he
used to. However, he doesn t realize that there is a new norm, the wild. Buck is
starting to be treated like a primal dog so he can t help but start to act like

Abstract Fluorescent properties are used to study protein and small molecule
interactions. Fluorescent spectrophotometry determined the excitation wavelength of
eosin isothiocyanate to be 525 nm and its emission wavelength was 545 nm.
Glycogen phosphorylase was similarly studied. The excitation wavelength was 330
nm and the emission wavelength was 360 nm. The emission wavelength could be
indicative of the presence of the fluorophore, tryptophan. The potential interaction
between bovine serum albumin (BSA) and 1 anilino 8 naphthalene sulfonic acid
(ANS) was studied through fluorescenceand fluorescence resonance energy transfer
(FRET). BSA had an emission wavelength of 358 nm which could also be indicative
of a tryptophan. When BSA and ANS were mixed together, the emission wavelength
was longer suggesting that the molecules interact with each other and follow FRET.
Introduction
Fluorescence spectroscopy is a useful technique to determine the proteins and nucleic
acids of a macromolecule. Some molecules, fluorophores, can absorb light at certain
wavelengths and then emit it at another wavelength. When the molecule absorbs light
it is excitation and the light released is emission. The light particles, photons, hit a
fluorophore to excite the molecule (Voet et. al 2013). Excitation occurs by the
valence electrons of the molecule receiving energy and moving to a higher energy
state from the ground state. The excited electrons will later return to the ground state
because they
6. Student Loan Crisis Is A Crisis
Seventy percent of college graduates left school with almost thirty thousand dollars
in student loans. (Johnson, Student Loans ) There is currently a debate about
whether or not student loans are a crisis or if this crisis is just a myth. In the article,
Here s Your Crisis:
Student Loan Debt Isn t A Myth, it describes how student loans are a huge crisis, and
the article, The Myth of the Student Loan Crisis is about how college students loans
do not amount to a crisis. The student loan crisis is a legitimate problem, not a myth.
College students do not realize the risks they take when they acquire student loans.
Student loans can and do have negative effects on the economy and there are also
hardships the students will face in the future.
One reason that supports the issue of student loans being a crisis is the negative
effects on the economy. For example, students who are in debtcannot spend money
on expensive items.
People who want nice cars, jacked up trucks, enormous boats, and other items will
not be able to afford these items. Also, student loans are responsible for the second
highest form of consumer debt. (Denhart, College Crisis Is Crippling ) Higher
national debt means fewer jobs and increased interest rates. Lastly, is the inability to
start new businesses, which would benefit the economy, due to income debt ratio.
These three examples show the negative effects on the economy from student loans.
In addition, students will take on these loans without
7. Differences Between Private Sector And Voluntary Sector
1.Understand organisational structures
1.1Explain the differences between the private sector, public sector and voluntary
sector
Private Sector
Businesses and industries that are not owned or controlled by the Government.
Private Sector organisations operate privately to make a profit with income generated
from the sale of their products or services. Although many private sector firms are
owned and controlled by individuals, many are owned by groups of people; for
example, companies may be owned by shareholders, who have invested in that
company.
The Private Sector includes:

They are usually controlled by a directors or a management committee.
The Voluntary Sector is often referred to as the Third Sector or Not for Profit Sector.
Whist they do not exist to provide profit for shareholders, they need to generate
income.
The Voluntary Sector includes:
Charities Oxfam, Red Cross, YMCA, Women s Royal Voluntary Service
Trusts Local Housing Associations
Local community organisations Neighbourhood Watch Schemes
Societies/Clubs Local sports clubs, Scouts, Guides
1.2Explain the functions of different organisational structures
Having the appropriate structure is vital for an organisation or business to meet its
aims and objectives. A business may be structured by:
Functions activities such as customer service, marketing, operations, finance or IT
Location where regional divisions of the business take responsibility for a specific
function or particular products, whether locally, nationally or internationally
Product or services where the business is divided into the particular products made
or services provided
All organisations have employees working at different levels of responsibility. At the
bottom, a business depends on its operatives to produce the products or services.
Team leaders often perform the day to day management role, with operational
managers setting direction and strategy for the business as a whole. The number of
employees in each level will depend on the business

Competition heated up as department stores, particularly J.C. Penny Corporation,
Inc. and specialty apparel stores improved their performances. According to the
article of Funding Universe, Kohl s was faced with fierce competition in
California from stores such as, Mervyns and Macy West. Some analysts contended
the big push into the Golden State had distracted management, and indeed the
company suffered from excess inventory, forcing it to discount heavily, which
dented profits. Some shoppers turned to rival retailers when they encountered less
well kept stores and longer checkout lines than usual. Which the numbers were
disappointing, while revenues were still up 12.7 percent, surpassing the ten billion
mark for the first time, but net income fell for the first time in ten years dropping a
whopping 8.5% to $581 million, and in store sales fell 1.6 percent. In view of the
financial statements attached to this paper, Kohl s acquired debt increased both in
dollars and as a percentage of sales. Gross margin as a percentage of sales was
36.4% in 2014, much lower in 2013. The merchandise margin increased, but was
offset by higher shipping losses attributable to growth in the number of on line
orders. Selling, general and administration expenses both increased in dollars and as a
percentage of sales. There are numerous factors that impact the success of department
stores such as, political and
9. Four Chinese Inventions
Located in East Asia, China has been around for over 5,000 years and is known as
one of the four ancient civilizations. As China developed into a great nation, the
government began to form dynasties in which China is ruled by a specific emperor.
The first dynasty to have an emperor was the Qin Dynasty, established by Shi Huang
Di. This notorious name was self proclaimed by him and literally translates into the
First Emperor of China. At the end of the Qin Dynasty, Shi Huang Di was overthrown
and China became conquered by another. Furthermore, these events spawned a new
dynasty called the Han Dynasty, which ultimately fell and created the opportunity for
another dynasty and so on. This incessant succession in governing Ancient China

Likewise, China produced inventions that contributed to not only their culture, but
the vast world of our past and present. Particularly, The Four Great Inventions have
made a tremendous impact on our society as humans. These are the inventions of:
Papermaking, Printing, Gunpowder, and the Compass, developed during the Song
and Yuan Dynasties. Starting with the art of papermaking, this process created a
writing surface other than bones, silk, or bamboo. Using plant fibers, Cai Lun of
the Eastern Han created a lightweight and smooth textured piece of paper as
opposed to heavy, rough bones or expensive silk. Then, Bi Shang of the Northern
Song Dynasty invented movable type printing, which was later updated and
succeeded by Europe. By applying baked clay in which text could be composed,
Shang could print the frame onto paper. Therefore, paper and printing were used as
expected: creating a source of entertainment in books, information on news,
producing art, and more. Progressively, the compass was conceived shortly
afterwards. The initial compass had a magnetic rod among a bronze case with twenty
four directions etched into it and was used until the 8th Century. Its brother
instrument used water to suspend itself and minimize movement, thus allowing long
distance sea navigation. Finally, the introduction of gunpowder had revolutionized
China and the world. Gunpowder, which is made of sulfur, charcoal, and potassium
nitrate, was discovered to burn rapidly, releasing immense volumes of gases. At
first, this was used for firework displays, but was found to also be a powerful
weapon. With the advantage of gunpowder, China had become a callous adversary in

In this experiment, we wanted to investigate which surfaces in the school had the

Jazz in a dance form, however, originates from the dances of Africans when they
were brought to America on slave ships. This dance form developed alongside jazz
music in New Orleans in the early 1900s. Jazz incorporated unique moves, elaborate
footwork, large leaps, rapid turns, and imaginative improvisation to bring an energetic
and entertaining experience. Jazz dance requires the foundation of classical ballet to
embody balance and agility. Jazz dance is viewed in the spotlight with movies, on
stage performances, and in urban areas of the streets and clubs. The transformation
of jazz dance into dance theatre and the important role of professional techniques and
choreography, created modern jazz dance . Beginning in the 1930s and continuing
through the 1960s, Jazz dance transformed from its original form into a theatre
focused performance form of dance that required a highly trained dancer. Eventually
these highly trained dancers performed a specific set of movements, which differed
greatly from the original form of dance that started in New Orleans in the 1900s.
Also during this time period jazz dance was profoundly influenced by Caribbean and
other Latin American dance
13. Brand Extension Strategy Essay
When launching a new product, it is better to pursue a brand extension strategy, than
to develop a new brand
Brand extension is a brand strategy which using the existing brand name to develop
a new product or enter into a different product category market or industry. The new
brand can be called as a sub brand , and the original brand is referred as a parent
brand . There are basically two different types of brand extensions. The first one is
line extension , which means to launch a new product which is under the same
product category as the parent brand. It usually involves more flavours or different
sizes. For example, Coca cola and Coca cherry cola. The other type is category
extensions which means to launch a product in a ... Show more content on

Brand Extensions can increase the establishment of the new product by guarantees of
its quality, getting consumers awareness and recognition. As consumers used to
remember the positive things about the parent brand, at the same time negative
things will not transferred to the sub brand. So it would reduce the risk to the first
time buyer. Moreover, if the company uses this brand extension correctly, it can not
only increase the profit of the company, but can also improve both the sub brand and
parent brand images and bring new customers into brand franchise and increase
market coverage.
In conclusion, it is true that when launching a new product, it is better to pursue a
brand extension strategy, than to develop a new brand. Brand extension is more
likely to be succeeding as it provides many advantages which describes above and
also many researches found that it is easier for company to use brand extension rather
than creating a new brand.

Franklin. The theory proposed in this article is elections that do not stimulate high
turnout among young adults leave a footprint of low turnout in the age structure of
the electorate (Franklin, 2004). The methodology involved examine the voting
patterns of 22 countries that have held elections continuously since 1945. This
number total 356 elections and provides a strong pool of data to draw conclusions
from. The results brought forth a number of different variables that impact voter
turnout. Such variables are the frequency at which elections are held the closer
together equates to a decrease in turnout, to the impact of lowering the eligible
voting age. Interesting any country that lowered the voting age can expect to see a
drop of 3.8% in a span of 40 years (Franklin, 2004). Additionally the analysis
discovered that the Baby Boomers, which earlier were stated to be 20% more active
voters in Canada, are 7% less likely to vote globally than their parenting generation.
The conclusion for this article is that there is a reduction in the competitive nature of
elections (less likely to bring about policy changes), and a decrease in the age when
voters become eligible. Both of these declines generate an environment where the

The axes comprise the vast majority of GГјlpД±nar polished cutting edge stone tool

elongated triangular in section with tapering, rounded butt; sharpened the

They have generally with a sharp edge for gouging depressions into rather soft
materials such as woods (Adams 2002, 153). They are rare in archaeological
contexts in Western Anatolia as well as in GГјlpД±nars polished stone tool

shapes in this group, which is quadrant and elongate shape. The specimens are vastly
elongated rectangular in shape with a sub circular cross section, slightly rectangular
in profile with tapering rounded butt, rounded and smooth faceted sides and
symmetrical sharply faceted blades Also they have fully polished and flat surfaces
and no visible wear traces on blades except one exhausted specimen (77).
The chisels have been probably used for woodworking tasks. They were hafted for
gouging with a wooden or bone mount to use functionally. Mostly all specimens had
no wear traces indicate that they were used only in symbolic meaning. The
specimens are mostly complete and their length varies between 3 7 cm. with the
maximum width of 1 3 cm. and the thickness between 0,5 1,2 cm. All of the chisels
like the other cutting edge tool objects including axes and adze examples were
produced from medium grained metamorphic rocks such as diorite, gabbro basalt,
granite, serpentine, nephrite and jadeit (greenstone) (Table
18. Was Antony A Good Leader
In the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, one could argue Antony
being a good leader for Rome, however his characteristics do not back this up. After
Caesar s assassination Antony wanted to become the leader. Imagine a bad leader
and the characteristics this bad leader has and then look at Anthony and compare
the characteristics. Antony would not be a good fit for the leader of Rome but
instead was a power driven, non loyal, and manipulative man that would only bring
bad to Rome and it people. Antony is good at manipulating people, thus causing
them to believe whatever he says because of the way he says things and what he
says. In Antony s speech he tells the common people about a will that is not meant
to read , and they would go kiss Caesar s wounds (3, 2, 133). Antony is telling the
people about Caesar s will that he will not read but the people of Rome would love.

Brutus and Cassius when he says to witness the hole [they] made in Caesar s heart

19. Idealism And Tlon, Uqbar, Orbis Tertius
Berkeleyan Idealism and Tlön, Uqbar, Orbis Tertius
Jorge Luis Borges short work of fiction titled Tlön, Uqbar, Orbis Tertius grapples
with many philosophic issues. In the main, this short story deals with the philosophic
notion of subjective idealism as posed by George Berkeley s Treatise Concerning
Principles of Human Knowledge. Within this essay I argue that, while he
acknowledges the presumed irrefutability of Berkeley s argument, Borges Tlön,
Uqbar, Orbis Tertius aims to disparage both totalitarianism and Berkeleyan idealism
by drawing an analogy between the two via his literary creation of the fictitious
world of Tlön.
The notion of subjective idealism, within western philosophy, is credited to the 18th
century philosopher George Berkeley. In his most notable work regarding this system
of metaphysics, a Treatise Concerning Principles of Human Knowledge, Berkeley
holds that nothing exists outside of the immaterial ideas within minds. Esse est
percipi or to be is to be perceived (Berkeley,11). Berkley s form of subjective
idealism is able to avoid the problem of solipsism by his holding that the totality of
perceived ideas reside in the mind of God. This monistic system of metaphysics
runs contra to the earlier works of Locke and Descartes whose relative theories
assumed a dualist stance concerning metaphysics. The philosophic relevance of
subjective idealism is conveyed by Borges in Tlön, Uqbar, Orbis Tertius, when he
cites David Hume who held that
20. Analyzing Sebastian Arredondo s Performance
This is a critique of Sebastian Arredondo s performance on the evening of Monday
November 28, 2016 which took place in Recital Hall in Merrill Hall of the Jacob s
School of Music. Arredondo performed three pieces. His first piece was Domenico
Scarlatti s Sonata in A Major, K.208 followed by his Sonata in D Major, K.492. His
next piece was Maurice Ravels Valses nobles et sentimentales (1911) which contains
8 movements; Modere Tres franc, Assez lent, Modere, Assez anime, Presque lent,
Vif, Moins vif, and Epilogue: Lent. The last piece Arredondo performed was Franz
Liszts Sonata in B Minor, S.178. Scarlatti lived from 1685 1757 and the majority of
his pieces were published after his death. Maurice Raval lived from 1875 1937 and
his piece Valses nobles et sentimentales was published for pianoin 1911. Franz Liszt
lived from 1811 1886 and his Sonata in B Minor, S.178 was published in 1854.

My main problems were with things out of his control. I found myself frustrated
and annoyed by the audience who for the majority of the performance either left
while he was in the middle of the piece or entered the auditorium during a song. To
make matters worse, it was pouring outside so at one point in Liszt s Sonata in B
Minor, it was a really quiet part of the piece and one person entered and his shoes
squeaked with every step he took. And he didn t even just take a seat in the back
row, he walked about five rows in before he took a seat. I felt bad for Arredondo
but he handled it like a pro because he didn t let it phase him. Another aspect of the
performance, I didn t particular care for is how after every piece, the performer will
leave the stage and then come back out. I understand why they do it and that it s
tradition but I found it a little strange. The performance part however, I really didn t
have any complaints. I was entertained and he held my attention for the whole

I.Background
When the Obama government pushed for the automation of Electronic Medical
Record (EMR), hospitals and private practices were required to follow the
government mandate to avail of the incentives and at the same time to qualify for
Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements. Moving from paper to electronic records
was a monumental tasks not only in the implementation of the software but also in
training all hospital providers to properly use the EMR.
In 2010, the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) decided to switch its
current system to Epic to consolidate its variety of applications and most important of
all to streamline billing. With this new endeavor, the administration needed to build a

All providers are paid for the time they will be spending in classes. Without
sacrificing the quality of training, and not to endanger lives of the patients because of
misuse of the EMR, the call to utilize current technology to deploy some classes

III.The Training Department
The manager of the training department envisions training to split into asynchronous
and synchronous. The basic functionality of the EMR can be taught using E
Learning courses, and a more personal approach will be a face to face training. He
is responsible for all the subsystem that lead to the design, delivery and
implementation of the program. (Moore Kearseley, 2012, p.18).
The new training department will be divided into two entities. The 1st entity
comprises of Instructional Designers who are responsible for developing classroom
materials. They are called the IT Training Team. The 2nd entity is composed of
Instructional Technologists who are responsible of building E Learning materials, a
Learning Management System administrators and Quality Assurance personnel who
check grammar and test the deployed E Learning courses. They are called the E
Learning Team.
The E Learning Team is tasked to pick the right technology to meet the high demand
of training. They will choose the applications to build the E Learning courses, a

employees and agents could report or seek guidance regarding potential or actual
criminal conduct without fear of retaliation (Deming 91). Siemens Company and
people working there on a regular basis faced a great number of disadvantages
associated with the decisions that led to the bribery scandals. The major
disadvantages included not only great financial losses due to fines and court
procedures but mainly the lack of trust and confidence on the part of customers,
investors, business partners and other persons. Siemens simply had to re gain trust
and respect in the world trying to remain competitive, successful and productive either
on the national or international business arena. These disadvantages surely affect the
organization s values, beliefs, culture, control, and its strategic ways of doing
business in the modern competitive environment. Brooks and Dunn stated that each
line of business had a managing director and a separate managing board, and this
structure inhibited accountability and allowed corruption to spread (Brooks and

and being involved into fraudulent bribery activities, such as Andreas Kley, Johannes

Anthem depicts a world of the future, a collectivist dictatorship in which there is no
individualism and people are grouped together and given the same name to unify the

Anthem (1938) by Ayn Rand is an insight into what she came from in Russia, where
communism and

Russia where all people get the same amount of everything. There are multiple
connections between the way of life where Ayn Randcame from and the way of life

25. Data Protection Act 1998 Essay
The Data Protection Act 1998 was specifically designed to protect sensitive data of
many individuals that was held in organizations databases. The act originally was
passed in 1984 with a further update in 1998 which it then was brought out in action
in 2000. Any organization holding personal data electronically, must register with the
Data Protection registrar (who monitors whether the act has been enforced or not),
and state what data they wish to hold as well as their intent in which they want to use
it for.
Data must be fairly and lawfully obtained and only used for the registered intention
purposes. Every individual has a right to check what data is being held about them.
Individuals may also be able to change certain information about them that is often
incorrect or if their circumstances have been changed. For example, if one is
applying for a credit card and are refused, they are entitled to check why they were
refused, and if there was any incorrect information or data that was being held under
their name, then they will be entitled to alter it.
Data that has been given or permitted to be taken from a certain organization must
only be done so as long as the individual agrees to this. This should not be given out
or sold without permission.
There are eight principles of data protection and are as follows:
Data must be stored fairly and legally.
Data must be obtained for limited and clearly declared purposes.
Data must be adequate, relevant and not excessive.

26. Comparison Of Battlefield And I Could Fall In Love
Poetry is a form of writing that can make a reader feel a collection of different
emotions. Poetry has evolved into songs and is used by many artists today to
make the audience feel the message they are trying to transmit. Nowadays, poetry
and song lyrics are very similar as they are trying to convey emotions and have an
impact on their intended audience. The song, Battlefield by Lea Michele is more
poetic and artistic than the poem, I Could Fall in Love by Grace Hays, because of
the use of similes, extended metaphor, and end rhyme. Both the song, Battlefield and
the poem, I Could Fall in Love, have the same theme throughout the writing. The
theme of both pieces is frustration in a relationship and how it is having an impact on

The thought of one sentence continuing onto the next line creates a very specific
tone and message throughout the piece. Enjambment is used in the poem when it
says, I hope you know the effect / that you are having on me (Hays lines 31 32).
There are several lines with enjambment in the poem and this causes the piece of
writing to have a certain flow and a different reading effect. Another poetic device
the poem uses is a very straight forward writing style. From the start of the poem, the
reader knows exactly what the author is feeling and the emotions that they speaker is
trying to convey. This is very important to the poem because there had to be
something in the writing that makes the reader want to keep reading. The article, Is
Poetry Dead, says, These days, poetry is institutionalized. Everyone can write it.
But if you want a lot of people to read it, or at least the Right Interested Persons,
there are a few choked channels of Reputable Publications. Or you can just spray it
liberally onto the Internet and hope it sticks (Petri 1). This quote really emphasizes
that poetry has to have something special about it that attracts people and keeps
them interested. Another poetic device used in the poem, I Could Fall in Love, is
alliteration. Although it is not used several times, it is used when the author says I
get goose (Hays line 18). Besides these three poetic devices, there are not any others
present in the poem which is why the song is more artistic and poetic than the

helped shape the political regime of the country. It established the separation of

includes five steps. These five steps are (Atkinson, 2005): Step One Risk
Identification Step Two Risk Mitigation Step Three Action Planning Step Four
Performance Metrics Step Five Shareholder Value/Return on Investment The first
step is to identify the risk. In some cases this can be a difficult task; especially when
the risk stems from the external environment. There are many tools that can help
organizations to help identify potential risks. Once the risk is identified then the next
step that Wal Mart uses is to try to determine possible courses that would allow them
to mitigate the risk. Not all risks are easy to mitigate. For example, external risks
such as a recession might be difficult to mitigate for nearly any organization. Once the
possible risk mitigations strategies are compiled then the next step is to create an
action plan in which puts into action the different mitigation strategies. The next step
is to determine if the plan worked or not. Thus performance metrics have to be
constructed to determine the effectiveness of the action plan. Finally, the last step
that Wal Mart conducts is to use the financial tools to determine how it will affect the
shareholders. Discuss how your organisation evaluates projects

President Aristide took office in January of 1991 and was ousted in September of
the same year by his hand picked, chief of staff of the army Lieutenant General
Raoul Cedras and forced to flee the country. International outrage, fueled in large
part by the well publicized flotilla of boat people bound for FloridaВё put Haiti
abruptly in the international spotlight.3 These events set the stage for U.S.
involvement in the Haitian crisis. In 1993, the United Nations (UN) attempted to
negotiate for a peaceful resolution with Gen. Cedras, which proved unsuccessful.
Gen. Cedras would agree to different stipulations, to include stepping down to get
the embargo lifted, and each time he would fail to honor his end. In one such
incident, with few rounds fired, thugs in his employ forcibly prevented an American
ship, the USS Harlan County, from off loading UN troops intended to retrain the
Haitian Army and police force.4 The UN reestablished the embargo, a naval
blockade and passed UN Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 940, authorizing the
application of all necessary means to restore democracy in Haiti .5 This set the
planning assets in motion for forcible entry into Haiti.
Planning and Preparation In January 1994, the deadline for Lieutenant General
Cedras to step down passed. He did not relinquish power and international pressure
increased for stronger sanctions on Haiti.

there focus was the future of their kids, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Also the change in our personal lifestyle practices can help. For example, smoking
which we are polluting the earth. The homes we buy, why do we need all the
technology in the world in our house. Another way Christians we can preserve our
environment is by using alternate methods of transportation. For example, in

consciousness such as land, plants, animals, and people in which all are connected.
They believe all living creatures have souls, and when people or animals die their

During the early modem period, the classical maxim of nosce teipsum operated

their sense of the play s similarity upon theories of comedy that imply such

38. The Determinants Of Potential Of Susceptibility Essay
Developed determinants of susceptibility are just as dangerous, if not more, as innate
determinants of susceptibility. When groups with preexisting respiratory diseases
including chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder or asthma inhale fine particulate
matter, it irritates and inflames the lungs and airways ( Air pollutionand asthma ,
2015). This makes deep breathing difficult and forces the lungs and associated
breathing muscles to work harder and faster in order to provide the body and its
tissues with adequate amounts of oxygen to function normally. When groups with
preexisting cardiovascular diseases including hypertension, heart failure, coronary
heart disease, or stroke inhale fine particulatematter, it inflames the heart, arteries,
and other vessels ( Air Pollution and Heart Disease, 2016). This significantly
increases the risk of stroke, arrhythmias, hypertension, atherosclerosis, and heart
failure. PM2.5 also plays a role in causing plaques in vessels to rupture which can
trigger a heart attack. Since the heart has inefficient functioning due to the increased
demand and workload that air pollution presents to it, it must pump harder and faster
in order to provide the body and its tissues with adequate perfusion of blood to
function normally. According to Rajagopalan (2012), diabetic patients have
previously been shown to be more susceptible to air pollution induced cardiovascular
morbidity and mortality because fine particulate matter decreases vascular
39. The Pros And Cons Of The Green Revolution
Introduction: The Green Revolution was a research and development initiative aimed
to increase the number of crop yields from the years between 1930 1960 and the
subsequent years following them which resulted in the adaptation of various
technologies leading to the invention of high yielding varieties of seeds, fertilizers,
pesticides and new irrigation methods. It has facilitated socio economic changes
which have helped in preventing natural calamities due to the ever increasing world
population and has provided people with an option of self sustaining and reduced
poverty. The Green Revolution was a joint venture between the Ford Foundation and
the Rockefeller Foundationwhile Dr. Norman Borlaug, the father of the Green
Revolution has been... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These credit institutions mortgaged lands to farmers which in turn proved
beneficial for these institutions as they could acquire these farms if the farmer
was unable to the pay the loan (Ponting, 2007). One of the major advantages of the
Green Revolution was that it increased the use of machinery on the farmlands
(Bruce Koppel, 1987). Conclusion: Thus, it can be clearly said that the Green
Revolution replaced, one way of life with another within a short span of two
decades. due to its massive agricultural developments (Parayil, 1992). It was a
major achievement when it was implemented in the developing countries as it gave
them a sense of food security after the end of the World War 2. It got many people
out of poverty and hunger and while this was focussed on, it also dropped down the
prices for food, increased migration, generated employment and the increased
economy as well. Agriculture research still needs new research to tackle the
upcoming problems related to increasing yields to feed the ever growing
population and growth of food for the developing countries. Add to that,
globalization and trade will make food prices less liable to local food produce and
agriculture will not be as important for people
40. The Geographic Information System ( Gis ) Essay
Today s society relies heavily on the use of computers and computerised information,
so much so that we rarely notice when an activity or action involves the use of
technology. Over the past 30 years, technology has continued to develop into
extremely complex systems capable of processing large amounts of data. It is now
possible to represent not only numbers and letters, but also images, sounds and maps
(Bernhardsen, 2002, p. 1). A Geographic Information System(GIS) is a computer
system or application designed to perform a variety of operations based on
geographic information. GIS is a tool used by many organisations, businesses,
schools, governments and individuals searching for innovative ways to solve
problems (Evans, 2014). Geographic Information Systems allow users to map,
model, analyse and query data all within a single database according to their
location (Evans, 2014). Information about the world is stored as a collection of
layers; these layers can be linked together by a common locational component such
as zip codes, latitude and longitude or road name. These geographic references
allow individuals to locate features for analysis of trends and patterns (Evans,
2014). Dozens of layers can be added and organised to display a wide array of
information on many subjects.
Computer based GIS systems have knowingly been used since the late 1960 s
(Coppock Rhind, 1997). However, the history of GIS is relatively unrecorded, it is a
field in which history is little
41. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Tribals
ii.Problems of assimilation with the non tribal People: The indigenous people of the
Dooars were the Koch Rajbanshis, the Mech, the Rabhas and the Lepchas. They were
well dependent on their traditional village economy of agriculture, hunting, fishing,
and forest based economy. After the introduction of tea plantation in Dooars, the
planters encouraged the immigration of the Nepalese, and then the tea planters
decided to bring labourers from the Santal Parganas and Chhotonagpur plateau. In the
second part of nineteenth century, a large number of tribal people mainly of Oraons,
Santals, Mundas and Malpaharis in migrated to the Dooars. Again after the partition
of the country in 1947, and emergence of Bangladesh in 1971, streams of
immigration or infiltration from East Pakistan and Bangladesh occurred in the areas.
The immigrated Bangladeshi people occupied a vast areas in almost everywhere.
Thus the Dooars grew into a new hub of multi racial and multi lingual people, and of
course, this led the demographic and cultural environment to be too complex for the
future.
iii.Loss of Control over Natural Resources: Before coming of the British, the tribals
enjoyed unhindered rights of ownership and management over natural resources like
land, forests, wildlife water, soil, fishes etc. Indigenous peoples have an intuitive
relationship with nature, a wealth of traditional knowledge, and have used natural
resources for their livelihood. But, after the introduction of plantation
42. What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Adobe
Photoshop
Introduction:
I will be compare the tools to see what they have in common and what they don t. I
will also see which tool I like better. The two tools I have chosen are Gimp and
Adobe Photoshop.
GIMP is an Image Manipulation Program. It is a free program for such tasks as
photo editing and photo retouching. It has many capabilities. It can be used as a
simple paint program or an expert photo retouching program. GIMP is extensible and
expandable. The advanced interface allows everything from the simplest task to the
most complex task to be easily scripted.
Photoshop is an image editing software created by Adobe. Photoshop is one of the
leaders in photo editing software. The software allows users to resize, crop and

It will run on any operating system and is compatible with OS X and Windows.
GIMP s user interface is much easier to use than Photoshop interface. GIMP s user
interface is friendlier overall.
.
The disadvantages of GIMP;
These were the main drawbacks I ve discovered using GIMP.
Buggy it does crash occasionally
Gimp does not support all image formats unless plug ins for them are installed.
The user manual is still under development.
There isn t a lot of help online while Photoshop has plenty of tutorials.
Comparison:
6 reasons Gimp is better:
1 Basic editing is almost the exact same: Photoshop and GIMP, both have basic set
of tools for image editing. Quality image editing can be done in both of the software s.
2 Advanced Features: Photoshop is loaded with more advanced features as compared
to GIMP. Only professionals actually use these advanced features. The Average user
will more than likely not use these advanced
43. Niels Bohr s Role In The Science Community
In the science community, we have had many advancements made on the atomic
atom. It began in 460 B.C. when a man named Democritus discovered that particles
can continuously be broken down into smaller pieces. That idea is what started the
evolution of what we know now as the modern atom, which has been clarified by
Niels Bohr.
Before Niels Bohr was admired for his theory, everyone thought that the atomic atom
was all together. By this, I mean that Ernest Rutherford had earlier concluded that the
electrons were encircling the positive charged protons inside of the atom. However,
Niels Bohr not only corrected his theory, but he also made a huge step in the science
world that has been taught since 1911. During this time Niels Bohr was just a

45. Past Tense In The Great Gatsby
The past tense can affect someone very much, and it makes it hard for a person to
move on for their present and future. It can be really significant for them, they keep
on bringing the past back in their lives, and do everything to bring it back. In this
case, is presented by Fitzgerald, Jay Gatsby. Scott Fitzgerald constantly makes Gatsby
to bring his pastwith Daisy Buchanan, and for her is the reason why Jay Gatsby
became a wealthy person. Jay Gatsby, came from a North Dakota. His family were
farmers. He joined the army. While he was in the army, he met Daisy and thought
that Daisy was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen in his life. For him she
was really valuable and special because he wasn t the only one who loved her, many

46. The Argument For God s Existence
Introduction
The Bible begins with the book of Genesis stating, In the beginning God created the
heavens and the earth. The Bible doesn t begin with an argument for the reality of
God, but states the truth of His existence. The Jews accepted the truth of an eternal
God, so the authors rarely spent time with an argument for His existence. However,
today in our society, it is usually required to begin explaining the gospel with an
argument for God s existence. 1 Peter 3:15 instructs believers to, Always be
prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the
hope that you have. For the believer, it is a good practice to have an understanding of
the arguments for God s existence. It is important to realize that ... Show more content

No other species on earth displays our level of intelligence, creativity, and emotion.
One aspect of the anthropological argument reveals that mankind is so widely
different from our world is we were created in the image of God, and because of
this we have been given certain attributes that separate us from all other forms of
life. We were not physically made in God s likeness, because scripture tells us that
God is spirit and we should not assume that God s physical appearance is similar to a
man s. It is our non physical attributes that made in the image of God. Our
intelligence, imagination, emotion, creativity, and morality are many of the attributes
of God that He has blessed us with.
Theological Definition
The theological definition of the anthropological (anthropos meaning man ) argument
is based on the human condition, of man s basic moral standards and the constant
need for there to be a higher being. It is similar to the cosmological argument in that if
man has a desire for God and a conscience when offending him; apparently these
have their basis in God and not in man. This argument was perhaps most famously
theorized by Blaise Pascal, who suggested that it was a better bet to believe in God
than not to.
Biblical Foundation
The Biblical Foundations of the anthropological argument are: (1) That man is the
product of a living being: In Genesis chapter 2 it says that God formed man of the
dust of the ground and

There are many different places to visit throughout the world; however, London is
one of the most visited places in the world. Many people put London on a list of
places they want to visit and many say that it lives up to being one of the most
historical places in the world. London is the Capital of England. It is the most known
city in England and it s the most visited city in the country. Londonis known for many
things, but it s mainly known for its wonderful cuisine, its tremendous history, and
its captivating arts. England is known for its bland cuisine. (Catterall 3) Bland

As many people know London does not have the same currency as the United
States. In London the currency they use is pounds. They also use shillings and
pence. On their money they have faces of important people in their culture like we
do on our money. Some people that are on the money in London are Charles
Dickens, All of London s wonderful sights have a history that not a lot of people
know about. In 1999 a New Thames bridge was built. The bridge featured
sculptures, an aluminum deck and stainless steel balustrades. (The Annals of
London 392) Almost 15 million tourists visit London each year from overseas.
(Mitchell 1) The London Eye is the largest, and arguably the most famous,
observation wheel in the world. (Akwagyiram 1) Many people believe that the
London Eye is Ferris Wheel, but it in fact is and observation wheel. The London
Eye gets more visitors per year than the Taj Mahal. The London Eye is at 135
metres, and is 30 meters higher than the wheel at Yokohama Bay in Japan, which
had been the tallest. The landmark can around 15,000 visitors a day. (Akwagyiram
1) The London Eye is lit up different colors for special occasions. Over the recent
terrorist attacks that happened in London the London Eye was lit up the colors of
the French flag. A ride on the London Eye takes about 30 minutes. The Tower of
London is another historically important landmark in London. The Tower of
London is the oldest palace, fortress, and prison in Europe. History has it that King
Edward of England backed down on his promise to give throne to William and ended
up giving the throne to Harold Godwinson. (McGillick 1) The Tower of London has
been expanded by many different kings and queens. When the Romans invaded
Britain in AD 43, they moved north from the Kentish Coast and traversed the Thames
in the London region, clashing with the local tribesmen just to the north. (Ford 1)
The Romans were
48. Rational And Rational Choice Theory
Rational choice theory posits that any individual makes behavioral choices because
they logically consider any potentially criminal situation, weigh the possible
benefits versus the possible costs, and make a decision to act based on whether or
not the benefits outweigh the risks. Rational choice theory differs from other
philosophies in that it denies the existence of any kinds of action other than the
purely rational and calculative. All social action, it is argued, can be seen as
rationally motivated, as instrumental action, however much it may appear to be
irrational or non rational (Scott, 2000). Making rational choices means being
motivated by personal wants, goals, and needs. It is not possible for all wants and
needs to be met or achieved; therefore, choices are made in order to bring the greatest
satisfaction and happiness to the individual. Individual does not always reference one
human being; rational choice theoryis a main idea in economics, sociology, and many
other social sciences. An individual with regard to the theory can be a corporation,
group, or other defined entity that engages in decision making. The limitations of this
theory have led researchers to develop many sub theories. One sub theory of rational
choice is routine activity theory, which posits that crimeis not an aberration of human
society, but merely a common facet of culture that only requires opportunity. First
developed and published by Marcus Felson and Lawrence E. Cohen in 1979,
49. The Glass-Steagall Act Pecora 1970
The Glass Steagall Act was primarily introduced to avoid conflicts of interest. Banks
offering investment banking services and mutual funds were accused of various
abuses and were subject to conflicts of interest. The most essential source supporting
the enactment of the Banking Act of 1933 was Pecora s hearing in front of the US
Senate Committee on Banking and Currency in February 1933 (Benston, 1990, P.
43). For Pecora and other opponents, only the strict legal separation of commercial
and investment banking could fully eliminate the conflict of interest between serving
a customer and promoting the sales of securities (Pecora, 1939, P. 88).
In general, conflicts of interest are likely whenever an institution or an individual is

They compared default rates of 1926 1930, when bank affiliates and investment
banks were both actively underwriting numerous security issuances. The main focus
of the investigation was set at issues from commercial banks affiliates (bank
affiliates), investment banks (without the deposit business) and especially at issues
from J.P Morgan, Kuhn, Loeb Co., The First National Bank and The Chase Bank.
The two latter banks were accused of actively misleading the public into investing in
poor quality security issues and also committing various abuses against their
shareholders and the government. Precisely, in relation to their underwriting
activities, the security affiliates of these two banks were blamed of misrepresenting
the actual quality of new issued securities, as well as of abusing their commercial
and investment banking business for the packaging of bad loans into securities and
transferring them to uninformed public investors. These two banks are analyzed
separately because evidence was leveled against these two in the Pecora hearings
(Ang and Richardson, 1993, P. 353). Furthermore, Ang and Richardson (1993)
especially mention J.P Morgan and Kuhn, Loeb Co., since they cannot be clearly
classified as commercial banks or pure investment banks, since they do accept
deposits but have a broad history of underwriting. The
