Human Trafficking In America
Slavery is when persons are owned and controlled by other persons, and they have little to no
freedom. In Eastern Europe slavery ended in 1528, but human trafficking has been going on for
thousands of years. A few decrees did not stop the horrible crime called human trafficking. By
definition human trafficking is modern day slavery; people that are victims are imprisoned and
worked until they are physically unable to any longer. Many people turn a blind eye to human
trafficking. Despite the minimal efforts of various governments Eastern European humantrafficking
is on the rise, leading to an increase in the economic exploration of the victims of human trafficking.

the wages that are due to them. Instead, the wages go straight to the procurer, this is basic
economic exploitation. If victim objects they are silenced through beatings and repetitive rape.
The most common jobs for victims to work are in the agricultural, textile, fishing industries, as
well as the sex trade industry. Human trafficking is a 32 billion industry, people that buy and sell
other humans collectively make 32 billion dollars a year. There are around 20 30 million people
trafficked around the world ( 11 Facts about Human Trafficking). 140,000 of those 20 30 million
people are trafficked into, out, and around Europe; victims from Eastern Europe are found all over
Europe. (Soroptimist, 6) Of those people 60% are sexually exploited, 17% are economically

Graffiti In Australia
Overnight a paste up, created by Baby Guerrilla, has been placed on a wall in West Footscray. As a
member of the arts committee, I contend that this piece of art shall remain, but not be sustained. It
is undeniable that street art is a prominent part of Melbourne s culture. A vital component of street
art is the fact that it is impermanent. This is one of the countless factors that separates it from
traditional art featured in studios, museums, and homes. Street artholds the purpose to be seen then
and there, therefore its removal or sustainment would defeat this purpose.
On the website of Baby Guerrilla she stated that she believes in the idea of setting art free,
setting our souls free to dream and imagine and go floating across a wall. The art she creates
unlike anything you could ever find amongst enclosed walls, it uses the large spaces and open air
as part of its message and image. Paste up graffiti is an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is there to show the people that they are not alone in what they feel. It is there to tell stories,
make announcements, make statements. Therefore, graffiti functions in unison with time. The art
is there to serve a single purpose: to affect the viewer. It is there for a reason, just like the
passerby. The public discussion it causes should occur there and then for a reason. Graffiti is quite
similar to architecture, they are both of the moment. Funnily enough, architecture receives far less
criticism than graffiti both current to trends, making a statement, to be seen by the public. Graffiti
carries the disadvantage, though. It lacks understanding. People incorrectly refer to graffiti art as
tagging or street art. Graffiti is there to serve a purpose, start a movement. Tagging is tedious and
destructive. Street art is the technical and artistic styles of graffiti, but used for the sole purpose of
artistic creation. The misuse of terminology often creates a bad name for graffiti

List Price And Agent Feedback On The Weekly Calls
As RMS has indicated many times, based on our observations and more importantly on the review
of assets during our weekly calls with Altisource, RMS continues to believe on many of these
assets, the condition or location of the property is the primary driver behind not only the large
reduction in list price, but ultimately a sales price well below the initial list price, all of which
contribute to extended days on market and increased carrying costs incurred by the trust. This is an
ongoing issue observed with Altisource and discussed on the weekly calls.
List price continues to be the biggest concern and is a frequent topic during our weekly target
assets and RMS raises these issues on an asset level basis, reviewing activity, property condition,
agent feedback and offers (or lack thereof).
RMS continues to review assets where we believe the list price set by Altisource is high relative
to our opinion of market value. On listed assets with DOM of more than 60 days and no offers,
RMS and Altisource discuss the list price and agent feedback to understand why offers have not
been received. RMS targets these assets for review every 2 weeks.
Another recent observation is a continued increase in the number of assets in pending contracts that
fall out because the buyer fails to return the purchase agreement. RMS continued to observe this in
January 2016. We believe this relates to the process by which Altisource sells REO assets (on the
HUBZU website), where

A Good Man is Hard to Find Analysis
EN 102
In the short story A Good Man is Hard to Find the author, Flannery O Connor communicates literary
symbols and prominence of Southern culture. Within the story, there are subtle yet important details
that make the entirety of the piece as iconic as it is. The reoccurring theme of being a lady and moral
codes both are important to the overall concept of the story. The unnamed grandmother in A Good
Man Is Hard to Find considers herself morally superior to others by her being a lady, and she
freely and frequently passes judgment on other people within the story. She claims that her
conscience is a guiding force in her life, such as when she tells Bailey that her ... Show more content

Only when the grandmother is facing death, in her final moments alone with the Misfit, does
she understand where she has gone wrong in life. Instead of being superior, she realizes, she is
flawed like everyone else. When she tells the Misfit that he is one of [her] own children, she is
showing that she has found the ability to see others with compassion and understanding. With
his violent killing, the Misfit seems an unlikely source to look to for guidance, but he
demonstrates a deep conviction that the other characters lack. Unlike the grandmother, who
simply assumes that she is morally superior to everyone else, the Misfit seriously questions the
meaning of life and his role in it. He has carefully considered his actions in life and examined his
experiences to find lessons within them. He has even renamed himself because of one of these
lessons, believing that his punishment didn t fit the crime. He reveals a self awareness that the
grandmother lacked and questions it. He knows he is not a great man, but he also knows that
there are others worse than him. He forms rudimentary philosophies, such as no pleasure but
meanness and the crime don t matter. The Misfit s philosophies may be morally corrupt, but they
are consistent. Unlike the grandmother, whose moral code falls apart the moment it s challenged,
the Misfit has a steady view of life and acts according to what he believes is right. His beliefs and

The Complaints Policy For Affinity Home Care
The complaints policy for Affinity Home Care outlines the following aims:
пѓ To resolve concerns / complaints as quickly and effectively as possible, through an informal
response by a frontline member of staff. If this is not possible then through a more formal
investigation and conciliation in an open and non defensive way.
пѓ To ensure that all concerns / complaints are dealt with in accordance with the procedures. пѓ
To ensure that staff, patients and relatives/carers are aware of the policy and procedures. пѓ To
improve quality of service by identifying lessons learned from complaints and by implementing
improvements in the service using the lessons learnt.
As Deputy Manager part of my job role is to ensure our Policies and Procedures reflect a safe
environment for both the client and staff, to enable clients to have the person centred care that the

training and skills, to support the client in a positive manner, and to ensure they understand the
client s needs.
I assisted with the content of our Service User Guide in this pack I have devised a section which
includes a piece about expectations on how complaints will be dealt with. This reads as the

Big Bang Theory Or A Big Fabrication
Adair Day
AP English IV

Big Bang Theory or a Big Fabrication The concept of creation has boggled human s minds for
centuries. Human nature has an intuitive sense of longing for an answer to solve the unknown, and
creation embodies the concept of unknown. In an effort to compile reason and scientific knowledge,
an explanation of the formation of the universe was formed and is widely known as The Big Bang
Theory. The Big Bang Theory is considered, ...the leading scientific explanation for the formation
of the universe (Howell). The Big Bang Theory articulates that before this event there was
nothing; and after it there was something. This suggestion to how the universe was created was
originally born from the sighting that the surrounding galaxies are moving away from our own at
an immense speed as if they had been propelled by some force (Howell). The standard theory
states that the entire universe originated as a condensed, infinitely pressured, singularity, which
defies the laws of today s understanding of physics. It is a misconception this event occurred as an
explosion; rather it resembled more of an expansion. At one moment there was nothing in existence
and in the following, the universe expanded as a balloon would, from a sub atomic particle, to all
that it is today. This notion of how the universe was created, is nothing more than a shot into the
dark, literally, and holds no validity. At this exact moment there are roughly 100,000

How successful can the management of fragile environments...
How successful can the management of fragile environments be, given the constant and increasing
demand for their exploitation?
A fragile environment is an area where the flora and fauna have adapted to a specific climate and
evolved to occupy many different niches due to extremely high competition for resources.
Furthermore due to the constant abiotic conditions, specialisation and symbiotic relationships have
occurred to such a degree that even the slightest ecological or environmental disruption cannot be
accommodated, meaning individual habitats and ecosystems can be easily destroyed. This
combination of specialisation and interdependence increases the overall fragility and vulnerability
of this biome

As most locals have no other viable alternative to generate income for their families. Furthermore
indigenous peoples often receive little education regarding global affairs and may not recognise the
need for conservation. In addition it is rare that a single fragile environment is endemic to one
country, as they often span over several territories. A good example is the Amazon rainforestwhich
lies within Brazil, holding 60% of the forest, Peru 13%, Columbia 10% and with Venezuela,
Ecuador, Bolivia, Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana also holding small amounts. This makes it
difficult to establish a uniform strategy across the whole are, and made harder still by low funds
available for conservation in many of these countries.
One of the more popular forms of conservation management is conservation reserves that protect
biodiversity and ensure its population lives sustainably with their environment. One example of
such a scheme is the Central Amazon Conservation complex in the Brazilian Amazon. Established
in 2003, it brings together four reserves in the Amazon; Jau National Park, Anavilhanas Ecological
Station, Mamiraua Reserve and Amana reserve, a total area of 49,000 km2. Sustainable
development reserves have protected areas from developments that could have seriously damaged

Summary Of By The Waters Of Babylon
The Truth and Knowledge
In By the Waters of Babylon, by Stephen Vincent BenГ©t, set in a future following the
destruction of industrial civilization, the story is narrated by a young man who is the son of a
priest. The priests of John s people, the hill people, are inquisitive people associated with the
divine. They are the only ones who can handle metal collected from the home s also known as the
Dead Places of long dead people whom they believe to be god s. Truth and knowledge are displayed
as a role for priests to know and not everyone else; because, of consequences that could happen if
someone knows too much. Truth and knowledge are only controlled by priests to keep everyone
in the village safe; so, no one knows the truth about the gods or anything else that will let society
fall to pieces. The narrator s journey and discoveries reveal that the not all knowledge is true. This
discovery will influence his knowledge and actions for the remainder of his life.
The way Benet uses the truth is by giving certain people like the priest s information to control
the society in which they live in. On John s journey for truth and knowledge, he makes the highly
significant discovery that the Place of the Gods was just a city, and that the Gods themselves were
not actually gods; in fact, they were men, just like him and his people. He knew this; because,
when he walked into the hot room, he saw the dead god sitting in his chair, watching his city die
out of the window, while

Effects Of Tommy John Surgery
How Tommy John Surgery Saves Baseball Careers Tommy John surgery was first performed in
1974 on Tommy John himself. Dr. Frank Jobe was the mastermind behind this surgery that
changed the game of baseball, at least from an injury prospective. Of course this legendary
surgery is named after Tommy John himself after Jobe successfully operated on the left arm of
John. Jobe entered the elbow of John, slicing through muscles and nerves to get to the ulnar
collateral ligament (the ligament that gets repaired). Jobe cut the palmaris longus tendon from the
wrist to use as a graft. He drilled holes in the ulna and the humerus and began to run the graft into a
figure eight over the UCL. Afterwards, Jobe sews the graft to the UCl as the replacement.... Show

You will feel a slight tingling in your pinky finger and a numbing feeling in your arm. The tear of
the ligament will take most if not all your throwing ability away. This will make an almost
unbearable pain felt in your arm.
Post surgery, your arm will be immobilized in a splint for at least a week. After a week you will
be given an arm brace, which you will wear for most of your recovery. The brace limits your
range of motion as you gradually gain it back. Physical therapy will take up to 12 months to
complete. You will build up muscle in your arm and shoulder to gain strength and prevent another
repeat of the injury. After therapy you will be able to throw and make your return to the diamond.
My sophomore year of high school, I tore my UCL. I thought that my playing days would possibly
be over and I wouldn t be the same baseball player again. I went to the doctor in Memphis and
they told me my options, it was either quit playing or have the procedure. I didn t really know
much about the surgery at the time but, after the surgery I had to know the steps. It was a long
process as I had the procedure in June and wasn t cleared for baseball activities until December.
The therapy was long, hard, and difficult but I made it through. You have to be dedicated and
hard working to make it through the process. I returned play my junior year and played the full
season. I have had little to no problems with my arm since. The surgery changed and saved my
baseball career and I ll always be thankful for Dr. Jobe s fantastic

We, The United States of America should have it to where people are not required to help
people in lower income countries, neighborhoods, etc. People should start a charity, and then
people that care about it can pay for it and then the people of the United States of America will
not be held back by the ropes of taxes and be free to have cheaper taxes. Then the democrats and
the green party will see what the government should really be like and not very resistant to where
people will be going into poverty. Then people will understand that the government is very
confusing right now, and people will be happy with lowering taxes and then the government will be
one closer step to having everything simple and figured out
The government is taking people money in taxes which is doing both making taxes very high
while doing that it makes people that are already having trouble with taxes. Now that we added
this it is going to be almost impossible for some people to live in this economy and the
government also gives the money from people to other people that are in a low income country.
This all started when people when into poverty and could not afford to keep people in their
business so then it made it to where the people that owned the business go bankrupt and not be able

Federal False Claims Act Case Study
For years, a small portion of the annual budget has been going to companies who overcharge the
United States government. The Federal False Claims Act was enacted to help protect the
government from being swindled by these contractors for their goods and services. The act helps
the United States pursue litigation against those companies and people who commit these acts of
fraud. Accountants help play a large part in the litigation process by serving as an expert witness.
They also assist in providing evidence to show whether the company knowingly when overcharging
the government. The cases that arise from the Federal False Claims Act come from fraud
allegations and whistle blower allegations. With any business deal or contracts there are often...

Proof of intent to defraud is not required under the Federal False Claims Act and because of this the
court utilizes accountants to see if companies acted knowingly. Accountants help the court
understand things such as costs in the contract, measurement of costs, damages from fraud and
accounting concepts and rules in regards to the contract. An accountant s expertise in investigating
companies business practices and their records is very valuable to litigation and claims in under the

The Aeneid By Virgil. Johan Sunesson
The Aeneid by Virgil
Johan Sunesson
The Aeneid, written around 20 BC is widely considered to be virgil s greatest work. The Aeneid
is a epic poem, following the adventures of the great Aeneas, as well as the central role he played
in the founding of the Roman State. The character of Aeneas had been a known legend long before
the Aeneid was composed, having been a character in the Iliad. Virgiltook the myth of Aeneas and
tied him together with the founding of the Roman State.

Aeneas father comes to him in a vision and commands him to travel to the underworld, wherein he

that of the Roman state itself.
Our hero returns from the world of the dead, and yet again looks to his destiny and sets sail to Italy.
They arrive in the land of the Latins, Latium. Once again Aeneas finds himself with womanly
problems. He is courting the princess Lavinia, daughter of the king Latinus. Latinus does not

He finds them in enemies of the Latins. Notably the Tuscans and the Arcadians agree to march with

Battle ensues, with the Trojans, Tuscans and Arcadians finding the most victories across the land.
In a futile attempt to save the Latin people, Mezentius, a latin warrior, offers to face Aeneas in
single combat. He is beaten by Aeneas, but the Latins dishonor the agreement and keep on fighting
the Trojans.

Napoleon Bonaparte Major Accomplishments
Napoleon Bonaparte was a great French military leader in the 1800s. He was very famous for
his bravery. Some of the topics that I am going to talk about is how Napoleon s childhood was
very interesting, what were some of his amazing accomplishments and what were some of the
wars that created chaos. The main thing is that Napoleon left behind a huge legacy and changed
Europe forever. Napoleon Bonaparte was born on August 15, 1769. When Napoleon was small, he
wanted to be a British Naval Commander. For this reason, he went to naval school but changed his
mind and wanted to learn artillery. His parents sent him to a military boarding school called
Brienne le ChГўteau. The first four classes would teach general topics such as reading, writing,
history, and the use of arms. The second class would be divided into those boys who were
destined for a civil career, and those destined for a career in the military. The main thing about his

The Role Of Immigrants In Germany
One thing unites Khuê Pham, Özlem Topçu and Alice Bota: They are German citizens and the
children of migrants in a country that has long struggled to define its relationship with foreigners
(Lindsey), these three girls know firsthand what it is like to be a different than everyone around
you. Although they have only ever known Germanyas home themselves, German natives see them
differently because their family did not originate in Germany. This real world example attests to this
country s previous outlook on immigration, sometimes even current outlook. There are many
different factors that can contribute to the decision to migrate, and Germany has been a prime
location for immigrants. Population, economics, political indicators, and cultural perspectives are
some examples of these factors. Most immigrants choose Germany for the job opportunities, and
arrive as guest workers. According to the Federal Office of Migration and Refugees, there are a

Literature Review On Nurse To-Patient Ratios
Literature Review The topic of appropriate nurse to patient ratios has been a highly researched
subject for over a decade. Many researchers approach this topic by focusing on the effect that
high nurse to patient ratios have on patient outcomes often called nurse specific indicators . The
following includes a summary of five recent studies conducted on the cause and effect
relationship between high nurse to patient ratios and the increased occurrence of nurse specific
indicators (e.g. urinary tract infection, patient falls, central line associated blood stream
infections, etc). California passed Assembly Bill 394, making them the first state to pass a law
that required hospitals to limit the amount of patients included in a nurse s workload. The
California Assembly Bill 394 (AB394) was put into effect on January 1, 2004. In 2012 a study
was conducted to determine if mandated nurse to patient ratios actually had a positive impact on
patient outcomes. This study examined medical/surgical units in California hospitals. The data
used to compare outcomes before and after passing AB394 was from the year 2000 2002 for the
before data. The after data was from the years 2005 2006 (Cook, Gaynor, Stephens, Taylor, 2012).

decrease in adverse patient outcomes. One patient outcome specifically mentioned was hospital

into it after her shoes buckled beneath her. We will also request the Forever 21 manager s incident
report. There are elements of this report which could weaken our client s case: the manager stated
that Ms. Metroplex fell due to cork wedges, into the oily substance on the floor. Ms. Metroplex then
reviewed and signed this report. The defense will argue that the plaintiff s signature on this
document amounts to an admission of comparative negligence, removing liability from Forever 21
and its manager. We can argue that the Forever 21 manager s insistence on Ms. Metroplex signing
this incident report amounted to harassment and thus her signature was coerced and is invalid. The
incident report is also missing the statements and contact information of two witnesses. We will
want to track them down and get their statements, as they may be able to confirm or deny
information that the manager set forth in his incident

Review Of Twelve Steps To A Compassionate Life By Karen...
Compassion means to endure with other person, to put ourselves in somebody s else shoes. It is
a feeling of empathy, which in other words is to feel someone s pain as though if it were our
own. The book Twelve Steps to a Compassionate Life by Karen Armstrong, discusses a set of
different steps people should follow in order to be compassionate. Armstrong emphasizes in the
importance of compassion in the world. The world is surrounded with problems that we do not
know how to solve and by being compassionate to one another we can create a compassionate and
peaceful world. Every person in this earth has the possibility to be compassionate to others and this
includes treating each other a they wish to be treated, which in most cases is with dignity,... Show

As stated before, some of the steps to take into consideration are steps one and three, which are
to learn more about compassion and to have compassion for ourselves. Nevertheless, step seven,
how little we know is another of the crucial steps to create a change in our value system. This
step consists of understanding that we are not always right. There are a lot of problems that need
to be solved in our lives therefore we must examine our ideas by understanding how little we
know. It is a good and important beginning because people are able to listen to one another.
Thinking e know it all only blocks our knowledge and immediately pushes us backwards. Thinking
we know more than other people only creates a feeling of superiority. Giving people the opportunity
to speak their thought while listening to them, leads to respect for others and respect for
ourselves, which is a wonderful opportunity. Armstrong refers to this step as a step that helps
people to become wiser. For instance, Armstrong said that a person might think they know
something when they don t, and someone that does not know it or even think they know it have
a higher possibility of becoming wiser (p. 99). They are more likely to become wiser because they
are open minded where as the other person is blocking all the other ideas because he thinks he is
superior to

Pursuing A Life At College
At the average age of eighteen, every student must decide what their future will entail. Some
students will choose to skip college to dive into ministry, military training, or work. Many students,
however, do decide to pursue a life at college. In the United States alone, there are approximately
5,300 different colleges/universities from which a studentcan choose. This substantial number of
colleges often leaves a student overwhelmed, confused, and stressed over finding their perfect
college. As I have researched, I have narrowed my perfect college choices down to two very
different options, Baylor Universityand Lee University. Baylor University was founded in 1844 by

who has 4,575 with 251 international students (5%). Not only is there a drastic size difference,
but also a drastic cost difference. Baylor charges a total of $56,776 a year. This large total can be
divided up into six categories: tuition $36,360, various fees $4,038, room and board $11,140,
books and supplies $1,276, transportation $1,174, and personal expenses $2,788. Lee is 48%
cheaper coming in at a total of $27,500. This cost can be divided into four categories: tuition
$14,280, room and board $7,520, books and supplies $1,200, and personal expenses $4,500.
Accompanying the 16,787 students at Baylor are 119 majors and 77 minors. Lee, on the other
hand, has 105 majors and 52 minors. Although both universities have similar options, Baylor has
more of the basic college majors and minors. Lee, however, has more specialized courses. For
example, Lee offers four different options for Discipleship Ministry major. Both Baylor and Lee
are Christian universities who practice pursuing after Christ in their college activities. Lee has
chapel twice a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays) with students being required to attend 70% of the
chapels per a semester. Most of Lee s chapels are simply worship led by both students and well
known artists, but they do often have speakers as well. Baylor has chapel twice a week (Mondays

developing our primary models with a smaller sample of data. After finalizing the model with the
full data set, we answer questions such as to what extent length of road, traffic jams, residential
heating systems, etc. contribute to Tehran s air pollution.

Cameron s Use Of Camera Images In Avatar
Photography and imagery has seemed to attempt to serve one main purpose: accuracy. When
people use photographs in most of today s society, it is to show factual evidence that their
arguments and story are true. Two early devices that have shaped the use of photography are the
camera obscura and the stereoscope. Both use the eyes to attempt to create accurate depictions of
the world around them, especially in trying to allow people to see the parts of the world that are
foreign to them. The stereoscope s more objective representation of the world over the camera
obscura is used in James Cameron s Avatar as representations of how civilized populations skew the

James Cameron uses the natural world and how it works as a symbol of the unknown savages
that were target of American and European imperialist conquests and other parts of the unknown,
uncivilized world. The American group of military and science believe they are getting a true
view of the indigenous people on Pandora, a totally new environment for them. While a lot of the
scientists go into the world of Pandora using the bodies of the Na vi, immersing themselves into
the world as if they were looking at it in a stereoscopic way, the human society remains in the
camera obscura way of viewing the world: misinterpreted with details missing and disconnected.
They rely on the methods of science and what they learned from history about different races to
gather a picture of what they think life on Pandora is. There is a difference between the outside
world and the inside laboratories that they observe from, creating a disconnect between the reality
and the representation. Much like the World Fairs or the colonial idea of savagery, the humans take
on a belief that they are getting a true representation of the world around them, but in reality, they
are missing vital pieces to the puzzle. The Na vi connect with the world in a much different manner.

In the production of Ribbed Smoked Sheets and Air Dried Sheets, latex from the trees is carried
back to the rolling house for processing. In certain cases where the plantation is located far away
from the rolling house, ammonia is added to the latex to prevent early coagulation. Early
coagulation of rubber particles before the processing stage leads to the production of low grade
sheets and hence an economic loss. If ammonia is added to prevent early coagulation, then higher
amounts of acid are required during the coagulation stage. At the rolling house the latex is mixed
with water in a ratio of 2:1 to improve its consistency, and formic acid (5ml each tray) which helps
in coagulation. A mixture of 2 litres rubber

Essay On Asylum In Russia
Throughout history, Russians have left their homeland to apply for asylum in other countries. A
large number of Russians came to the US to apply for asylum during the 1980s and the 1990s
because of all the problems occurring in the Soviet Union and the freedom that the US offered. The
main issues that took place in Russia included Jewish persecution and pogroms. Although they
endured a tough life in their homeland, Russians came to the US with hopes of being granted
asylum. Luckily, many Russians were granted asylum, so they could live a free, successful life in
the US.
The main reason why Russians have left their homeland was because of Jewish persecution. During
the 1980s and the 1990s, the Jewish religion was forbidden to be practiced in the Soviet Union,
along with a few other religions. Russia consists of one of the world s largest Jewish communities,
so many Jews living in Russia were discriminated against and faced prejudice. Jews living in the
Soviet Union were under strict government control. For example, Hebrew study was banned and
printing Jewish calendars was prohibited. In addition, it was forbidden to print Jewish books. In fact,

As a result of the violent pogroms, Jews were injured and killed. Also, Jewish communities,

My Experience Of Swimming
Swimming demands nothing short of perfection.
I was ten when I first entered into a major Swimming competition, a stepping stone towards
achieving my dreams. Hours were poured into training and sacrifices made simply for a perfect
race to the podium. I had arrived 3 hours earlier, and to my dismay that the competition had been
delayed. My parents hid their apparent annoyance, in hope that the long wait would prove its
worth, yet only to find out it actually was not. The long wait took its toil on me and panic
overcame me at the starting blocks. In a field of 8 swimmers, the number 8 flashed brightly against
my name, glistening tears welled up in my eyes as failure washed over me.
I hated that part of Swimming. It washed away hours and years of work and sacrifices, dashed the

In that sense, perfectionism is like a drug, an insidious poison that infiltrates every part of me. A
self induced madness that one moment raises me to the pinnacle of elation, and the next drags me
to the darkest recesses of frustration and disappointment. Sometimes I think I would trade up almost
anything for one more hit of that pleasure, almost completely regardless of the consequence.
Everyone has a side of him or her that may ultimately lead to their downfall. Mine is, of no doubt,
my obsession with perfection. It is a question I face with on a daily basis: How far am I willing to
go to attain that perfection, to turn my ideals into reality?
At then, for most, the answer to the question is simple: As far as I want to. For me, the answer was
even simpler, though much complicated: All the way. Even if it means giving up the things that
should matter the most, I guess I was blinded looking through the lenses of

Scandal In Bohemia Vs Departures Essay
A study of Sir Conan Doyle s short story, A Scandal in Bohemia and Yojiro Takita s film,
Departures effectively present discovery as an inevitable aspect of human condition that transcends
the impediments of time. Both texts highlight that the discovery of weaknesses leads to new
perspectives as it instils understanding, which are significant aspects of the human condition. While
Doyle employs literary techniques to express various forms of flaws and respect, Takita
manipulates various cinematic techniques to convey underlying aspects of human nature. While
these composers offer differing perspectives, both composers demonstrate the timelessness of
discovery and its vitality for the human condition. It is apparent Doyle believes that the discovery
of weakness is a vital aspect of the human condition. This can be seen through the characterization

Celibacy in the Ministry of the Catholic Church
Introduction
The church has a large influence over the people, from the ancient times up until our modern age.
The church, as we know it, is composed of various members who all contribute to fulfill a holy
calling, and one of its constituents, who work closely with the public, are the priests. They make up
the embodiment of the Catholic Church, their very existence is what makes the church operate as it
is, meaning that they have an essential role to the Catholic system. With this in mind, priests
represent the very image of the church so issues associated with the priests are also identified in
relation to the church. As of now, there have already been various matters concerning the conduct
of priests instigated by society. One of these said issues are
Celibacy is the act of abstinence from marriage implicitly or explicitly made, for a more

celibacy has been observed by the Church for centuries with a high recognition, and retains its

undergone such profound changes. Amid the modern stirrings of opinion, a predisposition has
been expressed, to ask the Church to reconsider this specific convention. It is said that in the world
of our time the observance of celibacy has come to be difficult or even impossible. Necessity

Use the Internet to research and evaluate two (2) commercial HR database systems for your

The two Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) that need to be considered in this

be delivered either via on premise licensing or via the Software as a Service(SaaS) model. SAP
recently acquired SuccessFactors, the leading enterprise performance company that dominates the

Chemical Formula Review
Chemical Formulas Review: Nomenclature and Formula Writing
Naming Simple Compounds
There are four naming systems you should familiarize yourself with to succeed on the SAT II
Chemistry exam. The trick is recognizing which naming system to use. Here are the guidelines: * If
the compound starts with H, it is an acid. Use the naming acids rules. * If the compound starts with
C and contains quite a few H s and perhaps some O s, it is organic. Use the naming organic
compounds rules. * If the compound starts with a metal, it is most likely ionic. Use the naming
binary ionic compounds rules. * If the compound starts with a nonmetal other than H or C, use the
naming binary molecular compounds rules.

Naming Organic Compounds
How do you know it s organic? The formula will start with a C followed by H s. Most of the
organic carbons you will encounter will be either hydrocarbons or alcohols, and luckily for you,
these are the simplest of all to name. Learn the list of prefixes in the table following this section:
they correspond to the number of carbons present in the compound. The following silly statement
will help you remember the order of the first four prefixes since they are not ones you are familiar
with: Me eat peanut butter. This corresponds to meth , eth , prop , and but , which correspond to
one, two, three, and four carbons, respectively.
Now that we have a stem, we need an ending. There are three common hydrocarbon endings; the
ending changes depending on the structure of the molecule: * ane = alkane (all single bonds and
saturated); CnH2n+2; saturated: it contains the maximum number of H s * ene = alkene (contains
double bond, unsaturated); CnH2n *

These distinctive qualities will be very useful in reaching the widest demographics. Assessing new
market segment will be extremely helpful in determining the common interests and needs of the
customer. Mr. Jeong will excel at this task because it is action oriented assignment that permits her
to interact with people.
Perform Market Analysis
Moving into new market segments also requires a substantial amount of market research and
statistical analysis. The objective of a market analysis is to define the potential of a new market
segment, today and in the future. The team must have a comprehensive understanding of market
growth rates, projected demand, and chief competitors. Furthermore, all impending obstacles must
be addressed prior to entering a new market segment. To thoroughly comprehend the market place,
it is imperative that the team has a good data analyst. Mr. Damian Ona is very comfortable
working with numbers, and is well suited, and qualified to perform in the capacity as the team s
market analyst. He enjoys analysis and will compile the relevant data in a logical order so that it
can be articulated intelligently to senior level management. While Mr. Ona is a superb analyst, the

Nowadays, Society Promotes An Idea That Everybody Should
Nowadays, society promotes an idea that everybody should think critically and be innovative.
This new idea let many people get confused and wonder whether we humans have the ability to
actually be able to control our mind. It seems like we did because we each has unique ideas.
While as a matter of fact, we don t. We don t have the control of our own minddue to our instinct of
imitation and being easily controlled by the social trend. In Blackmore s essay Strange Creatures ,
she claims that people become hosts of memes because each meme passes from one person to
another easily and also through people s special abilities of imitation. In Lauren Slater s essay Who

Accepting others ideas becomes a subliminal reaction for us and after hearing that we remember
that without a doubt. After a long time, we intentionally think that s our own ideas instead of
someone else s. In Slater s passage, it is also easier to treat someone else s ideas as our own. The
patient, Mario has electrode implanted in his brain to control obsessive compulsive disorder. Mario
s treatment was actually mind control because the doctor holds the clicker to control him. As a
matter of fact, it is unethical because Mario himself did not do all the controlling, the doctors
did. Doctors controls human s feeling and OCD rituals with immediacy which made Mario has
an illusion that his treatment is almost done and soon he will be cured. Doctors treatment did let
Mario be permanently fine for his mental disease but he was not fundamentally treated. The
neurological implants could mess up with people s emotion, cause more complication. Heath
discovered that electrodes placed in the hippocampus, the thalamus or the tegmentum could
produce states of rage of fear, while electrodes placed in brain s septal area and part of the
amygdala could produce feeling of pleasure. (Slater 277) By controlling people s electrodes in
their brain, doctors could control their emotion and how they feel. So as a matter of fact, his life is
totally tied up with the doctor. He used to live

The sweet smell of garlic, tickles your nose as you park your car. Its sweet aroma guides your
taste buds to the unassuming establishments were the Italian flavor lingers in the air. First
Impression: The Big Cheese Italian Restaurant lives up to its name. When you first drive up, the

All the entrees came just as we finished the wings and calamari. We had encountered difficulty
finishing the Caesar Salad. The combination of pepperoni, mushrooms, sausage, onions, green
peppers , black olives, ham and mozzarella complimented each other as the flavors and remnants
oozed out of the fresh dough. The red sauce that accompanied the Calzone had an extra hint of
garlic which is the aroma that is used in many of the dishes that came past our table. It was very
hard concentrating on what we order when all the dishes that came past us smelled and looked
so good. Dessert: Tiramisu and Double Chocolate Mousse Cake called from the menu. Since the
meal was so filling, we took our dessert home. The next morning the tiramisu was just as I
expected with the right amount of liqueur. My taste buds were not disappointed and although it
was not intended for breakfast, I was completely satisfied with my choice of desserts. They are a
sponsor for the University of Miami and it shows. The takeout counter has a bristling business on
a Friday night. Many of the patrons at the restaurant were donning U of M jerseys and the like.
Our bottle of water had the University of Miami logo on the face and we were happy to support
the restaurants sponsorship of the football program. Service: Our server was excellent. She made
suggestions when we were torn on the dishes and provide recommendations for the Calzone and

Blackfoot Tribe
Some may argue that Native Americans live a decent life with the aid that the United States has
given them. Americans feel that the reservations that Native Americans are given is the proper way
to respect their lands and culture, by allowing them to have a small portion of what was once all of
their territory. According to USA.gov, there is the National Tribal Preservation Program to help
tribes protect resources and traditions important to them. This provides Native American tribes with
the assistance that they need to maintain their way of life and cultural ideals. Yet Blackfoot Indians
have been forcibly migrated and partially integrated into society without any aid. The United States
government has neglected the Blackfoot Indians by degrading their cultureand subjecting them into

The tribe is living in rural and substandard conditions of housing and healthcare simply because
the United States would like to obtain the resources that their land provides. With this
knowledge, the tribe now faces pressure from more than just the government because their land
produces a natural resource. Globally, the Blackfeet will have to deal with the economic issues
of knowing that they have a resource on their land that can produce income for the state and they
do not use it. Already having to deal with the problem of simply being Native American, having
the stress and pressure of possibly having to destroying their land for income is a large problem
that the Blackfeet face. Though the tribe faces may problems in their societies and economically,
they still grow and persevere as a tribe. The Native American tribe of the Blackfoot Indians are a
large native society that have a very eclectic form of religion and an incredible spirit of endurance.
Although they are being persecuted for their land and resources, the Blackfeet find ways to keep

  • 2. Human Trafficking In America Slavery is when persons are owned and controlled by other persons, and they have little to no freedom. In Eastern Europe slavery ended in 1528, but human trafficking has been going on for thousands of years. A few decrees did not stop the horrible crime called human trafficking. By definition human trafficking is modern day slavery; people that are victims are imprisoned and worked until they are physically unable to any longer. Many people turn a blind eye to human trafficking. Despite the minimal efforts of various governments Eastern European humantrafficking is on the rise, leading to an increase in the economic exploration of the victims of human trafficking. • 3. Graffiti In Australia Overnight a paste up, created by Baby Guerrilla, has been placed on a wall in West Footscray. As a member of the arts committee, I contend that this piece of art shall remain, but not be sustained. It is undeniable that street art is a prominent part of Melbourne s culture. A vital component of street art is the fact that it is impermanent. This is one of the countless factors that separates it from traditional art featured in studios, museums, and homes. Street artholds the purpose to be seen then and there, therefore its removal or sustainment would defeat this purpose. On the website of Baby Guerrilla she stated that she believes in the idea of setting art free, setting our souls free to dream and imagine and go floating across a wall. • 4. List Price And Agent Feedback On The Weekly Calls As RMS has indicated many times, based on our observations and more importantly on the review of assets during our weekly calls with Altisource, RMS continues to believe on many of these assets, the condition or location of the property is the primary driver behind not only the large reduction in list price, but ultimately a sales price well below the initial list price, all of which contribute to extended days on market and increased carrying costs incurred by the trust. This is an ongoing issue observed with Altisource and discussed on the weekly calls. List price continues to be the biggest concern and is a frequent topic during our weekly target assets and RMS raises these issues on an asset level basis, reviewing activity, property condition, agent feedback and offers (or lack thereof). RMS continues to review assets where we believe the list price set by Altisource is high relative to our opinion of market value. On listed assets with DOM of more than 60 days and no offers, RMS and Altisource discuss the list price and agent feedback to understand why offers have not been received. RMS targets these assets for review every 2 weeks. Another recent observation is a continued increase in the number of assets in pending contracts that fall out because the buyer fails to return the purchase agreement. RMS continued to observe this in January 2016. We believe this relates to the process by which Altisource sells REO assets (on the HUBZU website), where ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A good man is hard to find analysis 3/4/12 A Good Man is Hard to Find Analysis EN 102 In the short story A Good Man is Hard to Find the author, Flannery O Connor communicates literary symbols and prominence of Southern culture. Within the story, there are subtle yet important details that make the entirety of the piece as iconic as it is. The reoccurring theme of being a lady and moral codes both are important to the overall concept of the story. The unnamed grandmother in A Good Man Is Hard to Find considers herself morally superior to others by her being a lady, and she freely and frequently passes judgment on other people within the story. With his violent killing, the Misfit seems an unlikely source to look to for guidance, but he demonstrates a deep conviction that the other characters lack. Unlike the grandmother, who simply assumes that she is morally superior to everyone else, the Misfit seriously questions the meaning of life and his role in it. He has carefully considered his actions in life and examined his experiences to find lessons within them. He has even renamed himself because of one of these lessons, believing that his punishment didn t fit the crime. He reveals a self awareness that the grandmother lacked and questions it. He knows he is not a great man, but he also knows that there are others worse than him. He forms rudimentary philosophies, such as no pleasure but meanness and the crime don t matter. Big Bang Theory Or A Big Fabrication Adair Day AP English IV Mrs. Britt Collins 14 March 2016 Big Bang Theory or a Big Fabrication The concept of creation has boggled human s minds for centuries. Human nature has an intuitive sense of longing for an answer to solve the unknown, and creation embodies the concept of unknown. In an effort to compile reason and scientific knowledge, an explanation of the formation of the universe was formed and is widely known as The Big Bang Theory. The Big Bang Theory is considered, ...the leading scientific explanation for the formation of the universe (Howell). The Big Bang Theory articulates that before this event there was nothing; and after it there was something. This suggestion to how the universe was created was originally born from the sighting that the surrounding galaxies are moving away from our own at an immense speed as if they had been propelled by some force (Howell). The standard theory states that the entire universe originated as a condensed, infinitely pressured, singularity, which defies the laws of today s understanding of physics. It is a misconception this event occurred as an explosion; rather it resembled more of an expansion. At one moment there was nothing in existence and in the following, the universe expanded as a balloon would, from a sub atomic particle, to all that it is today. This notion of how the universe was created, is nothing more than a shot into the dark, literally, and holds no validity. At this exact moment there are roughly 100,000 ... The narrator s journey and discoveries reveal that the not all knowledge is true. This discovery will influence his knowledge and actions for the remainder of his life. The way Benet uses the truth is by giving certain people like the priest s information to control the society in which they live in. On John s journey for truth and knowledge, he makes the highly significant discovery that the Place of the Gods was just a city, and that the Gods themselves were not actually gods; in fact, they were men, just like him and his people. When people use photographs in most of today s society, it is to show factual evidence that their arguments and story are true. Two early devices that have shaped the use of photography are the camera obscura and the stereoscope. Both use the eyes to attempt to create accurate depictions of the world around them, especially in trying to allow people to see the parts of the world that are foreign to them. While Doyle employs literary techniques to express various forms of flaws and respect, Takita manipulates various cinematic techniques to convey underlying aspects of human nature. While these composers offer differing perspectives, both composers demonstrate the timelessness of discovery and its vitality for the human condition.
