Logistics, Management and Strategy
THE FUNDAMENTAL OF LOGISTIC MANAGEMENT AND STRATEGY
Xi Er Dang
Abstract
This paper provides a basic but fundamental understanding of logistic primarily based on the book
of Logistics Management and Strategy by Harrison and van Hoek. It will guide you through from
the basic definition and concepts to the different supply chain strategies that exist, as well as
providing a perception on the future logistic development. Explanation of principal terms like
logistic, supply chain management and supply network is discussed, and important logistic systems
like just in time, lean thinking and agile strategies are deliberated. Different ways of working
together within the supply chain is debated, where there are different ways of sharing ... Show more

(2004). The partners or suppliers which are near the source and thus the production until the focal
firm are referred to as upstream (buyer side) (Harrison and van Hoek 2005). In contrary to the
partners or first and second tier customers which deliver to the final end customer are referred to as
downstream (customer side). However, all partners are responsible of adding value to the end
customer in each process they conduct, where the process can be explained as transforming inputs
to outputs. (ibid.) Another term which is similar to supply chain is supply network, where both
terms describe the objective of serving the end customer through the linkage of different partners.
Harland et al.‟s 2001 study (cited in Harrison and van Hoek 2005, p.10) distinct the term
network and chain as following: network as a complex structure of cross linkages between
organizations, and chain as a simple step by step link of few organizations. Harrison and van Hoek
(2005) points out that the supply network should be looked at as a system where there must be an
understanding of how all process are interacting with each other on a dependent way.
Competing through logistics
Harrios and van Hoek (2005) describe four ways of creating logistic advantage in which they
contributes to the competitive advantages of the company. The first way is to compete through
quality where the symptoms of quality problems signify

Advantages And Disadvantages For Ivf
IVF
1INTRODUCTORY
2PROCESS OF IVF
There are actually different treatments for IVF and in this part, we will focus on Intracytoplasmic
sperm injection (ICSI).
For Women
1.Take fertility drugs to stimulate ovaries to produce more eggs
2.Collect eggs
3.Inject each egg with a single sperm from your partner or donor
4.Apply single embryo transfer
For Men
1.Collect sperm
2.Examine sperm to see whether ICSI would increase of chance of pregnancy
3.A) If the sperm can increase the chance of pregnancy, fresh sperm will be collected on the same
day as the egg.
B) If the male s sperm cannot increase the chance a) Collect sperm from epididymis, known as
percutaneous epididymal sperm aspiration or PESA. b) Collect sperm from testicles, known as
testicular sperm aspiration or TESA. c) Take a small quantities of testicular tissue from sperm
which can be collected, known as testicular sperm extraction or TESE d) If the male has stored

The chances of having multiple birth will increase from the fertility drugs, it also increase the risk
of having premature babies or babies with low birth weight etc. IVF treatment can also be
expensive, it is around USD$13000 per treatment. Women need to take medication and blood test
before the treatment, they often has to take more than 1 cycle of IVF treatment, which sometimes
women thinks it is highly emotive and stressful for their family finance and they end up in
emotional/psychological toll. As women age, the success rate of pregnancy and birth decreases,
from 46.7 and 40.7 at the age lower than 35, to 8.6 and 3.9 at the age higher than

Sexual Transmitted Diseases ( Std )
SEXUAL TRANSMITTED DIEASES Sexual transmitted diseases (STD) also known as
sexually transmitted infection, affect men and women of all ages, races, educational levels, and
religious beliefs. STDs are often more sever in women than in men, because they are more likely
to be more asymptomatic of the signs and symptoms that appear later in the disease curse in
women than in men. (Matteucci, R (2015) Lack of these symptoms in women associated with
having a STD leads to late diagnosis and treatment, which in return leads to increased
complications. Pelvic Inflammatory disease also known as (PID), is a cause of complications of
untreated women and STDs. African American women are 2 3 times higher than white women to

(Sutton A. L. (2006). Genital warts can be 1 millimeter small in diameter or multiply into
clusters. In women warts can grow in the vula, the walls of the vagina area between external
genitals, the anus, and cervix. Men intend to get them on the tip or shaft of the penis, the
scrotum, and anus. They can appear in the mouth, or throat of both men and women. You can
now have a HPV vaccine to stop people from contracting this condition, it comes in a three series
form of shots. Hepatitis is another form of STD you can contract hepatitis a, b, and c and they
are all highly contagious viral infections, that affects the liver it causes the liver to become
inflamed. Some people have no symptoms and the people that due they accrue around several
weeks after contracting it. They include fever, itching, yellowing of whites of the eyes and skin,
better known as Jaundice, muscle, or joint pain and fatigue, loss of appetite and abdominal pain,
dark urine, nausea and vomiting, discomfort in the area of the liver on your right side beneath the
lower ribs. Syphilis is a bacterial infection. It can affect the genitals, brain heart, skin and mucous
membranes. It can include many other areas as well. In 2012 there were 9.3 cases per 100,000
men and that was more than ten times higher than the rate of women. (Capel, C (2015). Symptoms

Connotation In Le Message Photographique, By Roland Barthes
In le message photographique ( Communications 1, 1961), roland barthes states that photography is
a message without a code . According to him, the photographic image, as a reproduction of reality,
functions, in a first and more fundamental level, according to the regime of denotation . The
denotative impression that an image arouse, Barthes observes, is so intense to make any
description impossible considering that describing an image means to add to the denoted message a
codified message of second level: the verbal language. The denotation, however, does not exclude
connotation, instead, it is exactly the paradox of photography: the coexistence of two messages one
without a code, the other one codified. Connotation always has an historical cultural... Show more

Apparently, none since the point that photography, by its nature, can t help to denote the
external world. Barthes, indeed, defines photography as a message without a code . However,
is the same Barthes, in the la camera chiara, to clamorously deny this theory admitting that he
can t include in his book an old photo portraying his mother as a kid in a winter garden. Why he
refuses to include a picture that he could use to develop his reflections about the topic? Because,
as he states, that photo exists just for himself, for us would not be more than a random photo, one
of the myriad representation of the ordinary; it cannot be the visual object of a science, it cannot
establish an objectivity , we can might be interest just from a cultural point of view: epoch,
clothes etc. He realises that his readers do not have the code to interpret it in the right way. it
becomes an allegory because, even remaining a codified language ,it stop to be common property
of a culture and it became an intimate language, personal, that no one apart form the subject itself

What Is The Characteristics Of Gram Positive Or Gram...
Introduction:
There are two major classes of bacteria that contain peptidoglycan, Gram positive and Gram
negative. Gram positive bacteria will stain dark purple due to their thick peptidoglycan cell wall,
while Gram negative will stain pink due to their thin peptidoglycan cell wall. Many Gram positive
and negative bacteria are considered pathogens because they are capable of causing disease in
humans. In order to treat properly individuals who are infected with a pathogenic Gram positive or
Gram negative bacteria, the identity of the bacteria must be found. In this experiment numerous,
differential and selective media, as well as chemical test, were used to evaluate the growth patterns
and characteristics of clinically relevant bacteria. Data collected from the specific results was used
to create a chart that was used to identify an unknown Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria.
The genus Staphylococcus is a Gram positive cocci that is commonly arranged in grapelike clusters.
They are universally present in large numbers on the mucous membranes and skin of humans and
other warm blooded animals. They are non spore forming, nonmotile, facultative anaerobes. Many
species of staphylococcus can be pathogenic. Staphylococcus aureus is the most common pathogen.
It can be recovered from skin lesions, abscesses, and wound infections. It can move from these sites
to the bloodstream and urine, where it then has the possibility to cause more serious conditions in
various organs.

ACTIVITY 1 The Resting Membrane Potential 1.Explain why increasing extracellular K+
reduces the net diffusion of K+ out of the neuron through the K+ leak channels. ___The
concentration of extracellular K+ ions would be high and this would prevent more K+ ions
from diffusing out of the cell. 2.Explain why increasing extracellular K+ causes the membrane
potential to change to a less negative value. How well did the results compare with your
prediction? ___ My prediction was that the membrane potential will not change and that was
wrong because the resting membrane potential changed from 40V to 0V. This happened because
K+ diffuse out across the membrane and they leave a net negative charge behind. ___ ___
3.Explain why a change in extracellular Na+ did not alter the membrane potential in the resting
neuron. ___ _There are less leakage channels for Na+ compared to K+_that s why it didn t alter
the membrane potential in the resting neuron._ 4.Discuss the relative permeability of the
membrane to Na+ and K+ in a resting neuron. ___ _ The resting neuron is 4 to 5 times more
permeable to K+ then to Na+ because of the leakage channels._ ___ 5.Discuss how a change in
Na+ or K+ conductance would affect the resting membrane potential. ___ _There would be a
greater change in the resting membrane potential in K+ than in Na+ because of more K+

Essay on Reflections on The Tao Te Ching
Reflections on The Tao Te Ching When the early Christians had to keep their faith against the
persecutions of the Roman Empire, they had obviously a visible enemy. Once their religion was
legalized and established, however, they had new questions to ask concerning who they were, what
could hurt their souls and their way of life. Some of them, at least, concluded that the materialism of
the dominant Roman way of life was a non agressive, but equally corrosive force that would destroy
them not physically, but spiritually. These Fourth Century Christians, men and women, then left
their societies and withdrew into the desert to be able to find true paradise, not in a safe, secure
niche in society, but in their relationship with... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This assertion has always involved universally several profoundly felt assumptions. 1. That
humans, unlike all other creatures, are called upon to develop, to become better than they are. 2.
That to be most fully human requires individual choice and development by cooperative action
with identifiable but demanding conditions. 3. That these conditions are truly universal,
applicable and available to all people and in that sense absolute both in practice and in idea. In
The Bhagavad Gita, for example, the poet says that whenever he reads the words of Krishna to
Arjuna he enters into the Gita s predicament and experiences a change of soul. Similarly the
Christian Gospels invite the hearers of the Word to participate in a divine life. 4. That there is
something or some others or some One who is outside and beyond us and divinely interested in
us as we succeed or fail at living up to our expectations. 5. That in stories, poems, myths, or
codes, the elements of what it means to be human, as well as the passages from one level of
awareness and life to another higher level, can be captured and shared, thus giving access to the
wisdom of the culture. This wisdom may take two forms collections of specific rules and/or stories
and poems that present the possibility of

The Normal Heart Analysis
In the rougher neighborhoods of Queens where I did a majority of my growing up, repression is
survival. Everyone keeps their heads down, shuffles to work in the morning, and shuffles back at
night. There s a pervasive culture of tragedy; it is everywhere: families torn apart by deportations,
young men taken by gang violence and guns, and young children missing mothers and fathers. But,
to survive, it must be as if none of that matters. Shuffle to work, shuffle back. My mother, a very
well educated womanand single parent, fought as hard as she could to provide me with the kind of
education that could pull me away from the dead ends that every other young person fell into. So
she worked double shifts, two jobs, and found a side hustle wherever she could to keep me in
private schools miles away. The sorts of schools that still had arts funding while in out
neighborhood that money had long been taken away.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I read stories and heard tales of people who were just like the people in my neighborhood. People,
now characters, who endured the same sort of loss and continued on bravely with humor and
humility, learning something and teaching me in turn. These plays, like The Normal Heart, and
August: Osage County allowed me to tell stories and to feel and empathize deeply. To look up at
the world instead of accept it, mourn it, keep my head down and shuffle to work and back.
I live my life to tell stories. All stories are beautiful and everyone deserves to see a face they
recognize telling them a story that explores the struggles they deal with daily. To know we are not
alone, and that art has a meaning full place in our lives as our teachers, is such a comfort. Art
teaches us to feel, it teaches us about ourselves, and how to empathize with others. It taught me
how to communicate something that could save a life in a tender, beautiful way. And it would be
my privilege to be able to do that with the rest of my

Ecclesiastes Wisdom
There is nothing that can stop wisdom. When you discover this power, you will become an
unstoppable threat to the kingdom of satan. Ecclesiastes Chapter nine mentions a king who
entered a small city and took total control of it, and kept the people in bondage by building
snares around it. The people lived under his communistic views and no one dared to confront
him. However, in that city there was found a poor wise man (Ecclesiastes 9:15), who was fed up
and tired of abuse and tired of living like a slave of men. He had no money, no influence, no
connections with other kings, nor was he trained to battle, yet he possessed one thing called
wisdom. With his wisdom he took that city out of the control of this king and he delivered it. The

Symptoms And Treatment Of Bipolar Disorder Essay
Bipolar disorder is a major mood disorder that includes the cycling of two parts; acute mania and
bipolar depression. There are many factors that affect the onset of bipolar disorder, such as genetics,
environment, and dysfunction in the brain. Due to its two part nature, various drugs have been
used as antidepressants or antipsychotics. Unfortunately, not all drugs have the ability to target both
aspects of bipolar disorder. As of right now there are various pharmacotherapeutics for bipolar
disorder, but two of the most widely used are Lithium treatments or Selective Serotonin Reuptake
Inhibitors (SSRIs). These are some of the primary treatments for bipolar disorder and even more
pharmacotherapeutics and methods are being developed to ensure that patients are utilizing them
properly.
There are many psychotropic drugs that have been tested over the years. Some drugs with
therapeutic effects aimed at the mania aspect of bipolar or the depression aspect of the disorder.
Lithium, is one of the first drugs to be specifically used for individuals with bipolar disorder. When
taking this drug, a lithium ion is used to interact with the various neurons. The exact mechanism is
still being discovered, but according to a review, the candidate cellular targets of lithium appear to
be enzymes such as inositol phosphatases and glycogen synthase, (Li et al., 2011, p. 78). Further
studies have also included Lithium effects as, ...demonstrated efficacy in reducing both the

The Noble Knight In Thomas Malory s Morte Darthur
During Malory s Morte Darthur , the noble knights such as Lancelot, Gawain, Agravain, and
Gareth represent the ideals of knightliness. Malory seems to be implying that Sir Lancelot
although King Arthur s biggest betrayer was still the noblest of knights despite his adultery. Sir
Lancelot during the story is portrayed as the measure in which all knights worth is metered by. As
just a knight Lancelot is held as the man of which many worship, slightly more than even King
Arthur, making Lancelot the main idol of the text. Being a knight nobility, honor, and worship was
an imperative skill in the role of leadership, for a leader often were those who had proven
themselves on and off the battlefield. For others to look over Sire Lancelot and Queen Guineveres
secret affair insinuates that they respected Sir Lancelot more than King Arthur. In Sir Thomas
Malory s Morte Darthur the implication of the story is that honor is obtained by holding up to the
responsibilities one may have more so than relationships they are involved in. Sir Agravain and Sir
Mordredbrought the Queen and Sir Lancelot s affair up amongst the group of knights. To a reader,
it shows a semi dislike to Sir Lancelot that they both would make such noise over this. Sir Gawain
reminds them both that they, must remember how often time Sir Lancelot hath rescued the King
and Queen (483). Gawain looks to Sir Lancelot as an honorable knight disbelieving that his fellow
knights would accuse him of such accusations.

Cause And Effect Of Macbeth Act 3
Act 3 is the most brutal and violent scene in Macbeth. Banquo, the general of King Duncan s
army, is murdered. However, this wasn t an accident as it was planned by Macbeth prior to it
happening. It all started when Macbeth explained to his servants why killing Banquo is a necessity,
and he expounds on his reasons in a speech that he recently wrote. The motive behind this erratic
idea is that Banquos kids will eventually take over the throne because that s what the witches
predicted, and they were not wrong the first time. Anyhow, Macbethcalls in two men and orders
them to killBanquo. Of course the men question Macbeth s orders and explain to him that We are
men, my liege (Line 94), meaning they aren t use to killing and doing such things.

A1 Steak Sauce Case
Problem / Issue
A.1. Steak Sauce is a brand of Kraft Foods with little competition in the steak sauce market. The
product currently has the majority dollar and volume market shares in the steak sauce market.
However, unit and volume sales have remained flat. In February of 2003, A.1. becomes aware of
new competition entering the steak sauce market. Lawry s, which is owned by Unilever, has
announced an April 1 launch of its own steak sauce. Lawry s has approached Publix and
requesting the Memorial Day ad with a two for $5 price. Publix is requesting that A.1. match Lawry
s pricing or A.1. will lose its place in the ad.
Alternatives and Analysis
A.1.. could mount a frontal attack on Lawry s. This would require A.1.. to lower its ... Show more

oA.1. has never been seriously challenged by another brand. Currently, A.1. has no reason to
believe that Lawry s could become serious competition.
Disadvantages o A.1. stands to lose part of its current market share due to the extreme price
difference between its steak sauce ($0.50 / ounce regularly) and Lawry s new steak sauce ($0.36
/ ounce regularly). o Currently A.1. is guaranteed to receive chief ad placements during the
important holiday weekends. If A.1. makes no changes, there is a high probability that A.1. will
lose these placements as Publix is already considering Lawry s for the Memorial Day ad.
Recommendation
I would recommend a combination of two of the alternatives above. First, I would recommend that
A.1. strengthen its relationships with its suppliers and distributors. Although A.1. would incur
additional expenses in the form of legal fees and sales representative time, the benefits it could
gain would be extremely useful in competing against Lawry s. A.1. would ensure a high quality
product, adequate shelf space, and principal display space. These would reinforce A.1. as the
preferred steak sauce and provide additional brand awareness. Second, I would recommend that
A.1. alter its advertising program for the upcoming year. With Lawry focusing on May, June, and
July with its advertising program, A.1. needs to match it to maintain its current brand awareness.
A.1. has been the number one brand of steak sauce people

Education Is What Brings Us Students Together
Education is what brings us students together. Many of us have the goal of receiving an
undergraduate degree successfully. Living on campus is an addition to the college and educational
experience. As a Resident Assistant my job is to help create an environment where residents can
achieve that goal. In addition, if residents come to me with academic issues, I will always try to

Cystochrome C Oxidase Lab Report
Intro When first learning about cells, students are told the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the
cell. While this is true, most of the energy made actually comes from the electron transport chain
that occurs on the inner membrane of the mitochondria. A series of proteins are active in the
electron transport chain, but the fourth one, cytochrome c oxidase, is the one that is important for
our purposes. Cytochrome c oxidase is a large integral protein, that is made up of several subunits,
some which provide the target of aspirin (Norman, C., et al.). The subunits together have a very
important role that is universal though eukaryotic cells. Cytochrome c oxidase can reduce 250
molecules of O in a second. The energy released from the oxidation... Show more content on

The R^2 value is only 0.9411, indicating that this line is not close to a perfect fit, which is also
seen from the relationship of the data points to the line, but it is accurate enough to give
something to go off of. From here the true concentration could be calculated by working the
calculations from the 40X and 100X solutions to the pure sample. Once the true concentrations
were known, the total protein in the samples could be calculated. The results of the calculations
are found in Table 1. By taking the calculated total protein, and the average cytochrome c oxidase
assay we are able to find the specific activity of cytochrome c. A negative value in the
cytochrome c oxidase assay was preferred, as that indicated less color than the cytochrome c
provided, and thus that cytochrome c oxidase was present to react. All negative numbers were
converted to positive numbers, and as there was no logical way for a higher concentration of
cytochrome c to occur, the samples that resulted in a positive result, were determined to be a
failure to detect the presence of cytochrome c oxidase. Samples 1, 3, and 4 did not have any
cytochrome c oxidase in them, and were therefore not capable of having a specific activity of
cytochrome c

The Nightmare of the West Memphis Three
In his article, The Nightmare of the West Memphis Three , Rich explores how the people of
Memphis drew horrific conclusions about people based on the lifestyle they chose to practice. The
article highlights the trials and tribulations faced by the accused three young teenagers. Rich does
this by citing the popular documentary series Paradise Lost which is an in depth analysis into the
lives of the accused, the victims families and members of the community. This paper outlines how
the belief system of that time superseded the inconclusive evidence, which ultimately led to an
unfair trial. By othering and marginalizing those three teens, the society and police created a
scenario that aligned with their belief system at the time.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another crucial point mentioned in the article is the power of perception and how media can
often times influence perception. One of the most powerful lessons of these films is how easily
our opinions about a crime can be influenced by the manner in which information is presented to
us (Rich, 2013). An example used is that of Hobbs. Rich mentions that throughout the first film
Hobbs appeared dazed and ruined over the death of his son. When they show the same footage in
the third film, he looks like a man who is trying to hide something. With this new context the
audience, watching began to see him in a different way. This is another way truth works as
Professor LaFleur explained in the Fall semester. In this case, the West Memphis Three supporters
sought to exonerate the accuse and accuse instead who they felt had committed the murders. The
case with the backing of many celebrities and supporters gained national notoriety. Their agenda,
which was blaming Hobbs, intensified in the documentary. With accusations, people who watched
would begin to see Hobbs in a different light. Anybody can support a claim with the right
evidence .This is something depicted in contemporary society and an example is the image of the
Hijab and what it means for Muslim women. The North American media as exemplified in lecture
and tutorial often depicts wearing Hijab as a kind of prison of Muslim women and as a image of
the strife and sexism that

Geography influences an individual worlds view in many ways. It impacts the location of where
you choose to live and where you would like to have your family. What you wear is influenced by
the geography also, because if the climate is colder you would have to wear more layers, unless
you would live to freeze and die but if you live in a warmer climatethey would have to wear less
layers. Geographywould also be influenced in what you value, for example if you live in Canada
you would value forests more because we have 9% of the forests on earth. The lifestyle of someone
who lives in japan would be very different from someone who lives in Canada would. How

five different thing; Customers, existing products and services, distribution channels, the federal
government, and research and development (Hisrich, 2013). Hisrich lays out these five different
channels but there are many other things that can produce a business idea, such as something as
simple as an entrepreneur having an issue in his/her life and creates something to make that
issue disappear. By far the most popular source of ideas among respondents was a frustration
that the founder experienced in his or her personal life. Ever wonder how much your own
problems might be worth? Ask Kent Plunkett, who founded Salary.com when hiring a secretary
and finding himself unsure of what to pay. After building the world s largest compensation
information database, Kent eventually took the company public in 2007 at a valuation of $175M
(Gulati, 2013). New business ideas are imperative for many companies survive within their
particular market due to the innovative nature of most markets in this era. One source of new
business ideas that the book shared is observing the existing products and services within a
market. So looking at what you or someone else s is producing and make it better through a new
design, new features make the product or service more user friendly or accessible, etc. Hisrich

The New Terrain And Distance Viewing
Now, I will give some commentary from my experiences playing alpha 15. As I had mentioned,
in my previous article, I rather like the new terrain and distance viewing. I am indeed excited
about the new possibilities it offers for building things (as I rather like to construct buildings and
make my own small towns). I have begun to explore the buildings possibilities, which I will get
into later.
The dynamic of progression for production has changed. The change in the steel perk, the
increased number of things which need the work bench to craft them, the new components, and
the new things to craft have changed things. It used to be that I could get the steel perk so easily
that I could basically skip iron crafting versions of things, and go straight to steel axes, and steel
picks. I cannot do that anymore. Now the requirements for getting steel make it so that I have to
use iron tools for a significant period of time before I can get the ability to craft their steel
versions. This, in addition to the items requiring mechanical and electrical parts give the game a
more staged progression. Now there are more rather distinct stages before getting to the best stuff.
This adds a new dimension of fun and challenge to it.
Though I would give some tips for trying to get to the steel production level. Invest early on in
resource collection and building stuff. The steel perks need a certain level in construction and tool
skills in order for you to purchase them. Also, building stuff

Analysis Of The Book Fall Arrives
Fall arrives in the city with crisp winds that brush leaves from the ground into the air in a slow
churning whirlwind causing them to dance about, descending to the moist ground. A yellow cab
is patiently circling the neighborhood in search of fares, which has been a twenty year practice
of Max a stout, older man with a protruding belly that strains the buttons of his faded, much
wrinkled shirt. He slowly drinks a cup of lukewarm coffee and looks up at the dark, overcast sky,
Looks like rain today he says. Knowing the streets of the city better than anyone, Max prefers to
work on the east side around the old Elmhurst Cemetery. People don t venture close to the cemetery
claiming that they often see a young womanwalking through it. Convinced she is a ghost looking
for revenge, but this story never bother Max nor has he ever seen this ghostly young woman.
Drops of rain begin to tap his windshield, but not enough for Max to engage his wipers. Until the
rain begins to violently pound his cab prompting him to slam on his brakes. The cab swerves, his
coffee spills on his chest and runs down his belly, Crap! he shouts in frustration. With his cab
still swerving, he comes close to hitting a young woman crossing the street near the cemetery just
before he stops short of hitting her left leg. He is shocked to see someone walking in such a
violent storm, so he rolls down his window to yell, Hey, do you need a ride?! The young woman
doesn t answer as she continues to cross the

But should they really spend that much? I guess not as long as they know how to remove plaque
from teeth using home remedies that they can find in their own cupboards as well as remedies that
arise from good oral hygiene practices.
What is plaque?
Before discussing how to remove plaque from teeth at home, it is first important for us to discuss
what it is and what causes it. After all, you can never treat something without fully understanding
what it is, its causes, as well as consequences.
Plaque is known as the soft, colorless, and sticky film of bacteria that forms on your teeth, gums,
and tongue. It can also form in your dental fillings, dentures and crowns. Since it is made up of

In this case, you can do your own teeth staining to show whether there are plaques or not. You
can stain plaque by simply chewing red disclosing tablets which you can purchase from drug
stores and grocery stores. You may also use a cotton swab to smudge green food coloring on your
teeth. The colors red and green left on the teeth will give you an idea about the location of plaques
and where you need to brush your teeth again to remove it.
It is important that you check your teeth regularly for plaque presence so that you can ensure that
you remove all plaques properly and that it will not cause untoward problems such as tooth decay
and gum disease.

Taking a Look at Polylactic Acid Polymers
Introduction
Investigations into developing a more sustainable and eco friendly aspect of every day life are
becoming a major priority. Without such investigations or developments in not only the food
packaging sectors, but in many other major industries, this planet along with its inhabitants will
surely succumb to the human lust of consumerism and ultimately the waste that such hunger
produces. The implantation of ecofriendly green packaging options would see a sharp decline in
the amount of waste that is produced each year and give the ability to recycle and to produce
new items from previously used packaging. In this report the team discuss the concept of
biodegradable plastics and their future implementation as green food packaging alternatives to
the current form of non eco friendly plastics that are in existing use. Biodegradability refers to a
composites ability to be degraded by bacteria or other living organisms, plastics such as these can
also be susceptible to water and ultraviolet rays as sources of decomposition with this aspect being
discussed within the chapters of this report. As apart of this report, team members assess the
discovery, life cycle as well as the current or future applications of three different types of bio
plastic. Contained within is discussion on Poly Lactic Acid, Novamont s thermoplastic starch based

Using the Social Penetration Theory, Afifi, Afifi, Merrill, Denes and Davis suggest that not getting
support from friends while being open and discussing their problems can increase anxiety and can
potentially harm the relationship. They want to conduct an experiment to prove that getting support
from peers can help to eliminate brooding and enhance the relationship.
Research Subjects, pp. 401
231 young adults, age ranging from 18 26, participated in the study and brought along one friend.
Most of the participants were female and the majority of the participants were white.

The Importance Of Wild Mustangs
The Importance of Wild Mustangs
Over four hundred years ago, wild horses or mustangs as we call them, were introduced to North
America by the Spanish. As a result, these marvelous creatures have been roaming the land of the
United States ever since, and they have become a part of our history. Mustangs have played an
active role in our history by providing a means to travel, an expansion of our country, and as a
natural beauty to see in the wild: therefore, it is crucial to protect and oversee the care of these
animals in an effective manner.
In the early 1600s, American Indian horses were initially bred from Spanish horses that the Indians
had acquired from the Spaniards most likely by raiding Spanish missions and taking the horses ...

Not only could horses travel places that people couldn t, but they also had tougher legs and bodies
that were able to protect them better; making them more sustainable for travel. Some of the first
Americans who settled here were brought by the mustangs (Speir) and (American Expedition).
Wild mustangs are beautiful creatures when seen in their natural habitat. Photographs, videos, and
in person sightings of these animals have captured the attention of millions of people. Their
fascinating array of color, patterns, shapes, and sizes just add more to their wonderful appearance in
our history. It isn t just their beautiful colors that have an impact, but the beauty within and the
beauty in their overall nature. Mustangs haven t just captured the attention from millions of people,
they have also captured the attention of many famous individuals who have also had a key role in
history; such people include: Ulysses S. Grant, Zachary Taylor, Thomas Jefferson, and many more

Stereotypes In To Kill A Mockingbird By Harper Lee
Stereotypes destroy communities
The novel To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee is set in a small town called Maycomb in the
1930s. In this novel the people of Maycomb discriminate against people that they have no
background information about or people that are different in some way. An innocent black man is
convicted of a crime he never commits, a man is stereotyped to be dangerous and scary and there
are gender stereotypes.
Stereotyping people is wrong and it stops them from growing. People should not be discriminated
against by other people unless they have valid information to back up their claims and the reason
they are discriminating against the people
People in Maycomb are stereotyped and discriminated against based on their race. When Jem,
Scout and Dill are in Nathan Radley s backyard, they see a shadow, the shadow scares them so
they run out of the backyard which drew Nathan Radley s attention. Nathan Radley shoots his
shotgun in the air. The sound of the shotgun attracts Nathan s neighbours, they all gather up in
front of his house to find out what is going on then Miss Maudie says Mr.Radley shot at a negro
in his collard patch (72). Miss Maudie was not even there when the shot was fired, neither does she
have any other information about the situation nor does she see anyone run away yet she thinks the
person who Nathan Radley shot at is black and no one even questions her statement about Nathan
shooting a black person, everyone believes her. This shows that

Rising Voices Summary
Rising voices, this is one of the best documentaries that i ve ever watched. The Rising Voices
documentary was talking about a few major events that has happened. They first talk about how the
language isn t getting told to the younger children in most areas. There are many people who talk
about the information of knowing that many Lakotas don t know how to speak there language.
That is why they started to have the immersion schools. It is a very good thing that they are having
the schools, so that the language does not die off. They wantit to keep going on for generations and
generations. The entire documentary just shows that the people of South and North Dakota needto
keep trying to learn their language so that it doesn t die. That the white men can get their way.
In the documentary I liked many different components. I liked how they used elders to talk about
the language, then the adults, than teens and lastly how they have the little kids talking in their
Native language. When the elders are talking in their language, it makes not only me feel
connected to the language but I think everyone in our class felt the same way. When the adults
are talking about not having known their language it makes me feel that even though I don t
know my language right now, but one day I will know my language. I will teach my kids the
language that died in my family. Then I look at the teens who I just was not very long ago. I know
exactly what they were feeling or how they

During the Medieval Era, their was not much to do for entertainment besides watch the
tournaments that were held all over Western Civilizations. In modern times, many people know
what jousting and sword fighting are but not like the way A Knights Tale show them. This movie
was made in 2001 and was soon a crowd favorite. The modernization of a dark age era gave the
audience entertainment through action, love and comedy. The tournaments were very exciting
during this era, specifically the 14th century. This movie had many mixed reviews between
historians and regular movie goers. There are a lot of great aspects of this movie but also many

The Effect Of Serum Albumin On Blood And Urine Samples...
77 citations.
RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
Firstly, a test to determine the concentration of serum albumin in both blood and urine samples
were carried out. Table 1 demonstrates that Patient B discharged 43mg/mL of serum albumin which
was within the normal literature reference range provided.
Low serum albumin levels are usually associated with acute glomerulonephritis, the normal albumin
levels for Patient B implies that acute glomerulonephritis could be eliminated from list of
conditions provided. Thus suggested for both Patient B and Patient N there were no leakage of the
serum albumin in the urine. Nevertheless, (McClatchey, 2002) identified that low albumin levels
may also signify impaired liver function. Conditions such as hepatic cirrhosis and chronic hepatic
cirrhosis can also be dismissed because of the normal level of albumin in blood. This implies that
no anomalies were present thus signifying accurate results.
An advantage of the test was that the blood samples used are one of the leading analysis
preferences chosen to identify biomarkers, and easily obtainable from patients. However, as direct
assay was unavailable, Bromocresol green solution was used which changed the electronic structure
thus specific whilst binding to albumin. As a result, this generates accurate results with no
anomalies for both serum and blood. Moreover, within the expense limitations of University of
Chester, a simple assay was used (Rehm, 2006) expands that BCA assay may have been used

Conditions were perfect, sunshine with a little cloud cover the Americans were expecting strong
opposition as soon as they touched down on the beaches but there was little opposition to meet
them. Weather considerations were minimum, heavy rain was the only key factor in the battle
which made the ground muddy and troop movement and resupply at times could become difficult.
Okinawa is 60 miles long and 18 miles wide. The terrain in northern Okinawa is extremely
mountainous with elevations of 1,000 feet or more usually with steep cliffs associated with them.
With such uneven terrain troop movement in the north was very difficult. With poor road

majority of this half under cultivation and contained three fourths of the population of the island.
The terrain gave the Japanese Army a slight advantage with natural caves and burial tombs that they
turned into underground positions. There are more roads in the south due to the increased
population but still not suitable for military vehicles.

Research Paper On Drum
Hello there everybody. I have recently started to play an instrument, based on my very energetic
personality, what instrument do you think I play? Drums, that is correct. I will be doing my speech
on drums, popular choices, why I got into drums, some of my favorite drummers, and songs that my
favorite drummers drum in.
Popular types of drums. One of the most used types of drums is the Snare Drum. If you ve ever
heard a Marching Band and you have heard drums that sound similar to this (play clip), then that
is a Snare Drum. The second most talked about/used drum is the Bass Drum or Kick Drum. There
is a little bit of difference between the kick drum and the bass drum. The guys that play in the
Marching Bands with the drum strapped to their chest are wearing a bass drum. If you have ever
seen a drum kit and you have noticed a hole in the big drum on the floor, then that is a kick drum.

Sheltered animals are those who have been either abandoned or abused. In some shelters, pets have

Comparing the poems Neutral Tones and Absence Essay
Comparing the poems Neutral Tones and Absence
Both the poems Neutral Tones by Thomas Hardy and Absence by
Elizabeth Jennings mention and describe the poets feelings about losing their partners. Even though
the general theme, the loss of love, is the same, many features such as tone, imagery, language and
rhyme scheme differ from each other.
Hardy emphasises more on his feelings towards his break up. He doesn t actually mention how he
feels, but instead, the imagery he uses and the way he describes his ex girlfriend shows that he
feels broken and angry. The tone in this poem is very solemn and dull, though it is quite strong in
some areas like The smile on your mouth was the deadest thing and your face, and the ... Show

Hardy seems frustrated at the girl rather than sad that she is leaving him. The line the smile on your
mouth was the deadest thing is a very forceful line and implies that he is annoyed and not lamenting.
On the other hand, Jennings is angry because the environment she was in didn t share her
devastation and loneliness. She called the birds
thoughtless , which shows she was angry with them and it also gives the impression that she feels
the birds were supposed to feel her pain with her, but instead, was oblivious to her misery. The line,
which suggests that she wants to feel happy, is singing an ecstasy I could not share .
The two poets also use different imageries to convey their feelings.
The poems are set in two totally different backgrounds. Neutral
Tones was set in a lifeless place but Absence was set in a place that was merry.
Hardy uses dead images in his poem such as a winter day , which symbolises coldness and
bitterness, sun was white chidden of God to symbolise gloom and melancholy, starving sod and
many more. All these images that Hardy use, emphasise the fact that they have broken up and how
he feels angry yet heart broken at the same time. These
dead images are very appropriate to this poem because they show that even nature could sense the
loss of passion and the death of a relationship. Hardy uses colours like white and grey which are
dull colours. I also imagine the colour brown even though it is

Bart Ehrman s Definition Of Myth
Bart Ehrman believes the chapter of Genesis is a myth. The term myth has many different
definitions though so let s see what he meant when he said myth. Ehrman s definition of a myth
is, a story about God or gods and their activities, which tries to make sense of the world and our
place in it , In Ehrman s eyes, the book of Genesis (in this case chapters 1 11) is just a story, no
more real than the story of Cinderella. Looking at McCutcheon s list of different definitions of the
word myth, I find that Ehrman s definition best fits with Pre scientific explanations of natural
phenomena which basically says that myths are people trying to explain what they observe around
them, their environment. Ehrman believes that creation is a myth,

Analysis Of `` Told By Alex Haley ``
Malcolm X was an influential leader throughout the 60s and 70s who impacted history through
his beliefs, personal changes, and his choices. In his autobiography, told by Alex Haley, the
reader can explore his life. Alex Haley did many extensive interviews with Malcolm to write his
autobiography. Malcolm X, who was born Malcolm Little, was an African American who had an
adolescence full of turmoil. His family was attacked frequently by white people, which
influenced Malcolm to have the same views throughout his own life. Malcolm began to get
involved in the wrong things as a teenager and ended up in jail. While imprisoned, Malcolm
started to believe in the Islamic religion. He started with the views of white people are all awful,
and then changed into viewing most whites as equal. His autobiography helps the reader
understand why Malcolm was the way that he was. Also, the autobiography shows how Malcolm
influenced history forever. Through his beliefs, personal changes in views, and his choices, he left
a lasting impact on the Civil Rights Movement, African American history, and the history of the
United States. Body of Research Malcolm Little was born in Omaha, Nebraska on May 19th, 1925
to Reverend Earl and Louise Little. His family also included seven siblings, along with three step
siblings. Malcolm and his family were African American which brought them trials throughout
Malcolm s early years. The family even moved to Michigan to try to

Social Class Hierarchies In Pygmalion By George Bernard Shaw
On the surface, the play Pygmalion by George Bernard Shaw is a modernized, real life spin off
of the Greek myth of Pygmalion, in which a sculptor falls in love with a statue that he has carved.
One can easily argue that Professor Higgins plays the role of the sculptor, as he molds Eliza, the
statue, into something more desirable throughout the entirety of the play. However, when digging
deeper into the text through the use of close reading, I found that the play itself outlined and
symbolized the differences in social classhierarchies. In fact, I think that the text was a medium
that the author used to display a social experiment, and highlight the advantages and
disadvantages that the changing of social hierarchies is able to provide. The play opens with a
dark, rainy scene that introduces the majority of the main characters right away. Eliza, referred
to as the Flower Girl is initially depicted as a ragged, grimy individual hopelessly trying to sell
flowers to people leaving a theater after a show. Nearby, Professor Higgins and Colonel
Pickering are depicted as well dressed, stable individuals that are referred to as the Note Taker and
the Gentleman respectively. In this particular scene, I think that Shaw does a great job of showing
upfront differences in social structure, as the Flower Girl is representative of the poorer, lower
class community, while the Note Taker and the Gentleman are displaying the wealthier upper class.
The fact that the two social

Logistics, Management and Strategy THE FUNDAMENTAL OF LOGISTIC MANAGEMENT AND STRATEGY Xi Er Dang Abstract This paper provides a basic but fundamental understanding of logistic primarily based on the book of Logistics Management and Strategy by Harrison and van Hoek. It will guide you through from the basic definition and concepts to the different supply chain strategies that exist, as well as providing a perception on the future logistic development. Explanation of principal terms like logistic, supply chain management and supply network is discussed, and important logistic systems like just in time, lean thinking and agile strategies are deliberated. The partners or suppliers which are near the source and thus the production until the focal firm are referred to as upstream (buyer side) (Harrison and van Hoek 2005). In contrary to the partners or first and second tier customers which deliver to the final end customer are referred to as downstream (customer side). However, all partners are responsible of adding value to the end customer in each process they conduct, where the process can be explained as transforming inputs to outputs. (ibid.) Another term which is similar to supply chain is supply network, where both terms describe the objective of serving the end customer through the linkage of different partners. Harland et al.‟s 2001 study (cited in Harrison and van Hoek 2005, p.10) distinct the term network and chain as following: network as a complex structure of cross linkages between organizations, and chain as a simple step by step link of few organizations. Harrison and van Hoek (2005) points out that the supply network should be looked at as a system where there must be an understanding of how all process are interacting with each other on a dependent way. Competing through logistics Harrios and van Hoek (2005) describe four ways of creating logistic advantage in which they contributes to the competitive advantages of the company. The first way is to compete through quality where the symptoms of quality problems signify ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Connotation In Le Message Photographique, By Roland Barthes In le message photographique ( Communications 1, 1961), roland barthes states that photography is a message without a code . According to him, the photographic image, as a reproduction of reality, functions, in a first and more fundamental level, according to the regime of denotation . The denotative impression that an image arouse, Barthes observes, is so intense to make any description impossible considering that describing an image means to add to the denoted message a codified message of second level: the verbal language. The denotation, however, does not exclude connotation, instead, it is exactly the paradox of photography: the coexistence of two messages one without a code, the other one codified. Barthes, indeed, defines photography as a message without a code . However, is the same Barthes, in the la camera chiara, to clamorously deny this theory admitting that he can t include in his book an old photo portraying his mother as a kid in a winter garden. Why he refuses to include a picture that he could use to develop his reflections about the topic? Because, as he states, that photo exists just for himself, for us would not be more than a random photo, one of the myriad representation of the ordinary; it cannot be the visual object of a science, it cannot establish an objectivity , we can might be interest just from a cultural point of view: epoch, clothes etc. He realises that his readers do not have the code to interpret it in the right way. it becomes an allegory because, even remaining a codified language ,it stop to be common property of a culture and it became an intimate language, personal, that no one apart form the subject itself can ... • 6. What Is The Characteristics Of Gram Positive Or Gram... Introduction: There are two major classes of bacteria that contain peptidoglycan, Gram positive and Gram negative. Gram positive bacteria will stain dark purple due to their thick peptidoglycan cell wall, while Gram negative will stain pink due to their thin peptidoglycan cell wall. Many Gram positive and negative bacteria are considered pathogens because they are capable of causing disease in humans. In order to treat properly individuals who are infected with a pathogenic Gram positive or Gram negative bacteria, the identity of the bacteria must be found. In this experiment numerous, differential and selective media, as well as chemical test, were used to evaluate the growth patterns and characteristics of clinically relevant bacteria. Data collected from the specific results was used to create a chart that was used to identify an unknown Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria. The genus Staphylococcus is a Gram positive cocci that is commonly arranged in grapelike clusters. They are universally present in large numbers on the mucous membranes and skin of humans and other warm blooded animals. They are non spore forming, nonmotile, facultative anaerobes. Many species of staphylococcus can be pathogenic. Staphylococcus aureus is the most common pathogen. It can be recovered from skin lesions, abscesses, and wound infections. It can move from these sites to the bloodstream and urine, where it then has the possibility to cause more serious conditions in various organs. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

How well did the results compare with your prediction? ___ My prediction was that the membrane potential will not change and that was wrong because the resting membrane potential changed from 40V to 0V. This happened because K+ diffuse out across the membrane and they leave a net negative charge behind. ___ ___ 3.Explain why a change in extracellular Na+ did not alter the membrane potential in the resting neuron. ___ _There are less leakage channels for Na+ compared to K+_that s why it didn t alter the membrane potential in the resting neuron._ 4.Discuss the relative permeability of the membrane to Na+ and K+ in a resting neuron. ___ _ The resting neuron is 4 to 5 times more permeable to K+ then to Na+ because of the leakage channels._ ___ 5.Discuss how a change in Na+ or K+ conductance would affect the resting membrane potential. ___ _There would be a greater change in the resting membrane potential in K+ than in Na+ because of more K+ ... Once their religion was legalized and established, however, they had new questions to ask concerning who they were, what could hurt their souls and their way of life. Some of them, at least, concluded that the materialism of the dominant Roman way of life was a non agressive, but equally corrosive force that would destroy them not physically, but spiritually. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This assertion has always involved universally several profoundly felt assumptions. 1. That humans, unlike all other creatures, are called upon to develop, to become better than they are. 2. That to be most fully human requires individual choice and development by cooperative action with identifiable but demanding conditions. 3. That these conditions are truly universal, applicable and available to all people and in that sense absolute both in practice and in idea. In The Bhagavad Gita, for example, the poet says that whenever he reads the words of Krishna to Arjuna he enters into the Gita s predicament and experiences a change of soul. Similarly the Christian Gospels invite the hearers of the Word to participate in a divine life. 4. That there is something or some others or some One who is outside and beyond us and divinely interested in us as we succeed or fail at living up to our expectations. 5. That in stories, poems, myths, or codes, the elements of what it means to be human, as well as the passages from one level of awareness and life to another higher level, can be captured and shared, thus giving access to the wisdom of the culture. There s a pervasive culture of tragedy; it is everywhere: families torn apart by deportations, young men taken by gang violence and guns, and young children missing mothers and fathers. But, to survive, it must be as if none of that matters. Shuffle to work, shuffle back. My mother, a very well educated womanand single parent, fought as hard as she could to provide me with the kind of education that could pull me away from the dead ends that every other young person fell into. There are many factors that affect the onset of bipolar disorder, such as genetics, environment, and dysfunction in the brain. Due to its two part nature, various drugs have been used as antidepressants or antipsychotics. Unfortunately, not all drugs have the ability to target both aspects of bipolar disorder. • 12. The Noble Knight In Thomas Malory s Morte Darthur During Malory s Morte Darthur , the noble knights such as Lancelot, Gawain, Agravain, and Gareth represent the ideals of knightliness. Malory seems to be implying that Sir Lancelot although King Arthur s biggest betrayer was still the noblest of knights despite his adultery. Sir Lancelot during the story is portrayed as the measure in which all knights worth is metered by. As just a knight Lancelot is held as the man of which many worship, slightly more than even King Arthur, making Lancelot the main idol of the text. Being a knight nobility, honor, and worship was an imperative skill in the role of leadership, for a leader often were those who had proven themselves on and off the battlefield. For others to look over Sire Lancelot and Queen Guineveres secret affair insinuates that they respected Sir Lancelot more than King Arthur. In Sir Thomas Malory s Morte Darthur the implication of the story is that honor is obtained by holding up to the responsibilities one may have more so than relationships they are involved in. Sir Agravain and Sir Mordredbrought the Queen and Sir Lancelot s affair up amongst the group of knights. To a reader, it shows a semi dislike to Sir Lancelot that they both would make such noise over this. Sir Gawain reminds them both that they, must remember how often time Sir Lancelot hath rescued the King and Queen (483). Gawain looks to Sir Lancelot as an honorable knight disbelieving that his fellow knights would accuse him of such accusations. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... oA.1. has never been seriously challenged by another brand. Currently, A.1. has no reason to believe that Lawry s could become serious competition. Disadvantages o A.1. stands to lose part of its current market share due to the extreme price difference between its steak sauce ($0.50 / ounce regularly) and Lawry s new steak sauce ($0.36 / ounce regularly). o Currently A.1. is guaranteed to receive chief ad placements during the important holiday weekends. If A.1. makes no changes, there is a high probability that A.1. will lose these placements as Publix is already considering Lawry s for the Memorial Day ad. Recommendation I would recommend a combination of two of the alternatives above. First, I would recommend that A.1. strengthen its relationships with its suppliers and distributors. Although A.1. would incur additional expenses in the form of legal fees and sales representative time, the benefits it could gain would be extremely useful in competing against Lawry s. A.1. would ensure a high quality product, adequate shelf space, and principal display space. These would reinforce A.1. as the preferred steak sauce and provide additional brand awareness. Second, I would recommend that A.1. alter its advertising program for the upcoming year. While this is true, most of the energy made actually comes from the electron transport chain that occurs on the inner membrane of the mitochondria. A series of proteins are active in the electron transport chain, but the fourth one, cytochrome c oxidase, is the one that is important for our purposes. Cytochrome c oxidase is a large integral protein, that is made up of several subunits, some which provide the target of aspirin (Norman, C., et al.). The subunits together have a very important role that is universal though eukaryotic cells. Cytochrome c oxidase can reduce 250 molecules of O in a second. The energy released from the oxidation... The R^2 value is only 0.9411, indicating that this line is not close to a perfect fit, which is also seen from the relationship of the data points to the line, but it is accurate enough to give something to go off of. From here the true concentration could be calculated by working the calculations from the 40X and 100X solutions to the pure sample. Once the true concentrations were known, the total protein in the samples could be calculated. The results of the calculations are found in Table 1. By taking the calculated total protein, and the average cytochrome c oxidase assay we are able to find the specific activity of cytochrome c. A negative value in the cytochrome c oxidase assay was preferred, as that indicated less color than the cytochrome c provided, and thus that cytochrome c oxidase was present to react. All negative numbers were converted to positive numbers, and as there was no logical way for a higher concentration of cytochrome c to occur, the samples that resulted in a positive result, were determined to be a failure to detect the presence of cytochrome c oxidase. Samples 1, 3, and 4 did not have any cytochrome c oxidase in them, and were therefore not capable of having a specific activity of cytochrome c ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Another crucial point mentioned in the article is the power of perception and how media can often times influence perception. One of the most powerful lessons of these films is how easily our opinions about a crime can be influenced by the manner in which information is presented to us (Rich, 2013). An example used is that of Hobbs. Rich mentions that throughout the first film Hobbs appeared dazed and ruined over the death of his son. When they show the same footage in the third film, he looks like a man who is trying to hide something. With this new context the audience, watching began to see him in a different way. This is another way truth works as Professor LaFleur explained in the Fall semester. In this case, the West Memphis Three supporters sought to exonerate the accuse and accuse instead who they felt had committed the murders. The case with the backing of many celebrities and supporters gained national notoriety. Their agenda, which was blaming Hobbs, intensified in the documentary. • 23. The New Terrain And Distance Viewing Now, I will give some commentary from my experiences playing alpha 15. As I had mentioned, in my previous article, I rather like the new terrain and distance viewing. I am indeed excited about the new possibilities it offers for building things (as I rather like to construct buildings and make my own small towns). I have begun to explore the buildings possibilities, which I will get into later. The dynamic of progression for production has changed. The change in the steel perk, the increased number of things which need the work bench to craft them, the new components, and the new things to craft have changed things. It used to be that I could get the steel perk so easily that I could basically skip iron crafting versions of things, and go straight to steel axes, and steel picks. I cannot do that anymore. Now the requirements for getting steel make it so that I have to use iron tools for a significant period of time before I can get the ability to craft their steel versions. This, in addition to the items requiring mechanical and electrical parts give the game a more staged progression. Now there are more rather distinct stages before getting to the best stuff. This adds a new dimension of fun and challenge to it. Though I would give some tips for trying to get to the steel production level. Invest early on in resource collection and building stuff. The steel perks need a certain level in construction and tool skills in order for you to purchase them. Also, building stuff ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION Firstly, a test to determine the concentration of serum albumin in both blood and urine samples were carried out. Table 1 demonstrates that Patient B discharged 43mg/mL of serum albumin which was within the normal literature reference range provided. Low serum albumin levels are usually associated with acute glomerulonephritis, the normal albumin levels for Patient B implies that acute glomerulonephritis could be eliminated from list of conditions provided. Thus suggested for both Patient B and Patient N there were no leakage of the serum albumin in the urine. Nevertheless, (McClatchey, 2002) identified that low albumin levels may also signify impaired liver function. Conditions such as hepatic cirrhosis and chronic hepatic cirrhosis can also be dismissed because of the normal level of albumin in blood. This implies that no anomalies were present thus signifying accurate results. An advantage of the test was that the blood samples used are one of the leading analysis preferences chosen to identify biomarkers, and easily obtainable from patients. However, as direct assay was unavailable, Bromocresol green solution was used which changed the electronic structure thus specific whilst binding to albumin. • 44. Comparing the poems Neutral Tones and Absence Essay Comparing the poems Neutral Tones and Absence Both the poems Neutral Tones by Thomas Hardy and Absence by Elizabeth Jennings mention and describe the poets feelings about losing their partners. Even though the general theme, the loss of love, is the same, many features such as tone, imagery, language and rhyme scheme differ from each other. Hardy emphasises more on his feelings towards his break up. He doesn t actually mention how he feels, but instead, the imagery he uses and the way he describes his ex girlfriend shows that he feels broken and angry. The tone in this poem is very solemn and dull, though it is quite strong in some areas like The smile on your mouth was the deadest thing and your face, and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Hardy seems frustrated at the girl rather than sad that she is leaving him. The line the smile on your mouth was the deadest thing is a very forceful line and implies that he is annoyed and not lamenting. On the other hand, Jennings is angry because the environment she was in didn t share her devastation and loneliness. She called the birds thoughtless , which shows she was angry with them and it also gives the impression that she feels the birds were supposed to feel her pain with her, but instead, was oblivious to her misery. The line, which suggests that she wants to feel happy, is singing an ecstasy I could not share . The two poets also use different imageries to convey their feelings. The poems are set in two totally different backgrounds. Neutral Tones was set in a lifeless place but Absence was set in a place that was merry. Hardy uses dead images in his poem such as a winter day , which symbolises coldness and bitterness, sun was white chidden of God to symbolise gloom and melancholy, starving sod and many more. All these images that Hardy use, emphasise the fact that they have broken up and how he feels angry yet heart broken at the same time. These dead images are very appropriate to this poem because they show that even nature could sense the loss of passion and the death of a relationship. Hardy uses colours like white and grey which are dull colours. I also imagine the colour brown even though it is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Bart Ehrman s Definition Of Myth Bart Ehrman believes the chapter of Genesis is a myth. The term myth has many different definitions though so let s see what he meant when he said myth. Ehrman s definition of a myth is, a story about God or gods and their activities, which tries to make sense of the world and our place in it , In Ehrman s eyes, the book of Genesis (in this case chapters 1 11) is just a story, no more real than the story of Cinderella. Looking at McCutcheon s list of different definitions of the word myth, I find that Ehrman s definition best fits with Pre scientific explanations of natural phenomena which basically says that myths are people trying to explain what they observe around them, their environment. Ehrman believes that creation is a myth, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 47. Social Class Hierarchies In Pygmalion By George Bernard Shaw On the surface, the play Pygmalion by George Bernard Shaw is a modernized, real life spin off of the Greek myth of Pygmalion, in which a sculptor falls in love with a statue that he has carved. One can easily argue that Professor Higgins plays the role of the sculptor, as he molds Eliza, the statue, into something more desirable throughout the entirety of the play. However, when digging deeper into the text through the use of close reading, I found that the play itself outlined and symbolized the differences in social classhierarchies. In fact, I think that the text was a medium that the author used to display a social experiment, and highlight the advantages and disadvantages that the changing of social hierarchies is able to provide. The play opens with a dark, rainy scene that introduces the majority of the main characters right away. Eliza, referred to as the Flower Girl is initially depicted as a ragged, grimy individual hopelessly trying to sell flowers to people leaving a theater after a show. Nearby, Professor Higgins and Colonel Pickering are depicted as well dressed, stable individuals that are referred to as the Note Taker and the Gentleman respectively. In this particular scene, I think that Shaw does a great job of showing upfront differences in social structure, as the Flower Girl is representative of the poorer, lower class community, while the Note Taker and the Gentleman are displaying the wealthier upper class. The fact that the two social ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
