Airtel specially makes plans for its different account to attract customers and give them the best
service. These plans are called CORPORATE PLANS .
Every week the target is being assigned to the executive according to the accounts he is visiting.
Sometime executive have to visit more than two companies in a day and four companies in a week.
This happen because of the timing of that particular account.
To gain an account the channel partner visit to different companies and ask for the details like the
number of employees working there and ask for the number of any senior to whom they can

Methodology Introduction Interviews and Questionnaires Prior to the date of the interview, a letter
explaining the purpose of the research was sent to all the identified potential respondents. On the
day of the survey, respondents were requested to fill consents forms to indicate whether they agree
to the survey. For respondents that were below 18 years, their parents were asked to fill consent
forms indicating their consent to allow their children participate in the exercise. On a separate
form, they were asked to fill their personal data After that the survey was administered to every
respondent. The survey mainly concentrated on cardiovascular disease and the risk factors
associated with it. They were asked a set of questions touching on general health as well as lifestyle
factors including physical activity, alcohol consumption, diet and consumption of fruits and
vegetables, smoking and other such risk factors for cardiovascular disease. They were also asked to
state whether a member of their family had suffered from cardiovascular disease in order to
determine the level of contribution by genetic make up. The patients were also asked about
prescribed medication, nicotine replacement treatments, and vitamin supplements. To determine
their risks of contracting CVD, informants were asked to state whether they had previously
experienced any of the following conditions which are strong indicators of CVD: heart attack,
angina, stroke, abnormal heart rhythm, heart murmur, and

4. Taking a Look at Scientology
What is Scientology? How does one practice it? Where did it come from? Why is it such a big
deal? Scientology is the pursuit of a person s understanding of one s spiritual nature and the
human way of thinking (Official Church of Scientology). The name Scientology comes from the
Latin word Scientia, meaning knowledge, and the Greek word Logos, meaning reason or
understanding (Molloy 485). This religion did not originate by itself. It has ties to Indian
spirituality, Gnosticism, and some schools of Hinduism (Molloy 485). Even though Hubbard does
not use the words nirvana, karma, or enlightenment , his religion is trying to do this by reaching
the state of liberation (Molloy 486). This religion is an applied religious philosophy and considers
man to be more than just his physical self (Staff of the Church of Scientology3). Scientology was
developed by L. Ron Hubbardin 1954 (Molloy 485). He lived from 1911 to 1986 (Molloy 485).
Mr. Hubbard was actually a world renowned science fiction author, but he came up with a process
that helped people clarify their understanding of the human process of knowing which was later
turned into Scientology (Molloy 485). Hubbard also had many writings and published works (Staff
of the Church of Scientology25). He had published more than 5,000 writings, dozens of books, and
over 3,000 tape recorded lectures (Staff of the Church of Scientology 25). There are many Churches
of Scientology around the world and in the United States including

5. A Study On The Cardiac Rhythm
Introduction: The electrocardiogram remains the single most important tool for interpretation of
the cardiac rhythm. 1 It can be used to successfully pick up conduction abnormalities, rhythm
disturbances, possible myocardial ischemia, and a slew of other abnormalities that can be
linked to various cardiac or metabolic diseases. 1,2 ECGs can also be used as a preventive tool
to screen for abnormalities early in the disease process. 3,4 In 1982, Italy passed a law that all
individuals who want to compete in competitive sports undergo a clinical evaluation that included
an assessment of family history, person history, a physical exam, and an electrocardiogram. The
bulk of the evaluation relied heavily on the ECG looking for any abnormalities... Show more

This program recruited community volunteers to perform the ECGs and were given a
standardized training on how to correctly obtain one. The ECGs were then interpreted by 6
cardiologists experienced in adolescent ECGs. Among the 32,561 screened, 2.5% had abnormal
ECGs. The importance of this study was to show that mass ECG screenings can be efficiently
obtained and still yield quality results when assessing for risk factors for SCA. This study
reported that the cost per ECG was only $8.67, which is more proof of why ECG screening
should become a standardized preventive modality. ECGs can play an essential role in
monitoring the status of a patient and for recognizing trends in the patients progression. Fesmire
et al5 reported that serial ECGs were more sensitive for evaluating acute myocardial infarctions
(AMI) and acute coronary syndrome (ACS) than an initial ECG. Serial ECGs were 68.1% more
sensitive for identifying AMI compared to 55.4% using an initial ECG. For ACS, serial ECGs
were 34.2% more sensitive compared to 27.5% for an initial ECG. The purpose of this ECG
workshop is to teach people to be proficient at reading ECGs. The amount of information that an
individual can obtain from an ECG can be extremely beneficial in helping with diagnosis of patients
or determining the proper treatment. This workshop will include hands on learning, lecture, and
worksheets to help individuals develop skills on recognizing variations on the

6. Anthony Burgess and A Clockwork Orange
Imagine existing in a world run by sadistic and insane street gangs who reek havoc on innocent
civilians, and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. Anthony Burgess created this world
through his novel, A Clockwork Orange. Anthony Burgess was born in 1917 and died in 1963. A
lot of social changes occurred during this period of time, such as: the roaring twenties, prohibition,
the Great Depression, World War II, the fall of the Berlin Wall, and many more. Burgess not only
lived through those changes, but also helped influences some social changes in literature and music.

Burgess also served in the British army during World War II as the musical director of a special
services unit. He was also an education officer in Malaya and Brunel, where he studied nine
languages and wrote several novels. In 1954 he became a senior lecturer in English at Teachers
Training College, Khata Baru. There he found his true vocation. , said journalist Colin Covert in
one of his reviews of Anthony Burgess.
William Shakespeare primarily inspired Burgess s writing and the great composer, Ludwig van
Beethoven, was the main inspiration for his musical career. Anthony loved to travel to different
countries and study their language and culters, which he incorporated into his many works. He was
greatly influenced by James Joyce, a 20th century Irish novelist and poet, to write his first novel, A
Vision of Battlement. Traveling and teaching English around the world, particularly Malaya ad
Brunel, influenced the way he wrote. His experiences in World War II, and his day to day life
observing the street gangs around the world, influenced what he wrote about. Collin Burrow, of
the London Review of Books, once described Burgess as a, 1960 s sideboard writer. His range was
improbable.
The genres of Burgess s works were historical fiction, philosophical, satire, epics, spy fiction,
horror, travel literature, biography, and autobiography. Burgess s vision has been described as bleak

National parks: protected areas of land throughout the world to express natural beauty. Every year,
people visit the many national parks we have here to offer in the United States. Some of which
being Yellowstone, Yosemite, Grand Canyon, Aradia, Arches, Zion, Joshua Tree, and Sequoia. Two
of the most famous national parks here in the United Statesare the Grand Canyon and Yellowstone

National parks signify the beauty and compassion of our national heritage through nature and
wildlife. National Parks also deliver other invaluable economic, social, cultural and health benefits.
With many people traveling yearly, there is always going to be someone new telling you to go to

know the importance of wanting to explore and appreciate nature around them and why there are
parks dedicated and protected to them. Nature should be experienced through a kind and peaceful
manner, so that everyone can enjoy. National parks have been woven into American society since
the mid 1800s, and have been enjoyed and loved ever since.

influenced by a large number of potential variables. Individual, socio cultural and environmental
aspects, political, policy, economical, route distance and hills, household roles and responsibilities,

9. European Witch Hunts Essay
European Witch Hunts
Witch hunts blazed across Europe over the fifteenth to eighteenth centuries not just killing
innumerable innocent people, but stripping women of much of the power they had once held, and
changing society s perceptions of women all together. The economic hardships, religious rivalries,
and troubled politics of the time made accusing your neighbors of witchcraft convenient. Where
there was war and poverty, or merely bad luck, peasants would assume witchcraft and rush to blame
an old, defenseless woman in trials which involved unbelievable cruelty and horrible sadism. As
religion and the Catholic Church began to complement and perpetuate the increasing hysteria,
European society as a whole could do nothing but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Throughout the witch hunts, women were the primary target; most victims being midwives, native
healers, single women who lived alone, people against whom neighbors had a grudge or
practitioners of ancient pagan rituals. Although not all were women, 75 to 90% of accused witches
were in fact women (Levack,. p. 124), forcing one to question the affects of the harsh portrayal of
women being placed on women.
Prior to the fifteenth century, rural European women were highly revered and respected pillars
of rural community life; not only considered mothers and wives, but seen as community leaders,
physicians, and sources of strength and wisdom. Women had a special and imperative role in
rural life, and even those that lived on the fringes of society were well respected as the village
healers and wise women. These old women would possess the wisdom of the ages and pass it on
to others. This respect for women quickly deteriorated, however, during the witch hunts. The belief
spread that women were morally weaker than men and driven by carnal lust, therefore making them
more susceptible to being tempted by the Devil, and thus practicing witchcraft. (Levack p. 126) As
people took this belief to heart, it is apparent that society would be affected indefinitely by such
intolerance.
The witch hunts that blazed across Europe for centuries not only saw the death of millions of
women but also served to set a

10. First Crusades Dbq
Before the first Crusade, Western Europe had become a place with not much progress, confined
from other civilizations and hidden in the Dark Ages that had gone down on Western Christendom
after the collapse of the Roman Empire. At the time of the first Crusade, the Middle East and
Western Europe were greatly divided. The Crusadescontributed to the end of Western Europes
global isolation by introducing an era in which Western Europe came into direct contact with the
large trade routes that united their civilization with Asia.
The Crusades introduced many Western Europeans to trading. Many goods flowed along these
trade routes such as spices, silk, cotton, paper, medicines and other endless amounts of products.
The trade created a high demand ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These reasons resulted in what became a prosperous first crusade led by the Pope himself. The
political reasons ranged from a desire for adventure to the land of Jerusalem, wanting to gain
more power, and other economic rationales. By the end of the first crusade, the Crusaders were
victorious in stripping more than forty silver candelabra and more than twenty gold ones in the
Dome of the Rock. The economic reasons included gaining more wealth, land, riches and multiple
goods. The Pope claims that the Crusaders must ...rush quickly as [they] can to the defence of the
Eastern Church and that it s ...a beautiful thing to die for Christ... . The religious reasons the
Crusaders thought to be true was that the crusade was God s call for the Christian brothers to
accomplish their attack on the Muslims. The Muslims were filled with grief as the Arab Historian,
Ibn al Athir, recalls that ...the Franks slaughtered more than 70,000 people...women and children
taken prisoner, the homes pillaged... . Unlike the rejoice in the documents and articles from the
Crusaders perspectives, the Muslim perspective felt sorrow for those who died innocently. The
Crusaders destroyed an extensive portion the Jerusalem land and population, taking away
valuable riches and treasures from the Holy Land. While later crusades failed to accomplish that
of the crusade led by Pope Urban III, I greatly believe that the first crusade was a great

11. Infertility Fertility Benefits
Infertility is a heart breaking condition, which affects about 15 percent of the population of those
who are trying to conceive. Though the statistics vary, between 30 50 percent of these cases of
fertility are due to the male. This can be because of damaged sperm, low semen volume, or
difficulty maintaining an erection. Though infertilityis more common in older males, it can happen
to men of younger ages too. Many couples become so desperate to have a child that they turn to in
vitro fertilization after a year or more of trying with no success. This is very expensive though. A
much less costly option is to try fertilitysupplements instead. Some of the most popular ones to
take are the following:
L Arginine
This amino acid has numerous health benefits because of its ability to improve blood flow and
relax constricted blood vessels. Many heart patients take it to help prevent another heart attack
from occurring if they have previously had one before. Just as it helps increase heart flow
through the heart, it can do the same for a man who is struggling with maintaining an erection.
More blood flow to the genitals also increases their libido, and the more a couple has sex, the
more likely conception can take place. L Arginine also has a positive effect on sperm quality and

The term reward can be broken up into three separate components: wanting, liking, and learning.
Liking is defined as the actual pleasure component or hedonic impact of a reward. Wanting is
defined as motivation for reward, which includes both (1) incentive salience wanting processes
that are not necessarily conscious and (2) conscious desires for incentives or cognitive goals.
Lastly learning is defined as associations, representations, and predictions about future rewards
based on past experiences (Kringelbach and Berridge 2008). I like the way this paper breaks up
the term reward because it causes you to actually think about which parts of the brain correspond
with each defined term. This paper goes on to talk about how with each component of reward lies a
conscious and unconscious process. Something I found that stuck out was how the paper addresses
the challenges the brain possesses with respect to rewards. The paper states The primary challenge
is to identify which brain systems mediate pleasure versus other components of reward and to map
components correctly onto their own neural substrates (Fig. 1).
This challenge is difficult because a rewarding stimulus or event will elicit many or all of these
reward components simultaneously and so activate many brain systems at the same time
(Kringelbach and Berridge 2008). I see why this can be frustrating. The brain is quite intriguing but
it is also confusing.

Distributed Database vs Centralized Database centralized database: In a centralized database, all
the data of an organization is stored in a single place such as a mainframe computer or a server.
Users in remote locations access the data through the Wide Area Network (WAN) using the
application programs provided to access the data. In a centralized database, all data of an
organization are kept in a single computer as a central processor or server. Users in remote
locations access data by using WAN by application software provided to access data. The
centralized database (the central processor or server) should be able to satisfy all requests from
the system; therefore, it creates restricted access. But since all data resides in a single location it
easier to maintain and support data. In addition, it is easier to maintain the integrity of data,
because once the data is stored in a centralized database, out of date data is no longer available in
other places. Distributed Database: In a distributed database, the data is stored in storage devices
that are in different physical locations. They are not attached to a common CPU but the database

15. Lowering The Legal Drinking Age
As we know, the United States has the highest drinking age in the world. By 1988 the entire U.S
had adopted the Federal Uniform Drinking Age Act, which set the drinking age to twenty one.
However, in 1920 the United States banned the sale, production, importation, and transportation
of alcohol. This era known as the Prohibition sparked the popularity of hidden underground bars
and events. The Prohibition Era is a prime example of how people did anything to intake alcohol
and eventually this led to the act of doing illegal things. It is obvious to say that many people in
the 1920 s were going against the law and were consuming alcohol. Today, this age seems to be a
topic of controversy and debate. Many countries have established their drinking age to eighteen and
younger. To many people believe that the idea of lowering the legal drinking agein the United States
seems great. However, others believe that this idea may bring upon more conflict and tragedy. The
drinking age should not be lowered and should stay at the uniform drinking age of twenty one.
Ruth C. Engs, a professor at Indiana University, supports the idea that the drinking age should be
lowered and should allow young adults to drink in controlled environments. She firmly believes
that by lowering the drinking age will result in a decrease in irresponsible drinking that can lead to
devastation. In opposition, Honor Whiteman states that the drinking age should be kept where it is

Case # 10: The Boeing 7E7

Date: October 24th, 2012
Course Number: Fire 417 Cases in Financial Management
Section: 901

Case Summary:
1.) In early 2003, Boeing announced plans to design and sell an airliner named the 7E7. Boeing
aimed for the 7E7 to be more fuel efficient, carry between 200 and 250 passengers, able to
accomplish both domestic and international flights, as well as be 10% cheaper to operate than
Airbus s A330 200 aircraft. All of these attributes were attractive to Boeing but would come at
significant costs. To accomplish these attributes, Boeing proposed to construct the aircraft ... Show

There were also some unknown variables that needed to be taken into account. Development and
per copy costs were the costs that the board wanted to minimize. The forecast assumes that
development costs would be $8 billion. There was great uncertainty surrounding the manufacturing
cost of the 7E7. The element that adds the most uncertainty to the manufacturing costs are in the
engineering of the aircraft. While the engineering costs could be high, Boeing was hoping that the
lower construction costs of using the composite materials would compensate for the elevated
engineering costs.
2.) The cost of capital for Boeing would hinged on several factors. Factors such as beta and the
debt/equity ratio for Boeing and other companies in the same industry could impact how much
Boeing s cost of capital could be. The marginal tax rate for Boeing was expected to be around
35%. Yields on three month Treasury bonds were .85% and the yield on 30 year Treasury bonds
was 4.56%. On June 16, 2003, Boeing s stock closed at a price of $36.41. An important factor in
figuring Boeing s cost of capital would be that Boeing was separated into two different
businesses. The defense business was more stable due to the declaration of war against Iraq while
the commercial business was more volatile due to the events of September 11, 2001. Due to the
fact of Boeing being divided into two different

David is extremely buff, a quality that was highly revered during the Greek and Roman eras, and
he shows off the male body very well. He is in a slight contraposto stance, where the artist illustrates
the natural counterbalance of the body through the bending of the hips in one direction and the legs
in another direction.
The well defined muscular build is the ideal form to our culture today. Personally I strive to better
myself to be physically strong and muscular in appearance. Though David is a male model, he
makes a gorgeous physical role model for me. His facial expression is tense and determined, as it
should be before the battle of Goliath. Determination, fighting for what one stands for, is noble and
stunning.
Unlike the David of Donatello, Michelangelo s David is not shown after conquering his enemy.
Instead, he is portrayed as an extremely athletic and manly character; the sculpture even depicts a
worried look cast upon David s face and the carved marble veins seem to pulse with anticipation
as he contemplates the upcoming fight. Cast over David s shoulder is his sling, and the stone is

22. The Hero s Journey Of Heroes Summary

The Adventure of the Hero (Part One)
Prologue
In The Hero with a Thousand Faces, Joseph Campbell dives into his theory that every culture s
myths share a sense of universality. In other words, all the myths of each culture stem from a
common ancestor, or idea. Campbell shows a very headstrong opinion on his theory, as if it is a
universal truth that cannot be altered because this theme will always be the one, shape shifting yet
marvelously constant story that we find. His use of the word shape shifting insinuates that these
myths are different but simply changing slight form from the original, which is not an actual myth
but a collection of similar myths. The prologue lays out a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In the Oedipus myth a theme that a son wants to follow his father s behaviors while loving his
mother. The son in this story unknowingly murders his father in battle before marrying his own
mother, which he did not know was his mother. Campbell believes that all myths share three
common steps in the Hero s journey: Separation initiation return: which might be named the nuclear
unit of the monomyth. One way this is enforced is through the Buddha s journey. He goes through
temptation followed by transcendence. Then, the Buddha returns to society with enlightenment.
Also, the authors referencing of other cultures, in particular North American society, is often
hidden but it still has a strong presence and message. Without a stronger awareness and deeper
meaning, the society is doomed. The prologue ends with Campbell s view of The World Navel,
which all things, in particular mythology, stems from a common image/ source. All

Live ones? . She glanced down at the ragged comfort object and grinned. Right. she said,

Having pride and determination is a wonderful quality to have, but it also takes a lot of guts

26. Judith Jarvis Thomson s A Defense Of Abortion Essay
Judith Jarvis Thomson s A Defense of Abortion is a uniquely reasoned argument for the right to
abortion that uses strong analogies to challenge pro life arguments that are based on the premise
that a human life begins at the moment of conception. In this paper I will argue that Thomson is
correct in her view and that her analogies solidify her argument, which then becomes impervious to
criticism from philosophers like Keith J. Pavlischek or David B. Hershenov who bring up other
factors irrelevant to Thomson argument that are easily disputable by facts. Thomson starts her
paper by clarifying that while she does not agree with the premise that life begins at the moment of
conception she is willing to accept it in her argument to prove that it is a counterpoint to abortion
that is as weak as the rest of the pro life argument. In her essay, Thomson uses three major analogies
to illustrate different scenarios to which abortion would be considered. The Violinist Analogy
describes a pregnancythat has been induced by rape and, foreshadows to a section later in the
essay, where she goes into detail about where the line is drawn when two innocent lives are at
risk and what is the third party s role in the problem solving. It is a case in which the Society of
Music Lovers has kidnapped you and attached you to a revered violinist who needs your kidneys
to support him so he can live. The doctor says it is a nine month procedure, after which, he will be
healthy again and you will

27. Short And Long Term Effects Of The Greek Revolution
The Ottoman Turks first ruled over Greece when it captured Constantinople and eventually the rest
of Greece. This put Greece and a variety of other countries in their power. The Greeks wanted
liberation from the Turks from the start and began having unsuccessful rebellions that eventually
lead to the rebellion in the Peloponnese, where the war is said to have really begun. They were
inspired by the successes of the French Revolution and felt responsible for the preservation and
development of their culture. This bonded them together and made them feel nationalism. The
Greek War of Independence was a successful liberal movement that achieved their goals and was
revolutionary. Under the Ottoman rule, the Greeks were not happy. The Muslim Turks... Show more

Starting with the short term effects, the first matter to be solved was the land question. After the
Greeks had won, there were plots of land abandoned by the Turks. The Greek government
eventually gave each peasant family and veteran 20 acres of the confiscated land too small for
prosperity, but enough to show that they believed that each Greek could be self sustainable. Next,
with one part of the population of Greeks independent, they needed to figure out what their
relationship was with all of the Greek nation. In response, they made a policy in which all Greeks
were unified. Onto the long term effects, the revolt is a crucial in Ottoman history because it
started a wave of rebellions against them eventually leading to their demise and the creation of new
Mediterranean states. The Greek revolution was in no way the first rebellion against the Ottoman
Empire, but it was the first successful one with foreign involvement. The Ottoman empire was
made up of a variety of people of different races and beliefs. After the Greek success, the
remaining people and Greeks in the Ottoman empire were inspired to make their own stand for
independence and many would succeed. Not only was the revolution important to Ottoman history,
but it was obviously important to the Greek s history as well. When King Otto was on the throne,
it was almost as if nothing had changed. He imposed the same high taxes just as the Ottoman
Empire (maybe even higher) and ruled as an absolute monarch. Based off the revolution, the chance
that the Greeks would keep still was close to none. They revolted in 1843 and forced him to sign a
new Constitution and instituted a constitutional monarchy. Eventually, he would prove to be a ruler
unfit of Greece and was deposed of. This also inspired more Greeks to be a part of politics. Besides
King Otto, one other problem layed in the failure to create a

In this essay I will be comparing two poems which show connections between people and the
places in which they live. The two poems I will be comparing and contrasting are Blessing by
imtiaz Dharker and Island Man by Grace Nichols. Both of these poets express their feelings
through these poems. Grace Nichols allocates her experiences of how people feel when separated
from the environment and place they lived in for such a long period of time. On the contrary
Imtiaz Dharker uses the poem Blessing to convey the importance of water for less fortunate
people. From both of the poems I have chosen I can see that the poets have written about something
they feel is important. The reason why I have chosen these two poems is because both of the... Show

The poem Blessing is about an unfortunate group of people who miraculously find clean water
because of a pipe bursting. This is seen as a blessing because of the inadequate amount of water
they get in addition to the hot weather conditions and constant droughts. Imtiaz Dharker sets the
poem Blessing in a shanty town near Mumbai. She starts the poem with a powerful simile
describing the state of these people whilst setting the scene. The skin cracks like a pod . The word
skin could demote metaphorically to the earth. Immediately an image of drought and dry soil
comes to mind. The phrase cracks highlights how hot the country is. This is effective because it
allows the reader to envision the scene. The use of onomatopoeia exemplifies the noise of the
ground exemplifies the noise of the ground. On the other hand the poem. Island Man is about a
Caribbean man who one morning woke up in London. This anonymous character is used live in
the Caribbean island but wakes up every morning to the sounds and blissful memories of the
Caribbean. The Caribbean Scenario that he thinks he has woken up to contrasts harshly with the
reality of his existence in London. The sentence wakes up to sounds of blue surf proves that

as a grey metallic soar . This usage of language is an illusion compared to the

Chloride concentration is frequently measured in veterinary practices, but not critically assessed as
other electrolytes, and often referred to as the forgotten electrolyte. Several studies have reported a
significantly increased mortality in critically ill human patients with hyperchloremia or
hypochloremia, raising the concern that abnormal chlorideconcentrations may have clinical
significance. Abnormal chloride concentrations can result from various underlying diseases as well
as from iatrogenic interventions such as drug and fluid administration. Thus, it is important to

Function of chloride ions: In the 1990s, the effect of chloride on the acid base balance was
thoroughly studied as a physiochemical approach, called the Stewart approach. With the Stewart
approach, chloride is a key determinant of the strong ion difference (SID), one of the three
independent variables to determine the acid base status (the two other independent variables are the
partial pressure of carbon dioxide and the total weak acid concentration).
Strong ion difference (SID) = ([Na+] + [K+] + [Ca2+] + [Mg2+]) ([Cl ] + unmeasured strong
anions*) Formula (a) *Unmeasured strong anions: lactate, acetoacetate, ОІ hydroxybutyrate,
sulfate, etc
Normal SID will depend on the laboratory but is generally in the range of 30 to 40 mmol/L.
Quantitatively, changes in the strong ion concentrations leading to a decreased SID will result in
acidosis with increased hydrogen ion concentration whereas changes leading to an increased SID
will result in alkalosis, with decreased hydrogen ion concentration. At constant concentrations of
sodium and other strong ions, a decrease in the chloride concentration increases SID and causes
hypochloremic alkalosis, whereas an increase in the chloride concentration decreases SID and
causes hyperchloremic acidosis. The chloride ion is, therefore, important because of its independent
role in acid base regulation.
Besides regulating acid base balance,

31. Catch-22 Literary Analysis
War, it stripes people of their sanity and ethics, still it is considered a catalyst for change. In the
novel Catch 22 by Joseph Heller it tells the story of a twenty eight year old bombardier stationed
in world war two, set in a fictional island, Pianosa, somewhere in Italy. There are many opinions on
war, there are pacifists, those who are willing to fight, and those who refuse to be involved even
though it is very much needed. Although war may be necessary for self defense, it is by no means
virtuous and has in fact affected the mental health of many like Yossarion. War is many things;
malevolent, economically challenging, and controversial, but nevertheless it is necessary. In spite
of the fact that Joseph Hellerdepicts the characters similar to Colonel Cathcart as an opposing
factor, they do notice the importance of their role in the war, unlike Yossarion. Consequently, if
the veterans don t acknowledge their importance then our progress as a nation will fail to proceed,
our economic gain will suffer, over population will occur (worse than it already is), and our
territory and freedom will be purloined, I m not running away from my responsibilities. I m running
to them. There s nothing negative about running away to save my life. (Joseph Heller, Catch 22)

Available Strategic Options
Edward Jones strategic direction in 2006 had to respond to competitors like Merrill Lynch if the
partnership wanted to maintain its exceptional performance and growth. The first option focuses
on staying true to Edward Jones small town roots and demonstrating the value of strong personal
relationships with one s financial advisor in planning for the distribution phase of life (Faux,

to clients the importance of planning for the distribution phase as soon as possible and hopefully
encourage client referrals. Also, a professional advisor who personally knows the clients and their

on time sensitive decisions. This defensive move could stunt the firm s growth, and if it fails, could
leave Edward Jones even more vulnerable to cannibalization.

Fast fashion is a force that needs constant change from retailers; new garments and new trends cycle

factories, comparable to the Rana Plaza disaster in Bangladesh, and the run off pollution these

introduction to slow fashion came from this demand of wanting a better understanding of the

Slowing down the consumption that is encouraged by fast fashion will help reduce raw materials
and decrease fashion production, allowing the earth time to regenerate and heal from the damage
industry creates to the environment (1B). Linda Greer, a senior scientist at the NRDC (Natural

accountable for its manufacturing aboard. Clean by Design is a program created by the NRDC that

Restore the Youth, Restore the Community
A Collaborative Action Plan to Reduce Recidivism in Englewood

Overview
The chief problem in any community cursed with crime is not the punishment of the criminals, but
the preventing of the young from being trained to crime (Du Bois, 1903). Though W.E.B. Du Bois
wrote this quote well over a century ago, it still reflects the truth we hold today. This is especially
apparent when we examine the intent of the modern juvenile justice system.
The juvenile justice system operates under a system referred to as juvenile court. Although this
system was developed in Cook County, Illinois in the late ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

These reforms encompass everything from the use of solitary confinement to guidelines that
prevent a youth from even entering the institutional side of juvenile justice by using community
resources (E. Blaskey, personal communication, February 28, 2015). One of the most popular ideas
motivating this reform is the concept of restorative justice. Restorative justice looks at
accountability a bit differently from previous classic models. In the past, accountability was about
the punishment matching the crime which boils down to the classic biblical thought, an eye for an
eye. Restorative justice defines accountability as taking responsibility for your behavior and taking
action to repair the harm (BARJ, 1995). Instead of completing a punishment unrelated to the
victims, in restorative justice, an offender must come to terms with the outcome of their behavior to
the victims and other vital stakeholders in an effort to help heal all parties.
The neighborhood of Englewood in Chicago, Illinois definitely knows the effects of juvenile
crime on their community. Englewood is located on Chicago s south side and is bordered by
Garfield Boulevard to the north, 75th Street to the south, Racine Avenue to the west and State

Human papillomavirus or HPV is one of the most common viruses that are transmitted through
sexual activity. A virus is sometimes referred to an obligate intracellular parasite, which cannot

Detections methods have improved over the years for identification with the use of swabs from
cutaneous epithelium or plucked hairs. These methods primarily identify beta and gamma types of
viruses. Most infected individuals eliminate the virus without developing clinical manifestations.
Closely related types of virus can show distinct pathologies in HPV. While their genetic
sequences can be similar, their pathologies and virulence can be different. HPV six and eleven
share 85% sequence identity. HPV six is found in anogenital warts while HPV eleven is primarily
responsible for laryngeal papillomas. HPV thirteen shares a 78% likeness with both HPV six and
eleven but doesn t cause the same pathologies. HPV seven and forty have an 87% resemblance in
sequence and both cause butchers warts.
3.Structure and Function
HPV is a non enveloped virus with double stranded DNA that is protected by an icosahedral capsid.
An icosahedral is a polyhedral with twenty faces. The genome consists of double stranded circles
with approximately eight thousand base pairs containing eight or nine open reading frames. Gene
expression involves multiple promoters and complex patterns of splicing. The HPV genome
separates into three regions; the long control region, early region, and a late region. The early
region contains no coding for structural proteins in

42. Essay On The Reconstruction Plan
After the Civil War there was nothing for the soldiers to do so they went back home. In doing so
Lincoln announced his Reconstruction plan called the Ten Percent Plan, which needed ten percent
of the Southern states to take an Oath of Loyalty in order to be admitted back into the Union. This
aroused some disagreement between the Republicans and the President. The North wanted Lincoln

With the North in power the South could do nothing but try to regain their freedom, when Abraham
Lincoln was killed by John Wilkes Booth they noticed that it was going to be even harder since
there was no President on their side anymore. When Andrew Johnson came into power the North
were happy because they thought that he was anti South, but he was not. Johnson went along with
Lincoln s Ten Percent Plan giving the South some support. The North at this act planned to
impeach Johnson from Presidency but the farthest that they got was limiting his power. Johnson
did not get impeached but instead was saved by the Seven Martyrs who took the risk of being
shunned by friends and family. The North now having a lot of power decided to help the freed
slaves by passing the Fourteenth Amendment which prevented high confederate officials from
holding office. They also insisted that the South give the freed slaves the right to vote. The North
being mostly Republicans had power of the South and wanted to have the strong hold on the
Reconstruction plan. This was a hard time for the South but a great time for the
