Show How Transactions in Derivatives Can Be Used to Either...
Economics of the Financial System
Show how transactions in derivatives can be used to either hedge risk or to open speculative
positions.
Derivatives have become popular in response to the increasing volatility and complexity of
financial markets. A diverse range of new financial products have been created to enable market
participants to handle the risks arising from trade in securities and to speculate on future expected
movements in securities prices, without direct trade in the assets themselves. Derivative contract
creates a promise to deliver or trade an underlying product at some time in the future. The contract
gives one party a claim on an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If stock prices plunge over this period, the index will fall as well, and so will the futures contract on
the index in response. Amana will profit on its future position, because the future price paid at
which the index is sold will be less than price paid for the index at settlement date.
After a month, the stock market falls as anticipated, and the futures price of the DJIA is at an
index level of 19,000. DJIA futures contract are rated at ВЈ10 the DJIA index, so Amana stands to
gain. Sold DJIA futures for 20,000; receives 20,000 times ВЈ10 =ВЈ200,000 Purchased DJIA
futures for 19,000; owes 19,000 times ВЈ10 =ВЈ190,000 Gain is ВЈ200,000 ВЈ190,000 = ВЈ10,000
This shows that Amana benefits from selling a DJIA futures contract. Amana has gained from a
market decline, which can partially counterbalance the loss on its existing stock portfolio.
However, to hedge a huge stock of portfolio, Amana would have to take a short position that had a
value equal to the size of its entire stock portfolio.
Options give one party the right, but not the obligation, to buy (or sell) at a set price on an agreed
future date. Future Contracts are a means of avoiding risk but at the cost of eliminating opportunity.
A trader may prefer to hedge risks through options so he can take advantage of an unexpected

Dual Credit Course
This semester taking English dual credit I believe that not only my writing skills have improved
but my reading skills as well. Through this course I have learned how to find the deeper meanings
of other author s writings. I learned that part of understanding and comprehending comes from
being able to analyze. By learninghow to analyze my skills as a writer have improved because I am
able to use some of the other writers skills and techniques on my own paper. Overall this course has
helped me tremendously. When comparing the other dual credit course I took last year to this
course I would have to say that the difficulty of both courses is similar even though the courses are
very different. One reason that made the other dual credit course I took which was U.S. History

This year with the assignments being due on mainly Sundays it has helped substantially, I am
now able to submit the work because my Sundays are not as busy. A reason for this class being
harder is because this course was a more time demanding, but I think it may be all English
classes. The reason for it being more time consuming is because in my other classes it was
mostly just answering multiple choice questions while this course is more breaking down
components which takes a lot more thinking which take sup more time. One big advantage of
this course for me was that there were no test. I am not a very good test taker because I think too
much and sometimes get anxiety. This has affected me in other classes because my bad testing
skills results in bad grade on test which leads to the outcome of my grades falling. With there not
being any test, the stress that I would get is not there anymore. I am able to write freely and not
have anxiety and stress myself out. Another aspect of this course I believe was helpful was the peer

Essay Comparing Spinney And Native Son, By Richard Wright
Robert G. Spinney, writer of City of Big Shoulders A History of Chicago, and Richard Wright,
writer of Native Son, cover the division in the city of Chicago. Spinney takes a look at the history
of Chicago and how it has always been divided. This intern will evolve, creating a pattern as
Chicago becomes a bigger more diverse city. While Wright shows the sociological basis of a
person, and how it affects their identity. The identity in a person then effecting how that person

person, along with when a person is born, affects how they are treated, and how they treat others.
Spinney and Wright explore division, the former through patterns of division and the later through
iterations of blindness.

The Pros And Cons Of Christian Theology
According to Pew Research Center in 2015, there were counted to be 2.3 billion Christians in this
world (Hackett, McClendon,2017). What does it take to be a Christian, one should accept God into
their life, heart, soul, and mind? Accepting God into one s life consist of studying the nature of God,
by reading the Bible daily, and mediating on the scripture both night and day. In this essay of
Christian theology, a new believer, or those that are an undecided believer of God, will know the
four sources of Christian theology, what makes the four sources important to Christian living, the
limitations of these four sources, and lastly the positive and negatives of philosophy and theology.
The four sources of Christian theology are: scripture, tradition, reason, and religious experience
(Blackwell, 2017 pg.104). Scripture is explained to be used for Christian living, and instruction
written by God. Old Testament tells of God s dealing with the Israelites, and how they lived
sinfully in the sight of God. While the Israelites did not live the way, God commanded them to live
which was by the Ten Commandment ways, God still loved them unconditionally even after he
punished them. When it comes to the New Testament, God s only begotten son Jesuscame unto the
scene. Jesus came to this world to seek and to save that which was lost Luke 19:10, Matthew
18:11 KVJ). The New Testament tells of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, and with the

Buddhism as well as multiple masters and teachers. Dogen Kigen, master of Soto Zen (1200

Japan and then greatly modified it based on his own insights and criticism of Buddhism in
Japan.Dogen lost his parents at a young age and became ordained at thirteen, and then became
student of Eisai s disciples, Myozen (1184 1225). Another master was Hakuin Ekaku (1686 1769),
Ordained at fourteen and given the name Ekaku which means Wise Crane . Hakuin is known for
revitalizing the koan practice of the Rinzai School, which focused on observing the key word .
Dogen founded the Soto school of Buddhism in Japan, which stressed silent sitting and a gradual
path to enlightenment. Hakuin was a major critic of Soto Zen and believed that it was a fixation on
emptiness rather than a path to enlightenment. However, Hakuin did agree with Soto s
accessibility to the common people since it was more popular among lower class people. Both
Hakuin and Dogen were important leaders and though their approaches were vastly different each
made a lasting impact on Zen Buddhism in Japan. The foundation of Soto Zen began during
Dogens voyage to china when he started to question the effectiveness of the Koan practice. Dogen

Advocates for medicinal marijuana argue that clinical tests have established that marijuana has
definite and valid therapeutic values. It is the Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in marijuana that is the
active chemical component for the relief o pain and symptoms. Marijuana suppresses AIDS
related nausea and nausea in patients undergoing cancer chemotherapy, along with appetite loss
and abnormal pressure in the eye which leads to glaucoma, the #1 cause of blindness. Marijuana
is also believed to be a safe and inexpensive alternative in treating muscle spasms, epilepsy,
anorexia, asthma, insomnia, depression and other disorders. Marijuana is not only believed to help
with physical ailments, but psychological ones as well. A former chairman of the 1991 established
Office of Alternative Medicine s (OAM) Program Advisory Council said, When used appropriately,
marijuana could be extremely helpful to people undergoing certain kinds of emotional crises.
Then there is the opposition who says that there is still no consensus that confirms marijuana as a
legitimate medicinal agent. The opponents believe the THC damages the brain, the heart, the lungs,
the reproductive and immune systems, and that marijuana use is linked to increased aggressiveness
and violent behavior. It is also reported to reduce memory, inhibit driving ability, limit attention

Society is complex and diverse. In such a diverse society, individuals may have different life

of gender, race and ethnicity and power.

The Affects of Duchenne Muscular Distrophy
The affects of Duchenne muscular dystrophy as well as various solutions performed to provide
accurate diagnoses and treatment of Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
1.Introduction
Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is defined as a chronic form of dystrophy that is caused by a
mutated gene. This essay critically discusses Duchenne muscular dystrophy as a whole, including all
the symptoms, causes as well as treatment.
2.Overview of Duchenne muscular dystrophy
Duchenne muscular dystrophy was discovered by a French neurologist, Guillaume Duchenne.
According to Emery (1994 : 23) Guillaume Duchenne invented an instrument, Duchenne s trocar, to
remove small portions of tissue in the body (biopsy).
Duchenne muscular dystrophy is a gender linked inherited disorder. To illustrate, males only have
one X chromosome, therefore they do not have a second X chromosome to make up for the
damaged gene. Females can only become carriers of the disease, as females have a second X
chromosomes to make up for the damaged gene.

According to Green (2014) the (DMD) gene for dystrophin, which is a protein that is present in
muscles, is the second largest gene. A deficiency of dystrophin results in the damage of muscle
fibres, resulting in a loss of muscle functioning. This disorder affects mainly the legs and pelvic
region of the body. However it could also affect the heart, the respiratory system, as well as rarely
the brain. Duchenne

Tests like Slump, PA springing test, SLR, Crossed SLR, passive lumbar extension and prone spine

Altogether using cluster of findings including provocation testing, pain location, palpation, strength
testing, and mobility testing would help me to diagnose of painful SIJ pathology.
There are new tests and measures in the monolith that I will definitely like to add to my evaluation
for SIJ. The integrate mobility tests; stork test, lumbo pelvis rhythm, sacral and Ilium motion
evaluations, I did not use in the past. Measuring spine, Ilium, sacrum, hip motion and movement
patterns trough palpation and observation, I believe, would add value on my evaluation. Also,
McGill s endurance tests (core ratio) are new for me to use with PGP patients. But I can see the
correlation pelvic pain and the strength level of the abdominals.
Overall, it is difficult to evaluate and diagnose pelvic joint dysfunction. The problem is that there is

The Effect Of Bacterial Growth On Space Flight
Early studies have documented that bacterial growth increases in space flight; yet, the inherent
mechanisms beholden to this growth have not been discovered. As the bacteria devour nutrients,
they discharge corollary that can affect growth and impact ultimate cell population denseness. It is
acknowledged that these metabolic processes charge a reduction in density of the fluid zone and
the solute gradient about every cell. Along this planet, this fluctuation in density leads to an
elasticity transfer of the expelled by products. The fluid motion enclosing the cells can be changed
through the restricting of the movement to just diffusion because of the lack of activity and
deposit in the low gravity space flight surroundings. From this biophysical representation, it was
speculated that an increase in speed impacts the lag phase period and the final cell s denseness of
suspended cultures of bacteriain a deviating way. This is because of the modifications obtained in
the extra cellular fluid constitution. Contained in the paper are experiments of different
accelerations that frequently sustained this hypothesis, culmination in foreseeable growth kinetics.
Other experiments show plumes of fluid that are visible to the naked eye emerging from
metabolizing bacterial cultures. If related fluid kinetics were discovered to come about on a
microscopic level, it might inform us of how acceleration impacts bacterium growth kinetics.

Analysis Of The Human Struggle In Native Guard And Heart...
Throughout its history, humanity has struggled to thrive in the face of the unstoppable forces of
evil, nature, and its own mortality. When examining the history of humanity and considering its
achievements, it is tempting to imagine that humans have achieved much as a species, that they
have made progress against the forces gathered in opposition to them. However, when the cost is
revealed, when the humanlife paid in the name of that meager progress is counted, the results seem
to pale in comparison. The graves of the dead serve as a monument to this grim reality; humanity s
efforts to combat the advance of human evil, nature, and death are in vain. Both Natasha Trethewey

In the poem Elegy for the Native Guards, Trethewey states that there are no names carved for the
Native Guards 2nd Regiment, Union men, black phalanx. What is monument to their legacy?
(Trethewey 44). They receive no honorable grave. They receive the most barbaric of burial rites,
doomed to have fish dart among their bones (Trethewey 44). The bodies of the native guard are
cast out of sight into the ocean, neglected in an attempt to forget the evils committed against them.
Their forgotten and neglected grave symbolizes the futility of fighting against the racism of
America, as well as the futility in concealing it; even when man has destroyed all other evidence,
the bones remain to testify to the past and remind the visitors that no change has been made in the
present. Humanity s discomfort with its past atrocities can never become powerful enough to
overcome the reminder represented by the graves of the fallen. Despite its efforts to conceal its
evil, the graves of the fallen Native Guard remind humanity that the past can never be defeated and

Srinivasa Ramanujan
Srinivasa Ramanujan was one of India s greatest mathematical geniuses. He made contributions to
the analytical theory of numbers and worked on elliptic functions, continued fractions, and infinite
series. Ramanujan was born in his grandmother s house in Erode on December 22, 1887. When
Ramanujan was a year old his mother took him to the town of Kumbakonam, near Madras. His
father worked in Kumbakonam as a clerk in a cloth merchant s shop. When he was five years old,
Ramanujan went to the primary school in Kumbakonam although he would attend several different
primary schools before entering the Town High School in Kumbakonam in January 1898. At the

Ramachandra Rao told him to return to Madras and he tried, unsuccessfully, to arrange a
scholarship for Ramanujan. In 1912 Ramanujan applied for the post of clerk in the accounts
section of the Madras Port Trust. Ramanujan was appointed to the post of clerk and began his
duties on 1 March 1912. Ramanujan was quite lucky to have a number of people working round
him with training in mathematics. In fact the Chief Accountant for the Madras Port Trust, S N
Aiyar, was trained as a mathematician and published a paper On the distribution of primes in
1913 on Ramanujan s work. The professor of civil engineering at the Madras Engineering

University College London, knew the professor of mathematics there, namely M. Hill. He wrote
to Hill on 12 November 1912 sending some of Ramanujan s work and a copy of his 1911 paper
on Bernoulli numbers. Hill replied in a fairly encouraging way but showed that he had failed to
understand Ramanujan s results on divergent series. The recommendation to Ramanujan that he
read Bromwich s Theory of infinite series did not please Ramanujan much. Ramanujan wrote to E.

1913 Ramanujan wrote to G H Hardy having seen a copy of his 1910 book Orders of infinity.
Hardy studied the long list of unproved theorems which Ramanujan enclosed with

Persuasive Essay On Dogs
Plato was quoted as saying [a] dog has the soul of a philosopher ( ). Plato was one of the most
influential philosophers in history, and he agreed that dogs are more than just animals. Dogs
have always been extremely popular animals, and for good reason. They are incredibly
intelligent, talented, and versatile. Due to these characteristics, dogs are able to adopt many
different positions. Dogs can take on many roles in society including household pets, service or
therapy dogs, police dogs, and search and rescue dogs. Dogs are a staple in the typical American
household. Even the White House has been home to many dogs over the years, as every president
since Warren Harding, excluding Donald Trump, has owned a dog( ). According to a study done by
the American Pet Products Association, about 44% of American households have a dog ( ).
That is almost half of all American homes. There are types of dog for every household. Golden
retrievers are good for families with kids because they are so gentle. Labrador retrievers and
other energetic dogs are good for people with active lifestyles. Chihuahuas and other smaller
breeds are good for people who prefer to stay inside. The American Kennel Club has an online
test to determine what breed of dog would best suit a person s lifestyle depending on many
factors, such as location, activity level, and how many kids live in their home ( ). The test can help
people to determine what dog they would most likely want. There is

The World Is Too Much With Us By William Wordsworth
The Romantic period is a time when artists, poets, and writers turned their views from the
eighteenth century focus on reason and thinking. They now emphasize imagination and beauty in
nature. Reason and thinking are no longer the way to see how the world works, how to gain
experience, imagination is. Literature, writing, and art during this time find a new respect and
love for nature, the common man and childhood, senses, individual, and imagination. People at
the time were also intrigued by darker and exotic things. They felt as if it was finally acceptable
to rebel, think outside the box , and focus on human rights. Although Romantics were
concentrating on these good ideas, all of their work was not always the most pleasant. Often
times it would involve death or darkness. The Romantic period is complex one filled with
contradicting and empowering ideas and works that are remembered very well. The Raft of the

It emphasizes that the world today is too materialistic and distracted. This poem argues that
there is too much happening in the world that people often times do not appreciate it and see
what it truly is. Instead of being amazed and recognizing the beauty of nature, people ignore it
and do not care since they see it all of the time. The speaker says that people will go as far as
selling their souls to accumulate other things. The sonnet is an extended metaphor that compares
the speaker to a pagan to explain that the speaker would much rather worship other gods in order
to make himself less upset over the situation. He feels that pagans have a much stronger
appreciation and love for nature. This pagan influence can also be seen when the speaker refers to
Greek gods. According to the speaker, those gods have power over nature but still appreciates

Speech On Denture Adhesive
Introduction
Many people approach purchasing a denture adhesive with some degree of anxiety and skepticism.
However, once you get over the initial apprehensiveness, you ll come to appreciate denture
adhesives as a great way to ensure you dentures remain firmly rooted in your mouth all day long.
While there is no way to determine the absolute best denture adhesive available, today I m going to
be showing you some of the my personal favorites.
What is a Denture Adhesive?
I m sure you already understand the basic idea of a denture adhesive to prevent your dentures from
slipping off your gums throughout the day but do you know what exactly goes into one?
Obviously, all denture adhesives will vary slightly in their ingredients, but most ... Show more

It may set you back a little more than some other denture adhesives on the market, but the majority
of those who have used it insist it is worth every penny.
Pros
Extra Strong Hold
The Effergrip Denture Adhesive Cream may look rather unimpressive in terms of its packaging, but
it offers an incredible performance. With an extra strong hold, it ensures your dentures stay in place
from the moment you put them in your mouth in the morning right through to the moment you take
them out at night.
No Aftertaste
A common problem with a lot of denture adhesives is that they leave an aftertaste every time you
swallow. The Effergrip Denture Adhesive Cream, however, leaves virtually no aftertaste and allows
you to enjoy every meal you eat throughout the day.
Cons
Difficult To Find In Shops
There was a time when the Effergrip Denture Adhesive Cream was as widely available as the
products of Fixodent. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, the product has become frustratingly
difficult to find in shops across the United States of America. It can still be purchased online, but
that may prove difficult for a lot of less technologically gifted denture wearers.

The Importance Of Professionalism In Nursing
Despite enormous changes in society and the way that nursing education and training are delivered,
nursing is arguably still underpinned by professional and key personal values and beliefs (Kaya,
Isik, Senyuva, Kaya, 2016, p. 1). There is an expectation from the public that nurses are honest,
caring individuals. According to Gallup s yearly review, nurses have been rated the highest among
professionals for 15 years straight, with 84% of the public rating them high or very high for being
honest individuals. (Norman, 2016). Therefore, the public has high expectations for the character
and professionalism that nurses should possess. Furthermore, within the Code of Ethics for Nurses,
the first three provisions describe the most fundamental values and commitments of the nurse
(American Nurses Association, 2001). Throughout the bachelors education obtained at Viterbo,
nurses are educated and encouraged throughout this outcome. Kaya, et. stated that nursing educators
are challenged with students coming into their educational experience with their own beliefs and
values that they developed throughout their life experiences, and having them leave as nurses who
have implemented their professional values into their practices and behaviors (Kaya, Isik,
Senyuva, Kaya, 2016, p. 2). I will break down these values first by defining them. Dignity is having
respect for individuality and treating each person as a unique human being. It is the respect for the

A Photographic Reality
Chaos, a state of utter confusion or disorder. Chaos, a word often used to describe the scene of a
tragic event such as a natural disaster or an act of terrorism. Whether in movies or in real life we
have all seen chaos at work. Smoke and screams fill the air. Law enforcement franticly runs about
trying to help in any way possible. Reporters and photographers arrive in swarms to get the inside
scoop on the next ground breaking tragedy. When the Boston bombing happened on April 15, 2013
there was no exception to this pattern of events. Many photographs were taken of the aftermath, but
one photo in particular seems to have captured the frantic atmosphere of the moment. It depicts an
older man who, mid run, had been knocked ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The image I was viewing was not graphic, nor even artistically formatted. This photo had caused
a strong reaction for one reason, context. The Syrian revolution has been going on since March
of 2011. As of August of 2015, more than 250,000 people have been killed and 12 million
displaced because of the conflict (CNN Library). A total of three people died during the Boston
bombings. The drastic difference between these statistics really puts things into scale. While some
news coverage has been given to the tragedies occurring in Syria, over the years we have become
desensitized to it. When a tragic bombing occurs in our homeland, people take notice. There are
endless photos and stories written about the event. The Syrians apologetic sign sent a message of a
little more than just condolences. It took the tragic event of our country and diminished it. By
reminding us that bombings like this happen every day in Syria. For them it a common
occurrence. I don t mean to say that the Boston bombing was not a terrible incident, but when
compared to the happenings over in Syria it makes you wonder where our priorities lie.
Without the context of the Boston bombing photo, the photo of the Syrian townspeople would
have had a much lesser effect on my emotions. By piggy backing on the United states tragedy
they amplified their message. When I go back and look at that chaotic photo of the fallen runner
I see a man, who is alive, and will live to run another race. I can now see straight through the
message my eyes want me to believe. Photos can often have a broadcasted message that the artist
or photographer wants you to see, but it is our job to view things without bias or relying on prior

An Autobiography of What He Went Through as a Slave in The...
The Narrative Perspective of Frederick Douglass The Narrative of the Life of Frederick
Douglass is an autobiography written by Frederick Douglass himself. No one knows the
hardships and difficult times that Frederick Douglass went through as a slave, better than
himself. That is why Frederick Douglass is considered to be, in my opinion, is the most reliable
author when it comes to telling the story of his life as a slave. Frederick Douglass was born in
Talbot County, Maryland around the year 1817 or 1818. Soon after Douglass was born, he was
separated from his mother and was sent to Baltimore to work as a servant. Since he was separated
from his mother at such a young age, Douglass did not develop a bond with her. After her death, he

Frederick Douglass appears to be rather smart and well minded compared to the other slaves. He
was briefly taught how to read and write by Sophia Auld. Once Sophia s husband, Douglass
master, found out she was teaching him how to read and write, he immediately ordered her to
stop teaching. Douglass stated, The very decided manner with which he spoke, and strove to
impress his wife with the evil consequences of giving me instruction, served to convince me that
he was deeply sensible of the truths he was uttering . What he most dreaded, that I most desired.
What he most loved, that I most hated. That which to him was a great evil, to be carefully
shunned, was to me a great good, to be diligently sought; and the argument which he so warmly
urged, against my learning to read, only served to inspire me with a desire and determination to
learn (Douglass). That quote by Frederick Douglass is very powerful, and goes to show how
strong his motivation was to better his life. Soon after that, Douglass was able to teach himself a
bit more on how to read and write. He was a smart man, and he was very knowledgeable. After
seeing the gruesome shooting of Demby by Mr. Gore, Douglass was able to reenact the scene,
explaining all of the little details he witnessed. In a way, he used this to his advantage. He used the
gruesome stories of the terrible things that happen to other slaves, to provide a valid argument

The Reality Of Television Programs
Today s television programs are very different from the television programs that were shown over
fifty years ago. The shows in the past portrayed a modest conservative family. These families
consist of a hardworking man and a stay at home woman, married raising their own biological
children. As the years went by, television has started to portray a more liberal definition of what a
familymeans in today s world. Because of today s TV shows, there are different ideas about what a
family should look like.
Families on TV are not always a married couple containing one man and one woman raising their
own children. We now have many shows that support gay rights when it comes to marriageand
being parents. The hit comedy Modern Family has the funny loveable characters of Mitchell and
Cameron. They adopted a baby girl from Vietnam. The series also shows the wedding between
the two men, as well as the comical outcomes when they try to raise their daughter the best way
possible. As Greg Graffin wrote in his article Anarchy in the Tenth Grade It is also a shining
example of how easy it is to follow the party line and champion a bandwagon mentality which
only motivates me to keep fighting for originality. (3) This is seen on the show The Fosters , a
girl named Callie is placed in a foster home with a lesbian couple and their other adopted children.
On this show the couple showed more love and support than the previous foster homes she was
placed in, that consisted of the usual

Macbeth Witches Control
The Elizabethan chain of being is based on the idea of hierarchy and divine order. A part of this
divine order is the king who is said to be God s representative on earth; they bear the
responsibility of carrying out God s wishes on earth. However, in the case of Macbeth, instead of
god, it would be the witches. The witches are the patriarch to all of the character s in the play and
the catalyst to all of the crimes Macbethcommits. The witches portray this through their
supernatural abilities, their prophecy s control over the world, and their influence over Macbeth.
To start with, the witches use their powers to perform many supernatural tasks. The ability to
control the winds, to change states of matter, and the ability of foresight. Their control of the winds

the prophecy of him becoming king (I.III.50) creates a platform for confusion and doubt which
causes Macbeth to murder Duncan. The prophecy which the witches promised Banquo a lineage
of kings, heavily influences Macbeth into hiring murderer s to kill Banquo and his son Fleance.
Macbeth becomes fearful and insecure about his fate, causing him to become reckless and
inhumane at the end, due to the fear of losing his throne. The prophecy in which it mentions (Thou

summary, Macbeth s downfall can be directly traced back to the witches as their apparition and
prophecies caused Macbeth to become overconfident and develop a sense of greed. In act 5 scene
8, Macbeth acknowledges the influence the witches had on him through their half truths. This

In 1942, Roosevelt issued Executive Order 9066. This authorized the removal of Japanese people,
both aliens and American citizens, from certain zones, mostly in remote parts of the American west,
and placed them into detention centers and internment camps. He also issued Executive Order
9102, which created the War Relocation Authority to oversee this relocation. The internment camps
were like prisons, with harsh, uncomfortable conditions; occasionally, actual former prisons were
used. The camps were often located in the mountains. The most famous internment camps were
Manzanar, in California, and Heart Mountain, in Wyoming. While the Japanese were gone, whites

From having good grades, to studying for the ACT, in addition to trying to fit into the social
aspect in high school a teens life has never been more hard. And the invention of the smartphone
has only added to the amount of stress that a teen has to deal with. The smartphone has created an
environment in which adolescents are always connected with those they go to highschool with,
through the use of social media. For example if a bully were to be picking on a student at school
the student could not just go home and forget about the incident, but now the bully has the ability
to abuse that student at any point he/she desires. These types of incidents are creating a new wave
of problems for adolescents and their parents, Nojiri Matthew interviewed Rick Wolf (assistant
superintendent at Mifflin School district) explaining The increase in social media use has added
another element when identifying and caring for kids dealing with anxiety, depression, eating
disorders, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder and other mental health disorders, Wolf said
(Wolf). The smartphone is the catalyst to these problems. If you were to take away the
smartphone problems such as cyberbullying would be less of an issue. However adolescents these
days are given smartphones at such a young age, with no supervision on how long they use it
throughout the day, that it becomes second nature to be looking at it every minute of everyday

In short but very long buildings, there are many damaging effects during earthquake shaking. And,

Horizontal Layout of Buildings
In short, the simple geometry buildings have performed better during the earthquakes. Buildings
with re entrant corners, such as those U, V, H and + shaped in plan, have been able to sustain
significant damage. Many times, the bad effects of earthquakes can be avoided by making the
buildings in two parts. Like, an L shaped plan can be divided into two rectangular plan shapes using
a partition point at the junction. At times, the plan of buildings is simple, but the columns/walls are
not equally distributed. Such buildings tend to twist during earthquake or shaking.

Adolescent, Antisocial Behavior And Behavior
On the other hand, Moffitt (1993) also identifies adolescent limited as part of the adolescent
offenders. Adolescent limited antisocial behaviour is defined by antisocial behaviour that starts
occurring during adolescence and discontinues at the beginning of adulthood. These individuals
have no history of antisocial behaviour in their childhoodand are unlikely to continue this behaviour
in the future. They are also not consistent with their antisocial behaviour in different situations.
While life course persistent individuals act antisocially in all situations, changing their type of
antisocial behaviour to fit the circumstances, adolescent limited individuals might only express
antisocial behaviours in certain situations, but not in others.
Causes of Adolescent Limited Antisocial Behaviour
The cause of adolescent limited antisocial behaviour is theorised for one to be social mimicry.
Adolescents who do not express life course persistent antisocial behaviour, might still know or
observe individual who do. Adolescents might observe an advantage in this behaviour and start to
mimic it. This advantage might be a mature status that is accompanied by power and privilege. It
can be argued that industrialisation and the resulting consequence of children achieving the social
adult statutes later and later in life, leads to a maturity gap, where the biological age and social age
do not match up. This may lead to a increased desire for maturity statues within adolescents.

Young Goodman Brown: Analysis of his faith
Personal experience plays a vital role when authors decide on the certain topics for their stories. A
factor like religion may determine an author s writing style. For example, an author who may have
had a Christian upbringing may write about faith, hell, or salvation; in contrast, one who had a
negative experience with religion as a child, may hint at departing from their family and finding one
s own religion. A well known author from the 1800s, Nathaniel Hawthorne, implements his
religious upbringing in his stories, Young Goodman Brown, The Scarlett Letter , and The House of
Seven Gables. The use of certain thematic elements in Young Goodman Brown help readers
understand how the main character lost his faith and became bitter towards religious people.
In the year 1804, Nathaniel Hawthorne was born to Massachusetts Bay colonists; Nathaniel

Though anyone at any age can develop inflammatory bowel disease, the people between the ages
of fifteen and thirty are more likely to get diagnosed with the disease, with about 10% of cases

those with inflammatory bowel disease and other gastrointestinal problems are more likely to

disease, inflammatory bowel disease is most common in those with a European and Jewish
descent, who are Caucasian, and those who are White (CDC, Wolf, Mayo clinic). Females are more

Inflammatory bowel disease is more common in developed countries, with a greater frequency in

Feminist Theory Of Feminism
Introduction
How can we effect change in the world when only half of it is invited to feel welcome to participate
in the conversation ( Watson, 2014). In the feminist perspective, which is an extension of feminism,
there is support of equality for both women and men. Feminism is a belief that women and men
have equal rights and opportunities. There are many different branches in the feminist perspective,
one of the most interesting one is intersectional feminism. Intersectional feminism believes that
experiences of class, gender, and race can not be adequately understood unless we understand that
women of different races have different experiences.
Women of color are told everyday how they have to fit in with the beauty norms that... Show more

This period was concurrent with the anti war and civil rights movements. Still persistent issues that
existed from the first wave carried on to the second wave. These issues regarded sexuality and
reproductive rights (2005).
The third wave of feminism started in the mid 1990 s and is referred to as a response to the
perceived failures of the second wave. In the third wave we saw a new type of feminist. The new
feminist rejected that the notion of lipstick, high heels and exposed low cut necklines, identified
with male oppression. (Feminist and Intersectionality, 2017). The third wave of feminism also was
the first to emphasize that feminism was more specific to the rights of white women, rather than
women on minorities.
Intersectional feminism is often times called black feminism. It was coined as a movement by
KimberlГ©
Crenshaw. The creation of this type of feminism was concurrent with the Civil Rights Movement.
Crenshaw believed that the intersectionality experience of black women was far more powerful
than the sum of their race and sex. She believed that observations that do not take intersectionality,
fail to accurately address how black women are subordinate (DeFrancisco Palczewski, 2007).
Intersectional feminism argues that gender, race and class are intersecting oppressions ( Jones e.t
al, quoting Crenshaw, 2013). Intersectional feminism allows us to understand that while some
women are subject to sexism, some women are greater affected because

The Length Of School Calendar
Length of School Calendar For every problem there is a solution. However, no solution can be
found by running in three different directions. The same thing can be said about the current
education system in the United States. Everyone has his or her own way of fixing the current
program and everyone wants to solve it in a different manner. Recently, the main focus has been
on improving the United States standardized test score rankings among other countries. The
country has been scoring incredibly low for how developed we are considered to be. Several
solutions have been proposed: get rid of standardized tests all together, fire all teachers who
students test low, or implement a different schoolcalendar. Clearly action needs to be taken... Show

It is clear that summer seems to be causing a huge gap in education. The students remember more
when they spend less time out of the classroom. This is why year round school is a better option
for students. A common misunderstanding of the year round school year is that the school has
more days than an original school year. In all actuality, students in both types of schooling only
attend around 180 days. The only difference is that students in year round attend school with
different arrangement in breaks. It is called the 45/15 plan. This is allows students to spend 45
days in the classroom and then take a 15 day break. By following this plan students do not forget
as much material they learn. There is not much time to forget it. Students take a short break from
school and then roll right from one grade to another. By students remembering more, teachers do
not have to spend weeks reviewing the material students should have remembered from the
previous year. Year round schooling adds on time to the learning year without literally added more
time. Not only does the year round school system improve memory recall for students, it also eases
transitions for them. The

Internal Domain Name System for Company
Internal Domain Name System for Company Alpha Introduction The DNS is a vital Internet
component providing mechanisms for resolving host names into IP addresses and vice versa. In
addition, DNS supports other Internet directories concerning DNS name servers and mail
exchangers among others (Garfinkel Spafford, 1997). Despite being a universally accepted and
widely used system, insecure protocols and lack of authentication among other factors within the
DNS threaten proper functionality of the DNS. Moreover, the accuracy of the information
contained within the DNS is vital to many aspects of IP based communications. Domain Model
for the Organization The domain appropriate for this organization is the Berkeley Internet Name
Domain (BIND). This domain name is selected since it compatible with most operating systems
including UNIX; it is also used by most Internet Service Providers (Stevens, 1990). In addition,
BIND is recommended for the firm since its configuration files are easier to maintain than other
server DNSs such as Sendmail (Terry, Painter, Riggle, Zhou, 1984). Using this DNS, cache only
name servers are easily placed strategically within the internal network to remove unwanted traffic
and expensive WAN links. Moreover, BIND supports DNS SEC, TSIG IPv4 among other DNS
protocol enhancements. Given the popularity of BIND, it is often targeted by hackers. Therefore,
limiting zone transfers to slave name servers and limiting transfer in the zone can reduce the

Principles of Physics in Ultrasound Essay
Principles of Physics in Ultrasound
Physics has become an important part of medicine allowing specialist doctors and radiographers to
rapidly access a patient s condition and to help in long term diagnosis.
This enables doctor s to treat patients before their condition deteriorates.
This procedure would not be possible without the use of X rays, CAT scans, MRI scans, ultrasound
and endoscopes, which allow doctors to see inside the body with little or no surgery.
Without such equipment doctors would be forced to use invasive techniques, which could cause
patients more harm as it increases the risk of infection.

The early work in the 20th century used ultrasound as a therapy tool and it was not until the 1940 s
that research began into its use as a diagnostic tool.
The use of ultrasound in medicine began during and shortly after the 2nd World War in various
centres around the world. (NSC, UK national screening committee)
The work of Dr.Karl Theodore Dussik in Austria in 1942 on transmission ultrasound investigation of
the brain provided the first published work on medical ultrasonic s.
Although other workers in the USA, Japan and Europe have also been cited as pioneers, the work
of Professor Ian Donald and his colleagues in Glasgow, in the mid 1950s, did much to facilitate the
development of practical technology and applications.
This lead to the wider use of ultrasound in medical practice in the subsequent decades.
Rapid technological advances in electronics and piezoelectric materials provided further
improvements from energy to greyscale images, and from still images to real time moving images.
The technical advances at this time led to a rapid growth in the applications to which ultrasound
could be put.
The development of Doppler ultrasound had been progressing alongside the imaging technology,
but the fusing of the two technologies in Duplex scanning and the subsequent development of
colour Doppler imaging provided even more scope for investigating the

Material Handling Scholarship Essay
A career I will plan to do as I get older is Material Handling. I started off learning about it in Job
Corps. I am attending Job Corps right now at Finch Henry in Batesville; Ms. Yes my trade that I
am taking up is Material Handling. I wanted to try something new in life. As I stayed in there
working and learning how to drive the forklift I enjoyed it and it got easier to me. Material
Handling is the field concerned with solving the pragmatic problems involving the movement.
Storage is a manufacturing plant or warehouse control and protection of materials, goods and

on the methods, mechanical equipment, systems and related controls used to achieve these
functions. I stay in Starkville, Ms. Down there we really don t have too many Material Handling

The Culture Of A Place, Time, Or People
The culture of a place, time, or people is powerful. So much so, that thousands of years will still
allow certain observations into the lives of the people that existed in that culture. Through poems,
writings, architecture, art, clothing, tools, and more historians are able to get a slight
understanding of what or who people from different cultures prioritized, worshiped, or enjoyed.
Over time, local cultures can be diffused across wide areas, even continents. This leads to mixed
cultures, which in the globalized world today is vital so that people can understand instead of
abhorring one another. These three sources: Posidoniuswrites about the Celts (as reported by
others), Rock Edicts of Asoka, and Sima QianHistorical Record demonstrate the importance of cross
cultural interactions with examples from approximately 269 BCE to approximately 200s CE. They
show how important cross cultural interactions were to the regions they were in, how perceptions
of culturewere different to non natives, and how well the introduced culture stood the test of time,
all of which are vital to even beginning to understand how culture developed and diffused across
land and time. Although a region s inherent culture is what makes up the backbone of the people in
that region, interactions between culture through trade, travel, or conflict provide the blending of
cultures. This can be read in the Greek scholar Athenaeus citing of Posidonius circa late 100s early
200s CE, in which he remarks

The City Of Sacramento, The State Capital Of California
The city of Sacramento, the state capital of California, is confronted with the need to take action to
manage current water consumption trends with respect to climate change, an increase in
population, and an increase in business. Residential, commercial, industrial, and agricultural
demand for water are rising during the recent period of drought that triggered the notion of
conservation efforts statewide and the potential for water supplyshortage is extremely high. This is
a plan to respond to the crisis by changing the way the city manages its water supply by enacting
new structured fees for business and residential water consumption tiers and furnishing an
educational program designed to familiarize consumers with the enforcement of a new tiered fee
structure. The proposal is written in response the state s 20x2020 plan that dictates universal water
reduction with the intention of reaching a fixed 20% of overall water consumption reduction by the
end of the decade, and the CALGreen building code that regulates the implementation of water
saving technology in new and existing construction. Climate change impact on the state of
California over recent decades has generated many environmental fluctuations with the most critical
to the city of Sacramento being air temperature increase. Over the next few decades, the local
temperature may rise as much as 2В° C, badly taxing the environment to new extremes and possibly
resulting in unmet demand substantial increase in water

Au3+ reduction and visual color change from light yellow to reddish brown is meaning the
formation of Au NPs. Therefore, this color change is due to Surface Plasmon Resonance(SPR)

The porosity and volumetric characteristics of the materials were evaluated by volumetric
analyses. In both materials (Fig. 4), the Type IV N2 adsorption desorption isotherms with H1
type hysteresis corresponded to condensation and evaporation steps, and were characteristic of
periodic mesoporous materials. The textural properties of SBA 15, NH2 SBA 15 and Fe3O4
SBA 15 Cya Cit Au NPs have been summarized in Table 1. It is noteworthy that the surface area,
pore volume, and pore size decreased following the modification, confirming that the surface
modification occurred on the inner surface of the silica wall [23]. A considerable decrease in the
BET surface area upon grafting of cyanuric citric acid and Au nanocrystallites at the surface of the
functionalized SBA 15 material (B) clearly suggests that the cyanuric citric acid and Au
nanoparticles have been anchored on the inner surface of the mesopores.

The Lucid Dreaming And How Can It Be A Method Of...
Introduction
Those who experience lucid dreaming in the stage of REM sleep are aware of their dreams and
able to control their dreams. Lucid dreaming could be a possible treatment for those with post
traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) who suffer from nightmares. During lucid dreaming in a
nightmare, the PTSD patients would be able to let go of their fear by recognizing the threats
they have in their dreams are not real. PTSD patients can also transform their dreams into
something more pleasant or try to wake up from their sleep. A case study proved this idea to be
true; the reoccurring dreams the patients would experience were going away after they were
introduced into lucid dreaming. Lucid dreaming could be difficult to accomplish, but there are
several techniques that can trigger lucid dreaming. For a period of time, researchers have been
pondering and searching for ways to help those who suffers from post traumatic stress disorder.
This topic is interesting to investigate lucid dreaming and how can it be a method of psychotherapy
for posttraumatic stress disorder. During this research, online, primary, and book resources were
used. Therefore, this essay will deal with the following research question: How can lucid dreaming
be used as a method of psychotherapy in those who suffer from post traumatic stress disorder?
What is Post Traumatic Stress Disorder?
Post traumatic stress disorder is an anxiety disorder that is developed after experiencing a

Business Skills For A Business
Business skills
Business skills are skills which are needed by candidates for a business to recruit them. I have
some business skills and they are communication skills, confidence, leadership, I am organised
and I can prioritise tasks appropriately. I have extensive experience in delivering presentations to
large groups. This has enhanced my skills such as confidence, clarity and self belief. One of the
presentations that I delivered included designing a new product for coca cola. The goal was to
provide a drink that was healthy as well as attractive to customers. This task provided me with the
opportunity to gain new skills such as research and teamwork. Further to this, I was also able to
recognise a few weaknesses that I was able to improve through teamwork and effective
communication such as differences of opinion and disagreements.
I am very well organised as I always arrive to school on time, with the required books and
equipment. This shows my punctuality and my desire to progress. My school attendance is 100%
as I have not missed a single day of school. I also have a lot of leadership skills because I have been
appointed to be group leader in many situations. For example, when I had to create a podcast for
cyber bullying with my team, I had to show leadership and organise my team by setting them
different tasks and giving them deadlines according to each individuals skill set. This shows that I
can be responsible and cope under pressure.

Honey Bee Virulence Report
Discussion With this information, it can help build the foundations needed to find anti virulence
factors against P. larvae to reduce the need for antibiotics. The current treatments options available
for AFB are becoming progressively obsolete due to antibiotic resistance. Honey bee colonies are
constantly exposed to these antibiotics until approximately two weeks before the honey is collected
(Caron and Connor, 2013). As mentioned previously, this is the only effective way of killing the
vegetative cells, but not the spores. The spores still persist within the colony and once the
bacterium becomes resistant to treatment, it results in disastrous outcomes (Caron and Connor,
2013). Therefore, treatments that could neutralize these virulence factors should be sought after.
Also, with the use of antibiotics, there are possibilities of toxic residues being found in the honey.
This could take a devastating toll on the individuals who consume this hive product. Therefore, the
need for natural treatments are becoming popular because of regulations related... Show more

It provides the necessary knowledge of whether or not honey bee larvae can survive and develop in
a laboratory setting. Once possible treatment options begin to emerge, the uninfected larvae could
be exposed to these alternatives. These larvae can be observed for any anomalies throughout the
developmental period to determine the effects of these potential treatments. Unfortunately, during
the experimental process none of the larvae made it to the adult stage in the control plate. This was
partly due to the development of mold during the larval stage. With the elevated humidity levels
and the presence of condensation within the incubator, it provided optimal conditions for mold
growth. The mold caused undesirable larval death for almost half of the larvae; therefore, it may

  • 2. Show How Transactions in Derivatives Can Be Used to Either... Economics of the Financial System Show how transactions in derivatives can be used to either hedge risk or to open speculative positions. Derivatives have become popular in response to the increasing volatility and complexity of financial markets. A diverse range of new financial products have been created to enable market participants to handle the risks arising from trade in securities and to speculate on future expected movements in securities prices, without direct trade in the assets themselves. Derivative contract creates a promise to deliver or trade an underlying product at some time in the future. The contract gives one party a claim on an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If stock prices plunge over this period, the index will fall as well, and so will the futures contract on the index in response. Amana will profit on its future position, because the future price paid at which the index is sold will be less than price paid for the index at settlement date. After a month, the stock market falls as anticipated, and the futures price of the DJIA is at an index level of 19,000. DJIA futures contract are rated at ВЈ10 the DJIA index, so Amana stands to gain. Sold DJIA futures for 20,000; receives 20,000 times ВЈ10 =ВЈ200,000 Purchased DJIA futures for 19,000; owes 19,000 times ВЈ10 =ВЈ190,000 Gain is ВЈ200,000 ВЈ190,000 = ВЈ10,000 This shows that Amana benefits from selling a DJIA futures contract. Amana has gained from a market decline, which can partially counterbalance the loss on its existing stock portfolio. However, to hedge a huge stock of portfolio, Amana would have to take a short position that had a value equal to the size of its entire stock portfolio. Options give one party the right, but not the obligation, to buy (or sell) at a set price on an agreed future date. Future Contracts are a means of avoiding risk but at the cost of eliminating opportunity. A trader may prefer to hedge risks through options so he can take advantage of an unexpected ... Through this course I have learned how to find the deeper meanings of other author s writings. I learned that part of understanding and comprehending comes from being able to analyze. By learninghow to analyze my skills as a writer have improved because I am able to use some of the other writers skills and techniques on my own paper. Overall this course has helped me tremendously. This year with the assignments being due on mainly Sundays it has helped substantially, I am now able to submit the work because my Sundays are not as busy. A reason for this class being harder is because this course was a more time demanding, but I think it may be all English classes. The reason for it being more time consuming is because in my other classes it was mostly just answering multiple choice questions while this course is more breaking down components which takes a lot more thinking which take sup more time. One big advantage of this course for me was that there were no test. I am not a very good test taker because I think too much and sometimes get anxiety. This has affected me in other classes because my bad testing skills results in bad grade on test which leads to the outcome of my grades falling. With there not being any test, the stress that I would get is not there anymore. I am able to write freely and not have anxiety and stress myself out. Another aspect of this course I believe was helpful was the peer ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Compare And Contrast Dogen And Ekakun Marilyn Montemayor Warner Belanger GC2Y Sec 06 May 4, 2016 Final essay: Dogen and Hakuin Compare and Contrast There are multiple schools in Zen Buddhism as well as multiple masters and teachers. Dogen Kigen, master of Soto Zen (1200 1253), as well as the Japanese monk who brought Caodong school of Chan over from China to Japan and then greatly modified it based on his own insights and criticism of Buddhism in Japan.Dogen lost his parents at a young age and became ordained at thirteen, and then became student of Eisai s disciples, Myozen (1184 1225). Another master was Hakuin Ekaku (1686 1769), Ordained at fourteen and given the name Ekaku which means Wise Crane . Hakuin is known for revitalizing the koan practice of the Rinzai School, which focused on observing the key word . Dogen founded the Soto school of Buddhism in Japan, which stressed silent sitting and a gradual path to enlightenment. Hakuin was a major critic of Soto Zen and believed that it was a fixation on emptiness rather than a path to enlightenment. However, Hakuin did agree with Soto s accessibility to the common people since it was more popular among lower class people. Both Hakuin and Dogen were important leaders and though their approaches were vastly different each made a lasting impact on Zen Buddhism in Japan. The foundation of Soto Zen began during Dogens voyage to china when he started to question the effectiveness of the Koan practice. Dogen was the first in Zen to focus on intensive ... On my Google site, I have provided a summative Year 8 Examination for the topic Views and Perspectives. This examination demonstrates my understanding of the Graduate Descriptor 5.1.1. The task for EDFD307: Educational Assessment was to design an end of topic or mid year examination to assess my students achievement of the syllabus outcomes in the unit of work, which was (Stage 4, Year 8) View and Perspectives. The Affects of Duchenne Muscular Distrophy The affects of Duchenne muscular dystrophy as well as various solutions performed to provide accurate diagnoses and treatment of Duchenne muscular dystrophy. 1.Introduction Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is defined as a chronic form of dystrophy that is caused by a mutated gene. This essay critically discusses Duchenne muscular dystrophy as a whole, including all the symptoms, causes as well as treatment. 2.Overview of Duchenne muscular dystrophy Duchenne muscular dystrophy was discovered by a French neurologist, Guillaume Duchenne. According to Emery (1994 : 23) Guillaume Duchenne invented an instrument, Duchenne s trocar, to remove small portions of tissue in the body (biopsy). Duchenne muscular dystrophy is a gender linked inherited disorder. To illustrate, males only have one X chromosome, therefore they do not have a second X chromosome to make up for the damaged gene. Females can only become carriers of the disease, as females have a second X chromosomes to make up for the damaged gene. http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/imagepages/19097.htm According to Green (2014) the (DMD) gene for dystrophin, which is a protein that is present in muscles, is the second largest gene. A deficiency of dystrophin results in the damage of muscle fibres, resulting in a loss of muscle functioning. This disorder affects mainly the legs and pelvic region of the body. • 18. The Effect Of Bacterial Growth On Space Flight Early studies have documented that bacterial growth increases in space flight; yet, the inherent mechanisms beholden to this growth have not been discovered. As the bacteria devour nutrients, they discharge corollary that can affect growth and impact ultimate cell population denseness. It is acknowledged that these metabolic processes charge a reduction in density of the fluid zone and the solute gradient about every cell. Along this planet, this fluctuation in density leads to an elasticity transfer of the expelled by products. The fluid motion enclosing the cells can be changed through the restricting of the movement to just diffusion because of the lack of activity and deposit in the low gravity space flight surroundings. From this biophysical representation, it was speculated that an increase in speed impacts the lag phase period and the final cell s denseness of suspended cultures of bacteriain a deviating way. This is because of the modifications obtained in the extra cellular fluid constitution. Contained in the paper are experiments of different accelerations that frequently sustained this hypothesis, culmination in foreseeable growth kinetics. Other experiments show plumes of fluid that are visible to the naked eye emerging from metabolizing bacterial cultures. If related fluid kinetics were discovered to come about on a microscopic level, it might inform us of how acceleration impacts bacterium growth kinetics. Introduction Most discoveries point to ... Throughout its history, humanity has struggled to thrive in the face of the unstoppable forces of evil, nature, and its own mortality. When examining the history of humanity and considering its achievements, it is tempting to imagine that humans have achieved much as a species, that they have made progress against the forces gathered in opposition to them. However, when the cost is revealed, when the humanlife paid in the name of that meager progress is counted, the results seem to pale in comparison. Literature, writing, and art during this time find a new respect and love for nature, the common man and childhood, senses, individual, and imagination. People at the time were also intrigued by darker and exotic things. They felt as if it was finally acceptable to rebel, think outside the box , and focus on human rights. Although Romantics were concentrating on these good ideas, all of their work was not always the most pleasant. Often times it would involve death or darkness. According to Gallup s yearly review, nurses have been rated the highest among professionals for 15 years straight, with 84% of the public rating them high or very high for being honest individuals. Horizontal Layout of Buildings In short, the simple geometry buildings have performed better during the earthquakes. Buildings with re entrant corners, such as those U, V, H and + shaped in plan, have been able to sustain significant damage. Many times, the bad effects of earthquakes can be avoided by making the buildings in two parts. Like, an L shaped plan can be divided into two rectangular plan shapes using a partition point at the junction. At times, the plan of buildings is simple, but the columns/walls are not equally distributed. Such buildings tend to twist during earthquake or shaking. Vertical Layout of Buildings The earthquake forces developed at a building differs for different floor levels. This force is supposed to be brought down along the shortest height to the ground or it may path results in poor performance of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Adolescent, Antisocial Behavior And Behavior On the other hand, Moffitt (1993) also identifies adolescent limited as part of the adolescent offenders. Adolescent limited antisocial behaviour is defined by antisocial behaviour that starts occurring during adolescence and discontinues at the beginning of adulthood. These individuals have no history of antisocial behaviour in their childhoodand are unlikely to continue this behaviour in the future. They are also not consistent with their antisocial behaviour in different situations. While life course persistent individuals act antisocially in all situations, changing their type of antisocial behaviour to fit the circumstances, adolescent limited individuals might only express antisocial behaviours in certain situations, but not in others. Causes of Adolescent Limited Antisocial Behaviour The cause of adolescent limited antisocial behaviour is theorised for one to be social mimicry. Adolescents who do not express life course persistent antisocial behaviour, might still know or observe individual who do. Adolescents might observe an advantage in this behaviour and start to mimic it. This advantage might be a mature status that is accompanied by power and privilege. It can be argued that industrialisation and the resulting consequence of children achieving the social adult statutes later and later in life, leads to a maturity gap, where the biological age and social age do not match up. This may lead to a increased desire for maturity statues within adolescents. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Young Goodman Brown: Analysis of his faith Personal experience plays a vital role when authors decide on the certain topics for their stories. A factor like religion may determine an author s writing style. For example, an author who may have had a Christian upbringing may write about faith, hell, or salvation; in contrast, one who had a negative experience with religion as a child, may hint at departing from their family and finding one s own religion. A well known author from the 1800s, Nathaniel Hawthorne, implements his religious upbringing in his stories, Young Goodman Brown, The Scarlett Letter , and The House of Seven Gables. The use of certain thematic elements in Young Goodman Brown help readers understand how the main character lost his faith and became bitter towards religious people. There are many different branches in the feminist perspective, one of the most interesting one is intersectional feminism. In the third wave we saw a new type of feminist. The new feminist rejected that the notion of lipstick, high heels and exposed low cut necklines, identified with male oppression. Intersectional feminism is often times called black feminism. It was coined as a movement by KimberlГ© Crenshaw. The creation of this type of feminism was concurrent with the Civil Rights Movement. Crenshaw believed that the intersectionality experience of black women was far more powerful than the sum of their race and sex. She believed that observations that do not take intersectionality, fail to accurately address how black women are subordinate (DeFrancisco Palczewski, 2007). Intersectional feminism argues that gender, race and class are intersecting oppressions ( Jones e.t al, quoting Crenshaw, 2013). This is why year round school is a better option for students. A common misunderstanding of the year round school year is that the school has more days than an original school year. In all actuality, students in both types of schooling only attend around 180 days. The only difference is that students in year round attend school with different arrangement in breaks. It is called the 45/15 plan. This is allows students to spend 45 days in the classroom and then take a 15 day break. By following this plan students do not forget as much material they learn. There is not much time to forget it. Students take a short break from school and then roll right from one grade to another. By students remembering more, teachers do not have to spend weeks reviewing the material students should have remembered from the previous year. Internal Domain Name System for Company Internal Domain Name System for Company Alpha Introduction The DNS is a vital Internet component providing mechanisms for resolving host names into IP addresses and vice versa. In addition, DNS supports other Internet directories concerning DNS name servers and mail exchangers among others (Garfinkel Spafford, 1997). Despite being a universally accepted and widely used system, insecure protocols and lack of authentication among other factors within the DNS threaten proper functionality of the DNS. Moreover, the accuracy of the information contained within the DNS is vital to many aspects of IP based communications. Domain Model for the Organization The domain appropriate for this organization is the Berkeley Internet Name Domain (BIND). This domain name is selected since it compatible with most operating systems including UNIX; it is also used by most Internet Service Providers (Stevens, 1990). In addition, BIND is recommended for the firm since its configuration files are easier to maintain than other server DNSs such as Sendmail (Terry, Painter, Riggle, Zhou, 1984). Using this DNS, cache only name servers are easily placed strategically within the internal network to remove unwanted traffic and expensive WAN links. Moreover, BIND supports DNS SEC, TSIG IPv4 among other DNS protocol enhancements. Given the popularity of BIND, it is often targeted by hackers. (NSC, UK national screening committee) The work of Dr.Karl Theodore Dussik in Austria in 1942 on transmission ultrasound investigation of the brain provided the first published work on medical ultrasonic s. Although other workers in the USA, Japan and Europe have also been cited as pioneers, the work of Professor Ian Donald and his colleagues in Glasgow, in the mid 1950s, did much to facilitate the development of practical technology and applications. This lead to the wider use of ultrasound in medical practice in the subsequent decades. Rapid technological advances in electronics and piezoelectric materials provided further improvements from energy to greyscale images, and from still images to real time moving images. The technical advances at this time led to a rapid growth in the applications to which ultrasound could be put. The current treatments options available for AFB are becoming progressively obsolete due to antibiotic resistance. Honey bee colonies are constantly exposed to these antibiotics until approximately two weeks before the honey is collected (Caron and Connor, 2013). As mentioned previously, this is the only effective way of killing the vegetative cells, but not the spores. The spores still persist within the colony and once the bacterium becomes resistant to treatment, it results in disastrous outcomes (Caron and Connor, 2013). Therefore, treatments that could neutralize these virulence factors should be sought after. Also, with the use of antibiotics, there are possibilities of toxic residues being found in the honey.
