The region was later called by the Spaniards as Ylocos or Ilocos and its people Ilocanos . The
Ilocos Region was already a thriving, fairly advanced cluster of towns and settlements familiar
to Chinese, Japanese and Malay traders when the Spaniard explorer Don Juan de Salcedo and
members of his expedition arrived in Vigan on June 13, 1572. Forthwith, they made Cabigbigaan

should not be arranged for reasons of money, religion, or reputation because physical and mental
abuse are common, the freedom that people are granted is limited by denying the pursuit of

14. Essay on Compare and Contrast Two Leadership Styles
Leadership can be defined as the ability to lead a group of people successfully in an organization.
Hall, et al (2008) have mentioned that an effective leader has to be visionary, motivating and
responsible in order to successfully run a business organization. In business the two key leadership
styles, which are widely used in today s corporate world are autocratic leadershipand democratic
leadership (Johnson, n.d.). Autocratic leadership may be explained as a leadership style where the
manager sets objectives, allocates tasks and insists on obedience (Hall, et al 2008 p.g 401).
Conversely, democratic leadership encourages participation in decision making (Hall, et al 2008

The leader must be able to explain ideas clearly to employees and understand any feedback they
receive (Hall, et al 2008 p.g 402). Though rate of production with a democratic style of leadership
might be slower than in an autocratic due to low supervision, it could be disputed that workers can
work more freely as there is less stress to perform.
A further aspect of leadership, which can also be believed to have a direct link with communication,
is decision making. Both leadership styles are similar in the way that ideas need to be stored
before making a business decision. In an autocratic work place decisions are made independently
with little or no input from the rest of the group (Riley, 2012 n.p.). However, in a democratic
society employees have greater involvement in decision making (Riley, 2012 n.p.). Both these
types of leadership have their benefits and disadvantages with respect to decision making. In his
research on different types of leadership, Joseph, (n.d.) stated that autocratic leadership style could
be effective in a business environment as decisions can be made quickly without consulting with
workers. According to Cherry, (n.d.) this type of leadership would be advantageous in situations
such as the military where decisions need to be taken quickly. Though quick decision making can
be beneficial, it could be argued that it can lead to a demotivated workforce. Employees motivation

Many young children struggle with mastering the /r/ sound. This sound can be challenging for
them to master. Here are a few tricks you can use at home to help your child master the /r/ sound.
Understanding The Challenge
In order to help your child master the /r/ sound, you first have to understand why it is a challenging
sound for your child to master in the first place.
This sound is often considered one of the hardest to master sounds in the English language in large
part because three different actions have to be performed together in order to produce the /r
/ sound. The /r/ sound requires the use of one s lips, tongue and throat. All three of these ares of

17. Literary Analysis Of Sylvia Plath s Daddy
Sylvia Plath, an incredibly renowned poet and novelist, is well known for her macabre, troubling,
yet amusing works of literature. One of the hallmarks of this is her poem Daddy. In this poem, the
speaker figuratively describes her relationship with her father through many caustic, abrasive
metaphors. The narrator emphasizes her resentment towards her father in this poem, however, the
speaker is unable to conceal the fact that she loves him as well. As such, this poem is filled with
raw emotional turmoil and no clear ideological champion by the end.
One of the most striking things about this poem is the continuous metaphor Plath uses comparing
the speaker s father to a Nazi and the speaker to a Jew. This simile conveys to the reader the degree
to which the narrator has suffered at the hands of her father. The narrator indicates that she is
not actually Jewish in her use of simile here: she states that she is like a Jew (34), which implies
that the speaker is distancing herself from actual Jews. However, the speaker says she may well
be a Jew (35) because her father s words served as an engine Chuffing [her] off like a Jew [...] to
Dachau, Auschwitz, Belsen (33). In choosing to describe her relationship with her father as
analogous to the holocaust one of the most horrific, cruel, and inhumane events in human history
the narrator conveys the feeling of being tortured by her father. The narrator paints herself as a
helpless victim by saying that she related to people on trains to concentration camps. Although this
is a gross exaggeration of the speaker s circumstances, her use of this metaphor shows the
undeniably intense pain the speaker experienced at the hands of her father.
In addition to the animosity the speaker clearly has towards her father, another component
contributing to this disdain is fear of her father. In the first stanza, the narrator describes her father
as a black shoe/ In which [she has] lived like a foot/ For thirty years, poor and white,/ Barely
daring to breathe or Achoo (2 5). This is a telling metaphor because in the narrator describing
herself as the poor white foot in a black shoe, it demonstrates that she is unable to escape a
constraint which should not be forced

stereotypes for comedic purposes. As seen in The Big Bang Theory, there is a display of an
Indian stereotype portrayed through Raj. His accent leaves the audience thinking all Indians
have accents and can be looked down upon for love opportunities due to racial colour as
compared to the rest of the cast. This gives audiences a reason to laugh at these group of people
as the labels implied on the show are used in a humorous way people will not realize that it
offends the racial group. Seen in Hollywood s past hit series such as Martin and Friends, there is
an absence of various cultural/racial groups. This deflects different forms of stereotypes but, what
is missing is the representation of various cultural groups. This leads to a... Show more content on

Hollywood s attempt at representing a culture has left with stereotyping Arabs. The clothing
worn by the women in the movie neglects their religion which leaves a negative impression
towards the younger audience about this society. The representation of this culture is poorly
displayed which would create controversy with specific groups of people. Hollywood is
succeeding in showing audiences how black women stereotypically behave. This is reinforced in
How to Get Away with Murder by Annalise Keating. She is seen being unfaithful which promotes
labels on black people going after any sexual opportunities that are open. She is also seen as a
short tempered and loud individual when conflicts arise. An accurate portrayal of these people is
not being shown but instead the prejudices that are being carried out from decades ago are being

Misrepresentation and Domination of Woman in Strindberg s Miss Julie This paper examines
misrepresentation and domination of women in August Strindberg s play Miss Julie. In this play
Strindberg presents his misogynist attitude by presenting Julie as a degenerated man hating half
woman that indicates he holds a firmly conservative position regarding the role of women in society
that makes one s superiority over another. Julie s free thinking and sexually aggressive behavior
positions her in the new women category that raises the feminist voice against patriarchy. And the
fact that these actions lead towards her destruction clearly indicates Strindberg s opposition to
liberal feminism. Despite of all rebellious activities of Julie she becomes the victim of male
domination. Feminism is a complaint against patriarchy that refuses the cultural definition of
women which attempts to fix women s identity within the male dominated canon. It breaks the
social bondage of patriarchy. Feminists believe that masculine and feminine roles are constructed
by society. As Simmone de Beauvoir states one is not... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Julie shows her will to take a caged bird with her because that is only creature whom she loves
most. But Jean denies and his cruelty reaches into its height when he chops that bird in chopping

also foreshadows Julie s disaster at the hand of Jean. She starts cursing herself and all the
moments which she spend with him and also curses that moment when she conceived in her
mother s womb and says he should also kill her like that innocent creature. She becomes helpless
in front of him. She shows her disgust for males in her statement: I d like to see the whole of your

24. How Did The Mexican American War Dbq
The Mexican American War helped change in territorial rights between Mexico and the United
States. For Mexico, the war was unnecessary for and was only fought to protect their land and the
people living in it. While for United States, it was seen as a conquest of gaining the land that
they believe was their God given right. The Mexican American war is seen as an imperialist war
due to the developing independence in Texas, America s imperialism resulting in Manifest
Destiny, and its Post war expansion. In 1830, After the revolt against Mexican authority, Texas
desire of becoming its own independent republic became stronger. This later turned into a full on
battle for the Alamo and Goliad. After winning these battles the Texian volunteers fought against
the Mexican army, while this was happening American colony political leaders met in convention
and declared Texas independence as of March 2nd 1836. Later after turning on San Houston,
Santa Anne was defeated and executed at the battle of San Jacinto on April 21 1836. The next day
San Houston was captured and forced to sign the treaty of Velasco promising to withdraw all
Mexican troops from Texas, end the war and recognize the independence of Texas. This is shown in

26. Rfid ( Radio Frequency Identification )
INTRODUCTION
RFID (radio frequency identification) is a technology that was originally developed for use in
transponders in aircrafts during the Second World War. RFID is an information and sensor
technology that can be attached or inserted into objects to collect data through reader devices and
tags. It uses wireless radio waves to transmit and uses devices such as RFID readers, RFID tags, and
middleware. The RFID system consists of three components
1.The transponder, which is a small electronic data carrying tag that is attached to the product to be
identified.
2.A reader that uses radio frequency signals to communicate with the tag
3.A data processing system that stores information about the tagged products.

RFID IN WAREHOUSE MANAGEMENT
In the last decade RFID has gained popularity in the logistics and supply chain management fields.
Many warehouses are taking into consideration the adoption of RFID to reduce the operating cost
against the requirement to build an automatic warehouse and labour intensive manual checking. For
warehousing the parameters include communication range, amount of transmittable data,
communication time and speed of tag communication. The communication range is the distance
within which the reader can transmit or receive data to the tag. Beyond this range the items
become undetectable. The amount of data that is transmitted between the tag and reader affects
the performance in terms of transmission time and accuracy. The communication time also
impacts the performance of the RFID system. There is a choke point which is the fixed reader
and the RFID is constrained to a maximum travel velocity when passing the fixed reader
location. When travelling beyond this speed the accuracy to read is very close to zero. So when
greater volume of data is passing the tag will have to essentially pass the reader more slowly for an
accurate read, especially in warehouses.
In a warehouse four activities generally occur. In the first activity the receiving dock receives the
shipments that arrive at from the factory. With the

A powerful quote was once said by Heidi Wills. We can choose to be affected by the world or we
can choose to affect the world. In the novel Things Fall Apart, Okonkwo has only experienced
the land of Umuofia, but he decides to take action to affect the world , even though he s only in
a microscopic part of it. One example of him doing this was Ikemefuna, a boy that he got from
another tribe, looked up to Okonkwo like a father figure. However, when the tribe agreed to kill
Ikemefuna, and the boy was crying out for his father to help him, Okonkwo helped join in the

The struggle of sibling rivalry over ability and temperament has taken East of Eden in a whole

for something physical, mental, or something emotional. The sibling rivalry from the biblical
characters embraced Steinbeck s characters throughout every concept in the novel, the good vs.
evil confines the characters personality in every idea of Steinbeck s novel. From the biblical story

The Dark Crystal Film Analysis Making its debut 1982, The Dark Crystal, created and directed by
puppeteers Jim Henson and Frank Oz, was a fantasy film that involved intricate puppeteers and
animatronics. Aside from The Muppets and Sesame Street, which involves more comedic skits to
relay their message to its viewers, The Dark Crystal was a different kind of muppet movie because
it used fantasy, fiction and action to tell its story. With this change in Jim Hensons usual way of
story telling, the fantasy aspect of the movie becomes associated with the narrative patterns and
functions of Propp. As the story line progresses throughout the film, some of the 31 ... Show more

Later in the film, both Jen and Kira arrive at the Castle of the Crystal but is encountered by
Chamberlain again. This is significant because although Chamberlain attempts to deceive them
again, he ends up capturing Kira, forcing Jen and Chamberlain to join in direct combat ,
exhibiting the sixteenth function of Propp. This demonstrates an aspect of one of the struggles a
hero has to face in his or her journey. As Jen attempts to rescue Kira, he finds the location of the
dark crystal , bring him one step closer in achieving his quest. The final challenge is presented
when Jen is on top of the dark crystal and after a failed attempt, resulting in the death of Kira, Jen
succeeds in the end by uniting the shard with the dark crystal fulfilling the prophecy and restoring
the planet to its previous state. Thus showing the final function of Propp: resolution of the task. All
these functions create the structure of Henson s fantasy movie and helps tell a story that keeps its
viewers wanting to know what is going to happen next. With Henson using these narrative patterns
and intricately designed puppets to tell a story to children, it provides a change from laughter and
comedy to something filled with excitement and suspense. In doing so, it gives children a chance
to enter a different dimension and maximize their ability to imagine. Fairytales and fantasies have
existed to tell children s stories because of their ability to bring a child

30. Analysis Of Homo Sapiens And The Hunger Games
There are a lot of questions raised throughout this course thus far, that address the key concepts
that have been explored both from the readings as well as The Hunger Games. Homo Sapiens by
Yuval Harari explored the various ways that homo sapiens have evolved, both good and bad. Harari
identifies the trademark events in history that catapulted homo sapiens into the fast track adaptation
that we had. Because of the agricultural, cognitive, and industrial revolution, homo sapiens were
able to change how we see individual potential. Not only did homo sapiens evolve as a whole, but
these revolutions allowed for individual strive and determination. The readings on ethicsallowed for
an insightful view into how cultures interact with each other and how relationships can be
affected, both positively and negatively. Finally, the showing of The Hunger Games touched on
dystopias and how they make for a division in society. The Hunger Games showed how imagined
orders are able to take charge and manipulate the members in a community. The first question
raised in the syllabus is, what is the difference between surviving and thriving? At the beginning
of this class, I would have answered this question very differently. Prior to the knowledge that I
now have, I would have said that they are pretty much one in the same. However, Homo Sapiens
especially has proven how different these two states of emotion are. For example, Harari brought
up the issue of factory raised animals and how

31. Persuasive Essay On Saving For Retirement
When you are young you always hear people saying it is never too early to start saving for
retirement, but at that age the last thing you want to do is put your money towards ending the
career you are just trying to start. It is hard to imagine a time where you won t have to go to
work on a daily basis, to make a wage, in order to pay your bills, but the ultimate goal is getting
to that time in your life where you don t have to go to work and the bills are already taken care
of. The hope for everyone is that the bills are taken care of and you are able to focus on leisurely
things you did not have an opportunity for while employed. What we fail to realize is that the
longer we wait to save the more we have to be concerned with the pressure of time running out and
not enough money saved. Not to mention the sooner you start savingthe more time you give your
money to grow.
Let s be honest, we simply can never have enough money, so when you are planning for a time
where you have no income you must prepare accordingly. Many Americans are under the false
impression that when they retire Social Security will cover their living expenses, but the reality is
that the average Social Security benefit is $1180.80 per month. With the federal minimum wage
being $7.25, a Social Security check is nearly equivalent to a minimum wage job, which is hardly
a livable income for most people. The average wage needed for a two bedroom apartment

32. The Nature And Role Of Law In Democracy
The nature and role of law is important to political theory because the use of law raises important
questions about oppression versus liberation and morality. Law in a democracy in relation to the
citizens that it governs should strive not to oppress, but rather to liberate and assist citizens when
in conflict with higher officials or fellow citizens. Laws in a democracy should be held with the
intent of safeguarding the public and promoting the common good. John Stuart Mill makes a valid
point when he says: The only purpose for which power can rightfully be exercised over any
member of a civilized community against his will is to prevent harm to others.
In addition to this, there is a fine line between the law and morality, as not every citizen shares the
same moral values. Law is able to be more finite, as it has a written set of rules that citizens should
strive to follow. However, morality is more subjective, as it weighs the right and wrong in given
situations.
The rule of law simply states that the law should be the overarching guideline. The rule of law
provides a framework that both citizens and government officials should follow. John Locke
stated that the rule of law provided protection from every other member of society, as indeed they
are from him. The rule of law allows for the right to life, liberty, and property so long as harm is
not taken to other citizens. In addition, the rule of law protects individuals from the state and
ensures that government is

The concern with the current slow growth of the Fed Funds Rate is that there is a similar pattern
as there was prior to the decline in 2008, where inflation tanked and the Fed Funds Rate, which
was high at 4.24% was not enough to halt the inflation drop. The similar pattern in inflation and the
Fed Funds Rate can be seen in the two graphs below. If the Federal Open Market Committee does
not increase the rate of the growing Fed Funds Rate within the next few quarters the likeliness of
another recession increases. Although it would not be as extensively damaging as the recession in
2008, a recession would be nonetheless detrimental to the economy, as we would be set back in all
the economical progress that has been made in the past 10 years, as shown in the graphs above.
Currently, the Federal Reserve has set the rate to rest at a target range of 1 to 1 1/4 percent. The
Federal Open Market Committee acknowledged in their November meeting that inflation has more
headway to make until it is at the two percent mark they have set as a long term target. This
situation contains both positive and negative elements. A low inflation rate benefits consumer
confidence, because consumers are easily able to manage the gradual inflation and do not see
change reflected in day to day consumption since inflation rises slowly. However, with a low
Federal Funds Rate, and the potential for inflation to decline for any

Using alphabet charts are ideal
Little kids love exploring the world they live in and just by doing this; they learn a lot in the
process. These little tikes are like sponges. They engross understanding by seeing their parents or
elders, frolicking and by putting their five senses to use.
Considering the fact that these kids need live experiences to learn, they should be given the same
experiences when teaching them with alphabets or letters. In such cases a printable alphabet chart is
ideal.
If you need a rich and properly printed ABC chart, then there are plenty of free templates
available online. These come in both black and white as well as colored formats and are easily

What is an alphabet chart?
An alphabet chart contains all 26 letters with corresponding pictures, and they are designed to

Journal Reflection 1
Madison Dever
How are Brahman and God similar in Western Religions? How are they different? Why? Brahman
and God have many similarities and differences. Brahman is the ultimate, infinite Godhead of
Hinduism while God is the head of many different Western Religions such as Christianity. Both are
infinite and limitless. They are also very different, Brahman is a human being divine self , which
remains formless, while Christianity s God is the creator of human beings who are devotees who
follow God. This infinite center of every life, this hidden self or Atman, is no less than Brahman,
the Godhead. Body, personality, and Atman Brahman a human self is not completely accounted for

Flowers for Algernon can have an impact on anyone s life but mostly teens. For kids and teens all

change themselves to fit in. Girls think they need to wear makeup to look pretty. Guys think
they need to be masculine. Everyone around the world is pressured by society to be someone
they re not. Lots of people say that society has killed the teenager . To me that quote means that
society gives us these certain images that we are supposed to strive for. For example, skinny,
tall, perfect teeth, no acne, etc. As teens we are at the age of wanting to fit in and be better but
society is ruining how we view ourselves and the ways we think. Also another thing is to just be
yourself. If you be yourself, the right people will come to you. For example, let s say someone
starts to wear makeup because her friends are wearing it, or someone said that she was ugly
without it. She ll start to become a person she doesn t want to be. She ll start to become
influenced by her friends and the people around her. Then she ll stop wearing it one day and

natural beauty, or her friends won t even care. See what she did? She stopped pretending to be a

yourself and don t change who you are. The right people will come to you if you are brave and

42. Wuthering Heights Ambiguity
A variety of narrative devices can be utilized by an author to enhance a story. One such device that
uses ambiguity to create powerful effects is the supernatural, which is [divided] into three
categories [...one of them being the uncanny,] in which [a] rational explanation of the supernatural
phenomena is possible (Lodge 212). In order to make a rational explanation of a supernatural event
more believable, typically a classic rhetoric of the uncanny will use first person narration and
discourse in a documentary form to make the story seem predictable, and therefore more believable
(Lodge 214). Emily BrontГ« s Wuthering Heights uses the uncanny to create a double interpretation
of the ghost scene in chapter three where the reader can accept either a rational or supernatural
explanation to the events that occurred. Firstly, a supernatural explanation of the events can be
supported due to the narration of the story and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, when Lockwood does encounter Catherine s ghost, the reader is inclined to believe
in his account of the events more so than if he were seeking a life of excitement and adventure.
Also, the Christian beliefs of the characters during this time period led them to believe that the
spirit did leave the body at death to go to heaven or hell, or to remain stuck on earth. This is
shown by several characters, including Zillah who wanted to get another proof that [Wuthering
Heights] was haunted and Heathcliff who [burst...] into an uncontrollable passion of tears and
called for Catherine s spirit to come back to him (BrontГ« 27 29). The characters belief in the
existence of ghosts helps to validate Lockwood s encounter with one. Also, the fact that the spirit
presents itself as Catherine Linton is significant as well, for Lockwood had read Earnshaw

43. Hernan Cortes Conquer The Aztecs
Hernan Cortes was very brave, he fought the Aztecs with 300 men, when they had an army of
thousands. The men looked up to him for leadership and bravery
He had good planning skills, he planned his attack before he even started attacking the Aztecs,
teamed up with the Aztecs enemies, learnt their language and figured out how he was going to take
out the Aztecs with 300 men.
Communication: Hernan Cortes made sure his men knew what the plan was and what was going
on. He learnt the Aztec language (as mentioned before) and communicated with the allies he made
to defeat the Aztecs.
Goal oriented: He never gave up, even though his chances of winning were very little, he made sure
his men still went through with the plan. When he found out his men were going to leave, he woke
up in the middle of the night and burnt all of the ships. This made sure they would finish what they
started. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

45. Computer Technology And Marketing Approach
INTRODUCTION The introduction of the Internet has become one of important things in our daily
lives so much that most people believe that government and private institution interference to
accessing the Internet is an infringement to their constitutional right. As a consumer I do all my
purchasing online, as most business do transactions online but I was surprised when I came across
an article from Forbes.com entitled How Small Business Owners Are Wrecking Their Own
Chances of Success , this article was basically questioning why some business owners are still not
adopting to modern technology and marketing approach. Based on the statistics from the article,
about 52% of small business in the US do not have a website, I am wondering how these business
can grow in the future without access to the Internet. In my discourse, our aim is to make sure that
every information either for research, academia, commercial, human right, and history from around
the globe is accessible to each and every one who is connected to the global Internet.
Background
Computer technology underwent a dramatic transformation between the 1960s to the 1980s. In
the 1960s, computers were very expensive and scarce which makes it unthinkable for an average
Joe on the street to even consider owning one. Those were the times that computer networks had to
be carried by individuals on some physical storage medium, such as a reel of magnetic tapes or a
stack of punch cards, from one computer to the other.

46. Amylase Temperature Lab Report
The Effect of different Temperatures on the reaction rate of Amylase Introduction: Amylases are
enzymes that breaks down starch which accelerates the hydrolysis of glycosidic bonds in
polysaccharides (S. Sivaramakrishnan et al., 2006). They bond with certain substrates to
effectively increase the reaction rate of a chemical experiment. Most enzymes are very specific,
as in they would only bond with a distinct substrate for it to cause a certain reaction. This can be
described with the key and lock analogy. Only one type of key, certain amylase, will be able to
open a particular lock, substrate. Without amylase, a lot of the organs necessary for people will no
longer be able to react as fast, like the digestion of food or respiration. It speeds... Show more

47. A Brief Note On Moroccan Family Law Reform
Emily Schwartz
Introduction to International Studies
Research Paper
5 November 2014
Moroccan Family Law Reform
In modern Muslim societies, family law tends to serve as a powerful tool, and its regulation as a
political and social construction raises various questions about the political life and role for women.
Since 1958, the debate about women and there family status has taken a critical role in how the
family life in Muslim societies play out. Gender equality is a feature of the national constitution, yet
the law tends to continually restrict women s rights and their freedoms. It dictates the submissive
role women hold relative to male counterparts and also how the law limits what women may inherit
or own. Even when the law continues to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This improved the status of women in the private and public sphere of society. When women s
rights activists were advocating changes in family law, they used an Islamic framework to base their
mission.
Some reforms to the Mudawana was the participation of women in the family setting. Some of
the reforms that were achieved include the right of autonomous decision making in issues about
legal affairs without guardianship of a male. It also included equal responsibility for children and
ownership over the household and finances. These reforms provide a usable agglomeration of
women s rights and their voices within the Moroccan family setting (Kelly Breslin 2010). The
assembly and organizational success of the family law campaign in Morocco has been viewed as a
positive model for activists of women s rights in the Middle East and have been adopted in different
cultures.
Under Mudawana law of 1950, women were considered minors under the guardianship of their
male guardian (Harrak 2009). Women could not be married without the signature and consent of
her male guardian, or wali. A woman could be legally married at the age of 15 while her male
counterpart could be married at the age of 18 (Sadiqi 2003). A woman could not be employed and
could not obtain a passport without the permission of her male guardian. Women could also lose
custody of their children when they got

48. Nursing Career As A Licensed Practical Nurse
Nursing Autobiography I began my nursing career as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) when I
graduated from high school. I entered the nursing field at a time that local hospitals were no
longer employing LPN s at the bedside. Therefore, I worked in a nursing home for two years.
This was where I learned how to perfect time management, wound care, and medication
knowledge. In the nursing home, I developed a fondness for the elderly. I worked with men and
woman that entered the nursing home completely oriented, ambulatory, and able to perform
most of their activities of daily living. Then, in a fairly short amount of time I watched them
deteriorate until I held their hand while they passed away. After two years, I was finally allowed
to go to the bedside on a medical surgical unit. As I worked on this unit, I took care of patients
with various surgical issues; learning how low blood pressures and low hemoglobin and
hematocrits correlate; as well as, high temperatures and high white blood cell counts precede the
other. I slowly took classes at the local community college until I received my associate s degree.
Once I received my associate s degree, I changed pace and began working on an intermediate
cardiac unit. This unit allowed me to eventually become a charge nurse, design teaching programs
for new graduates and become intrigued with the heart. I eventually began working in a medical
ICU and then a trauma burn ICU. This is where I developed the appreciation of the lungs
