Psy 270 Original Research Question
Original Research Question: Is there an increase in exceptionalities because we have more
research to identify disorders easily and quickly, or are we over diagnosing and generalizing mental
disorders?
Revised Research Question: What factors have caused a fluctuation in the number of diagnosis of
autism, ADHD, and sensory processing disorder amongst children in the past 20 years?
Reflection: When the research essay was assigned to the class, I was ecstatic because I knew
what subject I wanted to write about. The trouble I faced when developing the exact question
was narrowing down the topic, as well as making it approachable. I have a strong personal
connection to my research topic, and I truly believe that the information I gather while writing this
paper will significantly change the way I interact with others. Mental illness runs in my family, as
my older sister has bipolar disorder, my mom has Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), my oldest
brother has depression and GAD, my other brother has ADD, my great grandfather was
schizophrenic, and my grandfather and two uncles have anxiety disorders. I myself live with
anxiety and depression. In my ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Throughout this time, I have seen almost every type of child. In the last few years, however, I
have noticed a difference in the grouping of kids at the daycare. These two and three years olds
are constantly being tested by specialists for disabilities, whether it be speech, behavioral, or
learning. I also hear first hand from elementary school teachers that there are more disruptive
children in the classroom than ever before. Sensory processing disorder is more prevalent now
than in the past few years, and more children under the age of five are being tested for the
disorder. I have wanted to study this topic for a while now, and this assignment is a perfect

Greece And China Similarities
Greece and China have many differences between them, with the first and foremost being that they
both are set in different continents with Greece being in Europe and China being in Asia. Another
difference between them is the currency they use. While Greece uses the Euro. China, on the other
hand, uses the Renminbi. Still yet, another differencebetween them is that while Chinas economy is
becoming stronger and richer it seems daily, Greece s economy seems to be becoming weaker and
poorer with each passing day. Although Greece and China do have many differences they also have
many similarities with one being that they both have a strong sense of family values in that they
both believe in taking care of their family members, protecting them, and supporting them for as

They are also alike in that they both have oceanic coastlines and they both rely on the exports of
goods to support their economy s. Another interesting fact that is similar between both Greece and
China is that they both have large mountains in their regions with Greece s being Mount Olympus
with also being the largest mountain in Europe and China s largest mountain being Mount Everest
which also happens to be the biggest mountain in the world. Even though Greece and China have
many things alike and many things different, I think that the greatest things about both of them that
people already do like or will like is that they are both two very beautiful countries filled with lots
of ancient beliefs and customs, mixed together with many new, modern day technologies that cause
them to be places filled with many exciting and wonderful things that have and will fill a person s
heart, and mind with a sense of awe and fascination causing them to want to visit them time and

Bob Marley “ the Political Movement Behind the Music” Essay
Bob Marley The Political Movement Behind The Music
There s a long list of musicians that have utilized their musical genius to impose a change upon the
masses of society. Many to this day are only recognizable through their music but not by the
changes that they contributed to society. Some musicians stand out when compared to others
because of their political views ,but when spirituality is used to infuse the souls of many who share
a common life experience through the means of music this is an iconic event. The focal point of
this paper is to illustrate the social change and impact that Bob Marley had upon a vast majority of
the world s population. His influence upon the many who experienced the different aspects of ...

His early life struggles were actually the fuel for his non dying will to succeed and become the
voice for the voiceless living in the ghettos and slums of the world.
in the late 1950s, Marley lived in Trench Town, one of the Jamaica s poorest neighborhoods. This
is the place where he first encountered severe poverty and heard the numerous successful local
performers which were a catalyst for his musical inspiration. Trench Town was considered the
Motown of Jamaica and it incorporated Sounds from the United States that drifted in over the
radio into the local pubs jukeboxes. Bob Marley was also inspired by American artists such as Ray
Charles, Elvis Presley, Fats Domino, and the Drifters. These artist played a significant role in his
early musical development and his unique stage presence. Bob Marley spoke the truth about many
taboo issues that frightened many socialist and performed his heart out whenever he touched the
stage.
Bob Marley devoted much of his time to music, under the guidance of his mentor Joe Higgs,
through whom he met a local record producer named Leslie Kong. He liked Bob s vocals so much
that he had him to record a few singles, one of them being Judge Not which was released in 1962
but did not fare well. While he did not fare well as a solo artist, Bob found some success joining
forces with his friends. In 1963,

Norse Mythology Vs Greek Mythology
Everyone loves stories, we love to go into another s perspective and see their world and what
they believe in, and stories from Greek and Mesopotamian are ones to hear. They believed in the
gods that lived in heaven and they used them to explain some of the unexplainable things in life,
using stories and background to explain why things happen.in all these stories there is something
different between the Norse Myths and the Greek Myths. If you step back and look at the whole,
you can see the difference between the character s personalities and their morality. After reading
many of stories from each collection I see that Norse Mythology has higher morals than Greek
Mythology because Norse Mythology recognizes an individual s choices and the advantages of
choosing right over wrong, they can also recognize the importance... Show more content on

Television And The Spanish Radio Station
In its beginnings, no major or even minor radio station saw a future in Hispanic radio. Companies
saw the Hispanic radio as a loss rather than an unopened door to a loyal public in not only the states,
but all the way to many Mexican border cities. Yet, once brokers began the Spanish language
programming, companies noticed how profitable these programs could potentially be. Stations and
advertisers began to understand the benefit of reaching an underserved audience in their native
language, publishing station profiles and trade figures for Spanish language stations. It was only in
the late 1970s that marketers and advertisers demonstrated any real interest in this group of
consumers (O Guinn, 1980). In 1980 the Federal Communications Commission found sixty seven
Spanish oriented radio stations on the air. By the year 2000 the figure had increased dramatically to
nearly six hundred, signifying a near 500 percent increase.21 The latest 2009 figures list over one
thousand radio stations that broadcast exclusively in Spanish (Casillas, 2014). Spanish radio is
known for catering to their immigrant based listeners, which we discussed, has created an immense
amount of loyal listeners. Economic growth has been a byproduct of the stations need for
connecting with their listeners and their constant search for sufficing their needs. Economically,
this has maintained their numbers high, both in listeners and dollars. Both commercial and

It represents the foundation of people gathering for African harvest festivals by placing nuts,
fruit, and vegetables, representing work, on the mkeka for unity and thanksgiving. The Mkeka,
which is a place mat made from straw or cloth, symbolizes the traditional foundation to stand on
and build a better life. People tend to reflect on history and what role to play as a legacy to the
future. Also, the other six symbols are placed directly on the mkeka during the celebration. The
Vibunzi, which means the ear of corn represents and symbolizes the reproduction of children and
the future hopes of a family. Each ear symbolizes a child in the family. Children are essential to
Kwanzaa because they are the future to the next generation. The Mishumaa Saba represents the
seven candles that recreate the sun s power and to provide light. The candles are distributed by
one black, three red, and three green. The black candle symbolizes Umoja and the three green
candles symbolizes the Nia, Ujima, and Imani and are placed to the right of the Umoja candle,
while the three red candles, symbolizes Kujichagulia, Ujamaa, and Kuumba, and are placed to the
left of it. One candle lit represents the principle that is being celebrated. The colors of the candles
also have their own significant meaning. Red represents the struggle for freedom for colored
people. Black represents hope, creativity, and faith and denoting messages and the opening and
closing of doors. Green represents the earth that provides hope, divination, employment, and the
fruits of the harvest. The kinara, or the candleholder represents our ancestry. It symbolizes the
ancestors of our people and understand the problems of human life. The kikombe cha umoja, or
also the unity cup is a special cup that is used to perform the rituals during the Karamu feast of

Student Mentorship Program For The Community College Essay
Student Mentoring in the Community College
Student Population Served
Student Success is now considered a vital element in the community college role. We must teach
our students, and equipped them with skills to achieve their educational goal, as well as their
career goals thereby, surviving in the workplace. Therefore, I am proposing a student mentorship
program that targets all students enrolling at Mohave Community College (MCC). The program will
encourage participation from the concurrent enrolled high school students, as well as students that
are classified within the at risk category. Each student at registration will receive information
regarding the program, and encourage to participate when attending orientation.
Identified Need
The implementation and formulation of the program are highly informed by the fact that certain
groups of students desperately need interventions to enhance their academic performance and
increase their retention rates (Stromel, 2000). The program has identified six types of students who
require mentor consisting of the nontraditional adults; students in remedial studies; students
exhibiting low classroom participation; learners with low campus or community involvement;
anyone who lacks positive role models, and students complaining about time. Therefore, with the
tremendous increase of nontraditional and remedial students at MCC which, exhibit low
motivation skills, time management abilities, and failure to socialize (Campbell, Smith,

WINDOWS 8
Introduction: Windows 8 is an operating system produced by Microsoft for use on personal
computers, including home and business desktops, laptops, tablets, and home theater PCs.
Development of this operating system started before the release of its predecessor in 2009. Its
existence was first announced in January 2011 at Consumer Electronics Show. During its
development and test phases, Microsoft released three pre release versions: Developer Preview
(September 13, 2011), Consumer Preview (February 29, 2012), and Release Preview (May 31,
2012). On August 1, 2012, Windows 8 graduated from the development stage and was released to

Relatively few changes were made from the Release Preview to the final version: New backgrounds
for desktop, lock screen and start screen, as well as a tutorial are added. Windows Explorer is now
called File Explorer. Finally, the start screen and included apps are slightly tweaked.
Desktop Shell: Windows 8 employs a new user interface based on Microsoft s Metro design
language. The environment features a new tile based Start screen similar to that of the Windows
Phone operating system, which has replaced the previous Start menu entirely. The Start screen
displays a customizable array of tiles linking to various apps and desktop programs, some of
which can display constantly updated information and content through live tiles . As a form of
multi tasking, apps can also be snapped to the side of a screen. A vertical toolbar known as the
charms bar (accessed by swiping from the right edge of a touchscreen, or pointing the cursor at
hotspots in the right corners of a screen) provide access to system and app related functions, such as
search, sharing, device management, settings, and a Start button. The traditional desktop
environment for running desktop applications is accessed via a tile on the new Start screen. The
Start button from previous versions of Windows has been removed from the taskbar in favor of a
hotspot in the bottom left corner (but can still also be activated via a button on

Persuasive Essay On Wild Boars
Wild boars were originally brought over by the Spanish in 1539 as food aboard their ships and in
the new lands, but now they re taking over much of the US. There are an estimated five to six
million wild boars in the United States with an estimated one million in Florida alone. Spreading
rapidly with no intention of slowing down, these wild boars are causing devastation to the native
environment throughout the United Stateswith their destructive habits. The US government has
precautions put into place to try and control aspects of the boar population, but they re negating it
with regulations that are benefiting the boars rather than the general population and native species.
There are measures that need to be put into place in order to control the wild boarpopulation and the
destruction that comes with them.
The native Flora and Fauna of the United States is being threatened by numerous invasive
species, one of which is considered to be the most destructive. The wild boar is known to dwell
in 35 states and is costing the US an estimated $1.5 billion each year in damages. Eating almost
everything it sets its eyes on, boars dig up anything it desires to eat in a process called rooting.
When a wild boar does a rooting behavior to dig up food it destabilizes the soil surface which
leads to surface erosion. The surface erosion removes the top layer of soil that is responsible for
having the richest organic matter leading to the soil losing nutrients needed to support plant life.
Wild board also feed on a large quantity of native vegetation leaving the native plants not enough
time to fully recover before being trampled over again by the damaging heathens. Males also
tusks small trees removing the bark layer on an area of the tree in order to mark their territory and
display their dominance. This tusking behavior causing serious harm to trees and has the potential
to kill the tree. There is a phloem layer under the bark of a tree that comes up when boars do their
tusking behavior. Nutrients such as water and minerals travel up the Phloem layer of the tree from
the roots to the leaves, but if the phloem layer is removed from a portion of the tree it restricts the
nutrients distributed throughout the tree and leads

This was the first time a reggae band had ever had access to premium recording facility. They

In the spring of 1973 the Wailers returned to London to start their first three month tour of Britain.

San Sisto College: Carina, QLD). As Matthew s audience and community grew more distant from
other Jews and became more Gentile in its outlook, Matthew wrote his version of the Gospel, with
the intention of reinforcing the community s belief in Jesus and to ease conflicts within the
community, (The Collegeville Bible Commentary, Matthew (pg. 868), Robert J. Karris, 1983).
The Gospel of Matthew takes us through the birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus. As we
read his Gospel, we are told of Jesus linage, his childhood, his teachings and his messages of
hope and the Kingdom of God. I would like to direct your attention back to today s passage,
where we hear that Jesus took his disciples up to the mountain, where they sat and listened to his
words and teachings about the New Law. During Jesus time, the Pharisees dictated how the Jews
should follow and practice their religion and how they should follow and obey the law. The
Pharisees taught that to fulfil the law, one needs to only perform small acts of compassion.
Although Jesus was not in conflict with the Pharisees, he believed that the example they were
setting for those who looked up to them was false and so Jesus decided to teach his disciples the
New Law with the intention that they would spread his message. Jesus teaches that one must carry
out the law by doing things generously, compassionately and humbly instead of by doing small
things, (The Catholic Youth Bible, NRSV, Saint

The Theory Of Corporate Social Responsibility
Historical background of the development of CSR is almost as important as the ongoing
discussion on what CSR is and how and where it should operate. Many scholars argue that these are
not interchangeable and need to be assessed in conjunction with each other. For purposes of this
paper it is pivotal to look into the past to see what stood behind the broadening of companies
accountability beyond the standard agency theory (limited liability of shareholders for the company
s violations or breach and the company s main accountability being towards its shareholders and
investors only) to the stakeholder theory (company s accountability towards a broad range of
stakeholders, including employees, environment and local communities). The... Show more content

This at the time was widely opposed by proponents of corporate isolation as a highly irrelevant
research topic that went in no parallel or connection with the idea of a corporate veil, charter
accountability and the sole purpose of any company to bring profits to its shareholders. This
reverts us back to the development of a stakeholder theory that gradually gained its speed in the
1970s . It soon found its implementation in Freeman s management discipline , who promoted
the expansion of firms accountability towards a broader range of stakeholders. One of the
examples of how attitude towards CSR by multinational corporations has changed was raised by
Lee, when he reviewed corporate governance codes and practices of Ford . He used two
instances in the history of corporate actions of Ford with an interval of 80 years in between
them. Keeping in mind the abovementioned Clark s remarks on corporate accountability back in
1916, this becomes even more educational, as it shows a dramatic change in shareholders
perception of their business as a service to the broader society. There, in 1919 Ford was faced
with a lawsuit, as a result of which it agreed to grant Dodge brothers their request to receive
maximum dividends . The respective court decision was an indirect ridicule of Henry

Each individual has the need and desire to excel in life and reach clearly outline goals. Even if
those goals are different for each, the one similar aspect is that nobody wishes to fail at attaining
them. Do we expect to be rewarded on the hard work we put in attaining those dreams? Sure; many
of us, wish to graduate collegeand give our own children some sort of financial stability that will
also put them thru college. Basically; settling into a career, making a comfortable living, buying a

earning $41,000 a year, or about $10,000 more than the average high school graduate makes, but
since she graduated, Babbitts student loan balance has more than doubled, to $87,000, and she

Persuasive Essay On Locavorism
Locavorism is the movement of eating locally raised, grown and produced food. Local food is
defined as food that is produced in a 100 mile radius of where it was purchased. This trend has
become a worldwide phenomenon and recognized as a potential solution to modern food production
problems in the United States. Due to the numerous benefits, Locavorism is the best solution to
solving the Unites States food problems. These benefits include increased economic support,
improved environmental care, and promotion of fair food markets.
Today nearly every aspect of society is ran by money. As a result this makes it difficult to not
discuss the economic side of something. Local eating involves essentially buying food directly
from the source. Which in turn provides money almost directly to the farmer and gives them the
ability to further improve the farm. Azeveado (6 7) cites a study done by the New Economics
Foundation within London. The study showed that at a local store the profit returned to the economy
was more than double that which was spent. So an item which cost 10 pounds returned an amount
of 25 pounds to the local economy. While studying a supermarket, the same amount of money
spent only returned 14 pounds. This research shows undeniable proof that buying local helps the
local economy. The economic increase from a large amount of people doing this could greatly
improve money problems within the United States. More money would be available for public

Example Of Nonverbal Communication
COM1211N1 NONVERBAL COMMUNICATION ASSIGNMENT
Analysis of Nonverbal Communication Nonverbal communication can range from gestures, facial
expressions, and other behaviors that are attempting to send a message to another person without
using words to communicate. With several forms of nonverbal communication, there is an attached
message with the behaviors, though they can have different meanings to different people. The
message being sent along with the nonverbal behaviors can also be directly noticed and understood
by the other person in the conversation, or can be completely misunderstood or unnoticed. While
examining the characteristics and behaviors of nonverbal gestures, we can unravel the message
being relayed within communication. I had identified two couples each on a date at Panino s
restaurant, finding individual characteristics of nonverbal communication, as one couple had been in
a disagreement and one couple had a more romantic evening together. Though during the
observation of each interaction, I had noticed contradistinction between the way the two couples
communicated using non verbally, movement and gesture, and facial display messages.
Signs of Nonverbal Communication: Expressing Emotions The couple who had been in a
disagreement at the restaurant had many interactions of verbal and nonverbal conversations. The
verbal messages being sent from the lady to the gentlemen were that he had sent another lady
flirtatious messages on Facebook, which

Turbulent Flow Essay
MM4TTF: Introduction to Turbulence and Turbulent Flows
Case Study 1: Turbulent Boundary Layer Structure
Turbulent coherent structures are flow patterns that can be distinguished from each other, as
opposed to motions such as eddies which are subject to the phenomenon of superpositioning.
Several of these occur in the near wall region:
Low speed streaks refer to the regions of relatively slow flow spaced out in a pronounced
manner. They generally occur between the legs of hairpin vortices, where flow is displaced
upward from the surfaces so that it convects low momentum fluid away from the wall. [2]. Streaks
have been found to occur in the sublayer region by Kline and Runstandler (1959)[1] and have been
shown to occur at a distance of y+ ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another type of coherent structure are rolls , which are pairs of counter rotating streamwise
vortices that are the dominant vertical structures in the near wall region defined by y+ 100 [2].
They account for streak production also, as the fluid being pushed outwards between the rolls has
reduced axial velocity, creating a velocity profile which is inviscidly unstable, and also associate
with bursting and lift up.
Bursting may be described as a characteristic behaviour of the low speed streaks. It generally refers
to the whole process of a streak undergoing lift up from near the wall, beginning to oscillate, and
subsequently undergoing break up and ejection
Firstly the streaks slowly begin moving downstream and drifting outwards; this is the process
known as lift up . After the streak reaches a distance of around y+ = 8 12, it begins to rapidly
oscillate, which increases in amplitude as outflow progresses. This ends in a sudden breakup,
generally when y+ is between 10 30. After breakup, the streak lifts away from the wall by a
vigorous and chaotic motion. This process ejects low speed fluid into a region of the boundary layer
with a faster streamwise velocity. [3]. This process of bursting can be shown graphically, with a
representation of a dye streak in a turbulent boundary layer; a typical example is shown below: The
pressure gradient has been observed to have an effect on the bursting phenomenon; it has been
observed that a positive

The World Economic Crisis Of 2008
Assessment Task 2 Essay Essay
The world economic crisis of 2008 was the worst global crisis after the great recession of 1929

crisis sub sequentially lowers the growth rate of the economies. A large number of American
companies incurred heavy losses and it declines in the gross domestic product widely known as
GDP of the country. China plays a significant role during the economic crises (Lardy Subramanian,

proves that China had enough resources to deal with the extreme economic conditions. These all
factors boost the growth and development rate of China during the financial crisis. China had

Raising The Flag On Iwo Jima By Joe Rosenthal
Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima is a historic photograph by Joe Rosenthal taken on February 23,
1945. The photograph depicts six men, five United States Marines and one United States Navy
corpsman, raising the United States flag on Mount Suribachi, during the battle of Iwo Jima in
World War II. Raising the flag on Iwo Jima was the second flag raising of the day, the first being
raised early in the morning after the area was secure. Joe Rosenthal s photo was printed
thousands of times, won the Pulitzer Prize for Photography, and has been made into stamps and
statutes. Rosenthal uses color, lines, and structure to convey the message that the United States
won the war. Rosenthal utilizes the black and white color of the photo to help convey his
message of sadness. During World War II, over 6,000 marines were killed in battle, so the dark
grey and black help project the message that it was a time of and sadness. The picture is statuesque
in that it looks like someone built a statue on the top of Mount Suribachi and the black and white
color adds to that affect. The black and white color heavily emphasizes the shadows in the picture

The American flag is the most obvious line captured in the photograph. The marines are raising
the flag showing victory and defeat over the Japanese. The raising of the National flag is
recognized as a victory; just as lowering the flag is recognized as a time of mourning and sadness.
The landscape forms horizontal lines in the background, adding to a grimmer and more mourning
look. Although the picture was taken after a hard fought battle, the picture still looks sad and
supports that the battle was a hard fight and thousands of people

To Kill A Mockingbird Reflection
Throughout their lives, individuals learn many valuable lessons that help them to grow and mature
as human beings. This also means being cooperative with people. The prominent novel, To Kill a
Mockingbird , by Harper Lee portrays a story written from a girl named Scout. Scout is in her
childhood and faces many hardships, including the trial of Tom Robinson and her dad being the
defendant. One prominent theme that Lee includes is how individuals must see different
perspectives putting an end to bigotry and the tension between others.
Atticus Finch is a great example of an individual who instructs his children, Jem and Scout,
precious life lessons about accepting all people. In chapter eleven Atticus tries to explain to
Jem, why different people have a different view on things by saying, She had her own views
about things, a lot different from mine, maybe... son, I told you that if you hadn t lost your head
I d have made you go read to her... she was the bravest person I knew (Lee 128). This conveys
that Atticus wanted Jem to understand and accept her rather than just judging her. Sometimes
getting to know people isn t so bad because you never really understand them until you enlighten
a person. Not only does Atticus takes his time to understand Mrs. Dubose, but he also takes his
time out to defend Tom Robinson. Scout is troubled from the rumors of her dad being the
defendant of Tom Robinson. Lee explains why Atticus defends Tom Robinson despite of the
ridicule when she writes ... the main one is, is I didn t I couldn t hold up my head in town, I
couldn t represent this country in the legislature, I couldn t even tell you or Jem not to do
something again (Lee 86). Atticus accepted the case because he suggests that his morals for
children and others are far greater than his reputation. Although the people in Maycomb is racist,
Atticus is there for Tom Robinson and being a role model for his children to accept people for who
they are.
Atticus attempts to teach his kids about seeing things in other people s point of view to eliminate
prejudice because he knows that the town is full of bigotry and racism. Atticus teaches Scout a life
lesson, which he applies to real life situations, in the hopes of shaping her

Analysis Of Trisha Brown
If not for Trisha Brown the current modern genre would be very different from how it is today.
Trisha Brown was essentially a revolutionary modern choreographer. Trisha Brown s movements
were finding the extraordinary in everyday life. They began challenging the existing perceptions of
what is considered performance. Trisha Brown s style as well as the concepts that it produced were
severely influential to modern dancethen, as well as now.
Trisha Brown graduated from Mills College, which is in California, she then began to teach at
Reed College which is in Portland, Oregon. Then in 1961 she moved to New York and in 1970
Trisha Brown began revolutionizing the dance world, specifically the modern genre. In 1968
Trisha Brown created a piece called Falling Duets. Unfortunately I was unable to find any videos
of the work. However there was a description of the work on Trisha Brown s website and there
were any recreations of her work. The piece is one big excellent example of weight sharing and
it is quite the physical representation of trust between two people. The other work that I
planned to study was called The Stream. Now I was also unable to find a video as this piece
involved members of the public, although, I was able to find an in depth description of the piece.
There was a large U shaped wooden structure filled with pots and pans that were full of water and
the people passing were encouraged to walk through it. Some chose to walk straight through the
water, others chose to avoid the water. It sounds like something that would have been amazing to
watch as it took place in 1970.
I studied four more works by Trisha Brown: Watermotor, I m Going to Toss My Arms if You
Catch Them They re Yours, Set and Reset, and If You Couldn t See Me. The first of these Trisha
Brown works that I studied as Watermotor. This was a very fluid, water like piece. All of the
movements fit and flowed together nothing was choppy. It almost seemed like maybe she
repeated the same movements but they were just different enough that they were not exactly the
same. This piece was created in 1978 which was just a few years after Trisha Brown created her
piece known as The Stream. It seems to me as though Tisha Brown was very into

Argument On Miracles Are Impossible
There is another argument against miracles, which has less to do with empirics and more to do
with philosophy, namely the claim that miracles are impossible. No matter what I have
accounted for above and no matter what we experience in life, there is no need to believe in
miracles since they cannot happen, according to this view. It became popular during the so called
enlightenment in the 18th century minority world, and its main proponents were pantheists like
Voltaire and deists like Thomas Jefferson, who used theological arguments for their naturalism.
From the pantheistic perspective, nature is god and so god cannot break natural laws because
then he would break his own backbone. From a deistic perspective, god simply stopped
intervening in his creation after he created it, and so miracles are impossible because god never
wants to perform them (Jefferson even took a Bible and cut out all Jesus miracles with a pair of
scissors to prove his point).
Neither pantheism nor deism provide any substantial argument for these claims, but in the 19th
century an atheist philosopher called David Hume, developed an argument against the probability of
miracles that became popular. Hume did not argue that miracles are impossible, since that s as
unprovable as claiming that God doesn t exist, but he thought that they are highly improbable to the
extent that one should never believe a miracle report.
Hume wrote that since common human experience is that dead men remain dead, for

School Uniform Controversy
There has always been a big controversy on whether schools should require students to wear
uniforms issued by the school. Some believe that students should have the freedom to wear
whatever they would like to express themselves. Others believe that students should wear uniforms
to reduce bullying and provide a look of success. Schools should be required to have students wear
uniforms.
One reason that schools should require students to wear school uniforms is because it would make
schools safer. The schools superintendent, Paula E. Howard, said the district turned to uniforms in
response to an after school fight last year that involved weapons concealed in loose clothing
(Article 2 18). Having clothing that you can pick can create an opportunity

where I m a member of the graduating class of 2016. I hope to attend a prestigious university,
preferably a military Service Academy, Johns Hopkins University, or Washington and Lee

Understanding Vigilante Justice
The use of vigilante justice is illegal but, at times it can be understood. Vigilante justice is
considered legal when dealing with it as self defense.. The term vigilante justice means someone
has gone outside the law to carry out a punishment for a crime. In other words vigilante justice
means that a citizen has taken justice into their own hands. One of the defining elements of
vigilantism is a response that involves violence that exceeds the legitimate use of force in self
defense. These people who take justice into their own hands are called a vigilante.
Our legal system does not permit vigilante justice (Grisham 137). Self defense, though, is the
only type of vigilante justice that is legal because it is one of the rights written in the constitution.
It is considered legal because self defense is one of the rights given to American citizens in the
Constitution. Our legal system also cannot condone men who take the law into their own hands .
This means that the government cannot over look a case of vigilante justice because it will cause
problems in our society. The legal system also cannot over look it because the society cannot have
people just running around with guns shooting other people who did them wrong. The world
would be chaos if that was allowed to happen because everyone would be taking justice into their
own hands because they are unhappy with the outcome of the case.
Most of the time the act of vigilante justice is taken because the legal system isn t

Leadership Styles Of Captain William Bligh
Compare and Contrast the Leadership Styles of Captain William Bligh verses Lieutenant Fletcher

The topic of leadership evokes curiosity about our leaders and their approaches in decision
making, leadership styles and the effectiveness of their leadership. At time leaders are critiqued for
their actions or views on different business affairs. In today s working environment leaders set the
tone, vision, and goals of any organization. Leadership has a huge impact on the culture of an
organization and how people communicate within the organization (Northouse, 2009). The actions
of leaders should inspire and positively impact their followers. The approach of leaders in handling
adversities highlights many features of their character.
The renowned 1962 motion picture, Mutiny on the Bounty sheds light on the leadership styles of
Captain William Bligh (Captain Bligh) and Lt. Fletcher Christian (Christian) who were the two

Motif And Motifs In Macbeth
Sight of Darkness: Analyzing Murder Motifs in Macbeth
Throughout Shakespeare s Macbeth, the motif sight represents a terrible event or murder;
coinciding with the event, while also highlighting Macbeth s lack of accountability for the crimes.
Through the use of the motif sight, it is conveyed that Macbeth decides he must turn a blind eye to
the murder of Duncan. While trying to secure the throne he is prophesied to have, Macbeth
frequently questions whether he should interfere with fate s process. After speaking with Duncan,
Macbeth steps aside and states, The eye wink at the hand, yet let that be /which the eye fears, when
it is done, to see (1.4.59 60). Macbeth s thoughts to kill Duncan are so evil when he does it that
Macbeth doesn t want to look. In addition, the eye is a directly related to the brain, therefore, by
winking, Macbeth tries to avoid acknowledging the evil he may commit. To conclude, Macbeth
cannot stomach the thought of killing Duncan so he must turn a blind eye to it; he will try to
literally not see it, and not acknowledge it cognitively. Another example of Macbeth turning a
blind eye is after the killing of Duncan. Macbeth discusses with Lady Macbeth the remorse and
guilt he feels. He states, I am afraid to think what I have done. / Look at again I dare not (2.2.66
67). Even after killing Duncan in attempt to claim the throne, Macbeth refuses to look at Duncan
and his dead body. This again highlights Macbeth s refusal to condone his deeds as he cannot
bare to look at what he has done. The final sight motif used by Macbeth precedes the murder of
Banquo. Even after Duncan is dead, Macbeth and Lady Macbeth cannot stand idle and wait for
the crown to be delivered to them; they decree to remove any threats posed to their succession.
For this reason, they hire three murderers to kill Banquo. While talking to Lady Macbeth about
their plans, Macbeth responds, Come, seeling night, / scarf up the tender eye of pitiful day / and
with thy bloody and invisible hand (3.2.52 54). Similarly to the first passage, Macbeth is saying
the actions of killing Banquo are so violent that it cannot be visible by the light of day. Related to
both passages, Macbeth does not want anyone to

Thesis Statement On Gun Control
Over the course of the fall semester, I intend to develop a strong, yet demanding, argument that
supports my ideas and efforts to make a long lasting affect on the residents living in Saint Louis.
My advocacy project consists of informing the Saint Louis Mayor, Lyda Krewson, on issues
pertaining to gun control in the St.Louis metro area and eventually persuade her to look into
designing more efficient background checking systems for individuals wanting to bear arms.
I have been living in the Saint Louis area for seventeen years, and I have witnessed the
consequences caused by the loose regulation of guns. Many guns, including military grade
weapons, have been circulating into the wrong hands of individuals in the region. Because of this,
the crime rate in the Saint Louis area has been on the rise as well. As a St.Louis resident, I am
often informed of the harsh results related to gun violence; News stations throughout the region
report the jarring records of deaths and other injuries related to firearms. As months progress, I
started to realize that my city was making a turn for the worst. Gun control, being a relevant social
issue in St.Louis, was affecting not just the victims, but the families, friends, and the overall
communities. I started to ponder why my hometown was having such a massive issue over guns.
Although I have not been personally affected by gun violence, I do not want to become a bystander
to these casualties.Rather, I desire to improve this issue

(2) (a) We disagree with Catmull s conclusion in the above quote. We believe it is an
overgeneralization and exemplifies the Fundamental Attribution Error.
While team dynamics and cohesion play a great role in the success of any team, we believe that
external factors (situation, system) can profoundly affect behavior and performance. The
importance of creating an environment that supports great people and encourages them to support

Even a great team can t be guaranteed to fix a mediocre idea or come up with good ones every

the production of Toy Story 2, he noticed that the new team was not performing well, failing to

the challenge. Even though the individuals in the team were stars, the team was not working

Is European Union Undermining the Sovereignty of Its...
8. Is European Union undermining the sovereignty of its individual member states?
In order to give an answer to the question above, it is worth mentioning that the two key points that
this essay will analyse [the EU and the notion of sovereignty] are both really hard to define from
just one point of view, therefore different theories will be taken into account to give a complete and
fulfilling outlook of the effect that the creation of the European Union had given to the concept of
modern sovereignty among its member states. The essay will start with an introduction of the
creation, shaping and then integration of the European Union, it will then move on trying to define
what the EU and sovereignty really are, underlining the changes ... Show more content on

Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg and the Netherlands were the six founding
member states, the very first ones that progressively pooled their sovereignty to the European
Coal and Steel Community in 1951, signing the Treaty of Paris under Robert Schuman s orders
(Mccormick 2008:10). The basic idea was that whoever did not have control over coal and steel
production would not be able to fight a war (EUROPA 2012a). So the spirit of the community
embodied the principle that any war between France and Germany would become not merely
unthinkable, but materially impossible (Pinder 2001:1) because the control over coal and steel
would be taken by a supranational organization. The other reasons were merely economic and the
creation of a single market was the first step to start a complementary process of political
unification, which, since it involved the very intrinsic factor that defines a state sovereignty , was
not that immediate and simple in the case of the EU. In 1957 the Treaty of Rome produced the
EEC [establishing the common market , breaking down the barriers between the EU s national
economies and establishing the 4 freedoms: free movement of goods, free movement of persons,
freedom to provide services and free movement of capital] and EURATOM [concerning nuclear
development] (Bainbridge 1998:287;518). In 1965 the Merger Treaty unified the three institutions
forming the

The IFMIS provides a critical financial management solution for countries whose administrative and
economic infrastructure is obsolete, or has been destroyed through war and years of conflict. There
is broad agreement that a fully functioning IFMIS can improve governance by providing real time
financial information that financial and other managers can use to administer programs effectively,
formulate budgets, and manage resources. Sound IFMIS systems, coupled with the adoption of
centralized treasury operations, can not only help developing country governments gain effective
control over their finances, but also enhance transparency and accountability, reducing political
discretion and acting as a deterrent to corruption and fraud. Obstacles should not be
underestimated. The road to implementing successful IFMIS in developing countries is paved
with difficulties, such as resistance from the bureaucracies involved; lack of decision making
from the top; weak human capital; corruption and fraud; and, in the case of conflict ridden
countries, the instability and violence that impair any efficient long term work. Moreover, IFMIS
systems are complicated, expensive, and difficult to manage and maintain. Indeed, a 2003 review
of 34 IFMIS projects supported by the World Bank over 15 years estimated that only few of the
systems were likely to be sustained after donor support ceased. Obstacles notwithstanding, the

Regan s Relationship With Her Mother In The Exorcist
In the film industry, women act as the devil s portal because they are deemed weaker compared
to the men in The Exorcist, it is Regan. According to a psychological interpretation of the film by
Blatty and Friedkin, Regan s parents are divorced, she is jealous of Burke, she s often rejected by
her dad (clover, 1992:71) and that the relationship with her mother was fine and great before that.
With that being said, Regan s relationship with her mother is why she was possessed. After the
possession, her attitude towards Chris changed as the act of rebel can represent the fact that she
wants to remain close to her mother. The deep bond between mother and daughter is reinforced in
the text at a number of

Drafting Technology Research Paper
What is Drafting Technology exactly? The career field is such a broad description of so many
different sub fields in this area that could possibly be focused on. Drafting is an unofficial design
of an object or an idea, this can fluctuate as the project is coming along. After drafting you have
technology which can be a set of tools or a model of how something would generally function. With
that being said Drafting Technologyis exactly what is sounds like, the worker comes up with a
design or drawing of an object and then would show how that object would generally function on
an average day to day basis, so while everyone thinks that this is a career field that is meant for
very intelligent human beings it is really for anyone that has creative... Show more content on

This is a very important skill to have because when designing a blueprint for something the
employee could run into many difficulties that may not be the easiest thing to fix and that
employee would need to come up with a solution while also staying in the specific guidelines for
the project. So like I previously stated Drafting technology is a very broad description of a career
field that has many sub categories within it like: architectural, civil, electrical, and mechanical
drafting. Civil engineering is exactly what it sounds like this sub field focuses on the thing that
deal with the civil life for example they are the engineers that build bridges and buildings. Just
like civil engineers is self explanatory so is Electrical Engineering the engineers of the field
focus on everything that deals with electronics, this can range in difficulty from designing the
motherboard of a computer to designing a cell phone. The final sub field is Mechanical
Engineer, this group designs a variety of objects that can be as simple as a single part like a bolt
to the most confusing and complex assemblies like a refrigerator. Even though all of these sub
fields have different job focuses they all have the same amount of income with a range from
$121,000 to $126,000. The lowest paying sub field is the Mechanical Engineers with a Civil
Engineer being on the higher end of the

I.C.T In Our Society
This report is about how ICT has affected us as a society. For example, for entertainment purposes
like games consoles, communication purposes such as mobile phones, storage purposes such as
storing music on a CD or for social purposes such as email.
E mail
The first thing I will look at will be email. With email you can quickly talk to friends, work
colleagues, basically anyone who has an email address. I have two email accounts, one at home
provided by hotmail, which is useful because I can log on to it anywhere via the
Internet. I also have one at school provided by Solihull L.E.A, which
I can only access at school; both have a unique log on I.D and password. With my personal ... Show

Say for instance I had done a word document in history on Hitler and the Nazis, I may want to
carry on with it at home but when I come to send it, I can t because I have too many pictures on
there that take up space. Also if someone doesn t have broadband than it could take a long time to
attach a document or presentation to an email and even with broadband it could take a long time
depending on the size of the file.
A good thing about most email accounts is that they are free but then
I get a lot of adverts and pop ups.
If email companies are going to give people free email then they need to get the money from
somewhere to make sure they can afford the payment of the site, this is where the adverts and pop
ups come in, other companies pay companies such as hotmail to put their adverts and pop ups on
their websites hence hotmail can pay for the upkeep of the site.
I can set up a filter on my email account so that I only receive emails from people in my address
book. The problem is though that before I can receive emails from someone I need to add them to
my address book and if someone changes their email I need to edit my address book.
The alternatives to email are fax, which can be quick but can cost a lot of money, or text that is
quick so long as the other person has their phone on; you also need signal and credit, which can be
a problem. Both can be useful if email is

  • 2. Psy 270 Original Research Question Original Research Question: Is there an increase in exceptionalities because we have more research to identify disorders easily and quickly, or are we over diagnosing and generalizing mental disorders? Revised Research Question: What factors have caused a fluctuation in the number of diagnosis of autism, ADHD, and sensory processing disorder amongst children in the past 20 years? Reflection: When the research essay was assigned to the class, I was ecstatic because I knew what subject I wanted to write about. The trouble I faced when developing the exact question was narrowing down the topic, as well as making it approachable. I have a strong personal connection to my research topic, and I truly believe that the information I gather while writing this paper will significantly change the way I interact with others. Mental illness runs in my family, as my older sister has bipolar disorder, my mom has Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), my oldest brother has depression and GAD, my other brother has ADD, my great grandfather was schizophrenic, and my grandfather and two uncles have anxiety disorders. Greece And China Similarities Greece and China have many differences between them, with the first and foremost being that they both are set in different continents with Greece being in Europe and China being in Asia. Another difference between them is the currency they use. While Greece uses the Euro. China, on the other hand, uses the Renminbi. Still yet, another differencebetween them is that while Chinas economy is becoming stronger and richer it seems daily, Greece s economy seems to be becoming weaker and poorer with each passing day. Even though Greece and China have many things alike and many things different, I think that the greatest things about both of them that people already do like or will like is that they are both two very beautiful countries filled with lots of ancient beliefs and customs, mixed together with many new, modern day technologies that cause them to be places filled with many exciting and wonderful things that have and will fill a person s heart, and mind with a sense of awe and fascination causing them to want to visit them time and time ... • 6. Television And The Spanish Radio Station In its beginnings, no major or even minor radio station saw a future in Hispanic radio. Companies saw the Hispanic radio as a loss rather than an unopened door to a loyal public in not only the states, but all the way to many Mexican border cities. Yet, once brokers began the Spanish language programming, companies noticed how profitable these programs could potentially be. Stations and advertisers began to understand the benefit of reaching an underserved audience in their native language, publishing station profiles and trade figures for Spanish language stations. It was only in the late 1970s that marketers and advertisers demonstrated any real interest in this group of consumers (O Guinn, 1980). In 1980 the Federal Communications Commission found sixty seven Spanish oriented radio stations on the air. By the year 2000 the figure had increased dramatically to nearly six hundred, signifying a near 500 percent increase.21 The latest 2009 figures list over one thousand radio stations that broadcast exclusively in Spanish (Casillas, 2014). Spanish radio is known for catering to their immigrant based listeners, which we discussed, has created an immense amount of loyal listeners. Economic growth has been a byproduct of the stations need for connecting with their listeners and their constant search for sufficing their needs. Therefore, I am proposing a student mentorship program that targets all students enrolling at Mohave Community College (MCC). The program will encourage participation from the concurrent enrolled high school students, as well as students that are classified within the at risk category. Each student at registration will receive information regarding the program, and encourage to participate when attending orientation. Identified Need The implementation and formulation of the program are highly informed by the fact that certain groups of students desperately need interventions to enhance their academic performance and increase their retention rates (Stromel, 2000). The program has identified six types of students who require mentor consisting of the nontraditional adults; students in remedial studies; students exhibiting low classroom participation; learners with low campus or community involvement; anyone who lacks positive role models, and students complaining about time. There are an estimated five to six million wild boars in the United States with an estimated one million in Florida alone. Spreading rapidly with no intention of slowing down, these wild boars are causing devastation to the native environment throughout the United Stateswith their destructive habits. The US government has precautions put into place to try and control aspects of the boar population, but they re negating it with regulations that are benefiting the boars rather than the general population and native species. There are measures that need to be put into place in order to control the wild boarpopulation and the destruction that comes with them. The native Flora and Fauna of the United States is being threatened by numerous invasive species, one of which is considered to be the most destructive. The wild boar is known to dwell in 35 states and is costing the US an estimated $1.5 billion each year in damages. Eating almost everything it sets its eyes on, boars dig up anything it desires to eat in a process called rooting. When a wild boar does a rooting behavior to dig up food it destabilizes the soil surface which leads to surface erosion. The surface erosion removes the top layer of soil that is responsible for having the richest organic matter leading to the soil losing nutrients needed to support plant life. Wild board also feed on a large quantity of native vegetation leaving the native plants not enough time to fully recover before being trampled over again by the damaging heathens. Males also tusks small trees removing the bark layer on an area of the tree in order to mark their territory and display their dominance. This tusking behavior causing serious harm to trees and has the potential to kill the tree. There is a phloem layer under the bark of a tree that comes up when boars do their tusking behavior. Nutrients such as water and minerals travel up the Phloem layer of the tree from the roots to the leaves, but if the phloem layer is removed from a portion of the tree it restricts the nutrients distributed throughout the tree and leads ... Many scholars argue that these are not interchangeable and need to be assessed in conjunction with each other. It soon found its implementation in Freeman s management discipline , who promoted the expansion of firms accountability towards a broader range of stakeholders. He used two instances in the history of corporate actions of Ford with an interval of 80 years in between them. Keeping in mind the abovementioned Clark s remarks on corporate accountability back in 1916, this becomes even more educational, as it shows a dramatic change in shareholders perception of their business as a service to the broader society. Local food is defined as food that is produced in a 100 mile radius of where it was purchased. This trend has become a worldwide phenomenon and recognized as a potential solution to modern food production problems in the United States. Due to the numerous benefits, Locavorism is the best solution to solving the Unites States food problems. Example Of Nonverbal Communication COM1211N1 NONVERBAL COMMUNICATION ASSIGNMENT Analysis of Nonverbal Communication Nonverbal communication can range from gestures, facial expressions, and other behaviors that are attempting to send a message to another person without using words to communicate. With several forms of nonverbal communication, there is an attached message with the behaviors, though they can have different meanings to different people. The message being sent along with the nonverbal behaviors can also be directly noticed and understood by the other person in the conversation, or can be completely misunderstood or unnoticed. While examining the characteristics and behaviors of nonverbal gestures, we can unravel the message being relayed within communication. I had identified two couples each on a date at Panino s restaurant, finding individual characteristics of nonverbal communication, as one couple had been in a disagreement and one couple had a more romantic evening together. Though during the observation of each interaction, I had noticed contradistinction between the way the two couples communicated using non verbally, movement and gesture, and facial display messages. Signs of Nonverbal Communication: Expressing Emotions The couple who had been in a disagreement at the restaurant had many interactions of verbal and nonverbal conversations. The verbal messages being sent from the lady to the gentlemen were that he had sent another lady flirtatious messages on Facebook, which ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 22. Turbulent Flow Essay MM4TTF: Introduction to Turbulence and Turbulent Flows Case Study 1: Turbulent Boundary Layer Structure Turbulent coherent structures are flow patterns that can be distinguished from each other, as opposed to motions such as eddies which are subject to the phenomenon of superpositioning. Several of these occur in the near wall region: Low speed streaks refer to the regions of relatively slow flow spaced out in a pronounced manner. They generally occur between the legs of hairpin vortices, where flow is displaced upward from the surfaces so that it convects low momentum fluid away from the wall. [2]. Streaks have been found to occur in the sublayer region by Kline and Runstandler (1959)[1] and have been shown to occur at a distance of y+ ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another type of coherent structure are rolls , which are pairs of counter rotating streamwise vortices that are the dominant vertical structures in the near wall region defined by y+ 100 [2]. They account for streak production also, as the fluid being pushed outwards between the rolls has reduced axial velocity, creating a velocity profile which is inviscidly unstable, and also associate with bursting and lift up. Bursting may be described as a characteristic behaviour of the low speed streaks. It generally refers to the whole process of a streak undergoing lift up from near the wall, beginning to oscillate, and subsequently undergoing break up and ejection Firstly the streaks slowly begin moving downstream and drifting outwards; this is the process known as lift up . After the streak reaches a distance of around y+ = 8 12, it begins to rapidly oscillate, which increases in amplitude as outflow progresses. This ends in a sudden breakup, generally when y+ is between 10 30. After breakup, the streak lifts away from the wall by a vigorous and chaotic motion. This process ejects low speed fluid into a region of the boundary layer with a faster streamwise velocity. [3]. This process of bursting can be shown graphically, with a representation of a dye streak in a turbulent boundary layer; a typical example is shown below: The pressure gradient has been observed to have an effect on the bursting phenomenon; it has been observed that a positive ... The photograph depicts six men, five United States Marines and one United States Navy corpsman, raising the United States flag on Mount Suribachi, during the battle of Iwo Jima in World War II. Raising the flag on Iwo Jima was the second flag raising of the day, the first being raised early in the morning after the area was secure. Joe Rosenthal s photo was printed thousands of times, won the Pulitzer Prize for Photography, and has been made into stamps and statutes. Rosenthal uses color, lines, and structure to convey the message that the United States won the war. Rosenthal utilizes the black and white color of the photo to help convey his message of sadness. During World War II, over 6,000 marines were killed in battle, so the dark grey and black help project the message that it was a time of and sadness. • 25. To Kill A Mockingbird Reflection Throughout their lives, individuals learn many valuable lessons that help them to grow and mature as human beings. This also means being cooperative with people. The prominent novel, To Kill a Mockingbird , by Harper Lee portrays a story written from a girl named Scout. Scout is in her childhood and faces many hardships, including the trial of Tom Robinson and her dad being the defendant. One prominent theme that Lee includes is how individuals must see different perspectives putting an end to bigotry and the tension between others. Atticus Finch is a great example of an individual who instructs his children, Jem and Scout, precious life lessons about accepting all people. In chapter eleven Atticus tries to explain to Jem, why different people have a different view on things by saying, She had her own views about things, a lot different from mine, maybe... son, I told you that if you hadn t lost your head I d have made you go read to her... she was the bravest person I knew (Lee 128). This conveys that Atticus wanted Jem to understand and accept her rather than just judging her. Sometimes getting to know people isn t so bad because you never really understand them until you enlighten a person. Not only does Atticus takes his time to understand Mrs. Dubose, but he also takes his time out to defend Tom Robinson. Scout is troubled from the rumors of her dad being the defendant of Tom Robinson. Lee explains why Atticus defends Tom Robinson despite of the ridicule when she writes ... the main one is, is I didn t I couldn t hold up my head in town, I couldn t represent this country in the legislature, I couldn t even tell you or Jem not to do something again (Lee 86). Atticus accepted the case because he suggests that his morals for children and others are far greater than his reputation. Although the people in Maycomb is racist, Atticus is there for Tom Robinson and being a role model for his children to accept people for who they are. Atticus attempts to teach his kids about seeing things in other people s point of view to eliminate prejudice because he knows that the town is full of bigotry and racism. Trisha Brown s movements were finding the extraordinary in everyday life. They began challenging the existing perceptions of what is considered performance. Trisha Brown s style as well as the concepts that it produced were severely influential to modern dancethen, as well as now. Trisha Brown graduated from Mills College, which is in California, she then began to teach at Reed College which is in Portland, Oregon. Then in 1961 she moved to New York and in 1970 Trisha Brown began revolutionizing the dance world, specifically the modern genre. In 1968 Trisha Brown created a piece called Falling Duets. Unfortunately I was unable to find any videos of the work. However there was a description of the work on Trisha Brown s website and there were any recreations of her work. The piece is one big excellent example of weight sharing and it is quite the physical representation of trust between two people. The other work that I planned to study was called The Stream. Now I was also unable to find a video as this piece involved members of the public, although, I was able to find an in depth description of the piece. There was a large U shaped wooden structure filled with pots and pans that were full of water and the people passing were encouraged to walk through it. Some chose to walk straight through the water, others chose to avoid the water. It sounds like something that would have been amazing to watch as it took place in 1970. I studied four more works by Trisha Brown: Watermotor, I m Going to Toss My Arms if You Catch Them They re Yours, Set and Reset, and If You Couldn t See Me. The first of these Trisha Brown works that I studied as Watermotor. This was a very fluid, water like piece. All of the movements fit and flowed together nothing was choppy. It almost seemed like maybe she repeated the same movements but they were just different enough that they were not exactly the same. This piece was created in 1978 which was just a few years after Trisha Brown created her piece known as The Stream. It seems to me as though Tisha Brown was very into ... • 28. Argument On Miracles Are Impossible There is another argument against miracles, which has less to do with empirics and more to do with philosophy, namely the claim that miracles are impossible. No matter what I have accounted for above and no matter what we experience in life, there is no need to believe in miracles since they cannot happen, according to this view. It became popular during the so called enlightenment in the 18th century minority world, and its main proponents were pantheists like Voltaire and deists like Thomas Jefferson, who used theological arguments for their naturalism. From the pantheistic perspective, nature is god and so god cannot break natural laws because then he would break his own backbone. From a deistic perspective, god simply stopped intervening in his creation after he created it, and so miracles are impossible because god never wants to perform them (Jefferson even took a Bible and cut out all Jesus miracles with a pair of scissors to prove his point). Neither pantheism nor deism provide any substantial argument for these claims, but in the 19th century an atheist philosopher called David Hume, developed an argument against the probability of miracles that became popular. Hume did not argue that miracles are impossible, since that s as unprovable as claiming that God doesn t exist, but he thought that they are highly improbable to the extent that one should never believe a miracle report. Hume wrote that since common human experience is that dead men remain dead, for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The term vigilante justice means someone has gone outside the law to carry out a punishment for a crime. In other words vigilante justice means that a citizen has taken justice into their own hands. One of the defining elements of vigilantism is a response that involves violence that exceeds the legitimate use of force in self defense. These people who take justice into their own hands are called a vigilante. Our legal system does not permit vigilante justice (Grisham 137). Self defense, though, is the only type of vigilante justice that is legal because it is one of the rights written in the constitution. It is considered legal because self defense is one of the rights given to American citizens in the Constitution. Our legal system also cannot condone men who take the law into their own hands . This means that the government cannot over look a case of vigilante justice because it will cause problems in our society. The legal system also cannot over look it because the society cannot have people just running around with guns shooting other people who did them wrong. • 37. Motif And Motifs In Macbeth Sight of Darkness: Analyzing Murder Motifs in Macbeth Throughout Shakespeare s Macbeth, the motif sight represents a terrible event or murder; coinciding with the event, while also highlighting Macbeth s lack of accountability for the crimes. Through the use of the motif sight, it is conveyed that Macbeth decides he must turn a blind eye to the murder of Duncan. While trying to secure the throne he is prophesied to have, Macbeth frequently questions whether he should interfere with fate s process. After speaking with Duncan, Macbeth steps aside and states, The eye wink at the hand, yet let that be /which the eye fears, when it is done, to see (1.4.59 60). Macbeth s thoughts to kill Duncan are so evil when he does it that Macbeth doesn t want to look. In addition, the eye is a directly related to the brain, therefore, by winking, Macbeth tries to avoid acknowledging the evil he may commit. To conclude, Macbeth cannot stomach the thought of killing Duncan so he must turn a blind eye to it; he will try to literally not see it, and not acknowledge it cognitively. Another example of Macbeth turning a blind eye is after the killing of Duncan. Macbeth discusses with Lady Macbeth the remorse and guilt he feels. He states, I am afraid to think what I have done. / Look at again I dare not (2.2.66 67). Even after killing Duncan in attempt to claim the throne, Macbeth refuses to look at Duncan and his dead body. This again highlights Macbeth s refusal to condone his deeds as he cannot bare to look at what he has done. The final sight motif used by Macbeth precedes the murder of Banquo. Even after Duncan is dead, Macbeth and Lady Macbeth cannot stand idle and wait for the crown to be delivered to them; they decree to remove any threats posed to their succession. For this reason, they hire three murderers to kill Banquo. While talking to Lady Macbeth about their plans, Macbeth responds, Come, seeling night, / scarf up the tender eye of pitiful day / and with thy bloody and invisible hand (3.2.52 54). Similarly to the first passage, Macbeth is saying the actions of killing Banquo are so violent that it cannot be visible by the light of day. Many guns, including military grade weapons, have been circulating into the wrong hands of individuals in the region. Because of this, the crime rate in the Saint Louis area has been on the rise as well. So the spirit of the community embodied the principle that any war between France and Germany would become not merely unthinkable, but materially impossible (Pinder 2001:1) because the control over coal and steel would be taken by a supranational organization. The other reasons were merely economic and the creation of a single market was the first step to start a complementary process of political unification, which, since it involved the very intrinsic factor that defines a state sovereignty , was not that immediate and simple in the case of the EU. In 1957 the Treaty of Rome produced the EEC [establishing the common market , breaking down the barriers between the EU s national economies and establishing the 4 freedoms: free movement of goods, free movement of persons, freedom to provide services and free movement of capital] and EURATOM [concerning nuclear development] (Bainbridge 1998:287;518). In 1965 the Merger Treaty unified the three institutions forming the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The IFMIS provides a critical financial management solution for countries whose administrative and economic infrastructure is obsolete, or has been destroyed through war and years of conflict. There is broad agreement that a fully functioning IFMIS can improve governance by providing real time financial information that financial and other managers can use to administer programs effectively, formulate budgets, and manage resources. Sound IFMIS systems, coupled with the adoption of centralized treasury operations, can not only help developing country governments gain effective control over their finances, but also enhance transparency and accountability, reducing political discretion and acting as a deterrent to corruption and fraud. Obstacles should not be underestimated. The road to implementing successful IFMIS in developing countries is paved with difficulties, such as resistance from the bureaucracies involved; lack of decision making from the top; weak human capital; corruption and fraud; and, in the case of conflict ridden countries, the instability and violence that impair any efficient long term work. Moreover, IFMIS systems are complicated, expensive, and difficult to manage and maintain. Indeed, a 2003 review of 34 IFMIS projects supported by the World Bank over 15 years estimated that only few of the systems were likely to be sustained after donor support ceased. Obstacles notwithstanding, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Regan s Relationship With Her Mother In The Exorcist In the film industry, women act as the devil s portal because they are deemed weaker compared to the men in The Exorcist, it is Regan. According to a psychological interpretation of the film by Blatty and Friedkin, Regan s parents are divorced, she is jealous of Burke, she s often rejected by her dad (clover, 1992:71) and that the relationship with her mother was fine and great before that. With that being said, Regan s relationship with her mother is why she was possessed. After the possession, her attitude towards Chris changed as the act of rebel can represent the fact that she wants to remain close to her mother. The deep bond between mother and daughter is reinforced in the text at a number of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Drafting Technology Research Paper What is Drafting Technology exactly? The career field is such a broad description of so many different sub fields in this area that could possibly be focused on. Drafting is an unofficial design of an object or an idea, this can fluctuate as the project is coming along. After drafting you have technology which can be a set of tools or a model of how something would generally function. With that being said Drafting Technologyis exactly what is sounds like, the worker comes up with a design or drawing of an object and then would show how that object would generally function on an average day to day basis, so while everyone thinks that this is a career field that is meant for very intelligent human beings it is really for anyone that has creative... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is a very important skill to have because when designing a blueprint for something the employee could run into many difficulties that may not be the easiest thing to fix and that employee would need to come up with a solution while also staying in the specific guidelines for the project. So like I previously stated Drafting technology is a very broad description of a career field that has many sub categories within it like: architectural, civil, electrical, and mechanical drafting. Civil engineering is exactly what it sounds like this sub field focuses on the thing that deal with the civil life for example they are the engineers that build bridges and buildings. Just like civil engineers is self explanatory so is Electrical Engineering the engineers of the field focus on everything that deals with electronics, this can range in difficulty from designing the motherboard of a computer to designing a cell phone. The final sub field is Mechanical Engineer, this group designs a variety of objects that can be as simple as a single part like a bolt to the most confusing and complex assemblies like a refrigerator. Even though all of these sub fields have different job focuses they all have the same amount of income with a range from $121,000 to $126,000. The lowest paying sub field is the Mechanical Engineers with a Civil Engineer being on the higher end of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Three5S I.C.T In Our Society This report is about how ICT has affected us as a society. For example, for entertainment purposes like games consoles, communication purposes such as mobile phones, storage purposes such as storing music on a CD or for social purposes such as email. E mail The first thing I will look at will be email. With email you can quickly talk to friends, work colleagues, basically anyone who has an email address. I have two email accounts, one at home provided by hotmail, which is useful because I can log on to it anywhere via the Internet. I also have one at school provided by Solihull L.E.A, which I can only access at school; both have a unique log on I.D and password. With my personal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Say for instance I had done a word document in history on Hitler and the Nazis, I may want to carry on with it at home but when I come to send it, I can t because I have too many pictures on there that take up space. Also if someone doesn t have broadband than it could take a long time to attach a document or presentation to an email and even with broadband it could take a long time depending on the size of the file. A good thing about most email accounts is that they are free but then I get a lot of adverts and pop ups. If email companies are going to give people free email then they need to get the money from somewhere to make sure they can afford the payment of the site, this is where the adverts and pop ups come in, other companies pay companies such as hotmail to put their adverts and pop ups on their websites hence hotmail can pay for the upkeep of the site. I can set up a filter on my email account so that I only receive emails from people in my address book. The problem is though that before I can receive emails from someone I need to add them to my address book and if someone changes their email I need to edit my address book. The alternatives to email are fax, which can be quick but can cost a lot of money, or text that is quick so long as the other person has their phone on; you also need signal and credit, which can be a problem. Both can be useful if email is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
