Isaac Sherrill Biography
One day a miracle happened, I, Isaac Sherrill, was born! I was born on March 9, 2003. A long
time ago, I know. I thought I would write an autobiography so I could tell people about myself, but
also to entertain a little.
I was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana and I was the first child of my family. When I was one we
moved to Arizona for a year. Then when we moved back to Indiana my sister was born, and now
I have three brothers and three sisters. My life has taken taken some twists and turns and now I
live in Grand Rapids, Michigan as a manager of agents for artists, performers and athletes.
When I was two we moved to Council Bluffs, Iowa where my dad took a job as a pastor. When I
was going to preschool one of my friends was Jonah ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I got a lot of recognition working there because people knew who I was from playing basketball. I
made about $15,000 working out there which fortunately was enough to get by. My college
experience was amazing and I m thankful for my time there.
I was seen as a smart, young, athletic coming out of college and with some convincing I got a
position managing agents of athletes, performers, and artists. I made $120,000 with that job
which was great especially because this was my first big job. Through the years I have been
working my way up the ranks. I hope that one day I will be able to do something big like being the
CEO of Nike or something like that as I said earlier.
I live in Grand Rapids, MI because I have always loved the city, but most of all, all the opportunities
it offers for me and my family. I bought a very nice house straight off after college which I reside in
to this day. I also drive a nice Range Rover Evoque which had been my dream car since I was a
little boy. But I most enjoy having season tickets to the MSU basketball season, the very college
I graduated from. Looking back on my life I thank God for everything he has blessed me with. In
the future I hope to be able to impact people s lives in a big way such as possibly opening a
hospital or something like that (obviously that s a ways down the road). But in the meantime I ll
be out here in Grand Rapids, MI devoting my life to God

Dental School Experience
1. One of the factors that I considered when looking into dental schools was the ability to establish
a strong foundational knowledge that will allow students to excel in their respective fields. When
looking at Boston University, I found that by offering a rigorous course load, GSDM was able to
produce some of the most renown dentists in the country. Secondly, the combination of their
amazing professors and a state of the art clinic which allow students to practice their skills on
patients was one of the most enticing factors that drew me to this university. Thirdly, the CAGS
graduate study program for specialties was one of the main factors that caught my eyes. Since I am
looking to attend a graduate program, seeing that Boston University... Show more content on

I would be a valuable asset to the classroom because I am a firm believer that having a good work
ethic, an open mind, and a caring personality will lead one far in life. Having a fondness for
challenging tasks, I would be able to help figure out complicated equations or problems by
bringing in different perspectives. While I do enjoy working alone, I also enjoy working with
groups. I was reminded by my college professors that I teach as I learn, as in I always strive to
help those around me grow and develop with me. Studying by oneself is an important skill to have,
but communicating and working with classmates is even more important. Using my interpersonal
skills, I believe that I would be able to connect students to work together. Finally, I can bring a sense
of humor to the classroom. I know that dental school is a place of focus, but I believe that having a
balance of humor and focus is crucial to prevent students from being stressed. During stressful
times, many people burn out, but when humor is incorporated within a classroom environment, not
only will the students benefit, but the professors will benefit as well. I would contribute to the
school by integrating myself within one of the schools organized groups, such as the American
Student Dental Association or the Asian Dental Student Organization. Being a natural leader, I
would integrate myself within one of these organizations and run for positions within the
organization so that I can make a lasting impact on

Amazing Grace Kozol Summary
In an excerpt from the book Amazing Grace:The Lives of Children and the Conscience of a
Nation, by Jonathan Kozol, he talks about people in the South Bronx, one of the most dangerous
and diseased cities in the west, which creates terrible living conditions. Kozol walks around the
city with a seven year old named Cliffie, who guides him and talks about certain places, sometimes
making things up, like how the incinerator burns bodies. After he walks around the city, Kozol talks
with Cliffie s motherin St. Ann s Church about the issues and the better things in the community.
The excerpt ends with Pastor Martha Overall who talks about how one of the founders of the
United States, Governor Morris, is buried beside his wife in the churchyard.... Show more content

outside. (P. 4, L.11 12). St. Ann s church is a place of peace, where people can hide from the
outside terrors on the South Bronx, which shows that the South Bronx has a good place, even
though the community is sometimes dangerous.
The addicted people at the Children s Park can t stop doing drugs. Even though they are bad,
volunteers gave out clean needles, so the people doing them won t get sick from other people,
which shows even though drugs are bad, at least people are making them safer.
The dump attracts illegal dumpers, which makes the city become trashy, but Cliffie s mother found
some nice chairs, which she took for her family to use. Cliffie saw many terrible things, but he
dreams about his mother and thinks about her, which keeps him going through the bad living
conditions he has to deal with. There are many terrors on the streets of the South Bronx, but the
St. Ann s church provides a safe place for people to feel protected from the dangers. Many people
in the South Bronx are addicted to drugs, which isn t good for them, but volunteers give them clean
needles to use, so they won t contract diseases from needles that more than one person has used.

Impact Of Globalisation On Thailand
ntroduction Globalisation is the process of integration of national economies through international
trade of markets in goods and services, international trade in assets, and international spread of
ideas, from consumer tastes to intellectual ideas (Frankel, 2006). Thailand is one of the less
developed countries (LDC) in the world. During 1990s, Thailand became more exposed to global
forces and globalisation had higher intensity than the previous attempts. Thailand experienced two
previous waves of globalisation in the late 19th century with the expansion of the rice economy and
in the late 1950s with Thailand s induction under the United States Cold War strategy and economic
tutelage (Pathmanand, 2001). This paper aims to explain the global impact, benefits and risks of
globalisation on Thailand s economy, environment, culture, politic and society. 122 Impact of

The Dominance of Microsoft’s Xbox 360
The Dominance of Microsoft s Xbox 360
The video game market has slowly and steadily created a larger presence for itself in the
entertainment industry. The largest part of the market s recent growth (from 2005 to the present) is
undeniably due in part to the video game console created by Microsoft called the Xbox 360.
Microsoft was the first company to release what is called the current generation console, and
successfully beat Sony out of the gate. Prior to the release of the Xbox 360, Sony had dominated the
market with their console, the PlayStation 2. It is because of Microsoft s ongoing innovations to
enhance player interactivity and large game catalogue (especially those with record breaking sales)
is why they are the dominant ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(Kubba) This amount of money is unheard of when it comes to music or film. In comparison,
the top most grossing films are Avatar and Titanic. (Internet Movie Database) The film Avatar
earned $760 million within three years, and Titanic earned $658 million within six years, all of
which are comprised of film earnings at the box office and home video recordings like DVD or
Blu ray. The technology created by Microsoft for their Xbox 360 is the first of its kind. A perfect
example is a device called the Kinect. This device utilizes a microphone and multiple cameras to
enhance gamers experience, especially for game titles like Dance Central. Kinect utilizes motion
detection in order to spot interaction and display it on the screen accordingly. Another function for
the device is voice recognition. Rather than using a controller, the player can simply speak the
commands and the Xbox will do the said action. But the use for the Kinect has also extended far
beyond its gaming origins, spurring advances in medical treatment. (Knight) Using the Kinect for
real world applications, including making medical diagnoses or three dimensional modeling was an
unintended side effect of the Kinect when it was released. At first, Microsoft seemed hesitant to
allow people to use the Kinect for something outside of gaming, but soon it was apparent that it
could be used

The Social Inequalities And The Biosocial Ecology
Viral hemorrhagic fevers (VHFs) are found around the world that is one group of illness caused
by virus of five distinct families: Arenaviridae, Bunyaviridae, Filoviridae, Flaviviridae, and
Paramyxoviridae (Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 2013). These include the Ebola and
Marburg, Lassa fever, and yellow fevervirus (U.S National Library of Medicine, 2016). Garrett
point out that less than a decade ago, one of the biggest problem in the world was the lack of
resources available to combat the multiple scourges ravaging the world s poor and sick. (Garrett,
p. 171). Today, thanks to private donations, more money is being assigned toward pressing
health challenges. But because the efforts of this money is paying for a largely uncoordinated
and directed mostly at specific high profile diseases resulting a problem because the world is
poised to spend enormous resources to conquer the diseases of the poor (Garrett, p. 171). This
paper will discuss the epidemiology of VHFs., the social inequalities and the biosocial ecology.
The five families of viruses that cause viral hemorrhagic feverare most found over the world. The
Arenaviridae are a family of virus whose members are generally associated with rodent transmitted
disease in humans causing severe illnesses (Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 2013).
Flaviviridae are a family of positive, single stranded, enveloped RNA virus. They are found in
arthropods, primarily ticks and mosquitoes, and can infect

Shen Congwen The New And The Old Summary
Writer Shen Congwen is not as straightforward politically involved as Lu Xun is in his short
stories. Shen Congwen writes about revolution through a series of lenses that is quite different
from that of Lu Xun. Where Lu Xun takes a more rational stance on how things should progress
in China through revolution, Shen Congwen wants the reader to see the beauty in revolution and
life as a Chinese citizen. In his short story The New and the Old, the reader experiences a
dramatic scene about a soldier who is called upon to carry out an execution. As the story continues,
the reader discovers that this executioner is the best one in town, and that his executions are seen
as a true art, not very many people can take off a head with one swing of the

Chapter 29 is composed mainly of letters that were sent between Jerusalem and Babylon. Jeremiah
received information that false prophets in Babylon were telling the exiles they would return home
soon. Therefore, the exiles made little or no effort, to adjust to their new surroundings. When King
Zedekiah sent an official delegation to Babylon, Jeremiah used the occasion to secretly send a
letter, carried by Elasah and Gemariah, two of Jeremiah s few supporters, to the rest of the elders
of the exile, the priests, the prophets and all the people (29: 1 3). Disturbed by their unrealistic
attitude, Jeremiah exhorted them to settle down, build homes, and plant gardens; for he knew they
would be in Babylon many years (25:11).5
The Letter: Jeremiah 29:4 14
The message to the exiles was very practical. First, they should realize that God had sent them into
captivity. There are no greetings from Jeremiah here, no personal words. Instead the letter begins
with This is what the Lord says, as Yahweh addresses the entire exilic community and identifies
himself as the one who exiled them from Jerusalem to Babylon. 6 That being the case, they should
make the best of their situation. The normal activities of life should be resumed. Specifically he
mentioned building houses, planting gardens, and marrying their children. Jeremiah directed them

How Did Mary Get Stoned
This movie added a little bit of the Nativity Story to my understanding. The part in the movie that
stood out to me was that Mary and Joseph s marriage was arranged. I learned that when Mary
became pregnant Joseph could have pressed charges against her and if he did then she would be
stoned. I learned that if he didn t press charges against her and declared to everyone that the child
was his then Mary would not be stoned but both Joseph and Mary would be considered a disgrace
and would be outcasts from their people. I learned that Joseph didn t press charges or declare
that Mary s child was his but instead he said nothing. I was really impressed of Joseph decision to
not let Mary get stoned but also not make himself a disgrace by declaring

Personality Change In Macbeth
In William Shakespeare s Macbeth , the title character undergoes a serious personality change. At
the plays beginning Macbeth is a loyal and honorable man who, unfortunately, is immensely
ambitious. As the play progresses however, Macbeth begins to lose the honor that he held onto so
dearly. Macbeths descent into dishonor is displayed in the two most prominent murders in the first
3 acts: the slaying of Duncan and the assassination of Banquo. When Lady Macbethis convincing
her husband to murderthe king, the reader is able to detect his hesitation to commit such a heinous
crime. Also, the remorse Macbeth feels after he murders Duncan proves that he still possesses
some of that honor and loyalty he originally held in such high regard. However, when Macbeth
has Banquo killed he has changed into a cold and evil man. He, Macbeth, no longer clings to his
honor and loyalty. In Macbeth by William Shakespeare, Macbeth`s has a personality shift that is
showcased in the murders of King Duncan and Banquo. Macbeth is originally depicted as an
honorable and loyal man. However his ambition and his wife lead him to do things he would never
dream of without those influences. The hesitation that Macbeth shows when thinking about
murdering Duncan proves that he started out as an honorable man: I have no spur/ To prick the
sides of my intent, but only/ Vaulting ambition (pg. 40 ll 25 27). Without the prodding of his wife,
Macbeth never would have committed the murder of King Duncan.

The theme of The Possibility Of Evil is that appearances can be deceptive. This is revealed

the point when she enters the town s grocery store, half a dozen people turned away from the
shelves and counters to wave at her or call out good morning. However, as the story progresses,
the readers soon realize that Miss Strangeworth is not who she appears to be. She has been

According to Census 2010 figures, 31% (more than 41,000 same sex couples) are raising

50,000 were adopted in 2006, yet in 2015, around 617,000 children were served, but only 53,000

Beauty And The Beast Comparison Essay
A Timeless Tale The story of the Beauty and the Beast is well known amongst all ages. Though the
story they portray in the Disney version is much different than what they have portrayed it in
France. La Belle et la BГЄte has been produced twice, once in 1946 and again in 2014. These two
movies tell the same story but in very different ways. The perception of this story has changed
between the different time periods. The 1946 version has two sisters and one brother. The father
is a merchant and they have money. There is no mention of a motherly figure. The father is very
keen to his Belle staying with him, and he does not want her to leave. The 2014 version has two

This however was not the cause for the loss of their house; instead it was the brothers doing. He
had been gambling and lost money without being able to pay back and signed a contract that
allowed them to sue and take their possessions if they felt like it. On the father s way back from
the port he got lost and wandered upon the Beast s castle. In the 2014 version, the father s ships
had been lost at sea, but the Mermaid had returned with its goods. By the time the father came to
retrieve though, it had been picked through as he had already signed away the ships. Their
possessions and house were taken because they now did not have any money. On the father s way
back from the port his horse stumbled and slid, hurting its leg. The father then treads on, falls off
a cliff, and then finds the Beast s castle. When the father enters the castle in the 1946 version, there

A Report On The Resin Based Adhesives
Summary The Aracuo mill in Sault Ste Marie manufactures a range of medium density fibreboard
(MDF) composite panels as well as a wide selection of thermally fused laminates (Arauco, 2016).
The resin based adhesives used in the manufacturing process of these materials create a source for
airborne formaldehyde in the workplace. This presents a substantial health concern for workers in
the Sault Ste. Marie Facility. Subsequently, routine air sampling is conducted to ensure safe
working conditions. At present the Arauco Sault Ste. Marie facility maintains an air sampling
program using the NIOSH 2016, Issue 2 method. While the current program is cost effective it has
numerous limitations, such as limited sampling locations and infrequent collection of data. It is
recommended that the Arauco Sault Ste. Marie facility consider implementing a more
comprehensive air sampling program. While this would likely increase program costs, changes to
the air sampling approach would remove sampler error, greatly increase the quantity of data
collected, and extend sampling locations throughout the facility. Implementation of some or all of
these recommendations would greatly increase the comprehensiveness of the air sampling program.

Staffing within a sheriff s organization Introduction Staffing in a Sheriff s organization is an
extremely important part of human resource management. It helps to identify the strengths of the

The government increases the cost of the health care for people who earn more and help others

How Did Alfred Hitchcock Build Suspense
The first half of this course focused on Alfred Hitchcock and how his techniques are now
recognized as iconic. From class discussions and film screenings, it is clear that Hitchcock pays
every attention to detail when he crafts a scene. Many Hitchcock films we have seen this semester
highlight how he builds suspensethrough cinematic elements such as shadow, dialogue, and
composition. While many of his suspenseful scenes stir feelings of intensity and uncertainty, Alfred
Hitchcockbuilds a more romantic suspense in his 1955 film To Catch a Thief in the fireworksscene
(1:06:35 1:11:00). To Catch a Thief follows John Robie (Cary Grant), a retired jewel thief formally
known as The Cat. When another burglar copies his old burglary techniques,... Show more content

Throughout the conversation between John and Francie, the shadows cover the characters in
different ways. For the majority of this scene, Francie has minimal shadows on her. It is as if the
moonlight is shining on her. The only instance where part of her body is covered in shadow is
when she steps back into the dark, saying, the thrill is right there in front of you, but you can t
quite get it. Her face disappears, but the necklace remains visible and sparkling for the audience
and John to see. On the other hand, John has half of his face covered in shadow several times
while they are watching the fireworks. While Francie is tempting John as well as getting him to
admit his true identity, John disregards Francie s scenarios and states that he would not take
part in such acts. The fact that we can see one side of his face could mean that John is trying to
conceal his identity as the former cat burglar. Hitchcock could have manipulated the shadows to
highlight John s dual identity. The only reason I can think of for why Francie s shots are not
covered in as many shadows is that Hitchcock wanted to emphasize her beauty to the audience
and to John. As Francie continues to tempt John, the romantic suspense builds as the firework
display continues. The scene starts with John and Francie facing each other as the fireworks
display is occurring between them. The fireworks serve as a symbol of the relationship between
John and Francie. As the scene progresses, the fireworks displays goes from simple to out of
control. Once John and Francie move to the couch, the camera switches views from the characters
to the fireworks to display how both events are similar to one

Introduction While the rate of crime in the United States has decreased overall an increase in
senseless violence being committed by young people leaves individuals trying to understand what
is to blame. It is encouraging that the rate of crimes of violence in the United States has dropped

physical altercations in recent years. Many have tried to identify what is causing this increase in
violence among children. The growing problem of violence and aggressive behavior in society is
speculated to be credited in part to the rise of violent video games.
Background
Over the past few decades the average person s daily routine has changed drastically through the
rapid development and advancements in technology. Most people living today can remember a time
when not every person had a cell phone and smartphones sounded more like science fiction than a
reality. As technology has made advancements the world of entertainment and the way people
spend their free time has changed. One sector that has seen drastic improvements is that of the
world of video games. The interaction levels, intricacies, complexity and

USA policy of containment
Was the US policy of Containment a success or a failure?
It was in a speech made by the 33rd President of the United States of America, Harry Truman in
which he announced a policy that would undoubtedly shape the way his nation would be looked at
for much of the century (or at least the half of it that remained). It was in this speech that he
announced his very own Doctrine, intended to to support free people who are resisting attempted
subjugation by armed minorities or by outside pressures. , to save the free peoples of Eastern
Europe from the monster known as Communism, a political ideology born out of the Russian
Revolution of 1917, that had spread somewhat like a plague, throughout the lands in the East, which

Initially, American leaders were unsure about how exactly containment would be implemented.
Would it be applied everywhere? Would it involve economic aid to help nations reconstruct their
economies? Would it involve military confrontation? The answer was to come soon.
In June 1947, the United States announced the Marshall Plan, intended to help economic recovery
in Europe and thus prevent the spread of Communism in a Europe that was increasingly becoming
a breeding ground of hate , thus providing a comforting environment for the rise of the Marxist
ideology. At first, the Marshall Plan seemed to be a success, with economic aid worth $17 billion
being made available to Europe and ensuring the protection of democratic governments in Turkey
and Greece. Marshall Aid did help economic recovery in Europe, erasing unemployment and
improving living standards greatly. Most Western European nations were happy to accept American
aid in order to redevelop their economies. However, Stalin forbade any Eastern European countries
from accepting the Plan and setup organizations like the Cominform and Comecon instead, to
further tighten Stalin s grip over Eastern Europe.
One of containment s major aims was also to ensure that West Germany and West Berlin could get
its economy back on track to prevent the infiltration of Communism from East Germany, controlled
by the Soviets. In 1946, the Allied zones of Germany were combined

Case 11.1 (p. 337) Conflict at Walt Disney Company: A Distant Memory?|
1) How would you describe the conflict between Michael Eisner and the Weinstein brothers, the two
board members (Disney and Gold), and Steve Jobs? Was it functional or dysfunctional?
Ivancevich (p. 311) defines functional conflict as a confrontation between groups that enhances and
benefits the organization s performance while he defines dysfunctional conflict as any
confrontation or interaction between groups that harms the organization or hinders the achievement
or organizational goals. Though, a point the Ivancevich makes (p. 311) is that in most cases, the
point at which functional confrontation becomes dysfunctional is impossible to identify precisely. ...

The conflict of Eisner and Jobs at first was the perceived stage due to the negative comments
Eisner made at congressional hearings; Jobs took the comments personally and so was very
emotional about the words.
As the feud continued and escalated, Jobs took the perceived stage to the last stage of conflict
manifest. As the feud escalated, Jobs threatened to not renew the Disney Pixar relationship after
the release of Cars in 2006 if Eisner was still CEO of Disney. Thus, Jobs acted upon the conflict
with this threat which would have had dire financial losses for Disney.
3) Which of the following best describes Michael Eisner s and Bob Iger s approaches to resolving
conflict: dominating, problem solving, avoiding, or accommodating? Explain:
Certainly Eisner s approach to resolving conflict would fall into the dominating category;
dominating approach is the person/group s maximum focus on meeting its own concerns, coupled
with a minimal focus on meeting the concerns of other group (Ivancevich, p. 319). It seems Eisner
fought or had difficulty with all key persons with the other companies he dealt with; apparently
maintaining these key relationships was not a high priority with Eisner. I think as Eisner still
continued to be successful in spited of these issues, he probably gained a sense of unlimited power

New York City Building Research Paper
Guide on researching history of buildings in New York City
A history of a building can be of interest to many people. This may be someone s academic
project or even a project of a company. It could also be out of personal interest, just curious to
know more about a specific building; like the one they are living or working in or some other
popular monument. Whatever the reason may be, it is possible to obtain detailed information
regarding every aspect of a building. This can be done, but requires a lot of patience and plenty of
research. There are many sources that can be used. Some of the more popular sources are books,
the online data available via the Internet, a Public Library and many more like offices of public
records.
How to research history of a building in New York?
There are several methods of performing the research. Either way it takes a lot of effort and
involves putting together pieces of information from many different sources. Here are a few steps
to get started:
There is a very good chance that the building for which you require information has already been
well documented. Hence the first thing to do would be to check if that is so. The best place to
check for this is the preservation office. This is an office at the state history which has well
documented information on many buildings both at ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is something called the Sanborn Maps that can be used to obtain information regarding the
history of a building. Some of these records date back as far as the late 1800 s. In addition to this,
they were even updated starting mid 1900 s. Hence, it is highly likely that the information for the
building you are looking may be documented in this method. This will provide information about
the original construction and further updates made as well. The details will include the construction
material used and even the changes made in the surrounding

Comparing Aquinas, And Paley s Natural Theology
A watch embodies all appearances of intelligent design. It has purpose, a certain disposition or
instruction. It is a complex object; all parts are needed for it to fulfil its purpose and we could not
substitute any of these parts. It is made of a specific set of materials; we do not find smelted gold
or blown glass naturally occurring in nature. The watchalso has a regular motion. All these
properties and dispositions a watch personifies show it is a creation and not just a naturally
occurring object. The same is said about the human eye through analogy. This is the reason William
Paleychose to use the watch as well as the human eye to highlight his argument for design in his
work Natural Theology, (1802). The teleological argument he puts forth is one we can know
empirically through observation. It is not the purpose of the argument to fully convince us that the
argument is correct in every way. The purpose is to offer the audience a logical and suggestible
conclusion. However the argument... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

This is where the idea of creating objects to fulfill purposes becomes blurred. A reasonable
comparison would be to fill up a glass with water and then have the water amazed at the fact the
glass has been made to fit it perfectly, when in fact it could be no other way. This is an example
of a weak anthropic argument. If such a thing as the universe was different in any of way we
would not be around to know about it. We are left to inhabit the only known universe able to exist.
Maybe it is the human race which has adapted for the universe, not the other way around, as the

Grignard Corey-Seebach Reactions Lab Report
Carbon Carbon bonding reactions in chemistry are important because they allow the diversity and
generation of larger molecules. Aldol additions and Grignard reactions are few of many well
understood methods for generating carbon bonds bonds.1 The products of aldol additions are
formed from ketone and aldehydegroups under acid or basic conditions. Catalyzed by these
conditions the ketones undergo tautomerization between keto enol forms, the enolate reacting with
a neighboring aldehyde. The new bond is created between the alpha carbon of ketone and
electrophilic center of the aldehyde by electrophilic addition. With Grignard reactions, an
organomagnesium carbanion reacts with another electron withdrawing group such as a carbanion.

The Lord Of The Rings
Darkness extended over all of Middle Earth like a veil during the time of war. New laws were
enforced and the citizens freedom was taken away. Frodo s magic ring represents the
unsustainability of the environment, and the characters of Middle Earth. In The Lord of the Rings,
Tolkien uses the magic ring to reflect the politics of sustainability, by drawing from his own life
experiences. Two philosophers, Scruton and Hart write their recipes for sustainability. Scruton
believes that finding the right balance between beauty and piety can result in a love of place and
sustainability. Hart writes about anarcho monarchism and states that finding the balance between
anarchy, monarchism, and dictatorship, can lead to a sustainable culture. In... Show more content on

Once the magic ring was destroyed, the dark spell was lifted, the battlefield action ceased, and the
war was over. War is unstable, both for people physically and mentally, and for the environment.
Once a war is started, environmental sustainability is not a big priority. Destroying the enemy is the
purpose of war, but even when we use precise weapons, additional damage also occurs. This
unintentional damage can destroy ecosystems, and disregards the importance of protecting
recourses. To be sustainable, humans must stop destroying the natural systems. (Cairns, 2)
Frodo s magic ring symbolizes unsustainability. The ring caused war and brought out the greed
for power in individuals. Obtaining an object such as the ring causes isolation of the carrier, and
the feelings of desire and temptation are overwhelming (Carpenter, 431). Anarcho monarchists
believe societies should have a person to represent the culture of the community as a whole. Their
job does not include possessing more authority than others; the representative would have no
power. Other members of the community would owe the representative nothing. David Hart
related this idea of a powerless ruler, to the king piece in a game of chess. The king is the most
useless piece on the board, which occupies its square simply to prevent any other piece from doing
so, but which is somehow still the whole game . The second principle of the Earth Charter

Socrates And His Views Of Justice
Joshua Ayen
PHIL100H
Dr. Gottlieb
10/8/14
Socrates and His Views of Justice In Plato s The Republic, there are several accounts of justice that
are presented throughout the dialogue, especially in Book I. One of these accounts is presented by
Socrates, in which he believes that justice is not harming anyone under any circumstances. Socrates
first presents this argument when he questions if it is just to treat anyone badly (335b).
Polemarchus, based on his account of justice in which justice is treating friends well and harming
enemies (332d) believes that it is okay to hurt people (335b). Socrates then brings up examples of
what happens when a horse, dog, and person are treated poorly (335b c). In all these cases, Socrates
points out that it worsens them. Afterwards, when taking into account that justice is a human
excellence, (335c) Socrates says that members of the human race who are treated badly must
necessarily become more unjust. Therefore, based on that reasoning, Socrates presents a
fundamentally valid argument. In theory, Socrates s claim that it is not just to treat anyone badly
under any circumstances is sound because not one person or creature deserves bad treatment, no
matter the past unjust actions or decisions that person/creature has done in the past. However, it is
difficult to put it into practice because of emotion. To defend this argument made by Socrates, I
will go more in depth about two points that were brought about him: If it really is just

Canada Goose Case Analysis Essay
Current situation
Canada Goose has experienced steady organic growth as a niche brand, selling their product
through independently owned stores. By June 2008 it was selling product in 28 different
countries across North America and Europe plus two authorized online retailers. Now it has a
significant opportunity to further cement itself as a market leader by placing its product with a
national chain. Initially, Canada Goose considered offers from two national chain retailers. One
offer came from a Canadian chain called Asmuns Place. Another offer came from Levene s
Menswear. Table 1 provides a high level overview and compares these two offers.

Firstly, the Canada Goose brand faces a threat from the increased number of fake products by
counterfeiters. Secondly, there is a rising concern from independent stores that national chain stores
would discount Canada Goose products causing their sales to drop. And thirdly, Lisa Freedman
from Asmuns Place made a last minute offer for exclusive distribution of Canada Goose female and
menswear through their store chain. This offer restricts Canada Goose s flexibility in terms of
choosing a distribution partner, but simplifies the distribution process.
Recommendations
Pursue both initial opportunities with the women s closing product line for Asmuns Place and
with the men s product line for Levene s Menswear. This will result in an increase in the market
share in Canada by 10%. It will provide the ability to bring newer products to market, and not
restrict the distribution of products to a single national chain store. Canada Goose should define the
conditions under which Asmuns Place or any other retail chain will feature its products in store
advertisements. It also needs to assure its original distribution partners that they will be able to
maintain their existing brand prestige and pricing throughout all their stores in Canada.
Canada Goose should expand their distribution of its product to Eastern Europe starting with Russia
since it is a country with severe winter conditions. This will assure Canada Goose growth without
the risk of saturating the

Baby Boom Generation Analysis
Baby Boom Generation Must Retire Now From Government Divisions
It s not uncommon to read articles today about the impact the recession is having on young people
who are just graduating from college. Their career opportunities are already limited. As the
Boomers stay put, it may further limit the advancement opportunities of the generations beneath
them. The typical definition of Baby Boom Generation refers to elder born between the years of
1946 and 1964. American Samoa government divisions are filled with Baby boomers that have
exceeded more than 30 years of service. As a result, the government needs to modify its retirement
policies to allow cost savings, increase of jobs in American Samoa government workforce and add
quality services offered by the government.
The government of American Samoa is continuing facing with a financial downturn. The
problem falls within the leaders when political promises become a driving force in their
decision. Sadly favoritism and nepotism are witnessed in the government regardless of equal
employment opportunity regulation. A great deal of these inclination leans toward Directors of
each department in the government. Samoa News contended that each Director whom are

only that, if perhaps each director exceeded 30 years of service in the government, they will have

Notes On Leadership And Management
Leadership versus Management
1. Define Management.
Management is the organizational process that includes strategic planning, setting; objectives,
managing resources, deploying the human and financial assets needed to achieve objectives, and
measuring results. Management also includes recording and storing facts and information for later
use or for others within the organization.
Management is the process of reaching organizational goals by working with and through people
and other organizational resources.
There are three main characteristics that management focus on: It is a process or series of
continuing and related activities, involving and concentrating on reaching organizational goals, and
reaching the goals by working with and through people and other organizational resources.
2. Define Leadership. Leadership is the ability of an individual or a group of individuals to
influence and guide followers or other members of an organization. Leadership involves making
sound (and sometimes difficult) decisions, creating and articulating a clear vision, establishing
achievable goals and providing followers with the knowledge and tools necessary to achieve these
goals. Leadership is the ability of a company s management to make sound decisions and inspire
others to perform well. Effective leaders are able to set and achieve challenging goals, to take swift
and decisive action even in difficult situations, to outperform their competition, to take calculated
risks and to

The only thing on cash budgets should be cash payments and receipts. However, depreciation
does affect taxes, which do appear in the cash budget. In his preliminary cash budget, Barnes has
assumed that all sales are collected and, thus, that SKI has no bad debts. Is this realistic? If not,
how would bad debts be dealt with in a cash budgeting sense? (Hint: Bad debts will affect
collections but not purchases.) No, it is not realistic to assume zero bad debts. In almost all
situations there are bad debts. When credit is granted, bad debts should be expected. Collections
in each month would be lowered by the percentage of bad debts. Payments would be unchanged,
so the result would be that loan balances would be larger and cash surplus balances would be
smaller by the difference in the collection amounts. Barnes cash budget for the entire year,
although not given here, is based heavily on his forecast for monthly sales. Sales are expected to
be extremely low between May and September but then increase dramatically in the fall and
winter. November is typically the firm s best month, when SKI ships equipment to retailers for the
holiday season. Interestingly, Barnes forecasted cash budget indicates that the company s cash
holdings will exceed the targeted cash balance every month except for October and November,
when shipments will be high but collections will not be coming in until later. Based on the ratios in

Better Business Bureau System Analysis
The systems that have been put in place by the Better Business Bureau to protect businesses and

Bureau has implemented change as it relates to the point system of accreditation (Ferrell,

Another change the Better Business Bureau has implemented is the way consumer complaints are

The Presentation Of Self In Everyday Life Erving Goffman...
This week, we talked about the development of the self. The most interesting readings for me
was The Presentation of Self in Everyday Life by Erving Goffman. In this piece, Goffman
discusses the dramaturgical theory of social interaction, which is the view that we put on a
social facade in our daily lives, as if we are all actors in a theatrical performance. There are two
main points that really stood out to me. First was impression management, more specifically, the
(mis)alignment of expressions given and expressions given off. This is so common in everyday
life. One of our goals as life actors is confirming that others are making a good impression, but we
often struggle to convey that because of a misalignment in our explicit verbal cues

The Category And Summary Of The Lord Of The Flies
Summary of the movie: A gathering of young men end up stranded on an island and begin
getting to be plainly savage. Reasonable Ralph turns into the assigned pioneer of a group of
military children who crash in the sea and wind up on a rich island. Initially, the gathering began

Early Renaissance Vs. Renaissance Architecture
Early Renaissance architecture began in the early years from 1400 1500. During this era, classicism
played a huge role in architectural ideas as well as religious, secularization, and humanist
influences. This differed architecture from that time period to later mannerist architecture.
Mannerism derived from late renaissancearchitecture and continued through the early Baroque era
in the years 1520 1600. The influences that changed the views on early architecture were the Sack
of Rome, the Copernican model of the universe, and the Protestant Reformation. The view in
architecture during these two time periods were quite different yet contained similarities due to the
emerging work that was inspired from early renaissance and into later mannerism.
The spirit of their revolutionary painting, sculpture, and architecture arose from the new
Renaissance worldview of humanism (and its accompanying condition of secularization), which
celebrated rationality and individuality and mankind s ability to make an act upon empirical
observations of the physical world. Humanist scholars and artists recovered Classical Greek and
Roman texts, including Vitruvius s De architectura, and aspired to create a modern world rivaling
that of the ancients. (pg. 287)
Early Renaissance means rebirth, in this case rebirth of Greek and Roman culture. The traditional
views of the Renaissance emerged as a result of the fall of Constantinople in 1453. If the fall of
Constantinople would not have occurred,

  • 2. Isaac Sherrill Biography One day a miracle happened, I, Isaac Sherrill, was born! I was born on March 9, 2003. A long time ago, I know. I thought I would write an autobiography so I could tell people about myself, but also to entertain a little. I was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana and I was the first child of my family. When I was one we moved to Arizona for a year. Then when we moved back to Indiana my sister was born, and now I have three brothers and three sisters. My life has taken taken some twists and turns and now I live in Grand Rapids, Michigan as a manager of agents for artists, performers and athletes. When I was two we moved to Council Bluffs, Iowa where my dad took a job as a pastor. When I was going to preschool one of my friends was Jonah ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I got a lot of recognition working there because people knew who I was from playing basketball. I made about $15,000 working out there which fortunately was enough to get by. My college experience was amazing and I m thankful for my time there. I was seen as a smart, young, athletic coming out of college and with some convincing I got a position managing agents of athletes, performers, and artists. I made $120,000 with that job which was great especially because this was my first big job. Through the years I have been working my way up the ranks. I hope that one day I will be able to do something big like being the CEO of Nike or something like that as I said earlier. I live in Grand Rapids, MI because I have always loved the city, but most of all, all the opportunities it offers for me and my family. I bought a very nice house straight off after college which I reside in to this day. I also drive a nice Range Rover Evoque which had been my dream car since I was a little boy. But I most enjoy having season tickets to the MSU basketball season, the very college I graduated from. Looking back on my life I thank God for everything he has blessed me with. In the future I hope to be able to impact people s lives in a big way such as possibly opening a hospital or something like that (obviously that s a ways down the road). But in the meantime I ll be out here in Grand Rapids, MI devoting my life to God ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Dental School Experience 1. One of the factors that I considered when looking into dental schools was the ability to establish a strong foundational knowledge that will allow students to excel in their respective fields. When looking at Boston University, I found that by offering a rigorous course load, GSDM was able to produce some of the most renown dentists in the country. Secondly, the combination of their amazing professors and a state of the art clinic which allow students to practice their skills on patients was one of the most enticing factors that drew me to this university. Thirdly, the CAGS graduate study program for specialties was one of the main factors that caught my eyes. Since I am looking to attend a graduate program, seeing that Boston University... I would be a valuable asset to the classroom because I am a firm believer that having a good work ethic, an open mind, and a caring personality will lead one far in life. Having a fondness for challenging tasks, I would be able to help figure out complicated equations or problems by bringing in different perspectives. While I do enjoy working alone, I also enjoy working with groups. I was reminded by my college professors that I teach as I learn, as in I always strive to help those around me grow and develop with me. Studying by oneself is an important skill to have, but communicating and working with classmates is even more important. Using my interpersonal skills, I believe that I would be able to connect students to work together. Finally, I can bring a sense of humor to the classroom. I know that dental school is a place of focus, but I believe that having a balance of humor and focus is crucial to prevent students from being stressed. During stressful times, many people burn out, but when humor is incorporated within a classroom environment, not only will the students benefit, but the professors will benefit as well. I would contribute to the school by integrating myself within one of the schools organized groups, such as the American Student Dental Association or the Asian Dental Student Organization. Being a natural leader, I would integrate myself within one of these organizations and run for positions within the organization so that I can make a lasting impact on ... • 4. Amazing Grace Kozol Summary In an excerpt from the book Amazing Grace:The Lives of Children and the Conscience of a Nation, by Jonathan Kozol, he talks about people in the South Bronx, one of the most dangerous and diseased cities in the west, which creates terrible living conditions. Kozol walks around the city with a seven year old named Cliffie, who guides him and talks about certain places, sometimes making things up, like how the incinerator burns bodies. After he walks around the city, Kozol talks with Cliffie s motherin St. Ann s Church about the issues and the better things in the community. The excerpt ends with Pastor Martha Overall who talks about how one of the founders of the United States, Governor Morris, is buried beside his wife in the churchyard.... St. Ann s church is a place of peace, where people can hide from the outside terrors on the South Bronx, which shows that the South Bronx has a good place, even though the community is sometimes dangerous. The addicted people at the Children s Park can t stop doing drugs. Even though they are bad, volunteers gave out clean needles, so the people doing them won t get sick from other people, which shows even though drugs are bad, at least people are making them safer. The dump attracts illegal dumpers, which makes the city become trashy, but Cliffie s mother found some nice chairs, which she took for her family to use. Cliffie saw many terrible things, but he dreams about his mother and thinks about her, which keeps him going through the bad living conditions he has to deal with. There are many terrors on the streets of the South Bronx, but the St. Ann s church provides a safe place for people to feel protected from the dangers. Many people in the South Bronx are addicted to drugs, which isn t good for them, but volunteers give them clean needles to use, so they won t contract diseases from needles that more than one person has used. The largest part of the market s recent growth (from 2005 to the present) is undeniably due in part to the video game console created by Microsoft called the Xbox 360. Microsoft was the first company to release what is called the current generation console, and successfully beat Sony out of the gate. A Report On The Resin Based Adhesives Summary The Aracuo mill in Sault Ste Marie manufactures a range of medium density fibreboard (MDF) composite panels as well as a wide selection of thermally fused laminates (Arauco, 2016). The resin based adhesives used in the manufacturing process of these materials create a source for airborne formaldehyde in the workplace. This presents a substantial health concern for workers in the Sault Ste. Marie Facility. Subsequently, routine air sampling is conducted to ensure safe working conditions. At present the Arauco Sault Ste. Marie facility maintains an air sampling program using the NIOSH 2016, Issue 2 method. While the current program is cost effective it has numerous limitations, such as limited sampling locations and infrequent collection of data. It is recommended that the Arauco Sault Ste. Marie facility consider implementing a more comprehensive air sampling program. While this would likely increase program costs, changes to the air sampling approach would remove sampler error, greatly increase the quantity of data collected, and extend sampling locations throughout the facility. Implementation of some or all of these recommendations would greatly increase the comprehensiveness of the air sampling program. 1.0 Introduction Arauco manufactures a range of sustainable wood products including the industry s most comprehensive selection of composite panels, premium plywood, millwork, lumber, and wood pulp (Arauco, 2016). The fact that we can see one side of his face could mean that John is trying to conceal his identity as the former cat burglar. Hitchcock could have manipulated the shadows to highlight John s dual identity. The only reason I can think of for why Francie s shots are not covered in as many shadows is that Hitchcock wanted to emphasize her beauty to the audience and to John. All these properties and dispositions a watch personifies show it is a creation and not just a naturally occurring object. The same is said about the human eye through analogy. This is the reason William Paleychose to use the watch as well as the human eye to highlight his argument for design in his work Natural Theology, (1802). • 28. Grignard Corey-Seebach Reactions Lab Report Carbon Carbon bonding reactions in chemistry are important because they allow the diversity and generation of larger molecules. Aldol additions and Grignard reactions are few of many well understood methods for generating carbon bonds bonds.1 The products of aldol additions are formed from ketone and aldehydegroups under acid or basic conditions. Catalyzed by these conditions the ketones undergo tautomerization between keto enol forms, the enolate reacting with a neighboring aldehyde. The new bond is created between the alpha carbon of ketone and electrophilic center of the aldehyde by electrophilic addition. With Grignard reactions, an organomagnesium carbanion reacts with another electron withdrawing group such as a carbanion. Because Grignard... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Frodo s magic ring represents the unsustainability of the environment, and the characters of Middle Earth. In The Lord of the Rings, Tolkien uses the magic ring to reflect the politics of sustainability, by drawing from his own life experiences. Two philosophers, Scruton and Hart write their recipes for sustainability. Scruton believes that finding the right balance between beauty and piety can result in a love of place and sustainability. Hart writes about anarcho monarchism and states that finding the balance between anarchy, monarchism, and dictatorship, can lead to a sustainable culture. In... War is unstable, both for people physically and mentally, and for the environment. Once a war is started, environmental sustainability is not a big priority. Destroying the enemy is the purpose of war, but even when we use precise weapons, additional damage also occurs. This unintentional damage can destroy ecosystems, and disregards the importance of protecting recourses. To be sustainable, humans must stop destroying the natural systems. (Cairns, 2) Frodo s magic ring symbolizes unsustainability. The ring caused war and brought out the greed for power in individuals. Obtaining an object such as the ring causes isolation of the carrier, and the feelings of desire and temptation are overwhelming (Carpenter, 431). Anarcho monarchists believe societies should have a person to represent the culture of the community as a whole. Their job does not include possessing more authority than others; the representative would have no power. Other members of the community would owe the representative nothing. David Hart related this idea of a powerless ruler, to the king piece in a game of chess. • 31. Socrates And His Views Of Justice Joshua Ayen PHIL100H Dr. Gottlieb 10/8/14 Socrates and His Views of Justice In Plato s The Republic, there are several accounts of justice that are presented throughout the dialogue, especially in Book I. One of these accounts is presented by Socrates, in which he believes that justice is not harming anyone under any circumstances. Socrates first presents this argument when he questions if it is just to treat anyone badly (335b). Polemarchus, based on his account of justice in which justice is treating friends well and harming enemies (332d) believes that it is okay to hurt people (335b). Socrates then brings up examples of what happens when a horse, dog, and person are treated poorly (335b c). In all these cases, Socrates points out that it worsens them. Afterwards, when taking into account that justice is a human excellence, (335c) Socrates says that members of the human race who are treated badly must necessarily become more unjust. Therefore, based on that reasoning, Socrates presents a fundamentally valid argument. In theory, Socrates s claim that it is not just to treat anyone badly under any circumstances is sound because not one person or creature deserves bad treatment, no matter the past unjust actions or decisions that person/creature has done in the past. However, it is difficult to put it into practice because of emotion. To defend this argument made by Socrates, I will go more in depth about two points that were brought about him: If it really is just ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Secondly, there is a rising concern from independent stores that national chain stores would discount Canada Goose products causing their sales to drop. This offer restricts Canada Goose s flexibility in terms of choosing a distribution partner, but simplifies the distribution process. Recommendations Pursue both initial opportunities with the women s closing product line for Asmuns Place and with the men s product line for Levene s Menswear. It will provide the ability to bring newer products to market, and not restrict the distribution of products to a single national chain store. Canada Goose should define the conditions under which Asmuns Place or any other retail chain will feature its products in store advertisements. It also needs to assure its original distribution partners that they will be able to maintain their existing brand prestige and pricing throughout all their stores in Canada. In his preliminary cash budget, Barnes has assumed that all sales are collected and, thus, that SKI has no bad debts. Is this realistic? If not, how would bad debts be dealt with in a cash budgeting sense? (Hint: Bad debts will affect collections but not purchases.) No, it is not realistic to assume zero bad debts. In almost all situations there are bad debts. When credit is granted, bad debts should be expected. Collections in each month would be lowered by the percentage of bad debts. Payments would be unchanged, so the result would be that loan balances would be larger and cash surplus balances would be smaller by the difference in the collection amounts. Barnes cash budget for the entire year, although not given here, is based heavily on his forecast for monthly sales. Sales are expected to be extremely low between May and September but then increase dramatically in the fall and winter. November is typically the firm s best month, when SKI ships equipment to retailers for the holiday season. The most interesting readings for me was The Presentation of Self in Everyday Life by Erving Goffman. In this piece, Goffman discusses the dramaturgical theory of social interaction, which is the view that we put on a social facade in our daily lives, as if we are all actors in a theatrical performance. There are two main points that really stood out to me. First was impression management, more specifically, the (mis)alignment of expressions given and expressions given off. This is so common in everyday life. One of our goals as life actors is confirming that others are making a good impression, but we often struggle to convey that because of a misalignment in our explicit verbal cues ... • 44. Early Renaissance Vs. Renaissance Architecture Early Renaissance architecture began in the early years from 1400 1500. During this era, classicism played a huge role in architectural ideas as well as religious, secularization, and humanist influences. This differed architecture from that time period to later mannerist architecture. Mannerism derived from late renaissancearchitecture and continued through the early Baroque era in the years 1520 1600. The influences that changed the views on early architecture were the Sack of Rome, the Copernican model of the universe, and the Protestant Reformation. The view in architecture during these two time periods were quite different yet contained similarities due to the emerging work that was inspired from early renaissance and into later mannerism. The spirit of their revolutionary painting, sculpture, and architecture arose from the new Renaissance worldview of humanism (and its accompanying condition of secularization), which celebrated rationality and individuality and mankind s ability to make an act upon empirical observations of the physical world. Humanist scholars and artists recovered Classical Greek and Roman texts, including Vitruvius s De architectura, and aspired to create a modern world rivaling that of the ancients.
