The White Crucifixion By Marc Chagall
In 1938, Marc Chagall painted the first portrait of his crucifixion series. The White Crucifixion was
developed from his own life experiences and combined both traditional and new customs to further
showcase the interrelation between the disheveled state of humanity that has continued to exist. This
painting has stirred a lot of controversy over the years because of Chagall s sudden change in themes.
Previously, Chagall focused on creating artworks centered on Jewish representations, but switched to
depicting a Christian subject. The White Crucifixion leaves little doubt of Jesus s identity as a Jew and
further argues the interrelationship between Judaism and Christianity. To begin, when viewers first
look at the painting their eyes are drawn to the center of the image, where Jesus hangs on the cross. A
light beam pours down on Jesus from above and we can see Jesus is depicted much differently than in
many other crucifixion portrayals. Here Jesus is wearing a head cloth instead of a crown of thorns, a
loincloth rather than traditional garments, and also has a beard. From these details, we can clearly note
that Chagall is presenting Jesus as a Jew because much of the clothing parallels Jewish ritual
garments. Moreover, the people above Jesus seem to be mourning His death, but are also wearing
Jewish traditional clothing, such as the caps/shawls on their heads. A menorah can be seen at the
bottom by Christ s feet and is the only object with a halo around it other than the

Factors Influencing The Factor Analysis
Factor analysis According to Maria Eva, the factor analysis is a technique in the statistics to observe
variability in the correlated variables in terms of lowers number of unobserved variables, which is
necessary for factorization (Maria Eva, 2012). Dehak, Kenn, Dehak, Dumouchel, Ouellet, further
stated that, the factor analysis is useful technique to investigate the relationship between the variables
in complex concepts and the main purpose of the factor analysis is to reduce the number of variables
associated with the measure and to detect the structures of the relationship between the variables
(Dehak, Kenn, Dehak, Dumouchel, Ouellet, 2011) .
The application of factor analysis widely used in social research (Steinfeld, Navon, Creech, Yakhini,
Tsalenko, 2014). The current study employs factor analysis to reduce the items in the questionnaire for
data reduction as per the recommendations of In addition, the factor analysis is used to construct the
factor based on the items in the scale (Wang Ahmed, 2004). Hence, the factor analysis is used for data
reduction and structuring the variables. Factor analysis has two types as discussed below, exploratory
and confirmatory factor analysis (Costello Osborne, 2005).
Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) Costello Osborne, (2005) said that, factor analysis is used to
uncover the structure of relatively large set of variables in the data(Costello Osborne, 2005). EFA
identifies the underlying relationship between the

Egg Drop Challenge Research Paper
You are twenty five feet or approximately seven meters in the air, plummeting to a concrete ground.
Your only protection is the vehicle in which you are sitting in. You will not survive based on luck, but
rather science. The Egg Drop Challenge is an Engineering Design Challenge, which will be using the
concepts of Force, Momentum, Gravity, and Energy. In partners of two we must create a vehicle that
can minimize the force of impact from a high drop while protecting the egg inside. Nevertheless, these
goals do not come without constraints. Not only must we complete this project in exactly nine days,
but we must also stick to the rules given. Such rules include; only using the materials allotted, and the
vehicle built cannot exceed the width or height of 60 centimeters. With these constraints given, the
participants in the challenge must make sure that their goals can still be met. Like stated in the
introduction, this challenge will not be completed by using plain ... Show more content on

The first product was a phone case. While when shopping, people tend to pick cases partly on how
they look, though we also check how protective they are. This is because we want to make sure that
our phones will be safe incase of an impact. The main protection put in place, is the system in a secure
phone case, that allows it to absorb the energy from the crash. There are energy absorbing systems in
the sides of the phone case, which will keep the actual phone from harm. The second product that
faces similar would be a car. The main protection system in a car would be the crush zone. This is a
system in the front of the car, which upon collision will scrunch up, and absorb energy similar to the
phone case. With these two products in mind, we are able to create a better vehicle that will increase

Exceptions Under The Exclusionary Rule
In criminal justice the exclusionary rule prohibits the use of illegally seized evidence or evidence that
violates the offenders rights under the fourth, fifth, or sixth amendment. There are three exceptions
under the exclusionary rule, fruit of the poisoned tree , inevitable discovery exception, and the good
faith exception. These three exceptions each allow evidence that can be considered illegally obtained
to be admissible in a court of law, given it fits in certain constraints.
Fruit of the poisoned tree is a term for any verbal or physical evidence obtained by using illegally
obtained evidence. The basis of the fruit of the poisoned tree concept is that like a poisoned tree would
bear poisonous fruit, evidence that is obtained because of illegally obtained evidence is also therefore
illegally obtained. This concept could be considered tier one under the exclusionary rule. The
exclusionary rule and its counterparts were first applied in courts in 1914. The idea of the exclusionary
rule is to maintain proper police procedure. If police officers present legally obtained evidence, they
have a higher chance of getting the offender convicted. This works as a rewards system. ... Show more

Elementary. This not only created a safer and more modern update for the young students in our
community, but helped to create more employment in the downturn of the economy, stated Chouinard.
Groundbreaking of the new Parkland Lodge was another innovation for the betterment of Edson s
senior citizens. The new lodge will be more modern and comfortable for Edson seniors with a
projected 102 room capacity. Seniors will be able to enjoy privacy by occupying their own room,
unless sharing with a spouse. Completion of the senior s lodge is being planned for July, 2018.
Through tightening of the budget, Edson residents were able to enjoy no increase of their 2017
property taxes. This was accomplished by streamlining and cutting costs while still maintaining a fully
operational budget.
Lobbying for the certification of the Town of Edson airport was another initiative Chouinard helped to
implement. Future planning could one day see Edson on the map as a functional airport for Edson and
surrounding areas. Business transport will also increase the town s viability for tourism to maintain its
prosperity, said Chouinard.
Chouinard was asked of his long term goals running in this election, and if elected, what would those
goals be? His reply was that he would be working towards a safer

Why Mitochondria And The Cell With Versatile Operating...
Abstract:
Although mitochondria and chloroplasts encodes handful of their own proteins, however, majority of
their required proteins have to be synthesized in the cytosol and translocated into their correct
destinations using specialized transporting networks: TOM/TIM complexes in mitochondria and
TOC/TIC complexes in chloroplasts. Molecular chaperones play critical roles in facilitating functional
competent protein import from the cytosol to their correct destinations, utilizing catalytic motor
components and other transporting channels. Biogenesis of both mitochondria and chloroplasts and
their maintenances in terms of transcription, translation and protein import into their various numerous
compartments requires very tight coordination to overcome energetic barriers, protein aggregation and
protein degradation. This essay describes molecular chaperones involvement in protein import from
the cytosol into these double membraned organelle compartments.
Introduction:
Mitochondria are the powerhouse of the cell with versatile operating systems (i.e. converts energy
derived from foods into cellular energy e.g. ATP, Amino Acid and lipid metabolisms, iron sulphur
clusters and haem biosynthesis, and also the regulation of apoptosis) (Harbauer et al., 2014, Bolender
et al., 2008, Wiedemann et al., 2004). Equally, chloroplasts are also very versatile and operates several
metabolic and cellular processes (i.e. photosynthesis, amino acid and lipid metabolism, cellular

My Problem with Procrastination
Upon further review, it appears that what I thought was a problem is more of an issue. As well as I
needed to add a problem to my previous essay, so I would like to list a problem I have with
procrastination. I seem to be dealing with increased instances where I have waited to the last minute to
complete homework or a work project. Investigating my problem of procrastination, I will consider
the pros and cons of not getting my schoolwork completed, in a timely manner. The pros outweigh the
cons by a long shot. It is never a good idea to waste time and then rush through just to complete an
assignment. I will work out the details of my problem by setting aside a certain time every day to
work on my schoolwork. I will also invest in using my dayplanner daily to make sure I am meeting
my daily goals and weekly goals. I Googled free .pdf printables for increased organizational inserts for
my planner. I downloaded printed and added pages for meal planning, project planning, and
homework to my planner. Adding more tools to keep me on track will ensure that I am getting what I
need done, and when it needs to be done. This will also help take some of the pressure of me. Waiting
until the last minute to get my schoolwork done adds pressure and I have to scramble on my work late
at night to get it turned in on time. As I stated in our previous assignment my issue is with my
relationship. I was thinking of a way I can conduct the research necessary to solve the problem and

The Medical Field Is Always Advancing. Research Is Providing
The medical field is always advancing. Research is providing new means of improvement and brand
new technology. The technology is then used to help patients recover and prevent diseases. Research
and Development teams spend their entire careers testing and building new innovations to help the
field progress. Luckily, a new modern technology has been developed. What is this technology? The
3D printer. 3D printers are surprisingly older than people think. They first started in the late 1980 s
and have rapidly progressed. Now the 3D printer has various applications in many fields such as
business, technology, medical field, etc.

The study found that the students that used the 3D printed model had a richer learning experience. The
technology allows the medical students to better learn the different physical structures and organs. It
also always them to practice different medical procedures and operations. Indeed, the technology will
help effectively train more capable doctors.
Another application is the ability to print models of patient s organs and specifically plan the surgery.
For instance, surgeons used an MRI to scan a patient s brain and print an exact replica. A surgery was
needed to remove a tumor. The surgeons could see the depth of the tumor and specific details. This
technology allows them to plan and practice the surgical procedures for each patient s case. (see image
above) The 3D printing technology has improved how doctors can plan and practice to be able to
perform precise procedures.
Also, the 3D printing technology provides medical schools with a less expensive alternative to using
cadavers. Cadaver are difficult to acquire, store, and need to be disposed of at certain times. High
quality 3D printers are a little pricy, but are more cost effective. This is due to the availability of
digital files of different models of organs online. With the rising demand of 3D printers, the price is
going down and becoming even more affordable for medical schools. This is another way medical
field is adapting to the 3D

In our lecture for this unit, the speaker lays out several helpful guidlines for interpreting works written
in the genre of historical narrative. The final point on this topic (#6) was: Lean on the experts
The lecturer made the case that by reading and studying the interpretations of experienced interpreters,
we could grow as interpreters ourselves. While I have absolutely no problem with consulting the
commentaries, books, and teachings of spiritually minded individuals to help us become better readers
of God s word, I think that it is also possible for someone to lean on these resources too much.

Do Not Assume Who I Am By My Appearance Essay
Do Not Assume Who I Am By My Appearance Nowadays, stereotypes seem to be the way we justify
and categorize society. It can also be said that stereotypes are one way in which we define the world in
order to see it. Because, if the world isn t defined, then how can we as people, grasp the concept of it?
How do we justify our action, and those of others? People often, prejudge others or objects by
grouping them into categories or styles they are familiar with, and then treat them by their experiences
or just follow what other people usually do, without questioning their actions and motives. That causes
miscommunication, argument or losing opportunities to broaden the life experience. Stereotypes are
usually formed based on an individual s appearance, race, and gender that would put labels on people.
The appearance of a person in general is one of the most important causes of stereotypes. People
usually tend to stereotype a person from what they see and think. In Brent Staples Just Walk On By: A
Black Man Ponders His Power to Alter Public Space, he experienced a certain stereotype from a white
woman because of his appearance. He explained, To her, the youngish black man a broad six feet two
inches with a bread and billowing hair, both hands shoved into the pockets of a bulky military jacket
seemed menacing close (Staples 394). That white woman labeled Staples as a dangerous person who
might hurt her, so she ran away as soon as she could. In other words, people

Matthew Shepard Case Study
Introduction
Twenty one year old, University of Wyoming college gay student, Matthew Shepard, was found tied to
a fence on the Wyoming prairie, barely alive, his skull fractured and his brain stem crushed On
October 7th, 1998. Comatose, he was taken first to a Laramie hospital, then to a better equipped one in
Fort Collins, Colo., where he died five days later. Two Laramie men, Russell Henderson (21 years old)
and Aaron McKinney (22 years old), were convicted of murder and serving for two life sentencing.
Issues
1. Aaron James McKinney seemed to believe that his allegation that Shepard had made a pass at him
was sufficient grounds to justify joining with friend Russell Henderson in savagely beating Shepard,
clubbing him with a handgun, lashing him to a wooden fence and leaving him to die. McKinney s
attorney wanted the jury to accept that because McKinney has a homosexual encounter when he was
younger and that he was under the influence of both drugs and alcohol when he alleges Shepard made
a pass at him, that he was therefore not responsible for his actions.
2. Matthew Shepard Murdered By Bisexual Lover And Drug Dealer, not hate crime, Stephen Jimenez

Censorship Is Monitoring Or Withholding Information Essay
Censorship is monitoring or withholding information. The information can come from a book, drama,
media, or any other form of entertainment; but it is usually considered a threat to the consumer. Yet the
consumer is not always the audience. Sometimes the threat is to a politician or government official.
The debate over topics in the realm of what is acceptable and what should be banned only continues to
rise as more taboo topics become acceptable. Some argue that keeping certain things behind closed
doors is imperative for a harmonious living place. Others say that a small discourse is critical to
remain sane. Censorship is a way of protecting society from itself. Leaders and parental figures can
make the choice to monitor what is read, watched, and consumed, but until the world lives the life
worthy of a children s book the effort is futile. While the narrative being taught may be inappropriate
or harsher it doesn t decrease the value of it.
Arguments are shown throughout everyday life over every topic. The question isn t, When will society
stop fighting the norm? The question is, When will society stop fighting change? The world evolves
with every second. With that evolution society blurs the line with what is acceptable and not. Sixty
years ago the idea of two boys kissing was the equivalent of burning a baby in church on a Sunday
morning. Today, two men kissing is celebrated with its own parade. Social norms and ideals have been
ripping down the cloak of

CAN MUSCLE WEAKNESS LEAD TO PARALYSIS
At some point of time most of us observe tiredness and reduced power leading to fatigue. This
common complaint can be regarded as muscle weakness which is commonly heard of. But the word

Mckinsey And Its Secret Influence On American Business Essay
McKinsey consultants suggest that firms need to change with changing industry conditions and that
often firms needs to choose between protecting what they have built versus letting them go to make
room to focus on new business opportunities (McDonald, Duff (September 10, 2013). The Firm: The
Story of McKinsey and its Secret Influence on American Business. Simon Schuster). McKinsey s
further supports this position with their three horizons model that replaces core businesses in decline
with new growth options (McGrath; Ian MacMillan (March 16, 2009). Discovery Driven Growth: A
Breakthrough Process to Reduce Risk and Seize Opportunity. Harvard Business Review Press. p.
198). At the product level, we see products transitioning through different stages of their lifecycle.
Products move from introduction to growth and maturity stages, eventually passing into
commoditization and ultimately falling into decline. Each stage of the product life cycle requires
differing strategies to achieve successful product commercialization. Rangan and Bowman make a
distinction in that although products are called commodities, it is the relationship between the product
and the market that should be characterized as commoditization. Changing market dynamics signal a
shift towards commoditization. Customer reluctance to pay for product or service, pressure on price,
low customer loyalty, buyer s perception of little differentiation amongst suppliers, price as the only
selection criteria, are some

are things that one looks forward to. Things like learning how to drive, getting into university, finding

Overall, this new law does reflect the values of society and addresses the changing concerns over safe
driving in the era of smartphones, although driver reactions were mixed. To accurately measure usage
and the societal mood on this issue, the National Road Safety Council (NRSC) conducted a series of
five surveys before the law was introduced. The last four surveys (2008 2011) included a question
measuring community attitudes in relation to the (then hypothetical) introduction of a new law
banning the use of hands free mobile phones while driving. This hypothetical law attracted 39%
community support. This was largely because: People clearly believed that their chances of having an

Disadvantages Of Softball And Baseball
For ages people have long debated the difficulties of softball and baseball. They try to compare the
two sports as the female and male respondents to each other. Softball is usually seen the sport young
girls play that don t want to dance. When people hear the word baseball, they automatically think of
major league players who make millions and never make an error. Although softball and baseball are
similar in style and play, softball is more of a challenge to succeed in. Softball and baseball each have
advantages and disadvantages when it comes to the size of the field. From home plate to first base in
softball it is sixty feet and in baseball it is ninety feet. With the softball field being smaller, the fielders
are closer together than in baseball. This means that as a batter it s harder to get a hit by the fielders
and get an infield hit. Bunting is also incredibly difficult to do in softball. Dropping the bunt down,

identities in order to satisfy the different labels that have been added to acknowledge the unique
features of those within the realm of homosexuality. It expresses the many different ways people
define homosexuality before stating the author s stance on the issue. The author goes more in depth
when she mentions the Civil Rights movement and how we had to give people equal opportunities

Essay On The Middle Passage
There are not very many detailed accounts from people who have experienced the Middle Passage
firsthand. One of those is the autobiography The Interesting Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equiano
(1789) written by Olaudah Equiano. In this chilling book, he describes the awful conditions he was
faced with while on a ship across the Atlantic as a slave from West Africa to the West Indies, known as
the Middle Passage. The Middle Passage was a horrible way to transport slaves and there was no
regard for human life on these ships. Millions of West Africans experienced these horrors for more
than three hundred years (1500 1860) (Berlin 1). It has also been estimated by Curtin, a historian, that
of those 20 to 30 million Africans only 9 to 12 million survived the voyage (Guillaume 1). This

Although not all of them agreed, it took quite some time for anyone to speak out. Around the 1830s,
abolitionists came out to the public, at least in the North. As Guillaume describes the slave trade: It is
a phenomenon that forever changed life on both sides of the Atlantic. It established the socio
economic and cultural foundations for what would become the United States, and it continues to
determine how we value or disdain African Americans and other people in this hemisphere (Guillaume

rough work none of them wanted to do. Like working on sugar, tobacco, cotton plantations, and many
other types of hard labor, the kind people think of immigrants doing in America to this day. They also
helped in the process of mining gold and silver but reaped none of the benefits. This also helped

Gdp Per Capita As An Indicator Of Standard Of Living
GDP per Capita As an indicator of standard of living GDP per capita is the market value of the final
goods and services produced in a country during a given period per person (McDowell et al. 2012).
This could also be explained as a measure of quantity of goods and services available to a typical
resident of the country at a particular period. GDP per capita is used as an indicator of standard of
living because it reflects the accessibility of goods and services to a person. GPD counts only the
goods and services that have market value but they are just one of the measures of standard of living.
There are many other factors that affects standard of living and do not contribute to GDP, e.g.
environmental quality and leisure time (McDowell et al. 2012). China has been facing serious
ecological problem (e.g. water and air quality) while its economic grows. Nonetheless, environmental
quality cannot be bought or sold in the market, the issue is not demonstrated in China s GDP. Other
than that, leisure time available to a person can affect his standard of living. The person is better off if
he can enjoy more leisure activity. But leisure time is not priced in market, and it does not give a rise
in GDP. Another problem of using GDP per capita is that it neglects purchasing power. Table 1 Real

Red Embers During World War II, gifted codebreakers in Hut 8, a division in the Government Code

years and saving approximately 14 million lives (Cashill). The decisions that the codebreakers made
were cold, logical, and difficult to make, but the amount of lives they saved was well worth the effort.
Normal people also face tough decisions in their lives, one of them being stepping in or standing on

Relationship Between Monetary Policy And The Stock Market
1. Introduction
In the past 20 years, the central banks in most developed countries had successfully managed to
control the inflation rate. However, the financial crisis 2008 has highlighted the links between
financial market and policy. (Ravn, 2011) The topic I am going to discuss is the relationship between
monetary policy and the stock market. What factors have influenced interest rate and how the
policymakers should react to the change in stock market have driven the increasing attentions lately.
Taylor Rule (2003) will be the core theory used to discuss the model tested. The interpretation of
simple Taylor rule is very straightforward. According to the equationi_t=c+β(π_t π_t^* )+γ(y_t y_t^*
)+ε_t , the policy will be mainly affected by inflation gap and output gap. (Woodford, 2001) The
reason why Taylor uses interest rate to represent monetary policy is that the central bank likes to
adjust interest rate as a tool to maintain the balance in the market. While, there is a strong debate about
the other variables, in particular, stock price volatility. After taking asset price volatility into account,
the augmented Taylor rule equation will be reformulated as:i_t=c+β(π_t π_t^* )+γ(y_t y_t^*
)+∑_(k=1)^n▒〖δ_k s_(t k)+ε_t 〗. It will influence the monetary policy while the importance of
asset price in the market is very controversial. Scholars including Bernanke and Gertler question the
importance of asset price in determining the monetary policy and claim that the influence

The Domestication of Animals Was the Percursor to Genetic...
The domestication of animals 30,000 years ago was the precursor to Genetic Engineering. Starting
with the dog we have since been able to introduce desirable traits in all organisms. With the discovery
of plasmids in the late 60 s we have been able to take genetic engineering even further. Plasmids are
small circular DNA molecules used to amplify and replicate a gene of interest. These minute
molecules have the ability to replicate with the chromosome or independently, allowing them to have
up to a 100 copies in one cell. Plasmids are important because of their characteristics to transfer genes
that occur naturally within them or acting as a vector to introduce foreign DNA into a host cell. With
the use of plasmids genetic engineers are able to use bacterial transformation to make medicines.
Bacterial transformation is the process in which a bacterial cell takes up foreign DNA and incorporates
this DNA into its own. With the use bacterial transformation this part of Genetic Engineering has
become the most important and widely used technique, creating life saving antibiotics and medicines.
E.coli is generally used in these procedures because of its ability to adapt and grow exponentially.
Genetic Engineers can then use large bacterial colonies, Ampicillin, and X gal to indicate if b
glactosidase is present along with identifying the recombinant and non recombinant colonies. The
transformed bacteria that contains ampicillin will spread and survive either turning white

William Shakespeare s The Restoration Period
Throughout history there have different styles of comedy that inherit different aspects of society
during that time. During the Restoration period, there is one author who stands out from the rest and is
known as the father of comedy of manners and that author is Molliere. One of his most notable pieces
of work was the Misanthrope; thats core principles are based on the comedy of manners. The
fundamentals of the comedy of manners often have a multiple consistencies that are true to most plays
written during that time. It s sole purpose is to get a satirical perspective at the life, manners and social
aspect of the upper class and aristocrats. Itt is considered high comedy due to the fact that it creates a
critical perspective of the life of the upper classes, unlike low comedy which serves no other purpose
than to create laughter. Plays which use comedy of manners often poke fun at the character s outlooks
on life, their manners toward each other and their view toward lower social classes. In general the
characters of plays/books during this time have very generic roles such as the fool, hypocrite, the
jealous lover, ect... Additionally the plots of these plays usually are surrounding a complicated love
situation that puts a few characters in conflict with each other. These principles are true to plays
written during that time, especially Moliere s Misanthrope which represent the core beliefs of the
comedy of manners. The main characters in the Misanthrope embody the main

Analysis Of Nick Carraway In The Great Gatsby
In the novel The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald Nick Carraway, at first seems like a big and
important part of the novel but once we meet Jay Gatsby that changes. Nick takes a back seat to be the
narrator for Gatsby s story. As a narrator Nick is the most effective choice for The Great Gatsby. This
is proven by his willingness to withhold judgment. his relationship to each of the main characters.his
outsider status and perceptiveness. In my younger and more vulnerable, years my father gave me some
advice that I ve been turning over in my mind ever since. Whenever you feel like criticizing anyone,
he told me, just remember that all the people in this world haven t had the advantages that you ve had.

looking at the apartment above in wonder as to what it is like to be involved in one of those parties.
Even though he is now inside one of the parties that others may dream about, Nick still feels as if he is
not really one of them. He feels like this throughout the novel, he has rich friends and he goes to
luxurious parties but he never feels like he belongs and he is never treated like he belongs. This
outsider status helps him be a great narrator because it helps him give the reader the insider experience
but also helps keep their distance and not get too attached to that world. If Nick were an insider the
reader would not be shown a fair view of Gatsby s story. The reader would only see the East Egg side
and never explore the West Egg side of life. Having Nick as both within and without gives the
advantage of introducing the reader to certain aspects of New York s elite world, while also being
shocked and skeptical of them as an outsider would

Creating Mood In Sherwood Anderson s Winesburg, Ohio
For any literary intellectual that has explored the world of Sherwood Anderson s Winesburg, Ohio,
having assumed they were in their right mind, would undoubtedly consider the book to be written in a
very depressing mood. Set in small town America, otherwise known as Winesburg, where everyone
knowns about everyone, but nobody knows anyone, Anderson portrays his own, Version of the
dreamer that (he) imagines walking the uncongenial streets of a small Midwestern town (Lindsay 29)
throughout multiple characters within the collection of stories. All of the characters within the stories
are neurotic, made up of strange, lonely and depressed personalities. These characters are repeatedly
misled by lies. They are unsatisfied, frustrated, lonely, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First of all, it s up to the author to use their discretion to give the story whichever mood he so desires,
and if that mood depression then so be it. Second, stories offer examples for readers. Examples are
fantastic learning tools. Anderson uses the tool to encourage his readers on multiple accounts. First
off, he uses the tool in order to offer an example as how to properly deal with ones problems, and how
not to deal with ones problems. In the story titled, Death, just after his mother passed away, George
thinks to himself, I will go to some city. Perhaps I can get a job on some newspaper. (Anderson 139).
In all of the stories we do not find a moment more devastating than this, a son experiencing the loss of
their mother. Yet, George doesn t react by drowning his sorrow for the rest of his life and breathing to
death in the small town of Winesburg. Instead he sees the opportunity to chase his dream of becoming
a writer. He may be more inclined to be optimistic however because his mother is finally free of her
monotonous life as a sick old lady in a boring town, Perhaps Elizabeth s death seems less depressing
to us than the fate of most other citizens of Winesburg because she does escape (Morris 48) but free or
not, it s still the death of his mother. On the other hand, one of the many poor representations of how
to handle one s issues can be seen in the story titled, Thinker. In this story we have a young man who
considers himself more of an acquaintance of George Willard s than a friend. In the story, Seth desires
to connect with anyone, he just wants to have a true friend, or better yet a true lover. There comes a
moment when he has the chance to connect with young lady named Helen, and perhaps lay with her,
but he fails to take advantage of the opportunity, The girl turned and ran away through the hedge. A

The Synoptic Gospels In The Gospel Of Mark
Throughout the centuries, from the time of the Augustine, it has not been uncommon for the Gospel of
Mark to be viewed in a negative light when compared to the other Synoptic Gospels. It has been said
that Luke and Matthew were written in an attempt to cover Mark s deficiencies. At first glance, this is
an understandable viewpoint. To the modern layreader, Mark does seem to flow less evenly and
convey less information than its contemporaries. Therefore, among many, Mark was respected for
being the first Gospel written and for the precious information it conveyed, but certainly not for its
literary elements. This changed in 1982 when Rhoads and Michie released the first edition Mark as
Story, which is an analysis of Mark as a work of literature. This, as Mark Allan Powell stated in the
afterward, was a new and unexpected way of looking at the Gospels that pioneered a wave of literary
analysis in relation to Scripture. Mark as Story is an interdisciplinary approach that views the work
through the lens of a story told using ancient oral tradition and analyzes its characters, plot, setting,
narrator and original audience. When these aspects are viewed in this manner, it reveals that the
Gospel of Mark is, in fact, a literary masterpiece. The authors of the book begin their exploration of
Mark as literature by explaining their reasons for doing so. Mark, the first of the Synoptic Gospels,
made the decision to convey his beliefs to his audience through the medium of

Descriptive Essay On Scrooge
The text explicitly states Scrooge, a squeezing, wrenching, grasping, clutching, covetous, old sinner
has passed away. According to the text, he despises many things such as happiness, humor, and even
Christmas. From the reading, I know that he is depressed all the time, consequently his mental state
has led him to call other people stupid, dumb, and idiots. On page three, in the conversation with his
nephew Fred, Scrooge insults his nephew about marrying and loving his wife. The text states, that he
also seized the ruler with such energy of action, that the singer fled in terror, leaving the keyhole to the
frost and even more congenial frost. From the reading I know that Scrooge isn t a people person and is
very down about life. Based on the text he doesn t really like being around them. For example Scrooge
didn t donate any money to the poor, and blew off his nephew about spending Christmas with them. In
the text it states that there is no wind as bare as Scrooge, this means he doesn t really care or doesn t
have many feelings.
The first ghost came when the clock pounded one. A horrid fusion among a child and an old man the
ghost opens the Scrooge s bed curtains. According to the text the spirit is very vivid and bright. So the
ghost takes Scrooge to his old school. According to the text Scrooge actually starts to laugh for the
first time at the appearance of him reading fantasy books. Consequently he wasn t outdoors, playing
with the other kids. The second place the ghost took Scrooge was where he and his sister were talking
about their father being sent away. From the reading of the first spirit Scrooge really likes the first
spirit for being very generous and thoughtful for taking Scrooge and showing him motivational parts
in his life. The ghost of Christmas past helped Scrooge learn that there is more in life other than being
morose all the time, there is amusement, family, bliss, and ambitious life to live. When Scrooge puts
his hand on the lock he heard an articulation call his name and commanded him to enter. He did as the

giant family wanted Scrooge to stay for supper. Scrooge

During world war two, people thought the fairytale encouraged genocide because of the intense death
in some of Grimm Brothers stories. Bettelheim took a psychological approach in his book The Uses of
Enchantment and believed that fairytales arose from children s subconscious as he sought to
demonstrate fairy tales accurately projected children s psychological needs and neatly describe their
psychosexual desires. (Buttigheimer, Par 17) In contrast, most theorist believed that fairy tales create a
social norm and motifs for children. In modern day, fairytales have more egocentric values. The

Analysis Of Eve Kornfeld s Creating An American Culture...
History is the framework of every nation. It describes what life was like in a nation, hundreds perhaps
thousands of years previously. With history, many citizens are able to examine what lead to a crisis in
a nation such as the Stock Market Crash of 1929 or the Civil War in the 1800s in the United States of
America. Likewise, the moments of growth and economic success are looked at. From these past
endeavors, the people can examine what went wrong and what went right and determine how they can
stop themselves from making similar mistakes or act in a way that has been proven to work. In Eve
Kornfeld s Creating an American Culture 1775 1800, many different areas of national identity are
discussed, including the beginnings of documenting the history of America as an independent nation.
This was especially hard for Americans to create a singular national identity because there was bias in
the early works, the different colonies or states were extremely diverse, and many intellectuals had
different perspectives on the American identity. At the beginning of the historical documentation of
America, many individuals were amateurs and/or biased towards their native state. There were
different sides as to what the American Revolution was about so, If they wished to preserve their
image unsullied by European incursions, Americans would have to develop their own narratives of
nationhood (Kornfeld, 40). This brought a movement of amateur writers creating historical

  • 2. The White Crucifixion By Marc Chagall In 1938, Marc Chagall painted the first portrait of his crucifixion series. The White Crucifixion was developed from his own life experiences and combined both traditional and new customs to further showcase the interrelation between the disheveled state of humanity that has continued to exist. This painting has stirred a lot of controversy over the years because of Chagall s sudden change in themes. Previously, Chagall focused on creating artworks centered on Jewish representations, but switched to depicting a Christian subject. The White Crucifixion leaves little doubt of Jesus s identity as a Jew and further argues the interrelationship between Judaism and Christianity. To begin, when viewers first look at the painting their eyes are drawn to the center of the image, where Jesus hangs on the cross. A light beam pours down on Jesus from above and we can see Jesus is depicted much differently than in many other crucifixion portrayals. Moreover, the people above Jesus seem to be mourning His death, but are also wearing Jewish traditional clothing, such as the caps/shawls on their heads. Factors Influencing The Factor Analysis Factor analysis According to Maria Eva, the factor analysis is a technique in the statistics to observe variability in the correlated variables in terms of lowers number of unobserved variables, which is necessary for factorization (Maria Eva, 2012). Dehak, Kenn, Dehak, Dumouchel, Ouellet, further stated that, the factor analysis is useful technique to investigate the relationship between the variables in complex concepts and the main purpose of the factor analysis is to reduce the number of variables associated with the measure and to detect the structures of the relationship between the variables (Dehak, Kenn, Dehak, Dumouchel, Ouellet, 2011) . The application of factor analysis widely used in social research (Steinfeld, Navon, Creech, Yakhini, Tsalenko, 2014). The current study employs factor analysis to reduce the items in the questionnaire for data reduction as per the recommendations of In addition, the factor analysis is used to construct the factor based on the items in the scale (Wang Ahmed, 2004). Hence, the factor analysis is used for data reduction and structuring the variables. Factor analysis has two types as discussed below, exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis (Costello Osborne, 2005). Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) Costello Osborne, (2005) said that, factor analysis is used to uncover the structure of relatively large set of variables in the data(Costello Osborne, 2005). EFA identifies the underlying relationship between the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Your only protection is the vehicle in which you are sitting in. You will not survive based on luck, but rather science. The Egg Drop Challenge is an Engineering Design Challenge, which will be using the concepts of Force, Momentum, Gravity, and Energy. In partners of two we must create a vehicle that can minimize the force of impact from a high drop while protecting the egg inside. Nevertheless, these goals do not come without constraints. Not only must we complete this project in exactly nine days, but we must also stick to the rules given. Such rules include; only using the materials allotted, and the vehicle built cannot exceed the width or height of 60 centimeters. With these constraints given, the participants in the challenge must make sure that their goals can still be met. Like stated in the introduction, this challenge will not be completed by using plain ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first product was a phone case. While when shopping, people tend to pick cases partly on how they look, though we also check how protective they are. This is because we want to make sure that our phones will be safe incase of an impact. The main protection put in place, is the system in a secure phone case, that allows it to absorb the energy from the crash. There are energy absorbing systems in the sides of the phone case, which will keep the actual phone from harm. The second product that faces similar would be a car. The main protection system in a car would be the crush zone. This is a system in the front of the car, which upon collision will scrunch up, and absorb energy similar to the phone case. There are three exceptions under the exclusionary rule, fruit of the poisoned tree , inevitable discovery exception, and the good faith exception. These three exceptions each allow evidence that can be considered illegally obtained to be admissible in a court of law, given it fits in certain constraints. Fruit of the poisoned tree is a term for any verbal or physical evidence obtained by using illegally obtained evidence. The basis of the fruit of the poisoned tree concept is that like a poisoned tree would bear poisonous fruit, evidence that is obtained because of illegally obtained evidence is also therefore illegally obtained. This concept could be considered tier one under the exclusionary rule. The exclusionary rule and its counterparts were first applied in courts in 1914. The idea of the exclusionary rule is to maintain proper police procedure. If police officers present legally obtained evidence, they have a higher chance of getting the offender convicted. This works as a rewards system. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This exception was put into play after the disappearance of ten year old Pamela Powers. • 7. Why Mitochondria And The Cell With Versatile Operating... Abstract: Although mitochondria and chloroplasts encodes handful of their own proteins, however, majority of their required proteins have to be synthesized in the cytosol and translocated into their correct destinations using specialized transporting networks: TOM/TIM complexes in mitochondria and TOC/TIC complexes in chloroplasts. Molecular chaperones play critical roles in facilitating functional competent protein import from the cytosol to their correct destinations, utilizing catalytic motor components and other transporting channels. Biogenesis of both mitochondria and chloroplasts and their maintenances in terms of transcription, translation and protein import into their various numerous compartments requires very tight coordination to overcome energetic barriers, protein aggregation and protein degradation. This essay describes molecular chaperones involvement in protein import from the cytosol into these double membraned organelle compartments. Introduction: Mitochondria are the powerhouse of the cell with versatile operating systems (i.e. converts energy derived from foods into cellular energy e.g. ATP, Amino Acid and lipid metabolisms, iron sulphur clusters and haem biosynthesis, and also the regulation of apoptosis) (Harbauer et al., 2014, Bolender et al., 2008, Wiedemann et al., 2004). Equally, chloroplasts are also very versatile and operates several metabolic and cellular processes (i.e. photosynthesis, amino acid and lipid metabolism, cellular signalling and ... • 12. Do Not Assume Who I Am By My Appearance Essay Do Not Assume Who I Am By My Appearance Nowadays, stereotypes seem to be the way we justify and categorize society. It can also be said that stereotypes are one way in which we define the world in order to see it. Because, if the world isn t defined, then how can we as people, grasp the concept of it? How do we justify our action, and those of others? People often, prejudge others or objects by grouping them into categories or styles they are familiar with, and then treat them by their experiences or just follow what other people usually do, without questioning their actions and motives. That causes miscommunication, argument or losing opportunities to broaden the life experience. Stereotypes are usually formed based on an individual s appearance, race, and gender that would put labels on people. The appearance of a person in general is one of the most important causes of stereotypes. People usually tend to stereotype a person from what they see and think. In Brent Staples Just Walk On By: A Black Man Ponders His Power to Alter Public Space, he experienced a certain stereotype from a white woman because of his appearance. He explained, To her, the youngish black man a broad six feet two inches with a bread and billowing hair, both hands shoved into the pockets of a bulky military jacket seemed menacing close (Staples 394). The debate over topics in the realm of what is acceptable and what should be banned only continues to rise as more taboo topics become acceptable. Some argue that keeping certain things behind closed doors is imperative for a harmonious living place. Others say that a small discourse is critical to remain sane. • 25. Gdp Per Capita As An Indicator Of Standard Of Living GDP per Capita As an indicator of standard of living GDP per capita is the market value of the final goods and services produced in a country during a given period per person (McDowell et al. 2012). This could also be explained as a measure of quantity of goods and services available to a typical resident of the country at a particular period. GDP per capita is used as an indicator of standard of living because it reflects the accessibility of goods and services to a person. GPD counts only the goods and services that have market value but they are just one of the measures of standard of living. There are many other factors that affects standard of living and do not contribute to GDP, e.g. environmental quality and leisure time (McDowell et al. 2012). China has been facing serious ecological problem (e.g. water and air quality) while its economic grows. Nonetheless, environmental quality cannot be bought or sold in the market, the issue is not demonstrated in China s GDP. Other than that, leisure time available to a person can affect his standard of living. The person is better off if he can enjoy more leisure activity. But leisure time is not priced in market, and it does not give a rise in GDP. Another problem of using GDP per capita is that it neglects purchasing power. Moreover, according to The New York Times article At Japanese Cliffs, a Campaign to Combat Suicide by Martin Fackler, during a patrol, Yukio Shige stopped a man named Yutaka Yamaoka from [committing] suicide... after being laid off. A year later, Yutaka shared that feelings of panic and unease just built up, and he had no one to talk with, until Mr. Shige spotted him, spoke with him for two hours, and offered a month of rent free stay at an apartment. • 27. Relationship Between Monetary Policy And The Stock Market 1. Introduction In the past 20 years, the central banks in most developed countries had successfully managed to control the inflation rate. However, the financial crisis 2008 has highlighted the links between financial market and policy. (Ravn, 2011) The topic I am going to discuss is the relationship between monetary policy and the stock market. What factors have influenced interest rate and how the policymakers should react to the change in stock market have driven the increasing attentions lately. Taylor Rule (2003) will be the core theory used to discuss the model tested. The interpretation of simple Taylor rule is very straightforward. According to the equationi_t=c+β(Ï€_t Ï€_t^* )+γ(y_t y_t^* )+ε_t , the policy will be mainly affected by inflation gap and output gap. (Woodford, 2001) The reason why Taylor uses interest rate to represent monetary policy is that the central bank likes to adjust interest rate as a tool to maintain the balance in the market. While, there is a strong debate about the other variables, in particular, stock price volatility. After taking asset price volatility into account, the augmented Taylor rule equation will be reformulated as:i_t=c+β(Ï€_t Ï€_t^* )+γ(y_t y_t^* )+∑_(k=1)^n▒〖δ_k s_(t k)+ε_t 〗. It will influence the monetary policy while the importance of asset price in the market is very controversial. Scholars including Bernanke and Gertler question the importance of asset price in determining the monetary policy and claim that the influence ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 28. The Domestication of Animals Was the Percursor to Genetic... The domestication of animals 30,000 years ago was the precursor to Genetic Engineering. Starting with the dog we have since been able to introduce desirable traits in all organisms. With the discovery of plasmids in the late 60 s we have been able to take genetic engineering even further. Plasmids are small circular DNA molecules used to amplify and replicate a gene of interest. These minute molecules have the ability to replicate with the chromosome or independently, allowing them to have up to a 100 copies in one cell. Plasmids are important because of their characteristics to transfer genes that occur naturally within them or acting as a vector to introduce foreign DNA into a host cell. With the use of plasmids genetic engineers are able to use bacterial transformation to make medicines. Bacterial transformation is the process in which a bacterial cell takes up foreign DNA and incorporates this DNA into its own. With the use bacterial transformation this part of Genetic Engineering has become the most important and widely used technique, creating life saving antibiotics and medicines. E.coli is generally used in these procedures because of its ability to adapt and grow exponentially. Genetic Engineers can then use large bacterial colonies, Ampicillin, and X gal to indicate if b glactosidase is present along with identifying the recombinant and non recombinant colonies. The transformed bacteria that contains ampicillin will spread and survive either turning white ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

During the Restoration period, there is one author who stands out from the rest and is known as the father of comedy of manners and that author is Molliere. One of his most notable pieces of work was the Misanthrope; thats core principles are based on the comedy of manners. The fundamentals of the comedy of manners often have a multiple consistencies that are true to most plays written during that time. It s sole purpose is to get a satirical perspective at the life, manners and social aspect of the upper class and aristocrats. Itt is considered high comedy due to the fact that it creates a critical perspective of the life of the upper classes, unlike low comedy which serves no other purpose than to create laughter. Plays which use comedy of manners often poke fun at the character s outlooks on life, their manners toward each other and their view toward lower social classes. In general the characters of plays/books during this time have very generic roles such as the fool, hypocrite, the jealous lover, ect... Additionally the plots of these plays usually are surrounding a complicated love situation that puts a few characters in conflict with each other. • 33. Analysis Of Nick Carraway In The Great Gatsby In the novel The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald Nick Carraway, at first seems like a big and important part of the novel but once we meet Jay Gatsby that changes. Nick takes a back seat to be the narrator for Gatsby s story. As a narrator Nick is the most effective choice for The Great Gatsby. This is proven by his willingness to withhold judgment. his relationship to each of the main characters.his outsider status and perceptiveness. In my younger and more vulnerable, years my father gave me some advice that I ve been turning over in my mind ever since. He feels like this throughout the novel, he has rich friends and he goes to luxurious parties but he never feels like he belongs and he is never treated like he belongs. This outsider status helps him be a great narrator because it helps him give the reader the insider experience but also helps keep their distance and not get too attached to that world. If Nick were an insider the reader would not be shown a fair view of Gatsby s story. The reader would only see the East Egg side and never explore the West Egg side of life. Set in small town America, otherwise known as Winesburg, where everyone knowns about everyone, but nobody knows anyone, Anderson portrays his own, Version of the dreamer that (he) imagines walking the uncongenial streets of a small Midwestern town (Lindsay 29) throughout multiple characters within the collection of stories. First of all, it s up to the author to use their discretion to give the story whichever mood he so desires, and if that mood depression then so be it. Second, stories offer examples for readers. Examples are fantastic learning tools. Anderson uses the tool to encourage his readers on multiple accounts. First off, he uses the tool in order to offer an example as how to properly deal with ones problems, and how not to deal with ones problems. In the story titled, Death, just after his mother passed away, George thinks to himself, I will go to some city. Perhaps I can get a job on some newspaper. (Anderson 139). In all of the stories we do not find a moment more devastating than this, a son experiencing the loss of their mother. Yet, George doesn t react by drowning his sorrow for the rest of his life and breathing to death in the small town of Winesburg. Instead he sees the opportunity to chase his dream of becoming a writer. He may be more inclined to be optimistic however because his mother is finally free of her monotonous life as a sick old lady in a boring town, Perhaps Elizabeth s death seems less depressing to us than the fate of most other citizens of Winesburg because she does escape (Morris 48) but free or not, it s still the death of his mother. On the other hand, one of the many poor representations of how to handle one s issues can be seen in the story titled, Thinker. In this story we have a young man who considers himself more of an acquaintance of George Willard s than a friend. In the story, Seth desires to connect with anyone, he just wants to have a true friend, or better yet a true lover. • 37. The Synoptic Gospels In The Gospel Of Mark Throughout the centuries, from the time of the Augustine, it has not been uncommon for the Gospel of Mark to be viewed in a negative light when compared to the other Synoptic Gospels. It has been said that Luke and Matthew were written in an attempt to cover Mark s deficiencies. At first glance, this is an understandable viewpoint. To the modern layreader, Mark does seem to flow less evenly and convey less information than its contemporaries. Therefore, among many, Mark was respected for being the first Gospel written and for the precious information it conveyed, but certainly not for its literary elements. This changed in 1982 when Rhoads and Michie released the first edition Mark as Story, which is an analysis of Mark as a work of literature. This, as Mark Allan Powell stated in the afterward, was a new and unexpected way of looking at the Gospels that pioneered a wave of literary analysis in relation to Scripture. Mark as Story is an interdisciplinary approach that views the work through the lens of a story told using ancient oral tradition and analyzes its characters, plot, setting, narrator and original audience. When these aspects are viewed in this manner, it reveals that the Gospel of Mark is, in fact, a literary masterpiece. The authors of the book begin their exploration of Mark as literature by explaining their reasons for doing so. • 38. Descriptive Essay On Scrooge The text explicitly states Scrooge, a squeezing, wrenching, grasping, clutching, covetous, old sinner has passed away. According to the text, he despises many things such as happiness, humor, and even Christmas. From the reading, I know that he is depressed all the time, consequently his mental state has led him to call other people stupid, dumb, and idiots. On page three, in the conversation with his nephew Fred, Scrooge insults his nephew about marrying and loving his wife. The text states, that he also seized the ruler with such energy of action, that the singer fled in terror, leaving the keyhole to the frost and even more congenial frost. From the reading I know that Scrooge isn t a people person and is very down about life. Based on the text he doesn t really like being around them. For example Scrooge didn t donate any money to the poor, and blew off his nephew about spending Christmas with them. In the text it states that there is no wind as bare as Scrooge, this means he doesn t really care or doesn t have many feelings. The first ghost came when the clock pounded one. A horrid fusion among a child and an old man the ghost opens the Scrooge s bed curtains. According to the text the spirit is very vivid and bright. So the ghost takes Scrooge to his old school. According to the text Scrooge actually starts to laugh for the first time at the appearance of him reading fantasy books. Consequently he wasn t outdoors, playing with the other kids. The second place the ghost took Scrooge was where he and his sister were talking about their father being sent away. From the reading of the first spirit Scrooge really likes the first spirit for being very generous and thoughtful for taking Scrooge and showing him motivational parts in his life. The ghost of Christmas past helped Scrooge learn that there is more in life other than being morose all the time, there is amusement, family, bliss, and ambitious life to live. • 41. Analysis Of Eve Kornfeld s Creating An American Culture... History is the framework of every nation. It describes what life was like in a nation, hundreds perhaps thousands of years previously. With history, many citizens are able to examine what lead to a crisis in a nation such as the Stock Market Crash of 1929 or the Civil War in the 1800s in the United States of America. Likewise, the moments of growth and economic success are looked at. From these past endeavors, the people can examine what went wrong and what went right and determine how they can stop themselves from making similar mistakes or act in a way that has been proven to work. In Eve Kornfeld s Creating an American Culture 1775 1800, many different areas of national identity are discussed, including the beginnings of documenting the history of America as an independent nation. This was especially hard for Americans to create a singular national identity because there was bias in the early works, the different colonies or states were extremely diverse, and many intellectuals had different perspectives on the American identity. At the beginning of the historical documentation of America, many individuals were amateurs and/or biased towards their native state. There were different sides as to what the American Revolution was about so, If they wished to preserve their image unsullied by European incursions, Americans would have to develop their own narratives of nationhood (Kornfeld, 40).
