India s Fields Of Rai Block Of Sonepat District
ABSTRACT
A study was conducted in farmers fields of Rai block of Sonepat district, Haryana, India to study the
long term impact of two widely adopted resource conservation technologies (RCT s) namely bed
planting and zero tillage on structural properties of soils of recent alluvial plains of the river Yamuna.
Aggregate mean weight diameter by dry sieving and wet sieving (DS MWD and WS MWD) under
different RCT s were studied to compare structural condition of the soils under continuous use of these
technologies. Other important structural indices such as dispersion ratio (a measure of ease of
dispersion; DR), colloid moisture equivalent ration (a measure of ease of percolation; CMER), erosion
ratio (ER), stability index (SI), soil organic carbon (SOC), clay ratio (CR) were also studied to
monitor the susceptibility of soil to erosion in the study area. Results revealed that in the surveyed
villages under conventional tillage (CT), the mean (of 6 samples) magnitude of DR and ER were 0.58
and 0.82, respectively, and CMER was 1, which indicated the erodible nature of these soils. Analysis
of data of bed and conventional systems revealed that on an average, there was about 19.08 % increase
in SOC in bed planted system compared to conventional system. The decrease of DR, ER and CR
from 0.66, 0.52 and 4.25 under CT to 0.42, 0.28 and 2.38 under beds indicated reduced eroding
tendency of these soils under bed planting. Comparison of soil data of ZT and CT showed

My Love For Medicine
Throughout my life, there have been several important experiences which have influenced my desire
to pursue medicine. These include having a potentially cancerous mole on my ankle at the age of
three, my love for science and academics beginning in elementary school, the desire to help people,
giving back to the community, and to be a role model for others in the pursuit of their own dreams.
Although not one of these experiences in itself led to my pursuit of medicine, I believe they all have
influenced me in a way that compelled me to obtain a greater desire for the study of medicine. Had
one of these memories not existed, I may not be in the same position as I am today with applying to
medical schools. Nonetheless, I have known since a young age that medicine was going to be the right

where her drink is unknowingly spiked with LSD. Not long after that Alice amassed a dependence on
drugs, for example she was unable to last even a few days sober. The author of the diary, Alice, has a
raw style and format of writing that fascinated me. The writing style exposed real emotions, and did
not hold back. It was as if Alice was talking to her best friend and thought that no one would see her
diary. I also think that because I am a teenager and so is Alice I was able to relate to the life she had
and the pressures she feels. Alice taught me that even saying yes once to drugs, could lead to life
threatening consequences. The themes I noticed were, the influence of the media, the highs and lows
of teenage life and the dangers of drug use.
Something I found unique about the book was the style and format. Go ask Alice is one of the few
books I have read that was written in diary form, I liked the way that it skipped from one day to the

The daguerreotype image was contained inside a leather case with a velvet backing. The
daguerreotype was then replaced in 1851. Flash photography became popular once it was discovered.
Flash photography started off having the flash be made from a white powder that was ignited, but as
time went on it changed from that to a bulb that was on the top of the camera. It helped many people,
who could not afford pictures due to the fact that paintings were expensive. This was beneficial to

That something is the truth. Now it is incumbent upon us lawyers not to just talk about the truth, but to
actually seek it, to find it, to live it. What is it in us that seeks the truth? Is it our minds, or is it our
hearts? In his final defense, Jake makes a very valid point. The reputation of lawyers leads many
people to believe that all they want is to win the case, regardless of the consequence that it may put
